Following Obama’s political fortunes I recall the celebrate phrase of Napoleon (from a letter to Abbé du Pradt about the retreat from Moscow): “From the sublime to the ridiculous there is but a step”. Obama hasn’t conquered Moscow yet (i.e. the White House, which is much more worthy than the Kremlin), but he appears ridiculous already. I have only some doubt about the word “sublime”. For Rev. Wright’s pupil (differently of Napoleon) the sublime isn’t a natural state. Like a clown before an astonished public he climbs a mount made of all kinds of waste and after slides down the slope remaining covered by the rubbish that helped him to ascend so high. Ridiculous!

Debts? Hillary has campaign debts? Well, no kidding. The question is whether she'll pay them out of her personal pocket. That would be a test of character. I won't hold my breath.

Back in the mid-90's I worked for a small printing company in the D.C. suburbs. Politics was our bread and butter. The usual campaign rot: bumper stickers, coffee mugs, T-shirts, key fobs and the like. It's well understood in the industry that you NEVER extend credit to a political campaign. In God we trust; politicians pay cash.

I'm not terribly interested in the federal tax return of a candidate. I want to know his or her credit score. Is it unreasonable to ask someone to prove they can handle their personal finances before we trust them with a trillion dollar national budget? I won't hold my breath on this one either.

Yo! DB from the DNC, my last paycheck in '98 bounced. I understand you still owe my former boss 20K. Bitch.

I think there is plenty for candidates to talk about in regard to oil. How about supporting drilling in the ANWR in Alaska, How about support new wells in Montana. How about supporting new wells in the Gulf of Maxico. How about supporting new refineries. There is a lot this country could do to solve it's energy problems but no seems to be talking about that. As Saudia Arabia said, we only have ourselves to blame.
