That’s the Obama I Knew
So America shrugged, and he was elected despite the fact that he was still largely a mystery on November 4, 2008. Now, more than 100 days into the Obama era, what do we know about this man and his intentions? A lot, as it turns out. Consider four salient events from April alone:
1. At the G-20 Summit on April 1, after greeting other heads of state according to perfectly standard protocol, Obama bowed deeply to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, a shocking gesture of submission and fealty to a foreign head of state.
2. On April 7, Obama’s Department of Homeland Security warned of the dangers of “right-wing” extremists, which it helpfully defines as Americans concerned with specific issues like firearms rights and immigration — essentially labeling half of America (the half that didn’t vote for Obama, coincidentally) a security threat.
3. On April 18 at the Summit of the Americas, Obama vigorously glad-handed Venezuela’s virulently anti-American dictator Hugo Chavez, greeting the communist thug like an old buddy from Hyde Park.
4. On April 21, President Obama admitted that he would be open to prosecuting members of the previous administration for measures undertaken in the desperate race to prevent another attack in the aftermath of 9/11.
These events are troubling, but are they surprising? Is it surprising that someone who entered into a business relationship with a former and unrepentant terrorist would be so friendly with an America-hater like Hugo Chavez? That a man who heard from his spiritual mentor time and again about the evils of his own country would bow before the king of another? That a man who openly praised and promised government thuggery would move to criminalize his political opponents? And this, clearly, is only the beginning.
For many, President Barack Obama is just now coming into focus. For some of us, he was clear all along.
The troubling thing is not those who were duped. It is those who actually like the Obama coming into focus.
I am bitter, yes, I knew him all along, it was so obvious. But what does it say about America? What kind of people we are that are willing to elect such a person? Are we a bunch of idiots, at least half of us? I would like to think is a combination of factors, and that Obama literally slipped on us under the door, a master of deception who started redesigning his own life with a political, so-called autobiography that smacks of Mein Kampft, for the purpose this book has of creating a fictitious narrative and politician. As cynical French diplomat Joseph Maria de Maistre once wrote: each country has the government it deserves.
53 per cent of the American sheeple were fooled because they wanted to be fooled because they are fools. If the damage that’s coming down the road could be limited to those 53 per cent, then we would have justice. Unfortunately that’s not the case.
What troubled me most about Obama from the beginning were the lies. His parents met at the March on Selma. He never heard any controversial words from his Pastor but was in church “every Sunday at 11″. Ayers was someone in the neighborhood he knew because their “kids went to school together”.
TomF is right, there are a lot of people who like the Obama coming into focus. The “blank slate act” doesn’t play everywhere but where it does, the applause is deafening. I hope the play closes after its first run.
This article is, to use the argot of the playground, a gyp. The title makes it sound like the author is a former friend of Obama’s. Instead it just recycles old talking points that failed the first time around.
The tenor of the comments to this post speak to the fear bordering on nausea that is pervading a portion of the public, but another thread keeps popping up: “What shall we do?” say they, running about in circles with their hands on their heads.
Here is what I suggest. Start a committee to support Sheila Bair to represent the Republicans in the next election.
May I humbly suggest that Sheila Bair, head of FDIC, would make a worthy candidate in 2012. Her views are fact-based, her stage-presence is superior to that of President Obama, her intellectual achievements and personal history are available to public view, she has run for office as a Republican in the past, her values are mainstream, and she has a grasp of economic issues that is so advanced that she leaves Mr. Obama in the HEPA-filter dust. She can win, becoming America’s first female American president.
Should you not be in a position to start such a committee, then kindly include the above-paragraph in every one of your emails. Chances are someone will ultimately decide to look into her as a real alternative to President Obama.
Everybody knew exactly who Obama was when he made his “we are the ones we have been waiting for” speech in Berlin last summer.
My only hope is that our great country survives this man and his socialist agenda. But I figure if we can survive four years of Jimmy Carter we can
survive nearly anything.
The four salient events this article points out are hardly worth mentioning compared to the kind of person Obama is.
He is a man whose normal thought process is brooding anger embedded in deep hatred for the many injustices to his (the black race) people committed by America, whites and Jews.
It is not enough to simply acknowledge what happened to black people throughout history and accept the facts that many, if not all of these atrocities have long since been recognized and corrected by civilized society.
Both Muslim (Islam) and Black Liberation Theology demand perpetual violent actions be taken against America, whites and Jews as punishment for their suppression of blacks. In other words there can never be an end to this maniacal thought process because in their mind America, whites and Jews cannot be made to suffer enough to say that justice has been served.
From early childhood on Obama was taught to choose a woman that hates in the same ways he does as his wife and to associate with people like Bill Ayers and Reverend Jeremy Wright. He is a product of his environment that can no more change what he understands is normal to him than you or I can do the same for however we were taught by our parents (whomever / whatever) as we grew up.
In spite of the MSM suppression of anything negative about Obama all of this information, plus much, much more was available to anyone with a mind to do a bare minimum of research prior to the elections.
Bottom Line: Sooner or later the odds are going to catch up with the United States of America when it comes to the abandon with which we live our lives and choose our leaders.
He loves to be in the company of radicals.

-At the G-20, Obama made a huge faux pas. While his bow was deeper, Bush did the same thing.
-The DHS did warn against far right wingers, and didn’t make a point a left wingers. Are they wrong?

-shaking Chavez hand is not a problem. Leaders should shake hands, and smile. How he deals with him remains to be seen. Chavez is a radical.
-if he prosecutes, it will be very unpopular and hurt his presidency. let’s hope it’s red meat for the angry left.
Obama will destabilize the country with his budget. He has underminded the CIA, and intelligence gathering of the country. Hopefully we don’t have a terror act committed here because of it.

We must, politely but firmly, take to task our relatives and friends who still take seriously the MSM. They are behaving in an immature manner. One does not have the moral right to remain ignorant. It only takes a little bit of time to get their act together. We do not live in the former Soviet Union. It’s still relatively easy to obtain a clearer understanding concerning the issues of the day.
How can anyone claim to have been had. This is the age of transparency/information this is the age where access to everyones past roses or a cesspool is available. Obamas unwillingness to come clean on anything unless he was blatantly caught out was repeated over and over again. Many of his close associates were/are either crooks, extremists or people who sailed very very close to the wind and held their course for many many years. This is a man with no academic, medical records, a man with very limited worldliness, no leadership experience. They call him an orator, I called him a con man.
Obama became President because he was black and he was ‘made’(he is but a tool). Many americans voted for him were caught up in the Con/fantasy or because they felt afraid to express or vote otherwise(intimidation).
Obamas victory is empty and dangerous to both the USA and the rest of the world. I wonder aloud where are all the Black cabinet members, where are all the minority advisors in his administration? I see alot of Lesbians and extreme leftsists who happen to have jewish sounding surnames.

I actually understand, if not agree with, why Mr. Obama spent 20 years in Wright’s church. He needed some “black” authenticity. Explainable and arguably not that big a deal. It’s no longer speak softly and carry a big stick, it’s be opaque and speak of transparency. The manipulator was elected on the numeric strength of those who would rather be manipulated. There were millions of Americans who did get a chill down their spine(s), and didn’t need the media to tell them what to think about it. We noticed. We talked about it. We were scared of him from at least July of 2008 forward.

Yet we are constantly told how intelligent the messiah is. With what evidence? There is none. His grades are not available, nor his test scores.
He didn’t publish any papers while at Harvard. He brought no significant legislation while in the senate. He fumbles the simplest questions when not using his crutch. The reporters at his press conferences are pre-selected for him. He mangles even US history constantly. Ask a liberal to defend this. They can’t. This whole thing is one big media-created poof of nothing.
When 50% of the American people pay less than 4% of the income tax burden of the nation you are preparing the road to serfdom, first, for the other 50%, and eventually for all.
Obama is taking advantage of what previous administrations of republicans and democrats allowed to happen; the creation in a significant part of the population of an entitlement and envious mentality which will vote and follow those that will provide them with the money to which they think they are entitled, and the satisfaction of seeing others more successful brought down to their level. I hope down the line we don’t hear the cry of “guillotine, guillotine”
No one who voted for O should claim to have been fooled. I tuned into one of the Democrat “debates”, and to my shock, what I heard was a stage-full of candidates arguing about who was the bigger Marxist. This philosophy was hiding in plain sight.

Cowardly would be a more accurate description. By following the crowd (and buying the MSM line is a form of following the crowd), they’re deferring to the group. I’ve known such people, and what they really want is to avoid making waves. The seek approval, but more than that, they avoid conflict at all costs.
Yes, you’re right, that not allowing them to escape controversy will remedy this. Some of the thoughts may be in line with Rush’s, but that doesn’t invalidate them. Interestingly how Chris says these posters are channeling Fox News while he perfectly repeating DNC talking points.
As for Obama, all one had to do was pay attention to the content of his speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2004. It was a leninist wish list. What the last election shows is the MSM has the power to sway a significant portion of the electorate. The sugar coating of Obama’s past, the creation of a false centrist image, and a refusal to call him out on his lies easily swayed enough emotional (as opposed to THOUGHTFUL or analytical) independents into voting for him. Let us not forget the broadcasting of lies about Sarah Palin that also did a good deal to suppress centrist sentiment for McCain.
As long as the MSM can continue to give billions of dollars of free advertising to the Democrat party, the Right will continue to struggle to make itself heard to the all-important emotional, centrist voter.
Now that some of you are seeing the real Obama now is the time to sit back and watch him closely. I don’t think he is smart enough to be a closet Muslim, or a socialist but simply a flaming liberal. His pick for the supreme court will tell you volumes about his ideas and future plans. His reckless spending policies, his liberal socialist world views, and his view of the big government spending will ruin the work ethic (whats left) in this country. The American people got what they voted for in the last election: change. Change in moving our republic to a fascist state that will be hard to dig out from under the crushing weight of government intrusion into every aspect of our lives. The freedom and liberty that was provided to us by the Founding fathers of this country is all but gone.
Obama is exactly the President we should have based on our national makeup and dearth of values. The drift of so many towards shallowness, intellectual lazines, amorality, contempt for and ignorance of history and America have created a perfect-storm vacuum into which Obama has emerged. There just haven’t been enough of us who care about all those things that make this the country it once was to make a difference. We had a matchup between a tired old “maverick” and a feral dissembler, and the best they could do for running mates were a governor with no experience outside her state and a Senator with a lot less experience than he should have had for all the years he’s been in public office.

I saw many interesting comments. I cry over the fact that too few Americans chose to do their homework and look beneath the surface of an empty suit.

Here is my assessment:

2. Mental State – I am not a psychiatrist but I have been reading up about narcissism and Barry fits the bill. However, it recently struck me that Barry could have a case of undiagnosed obsessive compulsive disorder. He spends up big and then has regrets – such as the passing of all those bills and then cutting down $100 million. That is just like the swings of OCD.
3. Knowledge of American and world history – fail. He does not even come close to understanding history. His view is distorted at best.
I will continue to make my observations, for I see so many parallels between OBummer and King Kevin Krudd, as though they could be brothers (ROFL – sarcasm of course)
This persistent paranoia about Ayers and Wright is a winning angle for the wingnuts. Being biracial puts a lot of pressure on a young man, especially in all white or black environments. It’s hard to have expectations of behavior of which you know nothing about. When you get called all types of names because you are different, you search for people in which you can identify. This is where Reverend Wright comes in. He was a very light skinned man who probably shared the same experiences with both blacks and whites as Obama. Not being raised in any religion prior to this church, How is he supposed to know that the message taught in Reverend Wrights church is contrary to that which is taught in the majority of Christian Churches? Here is a man, dying to find out about a culture he knows nothing about, so he was bound to make mistakes.
Having said that, I am also pretty sure that aspects of Reverend Wrights sermons probably made him feel uncomfortable. Yet, connections were important. Did you expect him to play pollyanna and expect him to not “play the game” for his political ambitions?
Bill Ayers, well look to his mother who was somewhat of a Hippy and probably a tad radical. Obama is a flower child. Do you honestly think that he wouldn’t have a slight amount of admiration for Bill Ayers and his wife?
Stop looking at color and making assumptions based on what you would like to project from your own internal bias. If he is a radical, then it is probably due to the influence of his mother, college, and searching for his identity. It has nothing to do with “anger” for “his people.” He’s definitely not angry for you. His people are the “typical” midwestern white family, he came from.
