Obama’s Ineptness as President Might Save Him
Each presidential election is different. The factors that led to an easy reelection win for Richard Nixon are quite different from the factors that led to Benjamin Harrison’s reelection loss. Yet there is one issue that has been dominant every time an incumbent president has come up for reelection: Whether the president was actually any good at his job. So will the fact that Obama is an awful president be the main issue in 2012?
Historically, whether a president is very good at running the country is usually the most prevalent issue when he is up for reelection. Even controlling for other factors such as amount of powder in wigs and size of mutton chops, if a president is horrible at his job, that is the biggest indicator that he won’t be reelected. In fact, many say the point of having elections is to periodically be able to get rid of a president who isn’t very good. For instance, back in 1980, the fact that Jimmy Carter was a terrible, awful president was by far the biggest issue of the election. Any suggestion that his opponent was a right-wing extremist was outweighed by the fact that Carter clearly had no idea what he was doing as commander-in-chief and people felt it was best he move on to an occupation like building houses, where he was less likely to cause major harm.
Many expect the 2012 election to play out similarly, as Obama has failed in ways that rival even Carter’s failures. Internationally, he’s hypocritically in a war in Libya, which he can’t coherently explain and which even his own lawyers think violates the War Powers Act. Domestically, well, it seems almost mean spirited to point out the facts there. In fact, the only place Obama hasn’t done worse than Carter is in being bullied by lagomorphs. So it would seem an easy task for whoever Obama’s opponent is to just say, “Look what Obama’s done! LOOK AT IT!” Then voters will conclude that they shouldn’t return Obama to a job that’s clearly above his pay grade.
This seems like simple analysis, but the voters of today aren’t the voters of 1980. Well, some are, but they’re a lot older and now know what the internet is. And everyone is in to ironically liking stuff, like bad pop songs and, perhaps, horrible presidents. Anyway, the point is that voter expectations of the president may be quite different now, and maybe whether or not a president is very good at his job may not be the major factor it used to be.
Saying Obama is inept by the standards you employ is like declaring it hot outside because your yardstick tells you so.
He is not inept. He is not stupid. He is not confused. To say so sells this man short. Sun Tzu would council you otherwise in sizing up your enemy – and he is exactly that – an enemy of the American Republic.
He has ushered us into a economic death spiral by virtue of his enormous deficits and debt, larger than all of his predecessors combined. Any sane person looking at the parade of economic statistics (not to mention the later revisions of those figures, almost always to the negative) has to conclude that what Washington is doing is not only not working, it is making things radically worse.
He has abused the power of his office to enact regulations and executive orders that completely bypass Congress that have a chokehold on the American economy. Nowhere in our Constitution is the concept of Czars mentioned. A bad idea employed by previous presidents has been carefully honed to a fair-thee-well under Obama into a complete usurpation of power. Not to mention the political leanings of those he has selected to fill these posts. Calling these communists ‘czars’ is richly ironic.
He has championed the passage of heath care reform legislation that will not only utterly bankrupt the nation, but will significantly undermine the aggregate quality of care in this nation – which was excellent prior to his needless tinkering. That we would allow a man who thought it just peachy to toss a baby who didn’t get the memo that he was to die when he was aborted into the dirty linen, a man who thinks that surgeons hack off limbs just for kicks and a few extra bucks the responsibility to overhaul that which only needed a tweak or two is a gross dereliction of our civic duty. And of course, what kind of demagogue would he be unless after hacking half a trillion dollars off of Medicaid, he accuses his political opponents of playing politics with senior’s health care.
No, this man has been wildly successful in doing exactly what he set out to do, fundamentally transform the United States of America. He is not a president so much as he is the destroyer. He is the person that the founders warned us about, hell, he is the embodiment of the person that they rebelled against! No president in our history so richly deserved impeachment, conviction and removal from office. The chances of that happening are somewhere between slim and none – and Slim just left town.
And there are entire swaths of the American electorate that are just as eager to vote for him again as they were the last time.
Pray for your country. It’s desperately needed.

The thing is, the Republicans need to nominate someone decent. An Obama-lite Mitt Romney isn’t going to cut it. Plus the candidate is going to have to face a media that is hostile to any challenge to their idol.
NPR did a segment on the changing demographics in the U.S. White people, as they call them, are a minority. They assume that BHO’s base will be mostly minorities (the new majority) in 2012. Consider the propaganda against the U.S. that permeates school curricula, K-12 and the universities alike. I didn’t mean my comment to be a downer. I just wanted to alert readers here to the strategy of the Democratic Party. Inner city schools are a disaster, and the teachers unions are a major factor as they oppose charter schools. If the Republican candidates press hard on this issue and demand a quality education for the urban poor, they will outflank the Democrats, who are very vulnerable on this issue.

Until we ever see Obama’s transcripts, the jury is out.
turfmann, I can agree with especially your second paragraph about the actual nature of who Obama is, but by the time we get to the last paragraph I’m not sure. It’s not that removal of Obama is a bad idea; it’s that the implication is that R vs. D, left vs. right debate / voting is the solution. I don’t think the end-result will be significantly different whether Obama is in/out, or whether McCain had gotten in. The reason I say this is that all these things like destroying our economy (e.g. shipping jobs to China), the Balkanization of the country, the courting of Islam, etc. were all started before Obama and will continue marching forward regardless of whomever the D or R candidate is. Certainly the Obama stamp is further left than a McCain, etc.; but, I think the end result would/will be the same. Only time will tell.

You’re right. These things were started before Obama. However, I think many people were unaware then but have now awoken to see the insanity. We need to keep prodding people to read a variety of news sources while sharing information and educating them to the dangers. With hope and sense, we may be able to swing back (at least to the center) in the nick of time. I pray for a re-awakening in this country.

Obama is actually much worse than King George III and the British Parliament of the 1700′s. Our president clearly doesn’t believe in the ideals we inherited from the British which encouraged our American Revolutionaries to fight first for their rights as Englishmen, and then to be independent Americans.
And Obama’s close associates from Frank Marshall Davis through Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright tell you where our president’s sympathies lie: far, far to the left of George III, Edmund Burke, Thomas Jefferson and even Thomas Paine.

Same old, same old. But with 9.1%+ unemployment and an economy in shambles, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that they guy in the White House who spent trillions of dollars of OUR MONEY to fix that is an utter failure. Well, yes, Obama has done a horrible job, but look at all the things he hasn’t done:
– He hasn’t sold nuclear weapons to Al Qaeda;
– He hasn’t offered Sarah Palin’s children as hostages to Cuba;
– He hasn’t ordered that the Statue of Liberty be hauled out to sea to be used as a practice target by the Navy.
So as bad as he’s been, he could have been so much worse!
That implies that Obama will have the full backing of several powerful forces in next year’s election:
– Muslims;
– Palin haters;
– Bored naval gunnery officers;
– and of course, James E. “Jimmy” Carter, 39th president of these United States, who wants us to see how bad a president can be when he really works at it!
It could go down to the wire, folks. Right…down…to the wire. Especially if the GOP should nominate Mitt Romney, Jon Huntsman, or John “Hey, give me another shot, I’ll get it right this time, I promise; I perform well under pressure; I’m a war hero, you know” McCain. But any other conceivable candidate, including the rotting Durian on the bottom shelf of the fridge at RNC headquarters, will take The Won to school.
(And no, there’s no truth to the rumor that the Durian would select Bob Dole as his running mate. Get your mind out of the gutter.)
The real kicker comes next year before the election when He gives legal status to 30 million illegal aliens, with an executive order, and gives them the right to vote. Extremely difficult to overcome that many new Democratic voters. The election won’t even be close.

First of all; He’s a fraud as the first black president.
He lived his life as a white boy with his foster parents. He had no “black” parental guidance during childhood. (Documented).

19)Puts the DOJ on the job of protecting only one class of people. All others are not “intended” victims, therefore, no matter what is done to them, they are not worthy of protection.
20)When the books show bankruptcy, the gangster government simply needs to confiscate more. It needs more victims to build more class and racial/ethnic warfare to blame more of “those who need no protection”, and to steal more wealth.
If THAT is what you wanted from a President, along with someone trained to “keep people soothed” by saying the right words to con them into believing you didn’t hate them, when you really did…you have found your man.
We allowed all this to happen. We are currently lead by people who are lying about what they intend to do and why they intend to do it. And we adopt their language, assist in their promotion, buy their movies and products, feel ashamed when they peer pressure us.
We fight back like sissies. We tut-tut and tsk-tsk. From the couch. We adopt their words, go to their classes, absorb their rules.
We watch their TV programs. We try to “debate” them and they ridicule and scorn us. They are not interested in “debate”. They own us. Lock, stock and barrel.
So, let’s roll over and die already. We are too weak, too lame, too gentle, too accommodating to do anything else. Heaven knows, we won’t stand up for God, country or our fellow man. We are led by 20% of those who want us to kneel before them and apologize. Grovel. So, let’s do it already and get it over with.
At least then, maybe their mask will come off. And the monster behind it can devour us whole.

Obummer is clearly a statist tool, but he is in practice more a fascist than a communist, two sides of the totalitarian coin. Obummer has not made much noise about nationalizing firms and industries, which would be outright communism; however, he has worked to rein in firms and industries with ever more regulation leaving said entities only nominally at liberty and in private hands, which is fascism a la Mussolini. Maybe it is time to hopenchange the Fascistis’ cry: “Viva il Douche!”
Obama does have two advantages:
1. He’s BLACK–and black voters won’t abandon The First Black President ™.
In 1979-80, the Congressional Black Caucus split from Jimmy Carter and endorsed Ted Kennedy’s primary bid to take the Dem nomination away from Carter. That split in the Dem Party contributed to Carter’s loss. That won’t happen this time. No matter how awful a President Obama is, black people will stick with him. Polls show their approval rating of Obama remains in the 90s, unlike just about everybody else’s which has dropped 15-20 points. And even if Obama were as unpopular as Carter, the loyalty of blacks to Obama dooms any attempt by some other Dem to take him on in the party primaries as Ted Kennedy did with Carter.
2. He talks like a liberal college professor.
That attracts the college-educated, most of whom lean left. Among this cohort, approval of Obama remains at around 75%.
In short, Obama’s resurrection of the old Eugene McCarthy/McGovern coalition remains largely intact. Unlike Carter and Humphrey before him, Obama doesn’t have to worry about losing his base, no matter how bad a job he does.
But he’s not Black. Even in his Brazillian paradise he would only be Mullato. Pardon the spelling, it’s late.
From the time Obama appeared on the national stage and folks other than the Democrat Media looked into his background, there has been much use of “Marxist”, “Socialist”, “Fascist” and “Muslim” to describe him. “Narcissist” is bandied about, and for good reason. His intelligence has also been called into question given his difficulty speaking when not on teleprompter and apparent cluelessness on economic issues.
All this applies, based on a clear pattern of behavior. Yes to all of the above. Yet there is more going on than belief in destructive ideologies or mere malice. At his heart, he is a Vandal. Except for the scale and damage done, not a lot different than a 12 year old sent into an antique shop with a baseball bat and told to do as much damage as possible before the police arrive. He is full of rage and with great glee swings the bat and enjoys the results. Always the outsider, he has been programmed from a small child to resent others and blame whites and America for all the world’s ills. No amount of logic, reason or declining poll numbers will alter his course. He is the Terminator – he will not stop unless Sarah Conner arrives on the scene.
George Soros and others like him knew exactly who they were getting when they chose Obama to head the Democrat ticket. While Hillary would have advanced the cause of world socialism with bad policies and overspending, she would not have done nearly the damage to our country in eight years that Obama has done in three. World government cannot be achieved with a strong United States in existence. Trigger our collapse and the entire world economy follows.

The media has been exposed as a schill for the dems, and other than trial lawyers, union bosses and welfare moochers, I don’t think that there will be any groundswell of support for B.O. I’ve seen a lot of elections in my life and have seen a great many poor politicians get re-elected time and time again. People know these politicians are bad and often re-elect them anyway. Why? Because the challenger(s) are often still worse than the incumbent.
No matter how bad a politician is and no matter how disgusted the electorate is with him (or her), a bad politician can and often will be re-elected if his opponent(s) are perceived as even worse than the incumbent.
It simply isn’t enough to publicize how awful the incumbent is. You can yell it from every rooftop and it still won’t matter unless the challenger is considered credible and desireable.
Most people decide that a challenger is credible on the basis of other smarter people endorsing him (or her). In other words, you might like the look of the challenger but you probably won’t vote for him unless someone well-known endorses him. I think people worry that they are just being taken in by a slick package if the challenger doesn’t get endorsed by others. Therefore, most people look to those that they perceive as smarter/savvier/better-educated than they are.
Some people probably still rely on respected family members or clergy, to be those endorsers but I suspect the number of people relying on those sources are fairly minimal and declining. The vast majority of voters look to the commentators that they see on TV as their guide to how credible a given candidate is. And we all know that the MSM is massively biased toward the left and leftist candidates.
That’s why Republicans will always fight an uphill battle to get candidates endorsed by the MSM. The MSM, if it was totally free to follow its own ideology, would probably never endorse any Republican under any circumstances. But their masters know that they have to maintain the fiction that they are unbiased so they will always endorse some Republicans, usually the ones that are closest to Democrats, i.e. RINOs.
The influence of the MSM on the opinions of the majority of voters appears to be declining, which is great, but I think they are still very influential. I don’t think that the New Media are at the point where they alone are going to be able to advocate a candidate and have him/her succeed – and they probably never will be at that point. After all the New Media is not going to be the same uniformly leftist monolith that today’s MSM is. The New Media are going to be divided over the credibility of the various candidates from the various parties so the Republicans can’t reasonably hope to see the entire New Media get behind one of their candidates. That means that Republicans will probably never get the sort of massive support that today’s Democrats get from the MSM.
That means that we might still see someone like Mitt Romney or another of the RINOs win the 2012 Republican nomination. Unless perhaps a couple of key MSM outlets get taken over by Constitution-respecting Republicans. It might actually be best if such takeovers were to be conducted in a stealthy manner so the outlet’s endorsement of a non-RINO Republican couldn’t be easily outflanked. After all, if, say, the Koch brothers openly bought NBC and declared it to be the new voice of the Republican Party, the left would just trumpet that and claim that NBC was no longer credible because it had become a Tea Party mouthpiece, thus minimizing any good done by an NBC endorsement of a given Republican. I’m not sure if a takeover could be made stealthy though, even in the short term, i.e. long enough to influence the 2012 election.
Hank, much of what you say has some truth to it, but methinks you may be taking too dim a view of things. Just as the racism card has become a parody of itself, most, if not all, of the Lib talking points are trite and utterly predictable. Obama has had his smug mug in our faces on a far too regular basis, and his words rarely match his actions. He tells everyone to get to work and share in the sacrifice and then goes on his umpteenth vacation with his phony, vile, dump truck of a wife at taxpayer expense. At a certain point the MSM parroting the mantra of the donkey party line reaches a saturation point and it becomes patently obvious that they have a nakedly partisan agenda. And the world according to the MSM has been exposed a lie and a leftist fantasy. The economy is not ‘turning around’, things are not improving in the middle east, no matter how often we hear loving references to the ‘Arab Spring’* and with Obama’s reverse Midas touch, the media are stuck polishing a big stinky turd. Try putting a happy face on our record high 50 million food stamp recipients, for example. Obama sucks big time and it gets more obvious every day.
I optimistically hope that the tide has turned, and the populace is far more aware of how incredibly bad the Obama administration has been for the USA, and indeed the world. And remember this: things are NOT going to get better in any area of domestic or foreign affairs as long as the Mahogony Moron and his Maoist Minions are calling the shots. And I think people are afraid of what the Clown in the White House is going to unleash next, certainly the entire business world is (save those who benefit from his moronic green energy schemes etc.) The MSM then has but one strategy- SLIME, SLIME, SLIME and then slime some more. But will it work? I’m thinking no. I think that people are sick of his shit. My liberal pals don’t seem to want to talk politics nowadays, at least with regards Obastard. Doesn’t bode well for the man-who-would-be-dictator-for- life. However, if the catastrophe of a second term occurs, the US may be toast. Then there may be a second civil war, or world war, I don’t like to think about it.
For most voters the misery index is the final arbiter of how they’ll vote. I don’t think Obama can buck the cost of gas and groceries and an unemployment rate that factoring in how many are under-employed is closer to 15% than the official 9%. You can tell people all day long that Obama is an America hating marxist. Matters not. What matters is personal economic pain and of that there is a surfeit.

I think that, amazingly enough, despite the never-ending siren’s call of our media/entertainment/academic elite, we still are liberty-loving Americans. Obama was an aberration: the convergence of war-weariness (against an enemy that our “leaders” — including W himself — would not dare to name) and the MSM/RNC advancement of the McCain candidacy.
The proof will come with the pudding served late next year, 2012. I am hopeful that the writing will be clearly on the wall, and the Left will suffer their greatest defeat, ever.
There are many factors which determine a perception of a President’s ineptness, but having the helicopters crash in the desert was the coup de grace for Carter. On the other hand, Obama’s drones are killing machines and he got Bin Laden. Obama inherited an efficient, functioning military and he permitted it to keep doing its thing. Carter downsized it as part of the post-Vietnam syndrome and got ambushed by the hostages being taken in Iran. So Obama may have lucked into much better military accomplishments than did Carter, but still, Obama has the good images, Carter the bad ones, and that may make a big difference.
No, Dwight, people only care about foreign affairs when a) There’s a big shooting war on, and b) the economy is doing well. Neither of these things is happening. Obama will be shellacked on 11/6/12.

Obama’s elevation to the presidency still has a lot of us spooked, but it’s heartwarming that we can at least laugh about it. In an age where a jury can find overwhelming circumstantial evidence inadequate to convict an obviously guilty as sin young woman of murdering, if perhaps not intentionally, her young child, we can all be forgiven for harboring the suspicion that things will never get better. But they will.
It took more than one busted presidency to bring on Obama. It took an inept papa Bush and our favorite degenerate prez, Bubba, to set the stage for the O’s ascendency—by lowering the bar, that is. Even a slew of mediocre presidencies prior to Obama would not have been enough. Obama should thank his lucky stars that he had the chance to be President of the United States of America for one term; the stars will not be aligned for him to get a second.
A long tortuous wait for 2012; pray for our nation. We have our military Chiefs of Staff(we can trust them) who will not let this incompetent make the wrong decision.
Dem-Libs Behaving Badly: Sweeney, Susman, Et al
In Demonic: How the Liberal Mob Is Endangering America, Ann Coulter draws direct parallels between the French revolutionists of the eighteenth century and twenty-first century American liberals. Our libs engage in comparable destruction, mindlessness, and disrespect for order and civility as did French mobs over 200 years ago.
We witnessed a prime example of such liberal behavior in Madison, Wisconsin when unionistas like the SEIU caused massive damage to the Capitol building to pressure Republican Governor Scott Walker into backtracking on his commitment to restore sanity to the Badger State’s finances. We saw it in the strong-arm tactics used to suppress legal town hall protests against Obamacare. It regularly occurs in vicious commentaries by the likes of MSNBC’s Ed Schultz.

Those instances, however, pale in comparison to “official” Democrat liberal exhibitions of grossly disrespectful incivility and vile partisan insults. Dem-libs in positions of authority don’t usually tear up buildings or beat up lawful protestors or openly wish conservatives would kill themselves. They let their flunkies handle that end of the abuse spectrum but are very adept at a variety of other abuses.
American “progressives” from state houses to the State Department recently showed their true colors. Cases in point on the state level are New Jersey’s Democrat Senate President Stephen Sweeney and on an international level Ambassador to Great Britain Louis B. Susman.
Sen. Sweeney is disenchanted and upset with Jersey’s conservative Republican Governor Chris Christie over Christie’s perceived slights and state budget cuts, additions, and line item vetoes. Sweeney expressed his disenchantment and upsetment in no uncertain terms, including calling the governor a “bully and a punk,” adding, ”I wanted to punch him in his head.”
Not content with that nastiness and threat of violence, Sweeney drew upon his enviable grasp of popular culture and filmdom by comparing Christie to a well-known villain: “You know who he reminds me of? Mr. Potter from ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,’ the mean old bastard who screws everybody.” He later reiterated his vulgarity by calling the governor “a rotten bastard” and “a prick.”
Classy, Stephen, classy!

Never underestimate the cluelessness of the average Government worker, doctors and corporate business people who are liberals first and sentient human beings second, the inner city gimmie crowd and people who really do need Katie Couric to tell them what to think. They are everywhere and our only hope in not having Obama move on to the Second Act is that there are not enough of them in a sufficient number of states to carry the electoral college.
Today’s politics is race-driven – pure and simple. It matters not a tinker’s cuss (curse) whether the head of State and his/her administration appears to be acting in the traditional and/or genuine interests of the nation.
In a heavily mixed multiracial nation which America and increasingly the rest of the West is relentlessly morphing into, different ethnicities and their respective cultures habour different expections and thus desired outcomes. In our contemporary world, race happens to be the only central driving force for the moment at least.
Various Asiatic and South American immigrant/asylum seeker groups have exactly the same goal in mind as that of the African American clan, ie, to attain power and absolute power at any cost and I truly means – any cost.
It is the former assortment of non-White ethnicities who will eventually demographically control America. As a consequence, any retained recognition of a Constitution, Democracy and free elections will be a thing of the past.
America is destined to become just another extension of the Third World run by Third World peoples because the founding stock of America allowed themselves to be progressively coerced, brainwashed and then compomised into this state of affairs.

Obama may well be saved by a carefully cultivated aura of well meaning incompetance, but not from being turned out of office in 2012.
If as many of us suspect, he is actively engaged in his nefarious program of “social justice”, and he does not get his ass back inside the ruled lines of constitutional law, he will first see his cabinet members removed by impeachment or criminal prosecution and then he will see his own Bill of Indictment.
Of course, we’ll give him and Biden the opportunity to resign.
