While I am not one of the fundamentalists that drove the party into a narrow channel of charter education and pro-life thought, by ignoring the warning signs of impending economic collapse and spending as wildly as the liberals, the GOP lost the faith of many conservatives. So how to repair things? Find good people who speak the plain truth. Don't try to tart them up as paragons, because I have a pretty good idea that after four years of undying media worship, people may be a little tired of perfection. I've never seen a media icon that the media eventually didn't bring to their knees. It's only a matter of time before Obama has his own Britney moment.
