I swear, if you put this post in amongst the comments there, and asked people to find the over-the-top parody, they would be totally stumped. In fact, this sentence: "Besides, Chimpy McBushHitler was a stupid, drooling Nazi who started a war for oil and let 9/11 happen on purpose to help make more money for Halliburton." was nearly a verbatim quote (the NYT quote didn't mention Halliburton until the next sentence). Read the column by Joe Klein in Time magazine regarding conservatives and tax protesters, it is barely distinguishable from what was written here. You could stick it in place of this article and it would hardly look any different. Your satire fell flat.
