The Mensa Monologues
American playwright, performer, feminist, and activist Eve Ensler wrote and produced the The Vagina Monologues, an ode to the female … well, you know. Recently on The Joy Behar Show, Ensler shared the belief that a country giving fellow female Sarah Palin credibility is “insane.” This opinion comes from a woman whose claim to fame is making reverence to womanly sex organs an international event.
Apparently, genital expert Ensler does not venerate all women equally, because Eve degrades Sarah Palin to a level that would make Andrew Dice Clay proud.
An oddly fetching Ensler took the Behar opportunity to express how shocking it is that someone who believes in creationism, and dismisses global warming, would be taken seriously in politics.
Eve said, “I think the whole idea that [Palin] doesn’t believe in global warming is bizarre.” Eve, wasn’t it you who posed such probative questions as “if you could dress up your vagina, what would it wear?”
Joy responded to Eve’s global warming insights. She interjected with statements like, “Every scientist of any note believes in it, but Sarah Palin does not believe in it.” Neither well-versed woman mentioned “attempts to cover up flawed data … prevent access to climate data; and to keep research from climate skeptics out of the scientific literature.”
Whiz kid Eve Ensler shared earth mother musings that global warming is real because all one has to do is“walk around the world at this point and look at what is happening to nature and earthquakes and tsunamis and weather changes to just feel it.” Behar, who accused Sarah Palin of “playing fast and loose with the facts,” enthusiastically concurred.
Ensler, a sponsor of V-Day, a global initiative to end violence against woman, didn’t miss a beat when given the opportunity to verbally assail Sarah. The woman who wrote, produced, and performed in a Broadway show about female genitalia asked Joy: “Why are we giving her so much attention?” A nasally Behar responded, “I knaoooooow” — putting her in contention to participate in Ensler’s globally celebrated Vulva Choir.
Referring to Palin and the tea parties, Ensler asked the perplexed Joy Behar: “Why is anyone giving attention to people who really have a level of intelligence that really hasn’t evolved yet?” Talk about a media whore lacking self-awareness.
IMHO, any work entitled “Vagina Monologues” has to rank right up there with the “Piss Christ” of the art world. Totally unnecessary, tasteless, clueless, and certainly not worth the price of admission…Eve Ensler is probably nothing more than a life support system for a vagina, without which no self respecting man would be caught dead in her company.
Are New Yorker’s so bored that they can convey fame to the truly stupid?
Ordinarily I would not comment on a blog about a such a ditz if not for the gratuitous Sarah Palin bashing, that makes it deserving of a post. If this woman were in the same room with Palin, doncha just know Sarah would be the center of attention while Ms. Ensler would be designated to the wallflower group. That’s got to be an ego killer for the eastern elite.

Any attack by the self-loathing band of women who wish they were men is to be dismissed out of hand. Palin may not be everyone’s choice as a spokesperson for conservatism or womanhood, but she is no less, and perhaps more, qualified to represent female aspirations than the whining, marginlized denizens of low-rated cable networks.
Mind you, this self-anointed “evolved intelligence” blamed the Haitian earthquake on global warming….
Eve Ensler is right when she says Sarah Palin does not “believe” in global warming. For Eve Ensler, belief in global warming (by which she probably means, AGW) is theological. Eve Ensler is bowing to the goddess Gaia. Gov. Sarah Palin does not believe in AGW and does not bow to the goddess Gaia; Gov. Palin knows that (more than likely) AGW is false.
Eve Ensler statements remind of George Orwell’s Animal Farm. All animals are equal, but some are more equal.
What a vile woman this Ensler is. When I learned specifically what the Vagina Monologues was about, I couldn’t believe that, 1) anyone would come up with such a ridiculous idea and 2) that anyone would actually be interested!
And yet here’s another woman supposedly standing up for women’s rights who hates Sarah Palin with a venomous hatred. For the life of me I can’t understand this phenomenon.
“I’ve been in the throws of self hatred all my life” about sums up Ensler, Behar and other leftist women’s hatred of Palin. She is vivacious ,attractive,principled and happily married and they’re not. It’s high school cattiness on the big stage.

Ensler is a has-been who’s 15 minutes of fame were in the 1970s. Many has-beens seek a quick career boost by publicly insulting an enemy of the leftist establishment, and reaping some sort of artifical controversy thereof.
And so explain to me again why we are giving Ms Ensler and Ms. Behar attention? I mean really outside of one play and one TV show who are these women? I never heard of them before those two incidence. I mean there are hundreds of actresses and comics that have had more of a career than the two of them put together times ten; Phillis Diller, Carol Burnet, Betty White. I think they have had their 15 minutes of fame, kind of like Paris Hilton, they need to exit stage left.

Well,speaking as the only person ever kicked out of the Mensa Society (Houston,TX in 1974) I take vehement exception to even the merest suggestion that either of the above mentioned personages possesses even the slightest hint of true intellectual acumen.

One question. After one year, could Sarah Palin have done more damage to our country than Barack Obama? I think not. I still contend that Sarah would have been a better choice for President than the empty suit that was elected.
An evening with Ensler or Behar might be described as a nightmare blind date, set up by somebody who hates you.
Out of morbid curiosity and perhaps some masochistic nature that before hand I had never recognized, I allowed myself to listen to these two loathsome creatures converse for a few minutes. I didn’t know two adults were capable of such depth of dialogue: tectonic plate shifts cause by “global warming”, talking vaginas, petroleum drilling vis-a-vis the failures of abstinence.
It was as if I had walked into the Twilight Zone, and after my escape (by changing the channel), can not get the horrific images out of my mind.

That belongs in the Guiness Book, as I’ve NEVER heard of your instance. And, considering that Mensa is VERY forgiving of things, the only reason I can think of for being ‘booted’ would be falsified documentation purporting qualifications or something akin to embezzling funds from the organization. I say this based on knowing that a member who sustained a brain injury resulting in loss of mental capabilities was convicted of a felony was not booted.
So….what was the chapter that booted you? I’d like to contact them an learn THEIR side of YOUR story.

She conveniently skirted pertinent facts when saying Palin does not believe women who are raped or victims of incest “have a right to determine whether they have their rapist’s baby or not.” She failed to mention that “1% of all abortions occur because of rape or incest
What’s the thinking here? That because 99% of unwanted pregnancies or abortions are the result of consensual sex, the 1% who are rape victims can lump it?
19. Why should the child die for its father’s crime? Let the rapist be put to death, not the child. That said, we’d be happy to effect a 99% reduction in abortions by keeping it legal only in cases of rape or endangering the life of the mother. It’s not the ideal situation, but it’s a vast improvement over the abomination we have today.

I believe the thinking in bringing up this stat is to shed light on the true nature of abortion in the US. We are constantly told that two of the main reasons that abortion should be legal is
1) victims of rape/incest should not be further ‘punished with a baby’ (Thank you Mr. President) and
2) the health of the woman should be taken into account
What the stats provided in the story show, for Pro-abortion advocates, this ‘procedure’ has little to do with rape/incest, or women’s health. It’s just another form of birth control. The rape/incest/health angle is simply a shoddy appeal to emotion by the pro-abort crowd. It doesn’t make killing a baby sound quite as bad.
“Safe, rare and legal.” I guess two out of three ain’t bad, huh?
Oh, and to #21: Irony, it’s what’s for dinner.
The official word for art of this nature is ‘transgressive’. That is to say, it derives most of its notability from violating social taboos, and is otherwise of little interest. Needless to say, as the novelty wears off and social norms change, transgressive art has little staying power.
The left has a good century of ideological, transgressive, or just bad art under its belt, and this bit of feminist ranting is simply another historical footnote.

Had I committed some criminal offense causing me to get booted from Mensa,I certainly would not have been so indiscrete as to discuss it openly with my true name attached,now would I?…as for my original qualifications,they were test scores submitted by my former high school directly to Mensa…and I hardly think you want to accuse them of falsification now do you?…as for the parties responsible for illegally ejecting me from the Houston chapter,they were in their 50′s at the time and are now dead…the immediate cause for their displeasure with me was my candidacy for Congress as the GOP nominee here in the 18th District Tx against the then incumbent Barbara Jordan…which is a matter of public record…the board members were uniformly liberal/socialist and tried to allege that my candidacy would reflect badly on THEIR chapter…they convened a rump meeting of the board of directors which included 2 people who were not on the chapter membership rolls..and by a 4-3 vote expelled me…I have worn that as a badge of honor ever since…why am I not surprised that they only reasons YOU could think of for such an unlawful action were those that reflected dishonor or misconduct on MY part?…next time, try thinking outside the box a little…maybe if you get good enough at that,you might be eligible for Mensa yourself someday…I was a young man when it happened and naively assumed that such things were simply not possible…silly me…after years of watching the libs infiltrate every aspect of American culture to the detriment of conservatives,such things no longer surprise me any more….and I must confess,I rather enjoy the distinction,even though it was entirely unsought.
One of Sarah Palin’s worst sins is that she actually likes men. Todd is as attractive as she is and what most normal women are praying for.
For the post-modern feminist this cannot stand. This is not to be borne. Men are the enemy. Men are the oppressors, they’re not there to be loved, enjoyed or praised. Instinctively Eve Ensler knows she’s not woman enough for a man like Todd Palin.
I am one Mensa member who strongly supports Sarah.
I would also remind folks that Kerry as seen as more intelligent than Bush. I did the research and broke the story that showed that Bush was smarter and got better grades.

Yes,there were quite a few Rice students in the local chapter at that time…one was even on the board of directors and was one of the 2 who voted not to expel me….he was a typical college lib,but knew a screw job when he saw it and said so at the time.
Robbins, I think you’re blowing hot air. I have a feeling it’s more a case that you resigned, not that you were kicked out. Believe me, it would have made the national Mensa groups if you had in fact been kicked out.
