you are factually incorrect. the bible states that god spoke to all of the people at mt sinai. unless you believe that a mass conspiracy of atleast 1.2 million people(there were specifically over 600,000 men there over the age of 20) would lie and tell their children that god spoke to them and not one person would deviate from that lie it must be true. since history shows that conspiracies on much larger scales tend to fall apart due to 1 person. but ill give you jesus and mohamed as they were the only ones who aparently spoke to god by themselves and started a religion based on that. and if u do believe a mass conspiracy of that size is actually possible, just remember ure cell phone camera is recording you so the government will know everything u r doing

this has nothing to do with exorcising anything from the past. this has to do with israeli's right to be alive. just last week there was a poll in the west bank where 68% said a peace should only be made so that they can continue to attack israel and destroy them. a piece giving up land would be nothing more than a cease fire. It would prevent israel from protecting itself from the entire region that wants to destroy them and only entice them to try even harder to do so. Israel would be happy for a piece, but knows all too well that it is unrealistic to believe a true piece can ever happen with a ppl that overwhelmingly wants to destroy them. the demands of the fatah party for any piece show that they really dont want it. They think Israel will ever give up Jerusalem or allow for the "right of return" to Israel of all "Palestinians". native Americans would have a better chance of asking for all their lands back. the entire premise of their stance is beyond ridiculous and the fact that they have any support shows the true nature of the world today, that they have been and always will continue to be anti-semetic. Hamas is a recognized terrorist organization by the US and EU. Asking Israel to sit down with them is like asking the US to sit down with Al-Quad-ea. Would you negotiate with a ppl that have said and continue to say that your destruction is their mission as both Hamas and the Palestinian Authority's mission statements still include. You are clearly an anti semite no better than a Nazi and I hope you get what you have coming to you

Our neighbor lives in the house in which our grandfather used to live. He claims he bought the first part of the house from a Turki, and later the second part from a British bank, but that doesn’t make the sale any less illegal: my family lived in that house for hundreds of years and we don’t accept the documents of sale. Now he’s living there. He is the son of monkeys and pigs

Ehh, the author of this diabolical attempt at black humour, to make a point, is grossly ignorant of history. Jews prior to Israel declaring statehood actually only legally purchased approx 7-8% of the land in what became Israel proper. Furthemore, he has basically labelled all Palestin ians as jew hating bigots, which is doubly ironic because he can therefore have no complaints, if infact that were the case.

Also a lot of people seem to think the Palestinians have nobody to blame but themselves for their lack of state. Not so, unfortunately. You see resolution 181 held only 'recommendation' status. The Arabs were perfecttly entitled both legally and morally to reject it. And reject it they did. Hans Kelsen, a famous jewish jurist of the time even acknowledged this. Also the zionists by accepting 181 are rotuinely painted as compromisers or nobel etc etc. Unfortunatley this was ot the case. They accepted 181 (after all, who wouldn't accept being given a large swathe of somebody elses land) but it was dependant on both sides accepting. Furthermore, the expansionist tendencies of zionism were well noted. Even Ben-Gurion admitted 181 was merely a stepping stone to Eretz Yisrael. Also, by acting unilaterally and declaring statehood, against the wishes of the majority of the indigenous people of Palestine,Israel was established upon both legally and morally bankrupt foundations. That nations round the world moved to recognise (at the behest of the USA, and it was the USA who also bullied the vote for partition recommendation through the UN in the first place) Israel, does not detract from its original immoral creation.

Compared to the rest of the hate mongering, Palestinian-Israeli propaganda battles out there, this is WELL above average in terms of civility and intelligence. Kudos, I guess.

However, almost everything here ignores the story and misses it’s real message. (Heck, maybe even the author doesn’t see it.) The ease in which the story can be seen as the Israeli-Palestinian struggle does it a disservice. It turns any discussion of it into arguments over said conflict instead of looking objectively at the dynamics of tribal conflicts. Wouldn't it be funny if the story was really about some other conflict and everyone just sees a Jewish-Arab conflict in the ink blot?

It would be funny because superimposing what you want to see -and the depths to which human beings will run with it- is a key part of the Israeli Palestinian conflict and also what I consider as the true message of this story. Under the right circumstances, humans can descend to the point where they will risk everything to ensure The Other Guy doesn't win and do so in the firm belief that they are right. And, despite what propagandists claim, it is not limited to Arabs. (Does the Cold War era Mutually Assured Destruction ring a bell?) At some point, vengeance and victory becomes more important than your principles, your sanity or even your life. There’s no limit to the depths we can sink to.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict should be seen as an example, a piece of evidence to show the hopelessness of humanity. No matter how wrong we may be, we humans can always convince ourselves we are completely justified in actions, no matter how despicable they are. This applies to both individuals and groups. The human ego is such that WE are always right and THEY are always wrong.

Like the damn dirty apes we are, humans are great at dividing into groups and flinging our dung at each other. The Enemy is universally evil and out to get us, the Good Guys, who’ve done nothing wrong. Well, except for those pussies who don't want to fight. They're cowards and traitors and deserve what they get. Actually, I read an interview where the author of this story indicated he could see a future where moderate, secular, Israeli Jews become the defacto common enemy of both Palestinians and more radical Jews who run them out of Israel for not wanting to "do what it takes" to win.

We humans seem programmed to subdivide and fight. We easily adopt our side's talking points and so willingly see the other side as one monolithic block of evil. So much so, otherwise rational, intelligent, people who are neither Jewish nor Arab and live on the other side of the planet, pick sides in this pointless, waste of human life and economic resources and become so personally involved they sometimes come to blows.

Apart from the collateral damage, (because neither side is a monolithic block) I could care less about who “wins” the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Only the arms dealers have won anything. Any moral high-ground either side could claim was voluntarily surrendered decades ago. The transgressions committed by both sides are so abundant, the warmongers within their populations don’t even have to work to instill blind hatred of their enemy like most warmongers have to. The warmongers in one camp are, in reality, the best friends of the warmongers in the other camp because both sides can use the last enemy attack to justify their own upcoming attack which, in turn, usually does nothing but justify the other side’s next attack. It is a perpetual motion machine. This is why this silly tribal argument over a pile of useless rocks and holy bricks has continued with such vitriol for so long. It’s gone on for so long, an entire military-industrial-propaganda-complex now relies upon its continuation. This endless conflict has not just become a way of life, it’s a reliable source of employment.

The longer it goes, the more likely it will end in the complete genocide of one, if not both, groups. My money is on it ending the same way the Grangerford and Shepherdson Feud ended in Mark Twain's Huck Finn, where the surviving handful of one family chased down and killed the last members of the other family. Huzzah! Victory at last! Peace has been achieved!
