The McCain campaign has been reduced to second-tier status by fund-raising woes. But there’s a “new McCain” on the rise in the form of a much anticipated and perpetually delayed announcement from Fred Thompson. While Fred’s “trophy wife” is the subject of some media scorn, he’s far better off than Louisiana Senator David Vitter, who has been caught in an act that he once thought was a serious enough sin to merit impeachment.

  2. 2. Jonathan Edwards

He wanted to impeach Clinton over subornation of perjury, obstruction of justice, and felony perjury.

Are you saying Vitter did all that???

    I didn’t think so.

  3. After I took my Dramamine, I was able to watch the jerky camera work>>>Geez…I know he probably has that “unwashed Lefty” stench going on, but for GAWDSAKES, Richard…scoot closer to David so there is not so much camera panning. Do it so I don’t burp up my oysters. ;)

    BUT AS TO CONTENT:

Richard, you are right on with the concept of punishment for CRIME being the only purview of the Government. Trent Lott buckled to the PC speech police and gave up his rightful place in the Senate power structure to atone for a PERCEIVED “sin” and thereby condoned the IDEA that “sins” are punishable in a secular setting. THEY ARE NOT.

CLINTON LIED TO A GRAND JURY, a quantifiable “crime”, and yet managed to keep the helm of the Free World.

But follow me here. If Vitter confesses to having “sinned” with any woman in passing, it is shameful, but merely a “sin” as you stated. But Vitter keeps his seat, annoying sanctimonious article notwithstanding.

BUUUUT>>>>> he confessed to “sinning” with a PROSTITUTE— a “crime” that substantiated by his own “come to Jesus” confession.

Because last time I checked, SOLICITING A PROSTITUTE WAS A CRIME.

    OOOPS.

    BUBbye, Senator.
