President of Some of the People

Obama demonstrates his desire to lead not all Americans, but an exclusive group of sycophants who parrot the party line.

However, some elected representatives have not just been unresponsive to the concerns of their constituents; they’ve been downright hostile to them. The American people who elected these men and women to represent their interests in Washington are becoming increasingly frustrated. They are expressing that frustration at various town hall meetings with their representatives, yet these oft-insulated politicians simply don’t know what to do in response to their constituents’ outrage.

Instead of engaging them and listening to their concerns, they have responded by hiding from them, holding town halls over the telephone, or limiting the public’s access to their public meetings. Leading the charge against the people is their own president, who seems to have decided he does not want to to be the leader of all Americans, only his idolaters. Yet he demands those same Americans who are unworthy of his attention to pay for his agenda. This goes beyond the typical arrogance we have come to expect from this administration; it is taking the form of blatant contempt for the American people.

President Obama has resorted to Chicago-style brass knuckle politics of intimidation by declaring war on those who refuse to assimilate. First, he publicly smeared and insulted them like he did Sergeant Crowley by calling them “angry mobs” and their protests “manufactured.” At a political rally in Virginia last Friday, he referred to those who opposed his plans as the “folks who created the mess” and said that they shouldn’t “do a lot of talking.”

Then, in an act of blatant hypocrisy, he ordered up his own organized army of union members and Democrats to combat those citizens who were doing nothing more than legally expressing their views about the health care bills. Obama gave his troops their marching orders: “punch back twice as hard” at their opponents. Presumably that language was meant to be metaphorical, but it is indicative of a hostility on the part of the White House toward fellow Americans that is wholly unacceptable and unbecoming in their chief executive.

It seems, though, that some of Obama’s supporters in Service Employees International Union (SEIU) took that order literally when they physically assaulted a peaceful protester in St. Louis and put him in the hospital. What is especially disturbing is that the day after the attack, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius held a conference call with members of SEIU. She called them her “brothers and sisters,” praised their actions, and told them to “keep doing what you’re doing.” But perhaps Obama’s greatest indignity is his insidious snitch program that encourages his supporters to report their neighbors, family members, and friends when they publicly, whether through blog posts, emails, or in casual conversation, dare to dissent from the Obama party line on health care.

The president’s antics are an affront to the office and reduce him to nothing more than a bellicose, sleazy union boss who works only to advance the interests of his select members. And, sadly, just as Democratic-backed unions bankrupted Chrysler and GM, Obama and his union minions will, with their health care plan, end up bankrupting the nation.

Classic behaviour of the narcissist which Obama is in spades.

  2. 2. fnord

“They are learning that when they reach their sunset years they will be required to go their doctors for “end of life” counseling every five years. ”

Except they wont. That counseling is voluntary, not required. Its fair enough to disagree with the philosophy of Medicare, but lying and scaremongering is just annoying.

  3. 3. Yes We Did

Do you really believe that your vile, racist attacks on our new Leader will have any effect? In case you didn’t notice, we had an election last November. We won, you lost, and you will never get another chance.

President Obama rules this country now. Universal health care and the other parts of the Progressive agenda are “done deals”.

You racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic white males have oppressed women and people of color long enough. Your time has passed.

Just shut up and go away.

  4. 4. Anonymous

In ‘Yes we did’ # 3 you have the true face of the infantile Obambi worhiper ‘We won you lost’ na na na na nah, and you are all RACISTS cos you dont worship like we do and that is the sum total of this cretinous argument.

  5. 5. Pragmatist

    # 3 ‘Yes we did’ exposes the true face of the infantile Obambi worshiper. His whole cretinous argument can be summed up as ‘we won you lost’ na naH na nah Na and anyone who disagrees with us is a RACIST. Is it any wonder the Obamanation got elected when there are people of the ilk of ‘Yes we did’ who are allowed out of the asylum to vote.

    BHO:

    “AARP ENDORSED THIS PLAN.”

    AARP:

    “NO WE DID NOT!”

    lol..

I sit and imagine millions of seniors cutting up their AARP cards at 20 dollars per whack,
then calling their friends and neighbors and asking them to do it also.

Private and public health insurance companies know he has the kiss of death.

Talk about your pigs with lipstick.

I guess some people don’t recognize that #3
    is satire.

I know I can’t fight The Dear Leader but I plan to go up on my roof each night and shout:

    “Damn the Dictator!”

At least until Gore Global Cooling begins.

  8. 8. Jerry

It becomes clearer everyday the President Obama is nothing more than a product of the corrupt Chicago Democratic Machine.

  9. I notice that the left uses the construction, “President Obama rules the country now” as opposed to the more correct “governs”. Interesting.

  10. 10. Rob

Dear YWD, Delusional mindsets offer comfort and refuge from REALITY.Most Americans are not —ist or —phobic, merely pragmatic, independent minded and intensely proud of the American Experiment. Fortunately, elections and pols come and go, We the People persevere!

If you are a person of color or just an Obama supporter, your tone is not welcome.

If you are faking your persona, ‘Just shut up and go away.’

  12. 12. Formwiz

“Yes We Did” may, in fact, be sarcasm and satire. If not, (s)he does more than what Anonymous and Pragmatist say. (S)he shows us the mindset of his/her Dear Leader, as much as him/herself

  13. 13. Yes We Will

OMG, it’s Yes We Did, spouting his threats like he does on other blogs! hahahahaha

We thought you got locked in the basement accidentally by your mom; we hadn’t heard from you in awhile! hehe

We won’t shut up, and we won’t get out of the way, Yes We Did. Now what?

This guy got his pass into the upper class because of his father’s status, (I imagine even the Brits probably helped his pop to some extent funnel this kid through Hawaii’s loopholes an’ accessibility. Wherever the hell he was born, his father was a prominent Kenyan politician. That’s a big factor in who this guy is.) ..So he gets the red carpet approval at knowin’ what makes the moneyed folks in US tick…Now he’s tryin’ to set up “trust funds” (a health insurance pool), for his “peeps”(not even his really, but once again “moneyed” folks got their objectives in terms of keepin’ the peasants on the payrole )..You could probably distill outta his plans some sorta long term goal of laying groundwork for legalizing the marijuana economy, (Or at least tapping into it’s resources, I mean with “pot”, that’s jest inheritence money that’s floatin’ around waitin’ to be counted)….Of course that makes all the money invested so far on maintaining the stuff as “illegal” worth absolutely ZERO… (How much money is that down the tubes? Somebody bring me the figures on that! Check me out man, I’m Presidential!)….He’s doesn’t give a crud about the working folks who’re gonna end up payin for his “peeps” at the cost of they’re own sons and daughters….In fact, it serves his purposes to continue to advocate the dismantling of family values so that impulse is never cultivated (the one that says, I want my kids to live a better life then I did..thus gangsta rap)….He jest wants “more”…That’s what he learned from the moneyed folks. Never take “no” for an answer…even if it means “rape”. Maybe that’s what takes Mrs. Clinton inta the Dark Continent…that same moneyed inclination.

It’s that simple conniving, “never take “no” for an answer”, get yer foot in someone else’s door, salespitch… and pushing it as far it will go….Doesn’t matter if you have to steal, cheat, lie, rape, murder, break, laws, burn money, kiss butt, toady, start a mob, cry, beg, pout, bluster, use a gun, knife, a-bomb, drugs, sex, sweet talk, smarm, guile, gush, adulate, idolize, masquerade, do a song and dance, hire a cop, act infantile, feign incomprehension, stalk, rant, rave, spy, conspire, ..etc…but never take “no” for an answer…that’s jest not in the programming.

  16. 16. Ed Wallis

Let me chime in on #3 YesWeDid:

    Your rant is fascism incarnate.
Your rant is clicheed to a point of satire.

I would laugh, but I assume you naively “meant” what you wrote.

You show all here just what, and how much, HATE lies at the core of contemporary Leftism.

  17. 17. Metz

@ #2 fnord and #3 oh no you wont

If you truly believe that the productive members of society will allow all this so called “change” to take place, and you will be able to get everything you want and never have to earn any of it like the rest of us did, you are sadly mistaken.

The worst possible thing that could happen for you is that you get your wish. If America does “unevolve” into a Socialist country (similar to what California has already done), you will be left with nothing, as the people who actually have a work ethic, and believe that you advance in life through hard work and diligence, will leave. You will no longer have a tax base from which to usurp funds from for your grandiose schemes.

This is still America. You can have pretty much anything and everything you desire. You just have to go out and EARN it. Now get off your lazy ass, kiss Mom on your way out the door, and go get a job. Start contributing something before you start telling the adults what to do.

  18. 18. John Galt

” HR 3200 stipulates that, after the first year that the new health care laws are enacted, their private health insurance companies won’t be allowed to enroll any new customers, yet they won’t be able to change any terms of its conditions for their current customers.”

Can Directive 10-289 be far behind?

  19. Despicable idolaters like “Yes We Did” #3 and “fnord” #2 are examples of the typical types of thugs employed by Obama both during and after his election to try and shut up anybody that dares disagree with them. They are the lowest form of life because if you try and have an informed debate with them, all they do is call you a “racist” or an “sexist.” If you confront them with facts, they call you a “scaremonger.” And if you dare disagree with a socialist megalomaniac like Obama, then those same people who once used to rail about “illegal” wiretaps that the Bush administration used against KNOWN terrorists see absolutely nothing wrong with the White House asking you to snitch and turn in people if you hear anything “fishy” in some casual conversation. What a bunch of lying hypocrites you brainless Obama followers are. You may want to follow your fearless leader as he leads this country into financial ruin, but please, please, allow me my Constitutional right to disagree, protest, and condemn this charlatan we now have as president.

You can report me now if you wish to the White House. The only thing “fishy” here is what Obama is selling, and if you ultra liberals can’t smell it then that’s their problem, not mine. If you can’t see that heavy-duty healthcare rationing is heading our way if this healthcare bill is passed, then your either nuts or delusional. Just ask the people in Great Britain or Canada if there is no healthcare rationing. Those people would beg to disagree with you too. Are you going to report them to the White House as well?

  20. 20. Anonymous

Golly Yes We Did, when you registered to vote for the first time in 2008, didn’t they tell you that VOTING for someone doesn’t make you his buddy? All you did was vote. You don’t have to rise and fall with Obama’s poll numbers (well, forget the ‘rising’ thing, it’s all ‘falling’ from here). Americans disagreeing with him is not a personal attack on you. Chill the heck out, dude.

As for this article: yes, excellent and on point. I always referred to him as President Obama. After Friday, no more. He ceased to earn that term of respect from me when he told me to “shut up”–me, a productive member of society who he must depend upon to fund his unconstitutional schemes.

What is his strategy here? Does he want to fail, and fail monumentally? Does he think marginalizing, attacking, and vilifying the majority of his own countrymen and women is a good idea?

At any rate, pass the popcorn. I think before the month is over, the real show is going to begin.

  21. 21. Pragmatist

If indeed it true (and I doubt it) that #3 was trying to be sarcastic what a surprise it must be to ‘libtards; that the sort of mental instability and illogical hatred expressed there is TYPICAL of left wing moonbats. This is not hatred on our part merely sadness at seeing the depths of illogical blind worshiping depravity ‘libtards’ are capable of. Someone suggested the writer may be Black that is possible or another alternative would be a man hating left wing Lesbian.

  22. 22. Aureliano

In all probability Yes We Did is engaging in satire.

A note concerning narcissism: It is a notoriously fragile state of mind. It is probably Obama’s greatest weakness. All one need do is criticize him and he will have an extremely difficult time keeping himself from lashing out, and as President every time he lashes out he makes enemies unnecessarily. In this sense he is easily manipulated, and God help him if the press ever turns on him (not that the current iteration of an activist Democrat press corps is capable of this).

And oh Lord, if you ever corner him rhetorically and follow it up with genuine, heartfelt, and justified RIDICULE … well, what did Saul Alinsky have to say about ridicule?

  23. 23. Paul -Indiana

I think that these town meetings amount to ‘end of term’ counseling. Have you noticed that the pols don’t like it?

  24. 24. mart

It amazes me that so many people, professional and amateur, comment in rational terms about anything this poseur, (BHO), does as POTUS. He is motivated, driven, directed, controlled etc. as no one before, a true Manchurian candidate, spawned by forces in and out of the US, all anti- and un-American, (Soros et al), with lies, criminality, thuggery (Chicago style), self-dealing abuse of our freedoms and liberty and every nefarious means available to bring this USA down while “they” prosper and build their fortunes. Foreign policy is less affected. While Israel is being tossed under the bus, most of what will be done shall be a continuation of “W”; to do otherwise would risk rebellions much more extensive than the Tea Parties and the health care opposition. Still, his Muslim orientation and past associations have yielded the apologies and weaknesses al over the world which, of course, will serve us no good.

  25. 25. Anonymous

Keep on repeating those lies, and somebody is bound to believe them.

I would like to see just one critique of health reform that doesn’t involve misrepresenting the president’s plan and lying about the consequences.

Is that too much to ask?

    Peace.

    RE #3, Yes We Did.

“you will never get another chance.”?

“President Obama rules this country now”?

Why wont we get another chance? Who rules this country? I thought that in a Democracy the people are the rulers.

Yes We Did, you have a very shaky grasp of the Constistution.

  28. 28. Stella

#3 is just mirroring Obama. This is what you get when an immature, inexperienced, snobby, hateful man is elected.

  29. 29. Kazooskibum

The Democrat Party is a criminal enterprise. Pass it on.

  30. 30. Ruebacca

What amazes me is how much you can lie to a democratic voter. The Democrats Presidential campaign was all about who could sling zingers the best. John Edwards gets a boobie prize in my book for remaining poker-faced with a love child in the closet. Obama won the lying contest because he sounded so sincere telling us about his “middle class tax cut”. This was the the same lie Bill Clinton told in 1992. Tax cuts is one of the hardest lies for a Democrat to say. Senator Kerry knew he could not pull off that lie and sound sincere.

Obama’s problem is republicans are still waiting for Bill Clinton’s tax cuts.

With this line, Barack Obama sold himself to the Democratic base who were in a sort of political wasteland after a hard-fought election in 2000. He seemed like a true uniter, someone who could win the hearts and minds of Democrats, independents, and moderate Republicans<<

    ————–
He never seemed like a uniter to me.

There was enough stuff about his pre Senate days available though most of it he continues to keep hidden, where it was clear exactly what kind of President he was going to be.

What led to this mess we now find ourselves in is that the independent and right wing media bought of on this guy a year ago without getting the true message about him out to their readers.

There were others like me who already knew by last August what kind of President he would make but these were like myself individual bloggers with a very small following.

There is no question that the independent and right wing media totally dropped the ball on this one.

It was easy to see where the MSM was going to stand on Obama even before the won the nomination. So I don't fault them for being what they are. They have been true to their colors and continue for the most part to cover up for and fawn over Obama like the true radical left wing synchophats that they are.

However, the independent and right wing media has no excuse for dropping the ball on Obama. The information was out there but they got suckered in by his teleprompters and suits.

Hopefully this will be a lesson learned by them.

    Check the background first.

  33. 33. AThinkingPerson

I think whether Obama was your candidate of choice back in November or not, we should ALL be alarmed how how divisive he has turned out to be. Rather than framing the current health care arguments with “Let’s all come together and find some common ground since we all feel strongly about this.”, Obama has basically told half (at least) of the country to shut up. There used to be a respect for the office of the President but Obama doesn’t even garner that from me. He has shown that he cannot transcend race or color or creed. He cannot be a President for all Americans. He owes too many debts that he is repaying at the expense of the greater good.

Obama unfortunately had a great change to stick it to the GOP and make them look awful if he had offered a bargaining table that the GOP might refuse to participate in. Instead he has given the GOP a huge window of opportunity by not even offering a chair at ANY healthcare debate.

  34. 34. colateral damage

Obama’s hostility has reached a boiling point over the past few weeks and finally culminated in his comments on Friday where he essentially told those who oppose his radical takeover of health care to shut their mouths.

His intent is clear: the real Barack Obama isn’t interested in being president of the United States; he wants to be president of an exclusive group of Americans made up of sycophants who parrot the party line.

….IS THIS WHAT YOU ARE IN FOR TROLLS ?? you think there will be something special for you in this marxist utpoia ??

you trolls will have the same tire marks on your back when you get thrown under the bus …but the funny thing is you will make excuses for that too.

Wow, The Gullibles are out in force already – denying the common good in favor of vapid conservative principles, defending free speech they don’t believe in for others, championing the right to go boldly forth in ignorance and victimhood that shade their desperate attempt to regain the only thing that truly matters to them – power. This must be costing Murdoch a fortune.

  38. 38. Sebastian Shaw

President Obama’s out of control ego & narcissism once more rears its ugly head.

Watch Senator Specter’s town hall as a stark contrast to the carefully contrived fake town hall made by President Obama; they are 2 separate realities–one is the real world (Specter) & the other is just plain lies & fantasy (Obama). However, Obama prefers fantasy over the real world. He’s been living in his fantasy world for quite some time since he is only surrounded by sycophant yes-people.

President Obama, at his rotten core, is a corrupt, selfish man looking to considate more power for himself. Period. The health care bills are one avenue for more power. He will literally say anything for more power. Don’t believe anything he says. He lies often.

I am glad most people are waking up to this phony poseur. Obama’s mask will shatter in time; it has started to slip.

One other feature of the bill that is not receiving enough attention is that 2.5% rule. Seems most people think that penalty will be charged only to people who don’t have insurance.

But, if you read the bill closely, it also applies to people who have insurance, but their plan does not meet the requirements of Obamacare. So, if your plan doesn’t play by the government’s rules, you will still be fined the 2.5%, even though you are already insured.

It is the duty of the politician-in-chief to get himself re-elected. That may be why our POTUS stays in non-stop campaign mode. This one has selected his primary audience, and of course, that is to whom he serves. One would hope that his electorate is not his exclusive audience nor the focus of the presidential service.
It may well be that BHO with his often stated anti-profit and tax the rich, class warfare, and change the economy right now agenda may become a footnote in history as “the most polarizing president.”

I am not defending Bush. but this guy Obama is dishonest. AND YOU ARE EITHER DISHONEST OR STUPID.

  50. 50. Bear

Obama’s (or should I say Congress’) plan requires quite a bit of faith on the part of those that favor it. I have nothing against reform to address some of the points in the plan, but the hidden agenda in this is so obvious that I find it unbelievable that anyone buys into it as written.

The weasel wording in the document alone should cause concern…the end game is obvious.

Throw your facts and figures out, but the long term implications won’t change. This is awish list (and not a very good or complete one) with no consideration of what it will do during the transition (and hidden cost).

I do believe however that something will pass. That’s when things will get interesting

  51. 51. Nobody

#3 Automatically lost the argument when it resorted to the tired, childish labels of “racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic”. This happens when leftists are incapable (or unable) to refute people with facts. BTW #3, YOU are racist.

Which, if you think about isn’t surprising, since videotape didn’t exist when Marx was around and since their hero is right about everything, his lack of mention of videotape means it doesn’t exist. By trying to bring together all people, Obama was talking about people of good will, not the wingnut morons.

“People of good will”. That sounds like a bunch of Leninist “vanguard of the proletariat” type horse-doody (man, I hate these new PJM posting rules. You know what I mean.)

Anyway, apparently, “wingnut moron” is the hot new group to join. I guess “liberal douchebag” is losing its appeal. You know, among “people of good will”, anyway.

Man, when Bush’s policies got this low level of support, the Left was shouting it from the rooftops, in their usual whiny, screechy way that we’ve all come to know and hate.

The can still pass ObamaCare, of course. The only price they’ll pay is losing Congress. Hmmm, principle or power? Which will they choose? Not sure, but I hope the battle to decide splits their party in two.

A July 31 Gallup Poll found that just 20 percent of Americans aged 65 and older believe health care reform would improve their own situation, noticeably lower than the 27 percent of 18- to 49-year olds and 26 percent of 50-to-64-year-olds who say the same.

Is that too much to ask?”

Why no, it is not too much to ask. Assured of failure as far as you are concerned because your mind is already made up and your request in insincere, dear commenter, I will try.

Fact. Medicare/Medicaid are going broke. They cost too much. They are being robbed by the unscrupulous. The government has shown that it can’t stop the theft and mismanagement. They are hard to deal with as a bureaucracy.

From all appearances this “bill” (does not really exist as a bill except as a draft, or several drafts) is designed to create over time a a kind of really, really big Medicare/Medicaid. It will go broke. It will be robbed blind, as are M/M. It will be mismanaged and inefficient. It will be a really, really big bureaucracy and, as such, a nightmare to deal with (see “The Castle” by Franz Kafka).

  58. 58. Sebastian Shaw

Several of the bills in the House & Senate are purposely left vague–despite the specific sections–so President Obama’s czars can fill in the blanks once they are passed. Does that make anyone feel better? I get a chill down my spine just thinking about it.

All the President Obama endorsed bills should die. No compromise.

  59. 59. AThinkingPerson

I do think it’s interesting to note the type of people who were lured in by Obama’s HopeNChange farce. I think it’s safe to assume they are uneducated, easily swayed by snake-oil salesmen and have low self-esteem. They also have a propensity to project their hatred for Obama onto those that didn’t buy the BS in the first place.

I take their venom as a badge of honor. Reminds me that I am indeed NOT easily bought off by the promises of a false prophet waving a carrot on a stick. It’s good to be me. Anyone else feeling smug and superior lately?

Obeyme believes in partial birth abortion and is against providing medical care to infants who incredibly make it through an abortion and are born alive.
I have always been in favor of a woman’s right to choose, but both these procedures are beyond inhumane.
I think anyone who continues to drink the koolaid should research partial birth abortion and the born alive bill, and those who would continue to support this man after becoming informed should be subject to witnessing a partial birth abortion or watching a newborn die over 8 hours in a soiled linen basket in a supply room.

Sorry but this simply is not true. He stated his plan clearly during his campaign, his goal is to create a single payer government run healthcare system. He stated this clearly! His supporters and members of congress continually discount the fact he said this, but anyone with internet access knows that he did.
He stated the we wouldnt get there all at once, but we would get there! Amazing, because that is exactly what experts say the bills running around congress would ultimately lead to…. exactly as he stated his goal was.
Healthcare needs reform… almost everyone agrees there is lots of room for improvement… there are also lots of ways to get there WITHOUT government provided healthcare… so toss that out members of congress, then we can get to work discussing the details.

Ahh… Isn’t it easy to bleat about the “common good” when your “generosity” is derived from the state at the barrel of a gun? But then, I guess pretending that Mr. Soetero’s bills are anything other than patronage & generational theft is better than facing up to the truth.

Yes, Obama and Co. want you to think they don’t have an endgame in mind and that they are just thinking one step ahead. BS. They’ve got a long-term plan and this is just one milestone along the way. It’s a variant on the old “Fabian Socialism” strategy, adapted to American conditions.

If you cannot support the below amendment then you cannot in good conscious vote to approve this bill.

    1) UPON THE PASSAGE OF NATIONAL HEALTH CARE BILL IT IS RESOLVED THAT ALL MEMBERS OF CONGRESS AND THEIR FAMILIES ARE REQUIRED TO BE SOLELY COVERED BY THE GOVERNMENT PROVIDED HEALTH CARE PLAN.

    2) CONGRESS AND THEIR FAMILIES MAY NOT HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL INSURANCE PLAN OR PRIVATE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM APPLIED TO THEM EVEN IF THEY PAY FOR IT THEMSELVES.

The trolls are changing. We have a few varieties. First the idiot savants, like the mentally infirm strapped to bombs by Saddam Hussein’s army exploding their innards because they aren’t smart enough to know better.

Second the “straw men” who offer up false choices, it’s pass this bill or we’re all going to die. This group is at least creative. Take for example Now and Then in his response to Deborah. She must decide on the benefit of all lawyers without consideration of those who abuse medical torts and drive up costs. Framing the argument this way generates a lot of heat but absolutely no light, the best simile for this type of troll is “gastroentrological dystrophy”, or if you prefer a “fart infarction”. Now or then, here’s your strawman choice, which do you perfer, you must pick one – either you are a GD or a FI.

The third type of troll is Egyptian because he spends all his time on De Nile. “No Obama never did say he wanted a single payer system, you can keep your old insurance” nevermind that you will pay a FINE and a big one. BTW the IRS is the enforcer on that one. Or my personal favorite “Name one thing that is wrong with this bill without lying.” Hardeeharhar. Look anywhere that discusses the dern thing and you can use your own eyes. Unfortunately they must be connected to a brain. Troll #3 sadly is missing one or both of those items. How about the access to private bank accounts of every American? If that is ok with you then you don’t have one.

The fourth type of troll is a salient liar and loves it. It’s his job to spread misinformation. He either pretends to be a racist conservative or he repeats easily disprovable assertions impervious to reality. Sadly, some on his side of the issue read his words and say “Yeah, good one.”

One thing is for sure, the left is reeling. Seeing them rocked this far back on their heels would be great but for the price of admission to this show.

Boy that is rich! There goes those liberals projecting again. Your desription of what motivates conservatives is almost spot on for what truly animates liberals. It’s all about power. You guys want power over as many aspects of a persons life as you can get. George Orwell described the hierarchy that Obama desires to create in 1949 in the novel 1984.

In this Progressive Utopia, that is a massive system of Dystopia, there are are three groups; the Proles who are not affiliated politically and work at menial subsistence jobs. The next group represents the party members: the party members are in constant subservience of Big Brother and work at government jobs with a higher status. The next group are the Elites, they have money, control, and power.

The only way for a party member to be accepted as an elite is to be a Zealot or a Useful Idiot. Everyone spes on everyone else, much like Obama’s report bad email program. Young Children are groomed to be Useful Idiots and Elites by being involved in The Young Spies. They are required to report on neighbors, friends, and relatives; so no one can relax their patriotic zeal for Big Brother or they risk suffering torture and death as part of the program of being rehabilitated. Of course false accusations happen routinely, since informers are rewarded for catching someone.

The fictional country is constantly at war, this helps keep everyone’s attention focused toward a common enemy. It is surprising how the Global Warming Hoax is similar to the non-existent war in the novel.

Orwell had the Progressive Socialist Hells of Stalin and Mao to base the Progressive hell of the novel. I recommend that all Patriots read the novel, it will help understand the Progressive methods toward Socialism and Communism, and to have insight into why seemingly intelligent people are so anxious to lead us into oppression and slavery. Acorn, Unions, and other thugs are hoping to become members of that inner core of Elites to enjoy untold wealth and power, while the rest of us live in poverty and fear. These are the dreams of the Progressive, you should be familiar with your enemy to defeat him. Read the book on a weekend, once you start, you wont be able to put it down and once you finish you wont be able to sleep.

Remember, the Liberal Progressive operates on the assumption that he knows how you should live your life and you will live your life by the formula or you will die! Nice people! They insist that Slavery is Freedom and that Freedom is Slavery: that war is peace and peace is war; that 2+2=5; if you find this logic hard to grasp, you are not a Liberal.
Read the book, Orwell explains the Progressive much better than me.

Agreed, however I believe this can be done without government provided healthcare…. the existing system does have flaws which need repair BUT keep the government out as much as possible. The government screws up just about everything it touches beyond measure. I love the fact that the government calls the healthcare industry inefficient. Is there any entity less efficient than government? i.e. the school system, post office, social security, medicare, military programs, public road projects, ESA, disaster relief etc etc.

Elections have consequences. If you really can’t wait 4-8 to get your raggedy band of scandal-ridden GOP nutcases back into office, maybe you ought to consider the notion that Representational Democracy is just not the system for you.

The great irony of the Obama presidency is that the deep south – which is the poorest, most uneducated part of the country and which has the most atrocious health care system in the country – will benefit from the stimulus money and health care reform more than any other part of the nation, and yet the deep south will continue to hate President Obama anyway simply because he’s a black Democrat.

Have you checked the so-called enlightened North recently? Have you taken a casual walk through Harlem recently? Have you been to Watts and the Southside of Los Angeles recently and walked the streets? Have you been to the backwaters of the slums in Chicago, East St. Louis, Detroit, Philadelphia, and all of the major cities across America? Want to talk about racist, bigoted, ignorant, uneducated, poor, unhealthy residents, and all of the attributes you so willingly assign solely to the deep South? First, clean up your own damn backyard, then come to ours and criticize.

Being a black Democrat has nothing to do with my distrust of the man. I don’t trust a liar, be he/her white, black, brown, or any other color. Pigmentation of skin doesn’t excuse actions or lies. If you are too far gone to know his lies, do about 10 minutes of actual research and it will open your eyes. Start with his original lie about accepting federal funding for his campaign, suckering McCain into signing and afterwards, Obama refused to honor his word. It is all downhill from there.

As far as benefiting from stimulus money, ask the citizens who went about weatherproofing homes for the poor. They have spent their own funds and time but so far, not one dime has been paid out of the $5 billion allocated. Why, paperwork, red tape, federal wage requirements, minority participation requirements, and so on and so on. The money is still unspent, the people doing the work yet to be paid, and their money is running out. So, don’t preach to anyone about the damn stimulus money saving our butts. It is an example of another government program run by inexperienced and immature ideologues.

Hey, buddy, if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck….

“According to Del Ali of Research 2000, if … if you look only at white voters in the South—the number of people who doubt Obama’s citizenship is higher than the 47 percent figure that has grabbed headlines today. “There was no deviation in the number of black, Hispanic, and other voters from one region of the country to another,” Ali told TWI. In the South, like everywhere else, the vast majority of non-white voters said that Obama was born in the United States; 97 percent of black voters, 87 percent of Hispanic voters, and 88 percent of other minorities. The extremely low overall percentage? That’s due to white Southerners, who dragged down the average with an extremely high level of doubt about Obama.

So what proportion of Southern whites doubt that Obama is an American citizen? While Ali did not release the racial breakdowns for the the South, and cautioned that the margin of error in the smaller sample of 720 people would be larger than the national margin of error (2 percent), the percent of white Southern voters may be higher than 70 percent. More than 30 percent of the people polled in the South were non-white, and very few of them told pollsters that they had questions about Obama’s citizenship. In order for white voters to drive the South’s “don’t know” number to 30 percent and it’s “born outside the United States” number to 23 percent, as many as three-quarters of Southern whites told pollsters that they didn’t know where Obama was born.”

The great irony of the Obama presidency is that the deep south – which is the poorest, most uneducated part of the country

All that lack of education may be true, but they are still smart enough not to want to go where Obama wants to take the country.

Ironically, if you break the south down even further, into ethnic and racial categories, I would bet my bottom dollar that the most poorly-educated would be southern blacks, yet they voted for Obama almost exclusively.

Using a simple variable like education is never going to capture the reason why someone votes for someone. I would bet my last dollar of my nearly $200K in student loan debt that I’m far, far more educated than you and I dislike Obama just as much as the most illiterate southerner you could find. Why? Like I said above, I outgrew my Marxist phase, so seeing it preached from the Oval Office does nothing for me.

    108. venividivici: “Ironically, if you break the south down even further, into ethnic and racial categories, I would bet my bottom dollar that the most poorly-educated would be southern blacks, yet they voted for Obama almost exclusively.”

And yet you have absolutely no evidence to back up that claim. So in essence, you are saying that based upon your own meaningless bull**** opinion, white people are smarter than black people.

I thought you conservatives were all “post-racial” now?

If we’re going to be spewing baseless assumptions, I would bet my bottom dollar that a black President is God’s little way of giving all His southern prodigal sons a divine wedgie for bad behavior.

I didn’t say “smarter”, you did. Your original point was education. If you think you can find statistics that show higher educational attainment among blacks than whites in the southern US, be my guest. In the real world (and I’m not saying it’s not unfortunate that there are racial disparities, just that it’s a fact), what I said is pretty much the conventional wisdom.

If we’re going to be spewing baseless assumptions, I would bet my bottom dollar that a black President is God’s little way of giving all His southern prodigal sons a divine wedgie for bad behavior.

Highly doubtful and even less backed by fact than my assertions about educational attainment and Obama voting patterns.

Are you new to arguing, because you aren’t very good at it. It does take a while to develop some skill, so if you’re new, I’ll take that as the base of your problem and not some cognitive limitation.

    100. Steve Sampson: I just downloaded “1984″ the other night and read to chapter 8. It’s been a good read so far. I can visualize many of the details in the book that are present in today’s America (noteworthy thus far is the “memory hole”). I would suggest that you read “Animal Farm”. It only took me a couple of hours and was enormously instructive.

There’s an old saying that goes, “Stupid is as stupid does.”

    109. Marklar: Personally I like statistics and facts. I’m not sure if you do or not, but here goes: Stat/fact: blacks drop out of high school at a rate of approximately 50% nationwide. There are a couple of possible reasons for this: 50% of blacks are too stupid to be able to finish high school and/or they’re too stupid to realize that they jeopardize their future by doing so. We must all agree here that to drop out of high school is stupid…

I had the misfortune of linking to the pjmedia site through an article on slate.com that addressed the current situation in Iran. I hadn’t heard of it before that, and was curious to see what kind of viewpoint is the currency here. I am not impressed. This first article won’t be my last, I’m curious to see if the vein of self-denying racism is consistent through other posts, but I can say this: the commenters for this particular article probably know how to shout the pledge of allegiance at a town hall meeting.

If anyone thought for a second that progress had been made in the United States between “white” america and anyone unfortunate enough to be born non-white, even with the election of a (half) African-American president, that delusion would be quickly dispelled here. I admit I wouldn’t have been surprised to see a poster named “whitepower” or some derivative thereof. I haven’t found that moniker yet, but the sentiment is present enough.

also, to venividivici: just so we’re clear, from what I have read you are $200k in the hole for your “education,” you went through a “Marxist stage” but outgrew it, and you aren’t new to “arguing.” Ok, I guess that about sums it up.

and to Jeffery, #90: God meant for us to be free and free thinking? Maybe the brilliant but indebted intellectual venividivici, who knows Latin it must be said, can help you with the contradiction in that statement.

To #3 Yes We Did There is a spaceship leaving from your local post office tonight at 11:00 PM; be on it!

Everyday we awaken to another dictate from the phony president. Today I learned that a Bill was slipped through Congress on the Friday that was the day recess began. Our elected officials were in such a hurry to wrap up their work on the Hill that they would have signed anything! Therefore we now have a “Livable Communities Act” that will be run by the government. There it is again! Run by the government! Pretty soon we will all be working for the government.

This imposter has to go! People need to become vocal on and off the computer. Let your Congressmen know that you are not happy with this administration and email the White House how you feel about the ‘change.’

Nothing will not change unless you make your feeling known by those who are directly involved.

I have news for you! We have a “non-white” President! He’s at least “half-white” anyway. But he refuses to embrace his white heritage while he has has fervently embraced his “blackness”.

But that’s okay with me. It’s cool as long as he has the best interests of the country at heart.

Also, you said you linked from Slate, a leftist website. Did you think that leftists would comment here-considering their leftist-slanted opinion of the resident article?

    Good luck, and good bye!

honestjon, how simple your world must appear. lefties here! righties there! good guys and bad guys! just out of curiosity, are you wearing a little cowboy outfit right now? with your little six shooters strapped on? how darling! obvs you wouldn’t be an “indian,” one of the real “americans.”

re: the fact that we have a 1/2 black potus: isn’t that a sign of the great uprising of the unwashed, unworking sponging masses? how is that progress? that “they” (the great OTHER who’s always making it so tough for whitey!) was finally able to find the voting booth? yes! progress! into marxism!! (que ominous music here) oooooo!

and slate is a leftist website?! hahahahaha that’s funny for two reasons: because it shows that you haven’t seen an actual “leftist website,” and that nobody wants to claim slate.com as their own. really, slate leftist. even for the comments here that’s the most amazing thing I’ve read all day. amazingly uninformed anyway.

honestly, jon, isn’t seeing things in such black and white terms the real problem here. blacks (read: nonwhites) & whites. us & them. good guys &… well, you get the picture. or hopefully you will someday

This is getting to the point of no return. Everyone is talking about Socialism and Marxism, but look at america, It’s divided in every aspect of the way, Gender, race, religion, leftist or right, democrat or republican, rich or poor, educated or uneducated… In everyday we find a way to seperate and divide ourselves. We look to show these differences in our everyday dealings..

I figured if Obama was the president it will be despised and full of controversy forever. It’s evident that those “red states” those in the south are not for Obama… Why? The mere black voted didn’t get him elected. So race will be the issue. Then here come the “Birther’s” (what that is I don’t know) but these people want to find some way to alleviate from the fact that the president is black; so something has to be devious about that… It is apparent that this and all other discussions won’t let up do to this presidents’ race.. and that is sad..

I will leave you with this.. No man is perfect and no man knows how to be a president, that isn’t something you can go to school and learn.. and lastly for centuries..

You cannot solve capitalistic problems with democratic principles…

This is something that has always been tried throughout presidencies, but it can’t be done…

Yeah, try that in south Chicago around where Cabrini Green used to be.Tell them your “Down with
the struggle” and “Fighting the power”.

Face it, the lessons of Cabrini Green are:Epic Fail. The problem of giving it away,Big “O” is
from there, why would he not get it? I mean we gave and gave,High-rises to live in,run and
fixed by the gov’t,food stamps, there was no need to pay/earn.Where could it go wrong?

  118. 119. Anonymous

point taken, steveofthenorth, sorta. whatever south chicago conditions you site in .118 don’t necessarily translate to the national stage, do they? one poster said it all: no one knows how to be president going in. should obama’s experience in chicago be the defining lesson’s from which he draws to make decisions on the national/internt’l stage? and for the record, he didn’t make this mess, he inherited it. and neither did the dems solely push our country to this place. when did they ever enjoy the kind of hegemony that would allow them to dictate without opposition? never. and don’t bother with “but the New Deal blah blah blah.” we weren’t there and everything we read is spin for the sake of agenda. every point you make against FDR is rebutted by the subsequent decades of unprecedented prosperity you, consciously or otherwise, use as a watermark now. can’t have it both ways, friendo

your post #88 sounded sadly utopian. it suggests a lack of understanding of human nature combined with an insensitivity to the reality of the world. so here’s the truth: every second you experience is the best you can ever expect to live, and it will never be that good again. the world we know is coming apart, and all the laissez faire capitalists and all the small gov’ts will never put it back together, because it never really was together in the first place

also, “corporations under control and watched?” jesus, grow up man

Interesting that many of the comments about Obama’s divisiveness were also said about Bush. He also claimed to be a uniter, then while in office operated strictly from the right. At least so far, Obama has not fired people for being dems or being too soft on dems, unlike bush and the state attorneys. The author had me seriously thinking about some points, then blatantly lied again about the whole end of life counseling issue. That is what I do not get…when some of these health bills have such serious flaws, why simply make stuff up? I do have concerns that insurance companies will be put out of business, but I also have concerns about their 150% profits, their huge bonuses, their refusal to insure folks who have been sick etc etc. What it does seem to me is that it does not matter who is in office, the goal of the other party is to obstruct. The dems did it when Bush was in office, and the Repubs are doing it now. Both are too beholden to special interests and neither really seems willing or able to do what is best for this country. Surely there is some compromise somewhere…a bill that provides some kind of reasonable health care for a reasonable price. I think a public option is good provided there are some safety features. If some of these silly requirements were eliminated, if people were guaranteed in writing they could keep their current coverage, if the current coverage did not have to meet the public option standards, if the wording was changed to say that end of life counseling is OPTIONAL, and is between the dr and the patient( that is what it is, but the fearmongers have scared folks, so it needs to be said in plain language), if insurance carriers could not deny people with preexisting conditions….if some of those changes were made, would most here agree to those kinds of plans? Or do all who have insurance simply dont want others to have the opportunity to have affordable care? (We got ours, who cares about anyone else?) For all who oppose any kind of reform, be careful…you never know when you might get sick, or lose your job. Is it really ok for people to lose everything because they get sick? Is it really ok that people have to choose between a prescription that may save their life, or whether they become homeless? I for sure do not have the answers, but simply running around like thugs( dem and repub thugs alike) is not helpful.

I am tired of hear of him every day and to hear his stupidities, and remarks from a self-center, narcissist, corrupted politician. Not only I hear the chanting from Reid and Pelosi blaming everything to somebody else other than them I also need to hear him every day. Enough! This country will better of with out his so called speeches of hate towards America and our freedoms, and everything need to be fixed.
