You quote from a Wikipedia page, but fail to mention the page states the first African American Senator elected since Reconstruction was REPUBLICAN Edward Brooke, from Massachusetts (1967-1979). You fail to mention it took until 1993 for Democrats to elect an African-American Senator, which by logic, must imply there’s plenty of racists still in that party. But of course, you’re silent on all this, as it doesn’t fit your rabid anti-conservative/Republican agenda.

True, I do consider Israel to be more important (particularly as 250,000 AMERICANS live in Israel), though I really could care less how much aid goes to Israel. Israel is an important ally, but so is England, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, etc.

History of Israel/Jews and Arab/Muslims should be much more fully exposed, especially Turkish census numbers, and the fact that “Palestinians” never controlled any of the land. What the Arabs are asking for needs to be clearly seen:

Two boys are splitting a cake. One says he wants half, the other says he wants it all. They negiotiate: the second says, let’s start with agreement. We both agree I should get this half, so I’ll take it. Now, we disagree on who should have the other half…

Israel probably needs to take MORE territory, and occupy it heavily, and impose human rights protections on women and children and those Arabs willing to criticize Arabs as well as Israelis … with the idea of having territory it can ‘give back’ in order to get peace.

Arabs can’t live in peace with Jews until after they “have won” something. So Israel needs to take more, to have something that Arabs can win back.

The model democracy that Israel should aspire to is Switzerland, with German, French, and even Italian & Romansch languages; with Catholics & Protestants, with a President (nobody knows) because there is so little power at the top. Cantons handle most gov’t functions.

Most Swiss also learn English. Israel should forcing those in the occupied territories to learn English.

I agree with you. The annexation of Judea and Samaria would be a temporary solution. As Arab society grew and developed within the State of Israel, without the crippling effects of terror and occupation, or the humiliations occasioned by roadblocks and searches, where Arabs could exercise equal rigthts, with the blessings of peace, stability and economic growth, the country would become a bi-national state over time. In other words, you would get most of what you want – and I would get most of what I want. Neither of us would get everything.

Joel Bainerman has out-done the fools in Tel Aviv who think they believe in peace. For years Israelis tried to figure out how to annex the land (Judea and Samaria) without annexing the people – you. Joel says essentially, “forget that garbage – the people come with the land. We’ll take them in and we’ll all grow together – in peace.” I agree with him.

That also means that your grandson and my grandson can serve together in one single army to defend the country if needed. Why not?
