Obama Throws Israel to the Wolves
Another indication that the jihad against Israel will flare up again soon enough came from the imprisoned Saudi Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Fahd, who praised the jihad bombings in Riyadh in 2003 and was jailed shortly thereafter. In a fatwa posted last week on a jihadi website, al-Fahd declared, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute, that “the Jews are the leaders of the infidels and the greatest enemies of Islam and the Muslims in the present age,” and that therefore Muslims who waged jihad warfare against Jews everywhere would be discharging “one of the most important duties and greatest virtues.” Al-Fahd added that “any guarantees of protection granted them by tyrannical and infidel governments are meaningless, especially when the Jews are attacking Muslims as they please.”
Al-Fahd may be in prison, but his view of the jihad against Israel as a religious obligation incumbent on every Muslim is not by any means restricted to him alone. So many Muslims worldwide share it that even in far-off Indonesia, a Muslim group last week began offering “jihad registration forms” to those believers who wished to wage jihad against Israel.
Muslim Brotherhood leader Muhammad Badie, meanwhile, reminded the world that “jihad is obligatory” for Muslims, and dubbed truces with Israel a “game of grand deception.”
All that may be an elaborate exercise in false bravado and self-delusion. It may be that the ceasefire is not the victory for the forces of jihad that those forces are claiming. But the signals are unmistakable: over the past year Israel wrote no fewer than twenty messages to the United Nations, asking for support in defending itself against rocket attacks from Gaza. The UN didn’t acknowledge any of those letters, but was stirred into action almost immediately when Israel began to defend itself – not to declare support for the Israeli defensive actions against the relentless rocket attacks, but to compel Israel to stop.
And after just eight days, they succeeded, courtesy of Barack Obama. When Israel’s defensive actions began, Obama declared clearly his support for the Jewish state’s right to defend itself, but now he has made another declaration – one that is just as clear, albeit tacit: that when Israel does defend itself, he will move heaven and earth to stop it from doing so, before the damage to the jihad war machine gets too extensive.
The jihadis got the message loud and clear.

And the above commentary was written on the eve of the election. But our concerns go way back, starting with the Islamist-in-Chief’s apology tour in Cairo (2009), as he placed the Muslim Brotherhood Mafia front and center at his speech, Mubarak nowhere to be found. While Mubarak was a strong-arm dictator, he kept the Islamists at bay, as well as aligned (to an acceptable degree) with the west. This is a fact. Alas, the POTUS dictated – GO NOW!

Israel is not just the weak puppet you imagine Robert Spencer. The war ended when Netahyahu and the cabinet decided that the objectives had been met. They did not set out to destroy Hamas or end the conflict. The goal was to restore deterrence and improve the lives of Israelis living under the missile threat for as long as possible. That has been achieved for the time being.
If you are paying any attention to the ridiculous ravings coming out of the mouths of the Iranians and Islamists you are as big a fool as they are. Hamas got their butts handed to them. The only reason they keep firing missiles is because the Gazans dont know that 99% of them don’t hit anything or are intercepted. The missiles are now more for dometic show than any strategic reason.
Israel was able to achieve what it wanted at minimal cost and with no concessions to Hamas. The war is not over it is just in another phase. Hamas will restock and rebuild and Israel will make new target lists and Iron Domes. Clinton did not do anything that the Israeli government did not want her to do.

Robert – I think actually, both sides are right. Hamas had ‘their butt kicked’, but Bibi caved in from going to phase 2 and totally dismantling Hamas in Gaza.
If Israel were to actually go in and wipe out Hamas, the rest of the Arab world would take that opportunity to try once again to wipe out Israel and the rest of the world would likely stand back and watch or applaud.

“Hudna” is Arabic for a truce with non-Muslims by Muslims. They are supposed to be for a maximum of ten years and can be broken at any time by the Muslim entity that agreed to the hudna. Conversely, the non-Muslim entity is expected to strictly observer all terms of the truce.
Muslims generally use hudnas as a way to avoid defeat by superior non-Muslim powers and buy time to change the military balance versus the non-Muslims. When the military balance shifts in their favor, the Muslims will either find a pretext for breaking the hudna or simply say “never mind” and go back to war with the non-Muslim group.
The first example of this is a hudna between the Prophet Mohammed and one of the Jewish tribes in pre-Islamic Arabia. (Not sure of exact name of the tribe — Kwharish? Quraysh?) The early Muslims had just moved to Medina and were losing a fight with the Jewish tribe. Muhammed agreed to a truce with the Jewish tribe that included a commitment to return any women or servants that ran away to Medina to become Muslims. Within a year, Muhammed had strengthened his military position and broke the hudna by refusing to return some women who joined the Muslims.

If in an agreement, one side can nudge, nudge, wink, wink when they make a “commitment,” because they know that the commitment is one-sided and means nothing, then there is no agreement, the “truce” is non-existent.

I really don’t get how any Western politician or diplomat can continue the charade that entering into negotiations with jihadist regimes can advance “peace” in the Middle East. We’re committing suicide — and we’re throwing Israel to the dogs before our suicide takes place.

Next round for Israel will be against Hezbollah, which is a significantly better armed and better disciplined organization than Hamas. And of course Hezbollah is armed by Iran. So while the Israelis go toe to toe against Hezbollah and incur significant losses of men and material Iran will standby unhurt. There is really nothing for it from Israel’s SURVIVAL perspective but to go after Iran. And given the speed at which Iran is approaching nuclear capability the sooner the better. Yes, it is a terrible disadvantage that the United States is no longer an ally and in fact borders on being an enemy under Hussein. But the fact has to be faced and will be faced that Israel must administer a tremendous blow to Iran or not survive itself.
The bottom line for Israel is what the U.S. should have been doing since WWII. either fight to win to the point that the other side no longer wants to fight, or don’t fight at all.
When we defeated Japan, Italy and Germany in the 1940′s they surrendered unconditionally. And then we helped them build 3 very strong economic powers. When we defeated North Korea, oh wait, we agreed to a truce that is still in place, in other words, that war isn’t over. When we negotiated peace with the North Vietnamese, we left the south to it’s own, and watched as it was defeated. We could have done that 10 years earlier with a lot less death and treasury gone.
We fought Sadaam Hussein to the point of getting him out of Kuwait and then we stopped. And then we went back later to finish. Then we let the terrorists base the new constitution on sharia. Now they are back to killing each other.
Had we fought WWII the same way, we would have let Hitler live after we liberated France. And Germany would still be lobbing rockets into France and Belgium.
Israel, you must fight to completely destroy Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran, or surrender and find some place else to live.

I don’t know that Obama intended to throw Israel to the wolves. American foreign policy sometimes places a huge premium on “stability.” Perhaps especially now, in the Middle East, the value of “stability” looms large. Israel itself may have felt it strategically reasonable to enter a truce. Even if Israel had invaded and destroyed Hamas, that organization, or a similar one, would just reconstitute itself fairly quickly (perhaps), and perhaps be even more vicious (if that were possible). It’s not as if Hamas is some anomalous force in Gaza. Hamas and its insane attitudes are within the mainstream of Gazan attitudes, so another similar leadership would soon arise in Hamas’ place. Furthermore, an Israeli invasion would have mobilized the whole Islamic world even more than that world already is mobilized to destroy Israel. Also, Israel’s leadership may believe Israel has much bigger fish to fry than Hamas. Israel has to consider the whole Middle East, and above all Iran. Gazans are of course doing the Baghdad Bob routine, acting as though a huge loss was a victory, and talking like Saddam “mother of all battles” Hussein. But Israel kicked butt, did they not? A few Israelis were killed, while something like 100+ Hamas were killed. True?

When Obama made the so-called gaffe about visiting “all 57 states” it was no gaffe. He was referring to the 56 members of the OiS (Organization of Islamic States) plus the addition which will occur with his assistance, Palestine. I do hope more Americans will soon start to see that this man is and has always been aligned with terrorists. He will turn on us quickly and viciously, just as he did Israel, now that he has more leeway.

I never bought into the notion that Obama was a Muslim himself (because that would require too much discipline and self-denial), but he favors Islam simply because most likely his happiest years were spent in Indonesia with a Muslim stepfather who paid attention to him. He refuses to look at today’s militant Islamic jihadism straight on, because that would jeopardize the romanticized notion he has of the Third world in general, and Islam in particular.
The other part of the equation is that Obama is so steeped in Chicago political corruption he cannot conceive of politics conducted any other way. As such, he is vulnerable to the ruthless manipulation of others with their own agenda.
I don’t think those two viewpoints are mutually exclusive.

His romance with the East has little to do with Islam, except insofar as he sees it as the most effective weapon available today against the West. He is infatuated with a schoolboy vision of a mystical, enlightened East that has more to do with the Persian Empire of Darius and Xerxes than it does with the Prophet Mohammed. Although I suspect he does recognize that modern-day Islam is little more than that Persian Empire, shorn of its polytheistic trappings and with a single prophet taking the place of a “god-king”.

He hates the West, not just for “colonialism” vs. Africa and points east of Suez, but also for having completely upset the traditional paradigm of privileged nobility and obedient peasants. This is a common aberration of supposedly “egalitarian” progressives, but he has one of the worst cases since the Kennedys. Simply put, he does not believe in democracy, technological society, or indeed anything developed much after the Battle of Salamis (480 BC). And like Plato (who I suspect is one of his role models) he thinks the wrong side won that one.
Plato (423-347 BC) spent most of his life decrying the fact that the Persians lost at Salamis and Plataea (479 BC), because the Greek concept of demokritos was anathema to him, as a “superior intellect” who he believed had an innate right to rule- sound familiar? Of course, he was safe to do so, as he was writing nearly a century after the fact; it’s rather like a modern-day devotee of Otto von Bismarck’s “ideals” wishing that Germany had won at the Marne in 1914, or a modern-day “states’ rightist” wishing that Lee had won at Gettysburg in 1863. (Yes, I know people who hold these opinions, and they are by no means “right-wingers”. Some of them vote straight Democratic tickets.)
Obama is simply Plato writ large. A disaffected academic with pretensions to godhood who has lucked into a milieu’ in which he actually can force everyone else to live in the fantasy world that exists in his own mind.
We’re just fortunate that (a) he is not nearly as brilliant as he believes himself to be, and (b) he is fundamentally lazy. If he were smart and industrious in addition to being delusional, megalomaniacal, and narcissistic, we’d really be in trouble.

The video shows an undamaged external fuel tank, likely fished out of the water. The planes drop these spent tanks all of the time and no doubt some have washed up on Gaza shores over the years.
The whole Palestinian case is built on a foundation of lies. While much of that influences the west the really tragic consequence is how it effects Palestinians. They cannot seem to achieve anything of value and hold their leaders accountable for failure because so much of what they hold true is a fabrication.
One major loss for Hamas this time which is not getting mentioned was their inability to shoot down a single aircraft or drone despite major efforts in procuring anti aircraft weapons including a number of russian shoulder fired missiles brought from Libya. We can be sure that they tried.

The jihadists will keep trying but God will not allow them to prevail. Psalm 83 talks about the inner ring of “countries” — Egypt, Saudi, Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas, etc.; and Ezekiel 38 talks about the outer ring — Libya, Iran, Turkey, Russia, etc. Very interesting in light of what goes on in the middle east these days.
First, The US becomes energy independent rapidly. Cut the supply of oil from the Arab world. Without money the Arabs will fight among themselves because Israel is not their major problem; they are their major problem. The Palestinians are a fake people who have been shoved around the Arab rulers for years.
Second, Arm Israel with that she needs to defend herself and even to advance on all fronts.
Third, cut aid to Egypt and the Arab world. The handouts do nothing but encourage radicalism and hatred for America and the West.
Fourth, End the Afganistan campaign today and save money. Bring home every member of the US Armed Forces. Stop all projects even if the contractors lose money.
Fifth, Empty the Department of State of all Arabists, including Hillary sidekick, Mrs. Weiner.

Israel as a nation is an independent actor, with its own survival at stake. Israel as a western-style “democracy” is politically divided among parties that share a common purpose. Racially, culturally and religiously, Israel is more like Japan or Saudi Arabia in its homogeneity than America. In war we know that the Iron Dome works in practice. Like a lot of conservatives, I was disappointed that American Jews voted for Obama, in percentages that rivaled blacks, Latinos and Hollywood celebrities. New York, Miami Beach and Hollywood would not have voted so overwhelmingly for Obama if they had thought that Obama was actually throwing Israel to the wolves. I look for Israel to create new vistas for America, especially as we withdraw from the Middle East and allow the Chinese in, as the British once abandoned all the world east of Aden to us.

No investment in time, effort, service, or fidelity to the ethos, principles, laws and customs of the nation necessary. Assured their entitlements grow exponentially as required in their symbiotic transactions with the “representatives of the People” with government “largesse” at their disposal. Description for the transaction is “blackmail”. But who is being blackmailed? By whom?
So by election We The People now have in government in the late twentieth – 1960 onwards – and early twenty-first centuries a Congress, Judiciary and Executive wolf pack of salavering predators who see citizens who enable the social contract of their Founding Fathers as cattle to be milked and milked and milked until the teats run dry.
What about the cattle: the taxpayers, the productive citizens who generally honour the social contract? Are they to stand quietly in the fields waiting to be picked off one by one?

And meanwhile the usual wretched suspects of celebrities and Nobel peace prize winners signed onto the cause of calling for the EU and US to stop weapons sales to Israel due to what they call Israel’s “aggression” against Gaza. So essentially they are supporting hamas being able to fire rockets at Israeli civilians unobstructed, which in turn means they support the massacre of Jews. What else to call this except nazism? The left are constantly harassing the beseiged and beleaguered Jewish state as they fight to survive amongst genocidal enemies surrounding them. Yet they say nothing of the very real apartheid practiced in muslim countries, the rabid Jew-hatred and the persecution and murder of non-muslims.
Europeans pretend they are smarter and more informed than Americans, but they are in fact grossly uninformed and intellectually lazy, particularly when it comes to the Middle East. They have it so completely wrong. Or else they are just plain old antisemites.
