Our country, our unique culture is headed to the toilet. It began in the 60,s. Throw out the baby (the majority of good things we do) with the bathwater (the few mistakes we’ve made and are trying to remedy)
Life became easy in the ’60s. Turn on tune in…etc. abandon responsibility…and turn our normal rebellion against parents into a wholesale condemnation of any kind of common sense legal and cultural restraints. Concentrate on the bad things we have done (racism, robber barons of some industries, stupid public education system) and ignore our nationwide efforts to stop those bad things.
Plus there are lots of citizens who would love to see us go under just for the hell of it. My hope is that when the USA falls apart, there will be lots of ordinary people who will organize themselves into protective enclaves with common sense laws and where everyone has to work hard physically to survive. And the left wing, America hating, atheistic, left wing intellectual fools will have to change their ways or starve.

The ACLU has never had it as their goal to help anyone but the criminals and those that are discontent with our country. I worked managing a med. clinic at a prison in the 80′s, and watched as the ACLU changed the prison system and made it more dangerous to work there. At the time our government was sympathetic to the ACLU and they went wild and now there is no reigning them in . Acorn will be the same under B.O. We have allowed this to happen to us by voting for people to run our government who come into office with a far left agenda and no respect for the American citizen .

I don’t have a problem with our justice system. The question is which one should be used? In case you haven’t actually read the Constitution there are two acceptable justice systems in this country – civilian and military. Each operates under different rules and both are constitutional. The problem is that the two systems are not entirely compatible by design. The move from the military (which is the appropriate venue for these unlawful combatants) to the civilian is simply a poltical decision that has the misguided hope that it will serve to embarrass the past administration. What is will do is further damage our national security since the only way they will be able to even remotely secure a conviction is through the release of even more national security secrets (just review what happended with the first World Trade Center trials). In their blind and foolish attempts to try in abstentia the Bush Administration, the Obama fools have failed to calculate the political fall out that these trials will bring upon themselves.

shmoho, where in “our justice system and our constitution” does it say we have to grant jury trials to murderous scumbags who carry out military attacks on the United States? Do you think we need to Mirandize enemy soldiers on the battlefield before shooting at them? You probably do, that would suit your purposes just fine.

Furthermore, these trials are intended to be “show trials” and a mockery of justice. Democratic spokesmen, needing to cover their ass politically, have already said the perps will never walk free. So if they get off on technicalities or rules of evidence (probably weren’t Mirandized before the waterboarding) what is BO going to do then?

One of America’s most patriotic organizations, the ACLU, was invited by President Obama to convey to him their point of view about where to
try 9/11′s freedom fighters. After the presentation, the wonderful President Obama, seated informally next to Eric Holder, his top cop, agreed in
principle to try those unlawfully held U.S. authorities. i

New York City, the site of the legal proceedings will proceed as a federal law case, not a kangaroo court type military
tribunal.

As the trial ensues, spineless, short haired conservative wingnuts will begin to observe an emerging truth as Bush and his entire intelligence community shall, in effect, be put on trial, demonstrating their futility, racism, lack of Miranda warnings, patterns of lies and deceit, use of the most extreme forms of torture, lack of intelligence, hateful hearts and evidence tampering.

If not for the vision, honesty and fairness of President Obama, the real truth of 9/11 may never have seen the light of day.

If done correctly, this trial will serve as one more nail in the coffin of the United States as a symbol of truth and justice. And the population
of America will realize that Barack Obama is needed to fill a twelve year term rather than the four year term presently proscribed in the
Constitution. By the time this twelve year term ends, the visionary arm of the ACLU predicts that Obama’s federal government will own upwards of
90% of American businesses making more than five million dollars per annum as well as 100 percent of the major means of production in the United States. With those assets, the redistribution of wealth in America will become an accepted fact of life, primarily because the majority of the jobs in this country will be government controlled.

Separately, but just as importantly, the use and ownership of firearms in America, which, as Mayor Daley said, was largely responsible for the deaths at Ft. Hood, will be strictly limited to Obama security, certain designated police forces and a limited amount of vastly trimmed down mainly African American U.S. military divisions, the majority of which will be used to guard against domestic right wing attacks on American soil. What’s more, no new technological research will be conducted into even more powerful weapons systems, a decision that the nations of China and Russia are expected to agree with in principle.

Finally, the fairness and mercy shown 9/11 participants is expected to tell extremists of all strips that the United States desires to be your world partner, never your sworn enemy. If redistribution of America’s natural resources, medical and technological resources is needed by poorer, less powerful nations, President Obama will see to it that it will be done. All in good faith. All for the world good.

If you have been thinking of the United States as an independent, sovereign nation, answering to no one but the American people, you must realize that this period in our history is over. With the coming of Obama, we have become a responsible member of the world community. Naysayers either will accept this or be delt with by military tribunals under the theory that disbelievers represent a clear and present danger to the revised role of the United States in world affairs. In this millennium, countries the world over will exist for the betterment of the many, not the avarice and greed of the few.
