Standing Up for Our Future
Our quest to promote the voices of the next generation already has started on the right foot. We launched a contest to come up with a logo for this initiative. A design created by a 16-year-old male from Arizona won overwhelmingly. We couldn’t be more proud of his hard work, and we’re thrilled to have a logo designed by one of the people we’re standing up for.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will begin to roll out many components of the Next Generation project. Through Internet TV, social media, live events, outreach programs and newsletters, NextGeneration.TV will be a rallying place where grandparents, parents, and children can come to learn about the challenges facing our nation and to offer possible solutions for a prosperous future.
Political journalist and commentator Michelle Fields, a millennial herself, will join the Next Gen TV team as a correspondent.

I’m a huge fan of Allen West. I’ve followed him in the news for years now, contributed to his campaign (even though I don’t even live in Florida), and was devestated when he lost in the last election. I just want him to know that there are a lot of Americans out there that support and trust him. Heck, I’d follow that man to hell holding a gasoline can if I had to. We need so many more conservative voices today like Allen West’s, and, hopefully, the more people hear and see people like Allen West, the more they will be receptive to conservative ideas and principles.
What Allen West is doing is actually very smart. The next election will be won through the media, as was the last election. Americans were bombarded by commercials and programming from the liberal mainstream media, which didn’t help Republicans at all. Add to that a president that didn’t have an actual news conference for roughly 8 months prior to the election, but did manage to go on programs like The View, The Daily Show, and my personal favorite, “The Pimp With A Limp” radio show in Florida, and you have a Democratic party that fully understands the importance of owning the mass culture and the mainstream media. And with the mainstream media always supporting liberals, Conservatives will have to find and cultivate other forms of media to get their message out. The more people that are exposed to this new media, the better chance conservatives will have of winning the next election.
Since there are so many low information voters out there, it won’t take much to sway them if you give them a simple idea that will make their lives better. Right now they think their lives will get better simply by staying on the government dole. If they understand that their lives will only get better with less government, lower taxes, and more economic opportunity, then they will vote conservative. If they don’t, then the only thing that will really convince them is when we finally do go broke and the government is unable to keep paying them their benefits and entitlements. After all, England only began listening to Margaret Thatcher when it was almost bankrupt, so the same thing may happen here by 2016.
How is a raving paranoiac like Allen West in any way comparable to Lady Thatcher? The woman competently governed a first world country for over a decade. She resurrected a society that was on the brink of collapse, and helped make it prosperous and vibrant again. I really don’t see how spending one term on the congressinoal back bench in any way compares to this.
Thatcher was a serious stateswoman who was always trying to improve her mind–whether through reading Hayek or the novels of Kingsley Amis. She took elocution lessons to refine her public speaking style. She surounded herself with talented and even brilliant men, knowing that their influence would improve her ability to lead. Allen West probably has no earthly idea who Friedrich Hayek and Kingsley Amis even are, much less read them. His public speaking style is that of an angry crank (naturally), and his coterie seems to be comprised only of Tea Party fanatics and military flunkies. Again, your comparison of him to Lady Thatcher is a bit, er, underwhelming.
And I don’t recall Thatcher ever making pronouncements of the paranoid sort that characterized Mr. West’s single term in the U.S. House of representatives. She could of course be tough– “The Iron Lady” is not merely a catchy nickname– but she always conducted herself with class and dignity. West, who made barmy accusations of Communist-sympathy againt his House colleagues, is one of the most classless and undignified people ever heard of.

I still do not understand the Republicans who gerrymandered Allen West out of Congress. That got them Patrick Murphy and my representative the execrable Lois Frankel.
Yes Lois, I am mad, too. After she destroyed Clematis Avenue and built her personal Taj Mahal of a new City Hall in West Palm Beach, I shudder to think of how she will vote to expand the deficit.
I think it’s obvious. The Colonel was willing to take on the hard fights, not take the “easy path.” As it should be for a man of his honor, prestige, and excellence. That’s what a man does, take the hard route for the greater good. The bigger the man, the larger the fight, the greater the gains. I would expect no less of him.
At this point in time, much of the GOP is all the “Easy Path.” They have no spine and they have no fight in them.

Perhaps you and Caird might consider another reason for the Florida GOP’s decision to Gerrymander Allen West out of congress: he’s a Bircher-esque freak whose paranoid and bigoted rhetoric hurts the party as well as the country. And because the man is not (despite his phony insistence above that he wants “pragmatic solitions”) interested one iota in actually governing, but instead in the sort of carnival barking and creepshow antics that attract media attention.

I have been looking for a way to communicate an idea that I believe Col West could consider with his new position. Someone needs to find the young conservatives in colleges to communicate to their piers about how this administration is stealing from this generation. Obama spent an unusual amount of his campaign at colleges brainwashing the young who are suffering the most today. That’s how he won a second term. This MUST be done to combat the liberal lies.
Here’s a very brief philosophical lesson for Col. Allen West. Principled solutions and pragmatic solutions are mutually incompatible. The only principled solutions that work are those that tend to leave mountains of corpses in their wake. Democracy and principle are inherently at odds. Any future dictator has to be wise to that reality.
Stan, I don’t wholly agree with your argument– I think both the current president and President Reagan amply prove that principle and practicality can be reconciled– but I do sympathize with its drift. Allen West is definitely the sort of nutcase who, acting on Jacobin ‘principle,’ would cause untold numbers of innocent persons to lose their lives.

This looks like a worthwhile project, so much so that it had better be executed with proper deliberation, starting with the language. If the talk is of people, “male” might suit a police report. It may surprise readers, but many members of the Continental Congress served only one term. Possibly I err, but I don’t think Ben Franklin served more than one term. Dave Crocket served one term on Congress, then failed re-election. let’s see, who replaced that great hero…?

Real lovers of Liberty don’t give up. Glad to see you’re still around, Colonel! It’s just as well that you’re out of D.C. at the present time; I intuit that its authority is eroding and will depend more on force, deceit, and bribery to do its deeds. Jim DeMint was wise to get out as well. The fight now should be in the States and Towns, and, more importantly, in the conscience of every American. That’s where real authority has always been anyway.

I saw the first show and I just like to comment my plan to get what I think would be the safest for all and not freak out those kids in school. I am very close to getting this to our people in charge to pass for our Churches School. We have a very large Church and School from 3K to 7th grade. My Wife is a teacher and we have 2 Grandkids at the school. Now there is a buzzer before anyone is allowed in currently for many years. The plan is, we have a retired Police man in our area at our Church and he is very active daily. I’d like him to make the plans along with myself and another Veteran ( All 3 of us are over 6′)and we all know most all of the teachers and many kids and the 3 of us will Concealed weapons carry, as not to scare any of the kids at school. I’d ask for Cameras at every entrance and exit.One of us will be able to see all entrances on one screen constantly. We will be watching the new show at home as much as I can (God Bless you and yours, Charlie Molter VET, VET’s can be the answer.
