The Paranoid Style Is Alive and Well in Some Conservative Quarters
One of the most confounding critiques of President Obama from the right has been the expressed belief that the president of the United States has deliberately initiated policies that he knew would injure the economy and the country. In short, Barack Obama wants to destroy America.
Several different motivations are given for this traitorous behavior. Rush Limbaugh thinks it’s because Obama wants as much of the population as possible to fall into dependency on government, thus giving Democrats a permanent majority because everyone knows poor people vote Democratic. Others believe it’s because the president is a socialist/Communist and in order to remake America, it must first be destroyed.
Darker conspiracies that combine the most paranoid parts of the birther narrative with Cold War revanchist nightmares involving a plot line ripped from the film The Manchurian Candidate (the sublime Frank Sinatra version, not the Denzel Washington turkey) provide a little comic relief to the dourness of the subject matter. Obama as the unholy offspring of Frank Davis or Malcolm X, groomed from birth by the international Communist conspiracy to become leader of the free world, programmed to remake America into a Marxist dictatorship, gives the entire proposition of Obama as Destroyer of America a slightly hysterical tinge.
Thankfully, most on the right don’t go quite that far over the cliff in positing the notion that President Obama has deliberately set out to bring America down. Still, there is a desperate paranoia at work among some conservatives if one were to take the notion seriously that this president — any president — would purposefully set the nation on a course where America’s destruction would be the end result. In order to believe that proposition, you have to also believe that the president is not just an incompetent, indecisive, empty suit in way over his head as chief executive, but that he is the personification of evil.
Conservative film critic, talk show host, and political commentator Michael Medved recently penned an article for the Wall Street Journal that attempted to address this phenomenon and place it in a realistic political context:
None of the attacks on Mr. Obama’s intentions offers an even vaguely plausible explanation of how the evil genius, once he has ruined our “strength, influence and standard of living,” hopes to get himself re-elected.
The exact same question could have been directed at liberals who believed George W. Bush “lied” about WMD in Iraq in order to plunge the U.S. into a war for oil. Logic would dictate that if Mr. Bush knew beforehand that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, he either deliberately set out to be a one-term president or, even more bizarrely, wished to lose the war so that his “lie” would never be discovered. As it was, Bush won a second term by the narrowest of margins — less than 100,000 votes in Ohio — proving the potency of that particular conspiracy theory with the electorate. Two committees of Congress and an independent commission found no evidence of Bush pre-war lies about WMD (but plenty of mishandling and misjudging of intelligence) which proves how hard it is for the truth to catch up to any conspiracy theory.
Ah, but we have Obama making that very claim about not caring about re-election just recently. In an interview with Diane Sawyer that aired on January 24, President Obama said: “I’d rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president.”
You would have to be near brain dead to believe that rot. The man has been running for re-election before he sat down in the Oval Office for the first time. When he made that statement three weeks ago, he had already greenlighted his political machine to start the laborious process of fundraising and outreach in battleground states. Unless you believe he really doesn’t care about a second term and is doing all of this for show, the only possible explanation is that he is in it to win it and — his fake humility notwithstanding — believes what the polls are telling him despite his rotten record: he stands an excellent chance of beating any Republican on the horizon.
The purity of the idea that Obama is deliberately out to destroy the economy and the country gets a little muddied when washed through the logic machine. But there is a slight variation to the argument that almost makes it sound plausible: President Obama is not consciously trying to destroy the country — he just can’t help himself.
In this scenario, the president has good intentions for America but his warped view of the country forces him to enact policies that are disastrous. His is a creative destruction. He wishes to bring down our capitalist system and replace it with the soft socialism that he believes will be much fairer. He seeks to deliberately weaken America because we are too strong and it’s not fair to other countries. He wants to bend the Constitution to its breaking point — or beyond — because it is too restrictive of government action that would make life fairer for all.

You can tell that a writer has jumped the shark most clearly when he starts insulting his readership.
What little sense was there is now gone in Mr. Moran.
I agree. Predictably clueless.
Agree as well. Anyone who disagrees is a paranoid conspiracy theorist. No need to to interject facts, summarily dismiss those who do not share your opinion. It requires less brain cells and can be used for any argument. Nice job.
Exactly Moonfish. Question anything and you’re labeled paranoid. Is this Moran on loan from Daily KOS?
Exchange the “o” for an “a” towards the end in his last name and he has definitely earned his last name and title fully and completely.
You see, for naysayers, stuff can’t be predicted or warned against until they hit the wall with a straight-on [and with full-force] direct “ker-splat!”. Otherwise, fingers in ears, lots of “la la la I can’t heaaaaaaar you” goes on, until little Johnny is wading in a cesspool of crap up to his ears.
Sad innit?
Once we’re awakened to some real threats, name-calling, including accusations of paranoia, won’t put us back to sleep so easily.
Ed, clearly Moran has adopted the kool aid.
To be sure, there is a treasure trove of information-both from direct sources and from Obama’s history and policies over the past 2 yrs-which renders Moran’s thesis DOA.
The fact of the matter is that his thesis falls apart merely by citing the history and radical thinking/activities of ALL his staff and czars.
What part of radical leftist does Moran NOT get?I am not referring to guilt by association, but a radical left resume that would make Alinsky and Cloward Piven giddy with delight.
By the way, Obama has NEVER denied his affinity and adherence to any of the above.
Moran, get with the program, and stop sucking up to the goons from the left!
Put it this way: What would Obama have done differently if he actually WERE trying to destroy the US?
Nothing.
Who is obama, or anyone else for that matter (from the faustian left), to decide what is “fair” and how to enforce it?
It only proves the old dictum- “You cannot have a socialist state without a gestapo to enforce it
“.
Welll I would be upset at this guy but I don’t even know who he is but common sense seems to be lacking. Maybe he’s David frum’s long lost brother who knows??
Craig, I think Moran is the guy that brought Ruben Navarette on board.
Quack! Quack!
Well, you certainly took conservatives to task on paranoia due to excessive partisanship. Which I think is good. I also think it is good to be a little paranoid about people in power. Human history is full of leaders with super sized egos going off the deep end and doing some very bad things. While I agree that Obama is attracted, and partially driven by radical leftist ideas and causes, I think his inflated sense of himself is the primary driving force in what he does. I’m not surprised that he wants to be re-elected. He has tasted the power of office and doesn’t want to let it go. His ability to convince a large number of people to believe that he would make a good president when he hadn’t accomplished anything notable, makes him believe he can do it again. That is also probably how he managed to snag his academic degrees. If he keeps getting reinforced for his abilities to con people he could become more dangerous. On top of that, I don’t sense that he has much capacity to care about others, nor much ability to acknowledge personal deficits. These kind of personal characteristics warrant careful scrutiny and are not uncommon in destructive leaders.
A charming observayion. James makes this observation:
~ Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.~
It looks to me like obama was drawn by the power and prestige of the office but disdains the responsibility. A lot of that responsibility he has passed to his Czars and other bureaus but not Congress. He is not far off the course I expected him to take. Does that make me paranoid?

I am a firm believer in the philosophy that you should not attribute to malevolence what can be explained by incompetence. I think Obama’s policies can be explained that as pandering to the liberal masses and doing what is politically expedient for a liberal politician.
However I do think he correctly understands the consequences to the country that his policies and he thinks those consequences are good. Whether you call that malevolence, conspiracy or incompetence is an opinion not a fact and so there is no basis for criticism of the conspiracy theorists.
The fact is that Obama doesn’t care about the consequences of national bankruptcy, failure to support our allies, government micromanagement of the economy, selective enforcement of civil rights laws, union thuggery, politicization of the justice department, etc etc. He thinks these things are good.
When someone writes down his plans for destroying you, talks about his plans for destroying you, and then begins implementing his plans for destroying you, it is irrational to attribute his activities to incompetence.
If you are unaware of Obama’s statements and writings to this effect, and his adherence to an ideology (Marxism) that has been talking and writing about the same agenda for more than a century, I suggest you spend a modicum of effort to familiarize yourself with the issue before you form an opinion on it.
If you were to actually read the communist and humanist Manifestos, you would probably be shocked at how well their plans mirror the events of the last century. Or rather, how well the events mirror the plans.
Aided by many “useful idiots” (such as the author of this column), of course.
Mark sounds like a well informed opinion. I don’t see any real change from the Bolsheviks that my grandfather told me about as he was growing up in the 1870s. Organized Labor is solidly founded on these principles and just as violent as any jihadist in their application. Obama fits this profile but has not demonstrated the mass (as in physics) necessary for his accomplishments(?) indicating that he has a power behind him that is superior to Obama, himself. He is a focal point but not the power. Whether this power is spirit or flesh and blood I cannot say for sure but all indications point to spirit. Something that invokes our own individual lusts and desires. James says we are drawn of our own lusts, James 1:14, but it is a spirit that dangles that desire like the few grains of corn we use to toll a hog into a pen.
Like O’Reilly they make their own bed under a denial comforter of media whitewash and total omission of historical facts. Perhaps this mass party blindness can be cleared up by information available on the WWW. It is the greatest threat to exposure of all modern forms of corruption yet to come down the pike. They have the key but refuse to open the door. Regardless of their claims, understanding may be found here:
1 John 4:6
What I don’t get is why it seems so hard to believe that Obama may actually, legitimately hate America. Millions of other Americans do, why not one who has managed to get himself elected? He surrounds himself with people who hate America, has a wife who admits to never being proud of her country, etc etc. I really do feel like I somehow stumbled over to Frum’s garbage heap.
I’ll accept the thesis that Obama is not setting out with evil in his heart. I do believe that he is at best a mediocre intellect who has slid through life because people give him extra points for his skin color. That would explain why he continues to conceal his school records and writings. The illusion that he is so incredibly smart would melt if people were to see his actual grades and read work he actually wrote.
Might we go on to suggest a third way here? The man’s inherent lack of true competence combined with doing what he truly does feel will be “fair”, but with one additional factor. He is a creature of the Chicago political machine. A machine that runs on cronyism and corruption.
While the cronyism is, naturally, not part of “fair” Obama may feel that as long as the corrupt are HIS corrupt, well, it will all smooth out in the end.
Under this third way we have someone who is not exactly masterful (born out by his record in office) who is doing what he sees as best (though it is clearly not what we would consider best) who is beholden to and part of a corrupt political machine. An explanation that relies not at all on supposing conspiracy or malicious intent.
~ Da 4:17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.~
We nominate and elect our leaders so how can this apply to us in our day and age? Because, like in the days of Samuel we desire the arm of flesh to the guidance of the Spirit. We demonstrated this when we elected Franklin Delano Roosevelt and have not deviated from that choice.
We have slandered every candidate who would repudiate this system and claimed that it was untouchable. We even ran incompetents against incompetents so there would be little choice. What power was ruling over us to make this happen?
The New Deal, which relied on the arm of flesh, is antagonistic to our Constitution but to challenge any part of that New Deal erupted in strong and sometimes violent opposition. None of our potential leaders opposing this agenda were given a fair shake, even Ronald Reagan. Yet we find that the New Deal was based on the Bolshevik concept of prosperity and not our Constitutional concept. The fruit of this tree has been consistent to the tree, itself.
Currently we are focused on the personality rather than on the system. forget the personality and focus on the system and we will find the right answers to this conundrum.
The question most apposite to Obama’s motives is Are they relevant? Though I believe them to be evil, I maintain that what matters most are the easily foreseeable consequences of his policies. An overtly anti-American president would do very little differently.
Military analysts, in studying the enemy’s moves, reason “backwards:” From tactics to strategy to objectives to motives. The successful ones get promoted and good notices in the history books; the unsuccessful ones are disgraced, or executed in the post-defeat purges. Food for thought.
Is death by ricochet any less permanent than by direct hit? Patriots that wish to survive must by any means avoid both whether conspiratorial or personally directed out of ignorance.
Good article, nice to see a sane republican. you forgot to mention the “secret muslim”-meme wich Glenn Beck is slowly feeding, that the president is a sleeperagent of both the communists AND the Muslim Brotherhood, who wishes to impose sharia-law on the US and has legions of muslim stormtroopers hidden in rural encampments ready to take power. Thats right after the caliphate has over-run Europe with the help of … umm… the Pakistani navy? Or something.
The real point seems to be that the paranoid style indicates a unwillingness to fight for your own ideas. When you have nothing to contribute to a conversation, but want the attention anyway, the only option is to scream and shout at your opponent. It doesnt get results, but it hinders the opposition from achieving their results.
Except that Glenn is not feeding the “Obama is a secret Muslim” theme. He’s merely pointing out that the Left is in bed with radical Muslims, and points it out by using the words of both the Left and radical Muslims.
Moran is willfully blind.
“the only option is to scream at your opponent”, isn’t that what the left and the democrat party in general does all the time? Moreover, if Obama isn’t antiamerican and doesn’t want to destroy the American economic and political system, what, I ask myself, would he do differently?
Several errors. Fnord. Obama is not constrained by any part of our Constitution even when it does clip his wings. He is not guided by the wisdom found in our Bibles so he is not a follower of Christ. Neither is there any indication that he is under the influence of any doctrine found in the Koran which would make him Muslim but he has consistently championed the philosophy of the Bolshevik/Communists. I believe that would make his a Socialist. They are currently quite busy stirring up stife in Muslim Nations. He champions the needs of the poor with his lips but not with his pocketbook. We need to get a GPS reading on where his heart is.
The TSA should be proof enought that Obama has an available army that would implement a government takeover. Why believe that Obama is conscientiously working for our benefit when what he has done to date has had the opposite effect? You cannot go into debt to someone who has nothing to lend. You cannot use debt as income. You cannot run on an empty fuel tank and our national debt shows that we have been running on borrowed fuel in the sense that we are using debt for income.
We should remember that the lender always retains title to his property or it is not a loan but a gift. If this is paranoia then so be it.
Bingo. His walk and his talk are completely consistent, and they are a Socialist (Marxist) walk and talk.
The “secret Muslim” accusation is absurd on its good days, but to ignore his consistent Marxist history, rhetoric, and agenda is even more absurd.
Good one. Way to call out the “racist violent Nazi teabaggers” for screaming and shouting at their opponents. You have lifted the scales form my eyes.
In war (and this is war), hindering the opposition from achieving their results, IS getting results.
Very clever, Mr. Moran. Valid points well camouflaged.
So well camoflagged I couldn’t find them at all.
More condescending claptrap from Moran. Thanks PJM.
Let’s see, we have the lyingest President in history and we’re paranoid if we throw out some theories about the man. good grief.
Consider the litany:
Two fictitious, ghostwritten ‘autobiographies’ by age 40,
A presidential campaign against a feckless and fatuous straw candidate John McCain,
An unscrupulous, dishonest, worshipping, mass media to carry his water and attack his enemies,
Inaction on the Black Panther voter intimidation case in Philadelphia,
Unjustified drilling moratorium in defiance of a court order,
Ignoring the court with regard to Obamacare,
Associations with corrupt organizations such as ACORN, corrupt policies such as the Pigford fraud.
The fact is that many people don’t trust Obama. They think he’s as rotten as a man can be and ascribe malice to his motives. So John McCain Moran and Lindsay Graham Medved think Obama’s a swell guy and think that those of us who have a lower opinion of him are paranoid. Who cares?
Sounds about right. This piece reminds me of the period of mass conservative defections from FrontPage Mag. This was when David H came out and declared that all Birthers and similar folks were insane and enemies of the conservative cause. It looks like previous criticism of Rick’s articles has pushed farther into the ‘extreme middle’, which is basically no place at all in the current US political environment.
Don’t forget the millions he’s spent in legal costs to close his entire life’s paper trail. There is just something really creepy and crooked about that. Call me paranoid all you want!
The author is a liar and propagandist. His lips are obviously firmly affixed to the backside of barack obama, right next to those of michael medved.
Dear Mr Moran,
I think you are overlooking an obvious point. The man himself said we were going to “fundamentally transform” the country. You set the wheels in motion, you don’t finish the job before the election (duh). Just for a moment, imagine that the supposedly paranoid people are right. What would be your best cover? (other than the media). The sheer audaciousness, the incredulity of it, and most importantly, the fear of normal intelligent people not wanting to be thought of as wackos.
If Obama’s policies don’t make you afraid, I congratulate you on your confidence and lack of paranoia. I, however, feel afraid and maybe smarter.
When a president sets out to cripple our oil producing industry, refuses to deal with the anarchy threatening our southern border, and drives us into the ground by borrowing money from one of our enemies ( China) what the hell else are we supposed to think??!! He is evil, and a mooslem sympathizer at best. Moran- remove your braincase from your behind and see the truth. I am again amazed that PJM publishes this drivel. . . .Are they going the way of FOX news?
Head, meet hole in the sand…
By your words, decisions, and actions, we will know thee!! Who gives a crap about your hair splitting of what this president is or isn’t. We know what he believes, we know who he has been hanging out with his whole life, and we know his socialist/collectivist proclivities. Enough said. He is anti American and I don’t care what his motives are. I just want him out of the White House. And to the presss and other idiots who have given him cover, I say you will likely have less and less work as the public becomes aware of your outrageous mendacity over the past two years. Seems like an eternity!
Well as for me,I believe my lying eyes before I believe someone’s opinion that doesnt live in the real world and most probably has tunnel vision. But to be honest,I just think he is a Left Winger.
It seems to defy credulity that a man, whose grandfather who raised him was a Communist, whose teenage mentor was a Communist/pedophile, whose early Chicago career was lauched by a 1960s anarchist/Communist (Bill Ayers, whose wife was thrilled those who murdered pregnant actress Sharon Tate, used a fork to stab her belly, then ate a meal at the table by the dead mother and baby), whose spiritual leader for 20 years taught black separation and hatred of white people from the pew. What kind of idiot would think such a person could wish ill on our Country? Certainly the above well known facts point to someone who loves America and would only want the best for it.
I am glad we have Rick Moran to remind us that Obama is driven by a love for the country, and wishes no more than success for all of us, including the GM bondholders, the GM and Chrysler auto dealers, the farmers in central CA with dry land, the Gulf Coast oil workers, the New England fishermen, the West Va. And Ohio coal miners, the people who try to run Banks, oil company engineers and managers, the people who used to work in the factories that used to make incandescent light bulbs (now closed), etc., etc., etc.
Comparing liberal cries of Bush lying vs. conservatives cries of “tear down this country”. Now that’s an interesting discussion. I am pretty sure Mr. Moran has not read Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals”. And I’m pretty sure that there are many more like Mr. Moran who, for whatever reason, are unable to grasp the fact that anarchists, fascists, and communists,(Levin calls them all statists), want nothing more than absolute power, at whatever the cost. There is no excuse for the level and degree of lying that is espoused by our president and his administration. There is no rational purpose for that, unless you read Amity Schlaes’ “The Forgotten Man” and learn that FDR did the same thing for the same reason….perpetual and total control of the country. Because this end does not resonate with most Americans, BHO has been able to accomplish much, saying one thing and doing exactly the opposite!! Because of his intention to deceive and mislead, and his continuing “ignorance” or willful destruction of our economy, it’s hard to believe that there is any other reason except that which is proposed by the “rambling” right wing nutjobs on radio: Cloward Piven is alive and well and wants to destroy our country and put it into chaos. Besides, we know SO MUCH ABOUT THIS MAN’S HISTORY, RIGHT??!! We can look back and put our finger right on the place where he acquires his economic chops. And we can see where he developed his character as an early child. Oh, right, IT’S ALL LOCKED UP. How does that happen? How do I lock up my background? especially if I want to run for the most influential job in the country, if not the world? I can’t. So, I vote with the right wing nut jobs…nothing else makes any sense.
Mr. Moran — 35% of polled Democrats believed that Bush was complicit in 9/11, a lunatic enormity way beyond the plausibility that Obama may share the Leninist/Alinskyite/Pivenite belief that “things have to get worse before they can get better”.
The theory of “creative destruction” is a fundamental tenet of the Marxist theory that informs Obama’s world-view.
Obama may be a feckless and incompetent Marxist, (anb thank God for that), but he’s a Marxist nevertheless.
My old grandmama used to say, “Pretty is as pretty does.” So,evil is as evil does. Maybe, Mr. Moran, you could tell Mr. Obama that the initiation of the use of physical force is the one great evil in the world. Being the good-hearted, well-intentioned soul that he is, I’m sure he’d immediately cease and desist from his coercive laws and regulations. Go on . . . I dare you . . .

RE: Paranoid?
You betcha. I was trained to be such by the BEST. The US Army where, in the field, they really ARE ‘out to get you’.
The training included such schooling as the Ranger Course, the Command and General Staff College and some other places of ‘higher education’.
The point? Well…you DO learn how to recognize ‘patterns of behavior’ and ‘indicators’ that can give you better insight into what someone or some group is up to. Somethings that you apparently haven’t quite learned very well since “your president”—as you described him back in 2008—took power.
On the other hand, I’d like you to show US anything ‘significant’ that Obama did that was GOOD for US.
I won’t be holding my breath.
Regards,
Chuck(le)
[If it's bad for America, Obama will do it.]
A paranoid is someone who knows a little of what’s going on.
And it keeps free men alive on the field of battle.
And as Sir Winston Churchill said….
Politics is like war. We may even have to use poison gas.
With martial law imposed and the public unconstitionally disarmed due to some ginned-up “national emergency” (heck, the N.O.P.D did it during Hurricane Katrina)…any Administration worries about future election losses would be moot at best. Read some 20th Century history and you’ll find that such a “conspiracy theory” is not really that far-fetched.
P.S. I see that the SCOTUS is looking into looking for Obama’s birth certificate, i.e., a signed and sealed one. Not the one ‘your president’ has proffered.
Yes, Chuck, and the lawyer bringing on the case makes some very convincing points. The details are here:

RE: The ‘Case’
Yeah. I saw the same article. Learned a couple of things too, about how those two feminazis Obama appointed have to recuse themselves from considering the case.
Interesting stuff, that.
On the other hand, I’ll wager dollars-to-donuts that Obama is trying to find a way to forge a birth certificate as part of his defense. Probably with a doctor who is no longer on this side of the ‘turf’…..if he wasn’t cremated…..
At this point it’s moot – Obama does not need a birth certificate. The only Constitutional manner to remove a sitting President is impeachment, and that won’t happen. If anyone is stupid enough to try it, Obama’s bounceback will make Clinton’s recovery look like flatlining.
Face it, were a Kenyan birth certificate notarized by the Chief Justices of the Kenyan and US supreme courts and the Secretary General of the UN plus the Pope and Dalai Lama to surface, Obama would still be President until at least January 2013. Personally I’d like to see the original, simply because Obama has been so artful in concealing it. There’s probably something there that is innocuous but would shake the carefully crafted image Obama has created for us to adore. Maybe his name’s really “Barry.” Perhaps his last name is “Dunham.” Maybe his mother’s status is single. Whatever, it’s likely something trivial, and only damaging to a narcissist’s ego.
But nobody’s getting a mulligan based on a speculative birth certificate.
You have to go back to the WND site. Buried in there some place is the statement that a legal birth cirtificate is required to prove who Obama’s father was. After you have that document, you can file in court that Obama does not meet the requirement of a “Natural Born Citizen” (Law of Nations, 1758) having two parents who are citizens. The heresay that Obama’s father was a British citizen is insuficient evidence to prove that claim. So is the “proof of live birth” from Hawaii. We need to legally prove the paternity before the next election. One state is talking about requiring the proof of eligibility before a name can be placed on the state ballot. That is a unique and excellent idea. Spread the word. Many states are exhibiting behavior that would make them receptive to implementing such a requirement.
Karl Rove is usually dead wrong.
If you believe that Mr. Obama has good intentions for America, please tell us then why he lies compulsively about the numbers on the economy, what his health-care takeover will really do to America, etc.
When someone can’t let the truth of their ideas see the light of day or evaluate the consequences of their policies with the data, I cannot believe they have good intentions. (I always evaluate “good” from my perspective.) So, it makes me wonder what their true intentions are…. while I may not agree with the conspiracy theories out there, you’ve got to admit they make you think about the possibilities.
Any cop worth his pension would tell you there is no such thing as “coincidence” Rick.
As they used to say in the OSS:
If you’re not paranoid, you’re not in command of all the facts.
“Instead, we are confronted with the ridiculous and pathetic evidence that the president and his advisors have advanced policies believing that they would create millions of jobs, reduce the deficit eventually, solve our health care crisis, give capitalism a “human face” by polishing off the rough edges, and make America stronger by turning our enemies into friends.”
This is Moran’s alternate theory of the Obama administration. What are the theories upon which these policies are based? In order to advance such policies, do you not have to believe that the private sector is incapable of producing jobs (but if the private sector is incapable of producing jobs, hasn’t it been a parasite upon the public sector, and hasn’t it been using it’s ill-gained wealth to retain that parasitic relationship?); don’t you have to believe that the reason for the deficit is that the rich and corporations aren’t paying their fair share (but in that case, through what evil machinations have they been avoiding paying?); dion’t you have to believe that the reason for the health care crisis is the greed of insurance companies (but, then… ditto the parentheses above); and to believe that America will be stronger (in what sense–what will we be able to do that we couldn’t before?) through these means don’t you have to believe, that through our own ehtnocentrism and imperialism we have been turning potential friends into enemies over the past so many decades?
And, finally, don’t you have to believe that the American public has been duped into supporting all these policies, and therefore now need to be un-duped or re-duped if that proves impossible (or re-educated or even punished if it turns out that the American public is every bit as greedy and narrow minded as its rulers)?
In other words, we end up in the same place–the “fundamental transformation” of what must be a fundamentally flawed country. Now, this does create a problem for re-election–but a big part of the solution to the problem is, indeed, to mobilize all those dependent upon government largesse to fight for the continuance of such largesse; and it makes perfect sense that creating more dependents will be necessary to win.
Lots of questions, Adam and not off the mark, either. Some considerations that are not usually considered:
It is the customer that creates jobs. Businesses supply that demand and hire people to produce the gadgets that are in demand or the necessary services needed to supply that demand.
The customer is a free agent with the wherewithal to consummate a trade, usually cash money that he gets from working for businesses or from a profit making business. He will not pay more for any product than it is worth to him, which does include health care. A business must have a paying customer that is willing to buy his offering at a profit to the business. Otherwise he is out of business.
When government ballast(taxes, mandates and rules, such as imposed but the EPA and other such agents) pushes the price above the market that products is no longer available. Have you noticed the gaps on our business shelves lately? Or the fluff coming from China to hide those gaps?
Insurance has no other responsibility than to spread the financial risk of the possible but unexpected. We are always at risk of a collision when driving in traffic so a small insurance premium is more desirable than the loss of the vehicle. The insurance company knows that out of ten thousand vehicles, how many they will have to cover but they cannot tell you which one is going to be in a wreck. Therefore they can sell a policy of $XX and if some drunk runs a red light, totaling the vehicle you will be compensated. The insurance company is not doing this out of their wages but out of their obligation to your risk which you and your co-insured have paid for out of your own pockets. This system has worked quite well and the insurance companies are not greedy if they don’t honor an uncovered liability.
Note how our health insurance has been twisted to gloss over this unavoidable fact as though they owe the individual all his medical expense. The only way this can be done is to sell enough insurance to enough people at a high enough price to cover that obligation out of your premium and still get paid for their services. If that prices them out of the market then that insurance will not be available. When the government promises subsidy they are saying that they will spend our money in ways that we would not. Franklin Delano Roosevelt said he had to do what he did to put money in circulation but it has steadily and consistently killed jobs and taken money out of circulation, making us slave labor for his and the continuing New Deal. Not all of this is obvious so you do need to do research and study.
Rick: You’re an idiot: A useful idiot, perhaps, but an idiot nonetheless.
Let’s analyze this for a moment. Obama is intentionally enacting his program. The populace doesn’t want the program because they reasonably perceive it will be destructive of the American way of life, and, therefore the country, as we know it. With knowledge of this, the President persists in his plan, thinking it will be “better” for the country because he is re-making it the way he thinks it should be.
Obama lacks the specific intent to destroy the country, but he specifically intends to take the actions which will lead to that result. Does he desire to destroy the country? Not in his view. Will it destroy the country? Yes.
The author’s theme is a distinction without a difference. What difference does it make that Obama lacks the specific intent to destroy the country if that is the natural consequence of his actions?
Does the queen’s killer get a pass because, intending to kill the king, he missed and instead killed the queen? No.
Mr. Moran seems to be one of those white-wine-and-brie, Washington-think-tank, entitled Republican “intellectuals”, aka a Rino. He certainly ain’t no Conservative.
Oh… here comes PJM’s other fairness-doctrine hire. I wonder why they let him in here.
Let me summarize:
Assume, without basis, that the conservative position is irrational. Using the preceding assumption, prove that the conservatives, holding irrational positions, are irrational. QED.
Obama is a European socialist and he wants the United States to be just like the socialist nations in Europe. Everything he has done in his first two years of government, especially Obamacare, proves this. Now, if you want to say that by going down the path of socialism it will destroy this nation, that could probably be up for debate. But considering in what horrible financial shape all of the European nations are in and how broke they all are because of their socialism, it’s up to you to decide whether or not we will also face bankruptcy if we go down that same path. If you take a look at Wisconsin today, it isn’t that much different than what Greece is going through right now. It will also be what California, New York, and Illinois will be facing in the very near future. So is Obama trying to destroy this country? Well, if he continues with these fiscal policies, he will whether he wants to or not.
Mr. Moran you are going to take a lot of heat for writing this article, not because anyone is paranoid, but because you came within a micro-inch of calling it just like it is.
You knew this beforehand, which leads me to believe that you are no different than those you are attempting to define or put into perspective. Hence, in like manner to Rush Limbaugh you chose to use a sledge hammer that bashes everyone, instead of calling it like it is.
In example, the ongoing popularity of pressuring elected officials by ripping all government workers to shreds instead of pointing out the huge disasters resulting from the incompetence of certain protected minorities or the enormous failures of their own enterprises.
Without any doubt for Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levine or any other political figurehead to make this sort of distinction would be a career ending mistake. The fatal flaw in doing business this way is; that the more their efforts succeed the greater the strength of the intended targets (minorities) become because of the very protections that stops Limbaugh and others in the first place. It is easier to counter political charges of bigotry and racism by publicly humoring it while the real secret is the deep, dark, hidden thinking that says “We can get rid of them by gutting the entire structure…”
So by design, is the truth detector as pure and white as fresh snow is a question that will never be answered anymore than Lucy will actually let Charley Brown kick the football and end her game.
For whatever American politics are or are not, the entire thing is a huge game that keeps everyone involved busy and in business. People can say that they are convinced that Obama is determined to destroy America or that Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck are paranoid, it does not matter.
The facts are that they have all mastered the game; the one that keeps lining their pockets with more (of our) gold with every day that passes.
Rick, take your blinders off, you’re sounding like a liberal…
You think it’s paranoia ?
A President who casts Egypt’s turmoil in his own language of “hope” and “change” ?
Old Frances Piven wondering why more rioters aren’t in the street, turning America into Greece ?
“Workers of the world unite from Cairo to Madison, Wisconsin” is empty rhetoric ?
belief that the president of the United States has deliberately initiated policies that he knew would injure the economy and the country. In short, Barack Obama wants to destroy America…
You don’t have to go that far to grok the basic fact that this President doesn’t have a lot of use for this country and its Constitution, a document he has criticized for its litany of strictures on the federal government.
…how the evil genius, once he has ruined our “strength, influence and standard of living,” hopes to get himself re-elected…A president who knowingly creates conditions that make his re-election nearly impossible?
Approximately 53% of the population of the United States was dumber than a box of rocks in 2008. Barack likely figures he can rope some more dopes in 2012 (continued spending, free lunches, etc.) despite his own (ridiculously untruthful) disclaimer that he’d rather be a good one term President than a mediocre 2 term President.
Mediocrity at this point would look good. This President has demonstrated incompetence in everything he has touched. Also rudeness vis à vis our allies, phony obeisance to (amused) tyrants and downright crudeness, such as going out of his way to return the bust of Winston Churchill to Great Britain.
America would be insane to re-elect this guy, but America ain’t too bright these days.
Barack’s counting on that, as he reaps the rewards of the dumbing down of the American populace that precedes, even, his own birth in the early 1960′s.
“Approximately 53% of the population of the United States was dumber than a box of rocks in 2008….Mediocrity at this point would look good. This President has demonstrated incompetence in everything he has touched…
America would be insane to re-elect this guy, but America ain’t too bright these days.”
All brilliantly stated. My hat is off to you sir.
The question isn’t, does he want to destroy our economy? The question is, if he did want to destroy our economy, how much different would his policies look?
What happened, is there an invisible link to the Huffington Post at work? What is the opposite of the paranoid style? The asleep on your feet style or the useful idiot style? May Moran should make a quick trip to Wisconsin to get educated.
isn’t pajamas media suppsed to be conservative? i think rick ”lefty” moran would be better off writing for huff po. and ruben ”i love illegals” navarette also has go to. come on now, let’s not turn this into a RINO site.
I am afraid that you may be right. This is the first article I’ve read by Rick Moran and it immediately struck me that he is not a conservative. Rino, checked pants Republican maybe, one who is oblivious to what goes on outside the country club doors. There are many of these disguised leftists who worm their way into supposedly conservative blogs. It is a shame and I may have to cancel PJM.
Mr. Moran’s protestations notwithstanding, Mr. Obama stood in front of the microphones five days before election day in 2008 and repeated for the nth time his intention to “fundamentally transform the United States of America.” This was not some hyperbolic rhetoric on his part. What does Mr. Moran think he meant? We can know the tree by the fruit it bears. Just about everything Obama has done or tried to do are directly in line with socialism including his health care monstrosity, the takeover of GM, and on and on. Coupled with many other statements of his ideas and policies and Michelle Obama’s speech about Americans having to change our history, our way of thinking, etc., there can be little doubt that Obama believes that socialism is the way to go.
Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Van Jones, Obama, et al, are convinced, despite all historic proof to the contrary, that socialism is a benign and fairer way to govern. His actions are weakening capitalism on a daily basis. Whether or not he is consciously evil or simply a misguided fool is not the point. He is, in fact, greatly hastening the destruction of this nation.
It is with non-paranoid certainty that Obama did not write the Stimulus package nor did he author the 2012 budget which dismissed the deficit commission’s recommendations. When during the presidential debates he said that the Democrats were not the party of tax and spend, where we to take him at his word? Are we not to take him at his word when he said that he was going to fundamentally transform America?
Paranoia to one is scepticism or critical thinking to another. The ladder are tools to look behind the curtains of a politicians obfuscations. Obama is like a hand puppet for a much larger and profound organization who would have us be true believers in “an open society.”
So we must be racists, because a Black President can do no wrong?
I see an unqualified man over his head in a job he can’t handle. He got the job through some slick political tactics. I don’t need to visit his motives to conclude he is harming me and my country.
I do congratulate you on coming up with some provocative (in the literal sense of the word) postings. Do you get paid by the reply?
Belief in Cloward-Piven, the Saul Alinsky game plan [...]
So, Cloward-Piven and Saul Alinsky are now right up there with the Easter Bunny and Santa Clause in the meme of imaginary fairy-tales and daymares? I think not, Sir and if you can’t see the forest for the trees, that does not mean someone didn’t hear a tree fall in the woods until Johnny-come-lately found it rotting on the forest bed.
My, my, my, what a privileged and delicate little egg-shell world you must live in just to reinforce your minuscule snow-globe universe that all of the Commies, racialists, tax-cheats and nut-jobs that 0bama hired is by pure ‘accident of fate’. How nice it must be to live on your mentally masturbatory marshmallow cloud of Utopian idiocy that you plop down on the grand scale of denial you have weighted your own intellect with in order to prop up your latest fantastical regurgitation.
And when our dollars are worth less than a peso and some promissory spit on the palm, will you recant this aberrational ridiculousness that you have posted here and do you think any one of us wants to be right just to prove you wrong? Hell no! I’ll gladly be called a nut-job if it means we can turn our country around and save it from the Pinko bastids running this ship-of-fools into the proverbial pit of doom, but, that means we have to keep our eyes wide-open, and you, sir, have your eyes wide shut.

quote of the day
couldn’t top that – and “what she said”
it isn’t paranoia unless the fearis from IMAGINARY danger
Isahiah62, a tip for you. You can use HTML coding to format your posts. For example, you can use the <blockquote> function to surround a quote, so that it stands out as a quote. For example, if I type this:
<blockquote>This is a quote.</blockquote>
when I’m composing my reply, when it is posted what everyone will see is:
If you want to make the quote bold, as well, add the bold symbol, <b>, to the mix, like this:
<blockquote><b>This is a quote.</b></blockquote>
What you’ll get is this:
Or you could use the italic symbol, <i>, if you prefer. Or combine them! <b><i>
Remember that every formatting symbol must be “closed”, like so:
<b>some text</b>
Or do a search on “HTML codes” for more ideas.
Cheers!
I wonder if there is a connection between people who say that Muslim brotherhood is a mostly secular group who denounced violence and people who try to explain away Saul Alinsky and others…
What’s irrational about it?
The administration is governing against the will of the people. Why does everything have to be a trick? Why isn’t everything in the open.
They won’t debate. They impose. There’s a reason for it. And it’s not becase they are “civil”.
And there is reason why little lenin has hid his past. Honest leaders don’t do that. Nothing should be hidden.
They LOVE guys like Moran.

RE: Does It Matter….
….the motivation? Or is the end result more important?
What is the difference between a drunk driver behind the wheel of a car driving towards a cliff or a driver bent on suicide?
If the ‘incompetent’ drunk doesn’t steer away from the cliff, the end result is the same as the suicidal one. The car goes off the cliff and everyone inside dies.
The ‘difference’ is mens rea. Incompetence is not necessarily a chargeable offense, unless it is ‘gross’ in its nature. But willful forethought in the destruction of property or life is chargeable in ALL circumstance.
But still and all, the ‘end result’ remains the unalterable ‘same’.
So what is it with Obama? Incompetence or deliberate?
You can look for what we in the military refer to as ‘key indicators’ of what the ‘other side’ is up to. Are they just being ‘stupid’ when they move their heavy artillery forward? Advance their positions? Or are they ‘up to something’ rather rude?
In Obama’s case, if it were ‘incompetence’, one would think that the election results of last November might be a ‘slap in the face’ and all the ‘passengers’ in this vehicle, e.g., all of US, screaming in his ear MIGHT just get the attention of a reasonably prudent individual that the way he is ‘driving’ is dangerous in the extreme.
On the other hand, if it is something much worse, the driver, e.g., Obama, would not listen to the shrill complaints of his ‘passengers’, e.g., all of US, and would continue his breakneck drive to oblivion.
So….
….what has Obama done since the November 2010 election?
Based on everything I’VE witnessed, he’s ‘accelerating’.

Chuck(le)

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it usually is a duck. Maybe the author is too impressed with the sound of his own quacking to give credence to all the quacking around him.
Why does the writer think Romer and Summers and others left? Did they leave because they thought Obama had it about right and everything was going to be fine and their services weren’t needed any more?
A feeble attempt by Rick Moran to employ the Jedi mind trick on the readers. At the risk of sounding “paranoid,” I’m wondering how much money Soros is paying Rick Moran to write this stuff? I always love the friendly “advice” spewing from guys like Moran and Navarette. Look…Barack Obama shares a particular VISION of America with the likes of Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright. If Ayers, Wright and people who share their views TRULY believe the rhetoric they have always employed, then why wouldn’t they want to undermine it? They are either the most egregious of hypocrites (a distinct possibility, of course) or they sincerely believe that the USA in its current form is a blight on the world and something should be done about it. Ayers turned his vision into reality during the ’60s and ’70s and a lot of buildings were destroyed by bombs. Wright called for God’s damnation of America in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. These are facts, not “paranoia.”
I’ve known people like Moran.
Their self-image is based on being the mediator, the calm and rational people. They see themselves as the indispensable arbitrers. Extreme cases value “compromise” over anything else, no matter how dangerous the anything else might be. O’Reilly and McLame are the classic examples.
Yet for ideas they feel strongly about, they are just as adament as the people they chastize as being divisive. Again, see O’Reilly and McLame.
Nobody is as dangerous as marxists, but people like Moran can be extremely insidious because they undermine the culture they exist within. They may have a psychological need to do so.
Moran is a big censorship guy as well. Are you surprised?
“Just because someone is out to get you, it doesn’t mean you are ‘paranoid’”
I think Rick Moran should stop pretending to be ‘conservative’ or whatever, and outright join The Manchurian President’s fight against america. As to the alleged ‘paranoid’ conservatives: If anyone above the age of 3 who is not in love with Obama and/or the murder-cult called ‘Leftism’ can not look at Obama’s and Lefts actions for past 100 years and say unequivocally that they ARE indeed destroying america, and for the obvious reasons, should promptly enroll themselves into the pre-KG classes at a local union-run daycare. As to the author, rick whatever: It is quite conceivable that he has contracted some unspeakable disease whereby he is rendered incompetent even to testify in a court of law, let alone deny a century of historical truths. If he wants to debate this issue, and if he can prove his competency by prior psychiatric testing, I am willing to take him on on ANY platform of his choosing. GEEZ MOZEEZ.
Francis Porretto (#8) got it right, I think. If one were to grant that Mr. Moran and Mr. Medved are correct and Obama is not actively trying to destroy America as we know it, what would he do differently if he were, given the practical constraints that would face him if he tried to emulate Hugo Chavez or other, more famous dictators of history (#37 Reformed Trombonist beat me to this notion)?
There is a 2001 interview with Obama conducted by a Chicago radio station, available on YouTube, in which Mr. Obama says the US Constitution is flawed because it only says what the government can’t do to the people, but doesn’t say anything about what the government must do for the people. I don’t think the man’s world view has changed.
Assuming Obama’s vision for America is honestly held and he truly believes it would make America better, it still involves “fundamental change” which, if you’ll recall, is one of the things he promised in his campaign (pointed out by #13 KLSmith). If “fundamental change” doesn’t involve destroying America as we know it, then what does it involve? How can change be “fundamental” if it doesn’t require major changes to the Constitution? Unfortunately, it appears that Mr. Obama is trying to make those changes while bypassing the Constitutional amendment process.
Whether Mr. Obama is evil, incompetent or just wrong, the danger to the United States from his policies is the same. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, we should nonetheless remember that “the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.”
It’s not paranoid to acknowledge that Obama, a self proclaimed progressive, wants “transformative change to this country. In order to effect such changes he and his supporters have said over and over again that the current system has to be destroyed. These are his own words, not the paranoia of the right.
Obama Obama Obama.
It’s not about Obama.
It’s about the internationalist left. It’s about the world war of islam against Freedom. It’s about the elitists who are selling Europe to the muslims and want to do the same with America.
And you cannot make the problem disappear by simply calling us names.
You confirm, by calling names such as “paranoid”, that the left is totalitarian and dangerous.
Shall we all go into mental institutions to be treated by the doctors who know what is good for us ?
Buy yourself a Stalin portrait and hang it in front of your desk. It will match your ways.
Nothing is automatically incorrect because it’s a conspiracy theory. Some conspiracies are true; some are not. I’m sorry to inform you that you have to judge each one individually. I know, I know! It makes life difficult when you can’t dismiss things summarily because they “sound silly.”
When looking back on history, it’s amazing to see just how many shifts in power were brought on by the patient schemes of a few faceless people. How many English kings were shoved out of place with underhanded chicanery? Quite a few. Are we any different now? Hardly.
The need to have a “respectable party” that doesn’t dignify conspiracy theories with any response past “That’s utterly absurd” is a cowardly need. Nothing is patently absurd. Nothing. Everything must be answered with information and facts or you lose – plain and simple.
Did Neil & Buzz land on the moon? Yes. Anyone who believes otherwise can be trounced with a mountain of facts. I would gain nothing by just calling them ridiculous and telling them to shut up.
In fact, choke on this, Ricky: When two or more people get together and say, “We should get rid these conspiracy-minded people with a game plan of denigrating them, ridiculing them, and shutting them down” THAT is a conspiracy.
Thank you for that. It’s absolutely true.
More to the point, it’s not a conspiracy when they’re doing it in broad daylight.
Moran seems intent on kkeeping the cloak over the eyes of the American people. What most do not recognize yet is we already have a Marxist government. And Obama doesn’t get all the credit for that.
Rick Moran’s a good guy, but this comes down to an ad hominem accusation (“paranoia”) without evidence.
“Paranoia” is another word for “suspicion.” But it’s IRRATIONAL suspicion. Well, then you have to prove it’s irrational. You can’t just name-call people who are suspicious of Obama’s motives.
Moran has decided to believe that Obama makes really destructive decisions because he’s naive and/or incompetent. I suspect that’s part of the truth. In some case, like openly humiliating Mubarak to force him to quit, leaving Egypt very likely to VOTE for the Muslim Brothers, incompetence really shades into deliberate destructiveness.
The bottom line is that destructive policies create huge risks for the US and now for the Middle East. Apparently Hillary, Gates and others argued against Obama’s unbelievably arrogant and blind decisions on Mubarak and Egypt. That is exactly what Jimmy Carter did to the Shah, and at least a million people died as a direct result in the Iran-Iraq war. More, because that’s not even counting the constant purges and killings the regime uses to stay in power.
So did Obama do it deliberately to set back peace in the ME? Or is he just unbelievably blind and ignorant, a bull in a China shop? Or have the Muslim radicals bought influence in this administration? I think it’s some mix of those things. Obama is a huge risk-taker. He might have his own fantasies that it’s going to end up better. That’s a delusional system that’s pretty common on the Left. Jimmy Carter and Zbig Brzezinsky still believe they did the right thing by helping Ayatollah Khomeini come to power in Iran.
I don’t think that’s a conspiracy theory, and it covers the facts pretty well. It could shade into real malevolence on Obama’s part. He comes from a very, very, very angry slice of the Democrat Left.
In his own mind, Obama might be thinking he’s setting the scales of history straight. In our minds it looks like destructive vengeance.
It means big, big trouble.
Calling it “paranoid” doesn’t make things clearer. It’s name-calling without evidence, and that’s bad in any political debate.

regards ..I enjoy your essays
Of course Obama doesn’t hate America. He simply hates what makes it great: free-market capitalism, meritocracy, and individual liberty. Since he is a well-credentialed fraud, how could he do otherwise?
Kenneth lets try liberty on for size. Is it restrictive? Did you say no? How can it be non restrictive when it requires permission to do something otherwise forbidden? We have many examples of how liberty works in this case. Under certain conditions you are given liberty to speak when every one else must remain silent. Then Liberty also has power to admonish lewd speech when we say our Constitution allows such speech. Take a had look at Liberty and see what it has power over. Much more than we usually think
With all due respect, I’m operating from the dictionary definition of Liberty: “Liberty is the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one’s way of life, behavior, or political views.” As a state of being, liberty does not act, restrict, require permission, or have power. It is freedom from control. Does that size fit, Whit?
No, that does not really fit what Liberty does. It is the definition we are all familiar with. Freedom is a function of Liberty rather than Liberty being a function of freedom. I did not come to this conclusion without considerable study and observation but that seems to be the interpretation the Bible puts on Liberty. Not at all obvious but start to look and you will see many examples. Without Liberty we would not have forgiveness or be able to live peaceably one with another. To be fair we need to allow our fellow man certain liberties he otherwise would not have. You do not give everyone that comes to your door liberty to enter. 1 Peter 2:16 sums it up. I don’t want to get too long here but Freedom and liberty are a lot like a check, two sides to one instrument. The front of the check tells you what its worth but you sign the back of that check to turn in into cash. Liberty is the source of that value but freedom implements it. Maybe this will make a little sense. What I wanted to make clear is that you cannot remain at liberty and do any and everything you might want to do without losing that liberty. The forces that are robbing us of our liberty is also dictating our actions.
We have seen the largest increase in the stock market doubling since the Great Depression. American industry is prospering. The mid-east is undergoing an awakening and longing for democracy. The world is looking better and more peaceful. We are blessed to have Obama guiding our what could be a monumental shift as the US resumes regains its position as world
leader.

Is it by chance ?
He listened to twenty years of sermons designed to create hate for America, Freedom, capitalism, the whites…by chance.
Twenty years.
The only way you have to support that is by asserting that this president is unbelievably stupid.
I have read quite a few of your articles here in PJM and firmly believe you’re not a conservative but a libertarian who’s indistinguishable from a radical leftist. Period.

And one more question for you Moran:
Why is this good ol’ American boy from Hawaii (!!!), going by the arabic name Barack Hussein Obama, hiding his (sealed by Executive Order) records?
I bet you have a good answer for that; but your brilliant mind won’t let you reveal it to us, wingnuts conspiracy theorists and ‘birthers’ alike, because your mind is so brilliant it burned up all its neurons and can’t think.
Censor this one, too, Moran.
#48 Moira: “I wonder how much money Soros is paying Rick Moran to wrote this stuff.”
Oh, probably as much money as the Koch brothers are paying to various CINOs to spout their supposedly conservative stuff here at PJM (CINOs = conservative in name only).
…at least the Koch brothers are Americans; what about you, SteveB from Colorado?
First, I’d remind the author of a basic rule of the Common Law: A man is presumed to intend the natural and probable consequences of his actions. Sorry, but any other approach is delusional, not thoughtful. Since FDR, the Left has adopted the tactic of “the politics of personal destruction” rather than waste time debating policies. FDR pushed his DoJ to get Andrew Mellon behind bars even though he was found to be innocent of any crime. Harry Truman attacked Republicans as civil-rights violators for accusing Federal officials as Communist spies and agents-of-influence, and he also was stone-walling investigations for political purposes, when he knew for a fact that these Commies were scattered throughout the government. The fact that one, Henry Wallace, had been Vice-President was likewise covered up. The point is, Truman never argued that there were no security risks in the govt but attacked the GOP as witch-hunters just for saying so. LBJ’s infamous “Daisy” commercial against Goldwater (who he well knew was going to lose) is another example. Clinton’s campaign against the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy who were uncovering his misdeeds was more of the same, but the personal attacks on Robt Bork, Clarence Thomas, Ken Starr, as well as physical intimidation against female victims, upped the ante. After 2001, we had trespassing/intimidation at the homes of political opponents. Now we have mob action at both the Wisconsin Capitol and the home of the Governor. BHO’s tactic of disqualifying his political opponents prior to elections is amazing. Add his recent flouting of Federal Court rulings on oil drilling in the Gulf, and his appointment of extra-Constitutional ‘Czars’ and we see another ratchetting-up of political tradition. The point is, it is well-established by now that Leftists do not abide by any rules — whether of law or customary fair play. Once you have concluded that today’s Left is lawless, you will have to decide what to do about it. Justice demands only that the Leftists be accorded no benefit of law by their adversaries. The GOP must forget giving Dems the benefit of Marquis of Queensbury rules and go for no-holds-barred, take-no-prisoners combat. Mutuality is the basis of justice.
Did Beck and Limbaugh invent Fox-Piven? Did they conjure Saul Alinsky from whole cloth? Did they put “Never let a crisis go to waste” into the mouth of one of the President’s chief advisors (a concise distillation of the logic behind Fox-Piven)? Did they somehow slip a gaggle of Socialists and Communists into Obama’s circle of extra-Constitutional “Czars?” Did they fabricate Obama’s gleeful statement that he was going to “fundamentally transform” America?
Or from another angle, have the policies of the Obama adminsitration worsened and extended the recession/depression, increased unemployment, destroyed shareholder value, raised energy costs, given us a racist DoJ committed to punitive “justice” and expanded government control over enterprise?
Finally, if Obama and company were intent upon wrenching America from a nation built upon individual freedom and responsibility to an already failed socilaist state, how would they have proceeded differently?
One might claim that incompetence, and not malice is at work here. So what is the difference, then, if the final catastrophe is the same? I am not comforted by “He isn’t malevolent, just stupid and clumsy!” as an extenuation.
You may not be ready to go there, but just look at the facts. Name a single action that Obama has taken that makes us a stronger nation, or that brings us together, or where he shows pride in what America WAS, not what he wants it to be.
Obama’s reckless presidency has done nothing to strengthen the country, only to make it weaker or to disparage it. Is that an accident? Not likely.
Look, every step of his career Barack Obama has associated with people who hate America, people who support communism, or people who try to subvert our government. Only an useful idiot would watch his destructive rhetoric and loathsome attitude about the country and not at least consider that the intention is malevolent. It’s not a coincidence that this man’s record has been completely scrubbed clean. Personally I feel we’re in the middle of a sleeper cell presidency.
“Name a single action that Obama has taken that makes us a stronger nation, or that brings us together, or where he shows pride in what America WAS, not what he wants it to be.”
Off the top of my head: retaining Gates, appointing Hillary as Sec. of State, expanding drone use, surging in Afghanistan, and bailing out the banks. Imagine if he had said, “Screw Wall St. and the big banks,” something which might have been expected from a commie leftist, right?..and the economy completely tanked? I’ll bet you would be applauding him on his bold principled move; sure you would.
He has praised small business MANY times and his Tucson speech was certainly a healing speech. He he solved our problems? Nope. But the ridiculous hyperbole about how he has not done ONE good thing is exactly what I am talking about. If someone said 80% of his policies have been misguided, or whatever, I would listen, but when you indulge in such outrageous absolute statements, refuting them is not just picking up low-hanging fruit, it’s more like gathering drops.
As for someone else’s assertion that I am a troll, what does THAT mean? That he disagrees?
Now libertarians and PJM are becoming Barry Soetoro’s supporters?
Way to go folks.
I saw Palin yesterday granting the messiah a “legitimatacy” crown. Well, we all know her intellectual capacities as well as funding sources. But with this article coming immediately after that show, maybe it’s broader than simply her (Palin now being the new “libertarian”).
Does Moran ever write anything but whacked-out conspiracy theories about some VRWC? He’s almost as much of a one-note Johnny as Chuck Johnson.
Goodness gracious, Mr Moran has poked a stick into the hornets’ nest and now we have loud, angry buzzing. Essentially, I agree with most of his points, which are similar to what Rove said the other night on O’Reilly.
If people focus on, “I disagree with Obama’s policies; they are wrong and we must defeat him, one is within the realm of reasonable political stuff. But so many have to guild the lily. Why? I need to work on my analysis further, but do know that in the end, the extreme stuff costs you votes that you need; the true believers, you already have. Others, unless they feel that they are in a battle between good and evil, don’t pay attention at all, so have to frame the debate as good against evil, not Democrats against Republicans. Maybe a lot more humans act this way than I would like to admit, that one cannot disagree without hating, so maybe I’m the naive one,
Different elements in American society are seeking to better or protect their own lot by who they choose to support as a candidate. All are selfish (voting in their own self interest); they are supposed to be in the market system right? The labor demonstrators are howling and yowling to protect their financial interests. Someone else’s interests conflicts with theirs and they vote for different candidates. But wait……those guys are evil. Got it.
When liberal troll “Dwight” comes to your defense, you know how deep in trouble you’re Moran.
Ooh! THAT one’s gonna leave a mark…bingo!
TARGET!!!!
Cease fire…..
Why yes indeed. I selfishly vote for candidates that will allow the United States to remain a great, wealthy, charitable country not controlled by an oligarchy and for it to remain that way for the next century I hope.
I feel so ashamed.
Actually I do agree with you in a way. I see many voters voting to line their pockets with other citizens money every election. I must have my priorities all mixed up.
“I must have my priorities all mixed up.”
Not really. I want my rights and like my privileges but the only way to get that is to guarantee you your rights and allow you your privilege. If we do not look at it this way we get people like Obama to run our government
Wow, reading these comments you’d almost start to think that paranoiacs don’t take constructive criticism well. There’s a surprise.
First off, I don’t believe that Rick Moran self-describes as a conservative. His voice should be welcomed here, because all voices should be welcomed here…and poorly reasoned, weak and inarticulate opinions should find their way to the dumpster behind the marketplace of ideas.
Rick, quite often now, seems to try to elevate himself by stepping on the necks of those whose opinions he doesn’t cotton to, and he wears the robe of Frum/Brooks “separtists” who claim victory before the battle merely by being “in the reasonable middle”.
This offends me more than most here, because I self-identify as a centrist or GDI…and it’s times like this when people get confused as to what that means. While I take every issue at first blush with no preconceived or “team” reflex, I NEVER attempt to go mining for a “separation” factor that superficially awards me a coronation as “better” than my center-right brethren. Brooks, Frum, Parker and that other woman, whose name escapes me at the moment and now, more frequently, Moran seem to relish in this role of “inner circle scold”.
Secondly, and more importantly, Stanley Kurtz has the intellectual firepower to advance an argument with calm, reasoned, rational charm and grace. And he wrote a book titled “Radical-In-Chief” that meticulously detailed a lifetime of adherence to hard left principles.
It is incongruous to suggest that the thousands of details leading to the conclusions in that book should be ignored or derided by a “pull it out of your rectum” suggestion that it is far-fetched to believe the very solid and intellectually valid work done by Kurtz.
Thirdly, Ron Radosh, Roger Simon and David Horowitz spent time on the INSIDE of the hard left and have much, much, much greater credibility when speaking of what goes on there, than does someone with absolutely zero experience in the hard left mindset.
When a Moran or Frum or Brooks can stand toe to toe with a Kurtz and defeat conclusions based upon evidence rather than empty calorie snark, then…and only then…will this GDI give this opinion any more weight than a throwaway attempt at groveling for favor with other rabid anti-conservatives….and as witnessed here by the troll responses.
My friends here deserve better…and…an apology, in my opinion.
well written
regards
He’s a duck.
Alinsky and Wisconsin
http://pajamasmedia.com/tatler/2011/02/18/alinsky-and-wisconsin/
Is PJ Media part of the Paranoid Right?
Way to prove his point, commentors. He’s right, a lot of the stuff passed in conservative circles is tinfoil hat stuff. There’s a difference between criticizing policies and mindsets that don’t work and have harmful effects, and reaching out for some seriously loopy theories that are paranoid.
If anything repubs need to remember they did the same to bush, and way too many are in full-on obama derangement syndrome. he’s not a muslim, he was born in the USA, he’s not secretly trying to destroy the USA using an obscure idea he dredged up from the nation. He’s a well-meaning public servant who is just dead wrong about politics and how it should work.
“He’s a well-meaning public servant who is just dead wrong about politics and how it should work.”
Well-meaning my A§§.
Public servant who just happens to behave like a tyrannical master.
About as dead wrong about politics as Alinsky and Clinton.
How it [politics] “should” work is best left to the utopian Leftists who never learn. The telltale signs of a troll.
Well, golly, why would some people resort to conspiracy theories?
I would like to think that going on about Cloward-Piven is lunacy, except that Frances Fox Piven opened her malicious mouth the other day to hope for Greece-like labor violence in the U.S. (she’s getting close to her wish in Madison, WI as I type).
I want to think that calling George Soros an evil manipulator was sheer fantasy, except that a moderate like Roger Simon has found out some disturbing things about the man.
I’m convinced that Obama was born in Hawaii, but he adamantly refuses to have a birth certificate released, thereby feeding the conspiracy trolls.
I thought it was unreasonable to hope the USSR would collapse, and only odious rightists like the Birch Society fantasized that way. And that “amiable dunce” Reagan was right about the USSR being an evil empire.
It’s not polite (I’m sorry, not “civil”) to imply Obama is a Socialist, but he hung out with Commie radicals until quite recently, and his preacher of 20 years is a malignant hate machine. Oh, and what about Van Jones and Anita Dunn? Figments of right-wing conspiracy nut imagination?
The legacy media have come as close to being conspiratorial in their mind-set and manipulation of the news, that one needn’t be a garbage-can diving street person to know they are a mendacious, ultra-liberal lot who are not objective. My God, they can’t even report SCIENCE news without politicizing it.
If you don’t want people resorting to “conspiracy mongering” Mr. Moran, then we need to have a liberal establishment and a White House that doesn’t provide them with so much convincing ammunition.
Moreover, the Cloward-Piven strategy really was put into effect, with a devastating outcome, in the New York City of John Lindsay’s mayoralty; that’s not just a ‘conspiracy theory.’ ‘Transformational change’ is more like it!
Leftists shouldn’t avow this kind of stuff, if they don’t want us to notice and be aware of it.
the problem with the writers theory is that our “paranoia” is being justified everyday. what has to happen to proove that this IS happening? do the jackboots have to hit the ground? does the marshal law have to happen? how bout a lil proactiviy huh?
Right–the problem is that Obama is far from unique. He really does speak to and appeal to an awful lot of people who don’t like America, are (at some level) ashamed to be Americans, pride themselves on how much they disdain certain things that are typically American, no doubt fancy themselves far more like the worldly and cosmopolitan Europeans, etc., etc.
These are the folks who teach in colleges and universities, and some of the people who teach in schools give themselves airs and act like this, too. Plus, they all pass this on to our kids.
Obama has no humility; he does actually think he can do better than “all those white guys” who were on the money before him.
Has Obama “deliberately initiated policies that he knew would injure the economy and the country”? Well, his policies have been quite deliberate. How stupid and/or ignorant of economics and history would he have to be to believe his policies would NOT injure the economy and country? If we believe, for the sake of argument, that the president is not that stupid or ignorant, then how do we explain such policy decisions? Well, he told us pointblank once that a particular policy position was based on his concept of “fairness” rather than sound economic theory or demonstrated results. So, yes, I think President Obama would deliberately initiate policies that he knew would injure the economy and country if those policies would advance his ideological goals.
Does Obama want to destroy America? Well, yes and no. Which America are we talking about? If it’s the one that was premised on the ascendancy of the individual and the limitation of the state, then, yes, I believe it’s his intent to “destroy” that America by replacing it with an America premised on the power of the state and the ascendancy of the collective. He would take us from a country that does whatever it can to assure equal opportunity to a country that does whatever it can to assure equal outcomes. And from a country that ascribes to Creator-endowed rights and is defined by what the state is NOT permitted to do to its citizens to one in which the state reigns supreme and is defined by what it is required to do for its citizens (you know, “positive rights” as opposed to the nasty “negative rights” we have now). He, of course, has no desire to destroy the country’s infrastructure, just the typical progressive naiveté that once these changes are instituted, all other things will remain equal. Once again, candidate Obama was quite clear about it all, wasn’t he? Or, what did you think he meant when he spoke continually of “fundamental and transformational change”?
Medved’s smug editorial is a good illustration of why I’m no longer a listener. I’m more or less indifferent to Mr. Moran, but I have no intention of allowing either of them to take me to the woodshed on this matter.
you got it right with “his version of fairness …”
presently he is punishing the enemies. (that would be eveyone who disagrees with him)
So an oil rig blows up. The administration doesn’t let the crisis go to waste. It shuts down drilling, drives tens of thousands of people into unemployment, forces increased dependence on foreign oil which forces increases in gas prices, increases the trade deficit, etc. Oil companies are sending their platforms to other countries and it will take years to replace them. Obama is defying a judge’s ruling over the legality of his drilling prohibition. Now clearly, this is a guy who has the best interests of this country in mind. Nothing to see here. Keep moving.

RE: Indeed
As I’ve said oft enough….
If it’s bad for America, Obama will do it.
There is a pattern of behavior that is blatantly obvious to even the casual observer. And only the self-deluded will not see it. You know….people like Moran.

Chuck(le)
[If you're not paranoid, you're not paying attention. Or something worse, as in you're part of the problem.]
Why is it paranoia to believe that people mean what they say they are going to do?
People like Rick Moran thought Churchill was crazy when he took what Hilter wrote in “Mein Kampf” seriously.
How Obama’s minions grant Frances Fox Piven her wish; plus: Chicken Dems found!
http://pajamasmedia.com/tatler/2011/02/18/how-obamas-minions-grant-frances-fox-piven-her-wish-plus-chicken-dems-found/
More paranoid style from Pajamas Media.
it media put obama in office more then any conspiracy (they refused to vete him ..and still refuse even as the country collapses around them). still once in I have no doubt he is all about destroying the essence of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
WHY ? maybe he is the idiot he seems to be, I think he is more likely just a spoiled child who doesn’t grow up and is no different then those two boys the killed a child they lured out of shopping mall. I think the victims name was Bolger.
Excellent point. I can see the parallel completely. Obama is exactly like the boys who lured a child out of a shopping mall and killed him. Sure wish I’d thought of that. You are one sharp cookie.
I guess I think he is doing some of these things on purpose just because I think Obama is a pretty smart guy. Wouldn’t the opposite conclusion be that he just isn’t that bright. I mean, until recently it’s not like he hasn’t gotten most of his agenda passed. What results did he expect?
As this Author said approximately, if you don’t believe President Obama’s actions are to deliberately take the country down, then you believe he is stupid, incompetent and ignorant. His performance based on ignorance is apparently a lack of knowledge of the economics related to the what Hayek and his co-recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics, described as their theory of money and economic fluctuations such as boom and bust. I agree we don’t really know which Obama is but we cannot afford to continue this stupidity, incompetence and ignorance or evil intent, whichever.
I think there are plenty of PJM readers that agree with Cris who responded to Craig, “I think Moran is the guy that brought Ruben Navarette on board”. Both Moran and Navarette have good ideas to present, but then go off in their self-unrecognized biases, Moran in hoping Obama ends up as a great president, and Navarette pretending to wish America better but hoping for a Hispanic-American Califate.
Mr. Moran did not directly attack my view, perhaps because my version is worse than he can imagine, me being a conservative, but here is a contribution to the analysis of the President’s, and more so those behind him, motives and intent. First the President is not responsible for what is being done, it is those behind the Democratic Party who are responsible. The President is just a puppet whose jaws were carved by his makers to insure what comes out says the same thing as the behind scenes power that put him in.
And the Democrat Leaders plan is to take over the country by what ever means is necessary. We have already seen the giant sledge taken to the Constitution by the Obama Administration just in two years, as well as all the incremental wounds suffered over the last 100 years. The Democrat Leaders expect to keep being successful at more of the same, and that is their desire and “hope”.
However if the Democrat Leaders can’t continue with their original success, then it appears they intend is to take the country down financially, leading to anarchy. To fix the problem they created they will surrender our sovereignty to the United Nations. The UN will stabilize our money using manufactured money through the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Our president will become just another dictator in the democracy of dictators called the UN.
But in their scheme the Democrat leaders expect that they will also become the leaders of the UN and continue to control our president, and all the presidents in that “democracy”. Of course what the Democrat leaders don’t realize is, any control they gain will be short lived, lasting only until the-worst-possible-dictator throws them out. His name will begin with HitStalMao and end with something we cannot even fathom today. Chew on that and remember I didn’t say “his/her”!
Mr. Moran:
Query: Does Obama’s openly siding with the public employee unions in Wisconsin with tangible assistance, as opposed to jawboning, have any effect on your opinion?
Joe Klein, of Time Mag, thinks it was a dumb move. Or, is it a calculated tactic in a battle in a larger war? (Yes, I know I used violent metaphors, but given the behavior of the Madison protesters, I think we’ve gone beyond that.)
Good question, but I would like to know if the police and firemen’s unions are being excluded from new restrictions because they supported Walker. If so, it casts a different light on things for me.
Don’t know about political support, but it seems to me that the special status of police and firefighters as guardians of public safety who put their lives on the line every day might differentiate them from teachers, DMV people and street sweepers.
He will blame economic collapse on unrestrained capitalism, just as he has been doing, and propose to fix the problem with more taxes and regulation, just as Roosevelt did after destroying the American economy in 1936
If that does not work, he will stuff the ballot boxes. If that does not work, cancel the elections.
One of the main characteristics of a leftist is his belief in the perfectability of man, the goodness in everyone, and the absence of sin. Mr. Moran has demonstrated each of these characteristics here quite well.
One of the main ways to identify a Marxist is his willingness to create total chaos as a means to power–and to keep power. Mr. Moran has demonstrated such willingness. If, as he claims, he is a “moderate”, how can that be? Not with these killer characteristics. It is not beside the point also that Moran is an Atheist. That fact alone moves Moran many feet to the left.
Ignore him.
Moran is missing the point. The point is that the policies of this administration are so bad that they could hardly be worse if Obama and co. were deliberately trying to wreck the country. The alternative to that scenario is that they are complete morons. Granted, I think the latter possibility is more likely. The intelligence of the leftwing governing political elite is greatly overestimated.
~ Pr 14:12 ¶ There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Pr 16:25 ¶ There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. ~
This verse is being fulfilled in our sight because too many of us believe that which is wrong and destructive is the right way to go.
What a bunch of paranoid, racist freaks. I suspect the lot of you who are so worked now will have a collective stroke when Obama is re-elected in 2012.
Only racists play the ‘race’ card, Richard. How so? Because, you have to first separate everyone by color in order to play it, otherwise it’s utterly useless if you actually judge each individual by the content of their character rather than the amount of melanin in their skin. So much for that “character” crap eh?
TO: Poor Richard
RE: Having a ‘Stroke’
Actually, I suspect you’re ‘projecting’. And, in 2012, if not sooner, you’ll be the one having ‘mental issues’, if you aren’t having such already.

Chuck(le)
[You take drugs 'seriously' in your home?]
@ RB
Been there, done that. You may be assured that I will do all I can do personally to defeat Obama in 2012, and so will these commenters, I am sure. The very statement you made here is quite illuminating of your mindset; that is, to hell with the facts, I am an Obama supporter come what may.
What is truly mind boggling is that we legal American citizens — inheritors of our glorious constitution — are discussing the imperial, constitutionally illegal actions of our president and and our congress as if they were an abstraction. We have already been “taken over” by a totalitarian regime. Obozo is not worried that outraged voters will shed him out in 2012; that’s what Acorn and the New Black Panthers, and the Soros-elected Secretaries of States and the union thugs and the democrat cross-over voters in Republican primaries are for — stealing elections. We heard Nancy Pelosi tell us that the health care bill had to be passed so we could find out what was in it: as blatant a violation of the constitution as ever could be. And nothing happened! At that moment, there should have been immediate action for legal and just governance of the American people. Yes, we voted away part of their power, but they still arrogantly govern against the will of the people. Meanwhile the evil genius, Soros, is buying up power in every sphere of American life and still operating mostly under the radar of legal and political entities who are supposed to be defending liberty and justice. We Americans naively deny our almost-complete subjugation by Marxists even as we allow one and then another of our rights to be taken away. Please! get involved now. Join the Tea Party and put incessant pressure on your legislators from the local school board to the President to adhere to the Constitution and fight the corruption until American exceptionalism has been restored. There is no more time to “chat.” It’s way past time for that. Let’s hope it’s not too late. We think as Americans we are immune to the depradations of vicious, power-mad dictators. Not only can it happen here, it is.
Now I remember why I stopped Rick Moran. What a close minded person.
When disregard/distortion of fact is combined with pre-adolescent illogic, one gets a Moran–and a waste of our time.
Here is Moran trying to defend the impossible on his own site, but with this little centerpiece:
So we can conclude that Moran does have something of a handle on Obama’s ineptitude, but not the gut-wrenching feeling for the situation that righists have that we are watching the destruction of our nation, and the idiot at the controls keeps pouring on the power. In the name of deliberately constructed terror and frustration, and done against the majority of our citizens, what else can we call this but evil? Carpathianism.
?
As the collection of insane comments to your piece shows, the paranoid style is alive and well amongst Pajama Media’s readers.
It has become a badge of honor being called a RINO in these quarters of the conservative movement.
52. MH—It is too bad that you don’t comment on each and every accusation made against Obama; but, rather, throw out yet another paranoid response that has no heft at all. Your blanket defense is telling!
Do you realize the extent of real and countable US liabilities right now? It is north of $112.6 trillion, or about a million dollars per taxpayer. Our total GDP is on the order of $13 trillion. This implies that we are underwater for keeps. There has been no effective response from the Obama team about this crushing number. Real unemployment is north of 20% now, when you count those who have given up looking and are hence excluded from the administration’s count, and this will soon explode further. Yet Obama proposes a budget of over $3 trillion after ignoring a bipartisan committee that had good recommendations.
The idea of printing dollars to pay our way out will shortly be blocked by a group of international monitary people backed by their governments, and the US Dollar will cease being the world’s reserve monitary base. We will enter hyperinflation at about that point or a little after. These are the facts that have trickled down and sparked much of the hysteria, and I, for one, don’t blame people for becoming very highly concerned and emotional. For you, it seems to be Obama business as usual!
Is this Administration Really Evil?
Pursuing a radically different leftwing political philosophy, and a collective, socialistic course of action after it has been proven to be manifestly, demonstratively and massively damaging to this nation, or to any nation for that matter, is pure evil.
This cannot be excused by claiming ignorance, since there are so many brilliant, detailed and well–documented examples of the failures of leftist collectivism available in the nearest library and on the internet, plus many, many intelligent people available to advise the President on every subject imaginable—especially the failure of collectivism!
The one possible explanation that might be offered for this national catastrophe is that the Leader has such an overweening ego and narcissistic mindset that he cannot possibly admit failure in the least; hence, he must pursue his dreams and programs to the end, come what may. He therefore does not wish to listen to the advice of knowledgeable people or spend the considerable effort needed to grasp the true fundamentals of economics that he must master from the resources in the country. The Leader cannot change course!
If this is true, then the evil we see has not one but two parts: 1) the evil disaster of the nation’s finances brought on by reckless spending and commitments to la la land programs by this Administration, with its attendant joblessness and misery of 20% unemployment in real terms; and, 2)the evil, narcissistic ego of a flawed and ignorant President, and his muted advisors, czars and legislators that are forced to or are delighted to continue the same philosophy and courses of action in the midst of the screams of the unemployed, the wreckage of the commercial sector, and despite the dire warnings that have been given for over two to ten years from responsible and knowledgeable economists, financiers and businessmen. (The last Administration failed to heed their advice; our last chance was for this Administration to heal the nation’s sicknesses, but it has also failed.)
That is true evil!
What happened to UFOs? I remember when people like the commenters here used to keep each other busy writing to UFO sites. Everybody was better off; y’all got a place where a crank can be a crank (to borrow Chuck E. Cheese’s slogan), and American politics had a few ml’s less neurotoxins in the mix.
All the UFOs were sucked up by liberals, Grady. Are you a real human?
I guess that since Ron Rosenbaum was ejected from PajamasMedia because of his anti-tea party hysteria, they were in need of a new on board anti conservative (fifth) columnist. Rick Moran fills the position quite nicely. Hello and goodbye, Rick.
Mr Moran is right on the money and intellectually eviscerates the average credulous teabagger…
nice job Mr Moran.
1st, anyone who uses the word “teabagger” has pretty much thrown his credibility away by demonstrating he has no real argument, so must try to win by denigrating those he disagrees with. This is about the same level of argument as Grady’s, who is clearly not looking to discuss or inform, but only to distract and annoy.
The article seems to be a fairly typical liberal hit-piece searching for a target. I don’t see any truly cogent arguments here, nor anything worth specifically replying to… just more “you are double plus ungood…”
Funny how the comments prove the headline.
You all need lithium. Really.
I wonder if the writer has re-thought his position regarding Mrs.Piven and the OWS Protests.
I’m just sayin’
