The 12-Step Guide for the Recovering Obama Voter
“My name is Craig K., and I’m an Obamaholic.” That’s the confession with which Craig Karpel opens The 12-Step Guide for the Recovering Obama Voter. It’s meant, of course, to be an aid not just to addicted individuals but also to a society that’s taken a wrong turn and gone off the rails.
And, analogously to the addicted individual, the first requirement is accurately targeting the blame: “the Obama presidency isn’t Obama’s fault — it’s ours. We should be impeached for having elected him.” And that includes “those of us who didn’t vote for him, because we didn’t persuade enough other people not to.”
In other words, this book offers itself as a curative to a whole country that has “hit bottom,” as Karpel puts it, as the national debt reaches staggering levels, the numbers of those unemployed and living off the dole continue to burgeon, and the world scene descends into a Hobbesian nightmare as Iran strides unimpeded toward nukes and Islamists take the helm in Egypt and a raft of other countries.
What brought things to such a pass? What enabled Americans to enable “a man with no administrative experience to run the largest organization on earth”? Why was Obama elected without “carefully examining [his] background, character, career, and plans,” while ignoring the fact that he lacked any record of significant achievements?
In the framework of his 12 Steps, modeled loosely on those of AA, Karpel looks for the answers.
For one thing, “we became hooked on a political cult that…presented a politician as a messianic figure.” It’s the left, says Karpel, that’s truly “faith-based,” attributing “providential potency to government.” Government under the left’s dispensation, with the “philosopher-king” Obama at the helm, became a “primitive idolatrous pagan church in which, as the ancient Egyptian fertility god Osiris was superstitiously believed to have the power to make grain grow, the president of the United States is superstitiously believed to have the power to make initial unemployment claims shrink” — along with other miracles, while taking steps reflecting European-style statist fantasies instead of experience and prudence.
In electing Obama, America also fell for charisma “instead of valuing only character.” Whereas Bush 43 “offended sophisticates by acknowledging a supreme being rather than pretending to be one,” Obama dissed American exceptionalism while projecting himself as what was truly exceptional, “the appointed person…at the appointed time.” And, taken in by his charismatic mien, people fell for it.
Good old elitism was another Siren luring the ship off course, “the belief that those with certain credentials” — such as Obama’s Harvard background — “constitute an elite whose members have a right to rule.” This while ignoring the fact (except that slice of voters who are far to the left and welcomed it) that ’60s and ’70s radicals have turned the universities into left-wing hothouses — a milieu well manifested in Obama’s quixotic “stimulus” attempt, Solyndra debacle, and appointment of 42 elite “czars” (an example of what Karpel calls “crony anticapitalism”)
And, perhaps most perniciously since it sows social discord, Obama, says Karpel, got Americans addicted to blaming others. “[N]ever before,” Karpel writes, “has there been a president whose central discourse is about blame.” As the U.S. economy continues to tank, Obama goes on blaming his predecessor, George W. Bush, for the woes. But it’s not only that. On pages 52-56 of this e-pamphlet, Karpel has compiled an impressive list of Obama’s malicious attributions of blame to others, ranging from ATMs to auto manufacturers, from Standard & Poor’s to “stupid” police in Cambridge, Massachusetts (for arresting his friend Prof. Henry Louis Gates, Jr.). And the habit is catching, as Obama turns Americans against each other and cultivates group antagonisms.
As November 6 looms and the race appears close, Karpel hopes this book will make a difference. He suggests setting up house meetings of Obama Voters Anonymous to “work” its 12 Steps, creating Facebook events, and disseminating the link by Twitter and email. It sounds worth trying; as an American Israeli with an added Middle Eastern perspective on the harm this president has wrought, I hope these ideas catch. There are, of course, those who will vote for Obama no matter what. Polls, though, continue to show considerable ranks of the undecided, people who could potentially be reached by this book’s friendly, empathic approach.
But even if you’ve never dreamed of voting for Obama and aren’t the organizing type, this short, addictive book is one you shouldn’t miss. Distinguished by lean, pungent prose laced with wit, it’s a deeply insightful compendium of where things stand after four years of disastrous executive bungling, and offers a path out of the mess before it’s too late.

“Obama dissed American exceptionalism.”
For Pete’s sake, don’t use idiot, illiterate slang, including using a PREFIX as a word. We’re trying to have a civilization here.
There is nothing “exceptional” about a nation in which its female population has killed over 54 million unborn children. And the Obama Administration seeks to kill even more with the HHS Mandate, which is in violation of our right to a conscience. It’s voting between the best of two evils, therefore, the Republican Party has my vote.
It’s hard work trying to save these liberals from aborting themselves out…especially this extreme left president the liberals voted in…who supports planned parenthood, google Margaret Sanger, founder, planned parenthood,in her own words……”On the extermination of blacks:
“We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population,” she said, “if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” Woman’s Body, Woman’s Right: A Social History of Birth Control in America, by Linda Gordon”…..”On the purpose of birth control:
The purpose in promoting birth control was “to create a race of thoroughbreds,” she wrote in the Birth Control Review, Nov. 1921 (p. 2)”….liberal’s mindset…ABORT ! ABORT! ABORT!….
I’m not at all sure why those of you who are fascinated with the fetus keep bringing this up, as if it is a winning political theme. It isn’t. The issue is settled. Has been for over 30 years. You won’t change it back. Not ever. Accept it and conduct your own life how you see fit. Against abortion? Then don’t have one. Pretty simple, huh?
On another note, the 47% remark by Romney has gained some traction because a lot of people (our seniors, our veterans, college students, etc.) are now realizing the Romney is talking about them when he refers to the moochers who don’t pay income tax. I came across a story about a veteran that was heartbreaking. The poor guy, who lives on very little fought for our country and now he too has come to the realization that Romney was talking about him. What is so appalling is not only the fact that these Americans are just moocher throw aways to Mitt Romney, but when these Americans were fighting for our country he was busy, four deferments later, peddling the Book of Mormon in the French countryside.
Actions speak louder than words. It is truly sickening that you people toss around the patriot label like you own it, when you are anything but. The only recovery needed here is recovery from your own folly and delusion.

Here is a taste of your own logic, CW. I changed a couple of key words in your opening paragraph. See if you can still stomach your own garbage:
I’m not at all sure why those of you who are fascinated with [slaves] keep bringing this up, as if it is a winning political theme. It isn’t. The issue is settled. Has been [since the founding of our country]. You won’t change it back. Not ever. Accept it and conduct your own life how you see fit. Against [slavery]? Then don’t [own] one. Pretty simple, huh?
Lame and pointless.
You get a grade of C- because we know if you got a D you wouldn’t graduate, and you’re the type of ungifted student I’d rather just get rid of.
Nice! A+ for clever & impact!
You have nailed it but CW is so closed minded he can’t and never will accept his own logic when applied to him. Liberals only make rules that force other people to do things their way. Their minds are closed, hermetically sealed, they are oblivious to logic. You can’t reach them. Not now. Not ever. Get used to it.
Don’t try to tell anything to some one who already knows EVERYTHING. They are the ungifted upon whom any time or energy spent is wasted.
ZZZZZZzzzzz. CW is just another pro-death zombie.
with regard to the veteran, Romney isn’t in office so who is it that has let that veteran down? Who is it that slapped the face of every veteran and American with his apology to Chris Stevens’ murderers. That was nothing more than a white wash of Obama’s foreign policy. While officials from Libya were going on air and telling the world that the attack on our ambassador and the three others that were murdered that it was a planned terrorist attack for the anniversary of 9/11 Obama had his pawn’s telling the world it had something to do with a video trailer..not only is his apology a disgrace to American’s he also walked all over the constitution by ignoring our freedom of speech. Remember cynical wonder freedom of speech is afforded to us all and if that right is taken away that means it’s taken from you as well. Obama’s reaction to this incident was to attack the maker of a film and even if there is such a film the film maker has the same right to freedom of speech that you and I have, at least we still have it at this point. You should be scared out of your wits at the possibility of that right being taken away, because if it is along with the other trashing of our constitution by Obama we will no longer have a democracy. It will be a dictatorship.
Scary, if true, connection between State department, the Sullivan Group and the video that came out. Go to Proof Positive youtube video. Guy claims false flag possibilities and backs it up with the links. Involves names changes to the video coming out of the Sullivan Group’s avatar identification. The stuff is really buried and convoluted, but there is nothing I would discount without a thorough investigation, which sadly, just doesn’t happen anymore. Don’t think we will ever hear from the videos’s producer either, he has to be scared to death at this point. There is no question that the Obama administration did more to promote the viability and exposure of this video than any other entity, and for me, that feeds into the false flag possibilities rather than away from it. They just couldn’t seem to talk about it enough, I’ve never seen anything like it. The guy that researched this may be a whack job, but would like it to be debunked if so.
The ONLY saving grace is that liberal will eliminate themselves. (My worst self speaking.) How on earth can you justify torture for an unborn baby by ripping it’s arms and legs off and whatever else the forceps grab, before and during “extraction” with NO anesthesia or euthanasia for the baby! Look up the testimony before Congress of the doctor who performs the procedure. Know, also, that these babies suck their thumbs, recognize their mother’s voices (what an ultimate betrayal), feel pain, like music, recoil from being prodding, have sleep/wake cycles, and last but not least have brain waves, the standard by which “life” is defined. This has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with common decency. Obama even advocates, (sponsored a law that was passed in Illinois, to switch doctors for the final solution) killing the baby should it somehow manage to survive the abortion. Address this please.
I pray you have no children and NEVER do. It is obvious from all your comments that you just want to “get rid of” people who challenge your point of view, or inconvenient babies. Sad individual with problems children don’t deserve to experience.

There is NO difference between the two evils. Which one, truly is the evil of two lessers? Vote Constitution Party and get back the roots for which you are TRULY voting. There is NO such thing as a wasted vote!

Step # 1 in any successful 12 step program is ADMITTING YOU HAVE A PROBLEM.
The left don’t view 0bama as a problem but as the solution, and therein lie the “problem”.
The left hates america and sees a need for fundamental transformation.
The right Loves America and sees (despite it’s warts) it as a force for good and freedom.
In my view the left IS the warts.
P.S. I’m a TEA(‘d)(off) Party member.
Fair points, but this isn’t directed at the Left. This is directed at the 8% of the population (give or take) that voted for Obama because they hadn’t really examined him or his background and they believed the “hope & change” stuff.
My name is Rob and I’m a recovering Republican.
I’m a recovering Republican because I blame myself when my party completely accepted the Tea Party, an extremist movement with extremist ideology. I blame myself when my party allowed the Tea Party to completely take over a party that I once knew and loved wholeheartedly. I blame myself because I did not do anything to counter this disease that had infected my party. I blame myself that my party did not do enough to fight this disease.
I’m a recovering Republican because throughout all of my life, I’ve always known that in order to establish a free society, elections should be voted on by the free society and voting should be championed and not suppressed by either political party. I blame myself for my party’s suppression of voter turnouts. I blame myself that my party is not championing voting.
I’m a recovering Republican because I also believe with all of my convictions that in a free society, elections should be won fairly and not be bought. I blame myself when my party started Citizens United to literally buy elections in a free society that I once loved dearly. I blame myself because I now see a future where politics can be bought.
But I am happy to declare that my heart is free and I no longer blame myself anymore because I am a totally recovered Republican.
1) “extreme” has an actual meaning, it’s not just a synonym for “things lefties hate”. Please identify which tea party positions are “extreme” (and keep it to positions they actually espouse, not what you imagine they do).
2) your nonsense about voter suppression is just that: nonsense. Laws that ensure the integrity of votes don’t suppress any legal votes, what they do is prevent those legal votes from being illegally nullified
3) “literally” also has a meaning ( you seem to have a problem with basic vocabulary). No one is “literally buying elections”.
Come back when you have some actual, arguable positions instead of BS talking points and perhaps you’ll be taken seriously.
You are a not recovering totalitarian because
- you still support an administration that is trying to create a marxist regime in America (keyword: “redistribution”)
- you haven’t yet understood that this administration is a tool in the hands of the jihadists (keyword “this is not a terrorist attack”)
- you still support the efforts of this administration to win the elections through voter fraud (keyword “no photo ID to vote but photo ID required to enter the DNC convention)
More pointly, there is practically a 100% overlap between the potential so-called “disenfranchised” voters and those receiving government assistance. Food stamps, rental assistance, medicaid, all require (or are SUPPOSED to require) the recipient to show photo ID when applying.
This hasn’t appeared to be too great a burden to stop people from getting on the public dole. But requiring ID to vote is an insurmountable obstacle? (logic disconnect). It is our right to vote, but it is also a requirement to be a living citizen of age to vote. I repeat THREE requirements: Living, Of Age, Citizen. That needs to be proven. It is NOT undue hardship to prove you are eligible. (key word: eligible. There are many people on American soil who are NOT eligible to vote.)
No, there is one, and only one, reason to oppose voter ID. That’s because you’re a Democrat and you know that voter fraud gives you a lot of votes that you need in close elections. I find the arguments against to be an indication of the “win at all costs” mentality of liberals. Sorry, we see the truth behind your pi$$ poor argument.
And oddly, for being so concerned about disenfranchised voters, Democrats never seem to freak out about military absentee ballots not being counted.
Rob, in the best sense of the word you are ignorant about certain basic facts. First, the Tea Party has not, quite unfortunately, taken over the Republican party. One could only wish that were true. The only thing better would be if the Tea Party were to take over the Democrats as well. The “extreme” positions that the Tea Party espouses as their core pillars of belief are fiscal responsibility, Constitutionally limited government, and free markets. That’s it and nothing more. There is no reason that a sane Democrat or libertarian should not have those same core values as guiding principles as, believe it or not, some do. Sadly, few in the case of the Democrats. Become informed. Then you won’t come off seeming silly and irrelevant to the discourse.
Rob, you speak a game about freedom and courage. So why no last name to go with those virtues? Grow a spine if you’re going to throw words like “extremism” around.
No, Ron is just part of the Micro Targeting that is being done by Mr. President’s campaign on a massive scale.
Ask Rob and others doing this why gas is at $4.00. Then watch them shrink.
Rob and many others have come on board PJM recently, and their rap is pretty much the same. A little bit of “understanding, “concern” tossed in with such earnestness, which is most difficult for Modern Liberals, you can see right throught it, and there you have it.
The game is to create uncertainty (I don’t know why they bother with PJM, they must quite uninformed) so as to suppress enthusiasm and therefore your vote.
This coupled with every disagreement being a “gaffe” in the MSM, is really all they have. Mr. president’s performance has been so sub par, that talking about it would certainly depress most Modern Liberals.
The polls really haven’t moved much at all much to their dismay.
So we have The Fairy Dust Campaign, with willing bootlickers like Rob selling out in a way that that feels good, with little thought behind it.
What did Lenin call them?
Beautifully stated Lucky.
Sorry to bursh your bubble, Mr. Unlucky, but there’s no microtargeting here. By the way, it’s one word and not two so take some grammar lessons.
As far as gas being at $4.00, if you were intelligent, you would know that no president could control the price of gas. Still reading up on conspiracy theories, aren’t we? Gas prices are determined by the oil speculators in Wall Street. Why Wall Street? A few years ago Wall Street invented “commodity index funds” that have poured some $400 billion into speculating in commodities. Now, there is a broad agreement that excessive speculation in commodity markets is needlessly driving up prices. This is the same Wall Street that we think more deregulation is needed. So please stop reading all of your conspiracy theory books. They will only serve you one purpose and that is to make you look like you came from an alternate universe.
…says the guy who now supports the party that believed that the Jews attacked the twin towers, who aligns himself with the party that is utterly convinced that Bush LIIIIIEEEEEDD! You have some nerve talking about conspiracy theories!
Sure Rob. Gas is traded in dollars. The Fed prints excess money (“excessive speculation”). Would the Fed chairman defy Mr. President if he said, “don’t print”? The rise in gas prices in due in large part because of inflationary $$$ printing. There is a quite a bit of product available, both inflated $$$ and oil.
As for Wall St. Those dollars are printed for their benefit, not for the the average Rob. You get ripped off with every dolar you earn. That leads back to Mr. President’s policies, whose great love for their $upport is well documented. Ass, kiss, happy.
And, Micro Targeting comes in 3 flavors – Micro targeting, Microtargeting and micro-targeting. Google…. Take your pick.
So Rob, what party are you now affiliated with? If you’ve fundamentally transformed into a Democrat then all the things you accuse the Republican Party of are a part of the Democrat party. You know, things like the MSM working for Obama, the White House daily approvings of the media reports before the news is published, acceptance of Marxism and Islamic extremists…all those “little” things. Or are you now a Libertarian who will vote for Ron Paul in which case your vote will be a vote for Obama? I’m not a Republican, I’m an Independent on the side of Conservative. I do not vote for the party but for the person I think will do the most good for our country. Have a great day!
I’m glad you asked. At this point, I truly hope the Independent Party would rise to meet the strength of the current 2 parties. If we had a 3 party system in Congress of equal power in both the House and the Senate, the Independent Party could act as the judge and jury for all legislations that are being brought forth. There would always be a 2 party to 1 majority. This 2 party system will be our downfall since both parties have moved so far apart in opposite directions of the political spectrum. Political gridlock will be our everyday life from this point on.
Nope. No way. I disbelieve. You, sir, are full of it if you expect anyone to buy that you want a third party. No one who reads your #3 post will think that you are anything other than a ridiculous troll. Any talk of a third party, so close to such an important election, is simply a transparent ploy to divide the conservative vote. Go back to your cave, troll.
No Rob, you’re just another basement dwelling Paulbot.
The best and the brightest were mostly born that way,and raised that way.Where they hit the bug zapper is by following blindly.Perhaps blindly is the wrong word.It is an addiction. Its the wrong media, the educational Meccas, that stunt their growth and are guilty for all of this voting stupidly and political alcoholism.
I think a more effective message is “John McCain is an idiot. He told us, one and all, that Barack Obama would make a fine President. He told us that the country would be in good hands regardless of who won the election. That was false. It’s now clear that the country would have been in incompetent hands no matter who won the election. We were presented with two equally bad choices, it’s not your fault that you chose unwisely because there was, in fact, no choice involved. It was a lose-lose situation, damned if you Obama and damned if you McCain. You chose to lose with Obama, others of us chose to lose with McCain. We were all losers. Let’s now be winners… and you can’t be a winner with Obama.”
Chris, what you leave out of the equation is Sarah Palin. She would have made a positive difference to the McCain administration. Of McCain, Palin, Zer0, and Biden, she’s by far the best of the lot.
That would be true were it not for the fact that McCain despised Palin, that his minions despised Palin, and that the Establishment Republicans despised Palin. McCain realized early on that the Palin pick was a huge mistake… she should have been heading the ticket and, had she, he wouldn’t have been on it at all. McCain was the “maverick” fighting against Conservatives for the Establishment Republicans and Palin was the “maverick” fighting for Conservatives against the Establishment Republicans.
Chris, I agree with all you say. My point was that any administration with Palin would have been better than the thugs and incompetents of the Zer0 administration. And, yes, more disturbing than the present disaster in the WH is the fact that there were, and still are, so many dumbed-down dupes willing to vote for a demonstrable Liar, Cheat, and Traitor in Chief.
An aside: many conservative Americans think that Canada is a more balanced country, politically, than the USA. Yes, we have a fine, mature PM, (Conservative) Stephen Harper, but he’s utterly reviled by our consensus media and elites, and most Canadians are quite drunk on the progressive Kool Aid: 65% of (mainly ignorant) Canadians would vote for Zer0 if they could. (76% of Quebecers would: Quebec is our far-out-of-left-field socialist province. Its recent separatist government did its [possibly invalid] swearing-in ceremony in private: both the Canadian flag and the oath to the Queen were removed. Like many of your 47%, Quebec receives $$billions from the Rest of Canada in transfer payments, which is why Quebec pretends it can provide “low cost” social programs, while its economy is tanking. Is Quebec grateful for the hand-outs? No way! Actually, to hell with them: a lot of us would happily show them the door—and would enjoy seeing these spoiled brat, OWS-type, phony Canadians hit hard on the way out.)
We’re living in CRAZY and perilous times.
I think the GOP might have dodged a bullet thanks to the inept McCain Campaign. The only areas where I see differences with Bambi are energy policy (he probably wouldn’t have enacted the drilling moratorium and the ongoing ban on coal, plus he wouldn’t have stopped the Keystone Pipeline) and he wouldn’t have tossed our traditional allies aside while rushing to embrace stated enemies of freedom. Those changes would have helped the economy because it’s impossible to overstate the impact that high energy prices have on stifling economic growth. However, he’d have had a Democratic Party controlled Congress and he’s notorious for “reaching across the aisle” to stab Conservatives in the back, front, side, eyes, mouth and all other body parts. Frankly, I wouldn’t have been surprised to have seen McCainCare signed into law with “broad bipartisan support”. And we’d have “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” by now, again with “broad bipartisan support”. The Dems could have probably enacted 90% of Obama’s agenda with a McCain Presidency and destroyed the GOP because McCain would have been blamed for all the truly horrible results of the execrable Democratic Party Policies.
Interesting observations, ChrisS.
I recall seeing Juan McCain on O’Reilly at the gym. When Juan spoke of his being a ‘Conservative’.. I knew then the GOP picked a TOTAL loser and liar.
Now granted he’s a politician.. unfortunately.
Fern; of the Society of Stupid People had character.
This while ignoring the fact (except that slice of voters who are far to the left and welcomed it) that ’60s and ’70s radicals have turned the universities into left-wing hothouses
Wrong! It started much earlier, the 30′s through the 50′s and the 60′s and 70′s radicals simply completed the transformation. I was in college in the 60′s and the groundwork was already laid.
“hothouses” should be “nuthouses”
There. Fixed it.
Hi, I’m a recovering Republican, having joined the reality-based community last year after my party of 25 years went bat*hit crazy. These days Reagan would not be extreme enough for the GOP.
You people aren’t the least bit convincing.
But, as long as you consider yourself “reality based” you should have no problem backing up your parrot-language with some facts.
Please describe which Republican positions are extreme. For bonus points please tell me what makes them more “extreme” than their Democratic opposition.
Extreme = “legitimate rape” “effectively no taxes for millionaires” “no abortions ever” “Obama is a Muslim” “Obama is a communist” “reducing benefits for veterans” “reducing Medicaid” “privatizing Social Security” “Medicare vouchers for old people” “Liberals are sick” “Ayn Rand did not drown kittens as a hobby” “Rush Limbaugh is not a racist gasbag”
You want to win a presidential election? Go read the 1956 GOP platform. Adopt it with John Huntsman as your candidate.
Say DisasterBaiter, how much of your paycheck is mine? 80%? Sounds good to me. Keep enough, just to stay alive, and until you are no longer useful to “us”.
Give it up, or your Friendly Uncle will bring guns.
“legitimate rape”: a comical statement repudiated by virtually every Republican on the planet. Not a policy.
“effectively no taxes for millionaires”: Not a Republican policy. Also it’s complete BS.
“no abortions ever”: Not a Republican policy. But even if it was it’s a position held by nearly half the country and therefore can’t reasonably be called “extreme”. It’s certainly no more extreme than “abortion on demand up to and including a few minutes after birth”, which is Obama’s position.
“Obama is a Muslim”: not a Republican policy. Not a policy at all, actually. And certainly it’s no more extreme than saying the President is a mass-murdering war criminal, as the Left spent 8 years doing.
“Obama is a communist”: not a Republican policy, but it’s an arguable position. Also no more extreme than what was said about Bush by Democrats.
“reducing benefits for veterans”: What benefits? When? And what makes this policy “extreme”?
“reducing Medicaid” “privatizing Social Security” “Medicare vouchers for old people”: Again, how are these policies any more extreme than those proposed by Democrats?
“Liberals are sick” “Ayn Rand did not drown kittens as a hobby” “Rush Limbaugh is not a racist gasbag”: I know you think you’re being funny here, but you’re just proving my point that you and the rest of the “reality based community” have no idea at all what the word “extreme” actually, you know, means.
You use the word “extreme” in an attempt to dismiss your opponent’s arguments as illegitmate rather than actually debate their merits. And the reason you do that is that the merits of the argument are not on your side.
Sorry, I’m not here for a debate. Just giving my opinion. Anyway, the problem you have is that lots of people perceive these extreme views as “Republican”. They are way outside of the mainstream, easy to make fun of, and make it difficult to win elections.
To win elections consistently you are going to have to move to the center, basically reinventing the Republican party to make it attractive to TWANLOCs. That is reality.
The point of Mister Disaster is that he is a far left Liberal and just another member of the Fairey Dust committee.
As he said, he’s not here for debate. He’s here to do a Saul Alinsky style mock-and-ridicule, tying you personally to things he knows you don’t actually believe, but forcing you to defend them anyway, because if you’re not with him, you’re against him, and therefore must be overton-windowed into the most villainous prick alive, while he moves the goalposts ever farther leftward; a “New Normal”.
“reducing benefits for veterans”
That’s how you know they’re just a parrot troll..while the fantasy-based community imputes this evil to Republicans, Obama has actually done this.
Since you are not here to debate, I will simply call you a silly person and a sad waste of the power grid. There, I am simply expressing my opinion.
HAHA! You shot down every single pathetic point “Master of Retardation” made! I’m pretty sure he’s not a recovering republican, but rather a recovering “special needs” student, and the person who evaluated him and deemed him worthy of big boy talk with grownups. Was completely hammered at the time, and thought he was evaluating a tree stump.
Plus, I absolutely love his retort “I’m not here to debate”…hahahahahaha! Says the person who is losing the debate, every single time. And, have you forgotten all of your posts already?! That is all you’ve done in this comment section, is debate! Look, I understand it’s incredibly hard for liberals not to flip-flop on everything they say and do, really hard not to lie about everything, hard to not be insanely insecure inside and cover that insecurity up with a loud vitriolic front. But you don’t have to lie to us, republicans and conservatives are usually civil people, and we can actually handle truthfulness. But I’m going to recommend that you, Master of Alabaster, up your appointments, and see your psychologist not once but three times a week now. Discuss what your parents did to you, talk about your lust for murdering unborn babies, and you desire to sleep with men. And see if he will prescribe higher doses of your mood-stabilizer.
Then, come back in here and be happy, and don’t let your nose go all Pinocchio when you’re chatting it up to other members here. Oh and, wonderful reply James. Those cold hard facts like you’ve stated here, usually send the ol’ libtards into an uncontrollable frenzy of rage and secretive self-doubt.
I’m not going to address most of your allegtions since, what you consider “extreme” I consider common sense lassaiz faire governance.
But “the no abortions ever” mantra just pisses me off. I’ve heard even “conservatives” say abortion is OK in the case of rape or incest. Can someone explain to me why the life of a child conceived as a result of rape or incest has less value than a child conceived in the back seat of daddies Buick?
A child is a child regardless of how it came to be. Either abortion is murder or it isn’t.
And why do liberals think killing a baby is ok, but try to execute a murderer and they give you the whole sanctity of life argument. Just a matter of timing I guess.
It’s not that the child’s life has no value. It’s that in the instance of rape the choice of the mother has to count for at least something. Making her have the child means she has no choice in the matter at all. Forcing a woman to have a child that was conceived by rape is immoral.
In Reply To Jeff Cox
But murdering an innocent baby that had no choice either in the matter, a baby that has a right to life just like you did, that’s okay somehow?! So you would give your life up if your mother had been raped? It would be interesting to see how many pro-baby murderers there would be, if they had to kill themselves now, if there mother and father decided they didn’t want them to live anymore. If you support not murdering little babies, well your parents don’t have that choice, and thus you can’t be forced to kill yourself. It’s always so funny to me, though, I wonder how many pro-baby murder supporters, ever think about the irony of the fact that their mother gave them life, and gave them the ability to grow and espouse how much they love and support torturing, mutilating, chopping up, leaving outside to die in the sun, little innocent babies.
If anyone here would like a picture of a late-term aborted innocent baby, please do let me know, and I’ll email it to you. In fact, if you think murdering babies is acceptable, you should be the very first person to comb through hundreds of pictures of aborted children. You don’t have to of course, but that just makes a spineless, scumbag, hypocrite coward, on top of being a baby murder cheerleader.
Yeah.. ‘Ok’.
Did you take in ANY of the DNC and it’s ahem ‘speakers’?
How about Uhblamo STILL trying to pass the buck on, well EVERYTHING on Univision?
No budget for 3 + years, +$1 trillion dollar deficits EVERY year of this administration, abysmal unemployment and labor #’s, the MIA-like ‘M E policy’, shunning our allies and their dangers, running rampant over state’s legally passed immigration reform bills, granting amnesty for millions solely for political expediency’s sake all the while ignoring the Federal laws on the books, etc.,
I’d call our composite President an empty suit but this nowhere man doesn’t deserve that ‘accolade’.
I’m an Independent and granted the GOP upsets me but because they’re not your squishy, Juan McCain-like in many respects you feel they’ve gone overboard? Look at the alternative, it sucks.
When “Socialist” went sour, the totalitarians used “Liberal”. When “Liberal” went sour, they used “Progressive”. Now that “Progressive” has gone sour, they insist on “Reality-Based-Community”. They assume that they’ve finally found an unassailible term that automatically casts those who don’t buy in as fundamentalist fanatic outsiders.
Once they realize that this isn’t bulletproof for them either, they’ll finally have no choice but to move to their final destination, and play the final card in their hand.
Khilafah. Ummah.
I hope a lot of people read the book. But I think the problem is deeper. A LOT of people are just going to have to admit they made a mistake voting for Obama in the first place. Nobody likes to be made a fool of, and nobody likes being taken advantage of. Both of those things happened to Obama supporters when they voted for a guy with no experience in anything and made him president of the United States. So for a lot of people it’s just a lot easier to claim you were right to begin with (and, trust me, I know a lot of these people) rather than admit you made a mistake and vote for somebody else. I hope common sense trumps stubbornness on November 6, for the sake of this country.
Hey folks, I am also a recovering Republican. I used to hold out hope that the party of Lincoln would come back to reality and common sense, but the Republican Primaries convinced me that the lunatics have taken over the asylum. From Michelle Bachmann’s ravings, to the total performance art joke candidacy of Herman Cain,to the party’s complete and total stonewalling of Ron Paul, I have seen that all the smart people have left the building, and have been replaced by con artists, grifters and used-car salesman. This is not the party of Goldwater and Reagan anymore. This is the party of no-nothing-ism, of hate and victimization. Until the party tries to start actually attracting new voters with bold and inspiring ideas, it will continue to lose, and may well end up in the trash bin of history. But I’ll be darned if I’m going to go along for that ride.
Buuuuurpp.
Too subtle
Oh hey everybody, my name is Chuck, and some liberal is paying me to troll this site. Isn’t that great?
But I think after all that has been said here, Obama is going to get re-elected. For a while I thought there would be a large get out the vote against Obama just as there was a land side vote against Bush and all things Republican in 2008. Now I think he’s going to get in because people accept what’s going on in the USA and in the Mid-East as the new normal. A normal that they can somehow live through and make it to 2016.
Yeah, maybe some people love America more than they hate Obama.
And voting for Obama demonstrates love for America… how, exactly?
There are only two explanations for Obama’s performance as President. Either his policies haven’t had their intended effect and he’s badly incompetant. In that case he should be voted out. Or his policies HAVE had their intended effect and he’s trying to destroy our country, in which case he should be tried for treason.
What America do you mean? The People’s Democratic Republic of America? No thanks, I like the old one better.
A new normal to who?
There could also be made another analogy to Obama voters as sufferers of “Stockhom Syndrome” who have lived in the bondage of government dependency for so long (“government plantation slaves”), they are simply afraid of ANY alternative, and will desperately & hysterically cling to ANYONE who promises to keep them there, using words like “fairness” & “forward” which is just bogus, since anyone who votes for someone like that is consigning themselves to being STATIC, not advancing anywhere, much less “FORWARD”.
@ Mr Lucky: Death threats now? Moderators anywhere? Of course, this is to be expected from EXTREMISTS.
Goes to prove my point. Today’s Republicans aren’t really fit for office because their dislike of the other party overrides all other considerations. Democrats weren’t in love with W, but there was no talk of secession, or of Republicans not really being Americans.
He’s been ODing on the little blue pills for a while now. As the news for Romney gets more grim expect their rhetoric and behavior to get more heated and irrational.
For those of you who have worked in the hospice care industry, you may have heard the term “death rattles.” This is the process that describes the very last stages of death. The behavior Mr. Lucky seems to be manifesting is the similar to the stage right before the death rattles set in, such as delirium and Myoclonic jerking. After, these disturbing manifestations pass the death rattles set in and the patient passes peacefully within 24 hours. This is a perfectly natural process. All we do as caregivers is make the patient comfortable and let nature take its course. Mr. Lucky should be treated no differently.
Aw CW, you little rascal, you!
And look. The once mighty C. Blunder reduced to selling Biden joke on PJM.
Hey guest what! There is big work in Zimbabwe for a cesspooler like C. Blunder.
“Zimbabwe City Residents Synchronize Toilet Flush”.
Don’t pass up the golden brown hued opportunity, “you people”! Think of it. You jusr so good at it. Helping the oppressed too. That’s worth some Modern Liberal dispensations.
You know, take DiasterBaiter off the Kick Me sign nailed to your ass. It’s not fair, he’s so much more fragile than you. Clang!
Buuuck, buck, buck, buck.
“Democrats weren’t in love with W, but there was no talk of secession, or of Republicans not really being Americans.”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, God, that was the funniest comment I’ve read in…well, FOREVER!
Let me guess: from 2000 to 2008, you had your HEADPHONES ON! Couldn’t HEAR ANYTHING! Dems should have HATED LOUDER!!!
Oh, man. What a card…
Is this you DiasterBaiter? What’s with this MoD stuff? Some sort of a special code for a very, very special Modern Liberal, with one of those Dog Whistle Ring decoders? But of course, an appeal to authority always works. Boo! Still frightened? Tears too? Pee pee? Do do?
Are you really that lame? Lame. Really Lame. “Goes to prove my point.” Ah yes, the self perpetuating Circle of Self Pleasuring Logic – DiasterBaiter! Remember. Never let a Disaster go to waste. Close enough.
Poor thing. And Modern Liberals are supposed to be so cool, so ironic, ssoooo hip. Too much stale Old Hip (see C. Blunder below) Letterman?
Ok. DisaterBaiter, Friendly Uncle… Sam!
Yes, the Government can and does demand your $$$. Don’t pay, and eventually your Great Protector will appear at your doorstep and demand payment. Resist and they will use force, deadly force if they so deem. Don’t let some informant get mad at you. Or a wrong a address w/joint. Or sneak and peak. Your Friendly Uncle Sam. So fork over to the emotional extortion racket, because some people really really want your $$$ because. Just because. And you’ll feel so good.
It’s quite odd how if one does not support your tribal propaganda, they are the worst of all possible beings – a Republican! Not like one might be a Commie, a Socialist, Libertarian, Independent, Whatever. Not with the Totalitarian Modern Liberal. Obey or you are bad! Double bad! Republican bad! You can’t hold office bad!
Hey, go cry to your handlers so you can get a raise to supply “us” with more of the fruits of your labor.
Work hard now. “Us” needs it! Also, how about more? No please needed. Just a demand. Careful. “Us” might go Pakistan on you. Feed “us” well.
Everyone knows that you shouldn’t be drinking the tap water if you are close by to a fracking site.
Wow, a little DiasasterBaiter/C. Blunder tag team action here. Do “you people” and MoD Whatever have video yet? Who gets to play Napolitano?
Remember to donate the proceeds to Mr. President campaign on one of his many ledgers. He needs the money more than “you people” do. His boots are getting a bit worn on the top, so many of “you people” applying the Modern Liberal tongue on them. Buy him a “pair” now!
Mmm, mmm, mmm. Lick on! Kiwi rules!
C. Blunder. How about “you people”? Is that the “Everyone”?
“Being lied to”. Indeed, a way of being.
Damn, the Kick Me sign nailed to your ass looks like DiasterBaiter’s mug. Clang!
Nothing like Modern Liberal symbiosis in action.
Buuuck, buck, buck, buck.
Actually, you are wrong. Where I live the libs were stuck on mouth-frothing mode for 8 solid years. Bush could not have been more demonized.
Of course there was no talk of secession–what liberal would willingly walk away from the gravy train? It is the abused, not the abuser, who finally musters the courage to walk away from the relationship.
I suppose that those of whom voted for Obama, should’ve done more homework on his background, his accomplishments, etc. But, by the very same token.. look at what happened per George W. Bush. Just goes to show us all.. the fact that, doing a ‘background check’ is not the be-all in determining who to vote for. Many times, a candidates BS can seem real and legit, if its presented just right. Personally, my own mind-reading skills are the pits!
Rubbish. GWB was just a guy we elected President. He was not the Conservative Jesus. Rich little white children did not sing songs about him in school. I don’t recall anyone crying tears of joy at his inauguration. Our legs didn’t tingle at all – well, mine didn’t, anyway. We never mistook GWB for anything other than a MAN. If he screwed up – well, men do that sometimes.
Obama was a whole new thing – the Progressive Messiah! Nobody checked his background because nobody was interested. They just projected all their hopes and dreams onto him and cast their ballots with their emotions.
I don’t understand all the “Messiah” tripe that the right wing likes to rattle on about. Obama was running against Clinton, who ultimately lost the nomination because she wouldn’t back off her support for the war in Iraq. Either would have won against Bush. Neither is a religious icon, and while I’m not all that happy with Obama, I will be voting for him again against Romney. I think enough people will do the same for Obama to win the election.
I also don’t understand the Messiah stuff. A Messiah, after all, has a purpose – to SAVE US and establish Peace and Harmony on Earth.
Obama never promised that! It’s just a farfarfarfarfarfar RIGHTWINGEREXTREMIST Myth that Obama promised that. Good Grief! Weren’t they listening? Obama promised to Stop The Rise of The Seas! To Heal the SICK! To FEED the POOR! To Create JOSJOBSJOBS, and Brandynew INFRASTRUCTURE! Economic Recovery! Higher Education for ALL! CLEAN AIR and VERY skyrocketingly expensive electricity. Let’s not forget AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE For EVERYONE! A gazillion Windmills to create FREE ENERGY from the SUN! The end of Unnecessary Wars! Economic Growth! Closing of Gitmo! Outlawing of Torture and Assassination (especially by Drone!) Racial Harmony! Free Birth Control! HOPE AND CHANGE!
That doesn’t sound like somebody trying to “Save Us”, does it?
Silly farfarfarfarfarfar rightwingerextremist rabbits. How could they possibly oppose all that? I mean, all the Most Intellectual Prezident Won in History wants for such FREE largess is for us to Give Him All our Money, and to OBEY the beginning of Obama Rule on Day One!!
Republicans don’t want that! They are so Greedy! Messiah, indeed. Don’t the Republican dummies know FURHERPRINZIP when the see it?
Um, does ‘Hope and Change’ ring a bell? Obama was definitely packaged as the savior of the liberal dream.
You may have forgotten, it was sooo long ago, but Bush was not running in 2008. So neither Hillary nor Obama would have beat him. McCain was running, not my favorite for some reasons, but acceptable. Palin had more experience at administration, and more brains for that matter, than either Community Organizer and Shady Lawyer Obama or Gaffe-a-Day Joe. We could do a lot worse than a Palin Presidency, and over the last four years we did.
No, they would simply write and produce movies glorifying the assassination of a sitting president.
I hate to say it, but at the rate its going, despite the best efforts, Trillion Dollar Deficit Obama will be back, and by the time he leaves, the debt will be beyond any hope of even a Simpson Bowles solution. The US, thanks to the “love” of the Democrats, will be a broken nation, with worthless currency, soup kitchens and bread lines.
Worse than the Great Depression. Back then, we got out of it by building stuff. Now, we know there are no shovel-ready projects. Well, there would be, but lawyers, union bigs, activists… everyone gets there say except for the actual workers, and the project gets Keystoned.
Republicans have to remember they are going upstream. Every error they make gets magnified. Rommey’s “47%” spells doom, Obama’s “You can keep your doctor”, while complete and utter bullspit, gets a shrug at best.
It’s in the personalities. Not of the leaders- lord knows Obama is the most narcissistic leader we’ve ever had- but in the movements. Liberals get architects, Conservatives get engineers. Liberals write songs, conservative write specifications. Liberals sing songs, conservatives write business plans. Boring business plans full of boring words.
Liberals tell you how you’re going to have rainbows and unicorns and conservative are hateful and mean when they say we can’t afford it, conservatives tell you to go catch your own unicorn if you want it so much.
Conservatives think the threat to America is a mob with Korans and bombs. Liberals think it’s conservatives.
We’ve got accountants and soldiers and diggers and builders and welders. They’ve got the hip, cool creative set.
We’re playing on their turf, when we’re playing to win over hearts, and that means we’ve got to play twice as well as they do. So far… it’s not there yet.
We’ve got to play their way. Enough with the things that don’t resonate.
Abortion? Doesn’t resonate. Cynical Wonder is right on that one. So why talk about killing babies? It won’t win.
Let’s talk about the Obama deficit. Let’s talk about trillions that simply can’t be paid back, ever. Let’s talk about what happens when nations run up such debts and print money to pay them off- and we’ve seen in, in South America, in Europe, many times and many places.
And ask Democrats, why do you say you love America, when you’re trying to kill it?
“But Bush…”
Isn’t running. And anything he did does not matter. The ship of state is sinking NOW. Why are you trying to kill us NOW, with your deficit.
“But the rich…”
Do not have enough money to pay off Obama’s debts. NO ONE DOES. NO ONE WILL. If we arbitrarily upped the taxes on incomes over a million by a few points, would it be enough for you to focus on what’s killing us?
While listening to an internet streaming radio station last night, they were playing some audio of obummer making statements about Holder, Fast and Furious, etc.. and it took me a few moments before I could mute his repulsive voice.. and I paused for a few seconds and took note of what the obummer was saying.. Within each sentence, there were MULTIPLE LIES, LIE FRAGMENTS to the tune of 3, 4 or more LIES between periods. I don’t think I ever heard a human being generate that many lies in such a short span of words.. this thing, this humanoid freak is a LYING MACHINE !! For God’s sake, the stability of the entire PLANET is at stake..
Don’t blame me for this disaster. Everyone knew where I stood in ’08. I got death threats for opposing this guy.
I am moderately amused.
1) I invented the acronym TWANLOC over at Richard Fernandez’ PJM site BELMONT CLUB a couple of years ago, and watched it spread.
2) As the inventor, I rather think I have some insight as to who is and is not. The current infestation from OFA’s online operation pretty much self identifies.
3) I suspect that the majority if not all of the pests neither know the meaning of the acronym, nor the fairly specific definitions behind the term.
By the pricking of my thumb, something Чекист this way comes.
For those who are dismayed by the infestation, and tempted not to engage in this thread; I offer two thoughts.
First, When you are drawing flak, you are over the target, press on.
Second, Don’t fear what they do now, because if Obama remains in office by one way or another, they will be doing far worse to all of us.

“It’s the left, says Karpel, that’s truly “faith-based,””
Oh. Really? What ever gave him the clue?
