Obama Supporter Assaults Female McCain Volunteer in New York
While the Democrat-leaning media continues to scare undecided voters with bedtime stories about some mythical angry McCain supporter whom nobody has seen, here is a real district attorney’s complaint documenting an unprovoked assault by an enraged Democrat against a McCain volunteer in midtown Manhattan: “Defendant grabbed the sign [informant] was holding, broke the wood stick that was attached to it, and then struck informant in informant’s face thereby causing informant to sustain redness, swelling, and bruising to informant’s face and further causing informant to sustain substantial pain.”
The names have been redacted out of respect for people’s privacy
The overly formal document doesn’t mention this important detail: the victim was a small, quiet, middle-aged woman wearing glasses, and the attacker was a loud, angry man who went into orbit at the mere sight of McCain campaign signs.
On a Monday afternoon, September 15, 2008, three McCain volunteers were holding campaign signs and distributing leaflets on a busy corner of 51st Street and Lexington Avenue. As they were peacefully talking to each other, they were approached by a man who, in the words of the victim, provided the impression of “a rather benign, doughy-looking guy — not a person I would have expected to assault me.”

He rushed towards them, grabbed a McCain sign off a volunteer’s hands, and tore it apart. That didn’t seem enough.
Cue crickets.
Of course the fact that it was the woman he chose to attack speaks volumes about this courageous liberal. Too bad it didn’t happen where there was a contingent of Veterans for Freedom or a similar group who could have given him an attitude adjustment before the cops arrived.

My advice is, go to WalMart and buy a gun. Regardless of who wins this election trouble is going to erupt,particularly in urban areas.Don’t carry it around with you like some nut but keep it in your home in a secure place and learn how to use it to protect yourself and your family. The news report that secret service investigation that they found no truth that Sara Palin refused to stop her mob from yelling “Kill Him” is false. If you would like to discuss attempts to disallow votes, please remember this: In 2000, before the actual election, before the Florida recount, before the butterfly ballot, before CBS tried to give the state to Gore, before any of that, the Democratic party had a plan in place to try to disallow military absentee ballots. Before they knew that the absentee ballots would be important, Democrats were trying to keep military personnel from having their votes count. Democrats love to cry “Fraud!” and claim Republicans are stealing elections, but when the actual evidence is examined, it becomes very clear that Democrats are the masters of election theft.

But you owe it to this country to understand what the slippery slope of socialism and concentrated government power brings. The accusation of “kill him” has been investigated and proven to be false by the Secret Service. The writer that authored that story (which was subsequently run on EVERY liberal media outlet – before it was even vetted for accuracy!) can’t even offer any proof to validate his false claim. Can someone, anyone, please provide any evidence of a pattern of violence being perpetrated BY Republicans/Conservatives AGAINST Democrats/Liberals?
The evidence is quite clear. We have campaign headquarters being vandalized; signs being firebombed; supporters being physically assaulted; automobiles rented by campaigns to transport voters having their tires slashed on election day; and a list longer than both my arms stitched together of additional offenses. The media has been complicit in creating this idea that “violence begets violence”, and so the Republicans deserve what they get. Except for the very inconvenient fact that the Republicans are not doing much, if any, of the violence in the first place.
I hold the media responsible for most of this activity. They are misinforming the public about the “danger” presented by McCain/Palin and their “angry mobs” of followers. It’s simply not there. Go to a McCain/Palin event, and you will see people engaging in the pinnacle of courtesy… even in the face of protesters, condescendors, gate-crashers and other disruptive characters.
It’s quite obvious that the media is also complicit the current attempt to disrupt this election with claims of voter fraud, intimidation and “vote suppression”, as they stack up claims by Republicans that the actions of ACORN, and similar groups, need to be investigated and voter identification needs to be substantiated. Why does proving you have a right to vote equate to “voter intimidation”? Why are people, only on the left, afraid to identify themselves as being legal voters in a community where they live? I am very disappointed with the Supreme Court decision today saying that every vote must be counted, even if it belongs to a corpse, or 2nd grader, or Mickey Mouse. The whole thing is a carefully crafted (although not consciously conceived) attempt at stealing the election from McCain/Palin and handing it to Obama/Biden. Heck, even the polls are tilted. They have to interview 30% more Democrats than Republicans in order to give the impression that Obama is winning. The only reason they would do that is to dishearten the Conservative voters, and make them feel “weird”, “stupid” or just “hateful” for supporting their candidate.
The propaganda machine moves on. 90% of journalists can’t be wrong, can they? I actually fear a McCain win, because the media will now spend another four years telling us what a failure he is, how angry and erratic he is, and how he didn’t deserve to be elected, anyway. Tell me how that will serve this country. Please.
Ugh. It’s hardly even worth writing about at this point. The truth will never get through to most Americans, anyway. They think all world events can be understood in 20 minutes or less.

This has been a particurlarly vicious political season. Only a few days ago, I saw a video of (not than many) McCain supporters walking through that bastion of liberalism… New York City. By more than a few people, the Mc Cain supporters, doing nothing more than walking in the street with signs, were being screamed at, angrily told to “Get outta here!”, and obscene gestures were offered by men and women alike.
I can just imagine the huge cry and coverage from the good old mainstream media had it been a liberal woman smacked by a conservative man. And I agree with you Anthony, if McCain wins, the media will begin the attack immediately and more likely than not bring down the economy fully.

Same here on the Nobama sticker on the back of a vehicle. I have a friend who has a Nobama sticker on the back of his truck and he had to stay at a hotel around here not to long ago. The next morning when he came out his tires were slashed. Was it because of the Nobama sticker? Was it because he was in military uniform? Was it a random act? I don’t know and he doesn’t either but I can say that he’s stayed at that hotel many times previously with the other members in my unit and has never had a problem. Now with the addition of the Nobama sticker he wakes up the next morning and his tires are slashed. Hmmm…I wonder. I’d love to put a Nobama sticker on the back of my vehicle but I too worry about the people I live around or the next police officer that pulls me over for speeding.

Some of my friends went to a Palin rally this week and when I asked them what it was like to be part of an angry mob (as CNN described them), they just about fell over laughing (although they did admit to chanting “We want FOX” when the CNN folks came around, so maybe that did it).

I have a McCain sticker on my minivan in Austin tx (lib heaven). It’s been vandalised. I live on the east (poor, liberal) side of town, and am honestly worried about my safety when voting. I’ll have to stealth-vote and borrow an unstickered vehicle to drive to the polling station. And probably lie if I’m asked an exit poll question. That’s life in the Obama-nation for you.

I may, by your standards be considered a “liberal” – but I’ve got to tell you… I am an educated woman, with a professional career. I’ve managed to have two children while also working full-time. We have cut costs on so many things in our home, by reducing bills and selling a car over the summer. My husbands company has completely stopped giving overtime, and he doesn’t make a high enough hourly wage to live off of. We don’t have enough money to buy groceries. We buy what our children need and my husband and I don’t eat many nights. What you said really hurt because it’s almost as if you were implying you didn’t care if my family and I didn’t eat and that food stamps are something to laugh at. But, I’ve got to be honest when I say, they may not be that far off because frankly I’m getting sick of having stomach cramps when going to bed.

I am shaking in my boots as I am a small business owner (of course, not to Obama, as my company makes more than $200000 a year) and I have worked hard to achieve success. I had a Bush/Cheney sticker on my SUV during the last election, and a day didn’t go by without some crazy angry lib flipping me the bird or cussing me out directly. I once had to dodge questions from my confused and concerned 4 year old daughter, when some lady verbally attacked us in a CVS parking lot while I was simply buckling her and my other infant daughter into the car. She approaced me calling me the C-word among other pleasantries just because I had a sticker on my car.
Basically it was my first political “teaching” moment and explained that what she witnessed was what happens when someone crosses over the line from “having” a belief and “becoming” their beliefs. According to the lead attorney, he thought McCain had done NOTHING wrong and that he and John Glenn should NOT be included in the hearings. Right at this moment I’m actually looking for someone who gives a crap about this country, it’s citizens, it’s future! It makes me sick to think that it comes across as some sort of game these two buttholes are playing instead of the reality of it all — a lot of people who have worked long and hard for their savings and investments have had it wiped out! That there is no vetting process for these candidates, that the mainstream news media are so biased and elitist that the news is distorted, slanted, created, and sometimes omitted, and they are outright brazen about it! The fact that the news media ‘knows’ we, the people can get news now 24/7 anywhere in the world doesn’t even bother them.
That McCain won’t call Obama out on his birth certification requirements, that Obama won’t produce it, that the media won’t invesigate it is a crime! That there is visable voter fraud reported and no one seems concerned by the fact that there are legitimate ties by Obama to ACORN, and it could ultimately turn an election, that our vote won’t matter, and no one is screaming about it is unamerican! It is horrible to see this country divided by race- I thought we all have come along way until this election! Freedom of speech is being extinguished under the guise of ‘racist’, people are being investigated for stating their opinions, and we are all diminished by it.
I give to charitble organizations all the time, through my church and where I work, I sponsor 4 kids through the Christian children’s fund, I want to decide where my hard earned dollars go, I don’t want the government doing it for me. I am an adult-I live in America-I work hard for my pay-and to have the government mandating that they will ‘take’ , I mean steal, my money and spread it around bothers the hell out of me!

However, all it will take is a couple of assaults on conservatives who are lawfully carrying concealed weapons and who lawfully defend themselves with said weapons. This does not shock me at all. As a conservative for the past 20 years (I am 56 years old), I have, since my “conversion” to conservatism been riduculed, screamed at, hit at, called hateful, greedy (even though my husband and I give a large portion of our meager hard-earned salary to charity and the rest of my family, who have inherited 6 figures, give nothing)and many other unsavory names by my family if I in any way put forth a position that differs from theirs. So if I want to be around family I must be silent as they loudly proclaim their positions in order to avoid a “riot”. My dad died when I was two and mom raised SIX kids BY HERSELF! She had FOUR jobs and ALL of us delivered newspapers twice a day! We NEVER had to be on food stamps or any kind of government assistance! We did however learn to like powdered milk, rice, crackers, and bologna. Take some freaking responsibility for yourself or ask your church for charity. There are food banks out there for a reason!

Doesn’t surprise me. As a New Yorker, I wore my Bush/Cheney pin all over New York City, mostly to see what kind of reaction it got. I remember two old women on the subway who started heckling me — me, a 6 foot, 220 pound guy built like a hockey player — because I had the audacity to wear such a pin in a blue state.
I answered them politely on the issues, telling them I was in NYC on 9-11, and national security is my central voting litmus test. And I also told them I’d be thinking about them on Election Night, and I would laugh at them. I repeated myself: “I will think about this on Election Night, and I will laugh at you.”
And I did.
To the woman attacked — I hope she recovers, but undoubtedly she will be emotionally hurt in the sense that this is what Obama and other PC thugs have done to the country and our political system: people can’t disagree for fear of being labeled racist, etc. I do hope in the privacy of the voting booth, Americans too afraid to publicly support McCain will do so where it counts.

Dom801: I feel terrible for you. We also have 2 children, and I have a home business which has allowed me to be home with them, but produces a meager second income. We have cut back on everything as well, but voting for Obama is not the answer. Welfare is nothing to be ashamed of, but government run programs are rife with fraud and often go to those who are not deeply in need. Adding more government intervention programs does not raise those who are down, but keeps them there. There are private programs that can help with hunger and that do a much better job.

I work every morning at the local McCain/Palin office. Lately there have been more and more “moms” coming in for signs, stickers or to volunteer. These are people who, in some cases, never voted before (and are a group the pollsters don’t count on). They are usually quite tentative about taking home signs and stickers, enquiring if we had heard any stories in regards to signs. They are so fired up to vote this year, yet fear showing it. We live in a generally quiet suburban area and these ladies aren’t afraid about losing the free platic signs, they are afraid of violence because of the signs.
Why is that?

This is the insanity that the GOP is marketing. Now to say okay I think he’s inexperienced, and hasn’t had enough time in the Senate is a rational thought. If Senator Obama should win, my prayer for him is this: Reassure gun owners that their guns are safe, and he only wishes to get them out of the hands of criminals, and gang members. Also, find a way to balance out the taxing for those making $250,000 or more so they will not feel as if they are being taken advantage of. My last post showed my anger because inspite of everything, I love this country. As an African American it may surprise many who are of other persuasions, but many African Americans are morally conservative about premarital sex and abortion inspite of the fact the media portrays otherwise. Many voted for Bush because of his Faith Based Program. We too care about the condition of this country and how it will be for our children. An unsubstantial story here reflects the overall unsubstantial campaigns being run by both parties. I don’t like war in general, but do believe that it is a necessary evil. I have friends in Iraq and they don’t support the war. My bf is in the Navy and has stated to me that more 4 star generals have quit under this president than any other, but that doesn’t reflect any one other than Bush, which by the way I believe is a miserable failure. However, I think he’s got some admirable qualities. You can fail and i’ll still like you is a belief.
The economy sucks for everyone. I’m 29 and have a 401k and some mutual funds and i looked once last week and am scared to look again. If you really read between the lines, it’s our bipartisan system that has caused this problem through multitudes of fumbles, rather than one party. I believe in seeing the forest through the trees rather than just the trees. I can’t understand why Joe the Plumber complained because Obama’s tax plan would help him if you do unbiased math. Oh and by the way, my bf is a republican. We debate at home and we never come to an agreement except to disagree. Relationships require compromise but this actually leads to a very healthy sex life.
My brother is gay and I think we share the same beliefs on the gay marriage thing: gays shouldn’t marry, but a civil union granting them the same rights is fine and dandy. Besides, only God can determine their holy destination. I believe the underlying message Jesus brought to the world was love man and embrace his mistakes for they are all our own. I think the bible is outdated, but also think it allows for interpretation – again! I think the constitution is outdated as well.
I own guns but don’t shoot often. It’s powerful and fun to shoot pop cans. I have a bi-racial niece and 2 nephews. Now, their fathers are losers but the kids they helped create are magnificent and will surely make an impression upon the world.
Two of my best friends in the world are republicans and we disagree a lot, but we drink together, dine together and share a ton of the same views. I’m fiscally responsible. My student loans are almost paid off and I don’t think I live beyond my means, but I am comfortable. I had to pay my sister’s mortgage cause she was one of those subprime people that the world is talking about. However, she had a string of bad luck and now she’s back on her feet!
I guess i’m a bad liberal. I voted for Obama because I really feel connected to him and believe the democratic process has more sides than that of the president. But I do agree, congress is lazy! Pelosi sucks. I think the key is coming together. I could be wrong once again…

Had a school official engaged in such behavior, I would expect his termination from employment as well as a nice, fat Section 1983 suit against the school system. Nothing to see here, though. My senior citizen aunt in a diverse suburb of NYC is afraid to put a McCain sign on her lawn. I notice that many people only say they are voting for McCain in whispers, yet I get quiet smiles and surreptitious thumbs up signs when I wear my McCain-Palin cap. I think people are afraid to express opposition to The One.
The Democrats have become the new Nazis under Obama. This is the first time in my life I feel threatened to express a political preference in this country. In other words, the election would mark the restoration of the activist government that fell out of public favor in the 1970s. If the U.S. really is entering a period of unchecked left-wing ascendancy, Americans at least ought to understand what they will be getting, especially with the media cheering it all on.
The nearby table shows the major bills that passed the House this year or last before being stopped by the Senate minority. Keep in mind that the most important power of the filibuster is to shape legislation, not merely to block it. The threat of 41 committed Senators can cause the House to modify its desires even before legislation comes to a vote. Without that restraining power, all of the following have very good chances of becoming law in 2009 or 2010.
- Medicare for all. When HillaryCare cratered in 1994, the Democrats concluded they had overreached, so they carved up the old agenda into smaller incremental steps, such as Schip for children. A strongly Democratic Congress is now likely to lay the final flagstones on the path to government-run health insurance from cradle to grave.
Mr. Obama wants to build a public insurance program, modeled after Medicare and open to everyone of any income. According to the Lewin Group, the gold standard of health policy analysis, the Obama plan would shift between 32 million and 52 million from private coverage to the huge new entitlement. Like Medicare or the Canadian system, this would never be repealed.
The commitments would start slow, so as not to cause immediate alarm. But as U.S. health-care spending flowed into the default government options, taxes would have to rise or services would be rationed, or both. Single payer is the inevitable next step, as Mr. Obama has already said is his ultimate ideal.
- The business climate. “We have some harsh decisions to make,” Speaker Nancy Pelosi warned recently, speaking about retribution for the financial panic. Look for a replay of the Pecora hearings of the 1930s, with Henry Waxman, John Conyers and Ed Markey sponsoring ritual hangings to further their agenda to control more of the private economy. The financial industry will get an overhaul in any case, but telecom, biotech and drug makers, among many others, can expect to be investigated and face new, more onerous rules. See the “Issues and Legislation” tab on Mr. Waxman’s Web site for a not-so-brief target list.
The danger is that Democrats could cause the economic downturn to last longer than it otherwise will by enacting regulatory overkill like Sarbanes-Oxley. Something more punitive is likely as well, for instance a windfall profits tax on oil, and maybe other industries.
- Union supremacy. One program certain to be given right of way is “card check.” Unions have been in decline for decades, now claiming only 7.4% of the private-sector work force, so Big Labor wants to trash the secret-ballot elections that have been in place since the 1930s. The “Employee Free Choice Act” would convert workplaces into union shops merely by gathering signatures from a majority of employees, which means organizers could strongarm those who opposed such a petition.
The bill also imposes a compulsory arbitration regime that results in an automatic two-year union “contract” after 130 days of failed negotiation. The point is to force businesses to recognize a union whether the workers support it or not. This would be the biggest pro-union shift in the balance of labor-management power since the Wagner Act of 1935.
- Taxes. Taxes will rise substantially, the only question being how high. Mr. Obama would raise the top income, dividend and capital-gains rates for “the rich,” substantially increasing the cost of new investment in the U.S. More radically, he wants to lift or eliminate the cap on income subject to payroll taxes that fund Medicare and Social Security. This would convert what was meant to be a pension insurance program into an overt income redistribution program. It would also impose a probably unrepealable increase in marginal tax rates, and a permanent shift upward in the federal tax share of GDP.
- The green revolution. A tax-and-regulation scheme in the name of climate change is a top left-wing priority. Cap and trade would hand Congress trillions of dollars in new spending from the auction of carbon credits, which it would use to pick winners and losers in the energy business and across the economy. Huge chunks of GDP and millions of jobs would be at the mercy of Congress and a vast new global-warming bureaucracy. Without the GOP votes to help stage a filibuster, Senators from carbon-intensive states would have less ability to temper coastal liberals who answer to the green elites.
- Free speech and voting rights. A liberal supermajority would move quickly to impose procedural advantages that could cement Democratic rule for years to come. One early effort would be national, election-day voter registration. This is a long-time goal of Acorn and others on the “community organizer” left and would make it far easier to stack the voter rolls. The District of Columbia would also get votes in Congress — Democratic, naturally.
Felons may also get the right to vote nationwide, while the Fairness Doctrine is likely to be reimposed either by Congress or the Obama FCC. A major goal of the supermajority left would be to shut down talk radio and other voices of political opposition.
- Special-interest potpourri. Look for the watering down of No Child Left Behind testing standards, as a favor to the National Education Association. The tort bar’s ship would also come in, including limits on arbitration to settle disputes and watering down the 1995 law limiting strike suits. New causes of legal action would be sprinkled throughout most legislation. The anti-antiterror lobby would be rewarded with the end of Guantanamo and military commissions, which probably means trying terrorists in civilian courts. Google and MoveOn.org would get “net neutrality” rules, subjecting the Internet to intrusive regulation for the first time.
It’s always possible that events — such as a recession — would temper some of these ambitions. Republicans also feared the worst in 1993 when Democrats ran the entire government, but it didn’t turn out that way. On the other hand, Bob Dole then had 43 GOP Senators to support a filibuster, and the entire Democratic Party has since moved sharply to the left. Mr. Obama’s agenda is far more liberal than Bill Clinton’s was in 1992, and the Southern Democrats who killed Al Gore’s BTU tax and modified liberal ambitions are long gone.
In both 1933 and 1965, liberal majorities imposed vast expansions of government that have never been repealed, and the current financial panic may give today’s left another pretext to return to those heydays of welfare-state liberalism. Americans voting for “change” should know they may get far more than they ever imagined.

There was no “proof” found by the Secret Service that “Kill Him” had been yelled. This is a perfectly reasonable and expected finding given that one man yelling something in a crowd is relatively hard to prove. I’ve been to football games where men engaged in actual fist fights have gotten away with it because no one could prove it happened. The hate and sentiments from both sides of the extreme members of these campaigns should be ashamed of themselves.
I have to say, however, I remain skeptical of this story and will remain so until I see something resembling proof. Right now you have a one-sided account with documentation that deliberately blots out anything that could be used to confirm the story. Unlike the stories covering the Palin rallies, there are no names on the record here. No one putting their reputation up to back up their claims. There is no reason to blot out the arresting officer’s name and badge number unless you’re trying to hide details of this story from being confirmed.
There are nuts on both sides of this election. The comments above prove that. And while there is no excuse for violence, until we have information that can be used to validate this story it’s just a bunch of photos on an internet site.

The violence in this election season is beyond imagination in a free country. It has been promoted by Senator Obama himself by telling folks to “get in their faces”, some people take that type of talk literally and some take it seriously. We are at a point in our nation— socialism or capitalism, personally I think it is wrong to tax anyone who has worked hard and earned their monies to give to someone else, the robin hood days are gone, I think these people should be able to give to people with less by donating to charity, if they wish. Looking at the govt today who would want them run this nation, have thy proven they can be trusted to do so, corruption in Fannie Mae, investment markets, really we need to think how and what we want for our future generations and vote accordingly. No one should have to fear putting a sign up anywhere in a free country instead of change, we have fear.

I live in the Conservative bastion of North Idaho and there has not been a single incident of vandalism against Obama bumper sticker toting cars (knock on wood). If there were, I’m sure we would have heard about it as liberals love to shout out their grievances, much like the tantrum-throwing tot in the stroller.
I agree with Dee 223–it will be slow deliberate anger building after an Obama win and the socialist congress’ erosion of our rights. It might be similar to 1964, where much of LBJ’s Great Society enforcers were voted out in 1966. Or if the liberals have there way and give DC representation, and felons the right to vote, the anger will explode, and then the smug libs who vandalize cars and intimidate old ladies will be dragged screaming from their mansions and welfare apartments alike.

I think it is really pathetic to call Obama a terrorist or to believe that McCain doesn’t care about people. These people are a product of where they came from, just like you and I. I live in a neighborhood of mixed nationalities, I’m white, my best friends across from me are black, my co-worker down the road is Asian, the new neighbors next door are Mexican… I like this neighborhood – mainly because in the six years I’ve lived here no one ever put a Political sign in thier yards until this year. One guy did and it’s for Obama – and I was surpized. How could this nice old White Man, Retired Military vote for Obama – I think people are just scared but they are not thinking.
I was at this rally. I was one of the guys handing out McCain literature. We handed out everything, all the stickers, pamphlets everything. On the whole, people were very nice to us. A lot of thumbs-up and so on. Some boos, but more cheers.
Maybe two weeks after this, we had another rally at another street fair. Same thing. One woman grabbed a McCain bumper sticker from the woman I was with. The Democrat (I am assuming) assailant twisted my friends hand and fingers, took the bumper sticker, tried unsuccessfully to tear it, then threw it to the ground and stomped on it.
I walked up to the Democrat and said, “Thank you very much!” and picked up the sticker and straightened it out. We later handed it out to somebody else.
The Democrat was enraged, unable to speak.
Other people were just as nice. “Republicans want everybody to die!” “Bush is Hitler” and so forth. We smiled and waved.
It was a lot of fun.

Violence is dispicable and deplorable. Why though is this man called an Obama supporter? Was he carrying a sign? Wearing a Tshirt? Maybe he just hates the Republican fleecing of America and sadly McCain’s supporters are the most visible representation. The man is a hater certainly and abuser of a woman but to call him a supporter of what Obama stands for is a huge stretch.
I live in a rural , traditional red state where there are deep pockets of racism and have been to afraid to put an Obama sticker on my car, I can’t afford to replace it.
It’s sad all around.

I am a 75 yr old white female who has been a Democrat since I first voted at age 21. My parents before me always voted Democrat in their time. I cannot believe the name calling that is going on at this time at this site. None of my people have ever been on drugs, welfare or have ever been any of the hateful names you are calling Democrats. I don’t know where you are getting your lies about Obama but it has to stop. He was not born in Kenya, he is not unamerican in any way. Check your own party….they are not pure and clean.
