Taken from this week’s edition of PJM Political, Ed Driscoll interviews New York Times journalist Zev Chafets about his new book, Rush Limbaugh: An Army of One.

What makes a former disk jockey who single-handedly invented talk radio, and arguably (as El Rushbo believes) the Fox News channel tick? Who were some of his influences? What led to his period of prescription-drug dependency? Will the 2010 election be a referendum on Rush’s worldview? Driscoll and Chafets discuss these and many more topics in a 19-minute long interview.

Finely, Rush is getting it seems, I have not read the book yet, a fair brake from this Zev Chafets fellow. It’s about time. Rush is one of the most human and benevolent multi millionare’s you will ever meet. He is still well grounded on this planet, inspite of his millions.

A Rush classic the other day when he said

“We were promised the Messiah but so far all we have got is the “MESS” with no sign at all of the “IAH”"

Terrific interview with Zev Chafets! Guess I’m going to have to get the book. Rush is the greatest proponent for constitutional conservatism since William F. Buckly. Where Buckley would wryly tweak the idiocy of liberals and liberalism, Rush SKEWERS them.

Chafets, for all his fair and balance in the interview, still framed the 2010 election as a “Obama fail”, “hell no” position that Rush began the “resistance” with back in February 2009. Chafets either will not acknowledge or doesn’t know that the conservatives and Tea Party movements have coalesced around “lower taxes, slash the deficit, fiscal responsibility leading to a balanced budget, less regulation, repeal ObamaCare, grow the economy and support Arizona” as campaign themes candidates must pledge to in order to win support. Voters are not going to go to the polls with Rush Limbaugh’s hope for Obama’s policy failures on their minds when no one can “plug the hole” and the Federal government offers such a tepid response to the Gulf spill.

2010 and 2012 will not be a test of Limbaugh’s personal influence. It will be the candidates who succeed in those elections will have a firm understanding on the needs of the country and the lack of ability by the present administration to do an adequate job. Limbaugh will continue to be the observer of the political scene to put issues into context as he has for the last 20+ years.

Rush Limbaugh is an Amkerican Hero! Those of you that think otherwise should know that Rush is laughing all the way to the bank. Thanks Rush for being a man with CHARACTER with a great sense of humor.
