Time for Daylight: U.S. Weapons Reaching Cartel Hands a Huge Scandal

The U.S. government has effectively allowed weaponry to reach cartels, and now uses the violence they helped cause as a gun control argument.

“Gunwalker” has led to congressional inquiries and has inspired National Rifle Association Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre to call for Attorney General Holder’s resignation: “When does it stop being law enforcement and start being a criminal enterprise? Innocent people are dying. It makes no sense at all.”

While Holder and Obama have been pushing the narrative that gun control is the solution to Mexican violence — and the ATF was ensuring the delivery of weapons to drug dealers to build a case for gun control — the federal government sold $177 million of weaponry to Mexico, including $20 million for small arms.

Any reasonable American now has to wonder if the legal weapons shipped by our government — and the illegal weapons shipped with government knowledge — will be used to kill American civilians and to prop up narco-terrorist gangs threatening our southern border.

The plan for a long gun registry is still one of the president’s goals, even as he creates the problem for which he proposes the solution. A virulent anti-gun radical since his days with the Joyce Foundation, Obama has previously stooped to despicable levels in order to pursue his gun control agenda. He now wants to use the bully pulpit of his office to play both arsonist and firefighter, and is willing to watch northern Mexico and the American southwest burn in order to restrict a constitutional right he has always abhorred.

I cannot understand why they did not sabotage the weapons first.

    • Dead bodies are more politically effective.

    • Chris

Holder doesn’t care about dead Americans.

He has a dream. His dream is law-abiding U.S. citizens being disarmed.

By putting out the story that the cartels are using guns sold in the U.S. gun shops he can use that lie to close down gun sales. No act of Congress. End run around the Congress and straight to cut off YOU from buying arms.

That is the one, true fact of this story. Gunwalker is just another tactic to steal your natural right to self defense. By cutting off the more effective means they seek to prevent you from exercising control of your own destiny.

Because, in their opinion, they know better than you. They are your betters.

That is Holder and Obama’s opinion of you. That they are your betters.

Thomas Jefferson never said anything like your quote #1, and your quote #2 is a rough paraphrase of Benjamin Franklin, not John Adams. If you’re going to quote the founders, do it right or just come off looking ign’ant.

  2. Holder should have been impeached a long time ago. Another major scandal he is part of is that he is STILL trying to find ways to prosecute former and current CIA members for their part in the “Enhanced Interrogation Program” under the Bush Administration. Holder is STILL wasting time, money, and resources on that rather than concentrating on this gun issue, let alone the Black Panther’s case. I’m really wondering what an Attorney General needs to do to get impeached these days.

And I’ll also NEVER forget that Alberto Ganzales under Bush was forced to resign over the firing of some Federal Attorneys, something that Bush had the complete right to do. And yet Holder has screwed up so many times and nobody in Congress is saying much (especially after that insane idea of putting terrorists on trial in New York City, let alone trying to stop the military tribunals at Guantanamo Bay). This guy really, really, needs to go. I hope Congress is listening.

    • gordo12

Congress only listens to and reacts to two things:
      1: $ from lobbyists.
      2: Polls.

    • Isadora504

Holder should have been in JAIL a long time ago. I even wrote whitehouse.gov and referred to him as “that legal genius, Eric Holder”. He is absolutely ruthless and/or stupid and I’m being kind. He ignored the serious federal crime of voter intimidation in Philly, and is currently trying to allow BHO, by Executive Order what they cannot do by law (the FAR), according to the courts and the old, UNPACKED NLRB. To wit: he is trying to permit the government to check on the PAC contributions of prospective contractors and their senior staff. Blatantly illegal, but remember, we’re now living in South Side Chicago and ruled by thugs. I know, I spent eight years there. They are trying to ensure that unions and the SEIU get in, unfettered, in the gravy train. This is the most corrupt administration I have ever seen in my 54 years.

Israel P: you missed the main point of the article, that the Obama administration is deliberately trying to provoke altercations in hope of taking advantage of the resulting outcry and enacting laws that support the “progressive” platform. This is a riff on “let no crises go to waste” except now they are taking it to the next level and creating the crises themselves.

The same technique is being used on other fronts, as well. The thug-left tried to provoke Ryan on his speaking tour, hoping to either get Ryan to make a mistake, provoke anger, or get video showing angry Americans in the audience. Fortunately Ryan is too cool to fall into their trap. It helps that he is smart enough to know that the Left is actively scheming and agitating against him.

The Left is trying to manufacture crises so that they can leverage them politically. The wickedness of this political tactic by the Democratic party is so insidious that it’s hard to believe any party would want to use this tactic. But laws don’t apply to them, only to honest Americans.[1] Taxes don’t have to be paid if you are a Democrat[2], only by the honest. The Democrats are trying to enslave us legally and financially. What’s the next major crisis that they plan on leveraging? Why that would be the bankruptcy of America.

just how much of this is the American people supposed to put up with before we remove these idiots

  5. 5. Adina Kutnicki, Israel

The leftist cabal within the White House is operating under Alinsky and Cloward Piven rules for radicals.
The fact of the matter is that few citizens take the time and energy to turn Obama’s own words against him. He admitted ! in several forums that Alinsky Rules were a blueprint for his community activism(agitation)as such, his alliance with ACORN shock troops are self evident and are integral to said radical putsch/transformation.
Therefore, the fact that Obama’s White House is doing an end run around the 2nd amendment, via sales to the cartels, is of piece with their strategy.
Simply put, ANY violation of civil rights, Constitutional precepts, are encouraged. After all, the ‘collective’ supercedes the individual.

  6. 6. Peter

So, exactly how do these Donks think this “National Gun Registration” will work? Aside from the millions of guns from before the ’68 GCA that are still in families, what about the millions more bought face to face, given as gifts, inherited, etc? Do these clowns think that folks will run right down to the nearest police station with the serial numbers?

These is a reason that ammo and ammunition components have been flying off the shelves.

    • Strider

. . . ammo and ammunition components have been flying off the shelves.

That brings up another interesting question: Where are the cartels getting their ammo? After all, those machine guns (like all other firearms) are useless without bullets. Recall earlier proposals by the gun-grabbers to slap a 1000% (or more) tax on ammunition, which would effectively equal prohibition. If Jimmy the Greek was alive, he’d make the odds 20-1 that the ATF is also funneling ammo to the cartels.

All that said, the whole problem would disappear in a flash if we’d end this asinine war on (some) drugs. But, that, of course, would kill off the DEA and put a severe dent in the rest of the judicial-industrial complex. Can’t have that. :-(

And yet “Law Enforcement” continues to enable this swill. When is it time for them to rot in hell where they belong?

    • “…When is it time for them to rot in hell where they belong?”

      Long past, IMHO.

Our Founders (PBUT)would have risen up long ago – but unfortunately most of us are too busy worrying about what Li-Lo or Parris is up to, or watching “Idol” or… or… or…

OTOH, Dear Reader was the best thing to happen to Liberty in a hundred years — just look at how big our “tea party” revolt actually became in such a short time! Then there’s the fact that he’s also the best thing to happen to the firearms industry…

I’ve written about this on my blog, lately. People *ARE* waking up — and stuff like “gunwalker” is aiding the process immensely!

      Keep the Faith, Brother(s)!

      • Malinse

“but unfortunately most of us are too busy worrying about what Li-Lo or Parris is up to, or watching “Idol” or… or… or…”

Right on target D_D. This is the problem. The American public are too self-absorbed and the political propagndists know it and are happy the public only care about “royal weddings” or other such nonsense. Toqueville said democracy would work until the majority became apathetic. People are so worried about buying that next gadget to make their lives soft and convenient, that they don’t see their freedoms eroding around them. And when the government asks for their guns, they will timidly give them up. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn warns all people what could happen if most people do nothing while tyrrany abounds.

        take Care.

  8. 8. M. Report

The problem with the Progressives is not that they are evil, or stupid,
but that they are delusional; They think that they can disarm the public,
and this is never going to happen, because the attempt to acquire the power
so to do will result in their removal from power.

  9. 9. MarkD

If any governement program succeeds, it is no longer needed. Failure is a design feature. Imagine a world without the ATF. Do you really think anybody except their employees would care?

  10. 10. Al Reasin

The WaPo investigated these sales to the narco-terrorists and blamed the retail firearms stores along the border. They never tied the US government to the sales. I wondered about the report at the time; now we know who was at fault. I wonder if the WaPo has reported on their faulty investigation.

    • spinoneone

Why would anyone expect the WaPo to do an honest job of “investigating” this administration? LMAO!!!

    Long Gun registration

Some of the Canuckistani’s registered guns that didn’t exist to people who did, vice versa and all other permutations.

They made sure that their registry was as full of sh1t information as possible.

With any luck, the new conservative majority up there will get to kill the registry off, long after it should have died.

I can just picture all the boys and girls from the gangs, lining up with their registration forms filled out, signed and the registration fee in their hands…

It’s like finding the forensic evidence tying the Reichstag fire back to a National Socialist. However, instead of a emergency decree to suspend rights, expect an Executive Order to achieve that which they couldn’t obtain through Constitutional processes.

    The Gunwalker Scandal Made Simple

There are five key accusations against ATF and DOJ made by ATF whistleblowers and other sources within FedGov:

    1. That they instructed U.S. gun dealers to proceed with questionable and illegal sales of firearms to suspected gunrunners.
    2. That they allowed or even assisted in those guns crossing the U.S. border into Mexico to “boost the numbers” of American civilian market firearms seized in Mexico and thereby provide the justification for more firearm restrictions on American citizens and more power and money for ATF.
    3. That they intentionally kept Mexican authorities in the dark about the operation, even over objections of their own agents.
    4. That weapons that the ATF let “walk” to Mexico were involved in the deaths of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and ICE agent Jaime Zapata, as well as at least hundreds of Mexican citizens.
    5. That at least since the death of Brian Terry on 14 December, the Obama administration is engaged in a full-press cover-up of the facts behind what has come to be known as the “Gunwalker Scandal”.

    From “Sipsey Street Irregulars” website.

Can you say “obstruction of justice”, Boys and Girls? I knew you could!

DDS, has Absolved been published yet? I’ve scoured Amazon and every place else I can think of and have come up dry, either as hardcopy or e-book.

  14. 14. Tblakely

The ATF has had a number of high profile failures over the past couple of decades. Have they had any significant successes? I suspect the ATF could be disbanded without any negative impact at all.

  15. 15. DonM

There are many unconstitutional agencies. The ATF is one. Social Security is another. Food and Drug is another. Agriculture is still another. None of their powers are derived from the 17 enumerated powers in Article 1. The correct level of funding for all these would be zero.

For Social Security, people who have paid into the “trust fund” under color of authority for years have a fair claim against the government. With interest, their rights would exceed any reasonable expectation of payouts under current SS rules. The same is true of Medicare, Medicaid.

  16. 16. gordo12

OK, we all understand that Holder needs to be removed. He has made to many mistakes to be that, mistakes. Impeachment does not have consequences for his treason and the congress is only interested in the gravy train.

How can we the people push the action? Criminal trial? How?

Politicians will not listen or act. Charlie Wrangel anyone?

  17. 17. urbanleftbehind

The Republicans would indeed be the stupid party if they did not make a naked appeal to Mexican-Americans along the lines of “Obama holds such low value of your people that he has propogated a bloody drug war in your land”. Calderon is limited to one term, and frankly is probably in low regard since his rant in Capital Hill. But man, I would love to here him spill the beans against Obama between the time of the July 1 2012 Mexican election and the November 2012 Presidential Election.

Every additional power ceded to the Federal Government is used & abused as a blunt instrument to rob more freedoms from patriotic Americans. In defense of all who are cynical about how governments deal with firearms that they own, let me tell you what happened to me when I was in basic training during Vietnam. Officers issued each trainee a rope that was three feet long. We were told that when in the field and sleeping, we must tie one end of the rope to our M16 and the other end to our shooting arm. Can you guess why? I was approached in the field by uniformed regular army soldiers who offered to buy my M16.

  21. 21. SUSANM

THIS IS GROUNDS FOR IMPEACHMENT, GIVING THESE CARTELS GUNS, ETC.BUT THEN OBAMA AND HOLDER IS AFTER OUR GUNS…..ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, IMPEACH ALL OF THEM…AMERICA IT IS TIME TO TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK? WE HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR 2 YRS…OBAMA IS DESTROYING OUR CONSTITUTION DAY BY DAY, WE CANNOT SIT AND LET THIS GO ON…THE LONGER WE WAIT, THE HARDER ITS GOING TO BE…
SO IF IT IS A WAR WITHIN IN, SO BE IT… BETTER THEN LIVING UNDER OBAMA’S LAWS…IT WILL BE HARD ON ALL OF US, BUT DO IT FOR YOUR KIDS……DO YOU WANT THEM TO LIVE A LIFE UNDER SOCIALISM, RULED, TRAINED, NO RELIGION, NO HOPE, LIBERTY….THIS IS WHAT OBAMA WANTS……WAKE UP.

It won’t happen. We elect a bunch of spinss winers to represent us and they will never challenge obama,,,afraid to… I don’t’ think they want to challenge anyone, except an opponent in the next election

You can watch part of Holder’s testimony where he is answering to Darryl Issa. He is an arrogant buffoon. When Issa basically accused him of incompetence and possible neglihgence he became completely defensive, forced into blabbering, and then said:
“We’ll certainly cooperate with all the investigations, but I’m going to take great exception to what you just said. The notion that somehow or other this Justice Department is responsible for those deaths that you mentioned, that assertion’s offensive. And I want to tell you that” –
If Obama hadn’t selected him as Attorney General, to cover for Obama’s destruction of America, Holder would be back in gangster Chicago-town as an ACORN lawyer or another “community organizer”. Putting Holder in charge of the law of the greatest country in the world, is like making Pee We Herman the Pope.

Placing huge numbers of guns in the hands of murderous criminals? These are NOT the actions of a government that can be trusted! Just, moral, ethical governments don’t supply drug cartels with weapons to murder innocents!
