Islamists on Welfare: Paid to Plot the West’s Demise
In 2008, the Toronto Sun reported that “hundreds of [Greater Toronto Area] Muslim men in polygamous marriages — some with a harem of wives — are receiving welfare and social benefits for each of their spouses, thanks to the city and province, Muslim leaders say.”
“Polygamy is a regular part of life for many Muslims,” Canadian Society of Muslims president Mumtaz Ali declared bluntly. “Ontario recognizes religious marriages for Muslims and others.”
Government officials quickly denied the Muslim leader’s claims about immigration law and social benefits regulations. Only one public servant seemed sufficiently concerned. “This is wrong,” said city councilor Rob Ford. “They should put a stop to this immediately.”
Instead, welfare abuse by Muslims appears to have metastasized across the Western world. Almost three years later, news stories about radical Muslims — often immigrants — engaged in social benefits scams emerge regularly from Europe, Canada, and Australia. Even when they are not involved in fraud, Muslims frequently are overrepresented on welfare rolls, compared with other communities. The statistics from around the globe are jaw-dropping, especially in economically uncertain times.
According to one 2007 source, immigration, of which Muslims comprise a significant part, “costs Sweden at least 40 to 50 billion Swedish kroner [approximately $7 billion] every year … and has greatly contributed to bringing the Swedish welfare state to the brink of bankruptcy.” Yet two years earlier, the country’s finance minister declared counterintuitively that “more immigrants should be allowed into Sweden in order to safeguard the welfare system.”
One Iranian immigrant to Sweden expressed astonishment at his new country’s policies: “In Sweden my family encountered a political system that seemed very strange. The interpreter told us that Sweden is a country where the government will put a check into your mailbox each month if you don’t work. She explained that there was no reason to get a job.”
The statistics from Norway are even more shocking. According to a University of Oslo study, “non-Western immigrants” are ten times as likely to be on social assistance as native Norwegians.
In Germany, Muslims are four times as likely to be receiving welfare as non-Muslims. However, unlike his counterpart in Sweden, Berlin’s former finance senator Thilo Sarrazin is speaking out against the benefits system and has penned a bestselling book condemning the nation’s immigration policies. Sarrazin stated while in office that welfare recipients could feed themselves on four Euros per day, adding that “losing weight is the least of their problems.”
Research by Daniel Pipes and Lars Hedegaard from 2002 reveals that mostly Muslim immigrants in Denmark “constitute five percent of the population but consume upwards of 40 percent of the welfare spending.” In that country, numerous “single” women who receive social assistance are really the wives of polygamous Muslim men.
Polygamy and benefits fraud go hand in hand across the continent. Last year in France, a polygamous Muslim and father of 17 children was charged with welfare fraud when authorities discovered that “two of his companions lived in Dubai for a year while continuing to receive welfare benefits worth 10,000 Euros.” The man did not exactly have a low profile, as he made news previously when one of his wives was fined for driving while wearing a niqab that restricted her vision.
In one instance, a former minister in the British government, which has been known to grant additional welfare benefits to cover a man’s additional wives, openly promoted welfare use and abuse among her Muslim constituents. Last December, deputy Labour Party leader Harriet Harman labeled Muslim immigrants who send a portion of their welfare payments to families back home “heroic.” She even “called for tax refunds to encourage more immigrants to follow suit.”
However, ordinary Muslims are not the only ones exploiting generous Western welfare systems for personal gain. In 2005, the UK Telegraph reported that the governor of Pakistan’s Sindh province had received British state benefits of around £1,000 a month for ten months, plus the rent for a northwest London house.
This is pure insanity! We have Muslims, most likely non-citizens, often extremist in nature, bilking our welfare systems for Billion$.

Think about this pathetic practice when passing through a supermarket check-out line when the cashier standing behind the counter earning a paltry 8 or 9 dollars per hour while bagging groceries for foreign welfare cheats who probably receive that amount and more…. for simply breathing our air.

I live here in California, and it has already started. Illegals have been getting welfare for years. If anyone brings up the subject they are called racists and insensitive.
It was at least 6 years ago that I saw (on tape) one of Britain’s radical imams instructing his flock that collapsing the British economic system through increasing welfare demands was an integral part of soft jihad.

Suicidal? Duh. When a government can’t find a way to deny benefits to those living OUTSIDE the country or those that preach to warriors fighting to destroy it there is NO HOPE for survival. Imagine for a moment: All the benefits that are granted these enemies of the state, as guaranteed by the welfare bozos, what if every citizen were guaranteed the same through tax credits? It would at least be totally equal and spur the economy. The only downside would be that the government would continue to borrow to pay our enemies when the tax receipts were reduced.

The problem is that, in reality, what can be done and what will be done is, in truth, probably nothing.
Like America, Great Britain and Europe are financing, aiding and abetting in their own destruction and their politicians are clueless as to any larger vision of what this means for their countries and with no sense of any solidarity with their own countries and cultures. It is like they are not only divorced from their cultures but in some manner hostile to them.
I don’t get this and never will. The West is insane to allow immigration because it has no measurable benefits to the host countries and quite a lot of measurable harm. In fact, the greatest purveyors of anti-immigrant sentiments in the West are the West’s own immigration policies and attendant welfare systems together with crime statistics; in other words, reality.
People in the West just don’t understand the dog eat dog mentalities endemic in the Third World that justify nearly any sort of behavior when it comes to fraud against any entity perceived as having money whether that is their own gov’t, a Western one or a tourist. Within Third World countries, it is the most common thing for someone like a tourist to be looked at as a big dollar sign walking down the street rather than a human being.
Bringing people from the Third World into the West is a fox in the chicken coop and in this sense certain sectors of Western gov’t's are all too happy to do the inviting and plucking which is a point of view I will not understand til I die. And I haven’t even mentioned the terrorism. Why are Western gov’t's giving away their treasure, security and cultures – why?

But here in America, the benefits are not nearly as generous as they are in Europe and Canada. Then again, Obama isn’t finished destroying this country yet, so we may still reach European levels of the welfare state. Just another reason to vote Obama out of office in 2012.

It is the choice of governments to choose to slash the welfare payments to any able-bodied man or woman. It is simple enough to ‘discourage’ those who tend to do ‘group charity’.
But why should they be forced off of welfare? They are many hidden benefits to them remaining where they are. One major problem with Islam is the notion that they are Superior to all others. This ingrained notion is the cause of much trouble to western lands. It needs to be knocked out of their heads.
What better way could this be accomplished than by the muslim themselves. They have basically chosen dhimmi status by way of welfare. This will plague them into following generations of dhimmitude. Thereby one of the major problem of dealing with muslims, is solved.
I am of the opinion that welfare is probably the cheapest way for them to learn the are not superior to all others. Their chosen reduced status is definitely a benefit to all others.

I disagree. It is we, non-Muslims, who are being made into dhimmis. Forced to pay jizya. Non-Muslims forced to finance Muslims whose goal as commanded by the Koran — for Muslims who follow their religion — is the cruel conquest of all nations and peoples and subjugation under extremely cruel Islamic sharia law where females are treated as inferior and defenseless non-Muslims have NO human rights.
In Muslim countries, non-Muslims live in daily fear. Non-Muslim girls, Christians, Hindus and Sikhs, are kidnapped, violently converted to Islam and raped/married to older adult males. The mainstream media is silent about all the Muslim attacks that are perpetrated against non-Muslim innocents. The thousands forced to flee for their lives.
The main problem with this theory is that in Muslim countries, Dhimmis are often required to pay special taxes or fees to Muslims. In the West, the Dhimmis in government provide special tax and fee money to Muslims without even being forced to do so! And I would imagine that many of these immigrants find ways to make extra money without paying taxes to the Dhimmis.
Additionally, are you sure that a secret feeling of inferiority (sometimes manifested as an expectation for superior treatment) is not already at the root of much Muslim rage? The protests demanding the institution of Sharia law, etc. in the U.K. and elsewhere certainly don’t seem like a good sign to me that welfare makes Muslim immigrants more docile.

There’s a term in the koran for infidels living under islam to pay for the pleasure of not being killed or forced to convert . . jizya. Here is my question: how to get and keep these folks off the welfare rolls? I think this is a stickier wicket than assumed…. I would very much appreciate practical comments from the PJ readers. Especially ones that are practical and ACHIEVABLE in a constitutional republic.
Here, at least, is a way to prevent any increase in the number of muslims being added to the welfare roles as well as a few suggestions to keep us safer as well. It’s an editorial I submitted to the WSJ, but they chose not to print due to their policy of kowtowing to the military-industrial complex as well as their lust for cheap labor from south of the border:
The politicos tell us if we don’t keep fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, that al-Qaeda will take over these countries and turn them into training grounds for terrorists. They would then presumably come here and kill more of us like they did on 9/11.
A more sensible solution might be to simply stop granting visas to al-Qaeda operatives to come to America in the first place. All nineteen of the 9/11 terrorists and the underwear bomber had government-issued visas. How would they have gotten here without them? Our east and west coasts are protected by vast oceans, and we can protect our north and south by bringing the troops home and stationing them on those borders.
Some concerns with this plan are:
1) How do we know who to refuse visas to?
The answer is anyone that is an Arab Muslim. This will involve some racial and ethnic profiling, which members of some political groups (that aren’t shipping out to a war in the Middle East) may find more horrific than war. The moratorium on Arab Muslim visas can be lifted just as soon as the jihad is over.
2) If our troops secure the borders, how will nannies and gardeners from Mexico be able to come to America for a better life?
They will have to enter the U.S. legally by filling out an immigration application. This policy change will upset the political groups that fail to understand that there is nothing wrong with Mexico that the Mexicans can’t fix themselves.
3) What about terror cells already in the United States?
Sending more troops to the Middle East won’t get rid of them. An added plus is if Homeland Security does its job, we can eventually disband the TSA and not have to be groped anymore at the airport.
4) If we pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan, won’t it be taken over by al-Qaeda?
Maybe, but since the President announced our withdrawal timeline, al-Qaeda operatives will just hide in the mountains or get some R&R in Iran until we leave and then take over anyway. We can’t save Iraq and Afghanistan unless we’re prepared to stay there indefinitely, or to neutralize Iran.
5) Americans want Osama bin Laden’s head. What about our revenge?
Give it up. Osama’s head isn’t worth the life of one more American soldier. Besides, the spread of Islam along with its militant faction is a numbers game we can’t win. We should cut our losses now and concentrate on protecting our homeland.
Please consider this politically incorrect but more cost-effective and practical alternative to war, and bring it up with your congressman.
It is a privilege for all, not just those of us born here, to live in North America. This continent (at least the northern two-thirds) has an abundance of natural resources unseen anywhere else in the world. The place is long-term self-sufficient, including having a lock on the world’s largest source of its most important commodity: fresh water. We ought to be protecting every aspect of it with all our might.
Those who wish to come here from elsewhere to live, prosper and contribute not only must show their gratitude for the opportunity but also must face the most serious consequences for sedition. The penalty for that kind of treachery has to be expulsion.
Adherents and supporters of political systems that are detrimental to our way of life cannot be anymore welcome than serious disease. Slam the immigration door to those who seek to destroy this place from within and return undesirables to their country of origin (once). Those who refuse to stay gone need to be sent away permanently.
Prevention is always better than cure. Our military should be constantly on guard and well funded, prepared to annihilate any enemy, collateral damage be damned. A small number of examples made of troublesome countries or groups would serve as all the deterrent necessary. Word as bond. Not threats, promises.
With the so-called leaders we now have these ideas are impossible.
We need either different ideas or new leaders.
My late father was an immigrant, a Jew from Syria. He served briefly with the US Army in WW II before becoming a citizen. When he brought his mother over some years later, it was entirely at his expense. So too was the support she required over the years. She never took a penny from the government. Yet today immigrants – Muslims especially – seem to expect so much.
US welfare laws have changed dramatically over the years, often in response to decisions by activist judges, like those eliminating residency requirements. That of course has driven up welfare expenditures. But EU countries, whose socialist ethos runs to their core, have gone completely wacko. They let their compassionate hearts overrule their heads. The end result is just as predicted by a Talmudic maxim. “Those who are compassionate to the cruel will, in the end, act with cruelty to those deserving of compassion.”
Compassionate hearts?! Try guilty consciences instead.
In Europe, a significant percentage of the initial middle-eastern/Muslim immigrant population moved to Europe because of 20th century decolonialization, to escape violence at home, and to fill low-wage, low-skilled jobs Euros wouldn’t do. (Sound familiar anyone?)
Once Europe went post-war socialist, they extended entitlements to citizens, then long-term non-citizen immigrants, then new immigrants – with very few limitations or qualifications. (Again, sound familiar?)
The whole process was accelerated by the formation and growing power of the very socialist EU.

I am very much aware of the treatment of non-muslims in their lands. The whole point of their treatment of others is not about the money. It is nice, but as all non-muslims are kept in a state of perpetual poverty, there is not much to be had money-wise.

This is a very informative piece of writing, but what amazes me is how we, the public, and moreover the state tolerate this travesty!! How can we pay out to those who in all likelihood have paid sweet FA into the system?? These muslim immigrants bring nothing, and are parasites who intend to destroy our culture. My sister-in-law has chronic health problems and receives WIC for her children from the state of Ohio. She and her husband are traditionalist Catholics who are opposed to birth control. (He is a Caucasian, she an East Asian adopted in early childhood from Asia by a Caucasian family in the United States.) They married three years ago. They had two children in two years and are expecting their third in August (against medical advice), and are far from done. A mutual friend expects that they could easily end up with eight, maybe more. My brother himself says they will have “as many as God gives us.”
The rest of my family think they are crazy. My sister-in-law does not work; my brother keeps body and soul together as a teacher at a small charter school and has no hope in the foreseeable future of being able to afford to feed and clothe the huge family they’re aiming for without government assistance. Naturally, the taxpayers in my family will be picking their tab anyway.
That’s just an example from my own life; I’ll spare comment on welfare fraud among (say) fundamentalist Mormons in North America. Why are government subsidies to crazy cultists no sensible person would give a penny to if they had a choice only an outrage when the money goes to Muslims?
I agree with your observation and many were concerned about such things here in the U.S. years ago and it was dealt with in sweeping changes by Clinton and many states. It still exists and I would like to see it ended completely.

You assume that these people have some sort of appreciation of a work ethic and wish to contribute to modern society. To them leeching off the state is not shameful, especially if they think that their full time JOB is to actively work toward the destruction of these western societies.

Now we are hearing OCAP is managing to get people into Canada to claim refugee status from Somalia to Bangladesh and after 3 months get onto disability benefits because there are no checks on those recipients.
