The article brings to mind a quote from Bishop Emanuel Aydin of the Syrian Orthodox Church in Austria:
“Is there not even a danger that a toothless dialogue will nourish and strengthen the conflicts it conceals or create a sympathetic alibi for those who regard dialogue as a weapon?”
Jews have not learned from the recent past. It is depressing that so many Jewish leaders are playing the roles of neauveau kapos, thinking they can “dialogue” with purveyors of genocidal religious fundamentalism based on the literal interpretation of a book with more Jew hatred than Mein Kampf.
Such dialogue is little better than a mutual masturbation session, which does nothing more than make the participants feel good about themselves without making a dent in the march of history.
Well,as much as I despise what has transpired here with this incipient mosque, part of me is thinking that NYC has brought this on themselves…that place has been Goofyburg for a long time now…so let them live with the consequences of their own bad choices for a while…..maybe seeing a 15 story monument to midieval barbarism in their midst for a while will bring them to their senses.
