jrp61356 at 25: yes they will be slammed by taxes--designed to pay ino the treasury, the approximate cost of their bloody medical care over the years!

Eric#24: Your tedious book-bound belief that society can run on Adam Smith alone is the kind of stuff I'd expect from a YAFer, bit it does not cut the mustard here. We're tired of funding health care for people too good to buy insurance; do tell--what's wrong with making people pay for some of the health care cost they impose on us by not having insurance?

To Liberal Troll (#23): Interesting comments from a lefty. The left has long engaged in this exact same kind of behavior (for which they were criticized by the right). They spent the last eight years whining and complaining about everything that GWB did. Since the mid-terms in 2006, the Democratically-controlled Congress did virtually nothing else but try to prove to the country what a crook Bush and his Admin was. Even now, eight months after leaving office, the left is still whining and complaining about Bush.

It seems that the right has been paying attention, and is starting to employ the same tactics that the left has used for years.

If it works for you...

As far as the gist of the article goes, the way I understand it, there are clauses in the bill that would invoke financial penalties against those who do not participate in an insurance plan, be it private or public. That being the case, people would be forced into carrying coverage of some sort, or have yet more of their income taken from them.

23. Liberal troll:

Your ignorance knows no bounds. Start with Adam Smith. If you can get through that, move on to Hayek, Von Mises, and Milton Friedman. Then maybe, just maybe, you'll have a clue.

Oh listen to you wailers!

In 1964 or 5, we put seatbelts in cars. Their use was not required then but it is now and a good thing too. People that don't wear them increase the cost of medical care for all of us so they can ride beltless. Anyone here want to advocate the "right" to ride beltless and tie up the ICU's?

You same cro magnons howled when they required motorcycle helmets--for the same reason. "Its vioalting my freedom," you wailed. And preventing me from paying for your head injuries too, thank goodness.

The healthcare Act will require people to get health insurance: it will stop riding "for free" on those of us that have it: meaning no more moochers at the hospital.

Face it folks: we can't have more docs doing plastic surgery on breasts, tummies and eyelids while ICU's are closing. Change is needed. Change is here!

Now go back to your pork rinds, beer and fatty sandwhiches (we'll come after those next); let the new Administration fix the problems.

Good grief you people whine all the time!

The Liberal interpretation of the Constitution regarding health care as a right:

"...... and Healthcare for none"

Between the coming of retirement age baby-boomers, the inefficient government handling of healthcare billing and provision of services, new government agencies intended to be put in place to deal with even more government control, and the likely reponse by physicians of early retirement the shortages will make England, France, Russia, and Canada's healthcare delivery system look like the preferred choice of delivery systems. At the peak of the communist era behind the wall of Russia, people did not seek out healthcare unless they were ready to die. I know, because I treated some of those people when they were in the States.

The failure of this Administration to take into account even the most basic of economic principles and unwillingness to involve Doctors and othe Health Care Providers to have input on the proposed bills has doomed us all. The only hope is to defeat the current proposed bill.

The idea that it is the Democratic bill or nothing is a very dangerous philosophy and ignores the sound ideas that could save our system and I believe our country.

If Obamacare is crammed down our throats against the will of the majority of Americans just what is the response that the Left expects of Conservatives? Do they believe that we will simply accept defeat and the unconstitutional imposition of socialism on our nation? Do they think we liberty loving believers in Constitutional government will accept top down control of our lives? The answer to that is a resounding NO. I will not live my life under a totalitarian state as an indentured servant to my fellow citizens. I will not allow any more of my hard earned income to be taken by force to be redistributed to another person who has done nothing to earn it. The Democrats have demonstrated exactly who they really are through this health care debate. They so desperately want to rule rather than govern us that they have resorted to lies, obfuscation, bullying, and bribery. To all of this I say We the People are a free people and we will NOT go quietly into the good night.

...but employers are probably going to dump you onto the public plan.

Of course employers are going to dump you into the public plan under Obamacare.

The current debate amongst democrats (thankfully taking leave today for the Jewish Holiday until next Tuesday, praise Allah, no new pronouncements for 4 days) seems to have been reduced to EITHER the public option will be forced down the throats of the American public OR we'll go with the BS of co-ops, aka the smokescreen for the public option.

Medved made the observation that illegals will be covered by the SCOTUS. No legislation required

Already the mantra is out there..."of course, in ANY EMERGENCY, any extant human being inside the physical borders of the United States will receive medical care"

The Prezzydent's this week solution to the dilemma ? Make illegals legal, i.e., 20 million more officially on the rolls.

If I were a doctor facing this boatload of legislative intrusive BS into the practice of medicine, I'd think about retiring, too.
