I read Sins last weekend, and while it was very good, it was not quite as strong as Prayers. That said, I can't wait for the third installment!

Ferrigno owes a lot to Steyn - I probably would never have read Prayers if Steyn hadn't mentioned it in America Alone...

Interesting review - I want to check the book out. Does Pajamas Media have a book column? *Could* Pajamas have a book column? I'd be interested esp in reviews of SFF.

I just finished the advanced reader copy of Caliphate by Tom Kratman. I recommend it. It takes place 100 years in the future and Europe is now under Salafist rule. Here's the URL for it's sample chapters. Give it a look.

Seattle has no hair? What a wordsmith! The word you were groping for was Dilapidated--not Depilated--for cryin' out loud--if your spell check isn't working, pick up a dictionary.

Thanks for the recommendation. I am embarking on a novel, that takes place in UK, of a similar bent. its an interesting vein of future fiction to delve into as a writer.

Its good to see publisher with the courage to publish this sort of novel. One has to wonder if a UK based publisher would have such backbone.

It would be very inresting to trace all the speculative fiction novels/noveletts on the topic of islamisation and jihad in futuristic context.

It is reminding me a anthology of short stories, written by Rafał A. Ziemkiewicz in Poland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ziemkiewicz), "Czerwone dywany, odmierzony krok". In four stories he showed the futurisic, decadent Europe, few decades ahead, after the Israel has been nuked by unified islamic state, and European Union has just singed the peace treaty with Caliphate, meanwhile the Russia has collapsed, and became a cluster of anarchic semi-states, and Balkans has been completly islamised. Of course there is lots of political incorrectness, and author made some allusions, that under immigration and islam Europe would collapse the same way as Roman Empire.

So far there is no English translation of this book...
