The Problem of Inbreeding in Islam
[Editor’s note: Several days ago, an interview with Nicolai Sennels by Jamie Glazov on Muslim inbreeding was published but taken down soon after at the request of the author, as it was decided that several themes needed to be buffered by more evidence and research. The final product ended up working best as an article by Nicolai Sennels himself, which is presented below].
There is a dire phenomenon rising in Europe that is crippling entire societies and yet the continent sleeps, refusing not only to confront the destructive elephant in the room, but also to admit its very existence. The troubling reality being referred to is the widespread practice of Muslim inbreeding and the birth defects and social ills that it spawns.
The tragic effect of the left’s control of the boundaries of debate is that any discussion about vital issues such as these marks an individual as an “Islamophobe” and a “racist.” A person who dares to point at the pathology of inbreeding in the Muslim community is accused of whipping up hatred against Muslim people. But all of this could not be further from the truth. To fight against inbreeding anywhere is to defend humanity and to defend innocent babies from birth defects. Fighting against this Islamic practice stems from a pro-Muslim calling, since identifying destructive ideologies and practices in Islam enables the protection of the Muslim people from harm.
Massive inbreeding among Muslims has been going on since their prophet allowed first-cousin marriages more than 50 generations (1,400 years) ago. For many Muslims, therefore, intermarriage is regarded as being part of their religion. In many Muslim communities, it is a source of social status to marry one’s daughter or son to his or her cousin. Intermarriage also ensures that wealth is kept within the family. Islam’s strict authoritarianism plays a large role as well: keeping daughters and sons close gives families more power to control and decide their choices and lifestyles.
Westerners have a historical tradition of being ready to fight and die for their country. Muslims, on the other hand, are bound together less by patriotism, but mainly by family relations and religion. Intermarrying to protect the family and community from outside non-Islamic influence is much more important to Muslims living in a Western nation than integrating into that nation and supporting it.
Today, 70 percent of all Pakistanis are inbred and in Turkey the amount is between 25-30 percent (Jyllands-Posten, 27/2 2009 “More stillbirths among immigrants“). A rough estimate reveals that close to half of everybody living in the Arab world is inbred. A large percentage of the parents that are blood related come from families where intermarriage has been a tradition for generations.
A BBC investigation in Britain several years ago revealed that at least 55% of the Pakistani community in Britain was married to a first cousin. The Times of India affirmed that “this is thought to be linked to the probability that a British Pakistani family is at least 13 times more likely than the general population to have children with recessive genetic disorders.”
The BBC’s research also discovered that while British Pakistanis accounted for just 3.4% of all births in Britain, they accounted for 30% of all British children with recessive disorders and a higher rate of infant mortality. It is not a surprise, therefore, that, in response to this evidence, a Labour Party MP has called for a ban on first-cousin marriage.
Medical evidence shows that one of the negative consequences of inbreeding is a 100 percent increase in the risk of stillbirths. One study comparing Norwegians and Pakistanis shows the risk that the child dies during labor increases by 50 percent. The risk of death due to autosomal recessive disorders — e.g., cystic fibrosis and spinal muscular atrophy — is 18 times higher. Risk of death due to malformations is 10 times higher. Mental health is also at risk: the probability of depression is higher in communities where consanguine marriages are also high. The closer the blood relative, the higher the risk of mental and physical retardation and schizophrenic illness.
And then there are the findings on intelligence. Research shows that if one’s parents are cousins, intelligence goes down 10-16 IQ points. The risk of having an IQ lower than 70 (criterion for being “retarded”) increases 400 percent among children from cousin marriages. An academic paper published in the Indian National Science Academy found that “the onset of various social profiles like visual fixation, social smile, sound seizures, oral expression and hand-grasping are significantly delayed among the new-born inbred babies.” Another study found that Indian Muslim school boys whose parents were first cousins tested significantly lower than boys whose parents were unrelated in a non-verbal test on intelligence.
Well this goes along way in revealing some of the reasons for the almost generic backwardness that spans the Muslim world, despite geogenetic diffrences between muslims from region to region. while lower in IQ they are clearly elevated in frustration and rage. I suppose the author of this study will now have to go into hiding.
You are right. Inbreeding would go a long way in explaining Islam and the antics of muslims. I know about the inbreeding of the ancients.
I suppose I never let inbreeding into my thoughts as something that was widespread. They really are their own worse enemy and dangerous.

This problem is well known among Middle Eastern Arabs and there are Israeli Arab groups dedicated to both exposing the phenomenon of inbreeding among Arabs and the birth and intelligence defects it causes, and in trying to educate the Arab masses to avoid inbreeding.
These groups are fighting an uphill battle against a generations old tradition and have been largely unsuccessful.

Yes, there are very good reasons why consanguinous mating is taboo in every civilized part of the world. The royal families of Europe learned about this the hard way. But then, traditional Christianity prohibits consanguinity, while Islam promotes it.

We must simply forbid intermarriage among first cousins.
How are you going to do that? Unless the state requires a DNA test before handing out marriage licenses, there’s no way to prove people are cousins. And even if DNA tests are required, there’s nothing to prevent cousins being married by an imam without an official marriage license. If you can’t prevent polygamous marriages against Fundamentalist Mormons, you’re not going to prevent cousin marriages either.
There’s no legal way to prevent two people from having children. It’s the cultural attitudes that must change for marriage practices to change.

Wow. What shamelessly dishonest reporting. On for example IQ, the first study you mention makes no attempt to control for the IQ of parents, so there is very little that can be concluded. I guess you don’t understand the difference between correlation and causation. Perhaps this goes to show that a doctoral degree is no substitute for IQ–or not. Anyway, Middle Eastern Jews also practice cousin marriage, as did Egyptians long before embracing Islam. I do not have time right now to refute any more of this.

Mr. Sennels – I suspect that the practice of marrying first cousins is much older than Islam. If you go back to the stories in Genesis you see a raft of close marriages: Abraham marries his half-sister, Sarah; Isaac marries his first cousin, Rebecca; Jacob marries his first cousins, Leah and Rachel; Jacob’s brother Esau, marries descendants from Ishmael, Abraham’s half-brother. Then, of course, there is the odd story of the Rape of Tamar in II Samuel, where Tamar is raped by her half-brother, Amnon! It also appears that in the Second Temple period the Priestly caste tended to have close marriages. The Talmud is replete with stories of the Bath-Cohen (daughter of a Priest) who seems to have somewhat different sexual constraints than the dauther of an Israelite. Of course, today Asheknazi Jews generally do not intentionally practice close marriages.

The practice of preferential cousin marriage is unquestionably older than Islam, as we find it in many isolated societies having nothing to do with Islam. However, Islam figures into this issue as an anti-modern agent (in that as in so many other things… “Retrograde force” as Winston Churchill truly said): Whereas, in the natural course of things, the opening up of societies through modern communication and transportation serves to demotivate cousin marriage, in Islam it persists regardless. Why is that? Because the founder of Islam, pseudoprophet Mohammed, married his cousin (as per cultural custom of his time), and everything Mohammed is believed to have done in his lifetime (the Hadith) is an example for good Muslims to follow.

Muslims consistently ignore our laws as illegitimate “infidel” laws. Do you really think outlawing cousin marriage will have the slightest impact on their barbaric and idiotic practices? Polygamy is illegal in most places in the west, so is genital mutilation and wife beating, and child rape, yet Muslims practice these atrocities widely across the board. This would just be another law which we would not enforce and which the Muslims would trenchantly ignore. Our fecklessness only encourages them to continue adhering to their seditious creed.

I do not know the real education level of this president, in fact I don’t know much about this person running our country, but surely he is bright enough to look at other countries. Can anyone imagine how these concepts would be excoriated by the MSM, Dems, Libs, Celebs, Prof and other agitators in our society? Paying certain immigrants money to “go back to their own country?” Chris Matthews’ leg would not only tingle, it would explode. Preventing foreigners from coming here who are planning to have lots of children to live off the state’s child support system – Harry Reid’s head would explode. Not in our lifetime because we aren’t enlightened like Danes.
That is what will happen now, if I am right about what is going to happen in the near future in Europe and the Middle East these actions may even be started by the left. I doubt they will, but it is possible. As to what I am seeing, I have been watching all of Europe move towards massive civil and race wars, probably in the next decade.

The thing is — Islam is not breeding itself out of existence. Non-Islamic Europeans (from London to Moscow) are breeding themselves out of existence — by not breeding.
One sees much the same pattern in Israel, but not where you think. Yes, over 75% of the country is Jewish, but these are Jews from everywhere, with considerable variety in genetic stock. What used to be referred to as “intermarriage” there wasn’t Jew with non-Jew; it was Ashkenazi with Sephardi, and today it’s quite common. Russian Jew marrying Moroccan Jew; Canadian Jew with Brazilian Jew; French Jew with Tunisian Jew, etc. That makes for healthy genetic mixing (and beautiful Israeli women, as just one benefit).
But among the “closed” communities – the Bedouin and the Druze, for example – one sees the same pattern the writer describes. One also sees it among some ultra-Orthodox communities who, while they don’t marry first cousins, marry those they consider religious enough according to *their* strictures, and they constitute a limited genetic pool. One sees a similar pattern among their counterparts in the “New Square” community in the US – and a higher incidence of birth defects.
We’re still cousins, however. HaGalut (The Diaspora)does not change that.
i thought it was a widely known and scientifically supported fact that inbreeding has effects mentally as well as physically. but then i also thought it was illegal to marry a first cousin in the us for that reason

Stanley Kurtz of the Hoover Institution wrote about the phenomena several years ago in the National Review Online. In most rural societies marrying a first cousin isn’t one of many options; it can be the only option. The problem is not merely marrying first cousins; it is marrying first cousins down the paternal line. Paternal line marriages bind the family much closer together and narrows down the marital options. Many societies engage in first cousin marriage but it is along maternal lines even in a patriarchal culture. This creates alliances with other “tribes” and opens up marital options. First cousin marriage is never a good thing but it is much worse when it is restricted to paternal lineage.
One has to remember that people living rural societies have fewer marital options then urbanites. My mother is from a small farming town in central Canada and while the government was smart enough to bring in a diverse ethnic population (German, Polish and Romanian) after 6 plus generations everybody who remains is related in some way to everybody else. It’s just a population fact of life.
That does not explain the behavior of Muslims in Europe, who live in urban environments.
It most certainly does. Muslims in Europe live an insular community where first cousin patrilineal marriages still dominate. Muslims don’t even inter-marry with other Muslim groups.

Interesting piece, but there’s a lot of complexity not covered. Inbreeding is a tragedy for those who are born with devastating genetic disorders…this is known among Jews of Eastern European origin. But the low IQ argument is questionable. One reason Ashkenazi Jews -on average- have higher IQs and more mental disorders than other people is because of generations of close breeding. All societies and religions condemn breeding between immediate relations, but acceptance of breeding between first cousins is more variable.
Airing this topic seems to be as much a taboo as trying to discuss or debate any other facet of islam.
What is of more interest is how the Danes are trying to limit immigration to those whose values fit with western societies, especially in the face of the monolithic EU and UN. What is stopping the rest of the western world from following the Danish example?
If you are a “nice” person, you are by definition uncomfortable that the US is (for the moment) a dominantly “white” and “Christian” nation. You would really like to see the population of the US look like a cross-section of the world population. Therefore you want to permit people currently “under-represented” in the US population to immigrate to the US in numbers sufficient to achieve your preferred make-up. Currently, Muslims represent only around 1% of the US population. Therefore, “nice” people in a position to devise our immigration strategy are permitting increasing numbers of Muslims to immigrate to the US. Of course, this is done with very little debate or discussion. But obviously anyone who would question the practice of permitting more and more Muslims to come to the US is not “nice”, right?

oboy. One of the ugly legacies of the Nazis and the Commies both is the pollution of genuine health issues, namely eugenics and mental health. The Nazis killed people to “purify” The Race, and the commies abused the concept of mental health treatment by using charges of illness to incarcerate political opposition. To this day, people in the US, which was innocent of these abuses, view any discussion of bad practices common to an ethnic group as potential racism, and any attempt to deal with mental illness as potential political bullying.
This is a shame, because the ill effects of in-breeding can be dissipated easily within a generation or two. All it requires is out-breeding. That’s why mutts have a reputation for being smarter and healthier, both as pets and human beings. Simple refusal of state acknowledgement and reward for inbred marriages is a far cry from irrational discrimination based on race, creed, or color.

This is very interesting in light of another article I read recently, about the preponderance of Arab terrorists who are engineers – and I hope you can follow my half formed logic. One neurological disease with genetic components is autism. Engineers and their families have a higher frequency of autism. I have to wonder now about the frequency of autism in these intermarried families.
My son is autistic, and I can state from experience and research that autistic people are much more susceptible to many of the traits we see in terrorists: social vulnerability, a seeking/need for rigid rules and hierarchy, and lack of empathy for others. I could probably find plenty more.

Coming from a current resident of your southern neighbour, I’ve often thought the Danes were well ahead of the rest of Europe on the issue of immigration. While anyone voicing concerns about the current immigration status quo in Sweden are often accused of racism as a means to silence critique, and in Germany, the government has actively encouraged immigrants to not integrate into society, the Danes have managed to adapt their laws quickly to address problems. As you mentioned, so called “shlepping marriages” where a young bride/groom is selected from the host country, who incidentally is often a close relative, have been forbidden in Denmark for several years now. Denmark also quickly developed a programme for highly skilled migrants to help streamline the process in order to allow educated foreigners to live and work there while making it much more difficult for the low and non-skilled migrants. Additionally, the country has developed a no tolerance policy with regards to honour killings. Denmark is well ahead of the curve in Europe regarding establishing a sensible migration policy that protects migrants rights while making sure that migration benefits the population that is already in the host country.
I hope that the rest of Europe follows your example. In the meantime, I am looking forward to reading your book.

Recently I have read a study that showed that over 70% of Arabs were totally illiterate, another study showed that Arabic was counter intuitive and hard to learn. The inbreeding studies have also been ongoing for a time, it all shows up a population that is easily led and swayed by the dictates of the Imams. We are indeed suffering from the pendulum swinging far too far back in response to the atrocities of the Nazis. Presently, we have complete denial among our so-called elites on the topic of genetics and inherited traits.

Very interesting! It proposes a biological explanation for what otherwise seems inexplicable. It is so PC to deny the variation in humanity, but it is real and has real consequences.
Throughout human history, the jury has been pretty divided on whether first-cousin marriages are immoral–whether they constitute criminal incest. Even within the West, the practice isn’t universally condemned on grounds of morality or societal taboo, which seem like the only admissible reasons for outlawing it. Too much history and too many counterexamples to declare it a civilization-wide taboo.
On the other hand, Sennels’s notion of outlawing first-cousin wedlock because of its genetic drawbacks–however real they might be–is a purely eugenic reason for proscribing marriage. I wouldn’t countenance such diktats from the government on the grounds of IQ tests or socioeconomic status, and I don’t on the grounds of consanguinity. This explains something baffling I discovered recently.
Not too long ago, I stumbled across a list of intelligence tests ranked by nation. While the countries at the very top of the list are pretty much what you might expect—mainly wealthy Asian countries like Japan and Singapore—I was surprised to find Israel much further down the list than I had expected. Because when you look at similar charts broken down by ethnicity, Jews always come out on top, above even Asians. I was mystified by this, so I started researching a bit deeper, and found the reason: Israel’s national IQ rating would be the highest in the world if it only included its Jewish citizens. But if you take into account the large Arab and Muslim population, the national average drops precipitously, because the average Arab IQ in Israel was shockingly low. I forget the exact numbers, but it was lower than you would even assume in a worst-case scenario. When they combined with the very high Jewish scores, the overall average turned out to be nothing to shout about–in the middle of the pack as a nation.
I was a bit baffled as to why Arabs in Israel would have such amazing low intelligence test scores, considering that they were often wealthier than Arabs in neighboring nations who had equally low scores; the higher socio-economic standing did nothing to raise their results.
The answer, as revealed here, is that it’s almost certainly a genetic artifact of generation after generation of inbreeding. Arab traditions are strong, even in Israel.
We saw the same thing in 18th- and 19th-century Appalachia, where geographic isolation in the “hollers” led to limited mate selection pool, and a whole lot of inbreeding. Anne: I wondered when the “Mormon” thing would come up. If you really did “read up” on Mormons, you would know that polygamy has been outlawed in the Mormon Church for a century or more. There are a lot of unanswered questions in this article. After 4,000 years of inbreeding, you would think that Muslims would have devolved and become subhuman by now. And shouldn’t they be facing extinction from hemophilia and other incurable genetic disorders? That’s how Nature eliminates inbreeds that could damage a gene pool. I wonder if the origin of this Biblical requirement is that the Jews of ancient times had a society which was agriculturally based and, more specifically, one based on herding of animals. Again, the problem of family wealth and keeping agriculturals lands and herds concentrated within the family becomes a dominant cultural force.
