Univision Breaks New Details of Obama Admin’s Fast and Furious Cover-Up
On Sunday night, Spanish-language station Univision— one of the only networks to provide critical coverage of President Obama’s failures in office instead of cream-puff interviews — broke open the Fast and Furious investigation, revealing new evidence of weapons smuggling and displaying shocking new images of the bloody aftermath of the government-supported gun-smuggling program.
The Univision report undermines the integrity of the recently released DOJ inspector general report on Operation Fast and Furious, already heavily criticized as an attempt to whitewash criminal activity within the Obama administration.
The hour-long Univision report revealed the existence of another 57 guns recovered by Mexican authorities, including some of those used in the mass-murder at a party just one year after Obama’s inauguration:
On January 30, 2010, a commando of at least 20 hit men parked themselves outside a birthday party of high school and college students in Villas de Salvarcar, Ciudad Juarez. Near midnight, the assassins, later identified as hired guns for the Mexican cartel La Linea, broke into a one-story house and opened fire on a gathering of nearly 60 teenagers. Outside, lookouts gunned down a screaming neighbor and several students who had managed to escape. Fourteen young men and women were killed, and 12 more were wounded before the hit men finally fled.
Indirectly, the United States government played a role in the massacre by supplying some of the firearms used by the cartel murderers. Three of the high caliber weapons fired that night in Villas de Salvarcar were linked to a gun tracing operation run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), according to a Mexican army document obtained exclusively by Univision News.
These 57 recovered weapons discovered are in addition to the 122 weapons referenced in a congressional report. It is chilling to learn that each weapon recovered was dumped at the scene of a crime by cartel members who had attempted, and in most cases completed, the crime of first-degree murder. It is even more disturbing to know that American Department of Justice officials knew that most of the weapons walked over the border would only be discarded by the police and recovered by Mexican authorities after they were used in a crime, and that they were indifferent to the body count being racked up, callously noting that to make an omelet, eggs had to be broken.
Univision pulled no punches in describing the horrors of the Villas de Salvarcar massacre, even showing a graphic pool of blood reminiscent of the iconic Normandy D-Day invasion scene in the classic World War II film The Big Red One.
The report also shed more light on a fact that many in the media have attempted to ignore — namely, that Operation Fast and Furious was not the only federal gun-walking operation providing weapons to criminals at this time.
Operation Castaway, run with the same bloody-minded approach as Operation Fast and Furious, provided more than 1,000 guns to cartels via the Tampa ATF. Those guns leaked out across Honduras, Colombia, and Venezuela, according to the U.S. veteran who smuggled some of the weapons, Hugh Crumpler:
“When the ATF stopped me, they told me the guns were going to cartels,” Hugh Crumpler, a Vietnam veteran turned arms trafficker, told Univision News. “The ATF knew before I knew and had been following me for a considerable length of time. They could not have followed me for two months like they said they did, and not know the guns were going somewhere, and not want for that to be happening.”
Univision also uncovered evidence of weapons being smuggled from Texas: two gun-smuggling programs similar to Fast and Furious are rumored to have put thousands of additional weapons in the cartels’ hands in operations larger than Fast and Furious. U.S. Senator John Cornyn has repeatedly pressed the Obama administration for information about the documented trail of weapons coming from two Texas ATF areas of operations. The Department of Justice has denied the existence of such programs, despite the physical evidence of guns recovered suggesting otherwise. While the Univision report focused on guns the DOJ ran to Mexican cartels, there is enough evidence to suggest other Obama administration-sanctioned gun-walking plots arming domestic criminal gangs, such as the so-called Gangwalker plot in Indiana, which supplied Chicago street gangs, and similar rumored operations in California, North Carolina, northern Florida, and elsewhere, which provided weapons to gangs in U.S. cities. Nor has the Univision report focused on weapons that have found their way to cartels via the State Department or the Department of Defense.
Ever since Mike Vanderboegh and David Codrea broke the story of Obama administration gun-walking, critics have been noting that this is the biggest, bloodiest scandal in U.S. presidential history.
Despite a concerted effort by the mainstream media to ignore the story and the Obama administration’s attempt to stonewall investigators, this story seems to be catching fire.
The first presidential debate between embattled President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney will occur Wednesday. You can rest assured the moderator Jim Lehrer will not ask questions about the bloody gun-smuggling plot. It will be interesting to see, however, if Romney himself is willing to bring the scandal out onto a stage so public that even the media can’t ignore it.
All I can say is that the US Government is certifiably and totally insane.

Univision is an American network, formed from various Spanish-language stations in the U.S.. And its popularity has increased tremendously since then. It’s more popular than The CW network, and even routinely beats NBC in the ratings.
Nonetheless, it’s sad that we have to rely on a minority language network to report any news unflattering to Obama. And it would be comical, if not so tragic, that the best grilling Obama has received for his policies was from students on Telemundo, another Spanish network.
It really speaks volumes of the collusion and malfeaseance of the media, when non-professional students on a Spanish network ask more relevant questions of our president than the so-called professionals in the MSM.

How could DOJ-AFT lackeys know that the firearms would be “discarded by the police” (police, not cartel henchmen?) and later recovered by Mexican authorities? This implies Mexican police and authorities are involved. And secondly, do cartel gunmen routinely commit murder and then drop their weapons before they flee the scene of the crime? How convenient!

That was a typo.
F&F was started because during the 08 election both Clinton and Hussein obummer stated that 95% of all drug crime in Mexico was committed using American guns. In checking the states it was exposed to being only about 12% – and that was going high. Soooooo, they (Hussein) decided to make the 95% stat a reality. Hence F&F.
Because that’s the usual process in Mexican Cartel murders. They drop the weapons at the scene. They don’t want to be caught with incriminating evidence. So, the weapons are cleaned if fingerprints, and dropped. Naturally, they are then recovered by the local law enforcement or Mexican Army.
Standard procedure.
It’s the whole point of the operation.
Anyone involved in this operation at any level who did NOT know that is guilty of gross incompetence.
Will this documentary be translated to English, or broadcasted in stations other than Univision, so all America can see? I doubt it. This will just be a bleep on the radar that will disappear by the end of the week. Will this be brought to the forfront by Ryan, Romney or thr Repub party? I doubt it also. Mexicans were the only one killed by this atrocity. So you won’t be hearing about it for too long. NPR won’t do a thing about it or Univision’s sister station MSNBC. Obama will still win in Nov. and all of this will be forgotten and Holder will continue at his job.

My wife thinks this scandal is a symptom of pure evil. I am thinking maybe sometimes its hard to tell the difference between evil and dumber than dog excrement.

Advice to Mitt Romney:
1. Don’t just mention “Operation Fast and Furious” without explaining what it is. For all the average voter knows, “Fast and Furious” is just a popular movie series starring Vin Diesel. Mention that hundreds of Mexicans and two U.S. Border Patrol agents were killed as a result.
2. Try to pre-empt Obama’s claim that F&F started under the Bush administration. Ask him why he hasn’t fired an attorney general who would *either* start a program, *or* continue a program from the previous administration, with such obvious risks of death and no adequate monitoring.

Fast and Furious did NOT start under the previous administration, and it would be self-defeating — indeed, foolish — for Romney to suggest it did. Romney needs to make Obama OWN the “Fast & Furious” debacle that he created.
HERE’S the analogy Romney should make on Wednesday night, so that even politically asleep Americans can understand it:
“Calling Fast & Furious merely a continuation of Wide Receiver would be like the federal government executing American citizens in secret without trials, and then trying to excuse its policy as simply a continuation of the previous administration’s support for capital punishment.”

The biggest, bloodiest scandal in U.S. presidential history?
I have to point out what I’m pretty sure was the deliberate murder* of the Branch Davidians at Waco by the FBI’s Hostage “Rescue” Team as being worse, and equally established Bill Clinton and Janet “full responsibility” Reno as “a sitting President and a sitting Attorney General who are mass murderers.” Clinton even got re-elected and Reno stayed in her position for his entire period in office.
And it was Americans “pulling the trigger” (literally on gas grenades shot into the buildings, figuratively in other ways including using engineering combat vehicles to pull down their buildings on top of them, which directly killed a dozen or so) on American victims, so it was much more direct. And killing your own people is generally considered that worse. Yet nothing substantial happened to those responsible; it’s hard to see how the result will be any different for this atrocity.
Except there is one big difference, the motives and initial premeditation. Waco started out as an extreme “rice bowl” stunt by the Reagan/G. H. W. Bush ATF, the motive after that seems to have been revenge (even though we’re pretty sure some of the ATF agents who were killed were “own goals” and it’s possible all of them were). Whereas we suspect, from Holder’s rhetoric, that this, if not started at, was approved of at his level. And the motive was “more Mexicans killed by guns traced to the US will help gun control in the US”, something many consider to be more vile than revenge. Certainly using such unconscionable means for such unconstitutional ends makes this a very different thing.
* Ask if you want support for that part of the allegation; it has to do with the way the assault plan was structured, plus the above mentioned undisputeble deaths by crushing
Don’t hold your breath waiting for Romney to mention Fast and Furious…it would contradict his “Golly gee wizz, he sure is a nice guy, but…” narrative. This past summer the Romney campaign communicated to the House leadership (Old Yellowstain) that he wanted the whole thing (F&F) to just go away. Who the hell knows why…but, unless he has fired his establishment ‘advisors’ who are hell bent on a McCain-II disaster and actually intends to start running like he wants to win, we will have to rely on the foreign media to do what our media refuses to do – tell the truth about what this American Ayatollah has really been doing. I do not understand the notion that Romney would have anything to gain from bringing “Fast and Furious” into the debate. Ninety-percent or more of the public knows nothing about the issue, compliments of our corrupt media, and any mention of it would be treated by both Obama and the moderator as some sort of space alien sighting story. He would be marginalized as grasping for some unrelated issue that none are even aware of nor have the slightest interest in. All Americans should be appalled at the lying, deceit, and corruption that constitutes the F/F story but they aren’t and they surely aren’t going to be made to do so in an “in-the-tank” moderator controlled “gotcha” phony debate environment. I say, stick to the economy Mr. Romney since even the average uninformed dimwit (most potential voters) understands that issue. I respectfully disagree. When people hear about it, and just as you correctly point out the obama media acts like it’s an alien story, but then the people will look for themselves and find the mountains of lies being told by the administration and the media, and frankly, I believe they will get really pissed off when they learn the truth. I think it would irreparably harm Dear Leader and win the White House for Romney while at the same time exposing the MSM for what they truly are…just my humble opinion. But, I don’t believe Mitt will do it because the RINO’s in DC live in a glass house and that would mean all out war.
The thing is, this could be practically the ultimate “wedge” issue, where everyone is on the same side. There is no significant constituency in this country which thinks that allowing guns to be smuggled to Mexican drug cartels without being traced is a good idea. Obama and Eric Holder don’t try to justify that, they just try to portray the operation as somebody else’s fault.
If Mitt can get a clear message about F&F into the debate, he could use that to bolster his case that Obama is not getting the job of being president done, since he didn’t know what his own Justice Department was doing and has been allowing them to cover up their scandal.
It certainly has the potential to be a substantial wedge issue with the Hispanic demographic. That alone has the potential to tip the election, especially in Florida.
I think both you and BarocheDique are correct; the trick is, can Romney convey this in a couple of sentences in such an artificial “debate”? That sounds remarkably hard.
Better might be Romney and/or others going negative, presenting the issue in advertisements, and then bringing it up in the second debate.
However all this brings up the nastiest issue: the perpetrators of this deserve prison, but few things kill a Republic faster than jailing people once they lose power. Here I’m not talking about Obama’s level, but when this evolves far enough, to lose power is to lose your (and historically your family’s) freedom and generally life. So you make damned sure you don’t lose power, no matter what the formal system of government is or was.
My point in bringing all this up is that if Romney make a big deal about this during the election, it’ll be very hard for him to not follow through after when he has prosecutorial power. If the price of putting Holder in prison for this is the end of the Republic in the foreseeable future it strikes me as too high. (The normal solution is to not elect such immoral people in the first place, but we’re a bit past that point….)
About the only way out if it was elevated enough in the election would be for Obama to pardon Holder and enough people on down the chain of command, but I wouldn’t trust him to do that, even if he privately agreed to. It would make him look bad, affect his legacy in his view, etc.; we’re all pretty sure he looks forward to a long and prosperous life as an ex-President….
What is there to do with this other branch of our budding totalitarian government, the MSM? Isn’t it time for the guys with the mega bucks to buy out these corporate losers, walk in and fire the fascist bastards behind the microphones? Nobody in the Obama administration was ever going to give a Tinker’s Dam about a few thousand dead Mexicans. They are “collateral damage” at best. If Obama and Holder’s shadow ops team could have sent a drone in to kill them and plant the guns afterward, it would have been just as good for their purposes.
Again, let’s speak plainly. When Obama went on Spanish radio and asked for “enemies” to be punished, that was a dog whistle. But, it was a cynical one for more than the obvious reason.

Running guns to Mexican drug cartels and other drug cartels across Central America and South America was ALWAYS intended to have those guns “found” to have been involved in violent crime. What other purpose could there have been?

And, they know leverage when they hold it in their hands. They may not vote for Republicans, but they can sit on those very hands. The black community is not in love with the Spanish speaking community. (nor do they have any particular warmth reserved for the Jewish community) They use each other in a “minority political alignment coalition” nothing more.
This was a clumsy paragraph. The black-Hispanic community use each other in an uneasy truce.
The black community has no deep love or affection for the Jewish community. But the “using” is generally in one direction. The Jewish community gives more than it takes. And does not generally benefit in any way, shape or form from the “victim” role of “aggrieved minorities”. Instead, their devout fatal attraction to “liberalism gone bad” is the motivator behind their alliance with the radical extreme leftism and cynical race baiting, class warfare and divisiveness of the current Democratic Party/small c communists.
Their alliance is based upon a long since expired classic liberalism …..and their desire to hold onto the nostalgia for the “compassionate heart of we liberals”. The harsh hearts of Jeremiah Wright and Louis Farrakhan have no love for Jews…only hatred. THEIR “alliance” is with those who hate the Jews. And where Obama spent decades in rapt attention and complete devotion.
This was exactly how F&F was supposed to work.
Throughout 2009, obama, and his henchmen Napolitano, Clinton, Holder all began singing as a chorus that “90% of the guns used by violent drug cartels came from the USA”, implying our “lax gun laws” were responsible for cartel drug violence. This totally invented “statistic” was touted by Obama in his first trip abroad after becoming President. In Mexico City, as part of his global reset, he “confessed” this bogus “statistic” to the people of Mexico. This was very early in his presidency. It was also a huge lie.

Obama’s Mexico City speech, (again, his first on foreign soil after assuming the Presidency), was followed throughout 2009 by repeated and identical claims by Holder, Napolitano, and Clinton. F&F planning must have already been underway in the first days of the administration.
F&F was in full operation within a year of these pronouncements. Even through today, the US media is in full compliance with Obama on this. I’m certain our festering media think this is one of the most elegant schemes ever to come out of Washington. It is a measure of their complete corruption, and the evil cancer of betrayal and lies which are at the heart of Obama’s presidency…
Remember a few years back when the pols (Hillary, Obama and others) were pinning the guns in MX to dealers, NRA-friendly folks (bitter clingers)… Right, me neither.

I agree that Romney needs to shoehorn F&F into the debate this week – and I also agree that the MSM will do everything possible to ignore it.
However, Romney ALSO needs to plan for a response from the MSM should he grow a pair and bring up the issue himself.
The simple fact is the MSM and Obama re-election campaign team (but I repeat myself…) also pays attention to these kinds of blogs and knows there is a clamoring on our side for the issue to be aired.
Since they know we want the issue aired, and they know there is a chance Romney will bring it up, then the MSM is already planning how they are going to spin it.
They will do their best to deflect it, explain it away, or even turn it around on Romney somehow during the debate.
I think he should still bring it into the discussion – but he needs to think not only in terms of how he brings it up but also he needs to think of how he will respond to Odummer’s response as well as the MSM spin.
Oh who am I kidding? Romney’s campaign actually agreed to allowing the MSM to control the debates in the first place…..

Scott, a “clamoring”? Are you kidding? By whom? Only a very small portion of the public has any idea what F/F is. Who is “clamoring” for something that they have never even heard of? Romney, to his credit, won’t waste time on this issue. He would be as foolish to do so as he would to spend time trying to inject the name of Frank Marshall Davis into the “debate”. Huh? Who? What? Forget F/F as a viable issue in this election. It’s a loser. “Our side”, as you say, is about 5% of the electorate. See my response above to “Hysteria” below #13.

If Romney doesn’t bring this up in the first half hour of the debate, we’ll lose my vote….
I have been writing about F&F for some time on my blog. I served for 34 years in the State Department and had lots of run-ins with the official line on F&F. Having worked in Central America and South America and the Caribbean, I knew the guns were not coming from the US and refused to utter the line about “drugs flow north, guns flow south.”
So where were the guns coming from, and who was behind it?
The Chinese, Russian, and E. European guns were coming from–surprise–China, Russia, and E. Europe. There were also lots of gun floating around from the various wars. It made no sense for the cartels to get their guns at US trade shows: much more expensive, liable to getting caught, and the weapons they wanted–i.e., real assault rifles–were simply not available in US gun stores and shows. You can pick a full auto real AK for about $100 on the international gun gray or black market. You could also get lots of weapons from the Mexican military and cops.

How screwed are we now?
There are now facts which are indisputable; it has taken years to expose what should have been reported within days. Conjecture aside, we know that F&F, and other not fully exposed crimes (Now not policy errors, but serious crimes), will probably not be discussed in the debate. By agreement, this debate focuses only on the economy . Mr Jim Lehner, an ex Marine, obviously does not have a debate agenda for crime.
We know:
This is the most massive criminal act perpetrated by federal employees in the history of the nation. No other clearly illegal conduct has resulted in the deaths of masses of innocents. It simply dwarfs Watergate, plus Abu Ghaib. Yet the MSM has essentially ignored it (used terms such as lost weapons, etc.), or reported, falsely, that the Republicans did it also (Wide Receiver). The latter was inept stupidity, the former are crimes.
We know:
The DoJ IG report can not prove, or disprove that Eric Holder knew about it. But every level of his subordinates are up to their eyes in knowledge of these crimes. I conjecture that they would have been catatonic not to tell him of the biggest event in his term of office. Moreover his boss, President Obama extended his personal official privilege to seal all Executive documents against the US Congress’ legal demand. Congress received some 8% of the documents they, by law, are entitled to review. The most knowledgeable White House official was suddenly and unusually posted to the US embassy in Iraq, beyond Congress’ reach for testimony. The DoJ IG was refused testimony of any executive employee beyond his purview. Some executives told him that they would not testify except with a waiver of criminal prosecution.
Thanks to Mr. Owens, and a few other journalists, these alleged crimes have been exposed, one drip at a time. But few erudite voters know even the basic facts of F&F. It simply does not exist in American’s minds.
Once, an extremely powerful President Nixon spoke to 400 Associated Press managing editors who widely reported his historic words, “People have got to know whether or not their President is a crook. Well, I’m not a crook…”
No democratic society can survive the silent lies of the press, can survive an extremely power Department of Justice which grievously violates the law. Our nation is in great danger.

What about Waco?
If recent reports pan out, the criminal ATF acts went far beyond F&F in Arizona, involved both illegal domestic gun running, as well as international gun running, by a number of offices, and mostly to organized crime. The body count will sky rocket; WACO will viewed by history as a warm up.
But the scariest issue is that while WACO riveted the nation’s attention for weeks, featuring the AG, Janet Reno, this fiasco screams in silence. In the middle of an electronic white hot campaign, very few reporters are digging into the largest scoop since Benedict Arnold went bad. It is beyond comprehension.
Romney isn’t touching this with a 10-foot pole. In the debates Romney will deal only in toothless platitudes and general, gummy critiques of the “economy.”
For those that didn’t tune in, it was closed captioned in English. (At times, it was rather entertaining watching the captions be typed up, but good enough to follow the story.)Those of us in the US have been focused on the Brian Terry part of the story. This was about the Mexican people and the tragedies caused by it. I especially liked the mom that confronted the President of Mexico over lack of progress in stopping the flow of guns. She’d lost her son in the violence. It would be interesting to see what the viewership was for the program. It’s definitely the kind of program that our media should be making.
both Univision’s interview with POTUS and this story have gone unnoticed beyond the usual right-leaning suspects: this site, a few talk hosts, maybe a couple of papers. Otherwise, nothing. And a Hispanic majority is still likely to vote FOR Obama.
Our govt armed a group of people who were already willing to use guns, but no one in the US seems to care because criticizing The Obama does not fit the narrative. Most of his supporters would rather see who the next rising star in The Voice is that to probe issues like this.
I think the effort will have a huge impact. The fact that the administration doesn’t care about dead Mexicans is a very tender issue, and one that will have a ready audience.
The Romney/Ryan camp should be busy typing up an English transcript of the Univision report to hand out to all media in attendance at the debate, and for sending to every media organization that day.
Then, when he mentions something about F&F, he can say “…Well, right here on page xx of the Univision transcript, they say that you did…”.
Just as Newt did in the primary debates, make the media cover themselves and the way they ignore their own purported standards.
Did the program address the motivation behind the program, namely, to provide an excuse for clamping down on gun sales and manufacturing in the U.S., effectively bypassing the second amendment? I’m guessing that it did not. If not, then it’s missing the point, perhaps intentionally. This was another shameful attempt by the left to disarm the population, and it needs to be framed that way and recognized by the general public for what it was.
Shortly after he was elected, The 0 spoke to Sarah Brady regarding gun control “I just want you to know that we are working on it,” Brady recalled the president telling them. “We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar.” Now you’re implying that he might have been referring to F&F (probably among other things we don’t even know about)?
How very racist, not to mention silly right-wing paranoid extremist of you. And that’s just how the charge will be received and explained by the compliant BO media. It IS the only explanation of F&F that makes any sense at all, but the media would like us to understand that the whole scheme, started under Bush, was carried out by well-meaning ATF bureaucrats, merely continuing the program Bush started.
Do we want Mitt to explain that Bush’s program was quiet different (he worked with the Mexican government and planted transmitters in the guns so that they could be followed–still a dumb program) and that Bush abandoned the program when he saw it was going terribly wrong? Yeah, like that’s gonna happen during a debate.
And that’s why I think outside pacs should do the ads–and run them heavily in Hispanic areas, where people might care deeply that The 0 is complicit in the bloody murders of Mexican citizens.

I think Univision should buy out a few TV Stations like ABC or NBC and MSNBC. They can’t cost much anymore. Univision, a foreign Television Station, is making all the American channels look like the corrupt, inept and dishonest Liberal trash that we all know them to be.

Romney should recruit the some of the Mexican families for an ad on Univision to explain how their children were murdered by Obama and Holder’s careless and unAmerican policy. Then have been attempting to cover it all up with their stonewallng tactics until after the election. The Mexican victims and the U. S. agents deserve justice.
Perhaps they’re taking the long view and figuring that if they can get the public riled up enough about guns in the hands of criminals we’ll accept the harsher gun control laws that they believe will eventually make a difference. It’s sort of like if they were to order hospitals to let uninsured patients die so that voters will demand socialized medicine.
Don’t get too excited about what UNIVISION will do next – Cheryl Saban, the wife of UNIVISION owner Haim Saban was just appointed to a diplomatic post at the UN by…..yep, Dear Leader.
