The hearings on the Benghazi attack are over. The eyewitnesses have given testimony that directly contradicts much of the administration’s narrative that they tried to establish in the aftermath. Four Americans are dead and there are many questions about what happened that night that still need to be answered.

Should Congress convene a select committee of congressmen and senators from both parties to try and get to the bottom of what happened?

As of today there are 139 Republican Congressmen and women who have co-sponsored H. Res. 36. I would hope that by this time next week we would add 50-60 more to that number; and if there were an ounce of decency anywhere in the Democrat Party, we would have 20 or more of them added to the list of co-sponsors as well.

YES. I want to know if there was an order to stand down given and by whom; or were the Ambassador and his people left merely to blow in the wind. I want to know if General Ham initiated a response to the attack and then was forcibly stopped, or not. I want to know who gave the order to feed a false narrative about an "offensive" video to account for the attack. I want to know why Obama told the UN just weeks later that the future does not belong to people who criticize Islam during his remarks reinforcing the video lie. Why does an American President trash our First Amendment Rights in front of an international body?

The decision was made when only 12 GOP House Members voted NOT to retain John Boehner as Speaker. Now that Boehner is Speaker it's surrender all the way down. When you hire a surrender monkey for a Speaker you get surrender.

Q: WHAT IS AT THE HEART OF BENGHAZI?
A: TREASON

Although Congress has seen 4 1/2 years of this administration, it still doesn't understand the kind of scum it's dealing with: 1) It was clear from the beginning that the crummy Mohammed video wasn't the cause of the Benghazi massacre. It was classic misdirection; 2) This use of this video was to divert attention from the fact that people who could've helped Americans in Benghazi were told to 'stand down'; 3) The 'stand down' order was given because the White House didn't want to draw attention to what was happening in Benghazi -- especially during an election 4) What was happening was treasonous; 5) It was treasonous because the WH, through cut outs (Saudi Arabia, Qatar), was arming al Qaeda to fight in Syria; 6) Al Qaeda is an enemy of the US; 6) A definition of treason is: "The betrayal of one's own country by ... consciously or purposely acting to aid its enemies." Any wonder why no one, yet, has been brought to 'justice'?
And, hell yes, I want a Select Committee. I don't want a Congressman grandstanding to advance his or her career. I want a prosecutor, who's trained at asking questions, to get at the truth.

A select committee will provide crisp evidence as each witness 's(much like Watergate) every word is weighed and where oath to tell the truth is paramount.

A llot of us believe that there is more to the story than simple incompetence. Why does the Obama administration try to prevent more witnesses from coming forwatd? They need to recall Clinton, Petraeus, get Dempsey, you guys know the drill better than I. Running arms, nothing but treasonists and thugs, YES, take them down.

Yes! I want to know why all the lives saved that night were saved by men who had to disobey orders to do so.

It is clear to me that Benghazi is a far more serious event than Watergate - and I believe the basic underlying reason for both was simply a desire for political advantage - disgusting - of course a completely empowered select committee should be created.

This is an important question. But I am curious why it has to be asked in the first place. The answer should be obvious. If the current Issa-led committee has the power to subpoena and place under oath ALL required witnesses, then there wouldn't seem to be a need for a different committee (which would take time and result in a loss of momentum). If they don't have the necessary powers then there would be a need for a different committee. Am I missing something?

Issa chairs the oversight committee. That job encompasses a whole bunch of things. A select committee has a narrower function, and it expires when its job is complete. The benefit of having a select committee is to show that there is a there, there. It's a statement that the issue has legs.

A good simile is the police force. They investigate all kinds of things. When something really big crops up, then they may form a special task force. When you hear "special task force", you know something is up, right?

If there is no further investigation of this Bengazi coverup why are there even lights turned on in the House and Senate of the United States? This is either a dictatorship or not. We will see. I am disappointed in the system here now. Are there no men with testicles?
