Obama’s Dereliction of Duty

While Obama continues to fiddle his atonal health care tune, the flames of war and recession and fiscal collapse rage all around him.

Jobs must be our No. 1 focus in 2010. — Barack Obama, January 27, 2010.

So much for all that.

After a year of crisscrossing the country hawking his health care boondoggle, President Obama in his State of the Union address graciously took note of a separate, minor problem — America’s continued mass unemployment.

Obama’s first year in office saw the economy bleed millions of jobs and bottom out at the lowest labor force participation rate in 25 years. The official unemployment rate for December was 10 percent, a scary but  misleadingly sunny number which failed to take into account the millions of Americans forced into part-time work or those who left the job market altogether in frustration and disgust.

Naturally, such dismal statistics got fair media play as 2009 wound to a close. So the president paid lip service to the jobs situation when he addressed Congress in January, 2010, promising to buckle down and concentrate on getting Americans back to work in the coming year. A lot of Americans, a lot of jobless Americans, likely gave a sigh of relief and uttered a hearty “it’s about time.”

Unfortunately for them, what came instead was a renewed frenzy to pass nationalized health care, and a corresponding neglect of the still dismal unemployment situation. The last weeks have seen 1) the release at last of the president’s own health care plan, 2) a much ballyhooed but still farcical health care summit, and 3) yet another public presidential plea (yawn) for the necessity of national health care. And now Obama is reportedly gearing up for yet another health care tour as his allies in Congress prepare to make their final push to pass this misbegotten legislation by Easter.

Meanwhile, millions of Americans continue to fill the unemployment lines or take menial work in order to have something on their resume besides a year-long gap of eating Cheetos and playing Guitar Hero. One can only conclude that Obama does not care whether you have a job or not, so long as he can force government health care down your throat.

Unemployment numbers are GUESSTIMATES, and it’s becoming evident that they’re made by roughly the same folks at CRU and NASA/GISS.

  2. Politics for Aristotle is not a struggle between individuals or classes for power, nor a device for getting done such elementary tasks as the maintenance of order and security without too great encroachments on individual liberty. The state is “a community of well-being in families and aggregations of families for the sake of a perfect and self-sufficing life.”

You forgot to mention Iran going nuclear. And what is the Obama administration doing about it? Nothing.
Talk about a dereliction of duty, this fool & his team of amateur-hour incompetents don’t have a clue.

HEALTHCARE! HEALTHCARE! HEALTHCARE! (Um, how ’bout the War and Economy, Democrats?)

To borrow a phrase from a great American, “Obama is a F…ing retard”.

  7. The fundamental misconception is that Barack Hussein Obama ran for president of the United States because he wanted to be President of the United States.

Barack Hussein Obama wants something entirely different: to create an empire of his own imagining. Granted that others have been there before him, if not here, but in his self-absorption he’s unlikely to give that much thought.

If Obama fulfills his agenda, the United States of America will pass into history as the Noble Experiment that Fell to the Vultures of the Left. Some of us will mourn. The Obamunists? Not so much.

    Pray.

We do not need a president of the United States to “do something” about unemployment! This widely held myth has caused enormous harm. Tax breaks, lowered government spending, and overall “hands off” policies will result in the creation of countless new jobs. Unfortunately, the Democrats are for all practical purposes benevolent dictators. They literally do want to run our lives. Those citizens earning their living in the private sector are to be turned into slaves.

  9. Today’s lede wingnutorial reminds me, Dr. Bones, of when the _señoritos_ (and a few of their daddies too, admittedly) set out to neoliberate Spain in July 1936. Those violence pros who did not side with their prototeabaggery instantly developed a strong tendency to be shot “for rebellion.” Not just _lucus a non lucendo_, but _LUX a non lucendo_, by golly!

Closer to home, Hoovervillain señoritos and daddies of the same period (allegedly) liked to call the President of the United States “a traitor to his Class.” [1]

Wombscholarship and downdumbin’ being what they are, I am really a little annoyed with myself, Dr. Bones, for not foreseeing that some Neocomrade Third Class M. Patterson would come down the pike eventually proposin’, as it were, to shoot poor President Summers and Secretary Geithner and Mr. O’Bama for ‘treason’ to a Class to which they have not the honour to belong. For manifestly it was “astounding dereliction of duty” and “deliberate neglect”–nay, sir, it was a far worse and darker thing than these!–that the accused did not convert to cocktail-napkin economics back when the convertin’ was good.[2]

    Healthy days.

[1] Before my time, the New Deal was, at least slightly, but anyone can infer from that soundbite that the Daughters of Virtue and Sons of Wisdom Inc. ( a.k.a. America’s Otherparty) [http://tinyurl.com/ygtchny] must have been at least a little less downdumbed in 1936 than in 2010. It had not yet become forbidden to speak of Class except in conjunction with educationalism. At least, not for the TopPercenters to speak of it when revilin’ Roosevelt, though if Harry Hopkins, say, was to ape his Betters, I betcha the Betters started screamin’ ‘Bolshevism!’ _pronto_.

There cannot be any serious question that a specimen bearin’ the label “National Review Institute Washington fellow” will possess perfect subjective sincerity that Class can have nothin’ at all to do with our holy Homeland™. (The useless cliché “middle-class” does not count, being a mere linguistic fossil in the cast majority of instances, though deliberate neomystification in a very few.)

[2] Such a señorito scribbles chiefly for Wally Wingnut and Cindy from Wasilla, so it is instructive that it feels no need to mention what duty it was that the the traitor fiends neglected to perform, let alone offer even the outline of a scenario of how the consequences of the Crawford Crash would have disappeared in a jiffy if only the Homelanders™ had preferred the wisdom of the Fabulous Flyboy from AZ and the virtue of Neocomrade Governess S. Heath-Paling of AK. In Party-’n’-Ideology circles, evidently, there is no need to talk about what everybody knows already, except maybe to annoy any decent political grown-ups in earshot.

This is probably a good thing for Wally and Cindy who (as I fear I must lowly suspect) would not do a very satisfactory recitation on the contents of Chicagonomics 101 if called upon unexpectedly. You may reach this result by an _a fortiori_ argument, sir, if you like: listen to Neocomrade Dr. R. Limbaugh when Himself is attemptin’ somethin’ like formal inculcation of the AEIdeology. It does not happen often, but it does happen, and I suppose you could work through the dossiers at _Media Matters_ [http://tinyurl.com/an8lr9] to dredge up some ‘rushonomics’.

Then reflect whether the dittobrained are at all likely to rise above their Source. Q.E.D.

In any case, you will already have perceived that I assume Don Matecito here holds that a stiff dose of Taxcuts for TopPercenters (®) will cure pretty near anythin’ that ails Lord Mammon, psoriasis and inadequate health insurance coverage not excluded.

(( To digress out of Foxcuckooland for a moment, if I may: those wingnutettes and wingnuts who do not abandon themselves to the Magic Affix altogether, a subclass traditionally associated with _National Review_, as it happens, might argue with some plausibility that the Taxcuts for TopPercenters (®) product really would have cleared up all the rubble of the Crawford Crash by now.

(( This claim, however, has the drawback of being mostly verbal: your true-blue Party palæocomrade conservatively begins with A. Pope and “Whatever is, is right.” Hence whatever state of health the economy was in after fourteen months of J. Sidney McCain and Mizz Sarah perpetratin’ “fiscal responsibility,” the Great Recession could, by Papal dispensation, be pronounced cured. Real-world statistics about unemployment and housing sales and the like would be nothin’ to the point: if the numbers were dismal, that would only establish that Lord Mammon indispensably needed a very severe purge if his lordship was ever to recover his natural æquilibrium at all.

(( Naturally the benefits of “Whatever is, is right” cannot be extended to Summers O’Bama Geithner Trotsky Krugman Mussolini Keynnes & Associates.: Father Zeus forbid! At this point, though, my amateur investigations at Hooverville and Wingnut City and Rio Limbaugh fail, unfortunately. I cannot claim to be any more than guessing when I suggest that “Whatever is, is right” ought to be understood as glossed “Whatever is [so by Nature], is right [deontologically]” — and, needless to say, Ms. Nature can have nothin’ at all to do with busy-body interferences from the Stalinislamophalangitarian Left!

(( This plan saves certain Party-’n’-AEIdeology appearances admirably, Dr. Bones, does it not? Yet whether many of the G.O.P. geniuses and rank-and-file Party base ’n’ vile actually think such thoughts consciously, I know not. Furthermore, no sooner is that is exegesis spelled out distinctly, than a MacLuhanite or comic-book shadow of it becomes available as well, “Whatever happens when the Otherparty is in control, is right.”

(( And the moral or idiot generalisation of *that* is “It is not what you DO that counts, it is who we ARE.”

The more cynical may even see deliberate neglect, as Americans in desperate financial situations may be more likely to acquiesce to an engorged and gorging government. After all, in a nation where employment is often tied to health insurance, a jobless man is a man at least open to a government alternative.

I cannot bring myself to believe that any president would manipulate the economy in such a manner for his own political purposes.

Such is the nuts and bolts of what Professors Cloward and Piven advanced as the strategy of forcing political change through orchestrated crisis.

It is time for us to realize that the liberals, lead by Obama, Pelosi and Reid, have deliberately lead this nation to the brink of bankruptcy. What else can explain the wanton acceptance of trillion dollar annual deficits for the next decade? What we are witnessing is malicious in its intent.

Obama’s mission was no surprise to those who felt no tingle going up their leg. Even a cursory review of his background revealed a very radical background, not that you would have heard it in the press. Ironically, the author is allied with National Review and some of the most revealing reporting on Obama was done by Stanley Kurtz.

Unfortunately, all we have to console ourselves with right now is “I told you so”.

  11. 11. More is on the way.

The healthcare mess ends no later than March 18th, 2010.
That is the do it or your will die deadline that Obama gave to Congress to pass it for his signature into law.

This because the American people are now desperate and/or because he will not risk another summer of extreme right-wing, terrorist tea bagging town hall attacks like those that happened last summer.

And he needs to freshen up for another trip of apologizing and bowing to Asia, which clears the way for the next item on his agenda; amnesty for illegal Hispanics. Obama needs their votes for his own reelection in 2012.

Once the illegal Hispanics have been given what they want, Obama can concentrate on creating and saving more jobs, reforming more of Wall Street’s financial institutions, smashing big oil into the dirt, passing his global warming legislation initiatives and recreating our economy by seizing control of more major companies and by increasing taxes on everyone.

    War? What war?

    Obama promised “Change” and “Hope”.

After 14 months in office no one on Earth can accuse him of not delivering on half of what he promised: Change!

    Live with it suckers!

  12. 12. Old Soldier

I think it’s just as well that he’s distracted by healthcare (assuming it doesn’t pass). When Obama turns his attention to these other issues, his solutions will be expensive and destructive. I can summarize his strategy here:

    Unemployment – Spend More.
Economy – Cap & Tax, watch it crash.
Fiscal Crisis – Tax more, spend more, borrow more, pretend that is a solution.
War – restrict our rules of engagement until our soldiers and Marines are nothing expect walking targets, then surrender.

Please, keep him occupied with healthcare!

  13. 13. Steve DeMarcus

One thing for certain he will not be a mediocre one term president but instead an awful one term president! He might not make the full term as more call for impeachment! We will see what happens after the November races won’t we?

Your dinner consists of soup, salad, steak, rice, dessert and drink. Do they bring you everything at the table or do they bring you one at a time?

Health care legislation was determined to be the soup in the menu.

If Republicans hadn’t sabotaged the passage of legislation and if they had actually used their brains with good ideas, we would be into the next course.

If the cooks don’t help the Chef, what do you expect?

  15. 15. Brian N

I really do not understand how this author can sit and write this tripe with a good conscious. As I recall the economy did better last month than it had since 2007. Not only that but there was a jobs bill passed this last month. A water down version on the house bill thanks to republican obstruction. Just because obama is not talking about Afghanistan does not mean he is ignoring it. Correct me if I am wrong but he has been using predator drones to take out targets on a much higher scale than Bush who %^%*ing completely ignored Afghanastan after invading. Also, can you say surge, I am pretty sure Obama ordered that a few months ago. I know that he is pushing hard for sanctions in Iran Where were you people when the last guy was sucking this country down the toilet

  16. 16. DanW

He is against the concept of ‘profit.’ He equates profit with greed rather than with self-interest. He does not understand that everyone works in their own self-interest and is motivated by profit.

He also does not understand that businesses must profit to create jobs. All of his proposals reduce profit and so will not create jobs in the private sector.

For a long time I thought that the Obama administration was either incompetent or trying to destroy jobs on purpose. Now I realize that they are just incompetent intellectuals who have never had real life experience outside of gravy train government employment.

  17. 17. Fred Beloit

“I cannot bring myself to believe that any president would manipulate the economy in such a manner for his own political purposes.”

I can’t either. The President has no such power. It takes an entire political party to ruin this nation’s economy. We can change a large portion of this enemy majority starting this year.

  18. 18. Joe

I think that if we, the people, don’t get some new folks elected in the upcoming election who will stand with the country and not with the political hack we have for a president, we will be in dire trouble. And for those people who haven’t gotten Obama figured out yet, forget them, there is no hope. What is truly disturbing is that more and more, it is becoming evident that unless it impacts “his presidency”, the man doesn’t seem interested. Leader of men? I don’t think so.

Fiscal collapse is the point after all…

Why do we continue to dance around the truth? This man, Obama, is a Marxist! We want to keep denying what is before us. Because it does not have all 100 tenets but only 99 of Socialism or Communism, we just don’t want to Label. Meanwhile he continues to rob us of our freedom, and institute some form of Marxist government. This is a takeover from the top while we sleep, and try to be politically correct. We better get honest and load. We better start to fight or the government will own us. We will belong to the government, not the government belonging to us. We have the power , and we did not give this man that power…

    WAKE UP!!!

If you examine leftism, you will see the center-left, the liberal left, the radical left, until you eventually fall down a rabbit hole known as the deranged left. This is where our president resides, along with people like Bill Ayers and Reverend Jeremiah Wright. You have entered a twilight zone of bizarre ideologies and pathological hatreds. But it doesn’t end there.

You should consider that the creatures who inhabit this world revel in aberrant behaviours and unsavory personal habits. So far, only a few obscure bloggers have penetrated this dark and sordid universe. Like the president’s narcissistic personality disorder which was exposed a year ago, it takes time before the truth is recognized. Assuming the president has rational reasons for his actions misses completely the pathologies that drive the man.

The stress of maintaining a public facade is wearing on Mr. Obama. I think he’s going to crack, and soon. The MSM will cover for him. It might take years before the full extent of the truth is known. Not unlike the truth behind the dysfunctional Kennedy clan or Michael Jackson. But when the truth finally does come out, it’s likely to be a dark and sordid story.

  22. 22. Sandra

I can’t understand why the President and his band of merry Marxists are so hellbent to push socialized medicine on the American people, even though they are overwhelmingly against it. Meanwhile, they slough off the unemployment rates, the raging deficit spending and our valiant military members dying in Afghanistan (oh, yeah, that’s right – there’s a war going on. But we’ve got bigger fish to fry, so stop talking to us). I really believe it’s an issue of control. When they gain this, they won’t stop. Next mission: the takeover of private 401K retirement accounts of the American people.Government would be a better steward of your money than you could eve be. And it could be more fairly distributed to those who haven’t saved. Watch and see.

  23. 23. justasimplepatriot

An effective executive has his or her fingers on the pulse of today but their eyes and mind on the challenges their company will face 3-5 years down the road. Their daily challenge is to avoid being drawn into the “tyranny of the immediate.”

Obama is a child. He has never been battered by true accountability. His cool detachment and dispassionate rhetoric are either 1.) The conviction that everyone else is to blame a.k.a. Denial at a pathological level or 2.) The well-honed skill of lying to escape accountability.

The true damage of this incompetent President will be measured not so much by what he does but by what he does not do. The inattention to matters of strategic importance internally and externally will act as incredible head winds against true recovery.

  24. 24. goy

    - Naturally, such dismal statistics got fair media play as 2009 wound to a close.

I guess the definition of fair must vary from one latitude to the next.

I don’t recall any fair discussion in the media covering the ridiculous and completely discredited predictions made by BHO and his incompetent economics advisers in support of the deficit-exploding Spendulu$. To the media, it’s as if justification for the Spendulu$ never happened. Had the “Bush” tax cuts resulted in miscalculations that enormous, and debt that devastating, the facts would have been front page news on every Left Wing Media rag in the nation for six months. Likewise, the casualties we’re now seeing in Afghanistan would be sharing those headlines just like the Daily Body Counts and “grim milestones” we saw every day of the week back in late 2003, 2004, etc.

I also don’t recall the media pointing out the fact that the unemployment figures reported publicly DO NOT include the folks you mentioned (accidental part-timers, early retirees, generally disgusted), PLUS those still looking for work but whose unemployment benefits have finally run out. That total number has been closer to 20% for some time now. These are Depression-era figures that the media DARE not address for fear of soiling Captain Wonderful’s polyester cape.

The word “fair” can not be found in The Left Wing Media’s dictionary.

    - …sadly, our chief executive has job security until at least 2012.

That’s not strictly true, which points to what’s MISSING from this YAWNICOO* article, the likes of which seem to pervade this site and way too many others.

What’s missing here is what to do about it. By all indications, November is going to bring a sea change to Congress, at least with respect to political party. The People know this and the Democrats know this. Two things need to happen between now and then.

First, those Republicans who intend to displace the career criminals in Congress need to be instructed in no uncertain terms that the People will NOT tolerate another “compassionate conservative” experiment that pushes us further toward Socialism, albeit more slowly, like we saw during 2001-2006. We need a 1997 Republican-Congress-On-Steroids to get this economy moving again: if necessary, REPEAL ANY socialized medicine legislation rammed through by P-O-R, cut taxes, slash entitlement spending, privatize Medicare, ratchet back Homeland Security and redirect it to controlling illegal immigration, subsidize health care self-insurance (and start taxing cost-ratcheting comprehensive, group insurance), dissolve the GSEs. Put the economy of this Republic back in the hands of the Market and the People and take it OUT of the hands of government bureaucracy.

Second, those Democrats who are temporarily “safe” need to know that the PEOPLE know that the actions taken by this administration and the so-called Democrat “leadership” have been WAY over the line in terms of abuse of their Constitutional authority. Impeachable? Maybe not, but I stress maybe. Either way, they need to understand that continued support of this marxist cipher and his fascist agenda will lead to their expulsion from Congress – one way or the other, preferably the other, setting legal precedents, so that no one gets the idea they can just wait a few years for public sentiment to swing back to the left again.

BHO is a tool. Utterly lacking in required experience. Risen far beyond his level of incompetence. Derelict in his duties (as if he ever had a clue what those were). Yeah, we get all that already! Finding new and exciting ways to whine about it day after day after day will have the same effect it did when the Romans whined about Nero (great referent he – the quintessential narcissist). Had their TEA Party’s tax revolt begun sooner, history might have been very different indeed. Let’s not REPEAT their mistake.

    * Yet Another Whiny, Naive, Impotent Criticism Of Obama

As long as Obama is employed, many of the rest of us will be unemployed, or enslaved by his overt and otherwise underhanded redistribution of our hard earned wages.

Obama is on a mission from Marx and the people be damned. Next will be the attempted takeover of 401k and other retirement accounts. Notice how the liberals are scrambling to rebrand themselves as “progressives” ? Talk about lipstick on a pig. When will enough people wake up to the Obama scam to stop him in his tracks by voting out his leftist lockstep crew at the ballot box ?

We as a country would have a better and more representative government if offices were filled thru a national lottery. Next best thing is to vote out ALL incumbents. WAKE UP.

To More is on the Way @11:

People forget – but I don’t, it nags me at the back of my mind all the time – that one major thing Obama wanted (and Michelle) is these sort of, well, “troops.”

On his campaign web site there was much talk of enlisting the youth, and the old as well, into mandatory volunteer troops (for the young), and non-mandatory ones for the old (with promise of better health care, instead, for those who participate).

He and Michelle (along with Rahm) apparently really do believe that it is important to force people to be good little troopers for the cause of their country.

This whole thing has taken a very back seat to all the other things they want, but I doubt it has been taken off the agenda.

I hope they never get around to it.

And I am really getting tired of the leftist idiots who get all excited over Obama’s half-assed pretend commitment to Afghanistan. If he was serious he would have given McChrystal the troops he needs, not *fewer than half* of them.

    Vivo,
If the Chef doesn’t let the cooks into the kitchen in the first place, how do you expect them to help make the soup?

The reality – which the Dems and the MSM conveniently don’t tell their constituents – is that the Republicans HAVE a bill. They’ve had it from the beginning of this whole charade. Obama ADMITTED that he had read it at the Republican meeting that he attended.

The Republicans asked to be included in the drafting of the current healthcare bill. Not only were they rebuffed, a GUARD was posted at the door of the room where the bill was written so that they couldn’t enter.

I agree with some of the other posters – if you were at a restaurant and there was only one soup offered, and you didn’t want it, how would you feel about being forced to eat it?

  36. 36. Paul S

You’re kidding right. You start off your stats with misleading information so I purposely felt that I shouldn’t waste my time of intelligence on the rest of your article. The majority of the unemployment rate was in FACT an inherited negative ‘rate’, of unemployment from the previous administration. The quantity of unemployed has hit record numbers yes, but the ‘rate’ of unemployed has in FACT decreased with new legislation. Visually the rate is not stopping but is rather skidding towards a better direction, where if it were left to the INdecision makers, and no measures taken at all, it would have continued to curve to the negative. Please, as a journalist be considerate enough not to test the intelligence of your readers, provide them with less finger pointing partisan smokescreens, try to provide solutions, and at least provide them the FACTS.

  37. 37. David

    Mr. Patterson,
You really don’t believe that a president would manipulate the economy? Try FDR. There is sound evidence that he intentionally manipulated the conditions of the Great Depression to his and his parites own gain. The Depression was a world wide slump, yet all countries but the US had recovered within a few years. Even Germany recovered and it was devistated by WWI. Obama is following in FDR’s foot steps. The purpose is obviously to create a fundamental change in our government just as FDR did.

  38. 38. goy

@36. Paul S: – The majority of the unemployment rate was in FACT an inherited negative ‘rate’, of unemployment from the previous administration.

Nice try. Go back to dKos.

Congress legislates policy that drives the economy.

Throughout the years of Republican majority in Congress – 1996 through 2006 – the unemployment rate averaged about 5.3%.

It wasn’t until a year AFTER the current crop of career criminal Democrats took the Congressional majority that unemployment began to climb to its current rate. And there is nothing in the Democrats’ agenda that can reasonably be expected to change that trend.

The rate of job losses – which you ignorantly label “the ‘rate’ of the unemployed” – is a completely bogus metric, invented by the O-bots to lie about the economy, which is NOT improving. If EVERYONE lost their job tomorrow, the rate of job losses would drop to ZERO the very next day, after which BHO would claim “victory” in ending job losses.

    #33 you are correct.

We allowed this to happen, we weren’t seeking the truth, we let it get out of control, and we tolerated too much spending, too many taxes, and too much corruption. We have been lax and under educated in areas that made us vulnerable to attack by the socialist Marxist communist agenda.
This we have to change. We have to learn, do and become; responsible citizens once again.

deguello: I saw it on fox news yesterday, take it up with them. I am pretty sure it was pure financial figures. There are other factors besides unemployment that are taken into account when deciding the health of an economy. Employment tends to drag behind the economy because even if consumption goes up businesses wait to hire until they have seen steady numbers for a few months. Name calling does not change the facts.

    OBAMA: DEBT UNSUSTAINABLE

Obama Says U.S. Long-Term Debt Load ‘Unsustainable’
By Roger Runningen and Hans Nichols

May 14 (Bloomberg) — President Barack Obama, calling current deficit spending “unsustainable,” warned of skyrocketing interest rates for consumers if the U.S. continues to finance government by borrowing from other countries.

“We can’t keep on just borrowing from China,” Obama said at a town-hall meeting in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, outside Albuquerque. “We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children’s future with more and more debt.”

Holders of U.S. debt will eventually “get tired” of buying it, causing interest rates on everything from auto loans to home mortgages to increase, Obama said. “It will have a dampening effect on our economy.”…

goy? Ignorant as you say or not, you should try understanding the basics of economics where the ‘physics’ of the events that we are describing are in fact a rate (the quote of which you misquoted and obviously misunderstood). This is not a concept invented as you say by the O’bots and in fact, I did not try to pose a quote from any source but my own. Both your attempt at a response and a sense of political humor is predictable from where you obviously stand politically. I stand on the outside looking in objectively, not from one side or the other. I prefer to deal with FACTS which are not partsan concepts. To make the statement that one person or even one party has that kind of control to force double digit unemployment within the short time this administration has held, is quite possibly the most ignorant rant of all….and worse yet, uneducated.

Organized CRIME: The ‘looting’ of $11 TRILLION from the U.S. economy

    March 5, 2010
The following is based on a report by Cliff Kincaid for Accuracy in Media.

Zubi Diamond, author of the powerful new book, Wizards of Wall Street, says the agenda of Soros and other short sellers is clear. Their purpose, he says, is “to loot America and any foreign country which invested in America. Greece was one of them. Iceland was ravaged and annihilated.”

“The most influential members of Managed Funds Association, the hedge fund short sellers, have an anti-capitalism agenda, an anti-industrialized nation agenda, and a far left liberal, Marxist radical agenda,” …“George Soros put the support of the organization [the MFA] behind Obama,

“They feel invincible. They have a license to destroy any company or country or hold the company or country hostage while preying on the investors. They are having dinner meetings, openly discussing collusion to attack a particular asset class, equity, or a country’s currency. If this is not organized crime, I do not know what is.”

…“The Managed Fund Association is the government,” Diamond charges. “They bought the policy makers and regulators, and then took over our government.”

America’s future? In BRITAIN, a desperate HOSPITAL patient rang the POLICE to BEG for WATER.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk
Neglected by ‘lazy’ nurses, man, 22, dying of thirst rang the police to beg for water

    By Emily Andrews
    06th March 2010

A man of 22 died in agony of dehydration after three days in a leading teaching hospital.
Kane Gorny was so desperate for a drink that he rang police to beg for their help.
They arrived on the ward only to be told by doctors that everything was under control.

The next day his mother Rita Cronin found him delirious and he died within hours.

She said nurses had failed to give him vital drugs which controlled fluid levels in his body. ‘He was totally dependent on the nurses to help him and they totally betrayed him.’

Mr Gorny had been a keen footballer and runner until he was diagnosed with a brain tumour the year before his death. The medication he took caused his bones to weaken and he was admitted to St George’s for a hip replacement in May last year. The operation left him immobile and unable to get out of bed.

She said that two days after his hip operation, while Miss Cronin was at work, he became severely dehydrated but his requests for water were refused. He became aggressive and nurses called in security guards to restrain him.

After they had left, he rang the police from his bed to demand their help.

Miss Cronin, who is divorced from her son’s father Peter, said: ‘The police told me he’d said, “Please help me. All I want is a drink and no one is helping me”.

The next morning she visited him before going to work. ‘He was delirious and his mouth was open,’ she said. ‘I gave him a drink of Ribena. ‘I told three nurses there was something wrong with my son and they said, “He’s fine” and walked off. I started to cry and a locum doctor who was there told me not to worry.

‘Eventually the ward doctor came round, took one look at Kane and started shouting for help.’

Miss Cronin was asked to leave her son’s bedside. ‘He died an hour later,’ she said. ‘I didn’t even realise he was dying. I didn’t even have a chance to say goodbye.’

  53. Matt, love your piece. You write with such style and flair, not to mention a amazing ability to string great thoughts together like a necklace of wisdom-filled pearls. While you danced around the idea that President Obama has a bit of a delusional streak, I, personally, think his mental, (shall I call them, quirks) amount to a large part of the reason why he seems to do the opposite of what most Americans deem both wholly appropriate and necessary for the good of the country. Whatever, the deep, dark psychological drive to fail; to be unanimously considered the worst President in the history of the United States, I am convinced there’s something very sinister about him; something very wrong with him.

When I talk to my Dad about everything from ObamaCare to his world wide Apology Tour, my Dad will look at me, smile his smile and ask: What in the world has that young fella been smoking?

Of course, while a reefer or two doesn’t put you on the road to madness, by the same token, Obama’s inability to follow doctor’s orders and drink less, while stopping smoking altogether are troubling. Although these inabilities, I’ll stipulate, should not compel Presidential cabinet members to make a mad dash for the Constitution’s 25th amendment, for the good of the country, they can’t be ignored.

However, since it appears that the members of Congress seem to have difficulty taking action without being offered a carrot the size of the Louisiana purchase or the 100 million dollar Cornhusker kickback, the people appear to be faced with a national conundrum; what to do if we agree that the Presidential Marlboro Man, (aka Mr. roll em’ if you got em’) is smack dab in the center of the swirling question: Is President Obama delusionally disordered?. Or the owner of some other disabling condition.

At the same time, I can hear people saying that everything he does, he does with undeniable, clear-minded intention, the single minded determination of a lion stalking his prey. They would say about Obama that having a deep unshakable belief in the Saul Alinsky, “Rules for Radicals” playbook accounts for every untruth uttered; every promise broken; every anti-American-valueless move made. Maybe that’s true. Matter of fact, lil’ ol’ blond haired blued Rachel has been a party to that line of thinking for the past two or so years. Heavens to Betsey, I knew he was the most left voting member of the Senate. I knew he palled around with Rashid Khalidi, an Israeli-hating former member of the PLO. I knew he palled around with Bill Ayers who, at a point in time, would have bombed America into oblivion if he could have. I’m aware, like everyone else, that Obama pewed with Mr. Hate Speak, himself, the Rev. Jeremy (9/11 was a glorious day) for more than twenty hate-filled years. I knew all that and still thought Obama didn’t markedly deviate from the standard deviation of normal mental Chicagoian chicanery.

As of a week ago, though, I think we were wrong. I look at Obama differently. I fear he’s gone off the deep end. Jumped the shark. Lost his grip on reality. To my way of thinking, the guy who since being elected President has done the opposite of what he should have done; plus the opposite of someone who took an oath to “faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and to the best of my ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States” is now borderline certifiable. He’s turned out, in just 13 plus months to be the worst President in United States history. Not arguably to be. To be. But I’m seriously thinking a big part of the problem is that President Obama is disordered and delusional. Sick.

A quick look at the rise before the pall. Were there tell tail signs that we all missed?

During the Presidential campaign against McCain, Obama made some statements that, while many believed, some suspected came under the category of campaign rhetoric. End earmarks. Put healthcare negotiations on CNN. Do away with America’s nuclear arsenal. Be the post-racial President. Fundamentally transform America. Be transparent. Listen to the American people. Those were the ingredients with which Barack Obama made speeches. Women fainted in his very presence. Anchor men got tingles up their legs. Then Obama was elected and elected to go back on his word, time after time. Not just his supporters became increasingly unsettled. His opponents were amazed that a brown eyed handsome man with sky high approval ratings could fall so far so fast. Obama started losing trust with the suddenness that some men start losing their hair. But not the concern. People like Nancy Pelosi tried to white wash the whole thing. For example, when asked why the President signed bills with thousands of earmarks, she’d say, “during a campaign, a lot of things are said.” Okay, so Obama’s end to earmarks statement was campaign rhetoric. Were we to assume that the same was true of, say, the statements about broadcasting healthcare negotiations on CNN? Was he just making things up willy nilly? If so, why? Barack knew that George senior’s “read my lips” sunk George. Why would Barack set a trap for himself? It doesn’t make sense.

In particular, though, the statements about Obama’s desire for nuclear disarmament, once sounding a tad naive, in retrospect, are the breadcrumbs leading to an inescapable conclusion: that Obama is daft. What good is a socialist America in the image and likeness of Obama/Alinsky if half its people are vaporized in a first strike? Surely, Obama wouldn’t unilaterally dismantle our nuclear capability. “Like, man, he’s not crazy,” I can hear any discerning California Democratic surfer guy or girl say.

Obama may be a little extreme left, but his elevator still stops at all the floors, or so I used to think. In hindsight, should I have detected a bit of unsoundness of mind when Obama unilaterally threw Turkey and the Czech Republic under the Russian bus, surrendering to blowhard, bully boy demands and reneging on the promise to install, for them, missile defense systems? While hindsight is 20/20, maybe I should have caught wind of the coming mental storm clouds.

Now, though, I’m giving our President’s sanity a bit more thought. For the other crazy shoe just dropped. Obama pipes up with a nutty statement about meeting with Robert Gates to discuss destroying half our nuclear arsenal. On its face maybe it doesn’t sound too threatening, (how many times can you kill your enemy?), but the psychological effect on Iran, North Korea, Russia, China and assorted nut job terrorists around the world shouldn’t be underestimated. What weak loons they must think we are to unilaterally ash can half our nuclear weapons? Plus, consider how close our potential enemies are from their own missile defense shield. I have a feeling secret-guarding isn’t high on Obama’s list of priorities.

Look, I could recite chapter and verse Barack’s list of intolerable acts. But in the interest of time, I won’t. Suffice to say, it grows longer as Obama, once again, blithely, goes against the wishes of the American people to keep our country Army Strong. Instead of maintaining a full arsenal of military deterrents, Obama apparently wants to transform the United States into a nuclear free zone. Which is not to be confused with a nuclear safe zone. To Rachel, this is almost like touching the third rail of a second avenue New York subway train. On purpose. Is he touched? Better question, what’s going on in ObamaHead? Sheer lunacy? Has President Barack Obama lost his marrididdles, cat’s eyes, and taws?

In wartime, there was never a sounder mind than General George Patton. Here’s what General Patton believed (not a direct quote). “Disarmament is the sure road to health, happiness, and peace; and that by removing the fire department, we will remove fires. The desire for disarmament springs eternal in the eternally naive. From wishful thinking and from the erroneous belief that wars result from logical processes. There is no logic in wars. They are produced by madmen much like disarmament is promulgated by men who are in the mentally sense, mad. No man can say when future madmen will reappear. I do not say that there will be no more wars; I devoutly hope that there will not, but I do say that the chances of avoiding future wars will be greatly enhanced if we are ready.”

My one final question echoes Patton’s call for readiness. But it is about you and me. Are we ready to admit that there is something very wrong with Obama?

@50. Paul S: – … the events that we are describing are in fact a rate …

Not as you labeled them, which indicates you haven’t a clue what you’re talking about and are merely parroting the OFA / Pelosi line. The “‘rate’ of the unemployed” is, in fact, the unemployment rate. The rate of job losses is a completely different metric.

    - I stand on the outside looking in objectively, not from one side or the other.

Baloney. You’re either lying outright or you desperately need some Macroeconomics and Civics courses. The economy continues to worsen. As such, no objective observer with the slightest understanding of the employment situation would look at the “decrease” in the rate of job losses as anything other than an indication that the economy is simply running out of jobs to lose. Further job losses will involve a radical economic downturn and everyone – everyone, that is, except for the marxists who want to “transform” America – has a vested interest in NOT seeing that happen, which is why the rate is slowing.

    - To make the statement that one person or even one party has that kind of control to force double digit unemployment within the short time this administration has held, is quite possibly the most ignorant rant of all….and worse yet, uneducated.

You’re IGNORING the facts. The Democrat party has had the majority in Congress – meaning that their fiscal policies have thus tortured the economy – for over three years now. By comparison, the economy improved almost immediately after the “Bush” tax cuts were implemented in 2003. So not only does your assertion not APPLY here, but it’s bunk as well.

Your problem is that you’re myopically focused on Obama / the administration, just as The Left Wing Media and the Democrats have instructed you to do. But the fact is that BHO and his administration do not define the nation’s economic policy. Congress does that through tax legislation, federal spending and other legislation that effectively regulates the economy. We’ve had over three years Democrat fiscal policy and the effects are undeniable: a deficit exploded BY A FACTOR OF TEN TIMES and a DOUBLING of unemployment. Deal with it.

    53. The nuclear draw down is not unilateral; it is a mutual agreement with Russia. As it is, it makes no sense for both of our nations to have so many nuclear weapons pointed at each other; especially land based silos that would take time to retarget; time that we would not likely have during a nuclear war. If we have no reason to ever use these weapons on Russia, for indeed our deterrent is still strong without these weapons slated for decommissioning, why would we want to keep them around?

Up to 1,200 needless deaths, patients abused, staff bullied to meet targets… yet a secret inquiry into failing hospital says no one’s to blame

By Fay Schlesinger, Andy Dolan and Tim Shipman
    25th February 2010

Up to 1,200 patients died unnecessarily because of appalling care
Labour’s obsession with targets and box ticking blamed for scandal
Patients were ‘routinely neglected’ at hospital
Report calls for FOURTH investigation into scandal

Not a single official has been disciplined over the worst-ever NHS hospital scandal, it emerged last night.

Up to 1,200 people lost their lives needlessly because Mid-Staffordshire NHS Trust put government targets and cost-cutting ahead of patient care. But none of the doctors, nurses and managers who failed them has suffered any formal sanction.

The independent inquiry headed by Robert Francis QC found the safety of sick and dying patients was ‘routinely neglected’. Others were subjected to ‘ inhumane treatment’, ‘bullying’, ‘abuse’ and ‘rudeness’.

    The inquiry found that:

    • Patients were left unwashed in their own filth for up to a month as nurses ignored their requests to use the toilet or change their sheets;

    • Four members of one family. including a new-born baby girl. died within 18 months after blunders at the hospital;

    • Medics discharged patients hastily out of fear they risked being sacked for delaying;

    • Wards were left filthy with blood, discarded needles and used dressings while bullying managers made whistleblowers too frightened to come forward.

The Francis report said staff numbers were allowed to fall ‘dangerously low’, causing nurses to neglect the most basic care. It said: ‘Requests for assistance to use a bedpan or to get to and from the toilet were not responded to.

‘Some families were left to take soiled sheets home to wash or to change beds when this should have been undertaken by the hospital and its staff.’ Food and drink were left out of reach, forcing patients to drink water from flower vases.

Kelsey Lintern was at the centre of one of the worst tragedies in the hospital’s appalling catalogue of failure. She lost four members of her family within 18 months, her grandmother, uncle, sister and six-day-old baby.

That summer, her grandmother Lilian Wood Latta, 80, died hungry and dehydrated after suffering a stroke. She was left in her own excrement during her final days and the family said the dehydration was caused by staff failing to give her adequate fluids.

James Reay died in agony after a junior doctor at Stafford Hospital failed to check his medical history and gave him the wrong drug…he was rushed to another hospital where he died from internal bleeding after three weeks of intense pain.

He also cares about that more than he does about actually doing his job — which should be focusing on jobs and other things that the American people care about. But he has never ever governed in his life, he has never actually done any “real work” in his life (campaigning and talking excepted). So why should he start now?
