The outcome of this crisis in Sweden has momentous repercusions throughout the Western world. Either we will give in and ultimately lose our advanced Western culture to an inferior and backward-looking form of barbarism, or we will finally bite the nail and fight back.

It is simply civilization vs. barbarism. Which do you prefer?

I'm starting to get it. Free speech means prohibiting speech. Respect us means obey us. Dialogue means listen. What we have here is a failure to communicate. Until the Swedish (and other) governments announce very clearly what rights and freedoms really mean, Qutbists will continue to think that these perversions of terms are true. The idea that they will gradually come over and assimilate to the western understanding of these terms if we just apply gentle persuasion has no basis empirically.

Just wondering…

Has anyone asked them whether, in this idea of No Offending Anything Sacred, whether this would mean that any denial that Israel is the Holy Land of the Jews offend Judaism and therefore illegal? It is, after all, rather explicit in the Jewish religion, what with covenant, promised land, God leading them through the desert yada yada yada.

Or does the Muslim pendulum swing in only one direction?

Why don’t I think today’s radical Islamic contingent will go for deleting the “literal word of God” that way ?

Sounds just like the Left’s call in the US for laws against “hate speech”

(gee, I guess Muslims would be banned from referring to Jews as “apes and pigs”)

That said, the Swedish artist’s act of drawing that particular cartoon seems like gratuitous incitement.
