Political Correctness and the Thought Police
Entire lexicons have been forced into retirement. The term “gay” has been hijacked from the English language. The word “fairy” can no longer be used to refer to a petite airborne humanoid with mystical powers. White trash is still referred to as white trash, however. Washington, D.C.’s black mayor, Anthony Williams, gladly accepted the resignation of his white staff member, David Howard, because Mr. Howard uttered the word “niggardly” in a private staff discussion about funding. Dallas city officials have apparently also removed the term “black hole” from permissible use after Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield found himself guilty of talking while white. Mayfield observed that the bureaucracy “has become a black hole” for lost paperwork, whereupon fellow Commissioner John Wiley Price took great offense, shouting, “Excuse me!” That office, the black commissioner explained, has become a “white hole.” Seizing on the outrage, Judge Thomas Jones demanded that Mayfield apologize for the “racially insensitive analogy.”
I refuse to believe that Native Americans could legitimately take offense at the name “warriors,” or that they have cornered the market on a word used by the Greeks, Romans, Africans, and Germans to describe courageous soldiers. The word refers to anybody who fights with courage and strength — from cancer patients to the Marines. But sure enough, when I returned home to Wisconsin after practicing law in Houston for 20 years, the Marquette Warriors had been forced to change their name.
As is usually the case, however, it wasn’t the Native American people who were complaining about the sports team names or mascots. It was a handful of liberal activists, mostly non-Native Americans. In 2002, the Peter Harris Research Group conducted a poll asking if high school and college teams should stop using Indian nicknames. Eighty-one percent of Native American respondents said “no” and 83% said teams should not stop using Indian nicknames, mascots, characters, and symbols. The poll also found that 75% of Native Americans don’t think the use of these team names and mascots “contributes to discrimination.” But now we have the Marquette Golden Eagles — a bird which tears apart young martens, foxes, marmots, rabbits, and mice, and even scavenges off of dead animal carcasses in the road during the winter months. Enter PETA.
Political correctness seems harmless enough at first glance. After all, it simply seeks to avoid offending certain segments of our society, right? It is seemingly just a few innocent code words: tolerance, social justice, economic justice, peace, reproductive rights, sex education and safe sex, safe schools, inclusion, diversity, and sensitivity. While I have no doubt that many liberals genuinely think policing our words and thoughts helps lift society in some well-intentioned way, the origins of political correctness acutely reveal that it is actually a powerful tool for those wishing to divide our country and destroy the America we know.
In 1923, followers of György Lukács and other Marxists joined forces with the Communist Party of Germany to establish the Institute of Social Research in Frankfurt. When the Nazis came to power in Germany, the members of the Frankfurt School fled. Most came to the United States and many became influential in American universities. The Frankfurt School’s studies combined Marxist analysis with Freudian psychoanalysis to form the basis of what became known as “critical theory” — destructive criticism of the main elements of Western culture, including Christianity, capitalism, authority, the family, patriarchy, hierarchy, morality, tradition, sexual restraint, loyalty, patriotism, nationalism, heredity, ethnocentrism, convention, and conservatism. Sound familiar? It should. It’s the Democratic Party platform.
Lukács instituted a radical sex education program in Hungarian schools. Hungarian children were instructed in free love, sexual intercourse, the archaic nature of middle-class family codes, the out-datedness of monogamy, and the irrelevance of religion, which deprives man of all pleasures. Women, too, were called to rebel against the sexual mores of the time. Lukacs’ advocating of “cultural terrorism” was the precursor of what would later become known as political correctness — the most powerful tool of the American Left.
These critical theorists knew that traditional American beliefs and the existing social structure would have to be destroyed and substituted with a “new thinking” that would become as much a part of basic social consciousness as the old one had been. Their theories took hold during the 1960s, when the Vietnam War opened raw nerves and created an opportunity for infiltration. In stepped political correctness and its hidden agenda. Over the years it grew, and now even the most fundamentalist of conservatives among us kowtow to the Thought Police.
Today, if you say out loud that giving condoms to middle school students is a bad idea, you are labeled a religious zealot. If you utter the once-assumed truth that marriage should be between a man and a woman, you are homophobic. If you agree with the Arizona immigration law, you are considered a bigot. Nobody likes to be called these names. So many people simply give up and remain reticent — silent out of fear of “offending” a vocal minority and as evidence of how “tolerant” they really are. Like dutiful frogs sitting in the proverbial pot of water, the temperature keeps rising, and we keep sitting there. If you can get the opposition to silence itself, you are half way to victory. The comprehensive and detailed control of all ideas, beliefs, and statements is one of the signature features of all totalitarian regimes.
Far too many Americans have forgotten the lesson they learned as children about sticks and stones. In a country overly sensitive about far too many things, where people are offended at the slightest joke or benign comment, political correctness is accomplishing its goal — not the stated purpose of protecting people from hurt feelings, but a much more insidious purpose: the silencing of political opposition and free speech.
It’s time to recognize political correctness for what it is: a tool of those wishing to destroy America and a doctrine which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd from the clean end.
So Mr. Wickert wants to defy Poltical Correctness? So he agrees that Political Correctness aka Cultural Marxism is not about freedom, or tolerance but is
a smiling Happy Face sticker slapped over a violent revolutionary movement?
Well I applaud his awakening. But lets see how serious he is.
1. Race. If race doesnt exist as Cultural Marxism proclaims, or is unimportant, why is that our first Black President has, somehow, come to wage war against the core values of white traditional America? After all the President has lived a life of unbelievable
privilege, not a life of discrimination and persecution. IF the Tea
Party proclaims itself to be non racial and open to all people..why is that
only white people choose to attend? Why is that only white people are denied
any racial self awareness? If race is unimportant why does Western
Civilization only go where white people go and when they leave, Western Civilization
departs too? Why does all of Africa function the same? Why do black run American
cities function like Africa, with its inefficiency, corruption, ignorance, violence?
Why does all of South
America look and act the same? Why is the hispanization of America bringing with it the values of Mexico? Why is White Pride wrong, but La Raza and Black Power
laudable? Does Mr. Wickert recognize that whites comprise 10% of the worlds population
and in fact are a tiny beseiged minority, rapidly heading toward demographic replacement. Will Mr. Wickert move to stop this?
2. Islam. Does Mr. Wickert recognize that Islam isnt just another religion like
Christianity? That Sharia, Jihad, Hiraj are inseparable from Islam and make Islam
incompatible with the Constitution of the USA..and that Islam needs to be kept out
of the USA if the country is not to go the way of Lebanon, Kashmir, the Balkans,India
Thailand, Indonesia and now Western Europe? Will Mr. Wickert block all Islamic
immigration..so that America can survive? Does he have the courage to actually
follow his new found beliefs?
3. Culture. Will Mr. Wickert agree that Hollywood needs to be stopped? That any country that encourages its young to ever greater acts of violent contempt for its own history and institutions cannot survive? Will Mr. Wickert agree that the means of communication
and mind control at Hollywoods disposal are far to powerful to be used in any manner
that makes a fast buck for hustlers and scum bags who control the apparatus?
4.Education. Is Mr. Wickert for breaking up the education racket beginning with the
Teachers Unions and the University tenure system whereby having the correct leftist
opinions is the sole key to advancement within the system?
5. Immigration. Does Mr. Wickert recognize the Lefts use of mass immigration to
destroy the European derived stock of the USA is a weapon of mass destruction?
Does Mr. Wickert recognize that political structure and stability are dependent
on some high degree of shared values? Will he say that Diversity is NOT Strength
Diversity is Chaos? Will he say that at 320 million people America needs no more
immigration? Will he hunt down the 30 million illegal aliens and deport them?
Will he seal the borders?
6. Homosexuality. Will he agree that homosexuality isnt merely a “lifestyle” or even a “free choice”? Will he agree that it is a emotional dysfunction that is compulsive, and self delusional and seeks to avoid self recognition by carrying on ceaseless warfare against mainstreamsociety? Will Mr. Wickert agree for example that Barney Franks homosexuality and the
destruction of the financial stability of the country are linked? Will he see that
Barney Franks spectacular denials of obvious truth is evidence of emotional disturbance?
And if homosexuality is a pathology will Mr. Wickert agree that, as it long was held
to be, it is a menace that needs to be controlled or at least kept out of positions of
public trust where it can do such damage as Barney Frank was able to do? Or are we
to sacrifice national survival to the altar of Tolerance?
How serious is Mr. Wickert about his defiance of Poltical Correctness?

And why did those members of the Frankfurt School flee to the US when the Nazis took power in Germany? They were all Jews. Freud. Hollywood. NYC-based mass media. ACLU. Academia. Jews are 2% of the US population, but you have to acknowledge the impact they’ve had on our culture, science, and politics. But to acknowledge that is the ultimate PC thought-crime. Oh, yeah, after reading about Lukacks’ cultural terrorism in Hungary, do you suppose that many Hungarians might have decided that the Jewish influence in their country had reached the point of diminishing returns and ought to be eliminated? You can tell similar stories about Leftist groups in every Central-European nation between the Wars. I suspect that a few Americans are getting tired of seeing an ACLU attorney show up right behind Santa at every Christmas display. But try to find anyone to say so in public — PC has been effective in the US, and who’s to blame? Americans, that’s who. None of this was enforced by anything more than name-calling by people who were themselves ‘fringe’ only 50 years ago when you get right down to it. Not very brave.
Hollywood was founded by Jews, but the studio heads were largely conservative and rabidly anti Communist. (especially LB Mayer) The New York Times were taken over from the 2 non-Jewish republican founders by the Ochs-Sulzberger famiiles in 1896, and they were non-practicing assimilated Jews. Fraud was also an assimilated Jew and as far as I know, not a communist. As for Hungary, given their history of anti-semitism, it should come to no surpise that they still blame the skeleton Jewish population for all their ills. Keep going though, you have yet to blame the Jews for Hurricane Katrina, 9/11 and of course, global warming.
“Anti-semitism” was the first of the PC slogans launched in the post-WW II era, and this characterization met with many others once it was discovered how effective it was – discovered, promoted, and sold as a slogan mainly by Jews.
In the second half of the last century new ones were invented, given the tremendous success of the charge called “anti-semitism.” Noted among them are: “racist,” “anti-feminism”, “homophobia,” “xenophobia,” “islamophobia,” down to “truthers,” “birthers,” and “hate speech” in the first decade of this century. Once an issue is brought up for discussion touching any of the subjects (Jews, blacks, illegals, gays, etc), the appropriate name will be produced to Alinsky someone out, that is degrade, humiliate, defame and intimidate the one who dares express a criticism of any individual or collective belonging to any of these groups.
But this name calling has had two profound effect over time: one was that it has trivialized the notion of “hate.” When the word “hate” is waved at any criticism then hate loses its weight. Moreover, this type of sloganeering has demonstrated the hypocrisy in it; for example, consider the subject of homophobia and racism. Here we have the gays calling critics of homosexuality “homophobes” because they (the critics) don’t want to admit that homosexuality is not a behavioral choice but gene-based (never mind the Mickey Mouse science behind their argument) as the gays and lefties (and even some Conservatives) argue. On the other hand, when the issue of race and intelligence is brought up, the blacks and the lefties argue that intelligence isn’t gene-based, but environmentally induced behavior (again, never mind the pseudo-science behind it).
Now, however, PC is almost dead at least among Conservatives where free speech trumps all imaginary “hate” mongering and Alinsky-ite name calling. An era of social “catharsis” is dawning.
All Christian groups more or less have faced up with the skeletons in their closets, have admitted their errors, their mistakes of the past and apologized for them. Here’s what I would recommend to the Jews, especially the atheist among them: apply some of the same self-criticism, man up, and admit the errors that Jews have committed and the sufferring they have brought on as a result to countless people(s). High up in their list of errors is the role that Jews have played in creating, diffusing, promoting and applying communism around the globe. Their on-going disproportional role in shaping and managing a leftwing radical progressive socialist agenda must be denounced. Their disproportional participation in statism as a means to achieve what they perceive as “redistributive” justice is nothing but an attempt to enslave human social systems in the name of liberalism – in effect imprison them in the name of liberation, eliminate them in the name of saving them. Their dispoportional, relative to their population size, presence in many circles of Western societies – the press, academia, financial institutions, government, the professions – whether deservedly or not, their disproportional presence there is to many an affront. Jews need to understand this and not fight it, because it will backfire. When almost half of the current Democrat Senators in the US Senate are Jews, this doesn’t show well for the jewish community in a country of 315 million people with a very diverse population stock as the US.
I would have asked the followers of islam, supposedly another religion, to do the same, like recognize their past errors, talk openly about many issues ranging from the life of their “prophet” and the numerous crimes against many peoples they have committed over the centuries – but I wouldn’t hold my breath on that. You can’t argue with them – they’re blindly following what islam calls for them to do, that is to spread it around and convert or eliminate the infidels by all means possible, overtly or covertly, benign or malevolent.
Please, consider all these points as made with no evil intent, but as an effort to engage Jews, gays and all other groups in this new era of openness and frank discussion, without the vail of PC.
Actually at that point it was probably more likely that they fled because they were Communists. The first concentration camp inmates were Communists. Of course a lot of them were Jews too, but as I understand it the first goal was to to inter the Commies. Not a bad plan actually.
You’re talking about the whole Culture War while the article addresses a single tactic used in that war. Each thing you mention is critical, no doubt, and the tactic of PC speech is one of the strongest defenses of those things since it denies even the use of the accurate terms required to argue against the rest of the corruption that needs rooted out.
Strategy is what you want an article on if you want the broad sweep of what you mention (and more) that has to be rolled back and eliminated from society. I haven’t seen an article that proposes a single strategy to defeat the entire array of corruption foisted on the people of this country but I propose a simple start. Elect only moral people to office at every level and refuse to be swayed by the huge lie of moral relativism. Those flowing with the herd and accepting arguments based on moral relativism need to wake up or need to openly agree that they, too, refuse morality in any form interfering with their own lives. It is not for the good of others that the moral relativists preach such things; it’s to grant themselves the right to behave in totally immoral ways.
Morals are not relative and there is good and evil that are good or evil at all times in all places in all cultures. No aborted baby has ever had any rights, rights granted us by our Creator not by our government, and refusing those rights to a fellow human being is something the destroyers of our society themselves decry as a great crime. So, when they refuse to grant rights to an infant in the womb but say they must be extended to those who terrorize us, they show they’re liars yet insist that such terms are relative, always relative. History itself calls them a liar every twenty seconds in this country when another abortion is performed. The root requirement for any strategy to take our country back is an end to so much pure and unadulterated selfishness and lack of responsibility. Selfishness and ill responsibility are packaged beautifully and passed out for free as an absolute good by the same parties that seek to destroy the nation. And woe unto those who dare define as selfish the marketers of the selfishness. The PC culture the author addresses have redefined that word to mean an absence of support for their goals rather than grasping, evil, trait that it really is.
Fighting the PC culture we’ve allowed to flourish is a very important part of taking back our country, but it is only a critical counterattack in a much larger war.

I grant you there may be Marxists who are politically correct, but their political correctness is an attribute that stems from sources other than Karl Marx and his doctrines. PC lexicon is subject to change on a moment’s notice. The author cites some instances but the two most common appear to be the terms used to describe blacks and the mentally retarded. The latter in my world seems to change with the seasons unfortunately none issue a schedule or a program. “Retarded” became “mentally handicapped” and other pc appellations in succession. Now the government has mandated “intellectually disabled” be applied to this segment of the population occupying the left side of the Bell curve. About fifteen years ago we jumped the shark on this and merely categorized them all as “Democrats”. Seems to work and none seem to be terribly insulted.
PC is an attempt by occupants of the left to exert a societal control to which they would never be elected. It is the oxymoron of the “Intellectual Left” that drives this as part of the maintenance of their plantation whereby they practice the art of self congratulation for defending permanent victims. Hopefully much of the coming drought will give major setbacks to this movement, but it will be the first aspect to reemerge as they lick their wounds.

Not only do we have to suffer the economic policies of the 30s Nazis, we have the social policies of ’30s Communists to deal with. It’s about time we toss out the entire crowd who thinks that the should be putting the 1930s in place in 21st Century America and then destroy the party that adopted those 30s beliefs because they haven’t had a new idea since they started plotting to regain control after they lost the Civil War.

Thank you for a very insightful article. I’ve blogged about the trend for a while now and followed some of the absurd cases you mention. As I pointed out in http://nopchere.com/you-do-not-have-a-right-not-to-be-offended/ the whole PC thing and the right to not be offended falls apart whenever we try to deal with it. You’ve provided some excellent examples.
PC dementia is an offshoot of language manipulation, its goal being to squash free thought.
The master of this PC madness is Noam Chomsky, a prof who gained his fame from the bastardization of language. He took the art of linguistics into very dangerous territory-totalitarian leftism.
You are right to castigate Chomsky, perhaps the world’s foremost epistemologist, but wrong to credit him with malignant intentions.

I’ve heard the same said of Joseph Mengele and I’m not buying it in either case. At some point even a “twisted disfigured genius” has to realize that the effects he’s having and advocating are evil. Otherwise, you’re saying not that the guy is a genius but rather a moron unable to tell the difference between right and wrong. It’s not that I don’t think a moron can rise very, very, high within the current political system we call “higher education”, it’s that I don’t think they’re allowed to given how useful they are at lower levels.

Great article! In the days before the n-word was banned or even deemed a put-down, in the early 70′s I was painting portraits to pay for my college tuition. I was hired by a wealthy black man who opened a BBQ restaurant. In the sittings, he told me that there were a lot of offers to franchise the chain, because of its name, “The Big Nigger”. He said it was a term to be proud of, that it reflected the rise from serfdom to freedom, the blood, sweat and tears of the black folks. Then the hate-filled anti-white, victimization movement forced him to close the restaurant…….Too bad that hate prevailed…..A missed opportunity to feel proud of your ancestors…

You DO realize that saying ‘piece of poop’ is politically correct, right? The correct word, as originally used in the phrase is ‘turd’. To change it is to take out the punch behind the phrase.
The best way to stop this ‘politically correct’ foolishness is to ignore it. The Libbies have an entire population dedicated to decrying words that they do not like, however just because the Libbies don’t like something does not mean that the rest of the public must buy into it. I suggest that the rational citizens disregard these people and tell them to mind their own business. Hitler made bad use of this type censorship so it seems odd to me that the United States would play this game, too. Until the 1st Amendment is repealed, people can say anything they please, offensive or not. Maybe some of the perpetually aggrieved minorities should develop some thicker skin or ignore that which they do not care for. This is what Whitey does while he is being called a ‘honky’ or a ‘cracker.’ Get over it.
It’s easy to say that until they (the bigots in charge) bring the full force of their power to bear upon you. People lose their jobs – their livlihoods because of decisions made by people afraid of legal repercussions. They are the people to fight – the ones who put the teeth into enforcement of the language codes.
An excellent article on a subject that, sadly, negatively impacts each of us every day. It is a shame really, that in my later years I am expected to learn all the ‘new’ words. I’m not speaking about Ipod, Droid, etc. that merely reflect the advancement of technology, but to those words in the English language that served us well for hundreds of years.
It has become so widespread that I understand that some black people in Canada, whose family and/or themselves have never been to the U.S., now refer to themselves as ‘African-American’ for lack of understanding what that actually means!
To be correctly aware of how to refer to our sexually different neighbors, one has to wander through a great number of names, phrases and even a combination of letters to cover the spectrum.
And don’t even get me started on how we must change words to differentiate between sexes.
To me it all comes down to common sense, I use the words with which I was educated. They were sufficient then – they are sufficient now! If that offends you, so be it. Suck it up and move on. I would never say anything to anyone to intentionally offend them – but if their expectation of word usage doesn’t come out of my mouth, that is their problem!

September 11, 2001 shook me to my core. The unthinkable became reality, a nightmare was unleashed. Frighteningly, some of our enemies are living among us, and we have no way to tell who they are. To make it worse, there are many who claim most of the muslims are peace-loving “moderates.” My first reaction to 9/11 was to ’round them up and ship them to their respective home countries. If we can’t tell the bad guys from the “good,” then I didn’t see that we had a choice. But in the days and weeks following the tragedy, I started to mimic the “tolerant-speak” I heard from President Bush and Mayor Rudy Giuliani. I admired them both for their heroic and courageous demeanor they led the Country in the aftermath. I reluctantly agreed that not all muslims are terrorists. So, I started to watch for the ground-swell uprising of the “moderates” to denounce the terrorists assault. The silence was deafening. I still see images of throngs of cheering and celebrations from all parts of the Islamic World. I’ve only seen perhaps a handful of muslims who have spoken out against the Taliban, Al Qaeda, Hammas, Hezbollah, or any other brands of tribes of marauders. I suspect some of the denouncers are reformed muslims, I know a few were. You would think 1.6 Billion muslims would be enough to police their own Religion, the sheer numbers would beat-down the intolerant terrorists, pummel them into submission or oblivion? No, that has not occurred. So I have to ask, “Why?” The only rational answer I get is, “they don’t want to.” SILENCE = CONDONE.
It has only been in the last year that I have begun to read a few blogs, barenakedislam, jihadwatch & creepingsharia that I have been educated to the fact of another adversary, the stealth-jihadist. Primarily led by CAIR & the Muslim Brotherhood, it is their mission to bring the United States in compliance with Shar’iah Law (Sharia Law) or Islamic Law. Islam is not just a Religion, it is also a culture and a system of laws. It is already making headway into the establishment of their laws in Europe, by both force and by placing themselves into positions of power, where they can influence laws and regulations. It is happening in America, they have forced Banks to create Muslim loans: interest is forbidden under Sharia, so they have structured the loans so as to not use the traditional interest rate. Schools are adopting Muslim Holidays and setting aside prayer time for students. Football practices have been scheduled around Muslim prayer. Political Correctness is the reason these allowances have been made, we’ve allowed our “Melting Pot” society to become a “Multi-Cultural” one. Diversity is celebrated, we have become hyphenated-Americans, and in so doing, we have lost our unique identity as Americans. I had a blogger post to one of my YouTubes that “American Exceptionalism” is a myth! In what kind of Alternate Universe are we now living?
I have for many years cringed at Political Correctness, and since the time of Obama, it has begun to resonate with me the severity of it’s danger. It’s started to come into focus just how insipid it is. I have been posting as often as I can that it is a VIRUS and we must stamp it out wherever we find it.
Thank you Mr. Wickert, you have done a brilliant job of exposing it for what it is. You have brought further clarity to this wickedness and I hope it is just the beginning of a National dialogue that leads to it’s demise.

Sounds very similar to the Roman Modus Operandi, doesn’t it? While it benefited their republic for a short period of time, overall it led them into civil war and eventually dissolution.
Oh, and to examine things more closely on a historical basis: We can handily thank Winston Churchill for igniting the Middle Eastern powder keg. Were it not for his decision to ignore tribal wisdom and instead appoint English dictators the hatred for the West most likely would never have reached this fever pitch. They would have been too busy fighting amongst themselves to bother anyone else.
Multiculturalism, cultural marxism, whatever, is just a way of dealing with diversity by destroying it.
If you pour on the cultural relativism and all cultures are basically the same, then you are really creating a uniformity of culture, religion, whatever.
It is a way of depriving traditions of their integrity.
It serves the aggressive ends of Islam very well.
Just as it served Communism very well.
Multiculturalism is the intellectual destruction of diversity.
It honors absolutely NOTHING.

I am offended by the term “Native American” when used to refer to the aboriginal people of this continent. I am as native as they are. I was born here, my parents were born here, their parents and the parents of those parents ad infinitum back to about the 1600s were born here. At least some of them were. And some of them are of those so called “Native Americans” as some of my ancestors intermarried with them and bore children who grew up to be my ancestors. Anyone born here, who’s parents were born here should be considered “Native Americans” regardless of their ancestry. And we are all just people. How many of you are really really white? Brown? Black? Red? Yellow? Turning green because you, like me, are sick of the bickering about race? We are all just shades of brown, some lighter, some darker. Cut us and we all bleed red.
This article is reminiscent of an article at American Thinker called The Point of the Dagger, by Jed Gladstein, another attorney. Seems like lawyers are pretty well attuned to the damage that the misuse of words can do to a society. BTW: for those who think political correctness is a Jewish phenomenon, they might want to consider that all those politically correct Marxists, by definition, cannot be Jews, since to be a Jew is, by definition, to believe in God. I know, people will say that this sounds simple so it must be simple-minded. Nevertheless, it is true, and Truth always trumps prejudice based on untruth.
Two minor corrections are called for here: Mr. Wickert says that “niggardly” means “spendthrift.” Actually, it means not quite the opposite: “ungenerous,” or “cheap,” or “penny-wise.” Then, he invented a new term, “cow-tow,” when he meant “kowtow.” That being said, politically correct speech and writing are not necessarily traceable to the Frankfurt School and Marxism, although the two are closely allied ideologically. I doubt that even David Axelrod, Cass Sunstein, or Anita Dunn would claim that politically correct speech is Communist in origin, though they would have no problem enforcing it. Political correctness is a poliomyelitic affliction that attacks, not the brainstem or spinal cord, but language, concepts and ideas in one’s mind and renders the mind impotent and helpless. In short, it attacks the mind, and, like Orwell’s Newspeak Dictionary in Nineteen Eighty-Four, seeks to reduce the range of the mind by homogenizing its contents and imposing mindless conformity. The catch is that, while imbeciles would not know the difference between plain and politically correct speech – they are not the objects of the tyranny – it works only if one is willing to submit, Muslim-style, to a higher “authority,” only if one knows that it is expected of one to knuckle under and bow to the god of sensitivity. This in turn contributes to a habitual conformity in politics, art, and in speech. Which in turn contributes to the growth of a servile, passive, complacent citizenry.

You’ve hit the nail on the head.
I am a practising Jew (proud of it, I must add) and I have been saying this for the longest time. I have been insulted, threatened and called a self hater but, reading your post I realise the numbers are growing of those of us who really want to rid ourselves of this insidious barrier to awareness of what is really going on around us. Of course it saddens me to think that some of my own people have helped enable the slavery of political correctness and multiculturalism. What my coreligionists fail to acknowledge is that there is no REACTION without there first having been an ACTION.
It is time for everybody, of any religion or no religion or political persuasion – to speak the TRUTH, to enable open and honest discussion, and most of all to break the chains put on us by fear of offence to all and sundry. Only then can we unite and face with strength the real enemy among us – radical extremist Islam
