Political Correctness Kills: Study Shows How Terrorists Infiltrate U.S. Government
There is a very important — one might even say life-and-death — distinction that should be made in considering U.S. counterterrorism policy. Certainly, U.S. forces have had many successes in stopping intended terrorist attacks against the United States. Yet there have also been a number of failures. How to distinguish what made the difference?
The successes in the post-September 11 era have come when the techniques of police and military work or intelligence-gathering were used against full-time terrorists. Indeed, an observer could sum up the handling of terrorism in the United States in the almost-decade since September 11 by saying there have been no major attacks, and the policy has been successful.
When it comes to organizations planning attacks, this approach works very well. But when the threat involves individuals or small groups being radicalized and perhaps joining or supporting terrorist groups, the record is much worse.
The weakness is in analysis, profiling, decision-making, and understanding the nature of the enemy ideology. As a result, there have been a number of smaller attacks, including some not counted at all by a government that wants to keep its batting average high, and some near-misses that were averted due more to luck than to skill.
In addition, a huge amount of money has been wasted and effort misdirected, as many are coming to see regarding the current methods of airport security.
In understanding these vital issues one can read no better work than Patrick Poole’s 10 Failures of the U.S. Government on the Domestic Islamist Threat. (Patrick Poole is a frequent PJM contributor.)
He provides ten case studies, each of which is hair-raising, and none of which, arguably, has led to major corrective action. At the root of each one is a failure or refusal to comprehend revolutionary Islamism or the bureaucratic fear of taking on the enemy. Moreover, some cases show how the other side has even gained political influence in America.
Consider Abdulrahman Alamoudi, the Muslim leader who most frequently visited the Clinton White House. Poole rightly describes Alamoudi as:
The most prominent Islamic activist leader in America at the time, he had infiltrated the highest levels of political power. … [He was asked] by the Defense Department to establish the military’s Muslim chaplain corps, and appointed by the State Department to serve as a civilian ambassador, taking six taxpayer-funded trips to the Middle East. … Just days after the 9/11 attacks, he appeared with President Bush and other Muslim leaders at a press conference at the Islamic Center of Washington, D.C. despite his public comments a year earlier at a rally just steps from the White House identifying himself as a supporter of the Hamas and Hezbollah terrorist organizations.
In July 2005 the Treasury Department revealed that Alamoudi had been one of al-Qaeda’s top fundraisers ….
Go back and reread the last two paragraphs. Shouldn’t this experience have created great skepticism about proclaiming Muslim leaders to be moderate without critically examining their record? Instead, the opposite has happened.
Then there was Ali Mohamed, a man who trained American soldiers on Arab culture and infiltrated the U.S. Army’s training program for intelligence officers in the Middle East. Simultaneously, he was teaching Islamist militants in the United States — including the cell that carried out the 1993 World Trade Center bombing — how to shoot and blow things up. Later, he became al-Qaeda’s chief military expert.
How might the Army have known to distrust this man? Well, he had been expelled from the Egyptian army because of his terrorist sympathies, and Egypt warned the United States about him.
We’ve heard a lot lately about al-Qaeda’s new star, Anwar al-Awlaki, who has been behind many of the recent terrorist attacks on America. But did you know, as Poole writes:
Despite being subject to a FBI investigation initiated in 1999, and having been interviewed by the FBI at least four times after 9/11 for his contacts with two of the hijackers, Al-Awlaki was leading prayers for congressional Muslim staffers inside the U.S. Capitol. … Al-Awlaki was also feted at a luncheon inside the still-smoldering Pentagon following the 9/11 attacks …
Poole also writes of:
… Anwar Hajjaj, a local Islamic cleric who still leads prayers for the Congressional Muslim Staff Association. Hajjaj headed the Taibah International Aid Association, which was designated a global terrorist organization by the Treasury Department in May 2004.
And about lobbyist Faisal Gill, appointed to a senior post in the Department of Homeland Security:
… a former aide to al-Qaeda fundraiser Abdurahman Alamoudi … [Gill] had omitted his previous employment as director of government relations for Alamoudi’s American Muslim Council on the Standard Form 86 required for Gill’s security clearance. Gill had been at the forefront of AMC’s political efforts to end the use of secret evidence in terrorism deportation proceedings. In his position in the Homeland Security Intelligence division, he had access to a wide range of top-secret information, including vulnerabilities of national critical infrastructure.
Gill was investigated and cleared at the time, despite the fact that he had lied.
Hesham Islam has been an especially powerful figure: the senior advisor for international affairs for Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England and the Pentagon’s point-man for Muslim outreach. When one officer wrote a good study of revolutionary Islamist ideology, Islam campaigned to get him fired. Other officials told me that Islam tried to push them out also.
Islam’s autobiography on a Defense Department site contained clear contradictions and omissions, while his own academic work was rather shockingly radical. His father had worked for Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, while Islam claimed that he had survived a ship sinking that apparently never happened.
This study doesn’t include many other cases, most notably that of Nidal Hasan, the Fort Hood terrorist, where the Army’s negligence was responsible for the tragedy. At the time, I called Hasan the first terrorist to give an academic lecture with Power Point — to an Army audience — explaining his intention to commit a terrorist attack. Since then, things haven’t improved, including the Army’s report that didn’t even dare to talk about jihad.
Let’s be clear. There should be no witch-hunt of Muslims. This is about applying the same kind of scrutiny to Muslims that anyone else gets. The truth: bureaucrats are afraid to follow clear leads and point out obvious problems, lest their careers be injured by accusations of Islamophobia.
During the 1930s, it was regarded as impolite to look into whether there were Soviet agents in the U.S. government. Despite the lies and exaggerations of certain people later, there was a very serious Communist infiltration that damaged U.S. interests.
There is clearly a parallel effort — no matter how uncoordinated and individual in nature — today. Read Poole’s study, and then demand better media coverage and government response to this problem.

Old news is good news; since we’ve not been informed about this openly and honestly. So what do we do now? Obama himself is being advised by these samee people; Islamists.
Can we, via proper channels, expose this absurd inclination to self-destruct and put every Islamist (Muslim) working for any branch of our government, on leave pending a thorough investigation. We also need someone of great character to give a thumping reality check to our current administration.
Muslim beliefs are contrary to Judeo-Christian beliefs; Islam devotes a miniscule amount of print to actual “faith”; rather, the majority of the Quran is devoted to a totalitarian monstrosity of control over its subjects via Sharia. I don’t think it’s a stretch to prove that Islam is NOT a religion…given the Quranic texts, teachings, and ample historical facts that support this.
The first step; is to boot those Islamists OUT of the WH…no more Mr.Niceguy.
Thanks Mr Rubin…I fear this little exposé will only fall on deaf ears.
I predict two outcomes for this excellent post from Mr. Rubin: 1) if it actually is read in the WH it will be somewhat less popular than “Wikileaks”: and, 2) anyone in the 0 Administration who raises either the post or the issue in an Administration or public forum will be in grave danger of dismissal.
I believe it is imperative to maintain our proper perspective as conservatives and not succumb to the hysteria that we see (and sometimes feel we deserve to employ).
For example, you suggest putting every Muslim working for any branch of our government, on leave pending a thorough investigation. Does this include the estimated 5,000 brave young Muslims in our military currently fighting for and defending your right to say that?
As conservatives, we can not behave out of rage or make sweeping generalizations based on race, creed, color, religion, sexual orientation, etc. There are many out there who are waiting for and willing to use such reactionary behavior against us.
Finally, I’m not so sure Islam is contrary to Judeo-Christian beliefs. I certainly do NOT claim to be a scriptural scholar. To be so is the work of a lifetime, and I have tremendous admiration for people who devote themselves to such study. That said, I have read, many times, the texts central to all three major Western religions (and a few others), and I have spent a significant amount of time reading commentaries as well. As Abrahamic religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam indeed share many philosophical tenets. And they can each be described by someone so predisposed as promoting “totalitarian monstrosities.” (Leviticus, anyone?)
A brief albeit disturbing example: a friend recently at dinner said, “The Jews killed Jesus because they didn’t believe he was the Messiah. They still don’t believe he is the Messiah.” This statement he viewed as moderately defensible (he like to stir the pot), but it is at best an incomplete analysis. We can’t be guilty of the same thing.
Rise above, friends. If you want to stir the pot, just remember, you have to eat from it.
If I understand you correctly, your view is that we have to assume Muslims are harmless until we have all devoted our entire lives to studying the Koran. Maybe you should devote a couple of minutes to studying what happened on 9/11. Then you could spend a couple more researching Fort Hood. I don’t believe for a second that there are 5000 Muslims in the US military, but the two I know of killed a couple dozen good soldiers, and wounded many more.
Islam is at war with us. Eventually, after they have killed enough of us, we will be at war with them.
Good response jin.
Gawd Dawg: “If you want to stir the pot, just remember, you have to eat from it.” I often stir the pot so the food inside doesn’t burn, and if it did I wouldn’t enjoy eating it. You don’t sound like a conservative to me. You write as if you were a feelings-driven librul. I believe you are an imposter and a troll.
Not at all. I’m driven by careful consideration, that is WHY I am a conservative. Everything we do – whether it’s an an action or inaction -has consequences, intended and unintended. I like to look at al of that when forming an opinion or a strategy. I thought that would be welcome here. Maybe not. Stay aware. Stay fair. Stay vigilant.
Respectfully, you don’t understand my point, or perhaps I didn’t communicate it clearly enough. Understanding theKoran or the Bible or any other religious tradition doesn’t require a lifetime of study. one can come to now god through Jesus without ever opening the good book. I truly believe that. and I am well aware of what happened on 9/11 and at Ford Hood. In fact, it was after the Ft Hood massacre when U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey said. “Are we doing the right things? We will learn from this. We have to go back and look at ourselves and ask ourselves the hard questions,”
One of the tough questions people asked was about the number of Muslims in the U.S. military. The Defense Department reported 3,409 Muslims on active military duty as of April 2008, but officials said the number could be at least three times higher.
So, long story maybe a bit too long already (ha ha) my point is to ask tough questions about everything. So, here’s a tough question, Is Islam at war with us? You say yes. I say no, terrorists are at war with us. They are using islam as a tool, not an inspiration, in their fight. Are SOME terrorists equally committed to Islam? Yes. But they are misguided by themselves or others.
Then again, maybe you’re just trying to stir the pot, in a good way.
While I appreciate your circumspect approach, I think you’re overlooking some important factors and facts.
The only difference between the militants and the rest of the ummah is tactics. Some want to do it now and engage in jihad, the others want to do it with time and demographics. But both will continue until, and I’m guessing you read this too, “Allah’s will reigns supreme.”
Those moslems serving in the military are engaging in nothing but taqyiaa. A moslem can not have an allegiance to anything other than the quran. You say you’ve read it, so I’m guessing you know of it, but I can’t figure out why you don’t see how it comes into play.
Some years ago, moslems emmigrating to Europe were more than happy to behave and keep a low profile.
How’s that working out?
I think you don’t understand.
Eisenhower was of German ascent. Same thing for the man who designed the P51 Mustang aka the fighter who brought the Luftwaffe to its knees. They were from Geman ascent but their minds weren’t German, they didn’t go to meetings of “moderate nazis” and certainly didn’t find their guidance in Mein Kampf. Islam is an idea not a race and unlike a race it makes people act.
BTW. One, only one Japanese leaking that the American carriers were ambushed near Midway and thousands of American lives would have been lost. Lost at Midway, lost reconquering what would have been lost after Midway and lost in Europe since a defeat at Midway would have made Torch impossible.
Gawd Dawg;
Even a cursory reading of the Torah or New Testament will show you that the prince of lies always salts his lies with a partial truth. Have you studied Christian or Hebrew Scripture closely? To place Islams’s scripture on a par with the grace, mercy, faith, and salvation found in Hebrew and Christian texts is a serious mistake and misunderstanding of Islam.
You might consider reading some of Robert Spencers books, the jihadwatch site, and watch Geert Wilders Fitna for insite as to how they are not similar to the US beliefs at all.
Islam is the enemy. We are in the house of War to the followers of Mohammad. Within Islam one can not know their god, they can only recite/memorize their Koran, and hope their works get them into Paradise. Lying to Infidels, and making them convert to Islam is a mandate once Muslims are strong enough. Just look at Hamas, and Hezbollah. It is tough to be Christian, or a Jew around those examples of the religion of peace.
We are at war, and to many of our government officials have sold out to the money from the middle east, as well as our State Department allowing millions of Muslims to enter these United States.
There is no radical Islam. Just Islam. Those who are radical within the religion of peace are called Apostates.
Dawg of Gawd: “For example, you suggest putting every Muslim working for any branch of our government, on leave pending a thorough investigation. Does this include the estimated 5,000 brave young Muslims in our military currently fighting for and defending your right to say that?”
Yes.
I disagree. You might want to revisit the phrase “unit cohesion” where your view is concerned.
“That said, I have read, many times, the texts central to all three major Western religions”
I’m sorry but I’m going to call BS on that. You can always tell when people claiming to have read the Koran really haven’t. Particularly when they say things like “As Abrahamic religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam indeed share many philosophical tenets.” If you believe that, then you HAVEN’T read the Koran.
Take your “Jews killed Jesus” example. If you read the koran you’d know that Jesus couldn’t have been killed by the Jews because he was replaced by a double on the cross. This Islamic philosophy basically makes Christianity null and void because Jesus DIDN’T die for our sins.
About 60 to 70% of the koran is devoted to trashing Christians and Jews as well as explicit descriptions of how infidels will be tortured in hell. Do a word search of “Love” on an online koran and you will only find “the infidels love this or they love that”; The concept of Love doesn’t even exist. You couldn’t tell the difference?
Well, I am a bit disappointed. It seems some people are more interested in condemning something than understanding it.
My points were simple and clear:
“Judaism, Christianity and Islam indeed share many philosophical tenets.” I stand by this. One god. Virgin birth. Six-day creation. Adam & Eve. Paradise awaits. Damnation for non-believers. Prophets exist. The Torah is the word of God. Mary is the most blessed among women (unlike the Jews). Jesus will return in the Second Coming (unlike the Jews). Like Christians, they do not believe that Jesus moved to Palmyra, New York. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.)
Are there differences? Of course. Muslims don’t believe faith alone brings salvation. Instead they believe, as do the Jews and Catholics, that our works play a role. Muslims do not believe in the trinity. Neither do the Jews. Muslims believe in the power and authority of one book, unlike Catholics who reject the concept of sola scriptura.
These similarities and differences are too numerous to catalogue here. Suffice it to say that they exist.
Love? Of course it is in Koran. If you read The Family of Imran (3.31) you will find, “If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your faults, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.” In fact, every surah begins with a testament to god’s mercy and compassion. Is love mentioned as often in the Koran as it is in say, The Gospel of John? No. But it is not absent as you suggest.
Many Christians parrot the “kill the infidels” meme that is so popular in today’s religious discourse, suggesting there is no such retribution suggested in Christianity. Until you read Matthew 10:34-36 (NIV):
“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law — a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.”
Do I offer this as proof of Jesus’ malevolence? No. I offer it as proof that we should not relegate the holy books, any holy books, to the same sound-bite status we are cursed with in our media. By patient and thorough and objective in your analysis. And stand on what you truly believe to be the truth, not that which serves your frustration or soothes your intolerance.
As to my “Jews killed Jesus” example, I described that as an “incomplete analysis at best” and an example of someone merely trying to stir up trouble. I am a Christian first. I believe in the forgiveness and salvation of Christ at Calvary. Your position that Muslims believe that Christ was replaced with an imposter (possibly Judas) is a common and incomplete perception. I think you will find through objective inquiry that Muslims believe Jesus was spared the suffering of the cross, his spirit and body lifted to heaven by god, leaving behind the imposter, which many view as analogous to the husk of humanity we all carry around with us, what Shakespeare referred to as “this mortal coil.”
Such symbolism does not contradict the Christian message of Christ’s immortality. As the Koran puts it, “We have killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of Allah’. They certainly have neither killed him nor crucified him, although it was made to appear so to them.” That verse concludes with a categorical statement: “For certain they have not killed him, but Allah has raised him to Himself. Allah is Almighty, Wise.””
As I stated clearly and right up front, I do not consider myself a scriptural scholar. I am only trying to learn and understand as much about God as my limited gifts allow. It would be nice if we all did that just a little bit more.
Merry Christmas. And may God bless you.
When was the last time you heard of a Christian or Jew taking a dull knife and sawing off someones head in the name of their religion? How about the Jewish or Christian suicide bomber? Jewish or Christian hijacker flying jetliners in to buildings?
The only things Judaism and Christianity have in common with islam are the passages which the pedophile warlord muhamed plagiarized from the Jewish and Christian bibles.
Go preach your equivocating nonsense in saudi arabia or some other muslim run hell hole, where I’m sure it will be met with the love and compassion so commonly associated with the followers of the religion of peace…
You’re kidding, right?
The world famous female philosopher Hypatia of Alexandria was torn to pieces with glass fragments by a hysterical Christian mob led by a Christian minister named Peter, in a church, in 415.
Emperor Karl (Charlemagne) in 782 had 4500 Saxons, unwilling to convert to Christianity, beheaded.
Battle of Askalon, 8/12/1099. 200,000 heathens slaughtered “in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ”.
John Huss, a critic of papal infallibility and indulgences, was burned at the stake in 1415.
But then again, no such atrocities would ever be committed here in this great nation . . . unless you lived in Salem. or unless you’re an abortion doctor who gets shot to death, in church, in front of his family.
What can you say, boys will be boys. And you’re a boy, aren’t you Steven. Yes, you are.
Lucky Lady,
Your attack on Steven is off base. Point to any kind of mass, or heinous, murders perpetrated on in the name of Christ that has taken place in the past 150 years. I bet you can’t. We are having a worthwhile discussion here and, although Steven goes too far when he dismisses Dawg, an invites him to deport himself, he makes some good points as well.
Dawg,
You make an intelligent case for patience and careful analysis, but you overlook that 11,000 terrorist acts have been perpetrated around the world … so far this year…. Devout Muslims killing the less devout, the Apostates, and the Infidels. How many similar acts can be laid at the feet of Christian’s or Jews that emanate form their devout belief? Why are nearly every one of the 57 Muslim majority nations at war with their neighboring countries? We, indeed the entire civilized world, is at war with Islam. Those 5,000 or more Muslim soldiers may or may not be fighting for America… for Western freedoms. Until we can be sure, they should be placed on leave. This is where patient and careful analysis should be employed.
The Romans scourged, mocked, and crucified Jesus at the request of the Jewish leadership. We all are guilty.
I agree entirely.
I will pray for you to overcome your anger and ignorance.
Merry Christmas. And may God bless you.
Dawg,
Don’t be discouraged. We need you’re intelligent, and articulate, viewpoint here.
I don’t really get discouraged. I’m not wired that way. Instead, I try to get informed.
terrorists can be infiltrated but it requires thinking out of the box. The one legged author of AMERICAN JEHAD fought in Chec, Kasmir and tryed to get to Bosnia. He was rejected as an informer. The young man captured at the end of the afgan war had heard rumors of planes being used to attack tall buildings. The right approach could have gained inside knowledge to stop 9-ll. Our eyes have put on blinders with regard to foot soldiers who volunteer inside information for some reason. It is usually a failure to hire brilliant people who are unconventual. Philby, Sorge were a bit bent but their oddness was part of their cover.
This Nation, The United States of America, was founded by Christans.
The United States of America Declamation of Independence states
“ONE NATION UNDER GOD” the father of our Lord, Jesus Christ !!!.
In MY oppion, only Christians should be allowed to be citizens, as those were who founded this Country were !!! I also belive, only those who accepted Jesus as thier personal Savior will enter the Kingdom of Heaven !!!
President Obama is too weak in dealing with radical islamic terrorism, he bends over backwards not to offend muslim countries yet treats Israel like garbage despite the fact that Israel is the only real true friend of the United States. The U.S. also needs to stop putting pressure on Israel to give up land that belongs to them and the Jews alone, these radicals don’t want peace. Just look what Israel got in return when they gave up the Gaza Strip.
These hair-raising practices went on in the Bush years, too. Although no Democrat would take meaningful action against this situation, it’s still not a matter of party or even ideology; it’s a matter of character, of guts. Which Republican presidential frontrunner has it?
including the cell that carried out the 1993 World Trade Center bombing
these are th same cell who assassinated Meir Kahane- if CLINTON has paid any attention at all the World TRade towers would still be standing
It was purposely and WILLFULLY ignored
none of this is news to most of us
one can only assume one of two things:
our govt is totally incompetant and unorganized
OR they are enabling it
as for Muslims serving as soldiers- yeah HASSAN- he shot up his fellow Americans- will you trust a MUSLIM behind your back when shooting at other MUSLIMS??
I wouldn’t
we owe our guys at least better checks on those inside our most sensitive instituions
it is not prejudice or bigotry to be VIGILANT and sensible- PROFILING works
We cannot go on with this farcial pretend PC game- MUSLIMS are suspect sorry- as long as ISLAM preaches sedition and killing anyoje who kills a MSULIM they should not even be allowed into military or any secure intel postions- How many we trusted PROVED LIARS? the ass bomb JOrdan doctor? killed the FBI who trusted him
one of the only reason to have gov’t is to protect our security and they are failing to do so at every level of govt
None! But we really need newly elected Congressman Allen West to run, he’s talked about Islam and their history and he talks straight.
There seems to be special immunity from investigation and prosecution for Moslems, not just in America, but also and to an even greater extent in Europe. This phenomenon continues no matter how many Moslems are arrested for planning and even trying to carry out mass casualty terror attacks. Most Moslem organizations freely donate their time, money, and even manpower to defend Moslems arrested for terror activities or money raising for terrorist groups. Many prominent Moslem organizations routinely falsify statistics and other information in order to claim that they are an oppressed group, even when real statistics show that Christian, Jews, and many others suffer far more discrimination than Moslems. Even in Israel where I live, the worst Moslem anti Israel agitators routinely call for the destruction of Israel and the mass destruction of the Jews and little is done to restrict their activities. These agitators, many of them prominent Moslem religious leaders, Arabic newspaper publishers, and even Knesset members freely demonize and delegitimize Israel and the Israeli Jewish public in terms that would make a 1930′s Nazi blush, and nothing legal or even public relationswise is done.
Maybe you can tell me why this is Dr. Rubin, especially since doing to these agitator and terrorist enablers has only emboldened them to even greater heights of hate mongering.
You’re missing the whole point.
If we let them in, show them we like them, and demonize all who criticize them, they will stop hating us.
Islamists are reasonable people…just like you and I.
Forget about why they hate us….just be nice to them and they’ll hate us less.
And when they finally DO take over, they’ll spare my life since they are honorable people and will remember who helped them crush the infidels.
This is about as intelligent as getting in front of a Black community to ask them to be nice to the local KKK group and maybe they won’t lynch anyone. That’s not how life works.
I believe he was being facetious.
“Let’s be clear. There should be no witch-hunt of Muslims.”
Why does this remind me of Bush’s “Islam is the Religion of Peace?”
That “religion of peace” nonsense by Bush, as well as this obsession that so many people have in using “islamism” and “islamists”, rather than “islam” and “muslims”, to refer to the threats we’re facing are just signs of how far they want to go in order to pretend that reality isn’t quite as the hard facts have shown it to be. Bosch Fawstin has produced an excellent illustration depicting this pattern of denial. Another great example of the use of those little quaint words was written by Artemis Gordon Glidden in a short thought-experiment interlude:
I wonder what would have happened if Nazis in 1939 were as incompetent as today’s jihadis? What if Germany had invaded Poland, been defeated and lost territory in the defeat? Then, from within their corrupt, crumbling, and failing cities, they began to pour into the UK and the rest of Europe, all the while holding fast to their Nazi ideology, and forcing those host nations to bend to their wishes. Jews would be forced to wear yellow stars in order not to offend the newest Nazi immigrants. Schools would begin serving blood sausage, lager beer, and spaetzle to ALL students. Separate German-speaking-only schools would be set up, funded by Berlin, that indoctrinated students with Aryan racial supremacy theory. Beatings of Jews, gays, and intellectuals would dramatically increase, but it would be verboten to notice the overwhelming Germanicity of the brown-shirted attackers. There would be freedom-of-speech suits filed to protect their right to wear SS uniforms and swastika pins in their workplace. Factories would be forced to allot 5-times-daily goosestepping and Zeig Heiling marches for German workers. European politicians would make speeches (after parenthetically condemning extreme-Nazi-ism) praising Nazi ideology as The Ideology of Peace. Laws would be passed making it a hate-crime to insult Adolph. Anyone criticising the growing Nazification of Europe would be labeled “racist” and “Naziphobic.”
Without firing a shot, they could have accomplished their goal, and conquered a bewildered and compliant Europe.
But I know the answer to the hypothetical. I know my grandparents, and I know what their reaction would have been to all of this. They would have put up with nothing close to what we’re putting up with.
Shame on us.
And, just as the use of “Nazi-ism”, instead of Nazism, in that hypothetical situation would only benefit the Nazis and keep their opponents in the fog about their goals, the use of an expression like “revolutionary islamism” can only benefit muslims and the goals set in stone for them by the inbred bedouin savages that concocted Mein Qurampf; while our efforts to defend ourselves against our enemies are likely to be less effective than they would otherwise be because of those muddying the definitions of what and who we’re fighting against.
Thank you.
Maybe this explains why reading Geert Wilders’ straightforward speech (in Israel) sounded so ‘weird’ – he was telling the truth like it is. No wonder he is being called a ‘right-wing-racist-islamophobe.’
Do not expect a bureaucrat to stand up. They do not expose themselves politically. It is the nature of the beast. They are careerists. To be embroiled in whistle-blowing in defense of one’s country, will only lead to the death of one’s career. It is a careerist’s version of being a dead hero. They DO love their pay and benefits. And pensions! Pensions above all else!
“Let’s be clear. There should be no witch-hunt of Muslims. This is about applying the same kind of scrutiny to Muslims that anyone else gets. The truth: bureaucrats are afraid to follow clear leads and point out obvious problems, lest their careers be injured by accusations of Islamophobia.”
Seems like we are now on the polar opposite of a “witch-hunt.” The American government is petrified of being seen as non-politically correct and biased against Muslims, so they do nothing. The Ft. Hood shooter is a huge example of this. Even though the man was an admitted Muslim Islamist radical who never tried to hide his feelings, the US Army did nothing and many Americans were either killed or wounded because of this political correctness.
One could also make a similar case against the Ground Zero Mosque imam, Rauf. The US Government is still singing this guy’s praises as a “moderate,” when, in fact, he is just another radical Islamists who embraces sharia law and bad-mouths the United States every chance he gets while travelling in the Middle East. This man is a traitor to his country and should be treated as such. But the jerks in Washington, who are more afraid of losing their jobs rather than identifying real Muslim terrorists and traitors, would rather die than be seen as being politically incorrect. And this attitude will only lead to more American deaths, not fewer.
At the root of each one is a failure or refusal to comprehend revolutionary Islamism or the bureaucratic fear of taking on the enemy.
I’d vote for refusal to comprehend revolutionary Islamism.
When he’s not paying obeisance to “Izz-LAM”, this President has (reportedly) hosted some of the worst of the worst infiltrators and supporters of Hamas at the White House.
It’s like an international shell game, and the PC’ers have absolutely no clue where the pea is. Death of the republic by a thousand papercuts, giving the saboteur a helping hand.
“Terrorists”, both soft and hard varieties, love it.
…an observer could sum up the handling of terrorism in the United States in the almost-decade since September 11 by saying there have been no major attacks, and the policy has been successful.
Abu Nidal Hasan was major enough for me. It is shameful and appalling that political correctness in the military let this guy through.
Abdulrahman Alamoudi…taking six taxpayer-funded trips to the Middle East.
We paid for slumlord Imam Abdul Rauf, of Victory Mosque fame, to go on a similar junket. (In his candid moments, before Arab speaking audiences, Rauf acknowledges that he doesn’t believe in “interfaith dialogue”.)
Taxpayer funding of the enemy’s overseas trips is over the top, demonstrating how completely locked into make believe is the PC mind.
…then demand better media coverage and government response to this problem.
They’re not coming around. In this lifetime or any other.
How PC minds work. Or don’t.
Social Justice and the Modern Liberal
“The first step; is to boot those Islamists OUT of the WH…no more Mr. Niceguy.”
One can only hope that the committees of the incoming Congress will be grilling the heads of Defense, FBI, DHS and others about this PC-induced negligence. A serious housecleaning is definitely in order. This is one “purge” I could get behind.
interesting…i sent an email to my senator yesterday with this title
Only the mind boggling incompetence of the muzzies is saving us from our own incompetence…so far.
Isn’t the main purpose of government to protect the safety of the citizenry?
Certainly this can be a difficult task, but when you see government officials make the same mistake over and over, it gets to the point where it is clear that the chief threat isn’t the terrorists, it’s the government officials responsible for the policies.
Yet it is hardly discussed at all.
Which brings up the deeper topic. Why do we accept politicians who obviously are singularly focused on feathering their own nests rather than serving the public. If the average pol spends 5% of his or her time working for the public rather than his or herself, I would be shocked to learn it.
is it just political correctness or is there something bigger here.
I think the left has a fascination with the fascist style of islam.
“The only thing we need to fear is fear itself” ? No, the thing we need to fear is a politically correct Obama/DC mentality who refuse an honest look at Muslims and Muslin terrorists. Profiling is necessary but likely won’t occur ,if then, until after another major strike on the homeland. (This, however, would work toward the election of Obama in 2012 as – how could we possibly throw the guy out in the middle of a crisis—).
If rappists and bank robbers would declare themselves as loving Muslims they would have a much better chance of being ignored if not actively recruited to work for the US government.
What Mr. Patrick Pool is essentially saying is that the country’s security is largely run by fools. The Muslim extremists know this and depend on this. Our major advantage has been outright luck and the patriotic citizens who have acted to divert terrorist attacks. The trouble with luck is that it eventually runs out.
Thanks for this enlightenment Mr. Rubin but I fear it will fall on deaf ears. Perhaps Pool’s book should be required reading for all incoming House freshmen. The status quo “Old Guard” will continue to ignore the warnings as they focus on their own election funding.
“This is about applying the same kind of scrutiny to Muslims that anyone else gets. ”
Isn’t this precisely what’s wrong with our present state of affairs? This sort of inept analysis is what keeps returning us to the same cloud of confusion. Husky, in the preceding comment, puts his finger on the real issue: Sharia law should be our target. It’s clearly seditious. Muslims can embrace their loony ideas, but the line needs to be drawn at support for Sharia Law.
This article overlooks the most obvious infiltrator. That would be Obama.
How does Obama treat the oppression and murders of Christians in Muslim countries? He tells Muslims that “Islam is one of the world’s great religions”.
It has been reported that one in five Americans believe Obama is Muslim, and the chattering class was shocked that the number was so high. I was shocked that it was so low.
If the government even used a google search they would know more about some of these Islamist then our state department and wretched US army is able to gather. Use of lower case is purposeful incidently stressing my respect (or not) for these idiots that give VISA’s to every Muslim terrorist and a free education to the Ft Hood killer.
“….Ft Hood killer.”
I’m sure the Obama administration is thankful to you for not calling him a terrorist.
This sounds a little like FDR and people who attended the United Nations original meetings…ie. Alger Hiss etc.
Bureaucrats who are fool ?
Mistakes ?
Are we sure about this ?
How much money from Saudi Arabia is coming here to buy how many bureaucrats and politicians ?
One case would be a “mistake”, even two.
Instead the list of names and facts is very long, and … very ignored by the media.
Political correctness is only an excuse, that masks treason.
Or greed.
Or fear.
Or all of that.
what the hell do you expect when the morons in this country installed an illegal alien muslim communist dictator man-child into the oval office?
Almost perfect description – you left out pathalogical liar, narcisist. I guess we could go on and on…
Security clearances, at THIS TIME, for Muslims should be the RARE exception. During WWII, pray tell, how many Nisei were employed in sensitive positions, probably somewhere south of the integer 1. If we need Arabic speakers, there are plenty of Sephardic Jews and Arab Christians who are fluent in th language and know the culture close up, warts and all. Whether “we ” are at war with “them” is irrelevant. They certanly areat war with us. Dr.Shalit
Whenever anyone is called a hater for pointing out evil, there needs to be an investigation of the one who calls the other a hater.
Everyone needs something bigger than themselves to believe in. Conservatives have God. Godless liberals invented and worship Political Correctness. Anyhow, here’s my editorial concerning Islamis terrorism that the papers won’t publish because it’s politically incorrect:
The politicos tell us if we don’t keep fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, that al-Qaeda will take over these countries and turn them into training grounds for terrorists. They would then presumably come here and kill more of us like they did on 9/11.
A more sensible solution might be to simply stop granting visas to al-Qaeda operatives to come to America in the first place. All nineteen of the 9/11 terrorists and the underwear bomber had government-issued visas. How would they have gotten here without them? Our east and west coasts are protected by vast oceans, and we can protect our north and south by bringing the troops home and stationing them on those borders.
Some concerns with this plan are:
1) How do we know who to refuse visas to?
The answer is anyone that is an Arab Muslim. This will involve some racial and ethnic profiling, which members of some political groups (that aren’t on their way to a war in the Middle East) may find more horrific than war. The moratorium on Arab Muslim visas can be lifted just as soon as the jihad is over.
2) If our troops secure the borders, how will nannies and gardeners from Mexico be able to come to America for a better life?
They will have to enter the U.S. legally by filling out an immigration application. This policy change will upset the political groups that fail to understand that there is nothing wrong with Mexico that the Mexicans can’t fix themselves.
3) What about terror cells already in the United States?
Sending more troops to the Middle East won’t get rid of them. If Homeland Security does its job, we can eventually disband the TSA.
4) If we pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan, won’t it be taken over by al-Qaeda?
Maybe, but since the President announced our withdrawal timeline, al-Qaeda operatives will just hide in the mountains or get some R&R in Iran until we leave and then take over anyway. We can’t save Iraq and Afghanistan unless we’re prepared to stay there indefinitely, or to neutralize Iran.
5) Americans want Osama bin Laden’s head. What about our revenge?
Give it up. Osama’s head isn’t worth the life of one more American soldier. Besides, the spread of Islam along with its militant faction is a numbers game we can’t win. We should cut our losses now and concentrate on protecting our homeland.
Please consider this politically incorrect but more cost-effective and practical alternative to war, and bring it up with your congressman.
Well said, miker5, I agree completely.
May I add that we’re altogether misplaced in that Asian land mass which I repeatedly call one vast sponge? We’re misplaced with our huge massed ground forces requiring mountains of materiel delivered via a near impossibly long pipeline. It is to the everlasting credit of the mostly unsung transport divisions of the Pentagon that we’ve maintained ourselves in Central/West Asia as long as we have.
It would seem the best approach is to have an emphasis placed on small “special ops” locally placed, calling in drones controlled from way offshore, then fine-handled locally, backed up by our Naval Task Forces in the nearby seas.
With “special ops” we’ll need many more linguists. That seems to be our main vulnerability. Moreover, we cannot deal with these artificially contrived countries as “countries” as we’re accustomed to knowing and using that term. They remain rigidly loyal tribal associations, and have remained so for centuries. The British and French colonial/mercantile overlaid boundaries are straddling these tribal divisions in some cases, creating our current diplomatic “turf” squabbles. Think Waziristan. Think of the Pakistani controlled sanctuaries of our enemies. Double-speak and double-gamesmanship must be contended with.
It’s folly to think we can work around all that using our own accustomed traditions. They simply won’t mix.
Islam has always had a portion of its membership dedicated to violence. This attitude goes all the way back to the seventh century when Christian communities were destroyed by Islam throughout the Midle East, North Africa and parts of Spain. Islam would only to be stopped by the leadership of Charlemagne. But that was not the end. Constantinople fell to the Turks in the 13th century and Islam forcibly expanded through southeastern Europe only to be stopped at the gates of Vienna in the 15th century. Wherever Islam settled there was no tolerance for any Christian belief. Christian churches and communities were obliterated. Europe, you’ve seen it before. How can you ignore it now? America should learn from history. The violent arm of Islam is at work here!
Since the destruction in the 1970s and 1980s of our old traditional school of Middle East experts, the “Orientalists,” a program of destroying, delegitimizing, and discrediting the Orientalists, their view of the world and its history, and their very pessimistic, negative views of Islam and Muslims that were based in centuries worth of first-hand study, experience, and observation–destruction spearheaded by Obama and Bill Ayers great, close friend, Columbia Professor and “Palestinian” Edward Said—there has been a very concerted, broad-based “disinformation”/“influence operation” to replace their knowledge and views that has been working its way through the Left occupied territories of Academia, the MSM, and out into our general society, a campaign of massive and selective “forgetting” to get us to see and understand our past and our history in a particular way; a way that deliberately turns our eyes away from the major, violent, destructive, and pernicious role that Islam and Muslims have played in World history generally and in our Western history in particular, both in the past and today.
Our eyes, attention and awareness have been directed away from the fact that, on the death of Muhammad in 632 A.D., Muslim armies composed of mostly illiterate Bedouins swarmed out of the Arabian peninsula and, in a hundred year orgy of slaughter, pillage, rape, and conquest, destroyed and then occupied what had been the peaceful Christian civilizations in the Middle East ( in countries and places like Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and Jerusalem) and in North Africa (what are now Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, and Mauritania), and the majority Zoroastrian civilization of Persia (Iran) as well. Directing or eyes and attention away from the fact that these Muslim armies then occupied Spain (for 800 years), then went on the conquer and Islamize what was a majority Christian Turkey, and destroyed and occupied the Eastern (Byzantine) Empire—arguably so disrupting and diminishing trade, travel, and commerce in and around the Mediterranean that their conquest brought on the Dark Ages.
From the bases created by these Muslim conquests, Muslim armies and raiding parties frequently and systematically fanned out into the Mediterranean and into Eastern Europe and–pushing ever Westward–spent the next 1,000 years occupying various nations/regions of Europe and the Mediterranean, often for many hundreds of years, pillaging and holding at ransom (Jizya) various locations, roaming the waters of the Mediterranean, and the coasts and the landmass of Europe, fighting battles with indigenous Christian forces in dozens of countries in the Mediterranean and Europe, spreading terror and destruction, stealing loot and capturing slaves, all to spread “terror” among us “unbelievers” as Muhammad had commanded them to do, and to gather the wealth in loot and slaves that was essential to perpetuating those essentially extractive Muslim empires, to feed the world-spanning Muslim slave trade that processed the human “Gold” of an estimated 17 million slaves, mostly from Africa but an estimated 1.5 million of them Europeans from Greece, Italy, Spain and Eastern Europe, from the coasts of England, Scotland, and as far north as Iceland. During the time of that thousand year Muslim reign of terror, our ancestors were so threatened and beleaguered by Muslim’s continuous raids, so fearful and in terror of Muslim’s widespread looting, rape, destruction and slave taking–that could descend on them at any moment–that daily Christian church services used to contain a routine prayer for protection against raids by “Saracens.”
Nor are we to keep in mind or dwell on the four major attempts by Muslim armies to penetrate into and conquer Western Europe; Muslim armies defeated by Christian armies in the 8th century at Tours (Poitiers) outside Paris, in central Europe at Vienna in both the 16th and again in the 17th centuries, and on the seas, a Muslim fleet that was defeated off the coast of Greece in the 16th century Battle of Lepanto.
Closer to today, we are not to remember that from the 1780s to 1800 or so the Congress of our struggling, newly formed United States had to pay out 10% and sometimes close to 20% of our entire national budget yearly in gold coins to the Muslim “Barbary Pirates” as “Jizya,” i.e. “protection money” to prevent these Jihadis from capturing and/or destroying our merchantmen, stealing their cargoes, and selling their crews and passengers into slavery–and destroying our sea trade that was absolutely essential if our new nation was to survive and prosper.
Yet, despite all this long and ancient history of Muslim Jihad against all us unbelievers down through the last 1,400 years, our new “experts”—much more friendly to Islam and Muslims these days since the destruction of the Orientalist school and their views–tell us that Islam—“the Religion of Peace”–has not been nor is not now a real threat to us, and we are not to bother our pretty little heads to read for ourselves what the three fundamental texts of Islam, what the Qur’an, and the Hadiths, and the Sira say. But, if we read these texts, we will find their essence summed up—as far as we “unbelievers” are concerned–by what the Barbary Pirate’s representative told Samuel Adams and Thomas Jefferson back in 1785, when they asked him why the Pirates were attacking the ships of a newly founded country that had never done anything to them, and he told Adams and Jefferson that:
“it was written in the Koran, that all Nations who should not have acknowledged their [Islam’s] authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon whoever they could find and to make Slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Mussulman [Muslim] who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.”
The last Muslim Empire—the Ottoman Empire—dissolved in the late 1920s and with its end the last Muslim Caliph vanished as well, and, for a time, the unbelievers of the West might have been justified in believing that the threat from Islam and its Jihad had vanished, too. But, in the 1920s the Muslim Brotherhood (the Ikhwan)—witnessing Islam’s decline and powerlessness–started to preach “reformation,” telling Muslims to reject the westernization and modernization that they saw as the cause of Islam and Muslim’s decline, and to return to the strict ways and the Jihad of the days of Muhammad, and their and others efforts, given impetus by the trillions of dollars in unearned oil revenue that has poured into the Muslim world since the 1940s, has revived Islam as a force in today’s world, and again set Muslims on the path of Jihad against all unbelievers as a way to revive and strengthen Islam, and the Jihad is stronger and more all-encompassing than ever.
Just to list the major Jihad attempts and successful attacks against the United States and its interests in the last few years, there has been the bombing of the USS Cole, bombings of various U.S. embassies overseas, the first attack on the World Trade Center, 9/11, the Beltway Snipers (who despite their many connections to Islam, and their constant writing about Islam in their journals (that were not widely publicized) were not acknowledged by the authorities or the MSM as Muslims who were waging Jihad, were carrying out terror attacks against unbelievers), Major Hasan’s Jihad attack and massacre of U.S. troops at Ft. Hood, the times Square Bomber, the Underwear Bomber and, most recently, the attempt by a Muslim to explode a car bomb at a public Christmas celebration in Oregon. There have also been many dozens of other attempted or successful attacks that were of smaller scale and received far less publicity than the ones I have listed above.
Now, looking around today, we are discovering that Muslims have moved into official positions of power and influence and, actually, have often been invited into our government, our military, and our intelligence agencies—where they have influence on policies and personnel, and access to intelligence that would be extremely useful to the Jihad—actions apparently taken by some of us unbelievers in the belief that we needed to demonstrate our fairness, our hospitality, and our multicultural bona fides to Muslims, and again we are being told by our new post-Orientalist “experts” that these representatives of “the Religion of Peace” that has been waging Jihad against all us unbelievers since ancient times, for almost fourteen hundred years now, are not a threat.
I beg to differ.
The issue of having terrorist sympathizers in the US government reminds me of the US Dept. of State and its numerous soviet agents and communist sympathizers going back to the 1920s. The FBI had considerable evidence regarding soviet agents and the Americans who were run by them, but the FDR and Truman administrations did nothing to get rid of them.
The one guy who went public with the information, Sen. McCarthy, was villified by the American left and stonewalled by the Truman administration.
The FBI (responsible for counter-intelligence) most likely wanted to keep the known agents on the federal payroll. That’s standard procedure; you never kill the sniper, just supress him because they might replace him with someone who can shoot better. Most publicized spy arrests are done for public consumption, not for military or counter-intelligence reasons.
I believe that our counter-terrorism folks are operating with the same SOP. If you are in charge of an intelligence agency, you want to be known world-wide as on the level of Keystone Kops. You do not want the enemy to think you are a real threat (which you are). All the PC rhetoric about Islam and Muslims is likely to be in that vein.
most of these points are correct, but then fail to connect the dots.
Islam didnt attack NY on 911, Saudi funded terrorists did. And yet we invaded Iraq..? The House of Saud has been funding terrorism for the last 200 years as part of a negotiated treaty with fundamentalists, they do it openly, brazenly and without apology.
In return, our presidents have held hands and bowed down to the leadership of the ruling family, and pretended the House of Saud is contributing to world stability.
The truth is the House of Saud is responsible through direct training and funding of terrorist acts. Turning a blind eye to what the House of Saud created is ignorance, and should be pointed out every chance possible.
We invaded Iraq because Iran was smart enough to manipulate the Bush Administration through their person in the pentagon Ahmed Chalabi and well planted intelligence.
We are about to invade or attack Iran because the house of Saud is doing the same.
Political Correctness also puts regular citizens in danger from common criminals.
Its the same reasoning that has people condemning Israel’s security fence as an Apartheid Wall. Because Jewish peoples right to life is less important than Palestinian Muslims rights not to be inconvenienced.
Similarly Indigenous Norweigan girls right not to be raped is less important that Muslim Immigrants rights to immigrate and keep their own culture.
It’s the New Left Zeitgeist.
“I certainly do NOT claim to be a scriptural scholar. To be so is the work of a lifetime”
This is a false premise: nuclear physics, nano-technology and quantum mechanics take a life-time of study.
Reading the so-called holy books takes a few weeks, months at most.
These books were written by simple people in simple times. They attributed everything to their god(s) and made up rules to pacify him/them. Some (OT) contain a romanticised history.
If you do decide to read the koran, I suggest you buy one of the new translations, which puts the suras in chronological order (rather than order of size), since this will enable you to recognise the difference between the medina islam and the mekka islam. The violent abrogates the peaceful, the political ideology replaces the religious prayers and the prophet of an abrahamic god becomes the warlord of the koran.
I spent much time reading the comments too. Since the Abrahamic religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam is part of many of the philosophical principles.
Muslims have an incredible amount of blood on their hands, and that will continue no matter what. All of this from the ‘loving’, ‘peaceful’ religion of Islam. And here I sit *STILL* waiting for the so-called moderate Muslims to stand up and denounce such actions. I’m very sure I’ll continue to be disappointed. That leads me to believe that there is no such thing as a moderate Muslim. That leads me to believe that they are *ALL* extremists. After all, if they aren’t actively condemning such actions then that means that they are directly condoning those same abhorrent acts.
‘Loving’ and ‘peaceful’ religion of Islam? More like the hate-filled, genocidal cult of murder otherwise known as Islam. Looks like all this talk of, “We’re at war with terrorists not Islam” is false. Looks more to me like we *ARE* at war with Islam.
The muslim motto:
“Support our peaceful religion or we’ll kill you”
U.S. pro-terror leaders wickedly betray infidel America.
Terrorists have infiltrated the U.S. government because that is EXACTLY what the government wants:

US Ambassador Visits UK Mosque With Radical Ties
December 1, 2010
The US ambassador to the United Kingdom visited and praised a well-known extremist mosque in London Monday, and invited its youth to participate in an embassy-funded initiative to travel to the United States.
The East London Mosque(ELM) hosted recent speeches by al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula leader and now Specially Designated Global Terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki, a prominent leader of extremist group Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, and a wide variety of other radical leaders. That’s beside hate and terrorism promoted by the mosque’s leaders and the Islamic Forum for Europe (IFE), a group headquartered in the mosque complex.
During his visit, Susman said he had “great admiration” for the mosque and was “looking forward” to a dialogue with community members. He invited young people from the community to enroll in the U.S. embassy’s cultural and interfaith program, which coordinates trips for young leaders to the United States.

With a huge and constantly growing Muslim population, a nation cannot survive and remain free when that nation allows extremist mosques in its midst. It is almost as if the host nation is begging to be conquered. From its inception, totalitarian Islam has sought Muslim conquest of all nations.
The US Ambassador praising the extremist mosque was US government support and approval of the preaching of violent jihad against non-Muslims. The message of US support for jihad was reinforced by inviting the mosque “youth to participate in an embassy-funded initiative to travel to the United States.” The US showed Muslims that they desire Muslim conquest of America.
The US is bankrupt with huge numbers out of work. Tent cities have sprung up all over America filled with jobless, homeless, desperate, neglected Americans. But for ruling elites, Muslims are the top favorites to lavish with money and lovely trips.
US leaders have no interest whatsoever in working with moderate Muslims. The ONLY Muslim organizations that they will work with are Muslim organizations connected to the Muslim Brotherhood whose goal is Islamic conquest of America.
So many made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives so that we could live in freedom and this is what our great nation has come to. Unless things change drastically, America’s future as well as Britain’s will be horrifying.
Two things need to be added to what I wrote above at #25.
First, that the disinformation/influence operation to destroy the Orientalist school, and to replace it and its views with a new school of “experts” on the Middle East, who have a much more sanguine, much more favorable view of Islam and Muslims and a much more critical view of the United States and Israel that has been going on since the 1970s, has been bankrolled through the injection of $200 million dollars, and perhaps a lot more, in “donations” from Saudi Arabia and other Muslim nations to a who is who roster of America’s most prestigious and influential universities, money which has been used to set up Middle East Studies Centers, to support or endow new or existing departments, scholars, and chairs of Middle Eastern Studies, and to set of scholarships at a very large number of America’s leading universities, all to teach, support, and spread the view of Islam and Muslims, the Qur’an and Muhammad, Israel, Jihad, the Palestinians and the Middle East that is being peddled by the cadre of post-Orientalist experts on the Middle East that have been increasingly churned out by these Saudi influenced departments and programs that are beholden to Muslims.
Apparently, the main scholarly organizations in Middle Eastern Studies are now firmly in control of this new cadre, and if you want to get into a PhD. program in Middle Eastern Studies, if you wish to get published, get invited to speak at conferences, to get good recommendations and a university teaching position, and to have any chance of getting tenure these days, you have to tailor your research and your views to the pattern of the new Islam friendly orthodoxy taught by this Saudi influenced cadre or, you will not get anywhere.
Thus, no potentially embarrassing archeological digs on the Arabian Peninsula that might turn up something contradicting Muslim’s views of Islam, Muhammad, the Qur’an and Muslim history, no articles—especially critical articles—exploring the life and times of Muhammad, no research exploring the basis of Jihad in the Qur’an and Islamic jurisprudence unless it minimizes this issue, and lots of articles favoring the Palestinians and highly critical of Israel are the tickets to success, and as for Islam and Its Jihad, your position must be that worry about this issue is both misplaced and overblown.
Muhammad said [The essence of] “War is deception.”
Any examination/consideration of the issue of Muslims in positions of power and influence in our government, military, and intelligence organizations must take into account the enormous, what I believe to be the insurmountable problem of Islam’s religiously sanctioned practices of “Holy Deception” i.e. Takiyya (dissimulation i.e. lying) and Kitman (withholding information, partial truth) that Islamic practice says should–and sometimes must–be used by Muslims in their dealings with all unbelievers, if by employing these deeply deceptive techniques they can safeguard or advance the cause of a Muslim or of Islam. So, for example, a Muslim using Takiyya and Kitman can deny he is a Muslim, can curse Islam, can betray fellow Muslims, can apparently convert to Christianity, and can still be a Muslim, if he is true to Islam in his heart.
How then, given the existence and possible use of these deeply deceptive techniques of Takiyya and Kitman, can any of us unbelievers believe that anything a Muslim might say, any oath a Muslim might swear to or documents he might sign, the person they present themselves to be or the life they are apparently leading, is “the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.”
It would seem to me that the existence and possible employment of these “Holy Deceptions” by Muslims would present anyone wanting to hire on a Muslim for a position in our government, our military, or our intelligence agencies with an enormous and insoluble problem.
#33 above continued–
Unless, of course, hiring officials made strenuous efforts to be willfully ignorant of the existence of the religiously sanctified Muslim practice of “Holy Deception,” and pretended that this huge problem just does not exist, which I guess is what has been happening.
But, hey, if after all the evidence to the contrary that has passed before your eyes. you swallow the “Islam is a Religion of Peace” crap, then I guess ignoring the “elephant in the room” of “Holy Deception” is hardly even an effort.
I have never ever been politcally correct and I don’t intend to be because if I don’t like something or somebody for a reason I express it and if people don’t like it I look at this way to damn bad.
Muslims can build mosques in Hell.Islam is fascistic and antidemocratic.Islam is not a religion its a perversy.Prophet Mohammad was a phedofile massmurder and nothing else.Go to http://www.tellchildrenthetruth.com there are all crimes in the name of Allah well documented.
