Speaker Pelosi: Stand Up for Muslim Women, Not Islamists Like Rauf!
Honorable Speaker Pelosi:
I heard you say that the people who oppose the construction of the Ground Zero mosque should be investigated.
Investigate me. I oppose the construction of that mosque.
This mosque, built in such close proximity to Ground Zero, is intended to send a message to America and another message to the Muslims who are gravitating toward human rights laws and secularism. We are sure that this mosque will cause nothing but division and justified ill will towards Muslims in this country.
I came to America as a political refugee, fleeing from the Islamic rule in Iran that subsumed a secular, woman-respecting government. As a human, woman, and a mother, I could not live under nor subject my daughter to such brutal, barbarian tyranny. What I see now occurring in my new home, America, is Islamists forcing their policies in bits and pieces, here and there. It is terribly disconcerting, not only to me but to all Iranian Americans and the large majority of Muslims who came to America to live in peace, freedom, and prosperity.
Madam Speaker: The Islamists are using the laws of this greatest of democracies to implement their ideology in any way they can — whether by propaganda, intimidation, the misuse of political correctness or anti-discrimination policies, or the minority status that this society puts at their disposal. Plus the most powerful of all tools, the money — the limitless petrodollars coming from foreign Islamist dictators with anti-democratic agendas.
Because the American Constitution calls for the separation of religion and government, the Justice Department, the ACLU, and others constantly minimize the influence Christianity and Judaism have on American secular society. What we, American Muslims, wonder: why is there an exception for Islam from the rules applied to others, even though the Islamic human rights record is deeply problematic and contrary to all the civil rights and individual rights laws of this great republic?
Why is Islam given a pass that is not given to Christianity or Judaism?
Madam Speaker: You are a powerful woman in the world, but you don’t care much about the human rights of hundreds of millions of women and children who need the support of the people like you to gain their individual freedom. You claim to be for the women’s right to choose, but then you ignore the right of women and children to have human dignity!
A large majority of America’s Muslims, women and girls, are living under sharia laws. Stripped of their human dignity.
You support the construction of the mosque but you don’t support the women and girls who are forced to wear hijabs against their will. Muslim women and girls live in seclusion, on the fringes of society, without recourse because of their families’ religion. In the name of religious freedom, political correctness in America only pleases the patriarchal hierarchy of the Muslim world. In the name of religious freedom, America permits Muslim communities to run a state within a state, perpetuating the patriarchal crimes against helpless women and children who should have their constitutional rights defended.
When “Muslim men” are given extra privileges that are definitely not granted to those of other religions, my Muslim sisters and I see this as the gravest discrimination committed in America.
Madam Speaker: We came to America to live in peace and harmony with Americans. We don’t want to be identified by our religion. We want to be identified by our cultures and the content of our characters. We want to be Americans, not Muslim-Americans.
We don’t want our girls forced by their fathers to wear hijabs, and to be embarrassed among their peers in American schools. We want to be free to practice — or not practice — our religion. We also want to be free to “choose.”
Unfortunately, politicians like you have chosen to cater to the worst among us — the Muslim dictators and the so-called community leaders. Ignoring the rest of us, Muslim women and children, as if we don’t exist.
The Islamists will not stop until Islam rules the world. Ayatollah Khomeini declared that Iran was a platform toward a Muslim world.
All of us American Muslims know that this is the most democratic country on Earth, and we are well aware of the Constitution and the meaning of freedom of religion in America. We luxuriate in that freedom, and we celebrate it, and we defend it.
You know well that the question here is not freedom of religion, or respect for Muslims! This is nothing but pure politics — sacrificing humanity in the name of religion for the sake of ideological politics.
We want America to treat Islam like it treats Christianity and Judaism, and to stop exempting Muslims from requirements imposed on others. We want Islam to be challenged by the same questioning, criticism, and control that is applied to other religions. Please stop pampering Islam to appease the terrorists and dictators.
Madam Speaker: The Age of Enlightenment changed the face of Judaism and Christianity, but Islam remains trapped in the 6th century. Here we have the Constitution and law. Apply it evenly to all — no exceptions for Islam. Support freedom from religion for the women and children suffering under Islamic law in America.

I strongly agree that is would have be better to speak up for the females in the muslim mosques. Too many of these women have suffered too much. Today, if these women speak against the injustice that is part of their daily live, the men will murder/beat them into silence. Remember that in muslim society, the male has custody of the children.
There are some stories that are smuggled out for us to hear. But the identity of the woman is kept secret. We hope that one day they will be able to speak freely about the troubles they endure.

You want to allow the raping of women and the killing of gays? Hey, knock yourself out, if it’s OK by you then it’s OK by us. If we don’t stand up to these animals in our own country, how can we expect them to fear us overseas? Why is Islam given a pass? There is the saying, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Pelosi and company hate the Christians and Jews (or perhaps what they stand for, and not the people who believe). Without Christianity or Judaism then there would be no resistance to many of the policies that they wish to impose (to many Christians and Jews who believe that the state is not the supreme being). By giving free reign to Islam they believe that they can wipe out the influence of the two true religions. They then hope that once that happens they will be able to control the non-true religion (and after watching the corruption that is occurring in Iran and Saudi Arabia, which is worse than what we see here, they may be right. Just give a few mullahs some kickbacks and some virgins and they’ll be happy).

If Nancy Pelosi is willing to usurp the Constitution and violate individual rights (through socialist legislation), she’s not likely to care a fig about the persecution of women in any Islamic country or culture. More likely, she’ll accuse you of bigotry and “cultural imperialism.” I think you underestimate her fundamental nihilistic character. 1. It’s one thing to not like, even hate, a religion and not want to belong… it’s quite another to HATE them all! Do you really see the moral equivalent of Islam (in all, or most, it’s forms) in Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism? I see some but very little. 2. I agree that bribery of our politicians is a problem. But don’t you think it can be, and often is, dealt with? 3. You say you are against the Mosque, but that any politician who takes a stand against it is “No Good”. Do you not want to see our politicians speak out on the issues… so you know where they stand? I sure do. 4. I agree with you that the Saudi’s, and many other foreign interests have far more influence in our country than should be allowed. That’s why the money that will fund the GZM should be disclosed.

The First Amendment of the Constitution states basically that the Congress shall pass no law respecting religion… one way or the other. I get your point, however, separation of Church and State, through First Amendment interpretations, has been institutionalized in US Courts… and rightly so. I think Manda is only asking that the US Courts provide her and others, who might otherwise be oppressed by Islamists, the same protections provided everyone else from other religions. It does seem a small thing to ask given the level of oppression coming out of Islam compared to say Christianity, Buddhism etc.
I don’t care if the courts have institutionalized a non-existent “separation of church and state”. What can be institutionalized can be deinstitutionalized whether you think it should be that way or not.
This country was founded on Christian/Judeo principles or this whole discussion would be moot. There would be no U.S.A. as we know it. People who came to this country thanked God that they finally reached here. Everything accomplished was done with thanksgiving to God. This freedom to express religion is one reason, among many, why people emigrate from their countries to the U.S.
We do not have a government established religion(this is banned by the 1st amendment) so no one who comes here will have to support a faith different from their own or be ruled by it. The state is not allowed to ban or meddle in religious affairs, which it seems to be doing when it comes to Muslims. They should neither encourage nor discourage particular religions. IMO government has no right to intrude into religions and the fact that they do is indicative of the way our country has strayed from the rights bestowed upon us by Constitutional amendments.

I agree with much of what you write. I think the government should have stayed out of this discussion. But as soon as Bloomburg… and then O’Bama, opened their big traps we now have the government to deal with, in addition to the Muslims themselves. With them taking such a strong stand in favor of the GZM, and of Islam, our only recourse is to vote the bastards out this November and again in 2012.

So, you see, we are going to have to deal with Islam, in a way very unlike the way we deal with all other religions in this country, be they Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Atheist or agnostic.
Fortunately, we do have experience in this. During the late 1800′s we were jailing Mormons by the hundreds and threatening to confiscate their property, mostly over the polygamy issue. At that time, the Mormon leaders were just as belligerent as Islam’s leaders of today. Today the Mormons are a modicum of a peaceful, Christian, pro American religion.

You are right to directly address Speaker (not for long) Pelosi about this issue, even if it is unlikely she will see the light. The truth must be spoken from every street corner and from every high place. I have tried to get people in my little college town of leftists – the sociologists and so forth – interested in the writings of Ayaan Hirsi Ali, even to the point of giving out free copies of her book; but they just are not interested. But to address them publicly so that people can see their apathy, or even hostility, is worth the effort to expose them.

Strange as it may seem, there are some ‘muslims’ who just worship allah – the same way lots of anglicans (CofE) just worship an indefiable ‘god’ of their childhood.
It is hard to break away from from childhood conditioning and feeling guilty about denying the existence of the supernatural.
However, Mohammed/Muhamed was merely human – and a 7th. century, extremely primitive, used camel seller at that. To ignore his misogynistic, arrogant, childish and violent example as something that we, as a society, have grown out of, is easier than denying a personal god. Many of these people still wish to consider themselves followers of allah. This is what is meant when they claim that muslims existed before 622CE. (Rather like the the jews and the christians, same god different prophet/messiah.)
Having been an atheist all my life, I don’t have this problem, but I am able to recognise and sympathise when I see it.

It’s very difficult to see the rational, wisdom or positive outcome that could result from building this mosque near Ground Zero. The organizers, planers and financiers could not have been driven by their overt claims: love and reconciliation.

Wayne, I agree. But you’re also assuming that Pelosi and other progressives actually defend the Constitution, which I do not believe they do; even your President has said that it is an imperfect document. Well, not to my eyes.
I think what progressives in Congress and in the courts have trouble with is the founding principle that all men are created equal, as well as the people’s unalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, because these were bestowed by God–or if you are an atheist, at the moment of your birth. Those words were written to ensure no act of Government can infringe upon them. Ever. So I am not surprised when progressives try to substitute Government for “the laws of nature and nature’s God”in America’s founding principles; it is the only way they can gain supreme power and make the people dependent upon them.
Living in Canada, I am entranced by what I see occurring in the US. I’m not particularly religious nor am I hard right wing (I’m more Libertarian), but I see a slow train coming and both entrenched political parties are looking the wrong way down the tracks. And that train, driven by everyday Americans, not racist, ignorant old white people that the progressives and MSM portray them as, cannot be stopped. When that train runs over the ruling classes in Washington, and the US returns to its founding principles, women like Manda will see justice. Not social justice or environmental justice, the smokescreen of Marxist ideology to soothe the useful idiots, but what your founders envisioned when they carefully worded the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights–the envy of the common man around the world and the enemy of tyrants. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”
I estimate this letter took me about 2 minutes to read. Could it also be read aloud in the same 2 minutes on the evening newscasts of all of the major networks? Ms. Ervin, do you or anyone else at PJM, know how to make that come to pass? What an intriguing thought, that this could be broadcast out to millions of Americans at the same time. Perhaps as a “final thought” on programs like 60 Minutes or any of the evening news/talk shows.

This Lady from Iran has won my respect. She speaks with such power of conviction and thruth. The kind that speaker Pelosi lacks. She has lived in a muslim world were there are no rights and that is the reason these fools in America talk the way the way they do, because they have never suffered from such a dictator like regime. Imam Rauf, Burning Q’urans, and 9/11
With the ninth anniversary of the deadly, unprovoked, sneak attack by Muslims–in PC language, the attack by a small band of disaffected Islamic militants–fast approaching, the noxious vermin are crawling out of the woodwork to do what vermin do best, spread pestilence.
Imam Rauf and the Mosque: We’ve heard a great deal of late of the particular vermin that plan to crown the great Islamic victory of September 11th, 2001 by doing what Muslims are wont to do after great victories. Islam, Muslims, have traditionally emphasized their victories by erecting monuments, grand mosques, near or on the sites of those conquests.
Imam Feisel Abdul Rauf plans to follow that tradition and add an extra-special exclamation point to the Islamic victory of 9/11 by not only building his monster mosque in proximity to the sacred ground of Ground Zero but by planning to open it, no doubt with great fanfare, ten years to the day after that great Islamic victory.
If nothing else, we have to grant Rauf the twenty first century’s Outstanding Chutzpa Award, an award conferred in recognition of his temerity, sense of ironic timing, and gross insensitivity to the still-open wounds of the survivors of 9/11 and their loved ones.
For a self-designated, peace-making bridge between Islam and the West, Rauf is astoundingly impervious to all sense of reason on his mosque, which he has every legal right to build even though by building it he will be infuriating millions of Americans.
His failure to realize that is one possibility that may be circulating in the imam’s brain.

Our job is to send Islamic terrorist to their heaven with Allah…before they send us to our graves..we must find a way to unplug the Muslim Student Associations from our campuses, remove Parliment housing known as Mosque that hold meetings to destroy the west, way to many mosque in the U.S. If we believe this is not a religion but rather a political ideology then we Americans have a duty to secure the fabric of our country. American cannot partner with an enemy within, they must be removed and sent home.
