They'll burn it before they hand it over. They just have too much to lose by releasing it. That's the only reason for suppressing it in the first place.

I don't believe the world will ever see this footage. Hope I'm wrong.

What I have never understood (and it's more of a cultural question than a question of whether the thing was staged or not) is why the father never put his kid next to the wall. If you look at the video the father is hugging the wall and his kid is sitting behind him and from the angle of the shooting therefore far more exposed to gunfire than the father.

I am baffled that the dad didn't swap places with his son and shield him with his (the father's) body as well as the wall. I know damn well that's what I would have done...

Questions.

Hand over to whom? The defendant in the defamation case or to the IDF?

Talal Abu Rahmeh (the photographer) needs to evacuate Gaza and be given asylum in France as quickly as possible. Any French journalist in the Middle East should also take a vacation out of the area around the time that this thing "hits". Precautions should also be taken by local stringers known to work for French media.

The tape might reveal nothing new, but having it shown to a judge, and especially if the results are made public, could lead to reprisals against Talal.

I very much expect for the judge to be informed (oh so regretfully of course) that the footage has been 'lost'.

We shall see.

Fantastic news! That the judge actually requested the footage and refused to proceed without it!

Of course, this should have been the procedure from the start, but better late than never.

The State of Israel should honour Philippe Karsenty and Richard Landes. I expect she will.
