RNC Protesters: Pushing the Narrative
It’s become obvious what the protesters mean by “changing the narrative” as I roam Tampa during the convention. They know, of course, that they are not going to change the minds of Republicans; confrontational anti-Romney traveling billboards (sponsored by the DNC) will not change anyone’s mind, nor will the recycled Occupy Wall Street themes. The Tampa protesters are instead using the Saul Alinsky tactics of demoralization by intimidation: make the Republicans angry, then taunt and mock their reactions. Psychological warfare.
No protester here appears interested in a debate or a dialogue, despite making the claim. On Sunday afternoon, a number of protesters embedded themselves in the audience of Scott Walker’s talk and simply disrupted him, just as they did at CPAC. They are here to shape the narrative, intent on shifting media focus to them and their message.
The protesters have forced the expenditure of public money for a 3,000-member police force drawn from 59 agencies because of threats from various groups. When only some 200 protesters showed up, they were able to place quotes on the evening news relating that the cautionary police presence reminded them of a “police state.”
I witnessed this impressive police force display the professionalism to shrug off taunts. One protester remarked: “The circus must be in town, the pigs are out,” and actually received a friendly joke in return. Which was wise, as the ACLU and National Lawyers Guild watchers were on hand, ready to get frivolous. ACLU distributed detailed brochures regarding protesters’ rights; the National Lawyers Guild watchers wore identifying hats to let everyone know they were there:
In Gaslight Park on Sunday, a protest displayed inscrutable vitriol towards the Republican Party. A sign read illogically: “Stop the Romney Economy. We are the 99%.” Is Romney currently controlling an economy?
A dozen or so Code Pink protesters — no longer terribly concerned about American soldiers dying in the Mideast as they were during the Bush years – railed against a “War on Women.” Their focus was on … vaginas.
Signs read: “GOP Respect Women” and “Vagina. If you can’t say it, don’t legislate it”:
Of course: no concern was expressed about a war on a conservative women, like Sarah Palin. The talk around Tampa for weeks before the convention was about the booming business that strip club operators hoped to receive from conventioneers. The mayor got in on the act with the club owners, and insulted his Republican guests by joking about a stripping Palin impersonator.
The “Republican hypocrisy” narrative was made to order for the media. The majority of delegates could be planning to attend prayer meetings, but the media have and will continue to imply that they are frequenting strip clubs. The private entrances were shown on nightly news programs, no evidence required of either booming business or conservative critics of the clubs being the clients. Local news programs, like Channel 10 News, simply ran with the implication: “Grand Ol’ Party: Strip Clubs Expect Busy Week During RNC.”

I see the green-hatted Sturmabteilung of the National Lawyers Guild are out making sure to catch any Republicans counter-protesting; or defending themselves in the face of vicious attacks by out of their mind, street-scum, agitators. They are about as concerned with justice as the Blue Helmets of a UN “Peacekeeing” force are.
The Lawyer’s Guild isn’t Nazi, it is communist, and proud of it. Better to look at the issues that are obviously going to be highlighted by the Democratic Party, already signaled in the mass media. The question for me, is who is paying for their transportation?

What would be the point? The media would only portray the DNC as ‘victims’ of people seeking to quash their free speech rights. GOP will be the bad guys in any story, anyway. Don’t pay attention to those thugs. Being ignored is what really drives them nuts.
Rest assured that most “protest” is actually lead by law enforcement, and the rest heavily infiltrated to ensure it goes nowhere. Also figure that a huge fraction is simply made-up by the media in order to push an agenda.
The amount of real dissent in America is less than anywhere else on the planet. Remember that the next time you hear the words “state-run media” used to describe foreign news.

Back when we still had a legitimate government it was a safe assumption that most “protest” groups were heavily infiltrated by FBI and other federal LE assets. There was so much infiltration that at times the line was pushed far towards incitement or even entrapment. In the Obama Junta, I don’t know how much there is with “friendly” protest groups. I’m sure there are Democrat assets coordinating “protest” activities with the Junta’s narrative, but I haven’t seen much evidence of law enforcement being directed towards any leftist group no matter how bad their behavior. After all, lefties are good people, good people don’t do bad things, therefore lefties don’t do bad things.

Abortion is a surgical procedure which should require the same regulations as any other surgical procedure. If you think a woman knows what she is getting into when having an abortion, you are wrong. It is a soul destroying thing to do to your unborn child that should never be just a woman’s decision with no regulation or understanding of what is involved. Neither does an abortion have any religion involved in either the business or medicine side. We all have the right to LIFE, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That is based on the founding of this country. Bad law by the court cannot dispute those principals. Killing our future citizens has ruined our culture as evident in the lack of respect for life at all stages.
Protecting pregnant women from harm is one thing. Using abortion as a form of birth control is quite another. This is the whole argument about whether abortion amounts to the taking of human life or not, which if it is, I think government on some level should have something to do with.
Well, if it’s not “life”, then by definition, the abortion would be unnecessary. And if it’s not “human”, then what is it? An arthropod? A giraffe?

I have been watching the Convention on PBS, because the people on Fox could not stop obsessing about the hurricane to focus on the convention. Not one word has been spoken about any protests or protesters. I have seen virtually nothing in the Canadian papers about the convention at all, and not one word about protests.
Clearly whatever they are doing isn’t working.

The reason you haven’t seen any problems is because our law enforcement doesn’t play here. They are prepared for all and have squelched attempts at disruption with mostly talking. Even the police chief, Jane Castor, managed to keep 50 protestors from tying up traffic for long by talking with them. There have only been three arrests as of yesterday. Rumor has it a lot of them are leaving for Charleston because they can’t get things done here because the bicycle cops are on them very quickly. I figured they were all talk especially our local resident racist of the New Black Panther Party, Michelle Williams. By the way, our citizens are armed and will stand their ground. Kinda ruins the party, yeah?
