St. George’s Day Parade Slain by PC Dragon
The news this week that authorities in the English city of Bradford had apparently banned a St. George’s Day parade by schoolchildren because it might offend local Muslims appeared at first sight to be yet another example of timid British officialdom caving in to the demands of extremists.
We English don’t usually make a big deal about celebrating our dragon-slaying patron saint, and a survey showed that fewer than one in five people planned to mark the occasion on Wednesday. St. Patrick’s Day, on the other hand — giant green hats and buckets of Guinness — we can do that! But, on the off-chance that we did feel like celebrating, being told that we can’t do so for fear of upsetting members of an ethnic minority is, not unreasonably, guaranteed to get our backs up.
The parade story was reported by several UK newspapers, and picked up by the blogosphere. The response was predictable: “Disgusting that we cannot walk in safety in our own country in certain areas because we’re scared of the Muslims that live there!” raged a reader in the comments thread for the Daily Mail’s story. “Good job it wasn’t a Muslim march!” said another.
American commenters on the blogs were even more outraged — you could have been forgiven for thinking that Osama bin Laden himself was parading down Whitehall on horseback, on his way to take the surrender of Gordon Brown and the Queen. Several accused the English of being “spineless” or “lily-livered.” Others bemoaned the fact that the country was becoming an “Islamic republic.” One was at least more sympathetic, suggesting that the English “don’t deserve slavery.”
While we’re grateful for the concern of our cousins across the pond, we’re not done for just yet. That said, my own reaction on first seeing the story was along the same lines as those Daily Mail readers. I might well have fired off my own indignant “offended Muslims” blog post, but because Pajamas asked me to write about the story I spent some time reading the various reports in detail, and particularly reports from Bradford’s local media. And a rather different picture of events emerged.
The parade — billed as an event designed to boost community cohesion — was expected to attract around 10,000 people, and was to feature up to 2,000 schoolchildren from all sections of the community. Organizers had been planning the event with a local police team for some months, but last week the city council, citing police advice from higher up, said the event could not go ahead as planned because of “health and safety” concerns. In true Hillary Clinton fashion, they added that the decision had been taken “in the interests of the children.” Specifically, officials expressed concerns about the planned route of the parade, and suggested an alternative. The organizers decided that, given the restrictions, the event would no longer be viable and called it off.
The original route of the march passed through a largely Muslim area of the city, and along streets that were at the center of race riots in 2001. It’s not hard to see how some people came to the conclusion that the council and police were concerned about Muslims being offended. However, there’s absolutely no evidence to suggest that the local Muslim community as a whole, or even a significant minority of it, was likely to be “offended” by the parade, or objected to it in any way.
Outside of the more lurid UK tabloids, the words “Muslim” and “Islam” are nowhere to be found in any of the reports that I’ve seen, although the mention of race riots and “Asian” communities invites the reader to draw their own conclusions, and those were the elements that many bloggers latched on to. The local Council of Mosques supported the event, as did Muslim councillors. It has been reported that one of the community police officers who was involved with planning the event is a Muslim. Many of the children due to take part in the parade were Muslim. Imagine how all of these community-spirited citizens felt when, for their troubles, they were rewarded with headlines such as “St. George’s Parade Scrapped … In Case It Upsets Muslims” (on the website of one of the aforementioned tabloids).
What appears far more likely — and what the parade organizers are saying — is that senior police officers failed to communicate with their colleagues who were involved in planning the event, and when they learned of the proposed route they became concerned that troublemakers, whether Muslim extremists or members of far-right groups, might have taken advantage of the parade to stir up trouble.
It’s hard to see what kind of nightmare scenario the fevered imaginations of police and council chiefs cooked up. The event was taking place in broad daylight, and the participants were mostly local children and their families. Anyone planning on causing trouble would have had to do so in full view of parents, kid brothers and sisters, and neighbors. The parade was also taking place on a weekday, and even extremists have jobs to go to.
But if the police really feared violence they should have supervised the parade in sufficient strength to ensure that they were able to deal with it. Instead they gave in — not to extremism, and not even to the threat of extremism, but to the mere notion of extremism — causing disappointment for thousands of law-abiding people so that their officers could enjoy a quiet life. As one of the parade organizers, local vicar Tony Tooby, said: “This is saying that the thugs are winning everything and that the community has not got over the riots. Are we a community gripped by fear?”
The irony, of course, is that one of the aims of the event was to bring young people from different ethnic and religious backgrounds together, with the aim of eradicating the distrust that leads to the kind of trouble the police apparently feared. Bradford has had its problems with racial tensions, but a lot of people have worked hard to improve relations between communities. Just a few days before the row over the St. George’s Day parade erupted, thousands of Sikhs marched through the city to celebrate the festival of Vaisakhi without a hint of trouble. (Among other things, the festival celebrates the martyrdom of a guru who was tortured to death by Muslims in 1606 — clearly no one told the local police, who would probably have launched a “cold case” investigation.)
There’s a legitimate debate going on in Britain about the failure of Muslims and other immigrants to assimilate, but it’s not helped by the authorities, or the media, looking for problems where they don’t exist. By scuppering the parade at such short notice, and failing to give a plausible explanation for doing so, Bradford’s leaders allowed a sinister narrative to develop. They’ve caused more harm to community relations, and to their city’s reputation, than could possibly have been done by a few thugs trying to disrupt a parade.
Overexcited reporting by the mainstream media stoked passions, which were further inflamed by the Chinese whispers effect that’s an inevitable consequence of bloggers reporting on a story third, fourth, or fifth-hand. There’s an argument to be had as to whether bloggers should be held to the same standards as the professional media operations they often criticize, but those who aspire to promoting honest debate, rather than just pandering to the like-minded, ought at least to beware of crying wolf.
Unfortunately we live in times where fear and mistrust all too often trump good sense, and the mentality that prevailed in Bradford isn’t confined to police chiefs and council officials. At the end of a report on Wednesday’s St. George’s Day celebrations, the BBC News website invited the public to send in photos and video of events — street parties, fancy dress parades, and the like — with the following disclaimer: “Do not endanger yourself or others, take any unnecessary risks or infringe any laws.”

These stories are often overblown by the tabloids and blogs. To a certain extent this reflects the fact that many people, in Britain and elsewhere, are sick of having “diversity” rammed down our throats. Often the complaints don’t come from Muslims but from officious council busybodies. And the health and safety thing has really got out of hand.
That said, there are problems with Islam and integration in the UK. There are problems with Islam as an ideology that doesn’t sit well with democracy and pluralism, and it would be better if this was discussed openly.
I’m going to stop you dead in your tracks and put this into a properly framed perspective for you. islam is not a race. It is a flawed religion. No religion is a race. Is Baptist a religion? What about Methodist? For that matter, is being a Christian a race? We are no more your cousins than the french, less actually. For that matter, we’ve kicked your butts and saved them from your other pacifist leaders in 2 wars. Here we are again, you grovel at the notion of standing up for your selves. The fact is, the event was canceled out of cowardness. For crying out loud, try to remember who the heck you are and what a great race, oops, religion, oops… NATION you come from and do it justice. We are not going to save your sorry butts again, you’re going to have to stand up to islime yourselves.
We are not going to save your sorry butts again, you’re going to have to stand up to islime yourselves.
It’s so good to be told what’s what by our “saviours” from across the pond. Especially when they write so beautifully.
“Dark Helmet”: grow up … and perhaps learn to spell? You’re making a fool of ‘your country’.
Dark Helmet is lying down with a cold cloth across his fevered brow. He’ll be better bye and bye.
Dark Helmet may have been blunt but sometimes the truth hurts. The left in Britain is leading the country down the path of national suicide. This disease exists in varying degrees in all Western nations. Continental Europe is almost a write off with U.K. not as bad but heading that way and America less then Britain but still serious. It’s time for all Western nations to stop bickering among themselves and say enough is enough.
Dark Helmet:
Huh?
For the benefit of you, and anyone else who’s read my piece while standing on their head and squinting, I acknowledged that there’s a legitimate debate going on in Britain about the failure of Muslims and other immigrants to assimilate. You may have missed it – it was buried in the line ‘There’s a legitimate debate going on in Britain about the failure of Muslims and other immigrants to assimilate…’
And I’ve written on the subject here at Pajamas:
http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/what-we-learned-from-fitna/
I’m not crazy about the way immigration to the UK has been mismanaged, but I have no problem with immigration per se. Britain’s Muslim population isn’t going anywhere for the forseeable future, and one of the points of this piece is that we shouldn’t discourage those who want to fit in.
As for your claim that ‘We are no more your cousins than the french, less actually.’
The 150 or so descendents of my dad’s brothers and sisters who are scattered across the US would probably take issue with that.
Lastly, I’d like to personally thank you for your efforts on behalf of Britain in World Wars One and Two. You’re pretty fiesty for a guy who must be – what? – 110?
Enough is enough … what, exactly? And by the way, lest we forget what we’re all ‘bickering’ about: thank you Mike for yet another well written, incredibly thoughtful post.
Liberalism and the pussification of western nations by them are a festering sore in free societies. The curious thing is that being ‘liberal’ accomplishes NOTHING other then increasing racial and cultural tensions(and loss of liberty in general to government). The liberal/Democrat party is the party of elite racists. And they keep the party strong by catering to those in the masses who want free government hand-outs with empty promises.
Alice,
Do I really need to tell you? It’s the left’s multicultural dogma. Instead of assimilating like other waves of immigrants the left has told them that they don’t have to, in fact in it’s wrong of them to even try, you don’t owe anything to anyone outside your group. Why is everyone surprised we end up with large numbers of the recent immigrants who feel they owe nothing to the country they live in? Along with with enablers who will destroy a nation’s hertiage so not to offend anyone. The message should be this the country you live in now and you take pride in it’s traditions because their yours now too.
Steve, you make fair points but you seem to be responding to other commenters rather than to the article. Muslim/Asian kids taking part in a St George’s Day parade IS an example of taking pride in English traditions and assimilating, and should be encouraged. Britain has failed to assimilate previous generations of immigrants – in large part due to the multiculturalists – and we mustn’t make the same mistakes again.
The bad guys win without having to do anything, this is the sad part. Cowering and groveling before the complaints even come.
Is there a Ministry of Groveling and Dhimmitude in the UK?
There is nothing inherently wrong with multi-culturalism. In fact, I would argue, any society professing to call itself “free” should live up to its billing and allow people to practice their religion and cultural heritage without harassment from idiots like Dark Helmet. Moreover, if it is my wish not to completely purge my cultural heritage and assimilate, then I have every right to do so – as long as it does not place onerous demands or burdens on anyone else.
For God’s sake, don’t let the UK convert into a US inspired social conservative model. Look at where they have landed since George Bush and his religious wing-nut base took power? That is what awaits UK society unless you keep the Christian authoritarians as far away from the levers of power as possible.
“Look at where they have landed since George Bush and his religious wing-nut base took power?”
And where is that? Has the US slipped into quivering and cowering at the feet of multiculturalism as has milquetoast Europe? Many of you go to great lengths to allow your national identities so be driven out by a foreign culture that does not want to assimilate, and that will eventually destroy you. It comes from their own mouths, yet you ignore it.
“the Christian authoritarians”
Who are these? It sounds good, and may even give you an air of superiority, yet I have no idea who these are? I could list thousands of “Islamic authoritarians” the world over and many in the UK that outwardly call for death and destruction of those that do not appease their blood lust. You look down your nose at the backwards, knuckle dragging Americans, yet ignore the ferocious monster living amongst you. As Churchill said: “An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.”
The crocodile is hungry…..
Mike,
Your right I am. I did say it was some groups of immigrants. The article itself was good example of PC run amok, a parade that no said they had any problem with canceled because someone might be offended.
Bo,
Gotta take a swipe at Bush and the Christians? Exactly were have we landed? If I were you in the UK I wouldn’t worry about Christians taking power since your left can’t wait to hand it over to Islam but I guess that doesn’t bother you. Please bashing Christian is so last century.
“There is nothing inherently wrong with multi-culturalism”
There is a reason people leave the hellholes they come from to migrate? Why would you want them to bring their culture of disaster with them. Name one Islamic country in the world today which is compatible with western values!
If you are not smart enough yet to notice and most leftist aren’t. Some cultures are better than others. There is a reason why American values have made it the most successful nation on the planet. It is a basic acknowledgement and adoption of the unique American value, that each person’s worth is not based on his family, beliefs or color but on that person’s actions. In case you haven’t noticed, Islamic countries regulate non-muslim and women to second class status.
A day is coming for soon, when you christian bigots in Europe, are going to be pleading once again for the America right to rescue you again. You don’t actually think the American left would do anything to help you, do you? Look at them now, they make light of the certain death of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis if the US military left it to Al Queda and they don’t care. Just like you, their real enemies are the American conservatives who stand in the way of their marxists paradise. Fools
This is not the England I remember as a child being taught by my ‘Better’s’ who survived Nazi Germany and at one point stood alone as the whole world watched. I believe the spirit is still there…what they need is an extended crisis and they will have it sooner than later with this kind of behavior !
The defeat of London’s pro-jihad Mayor Ken Livingstone in the May 1 elections would be a blow to the PC crowd. And the indications are that most Londoners want to retire Livingstone but low voter would help Red Ken. Londoners, “Vote for Boris Johnson” this Thursday.
For those of you Brits who seem offended or mildly put off by comments from American readers, try to understand that most mean well. The U.K. to many Americans is like a distance well loved relative, who we want to see thriving. When we see that relative succombing to silly, often Orwellian, forces, it pains us.
To Americans who think England is lost the only thing I can offer is that when I lived in England, the most prototypical Englishman I knew (and still know) was a man born in Tunisia of Indian extraction.
No wonder you English couldn’t win a war without the Scots or the Irish….
No Dark Helmet, the problem for the English in their current oh-so-multiculti environment is that they fought wars too successfully. If they dare celebrate their own culture, they risk offending one or more of the many cultures whom they conquered. Success is not to be bragged about!
The biggest concern any Western nation has to fear is that they’ve become so comfortable in their lives that they no longer feel the need to appreciate, respect and honor what their forebearers sacrificed to give them.
MMMM….if they hadn’t of needed our help, then maybe. When you let them take away your guns was your complete and total surrendor. So much invested in suffering quietly. If there are any men amoung you, ( that would be the Highlanders or the Irish ) then stand your ground and take your country back. Or plan to submit to islime. Your leaders seem more than ready and sadly so does the rest of what we see. Your history, your country & your Queen are all for nothing if you don’t fight and win. You were some of the most ruthless, fearless seamen in the world. But look at you now. The worst part about it is that arabs are cowards. If you put them against the wall with a blade to their throat, they would cry out for mercy and snivel back to mecca singing your greatness. Instead, you let the lowest common denominator rule you. It makes me sick. This whole pathetic pc culture is pure hogwash. No matter which side of the pond it pollutes.
First, I would like to express my embarrassment as an American for my somewhat over zealous brethren. Second, I would just like to express my solidarity the Europeans and that I understand what they are going through.
Also, Americans who are calling the Europeans wimps? Think about this: the only thing that separates our situation from the Europeans is location. Our main immigrants are coming from Central and South America. Their’s are coming from the Middle East. It is really easy to say that they are wimps when its not you who has to deal with their burdens.
Stupid comments, Dark Helmet. If the Brits hadn’t borne the brunt for the first years of the war, there’d be nothing for the come-late Yankis to “save”. If the Russians hadn’t had Stalingrad, even America would have been under the hammer after Britain fell.
All the allies played their parts in their own ways.
I am not your brethren. I am a bitter, gun clinging American who falls back on his relationship with God and has zero use for invading criminal alians. The only thing worse than your politicians and lack of self preservation in the face of threats is the like minded pc panderers trying to ram the same garbage down America’s throut. They also happen to be the biggest fans of what’s wrong in your country, and the rest of europe. You don’t deal with burdens, you remove your problems. Unless of course the very notion of that might offend some one, that’s what this thread is about. I think I like the term surrendor monkeys, it seems to suit your way of thinking. Don’t like it? Get your guns back, be free men and send the muslime packing. Send your tolerance people with them and watch how long they survive in meccaville
True; even the French bravely held out for ten or fifteen minutes, slowing the tide of the Nazi advance long enough to sew white flags and put out the welcome mats.
We complain about the French surrendering in the face of a huge German attack yet watch all of Europe, and to a large extent the USA, slowly surrender to a volent monority. Lets not forget the USA was very neutral until forced into two world wars and a cold war we bankrolled. In our short 232 years we have done alot. I feel Europe is now more interested in surrendering to eco-terrorists, islamic terrorist, energy blackmail from Russia, and more concerned about making money off horrid states such as Iran then standing up for the freedom and liberty our fathers died and suffered for. Europe lost their best and brightest in 2 nasty world wars until all that was left were wretched civilians, those who for social or medical reasons couldnt fight, communists and those who surrender easy. From this seed stock arose modern, post-christian europe. So while our governments worry about hurting non-citizens feelings and starving the world with leftest, eco-biofuel-nonsense, the islamic threat is understated while Bush and Jews are blamed for the problems. The Left and islamic-facists turn words into actions, the Right and those who see the problem complain but do nothing. There was a time when the citizens themselves rose up and protected their country. Now we look to the central government to ease our problems. Who will win the the long run?
Referring to Muslims as ‘Asians’ really does confuse the issue. If an issue at hand involves Muslims, use the word Muslim.
As Dark Helmet inarticulately points out, no religion is a race.
No matter what impact the St. George’s Day parade might or might not have on Muslims, let’s remember what Islam is, what it isn’t, and why your thinking shouldn’t be swayed by their petty, whining sensibilities.
Islam is NOT a religion. It is a seventh century Arabian supremacist belief system, the principles and ancient hatreds of which remain unchanged from that time and place.
It is a complete way of life which includes religion and in which governance and religion are one and the same.
It is a system; a way of life in which God’s law is THE law. Check the Constitutions of Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Afghanistan if you remain skeptical.
That not every Muslim is in full compliance with the tenets of that complete way of life is irrelevant and does not negate what Islam really is and what it really teaches.
So-called ‘moderate’ Muslims are like Catholics who use artificial birth control methods. Each is engaged in selective compliance with the demands of their respective beliefs, and each knows it.
As a theocracy, Islam is antithetical to the very essence of liberal Western democratic principles and many of its core dictates violate the United States Constitution and relevant American law. No, we don’t allow Muslims to amputate the hands of unrepentant thieves–despite what God says in Qur’an 5:38.
And before I forget, to Muslims, Allah is the same God of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
Pass it on.
According to Islam, I and my wife and my children are filthy Kuffar; unbelievers, if you will, to whom ‘the’ Muslims should offer a choice of conversion, life as a dhimmi under the ‘protection’ of toothless, uneducated barbarians, or warfare.
Never mind that this IS the twenty-first century and I don’t live in a Muslim majority part of the Middle East.
Islam has no legitimate place in the West.
Oh, and by the way; about that word ‘extremists’. What is it they’re being extreme about, exactly? Islam?
Good comments BobC. I am not sure what your point was however, to claim Allah is the God of Christians. He most certainly is not the God Jehovah (YHWH), found in the Bible. Is the deity of Islam triune in nature? The New Testament is clear that God is to be called Father. He sent his Son into this world to die for our sins. There are immense differences which honesty demands we recognise.
Michael,
Thank you.
But I did NOT claim that Allah (which is the Arabic word for God) is the God of either Judaism or Christianity.
I made it clear that Allah is, TO MUSLIMS, the same God you worship.
One and the same; with a message that (to them) supercedes those of the Old and New Testaments.
Despite your protestations, that IS what they believe.
BTW: Islam does not mean peace. It means submission.
There are many reputable websites at which you can learn what Islam really is, what it really teaches, and why it threatens, today as it has for the past 1400 years, every non-Muslim nation and culture.
Try JihadWatch.org as a starter:

Light is impossible for the congenitally blind.
——–
Two things:
One-
Why advocate the congenitally blind being saved (from islam or anything else [eg, atilla etc])? (It is more than about time the idiot-ocray of profound and utter hypocrisy be purged.)
Two-
You say islam is not compatible with “[western enlightenment liberal democratic principles]” and “[is unconstitutional (US)]“.
Agreed.
But most of what western culture is now (not what we think it is or what it is for the profiteers –but what it actually is) is not in any way shape or form part of the original goal of “[true] liberal western enlightenment, “reason” and it’s constitutions.
For example feminism; a neo religion-like government-caste grabbing. It is not indicative of and /the enlightenment at all. (BTW I am not going to debate the validity of that truth with the blind.)
What western culture has experienced in the last two centuries is an all too powerful example of how the “experiment” failed miserably.
This has horribly depressing implications for those that can see reality clearly. …That enlightenment principles and “justice and fairenss” and “scientific objective reason” as a backbone of civic world view might not ever be possible.
This is so depressing that this truth must be deluded around.
So what man is left with is a snowballing future of non self aware hypocrites who are blind for congential reasons…

Why advocate the congenitally blind being saved (from islam or anything else [eg, atilla etc])? (It is more than about time the idiot-ocray of profound and utter hypocrisy be purged.)
I agree with the English posters, most Americans are so pathetically ignorant abour our own country that we have even less credibility putting down another country, even a close one like the UK
Maybe England needs to invent some newer heroes and icons that reflect the country better and put out to pasture these medieval relics like St. George, who slew no dragons. After all there aren’t even alligators in the UK.
Wow William,
Can you get anymore dishonest and silly with your mindless rant? Your generalizations about Europe are as dishonest as they are stupid. No endorsement to the Communists. but tens of million of them fought and died fighting the Nazis, after 6/22/41 of course. So your garbage about only the sick, weak and Communist being left behind is pathetic and worthy of a Nazi. To call that anti-intellectual is an insult to anti-intellectualism. The USSR suffered 35 million dead but destroyed 80% of the Wehrmacht’s strength, especially their tanks and Communists were prominent in most resistance movements. Your post is RIGHT WING BLOG IDIOCY at its finest.
bobc
I see your definition of inarticulate is not going on & on pontificating useless blather to get the same point across.
Bobc, Thanks for correcting me. You did not claim Allah is the deity of Christians. I am aware Muslims think he is. Jesus, the Son of God, crucified dead and risen, might disagree, and I would side with him.
“…the Son of God, crucified dead and risen, might disagree, and I would side with him.”
CRACK POT ALERT!! CRACK POT ALERT!!
———-
…Boy it sure is a good thing we fight wars to get rid of the religious nuts from the hills so an age of reason can fruit…
I was in Istanbul last week in the Blue Mosque, when the Kurd Guide told us assembled Frenchies that we worshipped the same god, I snorted in irritation and shook my head. Some of the people noticed this and later asked me so I told them that Allah was the Arab Moon God and that it has nothing to do with Judism or Christianity. I also pointed out that the New Testement is opposite in every way to the Koran and that they even insult Jesus by saying he was a prophet and rejecting his divinity, so Islam has nothing to do with Christianity, I had a few people nodding in an agreement and a very upset guide, but I did make sure I said this outside of the Mosque…
I must say that the idea of multiculturalism is as nifty as group hugs and sensitivity training, but the reality of the matter is that cultural relativism and the post-modern left offers nothing but a way OUT of everything the west has become.
Western Culture, lead mainly by the English speaking lands, has become the Greece, or the Rome of it’s day: Science, the arts, and social and political thought has been dynamically shaping this culture for a long time now, but unfortunately like the Greeks and the Romans, we too are losing the drive, the motivation, and the fire in our belly to stay on top and just like each of them we can fall to a challenger with very different ideas and methods down the road simply because they want it more (or hate us enough and our guard is down). People in the West do not get it anymore… too many of us have grown mentally fat and docile, entertaining ourselves with notions that every culture is equal in an attempt to hide the perceived ‘sins of our past’ and sooth our troubled souls since we still sit the lap of luxury that the world has never before seen.
It takes anti-western forces using Western invented and designed aircraft to fly them into western designed and engineered buildings using western designed training programs to fulfill their mission. But I guess that culture is equal to our own? We can see rich Kings (or their cultural equiv.) in different lands making fortunes selling natural resources which must be extracted using machines and techniques designed by westerners. Everything so many of these other cultures are and have is due to the creativity and design-work of western minds. In societies where westerners are not welcome (unless we come with money and only visiting for a short while) we see droves of their own people leaving for western destinations — mostly with little cash and planning to stay forever.
Western guilt and laziness will be the downfall if there is to be one. Our willingness to see all of our own faults and errors make us weak because in the end no matter how many times we say that we are sorry for this or that event or idea which took place far before any of us were born, no matter how much we try to act as though every culture is equal and has something to give to the tapestry that is the world, and no matter how much we lie to each other about ‘bringing people together will make us get along’ it will not work. The tapestry is a thin mesh tattered from centuries of disagreements. Oh what vain minds we have to think we hold the keys to world peace.
Count how many people you know have moved *TO* Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Iran, North Korea, China, Cuba, or any of the other ‘equals’ in culture to our own. Now tell me how many people you may know come from those places, or places like them. We are not all equal when it comes to cultures and the decisions of all of the individuals make this self-evident. As such when England chooses to have a celebration of St. George on English soil, then all those opposed need to remember where they currently decided to take up residence and actually make an effort to become ENGLISH and embrace one of the richest, most delightful histories in the world. Or perhaps go back to Shari’a law. Both are equal… right?
To Mike McNally:
I see that you, like the major of London, have much fear of Muhammad in form of dragon. As Theodor Mommsen says “even the grace of gods can help to no mortal who lacks courage”. I would add: “even the sword of St. George can help a man without valour.
It’s clear that barring a supernatural infusion of testosterone and common sense, the future in Euroland belongs to Allah.Considering how many Bos and Javelins, and other appeasing “progressive” scum it has nurtured, maybe that’s not a bad thing.
Hiphip horray for Boris for standing up for BRITISH VALUES at long last when are you going to run from Prime Minister PLEASE we are fed up with being told we are affending other people who live in OUR country when all the time it is us being affended please take note of Australia,s Pm saying they have the right to leave if they don,t like it here.No other country would be as spineless as we are being at the moment and no other country would allow the abuse to be thrown at soilders returning to their home land these people should be arressted and thrown out of England.GOOD ON YOU BORIS WE ARE BEHIND YOU ALL THE WAY
Hey, thanks for the blog article. Thanks Again. Fantastic.
