Wonderful! I really enjoy listening to you two talk shop.
If Hollywood, whatever that is, has rediscovered patriotism, whatever that is, the “Getting of Wisdom” informs that fictions produced by self-appointed self -propagating shepherds of populations even if as entertaining pastime, remain fictions. That humans cannot bear too much reality is boon to other humans aiming for power over the lives of others.
Hollywood as brother in arms to evangelical shepherds of men such as Jerry Falwell and his ilk, Jeremiah Wright and of course now the Messiah. The thraldom of many Hollywood demi-gods with their adoring hallelujahs to their Messiah Obama leads many of the flock into the same worship of this Obama who seems to walk on water. To top off the fiction there’s a convenient major Satan, a bit long in the tooth as Satan but to true believers he’ll do, in George W. Bush. The story played often enough, even daily at times, in full colour that it is actually credited as non-fiction by many benighted naifs.
Odd isn’t it that Hollywood biggies/glamourous stars and politicians who deem themselves as “left-wing” whatever that is, are such happy playmates in their exclusive clubs. Hollywood and “rediscovery” of patriotism? Why now? With what intention to already enthralled and captive populations. Should we remain sceptical, remember that “fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice…?
Ask not what you can do for your country, but what Hollywood intends for you with their rediscovery of patriotism. Patriotism to what?
