Two More Border Patrol Agents Gunned Down
News of the attack on the Border Patrol team comes just days after Spanish-language network Univision aired a damning one-hour special report on Operation Fast and Furious. The network revealed that an additional 57 Fast and Furious guns had been recovered at crime scenes, in addition to the 122 guns already noted in congressional investigations.
One of the most shocking and graphic attacks involved a case of mistaken identity, where a cartel warlord thought a group assembling at a local house was a meeting of rival cartel figures. He called in a hit squad of 20 men, who massacred the home’s occupants and nearby neighbors. After the fact it was discovered that there were no cartel members in the home — the hit squad had attacked a party held by local teenagers. Fourteen were killed and an additional 12 were wounded. Three guns discarded at the murder scene were traced back to Operation Fast and Furious. Jose Antonio Acosta Hernandez, the boss of the La Linea hit squads for the Juarez cartel, claims he was merely following orders:
What had happened was Jose Antonio Acosta Hernandez, or “El Diego,” the onetime leader of the Juarez Cartel’s La Linea, sent his team to the birthday party to kill what he thought were members of the rival Sinaloa Cartel.
La Linea is the “enforcement arm” of the Juarez Cartel. According to the El Paso Times, El Diego told Mexican authorities after his capture that La Linea’s mission was, among other things, to “eliminate the members of the Sinaloa cartel in Ciudad Juárez.”
“Regarding the party in Villas de Salvarcar, I was informed that there were some who belonged to the Sinaloa Cartel,” El Diego said in police interrogation videos. “I send the boys, and when they are there, they tell me that they have already located them, and so the order to start working is given.”
“Merely following orders” seemed to be the primary defense of Eric Holder’s Department of Justice, according to DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report whitewashing the Obama administration’s role in in Operation Fast and Furious. Curiously, Horowitz refused to mention any of the federal crimes that must have occurred for gunwalking to have taken place — such as felony violations of the Arms Export Control Act that would have accompanied every single gun, and felony violations of the Kingpin Act. Horowitz also managed to dodge the other suspected administration gunwalking plots within DOJ and other parts of the government that Univision discussed, such as the Tampa ATF’s Operation Castaway.

Prayers and blessings to the families of the agents.
IDEA: We have drones patrolling our cities and our farmers fields, how about drones backing up our boarder patrol. Better yet, how about our drones as the first in, and let the agents clean up.
Not to be contentious but surely it’s apparent that, when they won’t give these men real bullets, there is absolutely no intention of stemming this tide of infiltration, or the slaughter of these brave men who continue their dedication to America’s safety against all odds.
gordo 12, good ideas, and I would couple them with a few more.
Can anyone say fast enough – lock up the bastards and throw away the keys- and I’m not referring to the obvious suspects! For IF not for the DIRECT assists from the Radical/Thug-in-Chief, and his Racialist AG, surely the pile up of bodies at the border would not be happening, aside from so many in Mexico too.
Indictment number one, against the lawless Obama regime, starts here – http://adinakutnicki.com/2012/10/03/when-does-a-pile-up-of-dead-bodies-not-lead-to-criminal-indictments-hint-when-perpetrated-by-the-obama-regime-commentary-byadina-kutnicki/
Faster…faster…
On the subject of drones on the border. They do. FT Huachuca AZ is 20 miles from Bisbee and is home to the US Army training center for UAV pilots.
What difference does it make if the border agents returned fire? Weren’t we informed a while back that border agents are only allowed to load their guns with rubber bullets?
Anyone who votes for this Administration with Obama at the head and Holder holding the power to commit and/or ignore crimes, are IDIOTS!
These men HAVE TO GO! They are a cancer on this country. Vote Republican.
But I thought Janet Napolitano said our borders were “secure?” You mean they’re not? Hmmm, do you think anybody in Congress will ask her about this? I doubt it, even though they really should.
But I thought Janet Napolitano said our borders were “secure?” You mean they’re not? Hmmm, do you think anybody in Congress will ask her about this? I doubt it, even though they really should. Before any more Americans are killed along these “secure” borders.
“We do not know if the Border Patrol agents were able to return fire, ….”
Isn’t it the case that Brian Terry was ordered to use ‘beanbag’ rounds? Is it possible that Ivie was similarly restricted? Has there been any change to the policy that BP agents cannot use live ammo? Who made that policy?
It is absolutely correct Agent Terry was armed with beanbag rounds, under the orders of one Janet “Butch” Napolitano. That is one of the aspects of this whole mess that remains glaringly unreported….among others, but if I was an unarmed Border Patrol agent I sure as hell wouldn’t want anyone to know I was so weakly outfitted. But, who really knows besides the agents on the ground? The only thing that is certain, is that if we want any answers at all, that are true, we will first have to get a new administration in place; this bunch will never tell us the truth. They know they cannot tell the people the truth and stay out of prison, hence the executive privilege BS.

So, the IRS can carry live ammo to enforce ObamaCare but Border Patrol cannot?
Please, let’s be accurate here. Neither Terry nor Ivie were without, at a minimum, their 0.40 service pistol during either lethal encounter. While Terry may have been also armed with a “less lethal” bean bag launcher, he was never without his service pistol and, you can rest assured, other members of his BORTAC team, were far better armed than just the pistol. Terry simply got hit with a round that hit enough of his vitals that he bled out at the scene. You can also rest assured, no one ever ordered him to use the bean bag launcher, if he had one, without the option to use lethal force if it was reasonable and necessary.
Bear in mind, both of these encounters occurred at night and both encounters could have been groups of “regular” illegal aliens, who are normally not armed. Had either teams of agents fired on “regular” aliens that had been mistakenly been thought of as armed but they weren’t, you wouldn’t hear the end of the controversy. That’s part of the reason it’s so dangerous out there. These teams were both likely fired on first before the bad guys could be established to be armed except by bad things happening first. But, these agents out there are NEVER without at least their pistol to use, if necessary. Most are carrying an M-4 as their primary weapon. No one is restricting their right to defend themselves as necessary.
Obviously if this is true, it’s an enormous relief. Please cite sources to authenticate the information.
Hey Anon: We can rest assured you’re a nitwit.
PS I am so sure the families of the dead agents feel more assured now that you have explained all this as fact. Yet have not presented any argument about illegals entering our nation or our lack of a full response by our government to said illegality.
I will not cite sources, but let’s use some common sense. Do you honestly think thousands of agents would go out there in the middle of the night armed with only “less lethal” devices, and not put it out in public the restrictions under which they place their lives?
Common sense tells me they were ambushed by a well-armed party and were immediately put down with little opportunity to return fire with whatever weapons they may have. I would hope and pray, especially after the Agent Terry murder, that our Border Patrol agents are fully armed and capable of defending themselves. For all three to be hit and the bad guys getting completely away looks like a well-executed ambush where our agents are lucky that any of them survived at all.
With all due respect, you sound like a very decent chap. But you can have the common sense, and I’ll got with verification.
You won’t cite sources because you don’t have any. Your account of BP patrol activity is the biggest load I’ve read so far.
Those BP agents were patrolling a canyon where armed drug cartel members were roaming and on the lookout for the BP. The ATF knew about this in advance, but for some reason neglected to alert the BP. Whether this was deliberate to claim a victim with which to outrage the American public to accept massive gun control or it was a case of gross negligence, who knows? But what the heck happened to the Libyan ambassador and others? Were they also guinea pigs (since there were prior bombings there and requests for additional security, which were denied) or just more gross negligence on the part of this incompetent and corrupt administration?
I will not cite sources, but let’s use some common sense.
Why not? You seem to be trying to give the impression that you have some inside knowledge of Border Patrol procedure. Do you? Or are you just assuming that the procedure is what you say it is?
Do you honestly think thousands of agents would go out there in the middle of the night armed with only “less lethal” devices, and not put it out in public the restrictions under which they place their lives?
I would think that border agents would not operate without appropriate weapons capable of lethal force but real life doesn’t always happen the way we think it should. Consider two real life examples:
1. The Marine guards at the American Embassy in Cairo were apparently not issued with live ammo, only blanks, at the insistence of officials within the Obama Administration.
2. Canadian border guards complained for years that they were unarmed and arming of these officers waited years before it commenced. I have seen unarmed Canadian border agents with my own eyes in the recent past.
I know the Canadian border agents weren’t happy about this state of affairs but they put up with it. I can only assume the US Marines were at least as unhappy about not having live rounds but they did the best they could without them.
“2. Canadian border guards complained for years that they were unarmed and arming of these officers waited years before it commenced. I have seen unarmed Canadian border agents with my own eyes in the recent past.”
I do not know where you have been crossing the Canadian border, but I’ve crossed it MANY times in past few years – 4 times in the past month – and ALL Canadian border guards I’ve seen are definately armed.
I have no source for or knowledge of the Border Patrol’s ROE’s. I do, however, know this. The Rat-Bastard-Commie-in-Chief has shown at every turn he is an Open Borders advocate. His Justice Dept. wants illegal aliens to vote, they practice “catch and release”, they legally and illegally attack local law enforcement officials who try to do the job they won’t do, and they don’t give two cold turds in a milk bucket what it says in the Constitution.
BTW a shoot-on-sight policy for border jumpers out in the middle of nowhere makes perfect sense to me.
Prayers and condolences for the slain and injured agents.
Yes, we certainly have rat bastards in charge at the very top, and they’re perfectly willing to skirt the truth and see more deaths as a result of the very weapons they purposefully placed in the hands of the cartels for political reasons.
We, as a country, haven’t decided to use shoot-on-sight policies at the border yet, and, I submit to you, no border in history has been effectively guarded without such policies, either. At the very least, interior enforcement has to be much more rigorously pursued to remove the incentive to being here in the first place. Our country appears to not want to stomach the systematic rounding up of illegals in our cities, etc, but this will be necessary to demonstrate we’re serious about our sovereignty.
Until we rid ourselves of these bastards, we’d better pray more agents and other innocent civilians don’t fall to more rounds from the weapons still floating around out there. Prayers for the families, and prayers for a better, more noble and informed electorate to cast this administration out.
Greetings:
Almost inconsequential, but doesn’t US 80 go from New York to Frisco ???
FYI: This murder happened near AZ80, not US80.
The cost to build a real fence similar to the one in Israel would be in the range $2 to $3 million per mile. That would probably be the best $4 to $6 billion we ever spent. In fact, I am willing to bet that it could be set up with donations. Just tell every American to send in an extra $20, tax deductible, on their income taxes and it would be done.
0 would most likely use the $20 for more “free” cell phones.
You and I both wish !
Unfortunately, one cannot earmark one’s taxes for specific purposes.
One could imagine a non-profit company collecting funds to pay the
owners of land along the border for the right to put up a fence…
and one could imagine the Feds ending the project before it began.
Droids are the way to go; They can get in close and separate the
illegal immigrants from the drug smugglers, and if the first one
is shot down, the one following it can strafe the shooters.
Actually, you can earmark deductible donations on your tax returns. If I recall there are causes such as fallen firefighters, and rare and endangered species. Not sure if a fence would qualify but is should.
Prayers for the Ivie’s. And for the area that is so noted for it’s illegals coming through, I suggest 100 tons of Claymore mines liberally spread about. Well hidden and facing Mexico, of course.
Please don’t bother me with that “Where’s your humanity? There’re children in those groups!) garbage. Fact is, and remains, ILLEGAL is ILLEGAL and is not linked to age.
Anyone coming through areas like that need to be subject to all the weaponry we can bring to bear on an ILLEGAL invasion of American soil.

How can the FBI report that the Border Patrol Incident near Bisee, AZ now appears to be a “friendly fire” incident? According to the report the agents called in on their radios to state that, “They were under fire!!!”
While I have nothing to back up my suspicious I believe that someone in this administration is trying to conceal that there is trouble at the border. This administration thru either the Dept of Homeland Security or the ‘state run media’ is trying to convince us, “Move along, this aren’t the droids that you are looking for.” [i.e. There is no problem at the border - what do they want, A moat.]
How about providing the American people, your boss, the truth – a novel idea.
