Actually, Richard, you are not to be scorned but pitied. I read your response hoping for a sign of humanity, but all I found was mean-spirited, humorless and grimly predictable LIBERALISM. Before reading your post, I was not yet fully convinced that, as the illustrious Michael Weiner says, “liberalism is a mental disorder” – but you have helped me to come to full agreement with him.
When aggrieved liberals become ploddingly didactic (and I affirm that not all of them react as you do to a bit of cerebral fun), they start out preachy and end up downright BORING.
When you attack a brilliant satirist and graphic artist, you are as sadly amusing as you are dull.

So take a deep breath, have a stiff shot of chamomile tea, do some yoga… and stop yer tiresome holier-than-thou preaching.

Funny how you claim that the conservatives are all “bullies”, and that the liberals are all about “subverting authority”, and then turn around and demand more gov’t control of just about everything in our lives from Obamacare to the “Fairness Doctrine”. If anybody wishes to subvert authority, it’s the conservatives, especially since the liberals pretty much dominate every known corner of the media. I’d actually say that the whole thread surrounding this “unfunny, racist, bigoted, bullying, sadistic site” proves quite the oppposite: it’s because it doesn’t fit your pre-programed mind of a “conservative”, and thus you need to attack it in every way possible so that you can feel adequate. Liberals have been bullying and mocking conservatives for years and years, and yet, the conservatives are bullies? Doublethink at its finest. I’m glad to find out that the People’s Cube is 100% right about you guys.

Conservative ‘humor’ is inherently unfunny because it’s often the ‘humor’ of a bully who picks on the weaker nerds, brown-skinned people, queers, and sissies. It’s funny to bullies and jockish types – to everyone else it’s sadistic and cruel. Not only that, but so much of it is preoccupied with making the bully look cool rather than be funny. It’s almost impossible to be funny with one hand on your manicured hairdo and the other on the throat of some nerd who you resent for showing off his book-smarts in class.

Even in this thread there are people here preoccupied with demeaning lefties and grinding them into the dirt – exactly what a bully does, by controlling the environment to bend reality his way. The truth is there is a lot to like and dislike about conservative and liberal philosophies, but you wouldn’t know that if all you heard were conservative voices berating that which they disagree with – giving us nerds ‘wedgies in the hallway’ if you will.

Left-leaning humor is inherently more about subverting that presumed authority and sticking up for the underdog, which is why it tends to make more people laugh – self-deprecation and wanting to see the underdog stand up for himself as a prankster with a grain of truth what he’s saying is far more appealing. The victims of the asshole jocks need an outlet.

Astonishing that all conservatives are thought to be shrill, racist, intolerant, and homophobic. I’m one of the loudest participants on the People’s Cube and I’m gay and even trade in it, as a devout worker toward the Progressive World of Next Tuesday. I do, and my (fictitious) houseboy Bruno, who dresses like Carmen Miranda.

OMG – I can’t believe anyone can go to the peoples’ cube and not laugh themselves silly. I have to check your site 5 like times a day. My 73 year old father even learned how to bookmark pages just so he could read it (which he does every Sunday afternoon – a couple of times he was choking he was laughing so hard. You are so intelligent and gifted that I cannot put into words how much your site rocks without sounding like a cliche. I heard you on Rush and waited a couple of hours because I thought I might not get through and when I finally did it was like a workers’ paradise. heh!
And your site on youtube with brain-terminal is brill. I am so glad you escaped the despotism of communism. USA is much richer for you here.

Uspace has it right. One of the reasons those the left can’t find don’t find “conservative” humor funny is because they invest emotion in their beliefs rather than reason.

I’ll take on their movement of the moment as an example. Science education. Most urban areas of the country are solidly in Democrat hands and have been for decades. There are dozens of news stories every year about some new teaching method or group of teachers that are “outside of the box” on education. Yet every urban area in this country is a perpetual dropout machine. Yet it completely drives these same people insane that Southern or Mid-West states wish to challenge Darwinism by allowing other theories in the classroom – that are in some cases no more far reaching then Darwinism in some respects. What bothers them about it isn’t that some crackpot theories are going to infiltrate the education system, its already filled with theirs…. taxation creates wealth, human have more affect on climate than the sun, and corporations plot for ways to kill you its someone is challenging their domination.

The People’s Cube is cool. I highly recommend their ‘Progressive Truth Generator’. The Left doesn’t like ‘conservative’ humor that points out the insanities of the Left. Those on the ‘Right’ laugh at a joke that decimates Leftist dogma.

I think the Left ‘gets it’ deep down, where the truth hides, but they don’t laugh at all because they are feeling that they are insulted or have been shown a painful truth they didn’t want to see. Quick verbal jabs at the Left are effective over time I believe. As with other flawed ideologies, Leftism must be mocked.
