Statements from Al-Hayat Al-Jadida include “[The Israelis] are the new Nazis upon the earth” and “Palestine has been torn in the hands of the Zionists, and the Jews have crucified it and caused blood to flow from its body.” The paper also makes allegations that Israel is “spreading drugs among the [Palestinian] young people.”
In July, after Israel had expelled four Hamas officials from Jerusalem, it was claimed this was a “prelude to the forced expulsion of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, whose aim is to change the geographical and demographic situation in the holy city.” The speaker of those words, quoted in Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, was Abbas.
Anyone for peace?
And among several examples in the report of Der Stürmer-type graphics, here, for example, from PA TV on July 1 this year, is a Jew eating the Al-Aqsa Mosque’s adjacent shrine in Jerusalem, the Dome of the Rock:

And how do you become an exalted figure in the PA? By being a terrorist — best of all, a dead one — who murdered as many Israelis as possible.
For instance, on July 3, Mohammad Daoud Oudeh (Abu Daoud), engineer of the Munich massacre of Israeli Olympic athletes in 1972, breathed his last. Fatah, Abbas’s ruling party, reacted by opening an official mourners’ tent and declaring: “He will always remain our ideal and a role model for the generations to come.” Al-Hayat Al-Jadida proclaimed that “his name shone brightly in … Munich in 1972.”
And Abbas himself went so far as to telephone Abu Daoud’s family and “noted [his] life filled with struggle, his devoted effort.”
But accolades aren’t all. PMW also lists eight cases in July and August alone of PA summer camps and sports tournaments being named after terrorists. In two cases the terrorist was Dalal Mughrabi. She led the 1978 Coastal Road Massacre — the worst terror attack in Israel’s history, taking 37 lives including 12 children.
On April 8 of this year, State Department spokesman Philip Crowley said, “We also strongly condemn the [PA’s] glorification of terrorists. Honoring terrorists … by official statements or by the dedication of public places … must end.”
Clearly, the PA didn’t listen to him. Yet the diplomatic activity rolled on and still does today, with most of the heat directed at Israel for building homes in the West Bank.
Now that so many pro-Israel Republicans have been voted in, is there light at the end of the tunnel? No one knows what will happen in 2012, but one can only hope so.
Roughly, since George Shultz, President Reagan’s secretary of state, opened contacts with Yasser Arafat’s PLO in 1987, getting a state for the Palestinians (in addition to the one they already have, Jordan) has been a bipartisan obsession of U.S. administrations. Presidents Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr., and Obama have all had the bug — the last with, arguably, the most severe case of it.
This has meshed with Israeli wishful thinking to produce an empowerment of the Palestinians and consequent unprecedented suicide attacks, rocket attacks, and other terrorism in Israel.
The Fatah-led PA and Hamas-led Gaza now exist and are realities Israel has to deal with. Given that these two Palestinian entities compete with each other in anti-Israeli hatred, the reason the PA is currently less of a problem is that Israel retains military control over it.
Pushing for one, or both — a point no one seems to clarify — of these hate-filled entities to attain sovereign statehood within a year or so, untrammeled by any Israeli military presence, flies in the face of logic and of Israeli and American interests.
This is a timely dissemination of PMW’s research, with some apt comments. The greater the number of rational people who are informed about this, the better. There is no excuse for ignoring this information, and for being too cowardly to draw the right conclusions. That applies to the top echelons of Washington, first and foremost.
I seriously doubt there will ever be peace between Israel and the Arabs; thus, Israel ought to do whatever necessary to become as perfect of a fortress as possible. The time is running out.
As to the Palestinian hate teaching, if I were born on that side of the wire, I’d most probably would be throwing stones and drawing ugly pictures.

A peace, regardless what the Bible says is impossible with the Muslims. The core tenant of their “religion” is to create a world of Dar al-Islam – one Muslim-run world. There is no room for Eretz Israel (or Europe, America) in that grand plan of Allah’s.

What to do? Our only option in Israel is to exert MAXIMUM pressure on our own leaders to REVERSE course, not Kadima (forward) like, but backwards. Backwards to a time when our leaders upheld our national legacy and rights, our inviolate ties to our Jewish patrimony, not to a legacy which just magically appeared in 1948, (upon Israel’s rebirth) but to a legacy that spans 3,000 plus years. A longer legacy than ANY nation state can claim, a longer legacy than even the Muslims can claim under the banner of Islam,yet to be conceived among the religions of the world.
This volte face will come about when our leaders understand that their rule is in jeopardy IF they continue to defy and deny us what is ours. Leaders want nothing more than to remain in power, and if their power is up for grabs, anything is possible.
Only those who will assert our NATIONAL rights via educating our children, stripping the leftist media of its stranglehold, revamping the Supreme Court from its self perpetuating fiefdom, and generally gaining hold of our cultural and academic institutions should be supported.
Under the guise of ‘democracy’ our self appointed elitists have stolen our Jewish narrative, eviscerating its core. Our ship of state won’t be righted until our leaders swear loyalty to our Jewish legacy, instead of peace processing with Abu this, Abu that……Washington be damned.

The “natural borders” for the State of Israel were attained at the conclusion of the Six-Day War in 1967; there was no reason for Israel to withdraw from them then, nor now.
The two-state charade needs to be abandoned, Israel must permanently annex the disputed region and discontinue the pursuit of any process that further divides the state. Politicians must cease in paying reckless homage to an inconceivable notion that the security of the Jewish people can be outsourced to a world body like the UN.
It’s actually worse than just garden variety hate.
The very existence of Israel challenges the basis of Islam. How could Allah even allow the accursed jews to not only set up a successful, flourishing state in the heart of the Islamic world, but horror of horrors, successfully defend themselves against the combined onslaughts of the armies of the faithful? Arab acceptance of Israel would challenge the very narrative of Islamic expansionism and allow for the possibility that maybe Islam ain’t what the prophet said it would be. This, I believe is at the heart of the conflict. The Arabs are not only in denial but, must maintain the illusion that Israel can be destroyed. It is why they must think the only reason Israel is successful is because it is supported by the US (the jews could never do it themselves).
So, in the end, the conflict is not just about land or refugees. It is about the failure of the Islamist narrative of triumphalism.

Nothing will improve or change until rreasonable people accept and understand this truly, PAINFULLY obvious fact…An this unreasonable cult of Islam is abandoned for the failure that it is.
Obama’s mideast policy aims to weaken Israel, strengthen her enemies, and in so doing provoke an all-out war to destroy her. The entire State Department, all his close friends and advisors, and half of the Democratic Party support him in this policy, not to mention the Quartet’s other three members: the UN, the EU, and Russia.
More than likely, then, sad to say, this war will break out while Obama is still in office.

Yes, peace CAN be imposed, and it has in the past, as you point out. Trouble is, we worry alot (and thats sometimes a good thing) about the inevitable collateral damage and death of innocents that would result from such a policy.
Our Liberal press refuses to acknowledge the Islamists OBJECTIVE is Collateral Damage and the maximum death of innocents. And a 24 hour live news media will not permit the sort of “March to victory” that undoubtedly WORKS, but is out of fashion today.
Everyone knows the benovolence of the USA, and how Germany and particularly Japan (a non-christian, non-european nation?) were, following the war, basically dusted off and hugged, as we held their hand and escorted them along a new path. Old hatreds replaced with mutual respect, cooperation and prosperity for their people, as we welcomed them to a place among an admittedly imperfect but FUNCTIONING family of respectful Member States.
The entire middle east KNOWS this could be the result for them too, if they would just STOP THE TERRORISM and become civilized….

The entire Oslo Process was a mistake. Israel should have never recognized the “Palestinians,” an identity that was manufactured by the Arabs to use against Israel. It never should have given them the right to administer their own territory. It never should have created the PA. It never should have disengaged from Gaza in 2005. And it should never accept a single Arab refugee, sever Jerusalem, which is Zion itself, or give away Judea and Samaria. Don’t concede a thing to these murderous, loathsome, bloodthirsty barbarians and jihadists.

Nothing has changed since 1967 except the scale of hate being spewed by the Phalicstinans. I spent a year there in 1972 as a child. I can remember posters in our classrooms warning us of what we should not touch if we find it by the side of the road.
These evil people would leave booby-trapped lunch bags, money, or candy on the sidewalk waiting for the next child to pick it up. The grocery store nearby my school was bombed by the PLO.
At what point do we admit that these people were never trustworthy enough to deal with? Enclose them. Wall them in. Let them seek money from someone else.

The problem for Israel is that they simply cannot take over the West Bank and make it a part of sovereign Israeli territory. They are not using most of it now so give it to the Palestinians since it is inevitable anyway. Do it now and get it over with. Yes it will be another Gaza but build a wall around it and ignore them.
The good part is that it will disarm all the nonsense about occupation because most countries in the middle east know they cannot insist on Israel disbanding itself and will have to be happy about a Palestinian State, no matter how shrunken.

Israel withdrew unilaterally from Gaza just to received a barrage of thousands of rockets from Gaza and condemnations from the rest of the world for trying to protect her citizens.
Your suggestion may work for logical people like yourself and many of the posters on PJM but not for the Muslims nor the Jew hating left – they will always find a reason to hate and blame Israel and the Jews.
But those reasons, unlike Gaza which was only giving in a little, will be disarmed in the eyes of the rest of the world. Without public opinion, the matter will settle down as I am not interested in what muslims and leftist Jews think but what how the rest of the world see the matter. People will have to shut up or unreasonably start talking about Israel disbanding itself. Let’s face it, a Palestinian state will be so busy having it own internal civil wars and butting up against Jordan that Israel will be able to take a nice snooze, relatively speaking of course. As Daniel Pipes has said, peace will come to the Middle East only when the Palestinians, and, I would add, the global Islamists, have been absolutely, irredeemably, irretrievably beaten to a pulp and have no dignity and/or hope whatsoever. Then, and only then, when the Islamists of the world are nothing but a disgusting memory of the spiritual and intellectual plague they have been to the rest of humanity, will the rest of the world be able to move forward.
