Ten Reasons Why McCain Doesn’t Have a Prayer
9. The Magic Number
It takes 270 electoral votes to win the presidency. Most of the pollsters keep a running total of the states that are “solid” or “strong” for each candidate, as well as “leaners.” As it stands right now, Barack Obama has the luxury of having several different avenues to victory by having locked up — by the reckoning of most pollsters — 260-280 electoral votes in the “solid” or “strong” category. The criteria varies, but for the most part it means that Obama has more than a 15-point lead in those states in his column. McCain, on the other hand, is given between 170 and 180 solid electoral votes.
For McCain to win, he is going to have to take almost all the remaining “leaners” or toss ups. His margin for error is extraordinarily slim. He must come back from deficits in several states — a daunting task considering his limited resources and the fact that he is running out of time. McCain has perhaps two or three realistic scenarios where he can reach 270, while Obama might have a dozen.
For McCain to win, almost everything would have to break his way on election night.
8. Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania
If Obama wins any one of those states, it is virtually over for McCain. He might get by with losing one of those contests if he could hold on to Virginia and Colorado — two states Bush carried handily in 2004. But McCain trails in Colorado by as much as 9 points with the aggregate of all polls making it about a 7-point deficit. Virginia is no better. He doesn’t have the resources or time to make a maximum effort in both states so the chances are big that he will lose at least one of them.
This makes Pennsylvania vital for his campaign. There has been some movement toward the Republican in the last few days, cutting a double-digit lead down to 7-9 points thanks apparently to Sarah Palin’s efforts in wooing conservative Democrats. But Obama has been pouring money and resources into the state, and it will be a very tough road for McCain to find a victory there.
7. Red State Trouble
It is a political axiom that if you are spending money and resources trying to lock up your base a week before the election, you are in big trouble. Barack Obama is within 4 points in Georgia and 2 points in Indiana and North Carolina. Those three states went for George Bush by more than 12 points in 2004 and should have been safely in McCain’s electoral column by now. The fact that they’re not says volumes about how Obama has altered the political landscape.
It is also close in Montana, North Dakota, and even McCain’s home state of Arizona — all now considered toss up states by the pollsters. An Obama wave could pick off one or two of those states making McCain’s job impossible.
6. Money, Money, Money
When all is said and done, Barack Obama will have spent $40 million in Florida to win that state. John McCain began the campaign with $86 million in federal financing. If anything highlights John McCain’s uphill struggle, it is the discrepancy in campaign funds to spend on ads and infrastructure. Obama is outspending McCain 4-1 or more in every state.
In the end, it will almost certainly make the difference.
5. “That woman”
The media has done an outstanding job in savaging Sarah Palin. There were so many rumors, lies, and innuendo published in the media about Palin that PJM’s Charlie Martin gathered them together in one place just to see how truly amazing the media’s sliming of Palin has been. Charlie’s catalogued 84, and counting.
However, that’s water under the bridge at this point. And the fact is, that the smears have worked; every poll taken on the subject shows that Palin may have rallied the Republican base and got it energized, but she has killed McCain among independents and white women — two demographic groups McCain must have to win.
Recent polling has McCain coming back slightly among independents. But he still trails Obama by double digits among indies in most polls which does not bode well for his chances.
4. Favorable/Unfavorable
Until the financial meltdown, John McCain was fairly even with Obama as far as his favorability ratings are concerned. Politicians pay attention to this factor because it is a good indicator of a candidate’s strength. Today, McCain’s favorable rating is around +8 — that is, 8% more voters have a favorable opinion of him than unfavorable. This is considered weak but not a negative.
Obama on the other hand has an average of +21 in his favorability rating — an extremely strong indication that his voters are committed and that even those disposed not to vote for him like him.
3. The oddsmakers
If you’re a degenerate gambler like me, you know this race has been over for a month. Here are the current odds:
At the bookmaker the odds on Barack Obama to win in November are now sitting at -900 and John McCain is an unbelievable underdog with odds at +600! If you don’t know how odds work, here is a quick explanation — the odds on McCain at +155 last month meant that bettors will win $155 for every $100 they risk; the odds today on McCain at +600 mean that now people stand to win $600 for every $100 they risk; or the odds on McCain are now almost 4 times worse than a month ago, despite the shrinking of Barack Obama’s lead, according to the major polls.
If you want to wager on Obama, a $900 bet will win you $100 if he wins the election.
It’s not just the bookies: Intrade, the online market, has Obama with an 85% chance of winning.
Now these guys are not in the business of losing their shirts. This is as close to a lock that you will find in the betting world. With odds like that, McCain would have to pull off the most spectacular upset in the history of American politics — far beyond Truman’s surprise in 1948.
2. It’s the economy, stupid.
The financial meltdown and bailout have hurt McCain severely. And in many parts of the country, businesses are closing their doors and laying off workers. We may not officially be in a recession, but in some regions of the country where McCain must do well to win the election the economy is tanking. Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida (where the subprime mortgage bust has turned many neighborhoods into ghost towns) are all hurting disproportionately to the rest of the country.
And people are blaming Bush, the Republicans, and by extension John McCain.
1. Anger management
The American people are angry, frightened, and worried about the future. Rightly or wrongly, fairly or unfairly, they are blaming Republicans for this mess and appear ready to give the Democrats not only the presidency, but an increased margin in the House and a possible filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. Obama is offering hope and optimism — the two powerful elixirs in American politics. The electoral map is heavily favoring his candidacy and John McCain is behind, out of time, and could be out of luck.

Very good arguments. I ain’t buyin’. These polls are simply flawed, because of the nature of this very special election. Fact is pollsters don’t have a good baseline for this election, and admit it. That’s why they’re all over the place. Going with the big boys and traditional models, this race is about +3% Obama, and heading McCain’s way.
Rasmussen’s latest poll has a trump card in it for McCain: He is now favored for handling the economy! That’s doom for Obama. People are finally catching onto the socialist meme. McCain has finally succeeded in defining Obama. McCain=Bush is fading. That’s the game right there.
After the shambles of the Obo ‘infomercial’I think John McCain has a better than even chance.
What an infomercial is;
An long drawn out advert of little real substance trying very hard to sell you a third rate product that all the big stores etc have refused to sell as it is usually low grade, very poor quality, badly put together, offering something you really don’t want at a highly inflated price. They realise if you saw the product close up, you would come to a very smart decision NOT to buy what was on offer.
And should what you saw on TV tempt you and you passed over your hard-earned cash,a few days latter the trashy product would arrive and you would know at once you have been sold a piece of junk.Probably it will arrive broken and un-usable anyway. It will not do what the TV commercial claimed and quickly you will realise that its the worst decision you have ever made in your life.
No problem! They said there was a money back offer. So you go for that option only to find that it is not that easy to get rid of the piece of junk you have just bought and get your money back. Its too late, you bought, you have to suffer it. Maybe in FOUR YEARS you might be able to get something back, but you will already be so much poorer anyway.
There is a serious lesson to be learnt here. Don’t buy anything that looks too glitzy and flashy on a TV ifomercial, because they are going to send you down the river.
Stick with the proven product that you know won’t let you down!
I’ve never been impressed by defeatists.
Rich Moran seems far more surrender monkey than John Paul Jones and adds about as much value to the team as did Bill Paxton in ‘Aliens’ with his classic ‘We’re F****d! Game Over, Man!’ line.
But I’d have Jennifer Rubin on my team any day – to slap some backbone into any wimpy worthless defeatists that did happen to show up.
Cold water shock!!
Reality check at PajamasMedia. I wasn’t expecting that!
Hey, a prayer may be all McCain has.
But it may be enough. Who knows what divine providence has planned for the USA?
What I have noticed is that it is mostly, almost exclusively, the MSM that, with their pseudo polls with skewing and slanting, have been suggesting that Barack Obama might win.
However, much to the contrary, and given that of the 12% Blacks in America — an estimated less than 5% will vote for Obama (less than 14 million Black adult voters in a country of more than 305 million!) — McCain has a better than most chance to win big time on next Tuesday.
Over the last several months, we have learned that Obama is a radical, repugnant, and incessant liar. Obama is a thug much like the many, many “friends” and “mentors” he hangs with — Rezko, Farrakhan, Rev. Wright, Khalidi, communist Frank Marshall David and others. Now we learn that Obama is definitively a socialist and extremist leftist. Obama gets upset when TV hosts point this out — why? — because it’s the truth. Barack Hussein Obama is a loser.
The tens of millions, and more, voters that have learned the ugly truths about Barack Obama are NOT going to vote for him. They will defeat Obama.

The best hope we have for our economy, our military, our health, and our freedom is to vote for John McCain — honorable, with integrity, and a true patriot.
God Bless America.
This isn’t necessarily bad news for conservatives. Short term pain for long term gain
The economy is in crisis and whoever is elected president will likely a one-term president. The times are very similar to the late 1970s in terms of oil, middle east conflict, and global markets. Things are likely to get worse into 2009 and beyond.
Jimmy Carter was ineffective. That paved the way for Ronald Reagan to sweep onto the scene. Had Carter not been elected… no Reagan revolution.
If McCain is elected, he is likely to look ineffectual, simply due to the times. That opens the door for Hillary in 2012. And she will have a full head of steam. By then, people really will be sick of the republican party. A vote for Obama now shuts the door on Hillary in 2012 and pretty much guarantees the strengthening of the republican party and a return to its more conservative base.
True conservatives need to think about the long game. Sacrifice the next four years, which will be crap for whomever leads, and set the stage for the real conservative rise in 2012. Obama is the new Jimmy, and for that we should all be thankful.
If he doesn’t have a prayer, then every poll should be showing, and should have been showing an Obomber 57 state LANDSLIDE for weeks. The fact is, even with the corrupt media and pollsters, it’s a dead heat with 5 days to go.
Rasmussen just released their poll this morning showing McCain now leading on whom voters trust to handle the economy and taxes (not to mention all other issues). And this is the single issue that is supposed to doom any candidate from the incumbent party during an economic down-turn.
This article is a waste of pixels. Ignore and GO OUT AND VOTE REPUBLICAN DOWN THE LINE.
The IBD/TIPP poll has only a 3 pt dif this AM. Don’t count Mac out just yet. Hopefully, the presidency can’t be bought after all.

“Again, electing a Democratic president is not bad. But it has nothing to do with giving ultimate power to a smooth talker with a mile-long list of radical, racist, socialist and terrorist ties and proven record of supporting most radical changes in our society. This is not how democracies work. This is how they fail.
This year, on November 4th it’s not just another presidency that is at stake. It’s the future of our nation.
Read. Think. Vote. It’s our country we’re talking about.”
AdrianS wrote: “Over the last several months, we have learned that Obama is a radical, repugnant, and incessant liar.”
No. What we have really learned (well, if you didn’t know already) is that right wingers are massive hypocrites who really do have no ethics and morals when it comes to politics, and think nothing of just casually pulling stuff out of their collective butts to fling at people and ideas they don’t like or, more the case, don’t understand. Do you really think God or anyone else will bless a country run by people like that?
You know, Rick – I would normally agree with you, but you and many other political folks are completely dismissing the PUMA factor. Yes, laugh, scoff, dismiss. Just like the rest of the alphabets. I was in the caucus state of Texas. I saw first hand the third world thuggery the obama scum threw out. So did a lot of other Democrats. I have family members in several other states, all democrats. None of us are voting for the thug obama. Are we still registered Democrat? I can’t speak for them all, but I am. Did I vote for obama? Hell, no. And this weekend, I am traveling to New Mexico to GOTV for McCain there. Oh, and my brother and his wife are traveling from New York to PA to GOTV there as well. Yes, I know – 3 people, what differenc will that make? It will make a BIG difference. One other thing- I am saddened and amazed at the lack of fight in so many of the conservative/right leaning pundits. Stop being such an eeyore – unless of course you really want obama to win (and are hedging your bets). To quote McCain – “stand up and fight!” In other words, get off the couch – you can have your pity party or your panic attack or whatever it is your fragile pysche needs LATER. There’s work to do. So, either stand up and be counted, or sit down and shut up!
just ask presidents Kerry and Gore
Hillary Dems will show out in force
Polling is way off
Americans will not elect an untested socialist
Pennsyl goes red, as does most of the bush states
Obama hasn’t closed the deal and won’t
Always remember to check the dates over which the polling data was obtained. They’re always a couple of days behind meaning the electorate, at the time of the snapshot, had not yet absorbed the last few days worth of campaign developments. So, when M/P adds new destructive memes to the conversation, the polls don’t show it until a few days later. Not the day after.
In other words, there is a lag between what’s going on in the real world and what the polls reflect.
The one thing McCain does have is a prayer. There is only one reason Obama is as strong as he currently is, and that’s the media protecting him and advocating for him. But even with that weight on his ankles McCain has, very imperfectly to be sure, fought his way back into contention.
The polls are so screwed up this year that their methodology has become a major story. Add to that the unknown dimension of voter fraud, though that will work for Obama.
But then, it might all be too much. At some point the arrogant overplays his hand and people grow suspicious or resentful.
I haven’t the foggiest what is going to happen next week. But after we’ve done our best, we do have a prayer. It’s in His hands.
I’ve asked various bloggers to help me to understand why people “supposedly” on our side, like Moran, write such things. Assuming for the sake of argument that he is correct, what does he hope to accomplish? Does he want to save us the gas money spent going to the polls? Does he want to be able to say after the election, “Gee, look at me! I called it! I’m sooooooo brilliant!” – thus hoping for a gig at the New York Times a la David Brooks? Is he secretly an Obama supporter and wants to help all he can by depressing McCain-Palin turnout? So far no one has provided me with an answer that makes any sense. May be he reads these comments and will explain to me himself. Maybe, he’ll admit to being an Obama lover.
I think this is teh most convincing argument
“At the bookmaker the odds on Barack Obama to win the November Elections are now sitting at -900 and John McCain is an unbelievable underdog with odds +600!

These bookies are no fools, when did the last one of these guys go out of business? (If only a few of them were on the board of directors of some major financial institutions
), but i digress…
If you really think that McCain will win, liquidate all your assets and stick them on a McCain win
betting $150,000 , will make you a millionaire by nov 5th, and you get a McCain presidency thrown in!
Now how many have the orbs to do that? not me for sure
Here is the thing about the polling… 90% of the life long Democrats I know who have been voting for over 30 years, didn’t vote for Reagan, have all voted McCain but refuse to tell anyone. So if you have an urn full of red balls and blue balls but the only blue balls who respond to the pollsters are the ones that are for Obama, and you have to make 10 blue ball calls to get that one who will speak to you, then a very very large portion of the blue base has not been secured.
Many of the union people, and the ethnic community who fled communist countries to come to America, and the older more mature adults who aren’t voting with their feelings but their heads, and who remember being replaced or passed over by Affirmative Action of the 70′s, are not sold that this Obama guy is going to keep capitalism alive and well. As much as they hate Bush, they hate socialism more.
So Rick, before you rule out the Year of the Rat effect, remember that Americans generally are good and thoughtful people who seem to see through empty promises.
I had a former friend who during the last election wanted, cried out loud to demand we kill the electoral college in selecting our Presidents.
Note how Karl Rove shows his map of this college counting…Obama way ahead!
Bottom line, McCain has a very uphill battle.
Too little, too late, it’s miracle time only. And miracles happen how often? Divine intervention?
Put your money where your mouth is! Make the bet, take the odds. The bookie wears new suits, not you fool!
I dunno Mr. Moran, I’m feeling pretty good this morning. I think that, just as the campaigns say, it really will come down to the wire. Vote McCain!
I think the stock market is a much more reliable gauge than these worthless polls that have shown to be wrong time and again, right up to and including election eve… to me, seeing the stock market tank over the last month in direct correlation to Obama’s seeming “lock” on the election, like the gambling assessment the author makes, is more of a reality check… this is what the real odds are, and the odds are definitely in favor of Obama. But, as Chris in Toronto correctly points out, there’s a lag even in those things… and the BIG thing I see that makes me think this election is still in play is this: never before has an unproven entity like Obama, with so many real bad characters in his bag of friends, with such a left-wing voting record, with so many unanswered questions about his past, with nothing but empty promises about hope and change that swing with whomever is in the audience at the time he is making his pitch, never has before has there been such a phoney or dangerous person been this close to the Presidency… and I gotta believe Americans haven’t quite gone that far off the deep end, yet… at least, pray to God, I hope not. Lets all get out and vote, and encourage everyone to do so. As Reagan did so well, let’s trust in the common sense of the American people, and not put so much faith in these polls and the institutions of influence that are being manipulated for power by those who seek it. God bless America.

As you are seriously delusional, you make an excellent point why Rubin belongs on your “Team”, but Rick Moran doesn’t.
*********************
The post-mortem on McCain will continue.
Moran’s list is a good one of some of the minor and major causes…
David Broder has a column today that lists a few more important “macro” reasons:
1. John McCain, after years of distrustful relations with other Republicans, never became the Leader of his Party. He was simply the nominee that won because he was captured by the enemy and suffered!, and because the conservatives and traditionalists split their vote 3-ways.
2. After he got the nomination, all he could do to “excite” them was give them a raw, red meat icon of the Religious Right – Palin. But the Party never rallied around him – there were too many McCain betrayals in the past to do that. And his red meat, Palin, may have endeared people that were going to hold their nose and vote for McCain anyways – but it appears it absolutely killed McCain with independents, libertarians, and women outside the Bible Belt.
3. Broder said that McCain had no overarching ideas..that all his decisions were not made in the context of any clear philosophy or vision, but tactically. And many of them changed by the week. The overall impression was of an impetuous, impulsive man lurching about – not of overall command of the situation, while being calm and reasoned about things. While Obama, the rookie, was coming off as level-headed and operating from a systemic vision and consistent policies.
4. McCain, it is general knowledge, appeared to run a very bad campaign – staff had no idea where he stood on many issues, were not consulted about him taking issues like Rev Wright off the table on impulse, or the Palin selection and use of her and state Republican groups. The state leaders said McCain’s staff was amateurish and blundering about with no significant effort to mesh their work with local Republicans.
5. McCain frequently appeared incoherent on issues or why Obama was not ready or why voters should have a case against him. As Broder said, when Joe the Plumber can make a good case against Obama in two sentences while McCain failed to in three debates – you are stuck with a candidate that lacks persuasive powers and an incisive mind.
6. Broder said McCain failed the leadership test of running large organizations. He failed to control & bankrupted his initial 2008 campaign. He only got back into it when his beloved media friends gave him a clean pass while working every negative possible about Romney in particular, but also Thompson, Huchabee, Rudy. Then he failed to come out with a steady message and work hard for months before the Convention while Obama and his people built a solid team at all levels and raised money and campaigned effectively. It showed in how erratic and unfocused McCain was at debates, but the true debacle was the financial market meltdowns. Every one in the Obama organization knew what Obama and Team Axlerod were doing and what their response was. But dismayed press and more importantly, Independents and Republicans (including McCain’s whole campaign staff) – had know idea what McCains policies were, or if he would change them on impulse the next day, after the next story or meeting.
The press justly saw this as McCain being very ineffective outside the “lone war hero”, maverick lone Senator – political arena. Can McCain effectively be an executive of a large organization? The answer appeared to them and many in the public to be “NO!” while they credited Obama with at least giving the appearance of a steady, collected leader whose people were all on the same page with him..
Rick has been down on this campaign for a very, very long time. See his website http://www.rightwingnuthouse.com
The part that was not included in his list of 10 is the extent of voter fraud in key swing states. if the race is, in fact, really close in those states, fraud will win the election of Obama.
There are cracks in the MSM with some things slipping out and Rick should have included a “but there will not have enough time to dramatically effect the race.”
And, of course, were it not for Palin, McCain would be down by maybe 40 points since I’ve never known ANY moderate or independent to knock on doors, stuff envelopes, donate money, man phone banks, or sometimes even go to the poll. Without Palin, McCain has no base except the jello of fellow Mavericks.
Credit where credit is due. If this were an APPRENTICE competition…it’s clear who would be sent off. The best run campaign usually wins. Sad to say: John your FIRED!
Wow someone on this site finally fessed up to reality! In four years when the race for the white house is back on you will say the same thing about McCain that Dems say about Kerry “How the hell did we ever think that guy could win”. As for all the delusional republicans thinking McCain is still going to win, well to them I say “grow up”. You lost because your ticket is a joke. They promoted fear and lies and ignorance. To move forward we need to reward intelligence, hard-work, over achieving and promote togetherness because our country isnt going back to lilly-white. So take your whooping and act like an adult. Its time for plumbers to go back to what they do best and it ain’t politics.
You’re wrong Rick.
Just like you were wrong about Iraq.
Just like you were wrong about the way to respond to Gore’s Nobel.
You of all people should know exactly how the polls you’re citing have been distorted. This is now becoming blatantly apparent as the results of REAL PEOPLE doing REAL VOTING are assessed.
You need to find a healthier way to get over these relentlessly disappointing Cubby seasons. They’ve been losers ALL of both our lives. And transference is an illness.
This race can’t be over. No way.
After 8 years of an extremely unpopular Bush Administration, with the MSM firmly in his pocket all year, with incredible amounts of money to spend on false advertising, with all the dirt flung at Sarah Palin by his “little helpers” AND with the Republicans being blamed for the economic collapse – yet… yet….. Obama is still only polling on average 6 points ahead of McCain??? Curious.
The media over here in Europe have done a great job of selling this presidential race as “good” (dems) versus “evil” (reps) so everyone assumes that it’ll be an Obama landslide. I keep telling anyone who will listen that the only people who matter are the US citizens who will be casting their vote and that maybe, just maybe, they will decide not to vote to let some celebrity politician with a dodgy background run their country.
An Obama presidency will be a great thing for every country in the world with one exception – the USA. Its enemies will be emboldened by him and its “friends” will ask for more hand-outs.
so rick gets his “I told you so out of the way ” whoopeee!!!!!!!!can anyone remember rick saying anything good about mccah i will keep my rose colored sunglasses on for a few more days mr. moran, if not simply out of disgust for the chavezcastrocommercial of obama’s last night
Again Pa will show Obama that the state cannot be BOUGHT!
He outspends McCain by 800 million! What a waste of money. Who cares if it is from foreigners?
This disgraceful man, who has ties to the most despicable people in the world, hides his life in sealed school, senate and birth records.
He has spoken disgracefully about America comparing it to Nazi’s while his campaign followers make Nazi-like propaganda films with little children singing his praises and his teen national guard troops. Farrakhan calls him the messiah. Black Panthers and Rev Wight love him.
He demeaned our troops as bombers of innocents and destroyers of villages while he pals around with an unrepentant domestic terrorists who bombed our country multiple times. Then gives him 150 million to waste on teaching political anarchy to chicago schools. Wow, no shock it failed to help those poor kids.
He promises large bonuses to those in low income jobs like to triple the EIC bonus from 5k to 15k. He raises SS and Medicare taxes on those making 100k but refunds those making 40k. I guess the working poor wont need that safety net.
He punishes small businesses with his tax plans and health care fines while he takes millions from the CEO’s of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac who destroyed our mortgage system for the money they give to Obama! Guess which industry lost thousands of jobs-finance and real estate!
He admits he was a cokehead, had poor grades in Occidental, attends a church that is comitted to Africa and will stand with the Muslims in his books which made him a multi millionaire. Just like us? I dont think so!
But he speaks so pretty and looks so calm and handsome with his $579K campaign wardrobe. But refuses to go to court to prove his citizenship and has the DNC fight for him.
Even his democratic endorsees have to backtrack on what they all said during the primary because they don’t think he is fit to lead. He dosen’t have one friend from his past to speak up for him.
Hope for the future is fine, action is better. Obama=no action ever! The “Present” Candidate!
Beg to differ Mr. Moran.
NOTHING Obama has proposed/promised should be accepted at face value.
When even the ASSOCIATED PRESS (!) takes a jaundiced view…
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20081030/D944H6R80.html
…you KNOW Obama has *P*R*O*B*L*E*M*S*…
By all odds Germany should have won WW11 but they did not! By all the odds McCain should never have come home from the Hanoi Hilton but he did. Never Never give up.
“Here is the thing about the polling… 90% of the life long Democrats I know who have been voting for over 30 years, didn’t vote for Reagan, have all voted McCain but refuse to tell anyone.”
Many non-racist whites are beginning to be wary of a Barack Obama presidency. They notice, for instance, that it was a black female bureaucrat who authorized the checks into Joe the Plumber’s background. Blacks seem to be above the law and rarely get severely punished for violating our campaign laws. At most, they might get a slap on the wrist. The real winner if Obama wins on Election Day will be the vile and disgusting David Duke. He will attract a number of whites fearful of Obama’s thugs. Race relations will be set back a minimum of thirty years in this country. There are already reports of whites purchasing more guns in Florida. It’s likely to get a lot worse.
“I’ve never been impressed by defeatists.”
Nor have I. I find “conservative” defeatists far more appalling than liberals as there’s a touch of arrogance to them, which is annoying and telling.
Moran makes a reasonable argument, but Rubin’s, to an objective person, is stronger.
Voting is Nov 4, so factually, the race is not over. And in an election that nearly 200 million people will vote in, only a few thousand — and NONE I know — have been polled.
I am also feeling good this morning. The race will be close, and an article titled like this simply demoralizes conservatives. Let the liberal media do that.
Im’ afraid the Electoral College will be in Obama’s favor. The popular vote may go to McCain. The “Bush Hater’s will have their day only later to realize they have elected the most dangerous man possible. Race relations will be set back a hundred years. No Im’ not a racist I support two kids in Tanzania who live in mud huts. Some of you “children” ought to try that for awhile. You moaners, you complainers, you havn’t seen anything yet!
It is going to be a close one and the outcome is yet to be decided. I have to agree that regardless of who wins, it will be a very rough time and will likely result in a one term presidency. The fact is that if Obama wins than there will be no stopping the Pelosi-Reid gang from inacting all kinds of crazy stuff. If McCain wins then the best we can hope for is a large amount of gridlock and compromise that will not serve the public. This is not a good time to have either of these guys in office, but McCain at least won’t rubber stamp the entire Pelosi-Reid agenda like Obama will. I say pray for this country and vote, but also remember the undercard and do what you can to fix this messed up Congress.
I am a Democrat and I am not voting for McSame,
I am voting for Sarah Palin. 4 more years baby!
So up yours,
Ten Reasons.
McCain does have a prayer! In fact, he’s got millions of Christian prayer warriors like myself who are daily praying for him to win. It ain’t over and God has the final say.
If Obama wins, there will be lots of bestsellers about how the biased MSM won it for this sham. The extent of media bias are too numerous to chronicle, but someone is recording everything. Just like after the Americans went into the Nazi concentration camps and saw all that horror. One by one, those GIs painstakingly recorded everything they saw. God knows the truth.
Great comments, Granny. My normally-liberal aunt from England called my mother in Arizona and all our relatives throughout the US (many being Democrats from upstate), and everyone she called are going MCCAIN!!!
At the end of the day, the arguments made in this article are based on what the polls are saying. Everyone loves a good poll when it favors their pet candidate. But polling to determine the outcome of an election is way more art than science, especially when it is so close and most of the pollsters are making assumptions about the youth and black voter turnout. Anyone want to have a look at the polling numbers Kerry was getting in 2004, even up to the end of October? Last time I checked, he wasn’t President, and it wasn’t even close.
#17 Sioux Lady:
Actually, secretly I’m a supporter of Elmer Fudd but don’t let that get around please. The Fudd conspiracy is alive and well and we will pull a shocker on election day.
To all: There are plenty of websites you can visit if you want “team” spin on the election. I assume you come here because of the differing views of the writers. Jennifer and I are both voting for McCain but we have different perspectives on the nuts and bolts of the race.
And how childish is it to not vote because of something Rick Moran writes? Or even be dispirited because of it? Any notion that I am urging people to vote for Obama or not vote at all is silly. And anyone were to stay at home because of what I write – that’s equally silly. We’re all adults here. We all have our own opinions about where the race is and disagreeing with me is fine.
But let’s maintain a little perspective. Writing that a candidate is probably going to lose is not the same as rooting for him to lose.
HEY RICK,
WHY BARACK OBAMA WILL NOT WIN
READ:There is palpable anxiety, even despair, among many Republicans and conservatives over the possibility that Barack Obama will be elected president this November. This anxiety is being fueled by the mainstream media’s fawning coverage of Obama’s every word, while shamelessly downplaying John McCain’s campaign; by public opinion polls that purport to show Obama “leading” the race over McCain; and by political commentators, on both sides of the aisle, who believe this is the Democrats’ “election to lose,” based on historical cycles, an uneven economy, high gas prices, continuing opposition to the Iraq War, and President Bush’s dismal approval ratings.
I don’t share this anxiety. For months now, I have been reassuring my right-leaning friends that Barack Obama will not be elected president. If I were a gambling man, I would buy lots of McCain stock on Intrade. Why am I so confident that John McCain is going to win the election? In short, because Barack Obama is not an acceptable choice to lead the country. Let me explain.
Link here: http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/08/why_barack_obama_will_not_win.html
Some of these posts are mentioning divine intervention for McCain as his only hope; the only divinity that would be bestowed upon him would be election rigging in Ohio or Florida–both of which have a higher probability than God intervening. By the way… the jury is still out on whether God is pulling for the Republicans or Democrats.
that is true, Mr. Moran. all the same – you are aren’t feeling a little optimistic? as Tony observed, honest observers see a tidal wave of support for obama: 98% black voters, almost all the media, all the entertainment (have you watched E! channel? the view? msnbc? SNL? bravo programs?), all anti-war, and this odd economic thing whereby if the economy collapses the democrats are supposed to be the defalt sensible party.
and yet obama leads only just outside the margin of error, and today he’s back within.
i don’t know. i’d sort of expect a race that was supposed to be so clearly already decided to show a poll landslide at this point.
who knows. obama still has the wind at his back. he could have 40 state landslide. and yet.
I prefer to wait until the clock runs out before I trot off the field, hanging my head. You quit months ago, and I have developed a disgust for your defeatism.
Reasons 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9 are all predicated on reason 10. Polling, polling, polling. You don’t have a g*ddamn clue how accurate they are, because this is an historic election. There are NO models that are tested or proven. Will that “excited democratic base” (blacks and college kids) really turn out on election day- they’ve promised to before and failed? What about Bob the Barber, that’s never voted before in his life, but will turn out to vote for McCain because he either doesn’t like socialists (and yes, I’ve read your dissertation on how Obama is not a socialist- what a load of crap), or he doesn’t like black people, or both.
So basically, you’re down to questionable polling, more money, and negatives on Palin (the economy is out- Obama negated his advantage when he told Joe that he wanted to redistribute the wealth- but of course their’s nothing socialist about that according to you). I don’t like any of those factors, but your 10 reason case has collapsed. I’ll wait until Tuesday evening, then I’ll send you an email- if you’re right, you can read my apology. If you’re wrong, I’ll gloat.
By the way, if you are right, your number 1 reason should have been gross media malfeasance.
Yeah!
Karl Rove also told us the Democrats would not take over Congress in 2006!
He missed that boat on that one also.
He is also missing the votes of 78,000,000 baby boomer’s who know about the Weathermen and what Bill Ayers wife was talking about when she stick ‘stick a fork in her.’
Karl needs to take a history refresher course,
he has been a Fox news adviser too long.
After “Get Real” at 26 tells McCain supporters to “grow up” he dumps this bombshell on us, “To move forward we need to reward intelligence, hard-work, over achieving and promote togetherness because our country isnt going back to lilly-white.”
And here’s a “get real” message to you: Raising taxes and forcefully “redistributing” producers’ earnings to non-producers is the last measure any government should make if it intends to reward “intelligence, hard work and over-achieving”. And the last measure any government should attempt to promote “togetherness” is to re-impose the disastrous and divisive Affirmative Action quota systems, which relegated racial minorities to the level of second class citizens. It is you who needs to grow up, as wherever and whenever Obama’s socialistic policies have been tried they have failed miserably. If you want what others have, either work for it or stand on the street corner and beg, as even begging is more dignified than stealing what others have worked for.
The Electoral College prevent this country from basically being about head counts. All 50 states are counted, all 50 states matter. A President has to represent all states, not just the big ones or the powerful ones.
I hope people who contributed $750 million-plus to the Chosen One’s campaign aren’t too upset if things go a different direction this Tuesday. In the end, maybe they could ask for their money to be…pardon the pun…redistributed back to them.
This isn’t about money. Ads mean nothing. People will vote their conscience. The problem is…this time around…the Democrats didn’t let the primary voters in Florida and Michigan to vote their conscience. Otherwise, there would be no discussion about the Chosen One’s associations with Weather Underground Leader William Ayers, Reverend Wright, Donvincted Chicago real estate magnate Tony Rezko, along with the Chosen One’s views on Socialism, Marxism, and what not.
History has a way of hitting back on those who are measuring the drapes prior to moving into office before the votes are counted. Just ask Misters Dewey, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Gore, Kerry, and Bush Sr to name a few.
Why not let us vote Rick..then let’s see who wins? You, and many others, may be surprised to see that lots of Democratic voters are rejecting this most liberal candidate. Anyone can print a map and make predictions…let the people vote and then you will see who what color the map is and who has more electoral votes…and that will be John McCain!!!
David Thomson: “Many non-racist whites are beginning to be wary of a Barack Obama presidency.”
Really? By non-racist, do you happen to mean rabidly racist?
Because the way I see it, anyone who would post on a public message board that “Blacks seem to be above the law” and that democratically electing a black president will embolden whites to take up arms against “Obama’s thugs” is a an out-an-out racist, ignorant, hatemongering mouth-breathing imbecile.
You folks need to understand that the world changed while you were crawling around under your rocks and printing white supremacists flyers in your basements. The stuff that used to fly back when you were burning crosses now only backfires in your face. Young people today do not hate minorities the way you do, and for the most part view you and your opinions as pathetic and sick.
When we see and hear people like you, it only makes us that much more confident in our votes for Obama. So thanks for providing me yet another reason to pull the lever for Obama next week.
Eeyore.
Rick,
Preaching defeat before an election that is still close is unacceptable. No one knows the future. The msm wants Senator Obama to win; they are trying to make us believe that it’s over. Why even bother to vote? Do you want to be more accepted by them? Is this why you are trying to help Senator Obama win?
Steve P. says “By non-racist, do you happen to mean rabidly racist?”
Sorry, Steve, but thats not good enough anymore. One of the biggest hurdles America faces in becoming “post-racial” is to get rid of idiots like you who scream “RACISM” when it doesn’t actually exist.
Post-racial means being able to discuss race issues openly and honestly and without meaningless acusations. You are part of the problem you moralising twit.
The problem with this analysis is that it assumes the accuracy of the polls. There is excellent reason this year to suspect that those sponsored by the MSM are purposely skewered to show Obama’s “inevitability” which is why he routinely ran behind his polls in the primaries. One ridiculous poll like PEW pollutes the RCP average for a week or better.I also find it odd that Obama would be spending time in a state like Iowa less than a week before the big day when the “polls” have him up 10 pts there. You should find it odd too
It’s funny how both sides in the US political debate constantly sling mud, employ dirty tricks and propaganda distortions against their opponents and then claim to be occupying the moral highground while the other side resides in the moral gutter. It’s even worse than here! (UK)
Maybe it’s a result of the two-party system, if there were a few more serious candidates for president and a few more parties in congress, there wouldn’t be enough time or money to mount attack campaigns against all of them so it might become more advantageous to actually promote what your policies are rather than going negative.
That’s my two pence anyway.
888: “If Obama wins, there will be lots of bestsellers about how the biased MSM won it for this sham. The extent of media bias are too numerous to chronicle, but someone is recording everything. Just like after the Americans went into the Nazi concentration camps and saw all that horror.”
Grrrreeeeaaaaat……now we’re seriously comparing the media coverage of the 2008 presidential election to the Holocaust, in which 8 million people were systematically and brutally slain in the name of a fascist right-wing ideology.
So how many millions of poor, defenseless conservatives died this year at the hands of the bloodthirsty liberal media?
Uhhh … none? Are you sure? Not even like ten?
And let’s just completely ignore the fact that a Bill Gwatney, chairman of the Arkansas Democratic Party, was ACTUALLY murdered in cold blood very recently by a crazy right wing nut job.
Thanks for proving once again that when it comes to hypocrisy, ignorance, two-faced-ness and complete raving lunacy, nobody does it better than the right wing!
Chris @ 48 states, “I hope people who contributed $750 million-plus to the Chosen One’s campaign aren’t too upset if things go a different direction this Tuesday.”
I doubt a considerable portion of them will be. That is because, regardless of the results of America’s presidential election, they will still be stuck in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Pakistan, the Gaza Strip or France when it’s all over.
Just another column by a grasping Romneybot desperate to see Barack Obama as Commander in Chief to our men and women in harm’s way so his man can “save the day” in 2012. Moran abandoned our troops years ago, now he wants to compound his treachery by electing Obama. Soon he’s going to start writing columns bashing Israel like his relatives.
Pathetic what passes for supposed patriotism in Northern Virginia these days. Whining defeatism has never been a popular American trait.
It never ceases to amaze me how delusional right-wingers are in the face of this horrendous and long overdue defeat. The country has had enough of your self-righteous BS. As Rick has pointed out, this is as close to a “lock” as it gets. The market guys have NEVER gotten it wrong!
So, y’all better just relax and figure out how you’re going to put lipstick on that pig Palin for 2012.
Buh-bye
Perspicacious commentary, Jonesy55! The two-party system of checks and balances is inherently flawed as is our electoral college.
Tony: “Sorry, Steve, but thats not good enough anymore. One of the biggest hurdles America faces in becoming “post-racial” is to get rid of idiots like you who scream “RACISM” when it doesn’t actually exist. Post-racial means being able to discuss race issues openly and honestly and without meaningless acusations. You are part of the problem you moralising twit.”
Sorry, Tony, but there’s nothing “post-racial” or “honest” about calling Obama’s supporters “thugs” or making veiled and unsubstantiated threats that an Obama
presidency will embolden white hate groups to arms. It is entirely racist to claim that we should not elect a black president because of some vague fear that violence will result, as if there would be peace in the valley if we were to just pick a white guy instead. But of course, if you had half a brain and even a modicum of an actual human conscience, you’d understand that yourself.
For any voters who cannot decide who to vote for, the Republicans like to make up lies about Obama, but they don’t want to tell the truth about Palin and McCain. Take a look at these clips, this is the truth and it is fact, straight from the candidate’s mouths:
John McCain should drop out of the presidential race for these comments. He actually states that he does not agree with what the American people have to say:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-R5Vh5tOWk
Palin, well this short clip speaks for itself:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrzXLYA_e6E
McCain on issues
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=en0UsydYzSI
Billy @ 59 says, “The market guys have NEVER gotten it wrong!” And that is why the stock market is in the tank and will probably drop another 25% if Obama wins. Welfare programs, oppressive taxation and delusional foreign policy are bad for business. Ask anyone who remembers the Carter years.
“The country has had enough of your self-righteous BS.”
Ha! Whose self-righteous BS? The same country that voted for Bush, twice? Do you even listen to yourselves?
Um Steve P.,
I would consider myself a relatively young person (24) and you’re right I don’t hate minorities – but I still won’t be voting for Obama. Why is the race card the the pink elephant in the room for Democrats until it’s convenient for you to talk about it? Out of 50 or so comments on this board you chose the one that could have been construed in a negatively “racist” way…why don’t you have anything to say about about the rest of the legitimate arguments made here? Not every Republican can be painted with the same brush like I’m sure not every Democrat can be, to assume so is childish. It would be just as easy to find a prejudiced Democrat as it would be to find a prejudiced Republican – ask any Democrat over the age of 70 how they feel about a black president and I’m sure you’d be suprised with the answers they gave you, I have been and I’ve talked to quite a few lately. Your overgeneralizations portray your ignorance of the legitimate issues that don’t have the token words of “hope” and “change” attached.
Steve P.
typical racist. Listen son, I am a Latino male, born in Caracas, Venezuela. I have lived through this type of election before, Hugo Chavez in 1998. YOU and your Obamabots ARE the racist. I know your kind, I know how much hate you harbor for your fellow man that doesn’t agree with you. I have been called a house ni…er, an Uncle Tom, and other racist slurs by who? Supposed benevolent, open minded, non-racist blacks and hispanics.
The Dumbcrat party is nothing but a party made up of racist, elites, step on your throat thugs like Obama. The man is an embarrassment to humanity. Maybe you can name all the legislative accomplishments that prove that he would be great leader. Oh wait…he sold you the snake oil of Hope and Change, eh?
Never did I believe that Americans would be so easily fooled by a demagogue like Obama. The scary part is that his message, the racial divide that he and his supporter are pushing are EXACTLY the same message that Hugo Chavez pushed in 1998 to be legally elected.
Obama is NOTHING new, he is just another “promise anything and everythign under the sun” politician to get elected.
Steve P. you have been hoodwinked and bamboozled by a used car salesman, actually worst by a lawyer.
Obama might win, there is no doubt about that, but man will Americans regret their vote rather soon just like Venezuelans regret every elected Hugo Chavez to the Presidency.
It just amazes me how Americans can be so easily fooled by the media and Obama. Pathetic, truly pathetic. I pity Obamabots like you Steve, how you will cry when you find out that Obama is none of the things he has promised he is.
and go for it, call me a racist, etc, etc, etc. Fools like you have been brainwashed to believe the Republican party and the Conservative movement is made up of only white Christian males. My whole family, brother, sisters, cousins, spouse, children, etc, etc, etc who are ALL Hispanic will be voting for John McCAin!
Obama doesn’t represent me, in fact no Dumbcrat minority represents me or my values. The Dumbcrat party disgusts me.
As for Rick Moran’s piece, I am sick and tired of the defeatist attitude of the right. Rick, if you want to cry and whine about McCain losing, do it on your own private time. This is NOT the time to despair, this is not the time to lose hope. This is the time to fight all the smear back, this is the time to get everyone exited about voting for John McCain. Was he my favorite candidate, not even close. But McCain has something that Obama does not. McCain loves this country, he puts country before politics. McCain is a man, a man tested in battle, tested by torture.
I know the Obama kind. They went through college angry at anyone and everyone that wasn’t like them. As Obama even admits, the poor idiot was ashamed of admitting he was half white. I know the Obama kind. They hate anyone that doesn’t look, think or act like them. Just look at Michelle Obama’s anger, Rev. Wright’s anger, do you mean to tell me that this anger is not within Obama? that he sat for 20 years at the pews of Rev. Wright’s church and he didn’t agree with Rev. Wright’s view of America? please.
Lastly, while this is anecdotal, I will tell you this. I have friends who were very pro-Hillary. They have been constantly polled by Obama people, Gallup, etc. They are voting McCain, but guess what they are telling the pollesters, that they are voting Obama. It might not make that huge of a difference, but from my understanding there is a huge movement out there of Hillary supporters who are voting McCain and are purposedly lying to polls to throw pollesters and Obama off.
So, stop counting McCain off yet, come Wednesday and McCain lost, than write you crying piece. Then throw him under the bus like all Republicans are going to do in order to save their hive. Until then, just shut up with your doom and gloom. Whatever happened to us Conservatives not being the movement of glood and doom? Does this only happen when we are winning elections?
Rick Moran, you as well as Peggy and others in the Republican movement are proving to be the true Rhinos, not McCain.
I’m really torn about this election. As a leftist I would like to see Obama wipe the floor with McCain, but as a Canadian I see that McCain’s election is in my country’s best interests.
I too am worried about Congress, the Senate, and the White House all being represented by the same party. The last time that happened it was a disaster for the US and the rest of the world.
But I would have to be offered lottery-sized odds before I would bet a nickel on John McCain winning the presidency. Perhaps it’s time for the Republicans to throw in the towel and work to defeat President Obama in 2012.
Palin-Plummer 2012.
McCain has lost this election for one reason and one reason only: His choice of Sarah Palin as his running-mate. End of story. You cannot fool all of the people all of the time.
Barack Obama’s aunt was found living in a “rundown” Boston home.
While he was a U.S. Senator and his wife was a high paid hospital administrator making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, while he was busy raising more than half-a-billion dollars for his campaign, Barack Obama’s aunt was living in a Boston slum. No this isn’t a long lost half-brother he barely knew living halfway across the globe. This is a woman he spoke glowingly about in one of his books.
The most damning part of the story is this (emphasis added):
Speaking outside her home in Flaherty Way, South Boston, on Tuesday, Ms Onyango, 56, confirmed she was the “Auntie Zeituni” in Mr Obama’s memoir. She declined to answer most other questions about her relationship with the presidential contender until after the November 4 election. “I can’t talk about it, I just pray for him, that’s all,” she said, adding: “After the 4th, I can talk to anyone.”
His campaign obviously found her. It shouldn’t have been hard, in spite of being an apparent illegal immigrant, she and her husband have been cited in several newspapers over the years. But once they found her, rather than help her, the Obama campaign shut her up.
Spread the wealth indeed.
http://www.bobkrumm.com/blog/?p=2041
as long as we’re posting information about the candidates and all.
Folks, Rick is just trying to counter too much happy talk. The facts are that McCain has an uphill climb. Impossible? No.
The thing that gives me heart is that despite The One spending so much, he still is not ahead by a wide margin. If this election were “over” he should be galloping away, especially with the resources he’s expended. But he’s not.
The reason that he’s not is that this is a center right country. The most broadly agreed upon principle in American political life is that you need to work for what you get in this country. Spreading the wealth is not acceptable to the vast majority of Americans and that is why King Barack is not going to win.
Steve P. said, “Sorry, Tony, but there’s nothing “post-racial” or “honest” about calling Obama’s supporters “thugs” or making veiled and unsubstantiated threats that an Obama
presidency will embolden white hate groups to arms. But of course, if you had half a brain and even a modicum of an actual human conscience, you’d understand that yourself.”
Oh and your hate continues Steve P. Do you not realize that it is you the one full of hate here? are you so blind to your hate?
What you do not get is that Obama, whether he was white or black….oh wait, he IS black AND white, would cause a greater racial divide. NOt because of the color of his skin, stop obssesing with Obama’s color, but because of his radical policies that he plans to implement. His class warfare policies, etc, etc.
Have you been so brainwashed that you can only see Obama as being a black man? Who cares what color Obama’s skin is. Biden a white man, would also create a greater racial divide in America. In fact the Dumbcratic party, made up of mostly whites (despite of what they have sold you Steve) is the one causing the greatest class and racial divide in America.
Get pass the color of someone’s skin and start talking about their policies. It is Obama’s AND Biden’s policies that will create greater racial and class divide, not the color of their skin.
Can you do that Steve P., can you get past Obama’s skin color?
JohnRJ08: If you indeed can’t fool even a majority of the people until November 5th, Obama is toast
JohnRJ08,
I am sick and tired of people piling on John McCain for pikcing Sarah Palin. How dumb can you people be?
The only support McCain had before he chose his VP was that of blue dog Democrats and Rhinos, not from the Republican party. There was no exitment for McCain’s candidacy. Then, he picked Sarah Palin and the exitment for his campaign went blew the roof of the Republican party house!!!!
That the media has done everything with in its power to destroy Sarah Palin is something else. That too many establishment Republicans and Rhinos hate her as much as the Obamathugs hate here is something else. The best thing McCain did for himself was pick Palin. If he hadn’t, this election woudl truly have been over months ago!
get a clue people, honestly. Stop listening to the elites Republican and Democrat establishment and for goondess sake stop soaking in as gospel everything the media tells you. I have never seen such a country where the media speaks and its citizens believe the media’s word as if it was God’s word. pathetic, embarrassing, truly sad!
funky chicken,
Didn’t you know. Dumbcrats are about spreading yours and my wealth, not theirs.
Obama spent 6 million dollars last night in his pathetic and quite poorly done informercial. Hmmm….if he truly cared about the poor, the uninsured, etc, etc, etc why didn’t he give that money to the poor, to the uninsured? nope, he much rather have power, power and then some more power than help the poor.
For goodness sake, this man has amassed 605 million dolloars in campaign contributions. Will he donate the money he doesn’t use in the campaign to the poor, to the uninsured? don’t hold your breath.
Remember, politicians like Obama are all about, do as I say, not as I do.
FYI I could get this doom and gloom crap from ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, Cspan, the majority of papers in America and every fricking left pundit in the country.
Is this really a post that needed to be made ? Shall we make this election cycle worse ? What would you say if you, on a conservative site, managed to convince even a couple of voters that voting was pointless, given the “reality” of the blue/red state problem.
Bad column- I can safely say I’ll say away from MOran in the future.
Jillian: Your candidate is going lose this election because he showed terrible judgment by choosing a running-mate for political reasons rather than for her familiarity with national and international issues. He chose an ambitious pretender and ideologue who is only good at one thing: polarizing the country. He will also lose because he has run one of the most despicable attack campaigns since Tail-gunner Joe ran for the U.S. senate in the 1950′s.
Whoa! CJ…take it easy man. Your paranoia is showing. Yeah, we know, everyone being polled is lying. C’mon…
give it a rest. The Republican party will go down to a huge and historic defeat Tuesday due mainly to it’s own
incompetence. Billy @59 has it right…you folks are downright delusional. McCain had a chance way back when he hadn’t completely sold out to the right-wing who have hijacked the Republican party. He made his pact with the devil to appease them…now he’ll pay. Palin is even more aggressively stupid and unprepared than Quayle was and as John RJ08 @ 68 has pointed out, she is the reason he will lose. The difference for Bush 41 (as Rick mentioned) was that he was strong enough and actually had a campaign strategy that could overcome his lousy pick. McCain tried to run the Rove route to the White House without the $$, the organization or Rove. What a disaster he has presided over.
It will beat least five election cycles before the GOP can rebound to anything close to 1994.
I took Right Wing Nuthouse off my blogroll when Rick Moran/Eeyore started this stuff months ago.
November 5 is gonna be a great day.
McCain/Palin ’08
What a bunch of narrow minded ,un educated biggots you have around here.hope all of you will commit sucide on tuesday, because the real smart americans have already made up thier minds and they out number you guys 5 to 1,rest in peace mccsame.
PEZ –
Why would I go out and bet all my hard earned money on ANY candidate – just to resdistribute my wealth to dishonest gambling ring leaders…..no that sounds like something the Democrats want to do in the next presidency…..no interest. I will exercise my right to vote and encourage all those around me – which is what hard working morally sound people should do!
#58 Chicken:
I live in Streator, IL – as close to my beloved heartland as I can get – almost in the middle of middle America.
And leave my family out of it please.
Karl Rove even predicts Obama has it already!
Buzz,
You see, you are the easily fooled, easily brainwashed fools that I am talking about.
Amazing how according to the media, Liberals and Democrats they have called stupid all the Republican candidates since Ike. yeap, did you know that? The Demoncratic party claimed that General Eisenhower was a buffoon that should not be elected, much like they attack Reagan, Bush, Quayle, Palin, etc.
How can people like you be so easily fooled by the media and the Dumbcratic party?
by the way, no where have I said that McCain will win or lose. Before you attack me, make sure that your silence the voices in your head, kid.
thanks for playing though. and thanks for proving me right.
katy beth of texas as I am, has it right!!!!! what’s the deal with these republicans just giving up, and such defeatist attitudes, I do not agree with this article at all, IT AIN’T OVER TILL ITS OVER!!!, as one other person said here its up to prayer and as I remember my husband of 50 years old was told he had one year to live with prostate cancer that was just diagnosed, went to three doctors, all said about the same thing, I told each one of them, you don’t really know that for sure, there is only one person who knows that for sure and HE will determine how long, and my husband lived six years, his doctor at the time would always say I had DIVINE INTERVENTION, he was a miracle, I learned that only GOD can change things, and HE can do it. you would be amazed at the power of prayer, miracles do happen, and I will not give up and certainly not go out and vote, this is the most important vote of my life, obama really does scare me, this adoration of him by millions is something I have never seen. and we know nothing about this man, nothing!!!! and what we do know is not very good. so to write something like this to me just supresses the vote, you sound like the MSM, trying to get people to GIVE UP, I also believe that we are not counting the democrats that just cannot stand obama, and hate what happen to hillary, I really feel that they say they are going to vote for obama, but when they get in there will vote for mccain, more then you think. I even think bill clinton and hillary will secretly vote for mccain, how would you feel after all she went thru and how they wanted her out even tho she was winning more votes. so everyone please PRAY!!!!! REMEMBER BUSH WAS LOSING UP UNTIL LATE LATE ELECTION NIGHT LAST TIME.
Thank goodness McCain isn’t as defeatist as you are, Mr. Moran. You are buying into the MSM’s message, and that’s exactly what “they” want you to do. Are you going to sit home on November 4th because you think McCain/Palin is a lost cause? If so, the MSM has won. They’ve got you eating out of the palm of their hand, and you’re the victim, not McCain. Those of us who want our voices to be hear, we will vote and we will be heard until the very last vote is counted. So, you go ahead and give up. The rest of us will stand up!
evans joesephe said, “What a bunch of narrow minded ,un educated biggots you have around here.hope all of you will commit sucide on tuesday, because the real smart americans have already made up thier minds and they out number you guys 5 to 1,rest in peace mccsame.”
And this is the love and compassion that the left loves to show to anyone that has opposing views. How truly sad? Liberals open minded? Liberals compassionate? Only a buffoon would believe that.
by the way, if McCain does lose, so be it. We Conservative are not the idiotic Liberals who will need to line up to see shrinks like Liberals did in 2000, 2002 and 2004 when their party could not win an election.
You sound like the typical young and dumb brainwashed child of the left.
OK CJ…I’m just a “fool”…and at 60, no doubt older than you, “kid”. I just know what I see…it takes about 30 seconds of watching Palin read a speech to figure out she doesn’t have a clue what’s in the script she’s a- mouthin’. She is vacuous (look it up CJ) and unable to express a coherent thought when interviewed…only unlike Quayle, who had a sort of genuine likability about him…she is smarmy, self-righteous and condescending . Arrogance and ignorance…a perfect combination for a politician (we have just lived through 8 years of it)…or maybe for a blog commenter eh?
Sandra may be right…the only way McCain will be elected is through some sort of Divine Intervention…good luck with that one.
McCain does not have a prayer? It is not over until the fat lady sings! As an american living in Europe, I can tell you that all european governments already have typed the congratulations letter to Obama. But they seem to forget that we americans decide who our president will be and have the key to this election not Europe or the world for that matter. I have faith in McCain until the end. This election is so important because for the first time in US history we americans have a chance to stop this socialist/MSM’s candidate who is definitely not telling the truth. His past associations tells us what kind of man he really is. (You are the company you keep) Wake up america, it is definitely not too late. Never give up, never surrender. McCain/Palin 08
You go, CJ! Welcome to the U.S., I am glad you are here. We need your strength, your experience, and your clear thinking. Thank you for your contributions–together we can rebuild this country. (You’re right, we have been, and are being, brainwashed. But it’s possible to wake up!)
McCain worst enemy is himself. I supported McCain in 2000, when he avoided negative attacks and was the embodiment of honesty and integrity. Traits rarely associated with career politicians of any stripe. This time around he has been a spiteful, bitter old man willing to sell his honor, values, integrity and soul for victory. His choice of Palin confirms that integrity is an asset he no longer possesses. It was a cynical attempt to manipulate the electorate. Between the two of them they have run one of the most divisive and mean spirited campaigns in history. Considering who they are trying to replace I think this really says something about the character of the Republican candidates.
For me this campaign has not been about Obama being an unknown commodity, it has been about learning what kind of product McCain/Palin are. I have not been drawn to Obama as much as I have been driven away by McCain.
McCain/Palin have been malicious, petty, untruthful, spiteful, nasty, narrow minded and down right un-American. I can’t vote for that but I can vote against it!
P.S. If Palin is the future of the party then I believe the party has no future.
Sarah: “Why is the race card the the pink elephant in the room for Democrats until it’s convenient for you to talk about it? Out of 50 or so comments on this board you chose the one that could have been construed in a negatively “racist” way…why don’t you have anything to say about about the rest of the legitimate arguments made here?
You mean like this legitimate argument?
“The scary part is that his message, the racial divide that he and his supporter are pushing are EXACTLY the same message that Hugo Chavez pushed in 1998 to be legally elected.”
or how about this one?
“He has spoken disgracefully about America comparing it to Nazi’s while his campaign followers make Nazi-like propaganda films with little children singing his praises and his teen national guard troops.”
Or how about this gem:
“The “Bush Hater’s will have their day only later to realize they have elected the most dangerous man possible. Race relations will be set back a hundred years. No Im’ not a racist I support two kids in Tanzania who live in mud huts.”
or this one:
“Over the last several months, we have learned that Obama is a radical, repugnant, and incessant liar. Obama is a thug…”
I could go on.
Sarah, you are entirely correct – not every Republican can be painted with the same brush. But the ones who choose to brush themselves with broad strokes of ignorance and fear mongering, and there seems to be no shortage of them on this board, deserve to be called out and challenged, just as I would expect the crazies on the Daily Kos and others to be challenged for their equally radical views.
You wrote that “Your overgeneralizations portray your ignorance of the legitimate issues that don’t have the token words of “hope” and “change” attached.”
You mean legitimate issues like the economy, education and health care? That’s funny, I don’t see them being mentioned at all here, unless they are mentioned in the context of how Obama the socialist extremist will completely destroy them.
Furthermore, my overgeneralizations do not ‘portray’ my ignorance of the legitimate issues, they simply serve as a counterpoint to the ridiculous and shameful circus of anti-Obama ranting and raving lunacy that is far too common on this board.
I don’t find the bookmaker’s odds to be that persuasive. They simply indicate that a lot of bets are being placed on Obama, and hence the Obama odds are rising while the McCain odds are falling.
The media has been blaring about Obama’s inevitable victory for weeks, so this isn’t surprising. It’s more a reflection of the media landscape than the actual voting. If I had a bookie I would place a small bet on McCain for sure, he will probably lose but his chance of winning is certainly better than those odds, making it a good EV bet IMHO.
You should definitely have your own tv show cause you are insightful and bring a unique perspective. Thank you so much for all you do.
State polls lag. The recent good news in the national polls will be seen in the state polls soon. Also, if you look at the polling data, right up to the date of the elections, relating to the last five Republican victories, they ALL showed democrat leads. Enough said, really.
heh.
November 4th is going to be the functional equivalent of the Extinction Event at the K-T Boundary for the Republican Party.
Thats what you get when you don’t believe in evolution.
lol
You’ve GOT to check this site out:
http://www.ObamasPast.com
hi you. I believe in evolution and if Smuckers made stem cell jelly no toasts would be safe from me I promise you that.
I don’t put a damn bit of faith in the polls. The polls told us, MID-ELECTION DAY, that Kerry had won. Which is interesting since he’s not, in fact, the President. Last I heard, we had not had the election yet. But Obama has already won! How does that work again? Oh yeah, the media wants us to believe that its true, so desperately. Just like they wanted us to believe with Kerry (who I voted for) and Gore (who I voted for).
I fully expect Mccain to pull it out. There are enough people left with sense in this country. If he doesn’t, and Obama wins, well yes the country will go all republican in 4 years, hoorah, but the damage will take much longer than that to correct.
The only thing I’m praying for is a freakin’ landslide – for either candidate. The last thing we need is another four years of “they stole the election” and “he’s not my president.” Both parties are already priming themselves for this scenario – with Dems harping on racism and Republicans harping on voter fraud. This is real banana republic b.s. The way it eventually ends is, someone with a gun steps in and says “Yeah, I stole the election. What are you going to do about it.”
If John McCain wins this election it will be an empty victory because it was achieved with lies, half-truths, character assassination, and innuendo which was designed to appeal to the lowest common denominators in our electorate. He has made an outrageous spectacle of this election which all the world has been watching. The man should be ashamed. And, for all of your people who spend your time digging up the irrelevant fabrications about Obama’s past, prepare yourself for change.
Pfft feets, the republicans are so retarted.
McCain is losing because of demographic shifts in the genetic and memetic make up of voter demes.
What tightening there is in the national polls reflects more McCain votes in already red states; older, less integrated, less educated, more religious.
He needs to win electoral college votes in states that are going purple….that are demographically younger, more educated, and more integrated.
In 2020 caucasian will become a minority and timehonored republican tricks like racism and classism won’t work anymore at all for the GOP.
The old rovian ways are pretty much an epic fail in this election cycle already.
Nice to see you too, feets.
Always be.
Momof3,
Sure, you bet…once again, ALL of the polls are incorrect. Delusional. Only a handful of polls had Kerry winning in 04…and only by a slim margin at that. You honestly expect us to believe you voted for Gore and Kerry and now support McCain/Palin??? Did you have a lobotomy in the last 4 years?
I miss Tim Russert so much. He would get to every nook and cranny and leave no stone unturned.I truly believe he would be appalled by how the media decides what to cover up and not put out there for the American people to really make a real choice. This country no longer cares about character. The people that run our government are so money hungry and selfish. They work for their own needs not the American People. Cast your ballot to vote out the old and skip the President vote. It won’t matter anyway. With what is already there it just won’t matter. Tim I miss you!!!
Karl Rove, like Rick Moran was 100% in the tank for Mitt Romney. Romney himself may be a good guy, but he and Ron Paul seem to have spit the nasty faction of the republican party right down the middle in terms of supporters.
people who really would rather lose wars overseas than see John McCain and Sarah Palin win this election. shudder
Dear Liberal trolls:
I really want to express to you my admiration for your candidate and party running a clean and uplifting campaign. Really, I would not know what to do on election day were it not those heartwarming hope and change t-shirts worn by your supporters that told me “Sarah Palin is a C*&t”. Nor would I have known the delight of the moral superority of my betters as they spouted the most despicable mysogonistic tripe imaginable about a likeable and truly decent woman and mother who was also a sitting governor.
Why, I know that you were merely seeking to “speak truth to power” and wake me from my false consciousness of not being a hapless victim of special interests by slurring someone whom you had a political difference with in words, images and even “art” that would sicken you if used against your mother or sister. But hey, “politics ain’t beanbag” and what’s a little crassness when it comes to demeaning rightwing hypocrite breeders. Bitch had it coming to her…
As well, thank you for bringing me the new Light of Your Lives, King Barack the Spreader. Until this election I never realized how limited my life has been without help from the federal government. I do look forward to meeting my newly appointed union approved social worker/community organizer who will empower me with other peoples’ resources to ennoble and enrich my life. I so look forward to having the arrogant wealth creating serfs break their backs on my behalf.
Far better King Barack than that fossil McSame who only offers four more years in the present American hellhole nightmare with his philosophy that the federal government might need to do less for me. That point was well hit home by describing a former prisoner-of-war who was tortured beyond imagining as “erratic” and in need of adult diapers. I mean really, dude doesn’t use email. Talk about lame-o. No wonder that ape pooped on his head.
Moreover, I really never realized until this election that not believing everything that the Lightworker said or image he projected was 100% honest or that doubting his sincerity to be a “Centrist” was racist. I must have forgotten to read the memo that declared any dissent from your orthodoxy to be unpatriotic and bigoted. I shall no longer use my faculties for reasoning again! As with you, I shall permit the greater and more intelligent minds of the Democratic leadership to do my thinking for me and never depart from questioning what they think is best for me.
In sum, thank you Liberal trolls. Your arguments and clean campaigning have been overwhelming in their effect on me and I too will now be a mind-numbed zombie waiting for a government check.
BY THE WAY READERS-MAYBE ITS TIME WE LET PAJAMAS MEDIA KNOW ITS TIME TO DUMP RICK MORAN. I DONT MUCH LIKE OBAMA SUPPORTERS WRIITNG FOR A REAL MEDIA SITE. MR MORON,IF YOU WANT TO BE A MESSIAH BUTT KISSER,ID SUGGEST SLATE MAGAZINE,MSNBC,ANY NBC OUTLET(YOU CAN GET THAT CHRIS MATTHEWS “TINGLE”)OR THE HUFF POST. THIS MEDIA OUTLET IS SUPPOSED TO BE FOR REAL REPORTING,NOT FOR REPEATING DAILY KOS TALKING POINTS. RICK,IF YOU ARE A REAL REPORTER I SUGGEST LOOKING INTO WHO OREDERED THE ILLEGAL RELEASE OF PERSONAL INFO ON JOE THE PLUMBER. I SMELL OHIO GOVERNOR TED STRICKLAND OR OHIOSEC/STATE JENNIFER BRUNNER BEHIND THIS. RICK,HATE TO TELL YOU,ONLY A COMMUNIST ATTACKS A PRIVATE CITIZEN LIKE THAT. I SUGGEST YOU PUT YOUR “REPORTING” SKILLS TO USE ON SOME REAL REPORTING.
Buzz,
If, and is a big IF that you are 60, kid, then you are an old pathetic fool.
Sarah Palin scares you because you know she can and will stay on the national scene. Liberals, fools, kids like you are terrified of the fact that if Obama wins, in four years Palin will be a force to reckon with.
I find your intelligence lacking. I find your words no different than what I hear and ready everyday on the anti-Conservative ABC, CBS, NBC, New York Times, etc. You are but a poor stooge, a tool, a robot of the left. You repeat like a parrot what you have been told to think.
If you are going to address me and make an attempt at putting me down, please at least give me a challenge, ok? and please kid, show me a sign that you can think on your own. Do yourself at least that favor. If you are truly 60 years old by all means show that at least you have learned to think on your own. Man I am embarrassed for you. How sad that you have bought into the lies of the media and the Obamathugs. Aren’t you embarrassed kid? pathetic.
CJ, you’re being less than rational in attacking the intelligence of people whom you have never met. Instead of insulting others from your exalted high horse, why not invent something positive about the candidate you support. You rant about the “buffoons” who comment in these blogs, yet your mentality seems to fit right in with them. Two sides of the same worthless coin. Nobody with an ounce of brains would draw any general conclusions about conservatives or liberals based on what they encounter in these blogs. You’re making the same absurd error that your candidate is doing, wasting your breath with ludicrous attacks on people who are complete strangers to you. I’m your age and doubt that you are more educated or worldly than I am. But I won’t make your mistake by calling you an “idiot” just because we don’t agree.
Teleprompter,
WOW! Was that sarcasm? Really cool…(recognize the sarcasm?) Probably not.
Sarcasm is proverbially said to be the lowest form of wit and it’s use is sometimes viewed as an expression of concealed anger, annoyance and/or ignorance. I’m betting on the latter.
JohnJR08, Buzz and the rest of the Liberals on here….
Why are you so afraid of Palin? If she is such a dunce, if she is such a moron, why attack her? she will destroy herself, right?
I wonder, where is your condemnation of Liberals who have called her a c..nt? where? Where is yoru condemnation of the Liberals that have hanged effigies of her? where?
Liberals attack her for receiving a 150k wardrobe, but stay silent on Barack’s and Michelle’s $1,000 suites and dresses. You stayed quiet when Obama spent millions of dollars putting some pathetic greek columns up. You stayed quiet when Obama spent 6 million dollars on an infomercial.
Why is it that the left attacks Palin’s supposed lack of experience, but they stay quiet about Obama’s real lack of experience.
Name ten things Obama did while he was a US Senator that show he has more experience than Palin. Not to mention that McCain trounces Obama’s experience. Of course, Liberals do not dare compare Obama’s experience to McCain, why?
The fact is that Liberals hate Palin for a few reasons.
1) She is a conservative woman who dared have a down syndrome baby. According to the Liberals closed mind, all women have to be Liberals. Just like their small minds don’t understand how a hispanic or black individual can be a conservative.
2) The fact that she got ahead of Hillary Clinton. Liberals will never forgive Palin for taking the spot light from Hillary Clinton.
3) Liberals love to claim that they are for the little people. That they are for small town AMerica. The fact is that Liberals consider themselves to be the chosen few to lead everyone else. They HATE small town America with an incredible passion. Liberals are an elites bunch that believe they are always right and that they must guide all the dumb and misguided Americans.
Liberal politicians love to claim that they are for the little people. Yeah, look what they did to Joe the Plumber.
The fact is that Sarah Palin is a true American story. Small town mom who got involved in her PTA and little by little rose to become governor of Alaska. By the way, she is THE most popular governor in the United States.
The fact is that Sarah Palin has as much experience as Reagan, Clinton and as other governors who became Presidents.
Buzz, you hate Sarah Palin because she represents who you wish you could be, a succesful individual, kid.
TP Messiah, did Obama wear a Palin is a c**t tshirt?
Nope, but McCain DID hire the execrable Steve Schmidt to write Palin’s “palling around with terrorists” speech.
Even after Schmidt slimed McCain in 2000 with robocalls insinuating the McCains adopted Bangladeshi daughter was John’s mixed race love child.
Can you dig it? That is how bad McCain wants to win.
Re: Red meat Palin
We were not going to hold our nose and vote for McCain anyway. Have you seen wnd.com or onlyhuckabee.com? McCain was facing a revolt among his base if he chose anyone other than Palin, Huckabee or perhaps Jindal. Jindal was off the list because he’s way too young and inexperienced- it wouldn’t be fair to him anyway, since he only took office six months earlier. If he had gone with Romney or Pawlenty, as so many people suggested, I’d have voted for Bob Barr instead of McCain.
hey rick….did you spike my rebuttal post on BC#12 asking how he can justify to his God for voting for a party that supports infanticde while supporting the protection of insects. i guess BC#12 can say whatever he wishes against republican morals and ethics but conservatives can’t question his religious hypocracy.
Is Pajamas Media starting to get ready for the inevitable Obama Administration and the institution of the Fairness Doctrine?

Hey evans joesephe do you realise the irony of calling other people uneducated (it’s one word by the way), when you can neither spell nor punctuate?
LMAO
LETS SEE-98% OF BLACKS VOTING FOR THE “BLACK” CANDIDATE? “REV” WRIGHT AND THE TRINITY UCC? 70% OF BLACK CHILDREN BORN OUT OF WEDLOCK? BILL COSBY OSTRACIZED FOR TELLING THE TRUTH? THE FOUNDER OF THE BLACK VERSION OF AMAZON.COM SAYING THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO “KILL ALL THEE WHITE PEOPLE”? WHO THE HELL IS THE RACISTS? SEEMS TO ME THERE ARE FAR MORE BLACK HATE MONGERS THAN WHITE ONES. ANY WHITE MINSTER ACTING LIKE JEREMIAH WRIGHT? HES FINISHED. JEREMIAH THE HATE WHITEY HATE AMERICA GOD DAMN BLASPHEMIZE GOD SCUMBAG? HE GETS A 1O,000 SQ FT HOUSE IN A 99% WHITE RICH NEIGHBERHOOD. SO SAVE YOUR WHITE RACISM HORSE CRAP. I WORK IN THE LAW ENFORCEMENT BUSINESS AND I DONT HAVE TO MENTION TOO HARD WHO 2/3 OF OUR ARRESTS COME FROM. AND I LIVE IN A COMMUNITY WITH AN 8% BLACK AND A 15% LATINO POPULATION.
Funky Chicken,
It is very true, just like the Obamathugs didn’t want Hillary to win, there are some in the Republican party that are terrified of Palin winning. Mainly, the elites, Republican establishment in Washington DC does not want her to win, why? because that means that the old guard of the Republican party is done.
I live in Illinois, I am very much involved with the Republican party here. There is a divide in the Republican party about Sarah Palin and I kid you not the divide is between the Republican establishment and those of us who are new to the Republican party.
Today, both parties are dividied. Neither party will admitted, but both parties are very divided. Right now the light is being shined on the Republican divide, but if Obama loses, the huge rift that exists in the Democratic party between what I like to call the Liberman Democrats and the Obama Democrats is going to rip the party appart for a long time. oh and don’t kid yourself people, if McCain loses, our party is going to be divided for a while.
Palin represents the future of the Republican party and as we can already see Liberals are terrified of this because they know she will crush them. Don’t worry Liberals, I do not expect anyone of you to be honest enough to admit it. But here is a little secret the media has not been telling you. You know how Obama has been able to gather 100s of thousands of individuals at some rallies? Well Palin has done the same. In fact, Palin ability to rally Conservatives is much more powerful than that of Obama’s. Once again, I don’t expect a Liberal to admit this, dishonesty is part of your making. If you were honest, you would be a Conservative.
btw, feets, this my new nic.
greifer and quell were sort of bitter and angry.
I’m a lot more hopeful now.
Do you know who wheeler’s cat was?
He was Dr. John Wheeler’s cat that could either be found at Wheeler’s house or at his neighbor Einstein’s house.
Wheeler’s cat got used in a lot of thought experiments…..he was widely accounted to be much luckier than Schrodinger’s cat.
OBAMA IS THE STEALTH CANDIDATE!
The reasons why candidate Obama cannot be trusted are explained at this link;
http://greensrealworld.blogspot.com/2008/10/obama-is-stealth-candidate.html
Tell you what, I am a Palestinian American Muslim who had enough of those Anti-Islam politicians who are making every effort to kiss Israeli behinds. The trouble that America is in right now IS because of unlimited and unsencered support for Israel that is making me wonder; who comes first? America or Israel? The natorious pro-Israel lobby, AIPAC, is giving it all they got to “demonize” Muslims in order to make it easier to go to a middle-eastern country like Iraq and kill 1.5 million innocent Muslim and ultimately, secure Israel. Both parties, republicans and democrats, are pledging their infinate support for what I consider the most racist country in the world, Israel. And thats not because we have much in common with Israel, but because of the power of the special-foreign-Interest pro-Israel lobby, AIPAC. Its AIPAC that fabricated the lies about WMD’s and submitted it to our CIA for presentation infront of a congressional commitee. Just ask major Tenet and Collin powell who both resigned under the BUSH administration for a “reason”. I think “CHANGE” should not be limited to just the economy and the health care, but should also include a change in the foreign policy and limit the power of those lobbies in D.C. And if you want to support Israel, you should go run for a president there. Sure enough, some hidden hands are making sure to put the stupidest and least qualified and the most racist people in office just to make sure Israel gets what it wants. McCain, screw you and screw Israel, you traitors sob’s.
wheelers_cat,
Are you kidding me? are you serious? You know, history has never been able to trace any orders to kill the Jews to Hitler, but was Hitler at fault for the murder of millions of Jews during WWII? of course!
The same with Obama! he might not have worn the t-shirts, but he is responsible for them! my goodness, what an Obamabot you are!
Obama goes around the country telling people that race doesn’t matter, then in the next breath he tells people that Palin and McCain are going to attack him because he has a funny name, because he does not look like the men on our bills, and by the way because he is black. Have you ever heard McCain or Palin make these accusations? of course not! but Obama has repeated this over and over and over again in his speeches. Obviously, the mindless Obamabots like you have bought into it.
Obama is a thug, a Chicago politician thug. He has moved the strings behind closed doors. If you believe he hasn’t, you are beyond help, you are beyond pathetic.
By the way, Obama DOES pal around with terrorists. A fact that the Obamabots either don’t care about or are too afraid to believe. Ayers, Khalidi, etc, are all good friends of Obama. Anyone that believes this is not the case has been sold snake oil to cure their cancer by Obama.
CJ,
Hey “Mr. Talking Points”…you and Joe the unlicensed, tax owing plumber sound pretty much the same.
Hell, even the McCain campaign itself calls the Alaskan nightmare a “whack job”. The day the truly old fool picked her was the happiest day I’ve had in years…sealed his fate. Done, stick a fork in him.
One last comment then I’ll leave you and your softheaded, ditto-heads to your own devices…
I used to think Chavez was an evil, fascist dictator…but, gosh, if you’re opposed to him, I might have to give him another look.
See ya sonny
I have two words for you, Rick:
McCain Democrats.
Hard working, blue collar Democrats (“Blue Dog Democrats”) do not like redistributionism… it is as simple as that. So all of these polls that are mathematically skewed to match party registration are missing the fact that a sizeable portion of registered Democrats are going to reject Senator Obama by voting for John McCain. Senator Obama completely blew this election when he allowed his inner marxist to slip out on that fateful day in Joe’s front yard.
Remember: the phrase “Reagan Democrats” entered the lexicon *after* many Democrats rejected a candidate that was too far to the left, just as they will do next week.
JohnJr08,
I question the mentality of anyone that is dumb enough to vote for Obama. In fact, I do not question it, whether a friend, family member or stranger anyone that votes for Obama lacks intelligence, FACT. If you do not like it and consider it an insult, son that is on you. Go tells someone that cares.
by the way, you write garbage like this, ” If John McCain wins this election it will be an empty victory because it was achieved with lies, half-truths, character assassination, and innuendo which was designed to appeal to the lowest common denominators in our electorate. He has made an outrageous spectacle of this election which all the world has been watching. The man should be ashamed. And, for all of your people who spend your time digging up the irrelevant fabrications about Obama’s past, prepare yourself for change.”
and you expect me to take you seriously? please son, please.
Studies have shown that it has been Obama’s campaign who has put out the largest number of negative attacks. It is also known that it has been Obamabots who have attacked average citizens like Joe the Plumber. WE also know, and I know you are too afraid to admit this, that Obama is best friends with a ultra-left wing radical Rev. Wright, with the unrepentant terrorist William Ayers and the PLO spokes person Rashid Khalidi. It is also a fact that Obama lied in his two books, plus a fact that he is ashamed of being half white.
It is also a fact that Biden and Obama attacked Joe the Plumber and in fact mocked him. So much for both of them caring for the little people.
If Obama wins this election is because he was able to bamboozel and hoodwink poorly educated individuals like you. Oh ooops did that hurt?
Please you spent a whole post attempting to call me an idiot and then you beg me not to call others what they are, idiots.
By the way, why are you wasting your useless life in attacking someone you have never met, John McCain. Why don’t you follow your own advice, hypocrite? No wonder you are a mindless Obambot.
The American people will never elect a radical with an unknown pass and preaching Marxism…………..
If you think so, your an idiot….. I recommend you stop watching Chris Matthews………..
Buzz,
HAHAHA!!! yes run away. Why stick around, right? Typical Liberal, when they know they lost the argument they run with their tail between their legs.
I do love it when an Obamabot who the only thing they do is spew out left wing, Liberal media talking points claims that it is the Conservative doing the talking points.
Buzz, you aren’t that smart, are you? No wonder you are an Obamabot.
Yes, Buzz, you are right…..Palin is bad, Palin is bad. You told me so, so did Obama and so did the media, now I believe you. (sarcasm off)
Wow, coming out of the woodworks these wild eyed, foaming at the mouth Obamabots.
Obamabots, I don’t get it. You guys are about to win on Tuesday. So why the need to be so negative? why? I thought Obama said that you guys were going to end the divisivness of politics. I thought Obama said that you guys were going to bring America back together?
why the rage and anger? your candidate will win on Tuesday and immediately, you will see how Republican and Democrats, Conservatives and Liberals will throw away their moral believes and hug each other. HA!
Seroiusly, though, why so much anger from the left? according to every poll, every news story, Tuesday is only but a formality to crown your Messiah. So, why not rejoice? eh? and do as your Messiah has asked you to do, bring the country back together. Lead by exammple…well not Obama’s example, or Michelle’s, or Rev. Wright, or William Ayers, or Biden’s or Pelosi’s, or Murtha’s, or Barney Frank’s, ok?
It is dismaying to read comments here about “Obamabots” and that Obama supporters are “brain-washed”. It just seems too easy to attack the rationality of someone with whom you don’t agree, rather than remain focused on the actual policy differences of the candidates. The problem is, some people simply refuse to hear Obama’s ideas, much less consider them, and they appear to be basing their vote on the insinuations and innuendo of a political campaign that will go down in history as one of the dirtiest in U.S. history. Like several others here, I used to support and admire John McCain. I liked some of what I had heard Obama say– he’s an immensely likable candidate– but I was waiting to hear what McCain did at the convention. When he picked Sarah Palin, a book-burning creationist, serious doubts began to form about McCain’s judgment. Then, when his numbers started to drop in the polls, McCain went negative. VERY negative. And it hasn’t changed since. This man, who proudly stated that he would never run a negative campaign, has gone far beyond that in his desperate pursuit of the presidency. He forsook his integrity and honor and has, in the end, turned out not to be the man I had admired for the last 25 years. Worse than that, he has come across as so erratic and volatile that I’ve concluded he may be suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Soldiers who have been through far less than McCain often never recover from it. The bottom line is that a lot of people have seen what I’ve seen and they’ve come to same conclusion. Calling them an “idiot”, a “buffoon”, or “brain-washed” is nothing more than childish.
CJ: you left one thing out, what you see with the “educated” intelligencia (or so they believe) is a hatred of capitalism. It’s no surprise to me that hard working immigrants to this country who come here for the opportunity, like no place else in the world, are disgusted with the spoiled soft liberal elitists who inherited the freedoms paid for by the blood of their fathers and forefathers, who no doubt are rolling in their graves as their offspring prepare to hand over their freedoms (and the freedoms of their children and grandchildren) to an unapologetic socialist. These hollywood, academia, intelligencia hate capitalism so much because they can’t stand to see someone who is “stupider” than them make more money than them. They think because they get better grades, and go further in school, they should therefore be entitled to be more successful and make more money. Nothing, NOTHING, pisses off the liberals more than to someone who isn’t as smart as they think they are, make more money than them. Of course, they are spoiled children, ungrateful, regardless of their age. Hard working, risk taking, captialists… especially small business free enterprise loving capitalists (not big corporation pseudo-capitalists who are politically connected and donate to elitist Democrats, who actually LIKE more regulations because it keeps out competition)… these are the life-blood of our economic system, and what makes America the land of opportunity. The left-wing liberals HATE capitalism.
Wheeler’s cat:
Did anyone at a Republican rally really say “Kill him”? No.
Is anyone at such rallies wearing shirts that say “Michelle Obama is a C*&t”? No.
In the Leftist playbook, there is nothing a Democrat does that should be condemned as out of bounds simply on the basis of offending good manners. The reasoning behind it is the conviction that ends justify means and the offenders’ hearts are in the right place.
The reason we don’t get quality people to run in politics is that no one wants to be put through this crap. The way Palin and her family have been treated this election is chilling and you all have been there for the great pile on. So many comments have been related to her sexuality and not her politics. It is revolting—in fact.
BTW, Lightbringer has palled around with terrorists. Working collaboratively for years on a Board that you lead and of which you direct part of its funding to go to a terrorist for his efforts constitutes more than acquaintanceship. It connotes support and endorsement. If its the truth, it ain’t a smear.
myth buster, i feel your pain.
you do understand that McCain just picked Palin to give his campaign a selfish boost, when it would have been much better for her to run in a better environment for the GOP in 2012?
McCain just used Palin for a poll bump with the base and then as cannon fodder in the culture wars.
and….after next Tuesday…it will be all Palin’s fault McCain lost.
the blamegame is starting already.
hard to imagine a successful presidential run for Palin now.
McCain burned her up, and now she will get all the blame.
A lot of people are just having real issues with Moran for the sin of being realistic.
He is doing an opinion piece, not serving as pep officer at a McCain campaign rally. As he said, he’ll still be voting for McCain, but thinks McCain will lose, and lists reasons why.
Some people then respond as Palin Cultists, state why they revile Obama, and bring Jesus’s divine grace towards Republican nominees into the equation as why:
“Polls don’t mean anything, and Palin will win!! Oh, and the other Republican running in her trendous aura will too!”
As if that really matters. The silence on rational reasons why McCain will win and deserves to win is deafening.
So in Moran’s spirit, I’ll add some more reasons why McCain will lose without digressing into why Palin failed to do her part – since she is a secondary, not primary cause of the coming defeat.
1. The net effect of McCain’s belated pandering to the Republican Base and his dwindling band of faithful “fellow mavericks” has won him larger margins in the net vote, but failed to win any new States. And more significantly, failed to stop 3 states in the New South, Ohio – moving dramatically away from Republican dominance. Add that out West, McCains failure to attract hispanics or address Westerner’s great reservations about Southern Fundies “ruling” the Party has shifted, perhaps permanently, perhaps as future tossups, no longer reliably Republican, Nevada, Montana, New Mexico, Colorado – to the Democrats, at least this year.
The popular vote may be close, but the Electoral vote looks like a massacre – and speaks to future Democrat strength. As bad as the National Shift is, it would have been far worse if Hillary Clinton had run or some other candidate of greater experience and less to the Left than Obama had run.
Leaving Republicans locked in a dilemma – the Religious Right of the Bible Belt has profoundly alienated the rest of the country. Their attacks on Catholics, hispanic pentacostalists, calling any Republican north of the Mason-Dixon line or West of Texas traitorous RINOs, extremism on abortion politics, attacks on Mormons as heretics – almost guarantees a loss of Republicans being a national Party if this keeps up and the Religious Right is allowed to shrink the Party down to a “pure ideological bastion” of 5-6 Southern Bible Belt states.
2. Because the Republicans are now split between the Religious Right and everyone else, they lack unity and common purpose. And McCain was unable to get them to close ranks, as he was widely distrusted by all factions but the militarist adventure camp.
3. McCain and his running mate spend far too much time framing this as a contest between they who Love Israel The Most, and the Dems who “Might 2nd-guess Our Best Friend, Israel and even talk to nations Israel doesn’t want us to!”
The Republican ticket’s constant theme of Israel 1st in their hearts had several effects, none good for them:
A. Jews stayed loyal to Democrats. 75-80% will vote and use their money and clout for the Democrats. All the Republican talk had no effect on them.
B. Israel, in polls, greatly prefers Obama to McCain. Obama is favored by 75% of Israelis, 15% want McCain, 10% have no preference.
C. Talk of loving Israel like no other nation thrills the Fundies of the Religious Right, but it’s not like McCain gained votes that would have gone to Obama from that group.
D. The rest of the public has interests other than Dear Israel, and since all the stuff about Israel and Obama’s Muslim friends was a complete waste of time – McCain suffered badly in opportunity cost.
While the Republicans were obsessing about Israel – Obama was putting out messages about helping Latin America create jobs, working out trade so more jobs stay in not just America, but the Western Hemisphere. He was talking about better relations with 191 other countries besides Israel near and dear to many ethnic groups.
Obama had a much more appealing message to more voters then Republicans basically dwelling on Israel, and getting no votes for doing so.
3. It faded as a campaign theme, but the large majority of voters do not want a 3rd war started. In my circle of RINOs (since we believe in evolution and live outside the South), independents, Vets, and moderate Dems who have voted for Republicans many times – a surprising number have shifted and will vote Obama or are hesitating going for McCain on the fear of him being likely to start a unilateral, unprovoked war with Iran.
With 300 dollar a barrel oil, heavy casualties, no allies (the Israelis are unusable), possible global Depression.
Great fear…and a belief that Obama will be better able to start with a clean slate with potential allies on what to do about Iran short of a ruinious war, and if the war becomes necessary as the last option – with international support.
We are talking about decorated Vietnam, Gulf War, Iraq War & Afganistan Vets here from the political center – thinking Obama is better as a choice – and will put America, not Israel, 1st.

Larry – S. If Palin is the future of the party then I believe the party has no future.
Larry I disagree with the nutjobs that have elevated Palin to Goddess level – I have seen nothing from her but slogans and simplistic phrases and talking points meant to excite the Base and further the Everywoman Champion of Ordinary People narrative..
I don’t see a thinking person in her – but a charismatic parrot spouting out what she is programmed to. There may be a thinking person, capable of keen analysis, thinking issues through – but that Palin is not what the Republican Party served up to it’s Base, to the dismay of people outside that Base.
But to be fair…
She was not vetted in the primary season, gained nothing from that process (you could notice substantial improvement in Romney, Obama, Hillary, Huckabee, even Mccain in dealing with issues and see their minds working on problems effectively or a crafting a good answer to a question). Palin was a last minute selection, not someone brought along and pushed hard to get mastery of a range of issues. So her knowledge holes were painfully plentiful and obvious after she was trotted out after she read a great set speech at the Convention – there wasn’t time to make her more credible even with the cram course they put her on after the Convention. I think she failed open in interviews in part because she was overloaded with issue gunk and hadn’t been able to wrap her mind around all the stuff and the talking points and the Great War Heros position on it.
She may go back to Alaska and work hard on her deficiencies – because her “deer in the headlight” response when tough questions, even banal questions are asked, will doom her in a Primary race if not fixed.
In the meantime, Cult of Personality stuff is bad for politics. The country is not served well by such demogogues. Obama got away with it, but he grew and grew since he started running into a likeable, credible candidate. Most personality Cults go the way of the Deaniacs, Naderites, Wallace henchmen, or the Buchanites.
I doubt that – though Fundies may cheer at first as their Goddess’s plane comes near and she dispenses “that great hockey mom wisdom that doesn’t need any of that thar book-larning stuff” – it would magically elevate McCain’s impulsive pick into the Great Leader who will rebuild the Republicans, set up the coherent policy platform, and starts as the likely 2012 nominee.
It would be far better if Palin goes back to Alaska and works hard to be a great Governor and takes a serious stab at educating herself on issues…then if she thinks and others think she is “ready” and has grown enough as a national leader, to enter the Primaries.
She might have a national future, but it is by no means assured.
Even with her present Cult of Personality.
He has my prayers.
My first instinct is to avoid this thread like the plague. It has devolved into a spitball contest and I almost never join or remain when it does.
However, my second instinct is stronger than my first. I’m going to defend the man from Streator, because…well, it’s simply the right thing to do.
I believe Rick has every right to read the tea leaves and then tell us what he thinks. He has done that and done it pretty persuasively. But, listen guys…this is a guy who calls them as he sees them and that must be respected by us…because it is the polar opposite of what we get from the entrenched media. If we don’t celebrate and champion Rick Moran for telling us bad news when he sees it…we are no better than those who have degraded and debased the entrenched media.
We MUST applaud him and loudly. We must fill our hearts with gratitude for his willingness to give us insights to think about, that break down the echo chamber. If we are no better than what we protest, we have no credibility.
Now, this is not to say we can’t try to convince him that another viewpoint or other evidence needs consideration. Try to convince him with all your might. But don’t attack him. If you do…you lessen the “spread” between our integrity and those we condemn.
Start with the premise that he’s a good man and give your responses to his article the benefit of the highest common denominator instead of the lowest. We can agree to disagee here, even on the same side of an issue. You should be a sentry at his gate, I know I am.
He…is precisely what makes us different than Kos Kidz.
Hypocrisy, thy name is Sheila – proper names are capitalized; uneducated is one word; bigots may be big, but what do they ‘got’?; and that’s just the 1st sentence. Afraid y’all will see much more of that in the O’s new educational system….by the way Jesus is my friend and i have it on good authority that God is DEFINITELY not pro-abortion, your vote for the Demo platform, we leave that up to your conscience.
I can’t really imagine Obama losing the popular vote. let alone the electoral vote. There is not redistributionism planned. Obama just wants to give poor people and the middle class bigger tax breaks. That is as far as the “redistribution” goes. Someone should try asking McCain what kind of tax breaks he will be giving the middle-class. His simple response will be “none”. He cannot relate fiscally to 98 percent of Americans. He is out of touch, old, and feeble. He can’t keep his emotions to himself. I really do not want a president that grunts, moans, and laughts at leaders from other countries. On the other hand, he won’t be sitting across from those leaders because he doesn’t believe in high-level diplomacy.
McCain’s mantras are “drill, baby, drill” and “bomb, baby, bomb”. That is truly scary. Fortunately, we have intelligent people in the U.S. who see past the garbage the McCain’t/Failin campaign is spewing. Obama isn’t friends with Bill Ayers nor is he friends with any former PLO terrorist. By the way, McCain was a keynote speaker at an ACORN-sponsored “Get out the vote” benefit in 2006 and you noticed that the ACORN controversy was dropped quickly from the stump speeches. Oh yeah, here are some more interesting tidbits: Obama is not Muslim! Obama is not an Arab! Obama is a Christian American who also cares a lot about this country. Get a clue people and please quit spewing hate speech.
Buzz, we’ll find out tues night, won’t we? No, I haven’t had a lobotomy. I’ve grown up, which would be why the democratic party tends to be the party of the young. I no longer want to give what I’ve worked for to lazy people-because I have seen that their crao situations are almost always their own fault. I no longer think my convenience is more important than a child’s life (3 guesses how I came to that conclusion) It would have been really hard to not vote for Hillary. In fact I almost certainly would have. I’m a bit glad Obama saved me from voting solely on my vagina
JohnJR08 said”When he picked Sarah Palin, a book-burning creationist, serious doubts began to form about McCain’s judgment”
Before that, this Obamabot said, “The problem is, some people simply refuse to hear Obama’s ideas, much less consider them, and they appear to be basing their vote on the insinuations and innuendo of a political campaign that will go down in history as one of the dirtiest in U.S. history.”
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! you are joking right JohnJR08?! you are honestly joking, right?! hahahahaha!!!
do you not realize that YOU are the one basing your vote on inuendos, lies, smears, etc? are you truly this blind? wow!! honestly John, I pity you.
If you are not being a hypocrite, then you are truly a blind, blind person.
How can you be upset at anyone for not liking Obama because YOU believe that this person has bought into lies and smears about Obama. And then you turn around and spew out lies and smears that have been spewed out by the media and the Obama campaign about Sarah Palin.
Honestly man, you REALLY need to start thinking on your own, but I will give you this, your posts do make me laugh hard. Thanks my Obamabot.
Now keep on repeating like the Obamabot and parrot that you are the lies and smears about Palin and turn around and complain about the lies and smears about Obama!
WOW!! it is the freaking Twilight Zone here! holy smokes…..
John, john, john…..
JohnRJ08:
Its all about the issues is it? Tell me three policy ideas of Obama’s that made you want to vote for him and how these are superior to McCain’s?
When exactly did Governor Palin hold the book burning?
Name any story in the last thirty days that has appeared in the hard-hitting mainstream media critical of Obama? How many magazine covers at the newstand have glowing pictures of Good King Barack on them?
One only has to “go negative” when stuff critical of one’s opponent won’t be reported on. That’s your answer for the “VERY negative” campaign.
You know what, CJ. Your first mistake is calling me a “liberal”. Nobody that I have ever known would categorize me as being liberal. NOBODY. The difference between you and I is that I don’t have some simplistic cardboad cut-out conception of these candidates, and I have rejected the McCain/Palin campaign’s personal attacks on their opponent. Your second mistake is suggesting that I’m afraid of Sarah Palin. She is going to self-destruct. In fact, I would say that after this election is over, the Republican Party is going to ditch her faster than a Jamaican sprinter. She is not intellectually capable of leading this country. You can’t use a teleprompter when you’re meeting with foreign heads of state, and it is preferential to have some life experience that has exhibited an interest in international affairs and world history, beyond the borders of Wasilla, Alaska. She is a provincial, uneducated, polarizing ideologue who suffers from massive amounts of hubris. More importantly, the leaders of the Republican Party already know that she would tear that party apart. What scares me more than Sarah Palin are the people like you who don’t seem to care about what’s inside that well-wrapped package. Never has a candidate been so obviously ill-equipped to hold high office in this country, yet you attack people here for pointing that out. Who’s brain-washed?
JOhnJR08,
I wonder if you hate ALA, the American Library Assocation, an organization that decides which books go into a Library. These is an extremely Liberal group which has actually denied Conservative books into many Libraries. Do you hate them as much as you hate Palin?
Honestly, I can’t believe that you first write that Palin is a book-burning indivdiual and then you cry over the reason YOU believe some of us do not like Obama which you believe is based on lies and smears. Yet you have no problem believing a lie and smear about Palin. Wow!!!
where does the Obamabot’s hypocrisy end, where?
I believe it is YOU the one that is not supporting McCain becuase YOU have bought into all the lies, smears, inuendos, etc that the Obama campaigh, the media and the rest of the Liberals have thrown at the McCain and Palin ticket. You are projecting unto others how YOU have come to the conclusion that McCain and Palin is not a good ticket for America.
Wake UP man! and start thinking on your own. Honestly, I can’t get over your hypocristy. You cry because you believe people have bought into inuendos and smears about Obama, yet right before you that you spew inuendos and smears about Palin as fact.
sad John, truly, truly sad!
No wonder you are such an Obamabot. Keep on defending your messiah and spreading around smears, lies and inuendos about McCain and Palin, hypocrite.
There is one reason why he does have a prayer: That is the American people who aren’t polled, who aren’t part of focus groups, who aren’t inundated with phone calls who show up on election day and say NO to Obama’s Hope and Change schtick. They’ll say no to inexperience, they’ll say no to Audacity of Ego, they’ll say no to Barack Hussein Obama.
As they say, it’s not over until it’s over, or in the football business, “That’s why they play the games on Sunday, anything can happen.”
I’ve been visiting a few of these political blogs for the last month and seen a lot of different ‘characters’ ooze to the surface, but this CJ is in a category all by himself (or herself. I can’t tell). Clearly, this person is here for one reason: to bait people. There are plenty of other blogs out there where this kind of sewage has yet to flow and the discussions are more edifying and civil. If this CJ is indicative of the people who support Sarah Palin, then that should be all the proof the Republican Party needs to realize that they have to make a major course correction. The GOP used to stand for common sense, decency and intelligence. Now, thanks to people like CJ, it stands for nothing but getting elected.
JohnJR08,
haha!! oh please, you cry about people taling about policies instead of inuendos, smears, etc. yet you rationalized that the ONLY reason you are not voting for McCain is because of smears, lies and inuendos that have been pushed on to people like you by the media and the Democrats.
Please guy, you ARE a Liberal. I am sure the problem is that you live in such an ultra-LIberal area that they consider you a Conservative.
You can’t use a teleprompter to speak with foreign leaders? agreed!!! so why is that Obama uses teleprompters wherever he speaks, whether it is official or unoffical? Or is it that it is ok for Obama to use teleprompters and not for Palin? eh?
JOhn says, “She is a provincial, uneducated, polarizing ideologue who suffers from massive amounts of hubris.”
hahaha!!! ok, let’s play your little game. Tell me all the incredible legislative experience that Obama has that qualify him to become President. Name all the bills he helped create and pushed through the Senate and Congress that went against his party and that show true leadership. One or two bills is not enough.
Obama not an idealogue? HAHAHAHA!!!! you are such a brainwashed Obamabot. sad, sad.
John said, “Never has a candidate been so obviously ill-equipped to hold high office in this country, yet you attack people here for pointing that out. Who’s brain-washed?”
You are right John, you and I agree that Obama is the least qualified candidate to ever run for the office of the Presidency of the United State. Oh and yeah, to answer your question, you are the brainwashed.
I do find it amusing that you keep on claiming that no one wants to talk policy, that instead we just want to repeat smears and lies against Obama. yet you have yet to mention ONE policy that makes Obama worthy of my vote.
are you so deep into the Obamabot mentality that you can’t see through your own gargabe? wow!
Let me add that Palestinian Americans have been the most outstanding citizens of this country.
MJ:
How the hell do you give someone who doesn’t pay taxes a tax break? Right now 40% of this country’s earners don’t put their shoulder on the government wheel. Instead, they get a check from Uncle Sam. How is the current system unfairly skewed when it is this same 40% who get more advantage out of and use of government programs?
If you don’t pay any taxes to support the government and you get a check from the government paid for by taxes from those who do, how is that not redistribution?
How much more of the tax burden do you think needs to be shifted on the wealth creators before they decide that it isn’t worth it any more?
Anyway, who cares! Barack is so yummy and cool. He will so totally charm those who hate America with his high-level diplomacy skills and Harvard Law degree. The America haters will be just be bowled over by his eloquence. All the problems of the world are healed by the salve of The One’s words and just disappear. Just ask any of his TB supporters.
No amount of negativity can keep me from voting for Sarah and McCain. I agree that the odds are long, but who quits before the last out? Go vote for our guy and lets see how it comes out. At least WE will be able to tell our kids that WE tried to stop the advance of the welfare state before it was too late.
JOhnny, for you son, for you…
Obama policies that make him unfit to be President of the United States of America.
1) Pro-Choice. He will sign into law the Freedom of Choice Act.
2) He will down size our military and attempt to talk to dictators that hate America, much like Chamberlin did with HIlter.
3) He believes Iran is a little country that is no threat to the world.
4) He wants to steal from the rich to give to the poor.
5) He wants to punish succesful individuals with higher taxes, money that he will redistribute to the poor.
6) He wants to give special privilages to gays.
7) He wants to leave Iraq before the job is done.
9) He believes that getting pregnant after having intercourse is a punishment.
shall I continue? are these inuendos, smears and lies? NOPE! these all come directly from his speeches at different times and places.
Obama is a left wing radical. Only Obamabots are too blind to see it.
JOHNRJ08 #139
The country club Republican establishment didn’t like her either… she threatens their world (and yours). She took down Murkowski, the sitting governor in Alaska, running for re-election… and withstood the vested interests of the established good ol’ boy network and won. Then she took on the monied big oil boys, and took it to the people of Alaska and kicked their a@@’s… and she scares the HELL out of the Washington establishment and elite who are afraid of someone who threatens real reform… go Sarah! The more you don’t like her, the more I do… may she ride into Washington with the wind at her back and sweep away the despicable leeches who have made an industry out of living off of taxpayers’ money, and may she and John McCain pull off an upset and send a message to socialist Democrats and country club Republicans alike, “we aren’t going to take it anymore, go home and get a job you bunch of parasites!”
Rick Moran: Were you licking your TV screen like Chris Matthews last night when Odumbo was giving his vapid speech? I come to Pajamas Media to read and be with other Conservatives. What are you doing here? Maybe you should write for the Daily Kos..or better yet, go to MSNBC and ask if you can work for Keith Overbite. You’d be a good speech writer for him.
As Mark Levin would say to you: “Get outta here, you big dope” McCain/Palin: Victory ’08!
JohnJR08 says, “I’ve been visiting a few of these political blogs for the last month and seen a lot of different ‘characters’ ooze to the surface, but this CJ is in a category all by himself (or herself. In other words, you can’t back up what you said that Sarah Palin is a book burning person. You can’t back up your candidate with policies. You can’t do what you are asking others to do.
You came in here and you cried about people not supporting Obama because of inuendo, smears and lies that have been spread about him. yet, you have zero problem spreading smears, lies and inuendos about Sarah Palin.
Expalin your hypocrisy? simple as that. Stop deflecting the question and answer your hypocrisy.
I didn’t know that holding the Obamabots feet to the fire was being hateful.
By the way, IF you were ever a McCain supporter, good ridence. McCain doesn’t need the support of wishy-washy individuals like you who so easily beleive the smear and lies that the left spreads around about him.
now, will you answer why it is ok for you to spew out smears and lies about Palin?
we are all waiting for your hardcore proof that Palin is a book buring individual. Tick, tock, tick, tock….or will you do some more crying?
CJ: “The fact is that Liberals hate Palin for a few reasons.
1) She is a conservative woman who dared have a down syndrome baby. According to the Liberals closed mind, all women have to be Liberals. Just like their small minds don’t understand how a hispanic or black individual can be a conservative.”
I’ve heard this argument before, and every time I hear it, it makes me laugh a little bit more. How ludicrous, unsubstantiated and just plain stupid. As if there are a bunch of liberals sitting around shaking their fists yelling “How dare she choose to carry her disabled child to term!! How dare she!!”
“2) The fact that she got ahead of Hillary Clinton. Liberals will never forgive Palin for taking the spot light from Hillary Clinton.”
Please. In case you haven’t noticed, we’re all pretty much way too excited about this guy Obama to lose sleep being angry over Hillary. Anyhow, the “spotlight” that Palin stole is the same spotlight reserved for juggling circus animals, so she can keep it.
“3) Liberals love to claim that they are for the little people. That they are for small town AMerica. The fact is that Liberals consider themselves to be the chosen few to lead everyone else. They HATE small town America with an incredible passion. Liberals are an elites bunch that believe they are always right and that they must guide all the dumb and misguided Americans.”
Man, this just keeps getting funnier. “Curse you, small town America! We liberals keep getting so close to imlementing our socalist global government, but you keep foiling our evil schemes! But we’ll get you, if it’s the last thing we do!” Please. We don’t hate small town America at all. I for one am actually pretty resentful of politicians on both sides who have drummed up artificial conflicts between urban and rural America just to get votes.
“The fact is that Sarah Palin is a true American story. Small town mom who got involved in her PTA and little by little rose to become governor of Alaska. By the way, she is THE most popular governor in the United States.”
Tell me, CJ, how is Sarah Palin’s story any more or less “American” than anyone else’s? I mean, if you are American and live in America, isn’t your story American by definition? So how is simply gowing up in America a unique qualification for office? I seriously hope you’re not using her PTA membership as an actual unique qualification?
The truth is that Palin has been judged by a truckload of leaders in both parties, as well as journalists, generals and historians as wholly unqualified for the position of Vice President. She has demonstrated a lack of interest in national and international affairs, a lack of clear understanding of policy, a lack of inquisitiveness and a set of beliefs and ideas which a great deal of Americans cleary do not share.
Yes, she should be commended for her decision to raise a developmentally disabled child. Yes, she should be commended for providing an example to young women everywhere that they do not have to choose between raising a family and following their career aspirations. Yes, she should be commended for her role taking on big energy while governing in Alaska.
But for me and a whole lot of other Americans, those qualities are simply not sufficient to justify putting her in a position where she will be a heartbeat away from being the leader of the Free World.
John RJ08,
You are SO right. As I read today : “This election will be the functional equivalent of the Extinction at the K-T Boundary for the Republican party”. And, it is eating all these bloggers up.
That’s what you get when you don’t believe in evolution!
You couldn’t be more wrong. I am dismayed that you are writing such a thing so few days before the election. Are you trying to keep people away from the ballot box? I am very disappointed in you….
http://www.lasvegassun.com/videos/2008/oct/22/983/
doesn’t really need much explanation….except…..
Weimar.
Just so it’s absolutely clear: Sarah Palin believes that mankind walked alongside living dinosaurs. Also, as mayor of Wasilla, she asked the city’s librarian if it would be possible to remove a long list of books from the library. To her credit, the librarian refused. Sarah Palin was picked to be John McCain’s running-mate by people like Fred Barnes and Bill Kristol, right-wing pundits who met her during a junket cruise to Alaska back in 2007. On their recommendation, several high-ranking Republicans, including John Bolton, Robert Bjork and Dick Morris, traveled to Alaska to meet with Palin at the Governor’s mansion. It was this group who pressured John McCain to select her as his running-mate, without any vetting. It was an incredibly cynical political ploy for McCain, who wasn’t allowed by the RNC to pick Joe Lieberman. Instead, he was forced to pick someone who makes him look like a centrist. No wonder there is so much dissension inside the McCain/Palin campaign.

Reject Obama!
Bradley effect. There is the flaw with these polls.
Obama will lose regardless of what any poll says. The people being polled aren’t telling the truth for fear of being called racist. So, instead, they say they are voting for Obama.
Once the reach the polls they will vote for McCain.Bradley
JohnRJ08:
Who is sovereign in this country? This giant nation of 300 million is peopled with more nurses, mechanics, plumbers, farmers, computer technicians, ditch diggers, service workers than lawyers, academics, or executives. Yet the latter are somehow deemed to be the “right people” to be governing.
In Alaska Governor Palin is overwhelmingly popular. Is it because the vast majority of Alaskans are bookburning creationists kooks? I don’t think so. Its because Governor Palin is a microcosm of her state. She may not have gone to Harvard but that doesn’t mean she’s an idiot, or ignorant of the world.
The reason that Palin has appeal is that folks can relate to her. I believe you are incorrect in your conclusions that somehow she is an avatar of a coming dark age. I believe that she does stand for Republican values of common sense, decency and intelligence.
Anyone who doesn’t want to give more play money to social engineeers shows all of those traits.
I just read a confession from a posting at Hillbuzz.com. What did the person say? That they worked on a campaign for money and their job was to do whatever they could to make the opposition’s people feel bad and not want to vote. Sound familiar?
Look at all the trolls. Anytime you say anything positive about McCain winning, they come to discourage you. They are getting paid to do this. Obama is in trouble folks! His new strategy for winning is to suppress the McCain/Palin vote and use ACORN cheating as much as possible. Obama also has people in the media working overtime to help with the suppression by constantly writing and talking gloom and doom.
I would paste the confession here, but I don’t know if this is legal. Here’s the link to the comment. Look for comment #145.

Also, read the Hillbuzz site for encouragement. These are Hillary Democrats that are working fervently to elect John McCain. They’ve got lots of good on-the-ground information that is showing pro-McCain, anti-Obama voting amongst Democrats.
Forget the media! They’re all in the tank. We, the voters, have the final say and it is JOHN MCCAIN!

Bradley Effect.
These polls are incorrect for that reason alone.
People are saying they are voting for Obama rather than worry about the Liberals calling them racists. In truth, the majority of them will vote for McCain when they actually go to the polls.
Go read up on the Bradley Effect and you will realize that Obama doesn’t stand a chance.
The fact of the matter is, Obama is inexperienced. Also, from his book “Dreams From My Father” he admits to attending Black Panther and Marxist rallies on a regular basis. He also, in his own words, admits that he is a Marxist.
I don’t expect you to believe me. Go out and read his book and you will see the truth for yourself. Marxist and racist.
If wheelers_cat wants to come visit and spread the hopeful I would make an apostrophe for her for keeps. I would do that.
Your election campaign feels a lot like ours last year in Australia, where a youngish, untried leftie thrashed an experienced conservative incumbent who had not done anything fundamentally wrong.
It’s just that after 11 years the desire for change was simply overwhelming, especially after a brilliant marketing campaign which painted the leader as yesterday’s man.
Notwithstanding this, no way did we hand control of both Houses of Parliament to the new Government. Surely Americans wouldn’t allow a new Government full control of both the White House and Congress ?
AdrianS – I think you should invest some money in proving that Obama is not a citizen. Like you life savings. Or isntead go to Wahington and demonstrate outside the Supreme Court
Refresh my memory, Pajamas folk: was not George Orwell’s 1984 written about postwar England as it would evolve under the benevolent guidance of the Labor Party? And was not one of the chief points that the new rulers could create reality by fiat? (Reminder: how the Labor Party changed its line on Palestine after they got power, and what a mess that made, the horrid repercussion of which we live with today.)
(1984 has often been interpreted as about the Soviets, but it was Animal Farm that did that job.)
I am not surprised that the Obama campaign and their devoted epigones in MSM and, apparently, here, are declaring the race over.
If I am wrong about Orwell, give a holler.
Wheeler’s Cat:
Weimar? Really?
A lovely sense of proportion you got there.
I guess I missed that part of the DNC Convention when Code Pinkers interrupted Lightbringer’s outdoor speech or even Plugsly’s indoor speech.
Y’all are real Sophie Scholls.
Teleprompter Messiah, if that really is your name, the main reason I’m supporting Obama is not so much because of his policy differences with McCain. In the end, whichever candidate ends up being president will be faced with realities that a presidential campaign doesn’t have to address. Besides that, things could be quite different by January 20th. I do like that Obama is pro-Choice. Palin would say that he’s “pro-abortion”, but that’s another half-truth. Obama doesn’t think the state should have the right to tell women what to do with their bodies in the first trimester of a pregnancy. You can be pro-life and still support pro-choice, unless you expect everybody else to share your beliefs. I also think that it is about time we walked away from this “trickle down” economics theory, and gave people making less than a quarter of a million dollars a year a tax break. People making more than $250,000/year, such as myself, can take home nearly $20,000/month. Those people can afford a 3% tax hike without going to poor house and causing the collapse of capitalism. This is a nothing more than a rollback of taxes to the levels those people paid prior to the Bush tax cuts, yet people call it “socialism”. I also like the fact that Obama has a background in education. We’re on our way to becoming a 3rd world country thanks to an educational system that is a train wreck. Those are a couple of things I like about Obama, but the main reason I’m voting for him is that he has ten times the intellect of John McCain and Sarah Palin put together. I, personally, have had enough of a second-rate intellect running this country for the last 8 years, and John McCain would just be more of the same. McCain only got into the Naval Academy because his father and grandfather were Navy admirals and, once he got in, he managed to graduate 894th in a class of 899 midshipmen. In this campaign, he has shown an inability to speak concisely on complex subjects and has resorted to ‘talking points’ in most of his unscripted interviews. If John McCain were to be elected President, it would give new meaning to the Peter Principle. In this election, deliberative intelligence trumps political experience.
Mary:
I definitely think that Rick Moran is a leftist plant trying to get you to stay home and not vote
JohnJR08 says, “Just so it’s absolutely clear: Sarah Palin believes that mankind walked alongside living dinosaurs. No wonder there is so much dissension inside the McCain/Palin campaign.”
and your lies, inuendos and smears about Sarah Palin continue, eh?
Johnny, Johnny, you have yet to prove that Sarah Palin asked a Librarian to remove books. You have yet to prove any of the smears and lies you are spewing about Palin.
I find it amusing how you cried about no one talking about policies. You have yet to show us all which policies of Obama are superior to McCain’s.
Your decision to hate Palin and support Obama is based on smears, lies and inuendos.
tick, tock, tick, tock….still waiting for hardcore proof of all the smears and lies you are spreading about Palin.
Sure is fun to come over here and bait all you conservative mouth-breathers
All is lost! All is lost! LOL
Steve P. says, “Tell me, CJ, how is Sarah Palin’s story any more or less “American” than anyone else’s? I mean, if you are American and live in America, isn’t your story American by definition? So how is simply gowing up in America a unique qualification for office? I seriously hope you’re not using her PTA membership as an actual unique qualification?”
Don’t be such a dunce!!!! it is rhetorical, you Liberal, rhetorical, Obamabot! duh, duh, duh….intelligence not your forte, eh? wow!
Steve P. “I’ve heard this argument before, and every time I hear it, it makes me laugh a little bit more. How ludicrous, unsubstantiated and just plain stupid. As if there are a bunch of liberals sitting around shaking their fists yelling “How dare she choose to carry her disabled child to term!! How dare she!!” ”
Actually, if you bothered to read, you would know that there are quite few groups on the left that attacked Palin for having a down syndrome baby. Start with NOW, Planned Parenthood and other “wonderful” murdering staples of the left. Not only do you lack intelligence, you aren’t well informed. You keep on proving why you are an Obamabot.
Steve P. says, “Please. We don’t hate small town America at all. I for one am actually pretty resentful of politicians on both sides who have drummed up artificial conflicts between urban and rural America just to get votes.”
Really, they don’t hate small town America? So why is that Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Hillary, and the rest of the Democratic party make fun of Sarah Palin and here mayorship in small town America? According to them, that doesn’t equate to executive experience? Furthermore, why is that they attacked a small town American dweller as Joe the Plumber. Kid, you live in a very, very, very small box, don ‘t you. Hear, speak and say no evil when it comes to your Demoncrats, eh?
Steve P. “The truth is that Palin has been judged by a truckload of leaders in both parties, as well as journalists, generals and historians as wholly unqualified for the position of Vice President. She has demonstrated a lack of interest in national and international affairs, a lack of clear understanding of policy, a lack of inquisitiveness and a set of beliefs and ideas which a great deal of Americans cleary do not share.”
A truck load of individuals from both sides of the eisle? eh?! please pass around what you are smoking! It has been the Liberal media, the Dumbcrats and Rhinos who have judged her unqualified. Of course, individuals like you who can’t htink on their own are more than willing to allow others tell him what to think about other people, right? A lack of interest in foreign affairs, eh? says who? oh oops my bad, you were told this. I am sorry Steve P. since you were told you believe it.
Do you know how stupid you sound, do you really? wow!
A lack of understandin of policies, a lack of inquisiveness? where the heck do you come up with this garbage? oh sorry the Liberal media, barackobama.com and DNC.com.
Wow, you sound like a freaking Demoncrat commerical.
the fact is that everything you said on your post has been pushed down the throats of Americans by the media and the Democrats. Nothing you have said I have not heard before from a bunch of Democrats.
Have you ever been taught how to think on your own? I swear, Liberals are Liberals because they are lazy individuals who love to be told how to think, when to think and of whom to think it. pathetic!
Using your argument, there have been truck loads of historians, politicians, etc who have said that Obama is inexperienced. That he has never held any type of executive office. That he has only traveled to Europe a handful of times. that he has never traveled to Latin America. I mean, using your argument, Obama is as poorly qualified to become President as Palin is to become VP. Hmmmm….and which office is more important?
thinking and intelligence not for your forte, eh Steve P.? that’s what happens when you allow others to do your thinking for you.
I have to say that this article and the comments are exactly what I expected to find. The guys puts together a reasonable piece on why McCain is failing to close the deal with very valid points and the commentors are going off the deep end saying it isn’t so. Plus, we get the rabid on all sides of the issue. The GOP is in trouble because they lost there way as fiscal conservatives and champions of smaller government. They have become Democrats and now the Democrats are swinging even farther to the left with no one left to check them.
People are sick and tired of politics as usual and this year only the Democrats have successfully gotten that message out. The Republicans have a huge crediblility issue with the public because regardless of the last two years, they have had the President for the last eight and the country is a mess. They have not come forward and said sorry and then pledged to return to their principles. This is the sole reason they are going to lose this election. If McCain had spent more time naming names and calling out the criminals in both parties, he would have won the hearts of millions, but instead he putzed around and pandered to the far right.
Do I want McCain to win sure because the other option is just too horrible to imagine, but will he? Probably not because the Republicans are unrepentent for their actions and the public is letting them know just like in 2006. As long as the Republicans act like Democrats (fiscal spend thrifts and huge government) the public is going to vote for the originals.
Keep Palestinians and Muslims out of your dirty race you Racist pigs. The PLO is a legitimate “liberation” organization striving to liberate the Israeli-occupied Palestinian land. You dumm Republicans are looking at the world from your rear-views and have your facts and ethics switched around. Republicans are racist/traitors sob’s that will do anything to kiss Israeli asses. This really makes me wonder if they are running for presidency to serve America or to serve Israel? Isn’t it enough that we are in Iraq on behalf on Israel to terminate their old-time nemesis?. We have stretched our ethics too far and we have put Israeli interests ahead of ours until we lost our ethical, economical and political leadership in the world….enough is enough. We hope that “CHANGE” will not only be limited to the economy and health care, but also our screwed -up foreign policy should be re-evaluated in order to do whats best for America, not Israel. Change = Foreign interest lobbies “AIPAC” out of D.C……….peace.
JohnJR08 says, “Those are a couple of things I like about Obama, but the main reason I’m voting for him is that he has ten times the intellect of John McCain and Sarah Palin put together. I, personally, have had enough of a second-rate intellect running this country for the last 8 years, and John McCain would just be more of the same.”
Obama an intellect? Obama can’t speak two sentences without uttering a few hundred “uhs” unless he has a teleprompter infront of him.
and shoot, Hitler is known to have been a very intelligent man.
Obama is a good car salesman, that all that he is. Intelligent, I would nto call him that, disciplined when he needed to be, yes. Intelligent, no way. No intelligent person pals around terrorist. No intelligent person says that having a baby is a punishment. No intelligent person considers Iran a small country that is not a threat. No intelligent person beleives that pitting economic classes and races against each other is a good thing for America.
I do find it amusing, JohnJR08 that you claim that you were pro-McCain at one point. Hmmmm…did you realize after Obama came on the scene that McCain wasn’t intelligent? did it escape you while those years that you supported him? All of a sudden Obama jumps on the scence and now you support him and don’t support McCAin? I thought you believed McCain was great before he ran for this election? If he has a subpar intelligence, he had it long before now, right?
John go sell your fake story to your Liberal friends, my Obamabot. You are just spewing pure and utter propaganda. How much is the Obama campaign paying you to post on here, eh?
pathetic, truly pathetic.
JohnRJ08:
Well, I can see clearly now that you are ill informed:
1) Abortion is legal and a constitutional right in the United States. That right is not confined to the first trimester. On can obtain an abortion in this country up to the time of birth without any legal impediment.
2) The trickle-down economics theory started by that man of common sense, decency and intelligence, Ronald Reagan, has given us the longest running economic expansion in the country’s history. The wealth created during the last 25 years has been truly extraordinary and the prosperity that has come in its wake has “trickled down”. Why so? Because if you worked hard and took risks you got to keep most of it. Incentives matter. Walking away from this theory means walking into something else.
3) We spend more on educating people than Europeans or the Japanese yet our outcomes are worse. It ain’t money that is hurting us in the education department. Its the education establishment, to whom is wed the Democrat party.
Lastly, Obama is smart. Whoopdy doo. The question is whether he is wise. Wisdom gives rise to good instincts. The answer to that is unclear. However, his intellectual pursuits indicate he buys the whole Leftist “America the Opppressor” claptrap and has never shown any moral courage that I’m aware of. He has shown cleverness in self-promotion and an excellent ability to be ruthless when it suits him.
Obama’s chief selling point is he is a giant projector screen upon which what you imagine he is, he is.
JohnJR08 says, “Palin would say that he’s “pro-abortion”, but that’s another half-truth. Obama doesn’t think the state should have the right to tell women what to do with their bodies in the first trimester of a pregnancy. You can be pro-life and still support pro-choice, unless you expect everybody else to share your beliefs.”
Wow, do you not realize that this is the same rationale that the Slave States used. That the Federal Government had no right to tell them how to conduct business in their private life. But what was concluded? that the Federal Government has every right to intervene when the life of someone else is at stake.
Obama is pro-choice, more like he is pro-murdering babies. The government has every right to impose laws on any State or citizen when the life of someone else is put in danger. That our Supreme Court was lied to and corrupt judges past a decision as bad as the Dred Scott decision is something else.
But the FACTS are FACTS, Obama is for killing innocent babies. That is the reality of it.
Funny how the South used the same argument agains the North. “Not everyone shares your beliefs that slaves are human beings”. “The government has not right to say what I can and cannot do with my property”.
What a sad nation we have become when we can rationalize the murder of 50 million babies away.
Obama will allow millions of more murders.
Everyone needs to go outside and take a deep breath, this is one of the worst posts (speaking of the comments) I’ve read on this blog; yet, it’s somehow all so appropriate for the end of this unsubstantial election cycle–a whole lot of words from both sides but no solutions.
Teleprompter Messiah says, “Obama’s chief selling point is he is a giant projector screen upon which what you imagine he is, he is.”
Great point!!! In other words, Obama takes pride in being a cameleon, a hypocrite, a person that can manipulate others and no one will notice.
and yes, poor JohnJR08 is very ill informed, but so are 99.9% of Liberals.
This is an actual question for the folks defending Obama. I really don’t think I’ve heard an answer.
-Why is Obama’s 20 year association in a church with Jeremiah Wright irrelevant?
-Why is Obama’s obvious connections to William Ayres (which have been well publicized so I won’t make the argument for the connection here) irrelevant when choosing a president ? Also, bonus question- do you concur with the general public’s perception of William Ayres as a former domestic terrorist ?
- Why is Obama’s connections to Acorn, which is being investigated for voter fraud in 11 states currently and yesterday an former employee admitted to using Obama’s doner list to solicit donations from people who already had sent in the maximum donation, irrelevant to becoming president of the United States.
I’ll stop there. I have alot more questions but I’d like to get answers to these first. I’m very well versed on Obama’s proposals, so please don’t accuse me of avoiding the “issues.” Obama is being submitted as a presidential candidate because of his judgment. Why does his past associations with domestic terrorists, Acorn and Jerimiah Wright not factor into his overall judgment ?
Jason:
So glad that our new Democrat overlords could come over and remind us how super-smart you are.
I’m glad my Democrat minder is around to show me how to use this here computer thingy.
Oh as an aside, for those of you defending Moran, there are 100 other websites out there saying the same thing. There is absolutely no reason for 1 more article on the inevitable McCain loss, ESPECIALLY on a conservative website. Its not that we don’t want to hear the other side of it, its just every single network and paper have been saying McCain has lost the election for the past month. We don’t need/want more.
Obama’s going to lose. Polls for 30 years tend to overestimate democratic strength in the actual election. They are more useful for estimating trends. Democrats are dumb enough to believe the quoted error margin is the actual margin when in fact it is only the statistical error margin by which the sample could statistically deviate from population from randomness (like flipping a coin heads 3 times). It does not count the error margin by which the sample is not represenative because of bad sampling e.g. garbage in – garbage out.
Besides despite the best efforts of the CNN and most major media to bury Obama’s huge flaws a lot of people are waking up to what a smooth talking liar he is.
He already broke a major pledge (campaign finance) before the election is over. He’s flat out lied about Ayers (they did kill a federal judge with a bomb which the media keeps neglecting to mention). He lied about his family in his memoirs. His dad was already married when he took advantage of his mother (18). He then abandonded his family and went back to Africa and his mother divorced him when she found out he was a bigamist. He died in a car accident but OBama doesn’t mention he was drunk. His dad was given extraordinary advantages and was a screw-up.
Besides how big a narcissist do you have to be to write a memoir at about 34 when you haven’t done anything with your life?
Poor Martin Luther King spinning in his grave digging a hole to the center of the earth. Democrats and blacks perverted his dream. So we have a Haferican-American presidential candidate being judged not on his race (1/2 black) but on his skin color (90% of blacks going for him) while his charachter is deplorable.
Oh yes, when will the MSM cover how he won his first election to the Illinois Legislature by running unopposed because he hired an attorney who got all his opponents kicked off the ballot? How is that Change? That is old school hard nosed Chicago politics (where I grew up).
Then he made the Senate as a beneficiary of the Jeri Ryan/Divorce/Swingers Club scandal. The Republican candidate pulled out at the last minute and the republicans could only put up a last minute joke candidate.
So how does Obama winning two elections by default, getting support for his skin color, breaking a big pledge, lying a lot in writing about his and his families biography qualify him for the presidency?
Its understandable how that qualified him for democratic nomination. But not the presidency.
You got that right Will.
We are now onto Abortion. Abortion is not a constitutional right, but a medical procedure and should not be a federal issue ever. But everyone is entitled to their opinion currently, but have at it and enjoy this freedom while it lasts because it won’t be long before open discussion of this kind will be disallowed via legislation. Also for all crazed right wingers out there the Abortion Protection Act is going to be high on the Obama presidential agenda, so hoot and cry now because soon you will have zero say in the abortion fight.
This is why this country is so screwed up. We have our federal government involved in stuff it should never be involved in and then paying huge sums of taxpayer dollars to support those positions. You want a better government than vote for less government, but guess what this is America and every dumb@$$ gets a vote and we abide by the laws of this country, so standby for some rough seas ahead.
Polls show that the vast majority of US servicemen and women oppose Ovbama’s brand of atheistic communism. When a soldier has an incompetent or evil commander he or she is not obliged to follow orders. Perhaps the army will take power to preserve the US from Obama? What do others think?
Teleprompter- guess it worked huh? Wheeeee!
You poor suckers will be completely marginalized for the next 8 years at least.
Have fun in Siberia
This is way more fun than watching Palin humiliate herself on the tube.
Hey can anyone tell me if Obama was an affirmative action case or a legacy?
Surely someone in the media researched this.
And I’m a fellow alumni.
Al,
You “baiting” too or are you just another right-wing moron?
That’s it! a military coup to overthrow President Obama, that would be PRESIDENT OBAMA (yep, read it and get used to it).
Now there’s an idea we can all get behind. Hey CJ… could we borrow Chavez to lead it?? Can u arrange??
This is really getting too stupid…even for stupid me. Too easy. Losers.
Later numbskulls
“Why is Obama’s 20 year association in a church with Jeremiah Wright irrelevant?”
It’s not irrelevant, it’s just obviuosly not relevant enough to most people to be a serious issue.
“Why is Obama’s obvious connections to William Ayres (which have been well publicized so I won’t make the argument for the connection here) irrelevant when choosing a president ?”
Again, these connections are not irrelevant, but unfortunately for the McCain Campaign, these connections simply do not weigh on the minds of voters as other issues such as the economy, the War in Iraq and health care.
Also, bonus question- do you concur with the general public’s perception of William Ayres as a former domestic terrorist ?
I agree that he was a former domestic terrorist. But would you agree that McCain ally G. Gordon Liddy, who masterminded the Watergate break-in and admitted to conspiracy to commit the murder of a Pulitzer Prize-winning American journalist Jack Anderson, is also a former domestic terrorist?
“Why is Obama’s connections to Acorn, which is being investigated for voter fraud in 11 states currently and yesterday an former employee admitted to using Obama’s doner list to solicit donations from people who already had sent in the maximum donation, irrelevant to becoming president of the United States.”
Again, not irrelevant. But far less relevant than you think. Sure, it’s unfortunate that some employees of ACORN have not acted ethically in their positions, and those people should be penalized to the fullest extent of the law. But blaming Obama’s campaign for those few bad employees is ridiculous, as is threatening to shut ACORN down. ACORN works to register low income and minority voters. It is not the fault of the Democratic Party that low income and minority voters tend to vote Democrat.
Why do I have the suspicion that if the Republican Party had a brand that appealed to low income voters and minorities, we wouldn’t be hearing a peep out of them about ACORN fraud?
And do Republicans seriously think that they will endear themselves to minorities and low income voters by attacking the organizations like ACORN that empower those voters?
Good luck with that.
first of all, the PLO is a communist conspiracy. just one example: where did “abu mazan” earn his doctorate? go look it up.
second of all, CJ you are the man. i’ve occasionally (through girlfriends) had the chance to mingle with very recent immigrants, most of them from former Soviet Bloc countries, and they were always republicans. i never knew why (my political interest was late in blooming), but i recognize in you the same insight and industry and good humor i was so happy to meet in these good people. welcome to the usa!
as for you liberals: really, you guys have got to snap out of this thing where you spew the most wretched accusations about your opponents and then justify it by saying your opponent did it first. no, we didn’t. we call obama a communist because he is, in fact, a communist. O he’s not a bolshevik; he’s not going to machine-gun grievance petitioners on the Mall; he doesn’t intend for the USA to become a KGB state. this is true. but then – when the intellectual ground has been so thoroughly prepared, as you yourselves demonstrate, and with such powerful tools as the global media, the US Congress, the US treasury, and the US courts, why would you bother machine-gunning people?
and yet, don’t be surprised if you wake up in 5 years after the One’s re-election, and there is no more US security architecture abroad, Japan is a nuclear nation, China is in Taiwan, Russia has swallowed Ukraine and the rest of Georgia, Iran is a nuclear power, half of Israel lives underground because of daily rocket attacks….
see? and by the way, this is the president’s main responsibility – what you might refer to as “managing the figments of the rethuglicans’ imagination.” ha! we’ll see who’s trapped in their own imaginations and who is not, soon enough.
C’mon its 2 hours later. No one knows?
Affirmative action case or legacy?
Wait… wasn’t one of the cofounders of Acorn an SDS member and of course the Weatherman and SDS were related.
Well Rick, I’m with you on Elmer Fudd. It’s also refreshing to see someone over here who can actually seek out and interpret real data. So I’ll pass something along.
The most interesting site of all is the Princeton Election Consortium of Sam Wang. He tracks Electoral Votes though using the median scores of “decided” voters in the most recent State polls.
http://election.princeton.edu/
He has an absurdly simple polynomial equasion that allows the rapid calculation of the probability of every possible outcome in the Electoral College based upon the current state polls. To achieve this by the usual method of actually running as many simulations as possible would take you about 70 years.
With the method he is currently using he took the polling data from 2004 and called the Bush/Kerry EV totals on the nose. He also called a 50-50 chance of a Democratic Senate Majority in 2006, far higher than anyone else.
He updates 4 times every 24 hours and is currently calling Obama’s EV total at 367 with 311 safe. This is on the high side of most of the aggregators. I think watching how close he comes this time, compared to the other various models will be one of the most interesting things in the election.
Jason,
You do know that in order for someone to receive the title of “President” here in the United States you first have to be elected, right?
I will have no problem and reading President Obama, but that will be after Tuesday’s election and in fact he won’t be President until he takes the Oath of Office.
Oh I know Jason, to you and the rest of the Obamabots, Tuesday’s election is just a formality, if you could you would declare your god President right now, right?
I will laugh at individuals like Jason when Obama loses on Tuesday. and let us say he wins. When Jason comes knocking on the door of those right wingers that he made fun us begging for help since the Obama police is after him, like they went after Joe the Plumber, let us see how many open the door to help him out. Well, more likely than not, since we are not hatefilled individuals like Jason and other Liberals, he will be helped.
I just can’t wait to see the face of the Obamabots when Obama goes back on all of his campaign promises, of course, that is if he wins the Presidency first.

It’s not just AP…. CBS News has also provided a reality check to Obama’s infomercial:
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/10/29/eveningnews/realitycheck/main4557520.shtml
And this…. What is the new definition of rich? Families making 250K+? $200K+? Or as Joe Biden implied, $150K? How low will it go if Obama gets everything he wants? My guess on the new definition of rich –> anyone currently paying Federal income taxes.
We have a candidate who’s personal/career actions have not been transparent and with a seemingly shady background, but comes across as being an extremely eloquent and charismatic speaker, who promises all of us everything under the sun and goes out of his way to say only those things that he knows his audience wants to hear, which in this case is the American public. (e.g., during his 30 minute infomercial he changed his tax breaks for those making less than $250,000 to $200,000?).

Obama’s beloved aunt still living in the slums in Boston, his half-brother still living in a hut in Kenya, his constituents still living in poverty and in the #1 murder capital of America http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2008-10-28-hudson_N.htm…all this is symptomatic of Obama, the man – his psyche – his ambitions. He does not care about ANYONE — he only cares about HIMSELF. His constituents in the slums for years have gone without heat, and he couldn’t even tell his slumlord convicted felon buddy, Tony Rezko, who owns his constituents’ tenements to have some compassion and give them heat. Obama spends MILLIONS of dollars for one 30-minute boring, self-aggrandizing infomercial, and yet he can’t help the little people who liberals always championed in the past (at least, that’s what they always said). Obama wins the #1 HYPOCRITE OF THE WORLD award.
Steve say, “It’s not irrelevant, it’s just obviuosly not relevant enough to most people to be a serious issue.”
Wrong, the only reason that it is not in the mind of voters is because the media has refused to vet this part of Obama’s life. If the media actually did its job instead of being in the tank for Obama the Rev. Wright story would destroy Obama. But what does the media do when a McCain supporter talks about Rev. Wright, they call it dirty tactics. Unfortunately, too many Americans allow themselves to be brainwashed by the 30 minute news nightly news and the newspaper headlines that they read on their way to work.
Steve says, “Again, these connections are not irrelevant, but unfortunately for the McCain Campaign, these connections simply do not weigh on the minds of voters as other issues such as the economy, the War in Iraq and health care.”
Once again, WRONG! The only reason that it is not in the mind of Americans is because the media has refused to go after this story. Everything we know about William Ayers and his connections to Barack Obama has been brought to light by the right-wing side of the blogosphere or by Foxnews. The New York Times did a piece about a month ago or so and it wasn’t even factual.
Furthermore the so called experts on television once again claim that talking about William Ayers and his connections to Obama is dirty politics. They do this day in and day out and guess what, the American people listen. Instead if the media claimed that Ayers was fair game you as well as I know that this would be a totally different ball game.
Steve P. says, “I agree that he was a former domestic terrorist. But would you agree that McCain ally G. Gordon Liddy, who masterminded the Watergate break-in and admitted to conspiracy to commit the murder of a Pulitzer Prize-winning American journalist Jack Anderson, is also a former domestic terrorist?”
EH?!! What the hell…source, other than radical left wing nutjob sites.
Steve P. says, “Again, not irrelevant. “
Wrong, wrong, wrong…Obama gave over $800,000 in donations to an ACORN subsidiary, as well as Obama trained and gave pro bono legal services to ACORN. ACORN and Obama are attached to the hip. Incredible that you would try to claim that ACORNS shady business have nothing to do with Obama or the Democrat party.
Furthermore, as many ACORN employees are starting to testify, ACORN pushes them for minimum wage to bring back a certain amount of registration cards filled out. You know ACORN who claims to fight for the little people, for the minority, and demands that corporations give more than the minimum wage, yet it pays its hourly employees minimum wage. Nice hypocrisy, don’t you think? And yes Obama helped them.
Steve P. says, “Why do I have the suspicion that if the Republican Party had a brand that appealed to low income voters and minorities, we wouldn’t be hearing a peep out of them about ACORN fraud? “
Because you judge everyone according to how your corrupt party and your corrupt Messiah would act.
The only reason that the Republican brand does not appeal to the low income and some minorities is because you have a media that hates the Republican party and you have leaders in the low income and minority neighborhoods constantly seeding hate towards the Republican party. I have been there, I have heard it. If there was no division created, guess what, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson would be out of their millions, so would Rev. Wright! You know these individuals who live in multi-million dollar mansions and give nothing back, but hate to the community. This is the ONLY reason why the Republican brand doesn’t stick with the low income.
As not sticking with minorities, please, oh please. I am a minority and so are quite a few of my Republicans friends and it has stuck with us. We are not part of the mass thinking mentality that unfortunately is so affluent in low income and minority households. Group thinking is for the uneducated and poorly informed and the left, Liberals, Democrats, The Obamas, the Sharpton’s, the Jackson’s the Wright’s of this world take advantage of the poor and low income in America.
Question if Democrats are so much for the poor and minorities in the United States, how come there still poverity in America? How come there is still such a huge divided between races in America? Because the Democrat party needs the poor in order to be elected.
Steve P. says, “And do Republicans seriously think that they will endear themselves to minorities and low income voters by attacking the organizations like ACORN that empower those voters?”
Once again, generalizing and stereotyping. Read above, it explains your incredibly flawed type of thinking.
Mr. Moran brings up some good points, but they are nothing different that what the left wing, er, I mean main stream media is. I’m hoping Mr. McCain can accomplish this feat, but some odds are definitely making this difficult. LWMSM and beaucoup bucks, to mention two key factors. Mr. Obama will go back on a lot of what he has said, especially since he has modified his rhetoric to be more acceptable to middle of the road types and slightly moderae Dems. It’s all talk (aka lies) and I’m a’feared we’ll be stuck with quasi-Muslim/terrorist sypathizer at the helm who will sell our national security and armed forces down the river n a heartbeat. He’ll probably abandon our troops in the with no money, no support and no way to get home unless they thumb a ride. He’ll grab our guns, ban bibles and shut conservative/Christian media down in the blink of an eye. It’s not that I don’t trust him, but I don’t trust him. I expect to see J Wright in some semi-official capacity and Murderer/Traitor Ayers close behind Wright. Both of them are oxygen robbers as far as I’m concerned. At this point, I picture Messrs. Obama, Wright andAyers having a difficult time rendering an account of themselves when the time comes, and it will come, and I don’t mean an accounting with the American people, I mean the BIG accounting which we all will face. I’m not going to say they don’t have a chance, that’s not up to me, but the evidence seems to point that direction, don’t ya know. Well, I guess I’ll stock up on survival supplies and keep an eye out for plain black vehicles scoping the neighborhood shortly after the Obamanation takes hold. It ain’t gonna be safe to be a red blooded American who believes in God, individual freedom of speech/expression, freedom of religion and the right to bear arms. I am the enemy n the new USSA. My past serice as a soldier and police officer only make me moreso of an enemy (I actually served as a police officer when we fought crime and didn’t have to worry about enforcing thought control). Ah, for the good old days (with retention of progress we have made in the area of civil rights-not special privelages).
okfine…here is the math.
There are now 10% more democrats than republicans.
McCain/Palin ran on a platform of divide and conquer, ie, the two Americas.
Obama/Biden ran on a platform of unite and conquer, ie we are all in this together.
Who has the biggest slice of electoral pie available to farm for votes?
#189 Dan,
Thanks for the welcome. The thing is that i have lived through this populist election. I have lived through an election where someone that claimed to be an outsider sold Hope and Change to a nation. Where this person promised everything under the sun to get elected. Good decent, well meaning Venezuelans voted for him. And look at what the once great nation of Venezuela has become, nothing but a little Cuba.
Too many Americans are blind to what is coming. Is Obama going to be a Hugo Chavez? no, of course not, but he will diminish our freedoms. He will pass the Freedom of Choice Act, he will pass the Fairness Doctrine. I mean my goodness, just look at what happened to Joe the Plumber for asking Obama a question. Sadly enough, as it has been proven on this blog and other blogs, too many Liberals are willing to attack him for the mere fact that he asked a question that tripped up their super, duper “intelligent” candidate. They hate him with all of their might. I saw this, I saw this in Venezuela. Hate, pure and utter hate and anger from the left towards anyone that dare question Hugo Chavez. Then just like here, they would turn it around and blame the right for the left wing tactics. This is a very old thing to do and very popular thing to do in communist nations.
Obama is but the first step of what is coming. Democrats in full control of our government is an incredible disaster.
Biden, Schummer, Pelosi, Murtha, Obama, Hillary all agreed when it was the Republican party in control of government and in fact I did too. I never thought that any one party should have full control of all branches of government. Today, however, the same people that criticized the fact that one party had full control of our government are rejoicing at the fact that Democrats may obtain full control of our government.
America is different than Venezuela. We are a first rate nation, the level of education here is higher. The one down fall that I see here is that the media is incredibly Liberal and it is well known, which ever party controls the media usually wins the ideoly war.
The Conservative movement is very strong here and we have something that Liberas do not have, we have God on our side. Yes, I know, you Liberals will read this and mock it, but I don’t care. Just like the Polish people had God on their side and won over communism, we also have God in our side. If Obama wins, it will just make us that much stronger and help us purge our party from the fat aristrocats.
I see hope in this nation, a hope that I do not find in Venezuela. However, if Democrats control this nation for too long, I fear for this great nation that has given me and my familly so much under the Bush administration.
I love this country and I would proudly give my life up for it and what it stands for!
I am an immigrant and I know what it is to live in real poverity, in real fear of your life. Most if not all Liberals living in the USA live in a fantasy world. The only good think about Obama being elected President is that many of these Liberals will be waken up to reality.
God Bless America and guide her through her dark periods if Obama is elected!
upstate ny my own poll of my friends 8 white 2 black all voting for McCain & Palan but I have to admit we are all pro gun and anti abortion
“Someone should try asking McCain what kind of tax breaks he will be giving the middle-class.”
I’m wondering – who planted this idea that the middle-class is clamoring for tax breaks? It seems like a manufactured issue to me. Something the candidates tell us we’re in desperate need of, but which we can really take or leave. Seriously – I don’t like paying taxes, but taxes are not causing me to starve, either.
So why should I accede to the politicians’ attempts to bribe me with money? It just gives them more power over me.
CJ. Shut up. You contributing to global warming with all the hot air.
Teleprompter Messiah:
1) Abortion is legal and a constitutional right in the United States. That right is not confined to the first trimester. On can obtain an abortion in this country up to the time of birth without any legal impediment.
Even Palin agrees that abortion in the last trimester should be legal if it will save the mother’s life. The point is that Obama wants it to be the woman’s choice in the first trimester. After that, there are caveats to the law. Palin and McCain want abortion to be illegal unless the mother’s life is endangered.
You forget that, under Reagan, the national debt ballooned and we also had a much bigger problem with inflation. Then the market “adjusted” near the end of George Bush Sr’s presidency. Industrial production and manufacturing-trade sales had decreased by early 1991, three years after Reagan left office, and that led to a recession. ‘Trickle down’ presumes that the wealthy will generate productivity and jobs, which will then benefit the lower-income strata. That hasn’t been the case for the last decade. Even Adam Smith acknowledged that greed can be a negative factor as wealth accrues to the upper class. Wealth has been going into CEO’s pockets while their companies have been failing, because George Bush’s tax cuts for the rich and de-regulation have encouraged it. Wealth is concentrated in the hands of too many people who contribute almost nothing to the economy, so trickle down is no longer trickling.
3) We spend more on educating people than Europeans or the Japanese yet our outcomes are worse. It ain’t money that is hurting us in the education department. Its the education establishment, to whom is wed the Democrat party.
Our outcomes are worse, because the presidents haven’t listened to educators. For education to improve, there needs to be good teachers, and we’ll never have that unless they’re paid better. The education established is a mess, too, because it’s become too politicized and vulnerable to cuts at the local level. There are a whole bunch of reasons that our kids aren’t getting the best education and, of the two candidates, Obama is the only one who has even talked about it.
Not even clever.
CJ –
You got it.
The lower 60% of income earners (about a 50k cutoff) pay only 1% of income taxes while the top 3.3% pay 58% of all taxes.
Yet the left carps about tax cuts for the wealthy.
You can’t cut taxes for the poor anymore. They don’t pay any. And that’s before you factor in their benefits.
The Obama tax cut which the media didn’t accurately report on is a 6.2% (equal to Employees or Employers contribution to SS) up to $8,000. Well people making anywhere close to that are paying no taxes already and after EIC and other credits already are in a negative tax situation where they get money back from the IRS instead of paying.
His tax cut is just more welfare. It turns SS into another redistribution scheme (it is a tolerably mild one now – the real problem is its a ponzi scheme).
Obamas and liberals are just buying votes as their party stands for nothing.
It is a coalition of people with nothing in common. Except the money they leech out of the system.
Wealth did not accrue to CEOs because of Bush. Some earned it. The ones that didn’t earn it – still benefited because of lack of proper oversight by their boards and sharholders. They are the ones that should be concerned not the general public.
What difference is it to you if shareholders of a company are stupid and over pay a CEO?
In fact, in most cases it was really a poorly designed incentive plan where heads they get payed big and tails they don’t lose.
If they had stock option plans that slowly vested and/or clawback provisions – you wouldn’t see CEOs get wealthy from companies that fail soon after.
But that is a shareholder and board matter. Not taxpayers.
It is only a taxpayer matter because sleazy democrats like Obama and Rahm Emmanuel fan class warfare flames. There is no taxpayer econmic interest in it.
If the companies paid the CEO less, the company would pay more tax on that money. If they pay the CEO more money the company pays less and the CEO pays more.
IF they care about CEO salaries, they should care about entertainer salaries.
Especially entertainers who benefit from the use of the public airwaves.
Which Clinton gave the new digital TV spectrun to existing media companies for free instead of an auction.
Hmmm now talk about a conflict of interest.
JohnRJ08:
Because of Roe v. Wade abortion is wide open in this country. It does not matter what any politician thinks about restrictions because it is a constitutional right. Ergo, it cannot be restricted. The woman’s “right to choose” extends to killing her child up to the third trimester if she so chooses.
The essential question that we face in matters economic is whether we want growth or not. If you disincentiveize people, you will get less of something. I work with small business owners. To account for the enormous risk that an investor assumes with respect to a new venture, the reward must be within a certain range. If we raise the cost of that risk by reducing the reward, then we will get less risk taking and new businesses. Because money is fungible and we live in a global economy, that money will go where that reward is greater. The net result is that we get less economic activity in this country.
Spreading the wealth earned by others for consumption will only spur the economy temporarily. The well is not infinite. It will run dry.
In any event, philosophically you are taking the position that the bastards deserve to be soaked because they are “rich”. What has stopped Mrs. Obama from paying all of her pay above $250K to the feds. According to you, she’s rich and deserves her comeuppence. As well, Barack knows better than her how that greedy lucre is to be spent to provide “opportunities”.
NO PLAY MONEY FOR SOCIAL ENGINEERS please.
If 0bama does not win by huge numbers in the popular vote, it will be a HUGE defeat for the left.
President Bush has had 8 tough years fighting our enemies, the weather, the hate filled anti-American left, and the agenda driven dishonest MSM. This gets put on McCain because he is a Republican.
Then you have the HUGE lead in funds for Obama after he lied about not opting out of the public system. Not to mention a large chuck of which could have and probably did come from illegal foreign sources and illegal end runs around contribution limits.
Add to that we have a sycophantic, dishonest, and uncritical press coverage – starting with their failure to cover Obama’s extreme background and associations, their smears campaign of Gov Palin, and their complete lack of coverage of idiot-Joe Biden.
And yet, we are sitting here a few days before the election with a close election. This Dem ticket is is just as sorry as the last 2.
Gonna be an interesting election.
Joseph Marshall:
This election, more than any other, has doctored polls. The state polls are doctored, too. So, the basis of the Princeton analysis is doctored information. Garbage in. Garbage out.
All of us McCain supporters are voting no matter what!
If anything, we McCain supporters are even more determined to get ourselves and our friends to the polls. Thank you liberals for adding fuel to our voting power.
You people are scary, hateful and deceitful. I do believe the FAT lady is behind “Joe the idiot” singing already. Have fun in your misery.
The Princeton analysis and others like it which run huge numbers of computer simulations based on polls only tell you what you can see with the naked eye–that the polls favor Obama. But you’re in effect running projections of outcomes that are based on data which is ALREADY cycled through theoretically-based projection models.
It’s like running computer simulations of football games (something I’ve done). Manually enter data which holds that one team is up by a touchdown with 90 seconds left in the game, and then run dozens of computer-controlled simulations. The team that was ahead at the beginning–according to the data you inputted–will almost always still be ahead at the end, with rare exceptions.
This tells you nothing, however, about the veracity of your original data as compared to a real-life situation. An actual football game, unlike an election, has a real and verifiable score, one that isn’t subject to anyone’s “theories” about who the players are, how many of them have taken the field, and how many points they might have scored according to your best guesses.
JohnJR08 says, “Our outcomes are worse, because the presidents haven’t listened to educators. Wow…you are joking right John? you are kidding. I know you would love to shut me up, but the only thing that will shut me is when you stop posting your lies.
Obama took money from the teachers union, he endorsed the teacher unions and the teachers union endorse him. This union is the true problem with education. Bad teachers can’t be fired, they oppose vouchers, they oppose anything that will weaken the teachers union.
As for Abortion, please Obama IS for abortion from the moment of conception until the second before the baby will be born. Not only is he for the murder of the baby in the womb of the mother, as a State Senator in Illinois he refused to vote for a bill that would have forced doctors to save any baby that was born alive from a botch abortion. Yes, I know Obama’s claim now of why he didn’t vote for this bill, but these are half truths and all lies.
I mean this imbecile claims that he is an outsider, the fool has been in the United States Senate for at least two years….what has he done to improve American policies and laws?
I am still waiting for all those bills that he co-wrote, sponsored, etc that went against the Democrat party establishment, even show me ten bills that were significant.
Obama is not smart, he is good used car salesmen and only the easily fooled fall for this used car salesmen.
but c’mon John, show me all the extensvie bills that Obama wrote, co-sponsor, etc that will show he is a bipartisan, experience Senator. tick, tock, tick, tock…..
I know you Liberals don’t like to be challanged.
Polls schmolls. Obama outspending Mac by a couple hundred million per month. The Bush factor. Media in the tank for Obama. Blacks overwhelming voting for Obama. And the poles are tightening. Factor in the primaries, Obama could not close the deal against Hillary, and without the Super delegates would not have won. Democrats voting against Obama. The Puma’s (God love em) working harder for Mac then Acorn’s corruption can balance. Tighten your belts. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.
“That woman” did not hurt McCain because of “smears.” She did it all on her own.
I was a McCain supporter, until he chose Palin. Thought maybe the comment about “water under the bridge” was a reference to the “Bridge to Nowhere,” which she lied about supporting.
The woman is a phony. She lies, gets caught and just keeps lying. It is inexcusable!
I took the time to dig back into the Alaska press and check out her history, rather than being spoon fed her stories about herself, her “accomplishments,” her “experience” and her “values.”
I watched the videos of her debates when she was running for Governor of Alaska and the videos of her activities and appearances in her various churches and addressing the AIP.
No “smears” turned me off on her, my research of her record did, including the way she handled the sports arena and other business in her hometown, and her appointments as Governor.
Add to that her smarmy behavior, incoherent speech, lack of knowledge & shameless attacks.
McCain more than once has had to contradict her over the top accusations against Obama.
I am embarrassed for McCain & no way do I want than woman anywhere the Oval Office.
Yeah, he lost A LOT of independent white women voters, when he stooped to such a dumb stunt.
Although I strongly favor one candidate over the other, I really can live with either one winning. There are enough institutional checks and balances to prvent either one from going too far off the reservation. However, I do want to see one or the other win with a wide enough margin so that the issues of Republican suppressing votes and Democrats voting early, often, and under frauldulent pretenses cannot be considered a factor. I don’t want to see another 4 years of a presidency haunted and hounded by irregularities amplified by a very close election. I hope all you bloggers see the point.
RNC and mccain have MORE money than Obama
and then the 527s Abortion, NRA are spending even more.
acordn is a great organization and had done nothing wrong!
prove otherwise you GDMF Liars/
How have the American people got to where they are today? How, in the 7 lean years since 9/11, has the USA squandered the worldwide outpouring of sympathy and support that the tragedy engendered? How was it that, when America most needed leadership and vision, all it got was Bush and Cheney? What determined that the strike on the Pentagon came just close enough to shake up Rumsfeld, while leaving him to become a potent, if unintentional, missionary for Al Qaida – a precision surgical strike if ever there was one? Why, in 2004, did 62 million Americans vote for Bush and self destruction like Gadarene swine?
Could all this have been coincidence, the working of chance? Those with faith will see evidence of divine intervention (Intelligent Design, if you like) – the hand of God punishing his people or of Allah in support of his fundamentalists. And now what will happen in this election? Will someone lead the American people out of their Republican Babylon, or will they continue to reap the whirlwind from the wind that they have sown?
This race has been over since the end of the primaries in June, and it has been obvious to me that McCain will win the election in a landslide of electoral votes. Hillary exposed Obama for what he is. A great many democrats see Obama just like conservatives do, and are voting country before party. These are facts, not opinion. As to my opinion, McCain will win every 2004 Red state including Ohio, plus Pennsylvania & New Hampshire for sure. That represents around 300 electoral votes, more that enough to win easily. In addition, I expect McCain may win Wisconsin & Michigan, maybe even New Jersey and Washington state. This sounds implausible only because the MSM & polls have everybody convinced Obama has it won. We all know the MSM is biased, and the polls are about GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out) Democrats are not telling pollsters that they are voting for McCain. The democrats are split and America is blessed because of it.
nlcatter, I’ve changed my mind. You’re not a dupe like I thought. You’re a whacko. regards

If your new Messiah wins, check back in three months and see if the hearts of our enemies have softened.
Omaba Supporters, you are delusional if you believe that anti-Americanism will evaporate with his election.
Until yesterday, when I attended McCain’s rally in my hometown of Defiance, OH, I was undecided. After hearing him speak and after feeling the energy he put forth–even for a man in his seventies!–I made up my mind to vote for McCain/Palin (even though I’m not totally sold on Palin). I wanted to hear more from real americans who believe in McCain and (hopefully) to add credence to my decision from what I hear those voices say. Then I came across this site and the name-calling, closed-minded perspective of CJ, and my heart sank. Now, I realize saying this will make me a target of her wrath (or is it a he? Doesn’t matter, really). But what kind of mud do you sling at an undecided voter who finally makes a decision to support a true American hero, like John McCain, then upon reading the mouth-frothing slander of one like CJ makes me begin to question the validity (and sanity) of such decision? Because of people like CJ (and she is not alone–on either side of the ticket) I am back to an undecided state. This sucks, to be honest with you.
So go ahead, CJ. Sling away. Call me “wishy-washy,” “flip-flopper,” “nitwit,” even “stupid-unintelligent-MORON-imbecile.” Maybe she (or he) can label me an “Obamabot” (as if there is no such thing as a Palinbot or a McCainbot), or a Socialist-Pinko-Commie-Fag, if that makes her feel better, but it does nothing to spread a positive message about those who supposedly speak for the man–no, the GREAT AMERICAN–I saw yesterday, who got everyone to raise their hands as “Joe the Plumber.” I think CJ needs a plumber, because her pipes are full of sh . . . I mean, feces.
I now return to my quest for rational, intelligent debate. I wonder if this means she will call me a coward and disparage me for running away. So be it. I’ll lay odds she doesn’t have the ability to use a real-world, reasoned argument to sway anyone, particularly the undecided.

“This election, more than any other, has doctored polls. The state polls are doctored, too. So, the basis of the Princeton analysis is doctored information. Garbage in. Garbage out.”
Look, Therese, polling is a business. They don’t do this just for our entertainment in election years, they sell their skills to private companies doing market research. Go to the poll sites, spend a little time on their home pages rather than with their numbers, and anyone with sense will see what I mean.
A Presidential election is the polling equivalent of television ads at the Super Bowl. The polls might be wrong, but no professional pollster is going to cut his own marketing throat by deliberately making them wrong. They are not only advertising their skills to businesses across the country, they are also advertising their integrity.
In fact, they are desperately trying to get them right, so that they can advertise themselves for the next four years as the pollster who called the 2008 results most closely.
Some of the largest pollsters, like Rassmussen, Gallup, or Zogby do election polling as a business expense, just like the companies who buy Super Bowl ads. Others contract with news outlets and are paid.
The only people who can afford to pay for these hundreds of polls over the last six months are news organizations. They are businesses, too, so when you see USAToday/Gallup, FOX News/Opinion Dynamics, The Economist/YouGov, or National Journal/AllState, the news organization’s name is on the poll and their reputation is on the line as well as the pollster’s.

From Rush Limbaugh’s radio show …..
You are aware, probably, that Barack Obama lost his bearings recently and said that he was going to campaign in all 57 states. You heard this? And most everybody chalked it up to, ‘Well, he’s tired.’You know, this is a Dan Quayle moment. I mean, Dan Quayle goes out there and misspells ‘potato,’ and we still hear jokes about it. Barack Obama says he’s gonna go out and campaign in 57 states! He was just tired, you know, it’s been such a long campaign, he’s been so many places, he probably thinks there are 57 states. Well, I have here a printout from a web site called the International Humanist and Ethical Union. ‘Every year from 1999 to 2005 the organization of the Islamic conference representing the 57 Islamic states presented a resolution to the United Nations Commission on human rights called commbating.’
Obama said he’s going to campaign in 57 states, and it turns out that there are 57 Islamic states.
So did Obama just lose his bearings, or was this a more telling slip, ladies and gentlemen?
KEEP IT GOING, FOLKS! Our future is at stake…Make no mistake about it.

Arnold: Rush Limbaugh lives alone on a gated compound far away from anyone who could possibly be called a Joe-Sixpack, “average working American”. Each morning, he is chauffeured to his radio studio, another cloistered compound, during which time he spends his entire day isolated in a booth. The only time that Rush Laimbaugh ever interacts with average folks is when he takes their calls in the seclusion of his studios. He never has to look them in the eye. He can cut them off at any time. At the end of yet another day of total isolation from everyday American life, Rush is then chauffeured home to his mansion compound, where he lives alone with his cats, completely unaware of what it means to be part of an average American working family.
Boy, most of you writers and bloggers appear to have the brains of a brick! You are so use to the lies of Bush, Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld and Limbaugh that you actually believe the louder you yell and the more you say it … the truer it is. Wake up people! The neo-cons have taken this country to the brink of destruction and McCain’s blatant attempt to shore up the party by jumping into bed with the religious right would be the last nail in the coffin. Thank God, yes, I did say God … there is only the merest shred of a possibility that this could happen. Barring, of course, the possibility that the Repubs. want to attempt to steal another U.S. election. So much for the land of the Free! And while you’re at it… drop the psuedo “patriot” talk, look up the definiton before you spout off.
Guess I’ll put my 2 cents into this too. McCain DOES have a chance. on election day, the old fears and prejudices will come out of the woodwork against Obama (i.e. the “N” factor). Even Sarah Palin’s obvious inadequacies will be overlooked. After all, who really is running things in government on aday to day basis? The
beaurocrats and techonocrats, that’s who.
In order to believe that Sarah Palin is even close to being qualified to serve as vice president, much less president, you have to be operating on pure ideology and zero pragmaticism. One has to wonder what a candidate would have to do in order to look incompetent to some voters. Anybody who has an ounce of understanding of the world outside of her own state, which ranks 48th in total population, would not have performed as embarrassingly as Palin did in her network interviews. Her behavior in the campaign since those disastrous interviews has revealed a mean-spirited, sarcastic ideologue who could not care less about the divisiveness of her remarks. Some of this I put on John McCain, since it is his campaign, but Palin delivers her McCarthyesque assaults with a little too much giddy pleasure. For somebody who promotes herself as an outsider who is going to reform Washington, she sounds remarkably similar to the partisan insiders she apparently loathes. If, by some miracle, she were to end up in the White House, how could she possibly work with the people “across the aisle” whom she has ridiculed and attacked for the last 2 months? This is just one reason why a vote for McCain/Palin is vote for more of the same, and a grid-locked government.
Mangifique, Monsieur Moran! Even a weaselly, cheese-eating, french, surrender-monkey like mois couldn’t have laid down with my legs in the air and surrendered with more grace than you did here.
Bravo, Monsieur!
McCain/Palin 2008 – Palin/Jindal 2012
YEEEE-HAAAAWW!!!
Bringing Palin in was a cynical political ploy meant to bring the Republican “base” onboard because that base of voters didn’t think McCain was conservative enough. Even the RNC admits that. Unfortunately, the entire campaign seems to have targeted that right wing GOP base, which doesn’t even deliver enough votes to win the election. What it has done is generate a despicably negative and divisive campaign that has done a lot of damage to our electoral process. It will also impact the atmosphere in Congress after the election at a time when we need these people to work in unison to solve the country’s terrible problems. In that respect, the McCain/Palin campaign has been colossally irresponsible and anything but “Country First.” The voters who constitute the Republican base are the most anti-progressive, ideology-driven people in the country. When you don’t have the tools to understand the complexity of the issues, it’s easy to plug in your political commandments and think they’ll provide an answer for everything. These are people who aren’t satisfied with living their own lives as they see fit (like many of those participating in this blog). They insist that everybody else live exactly as they do and follow their rules, which are mostly driven by their religious beliefs and limited life experience. Anything else spells doom for the country. This is why Sarah Palin frightens so many people and why John McCain will lose this election. Even conservative pundits admit that the country has shifted to the left since 9/11. The more obstinate cave-dwellers of the far right are going to be sitting on the sidelines until they come out into the daylight and accept that they’re living in the 21st century rather than the early 1950′s. Stomp your feet and shout insults all you like, change is inevitable.
CJ, your statement is not a fact, but merely your personal opinion. And frankly, it makes you sound ignorant and small-minded.
CJ small minded? Ignorant? Naw! He’s just a proud Republican.
CONCLUSION:
Barack Obama’s Radical Left connections and his relation to the Cloward Piven strategy are inexorably linked Obama is related to too many radical individuals and organizations to include them all here, but this paper lists perhaps the most significant.
Barack Obama at the epicenter of an incestuous stew of American radical leftism. Not only are his connections significant, they practically define who he is. Taken together, they constitute a who’s who of the American radical left, and guiding all is the Cloward-Piven strategy. Obama’s associates are all radicals, firmly bedded in the anti-American, communist, socialist, radical leftist mesh. Obama is associated with black separatist liberation ideologues, domestic terrorists, Palestinian radicals, Kenyan mass murderers of Christians, and both Moist and Marxist communist radicals. Although Obama now tries to distance himself from them, now that he is running for president, they were all his mentors, allies, friends, contributors, associates and supporters. They befriended him… and he befriended and socialized with them back.
The public knows next to nothing about them, and this is quite alarming considering that the Media is not doing the necessary work to expose them. To examine these relationships is not smearing, it speaks to his true intentions and ideological perspectives. Barack Obama, the Cloward-Piven candidate, no matter how he describes himself, has been a radical activist for most of his political career. That activism has been in support of organizations and initiatives that at their heart seek to tear the pillars of this nation asunder in order to replace them with their demented socialist vision. Their influence has spread so far and so wide that despite their blatant culpability in the current financial crisis, Capital Hill politicians now claim to be able to fix the problem with HOPE AND CHANGE.

here’s one about the polls. all polls are called to land line phones. how many 18-25 year olds have a land line. I guess not many. most 18-25 group are for Obama. so I would give Obama one point more than the polls say. just a thought.

Over on your item about “Obama Will Be My President”, I mentioned something about your desire to keep up the good fight via your ‘web-presence’. I suggested that your ‘web-presence’ could well be endangered by The One terminating your access to the web. Or, if you were hitting too close to the truth, you might have your computer confiscated.
Seems like I’m not alone in my concern about The One…..

OhioAmerican:
Obama is rich. His books made him rich. He has amassed a fortune. Right now, he never need work again.
Now, at the same time this occurred did Obama voluntarily pay over to the federal government any amounts other than that required by law? No. He kept it. What a selfish bastard.
However, Obama wants you to give him the authority on November 4 to force others as fortunate as he to forgo more of their earnings. He wants to do this so he can spend their money on his social engineering plans. Its only fair.
Ask yourself, if Obama is rich, why hasn’t he used his fortune to create opportunities for others? After all, spreading the wealth around is good in his eyes. How come he didn’t spread it around by giving it to bureaucrats when he had the opportunity?
Answer: All animals are equal, some more equal than others. Racist.
Soon all this will be a moot point. Obama is a sneeze away from his date with destiny and there is little, thankfully, that the American right can do about it.
Yes, Obama will be the first Afro-American president, but that isn’t as important as the fact that he will simply be president, thus ending the eight year strangle hold the GOP has had on power.
And in this election of firsts, it is ironic to reflect that Jack Robinson the first black man to play major league baseball was a Republican.
Now, Jack’s party loyalty wasn’t so much portent of the political future as it was a throw back to the days when blacks voted-if they could, in block for the party of Lincoln.
Things changed with the New Deal of course, but the fact is that the Republican party once featured progressive factions that today either simply no longer exist or have gone underground.
Jack Robinson was an ally of Nelson Rockefeller, the leader of the moderate New York wing of the GOP which featured men such as Javits and Keating. They were the Eastern elite and did not bow to the whims of the “beast” as America’s original Tory Alexander Hamilton probably would have dubbed the followers of the Palins.
Today, however, the Republican’s are beholden to a “base” that often seems to have only one foot out of the cave and spends a lot of its time conversing with God.
As a result, the Republicans are prisoners of “a can’t live with them can’t live without them logic” that forced John McCain to choose Sara Pali against his better judgement to be his running mate.
There were many better choices. For example, the two senators from Maine, Collins and Snow, both of whom claim to be throw backs to the days of Chase Smith immediately come to mind.
But clearly, as so goes Maine so goes the Union no longer carries the day. In fact if it does, McCain is a cooked goose because Maine is voting Democrat with the rest of New England.
Obama is going to be president and there is no way around it. The right won’t accept it but moderate Republicans have an opportunity to take their party back. However, I doubt that will happen. And then watching Powell, Brooks, Hagel turning against the base I could be wrong. It might just be a good time to be a pink elephant.
I believe at the end of the Day Obama will win the presidential election because Americans a re struggling to survive and Obama represents a fresh face and attitude.Let’s face facts here and not emotion our economy is in the landfill ,there are almost no jobs to be had here or anywhere else for that matter.People can not even afford food to feed themselves now let alone keep a roof over their heads. The only other time in history this has occurred was in the great depression tipped off by guess who? Wall Street the same jokers responsible for todays economy! the bailout plan only assured that the Ultra Wealthy will get even more Wealth in their pockets.97% of poor and working class Americans did not want the bailout yet the McCain and his Cronies doggedly filibustered the senate until it was passed. The Losers in the bailout:” We the People” and lest we forget it is a Global we the people that were dealt the blow of destruction from the bailout. The Wealthy Wall Street Crowd is having Caviar and Dom Perignon while we the people are scrounging around in Old Mother Hubbards Cupboard hoping to find a forgotten bread crust to fill our stomach for the day.For Families With Children that bread crust is expected to feed the entire table for the day. McCain has not answered the fundamental question most of us have .Where is Tommorows Breadcrust coming from?Frankly I don’t give a rats behind who Obama has talked to in the past, nor do I care who McCain has talked to in the past what I do care about is having a meal in my stomach,a roof over my head and employment. all things that are in grave jeopardy for me. My husband isnt working and can’t find a job inspite of turning in applications everywhere,I am on medical leave unpaid of course ,we have no food in my house and will undoubtedlty be evicted at the end of the day.Medical insurance what a joke I have none.I want change and for me at least Obama is giving an Answer to the fundamental issue that I am facing.Sarah Palin was the worst possible choice McCain could have made this is a woman who happily billed the taxpayers of Alaska $21,000.00 for her daughters travel expenses to events they were not even invited to and the taxpayers of Alaska are being told that they are “expected” to fork over even more money for the first class accomodations for the children who were not invited nor did they serve any representative role and in fact left the host’s of said events scrambling to accomodate the uninvited guests.Ishudder to think how much we the people will have to pay for Sarah Palins Family to travel first class on AirForce One to events they should not be at as they have no representative value. It must be nice to have “free first class” travel and hotels when most of us are lucky if we can afford a gallon of gas to look for a job that does not exist. It these things that sent Me to vote for Obama.Until Palin was announced as the VP candidate I was on the fence did not know which way I was going to vote .Palin has had an effect on the vote for me she pushed me straight into voting for an unknown Junior Senator Barack Obama.
FINAL CONCLUSION:
After 8 long and dismal years of one of the worst administrations in American history, during which we witnessed:
1. The erosion of civil rights,
2. The crass and unconstitutional politicization of the Justice Department,
3. A war that was begun for fictitious reasons that continues to waste the precious lives of courageous young American soldiers and has no end in sight or no clear parameters for victory,
4. An economic crisis that is the direct result of the complete an utter failure of ideals and practices of deregulations trickle-down economics, which defined the Republican economic philosophy,
5. The complete failure of the Federal Government to sufficiently assist the victims of Hurricane Katrina,
voters of all backgrounds, parties, classes and ages have come to the clear realization that the Republican Party in its current form is incapable of providing meaningful leadership or even the simplest of services. And it is clear that a vote for John McCain will simply be a continuation of this current horrendous leadership and policymaking, as McCain has yet to show how he will govern differently than Bush has on the major issues that most voters care about.
Conversely, Barack Obama has rallied those millions upon millions of voters with the simple and clear message that government ought to work for the majority of Americans, not for just the top 2 or 3% of the wealthiest among us. He has laid out clear plans for a progressive taxation system like the system imposed during the Clinton Presidency, an era during which the middle class grew robustly, resulting in tremendous growth in the economy.
Finally, Obama has run a primarily honorable and decent campaign, in stark contrast to the campaign of McCain, which has focused primarily on immature name calling, character attacks and slander which has tarnished MCCain’s image and has only caused more independents and Republicans to come to the realization that Obama truly is the better and more qualified candidate.
When it comes down to the issues that truly matter, the overwhelming majority of voters know that Barack Obama is far and away the man for the job.
Which is precisely why on November 5th, people across the United States and the world will wake up to the following headline:
OBAMA WINS IN HISTORIC LANDSLIDE VICTORY
Steve P.
So Obama’s past and present HIDDEN acquaintances and affiliations don’t fall into play here? Why? Because he will fix the economy and we will all be rich? How naive can people be? Should we all run and vote for him just because he’s black and the first Afro-American to run for President?
Pardon my candor….But Bulls hit!!! Obama is a Wolfe in sheep’s clothing and he has pulled the wool over all you Obama fanatics’.
I pray my friend that you are wrong and on November 5th and the headlines don’t read
OBAMA WINS IN HISTORIC LANDSLIDE VICTORY
But if they do …rest assured that shortly thereafter headlines will read
WHO”S SORRY NOW!
This election reminds me of when Dinkens ran and won for mayor in NYC. Everyone thought he was the “Second Coming of Christ” and guess what? He did absolutely nothing for NYC. It was one of the worst times in NY history.

How is it that of all the people that could run for President, the Democrats pick a man that has no, no experience, no back bone, no military experience, two years of government experience, and tells everybody that he can actually do something about things he, as president, has no way to control? Then we have an experienced man that the Republicans pick that mostly votes with his counterparts, the Democrats? Yet, he is more experienced, has backbone, has a track record, has little connection to President Bush [which has been an AWESOME President, which most are too blinded to see]. Obama grew up as a Muslim, because both of his fathers were Muslim. Yet, even according to Muslims, Obama couldn’t be a “good” Muslim. However, Obama calls himself a Christian, yet goes against the Bible at any turn for a vote.
Which person would be “better” as president? The man, John McCain – it is clear, unless you get hypnotized by Obama. Obama’s words, if actually listened to, makes a person wonder why anyone would actually believe his “dreams” to give money and jobs out of thin air (or hot air).
I have always remembered, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. Obama tickles your ears. If that’s the kind of President America wants, then the Media has done a Great Job getting him to that place, but it is still up to Americans to Stand Up and VOTE for a Better President.
even better.
Obama 08
I’m conservative, not insane
The election is over, and suprise surprise, the Republicans won. Again. Because they cheated. Again. Why vote when the Republican control of the companies that make the voting machines already showed they were skewed, counting 2 votes for every 1 for the opponent’s? Who cares what the polls say: we’ll find a way to disenfranchise the voters, redistribute results, or just declare a winner before the counts were even in. Election theft is old news, and the Republican party is master of it.
That said, I wish McCain would win fair and square, I believe he’d be a better President than Obama, by virtue of being more midline and a realist as far as the war goes. Obama’s foreign policy is dead on, his Iraq war policy of an ordered withdrawal of troops will do more to save the economy in the short term than any of the five year protracted conflict(s) predicted by McCain. The ongoing war will cost the nation more and more and more, and in more than cash costs: the social costs of it will be felt for a century.
I believe McCain would not be toeing his party line as far as other things were concerned, however, and maybe even followed some of Obama’s very well-thought out economic policies. Regardless of the label you put on it, a tax hike for the 1.5% of the wealthiest citizens (earning more than 250k a year: yes, people it’s demographically 1.5 % of the US population…) would contribute to making sure everyone’s children were fed, and everyone’s granny had the social security she had earned. Maybe even contribute to beating down health insurance costs.
McCain’s plans called for everyone to get a break, but didn’t say who would pay for those breaks. And when they don’t say, it means the lil guy pays. The lil guy meaning 98.5 percent of the population of this great country. That is every last one of you reading this. (Actual rich people don’t have time to read anonymous commentary on a right wing “news” site’s opinion columns…)
Property taxes, sales taxes, income taxes, inheritance taxes, tariffs and duties on imports, customs on exports… you pay and pay and pay, and the people who reap all your cash, get a tax CREDIT for taking their manufacturing overseas, as well as much fatter profits by exploiting child and slave labour, and less regulation of their product’s ingredients and methods of manufacturing. They get to make more money per pair of Nikes or per Accura.
Maybe everyone screaming about socialism should take a step back and consider: their citizenry might not love Obama so much if they hadn’t been feeling the bite of so much social injustice.
By all means, share the wealth, since that wealth was ripped from the pockets of the hardest working generation in US history (actual man hours far exceed any other period: due to the NECESSITY of a dual earner income family to even make payments on a home…) by an unconstitutional and illegal “income tax”.

I have never seen so many intellectually challenged people on one post.
Joe Radmacher, i.e. Joe-the-Truthteller… That’s right. A lot of people have accepted all of the innuendo and guilt-by-association tactics of the McCain/Palin ticket. A lot of people thought Joe McCarthy was a hero, too, because he always dug up the “truth” about those commie bastards who were making movies and writing books. You read words here like “Obamabot”, written by people who themselves have accepted the programming they’ve heard or read about Obama for one simple reason: he’s a black man. Saints preserve us, we can’t allow a negro to take over this great country of ours, so we cling to every single piece of disinformation that is fed to us by Karl Rove, Rush Limbaugh, and Sarah Palin. There is no logic that can be used with these folks, Joe, because they’re operating on pure adrenaline, just like any other lynch mob. There’s no thoughtful consideration of the opposing view. No healthy skepticism. Just angry epithets and insults. Obama is a socialist, communist, Muslim, anti-American with terrorist sympathies who wants Israel destroyed because he hates Jews. Of course, not one word of that is true, but it has been stitched together and dumped out like raw sewage by the most despicable, dishonorable presidential campaign in U.S. history. So, if you don’t like Obama, you can pick from this buffet of ‘red meat’ scatia and gorge yourself on hate. That’s what it’s about here. You can see it in many of the posts. It’s disgusting and disappointing.

Let’s ELECT John McCain … Commander-In-Chief of the United States.
I knew right-wing crazies live in FantasyLand, but I never knew how much until i read the responses to Rick Moran’s clear-sighted piece. Well, you all will collide with reality on Tuesday.
Zogby’s single day polling on Nov 1st gives Obama a 10 point lead……52 to 42. With 3 days away………and a strong surge in a poll like that After i watched that infomercial i knew it was over.
you guys are too biased and your thinking is clouded…..can you not understand that after your party completey bankrupted the country in the last 8 years that people want to throw the bums out? Bush took the national debt from 5.5 trillion dollars to $11 trillion. Americans each own $85,000 in foreign debt thanks to George Bush and you can’t understand how 55 % of the people want to vote for Barack Obama?
I’m a conservative which means I’m a realist. I’m glad that somebody had the guts to call it straight without any BS. When I go to the doctor, I don’t need him to tell me what I want to hear. I need the truth.
And at least Rick Moran calls it like it is. I don’t need to be coddled and I don’t need sugar coating. And I don’t need someone insulting my intelligence, telling me McCain is going to “come back”. This isn’t a 9th inning rally. This isn’t a game. This is real life.
Look at the polls people. We can insist they’re all lying. Well, what about Fox? Are they lying too? McCain is losing in so many Bush states. Does anyone expect him to come back and win them all, right across the board? It’s crazy.
And it’s not just the polls. My friends and family who voted for Bush both times, are now about 50-50 for BHO over McCain. My friends at work now make “Palin Jokes”. People were laughing at me for insisting that McCain would win, even three or four weeks ago.
It feels to me like ’92, when lots of people I knew were announcing plans to vote for Clinton. I was shocked. It was like “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”. This year, it seems even worse.
It’s time to focus on the future. Let’s get Congress back in 2010. I’ll vote for McCain, of course, but I’m not in fantasy land. If you don’t believe me, look at this. It’s not pretty:

All partisans are entitled to their angst and determined hope. In a contest as important as this one the supporters of either candidate have a right to feel deeply about their candidate and his campaign.
Anyone opposed to Bush-Cheney has been living with one stolen election and another incredibly close election and feels morosely vindicated at the disaster of the last 8 years. Whatever nightmares conservatives ideologues have about Obama I say buck up, you shoved Bush-Cheney down our throats for 8 years and look what you gave us.
Suck it up. You blew it and wrecked the country. Now it’s time to let the Democrats have a crack at fixing this mess and getting on with some solutions to the array of problems besetting us. If they can’t make that happen then you’ve got a chance to wage your case again in 4 years. I hope by then you’ve come up with an ideology and plan that gives us something to truly consider.
Benjamin:”Suck it up. You blew it and wrecked the country. Now it’s time to let the Democrats have a crack at fixing this mess and getting on with some solutions to the array of problems besetting us.”

Already Barack Hussein Obama is speaking of Militant Groups that we the people can start up to protect ourselves from terrorist. My questions about this are many. Who will would head groups?
