It’s relatively simple, some news have a heavily conservative slant, but the paper tries to cover all kinds of news in a fairly neutral way. Some letters to the editor come from rabid extremists, but are published anyway. Consistency in the news is the basis, as time goes by, different reporters will eventually paint the true picture, you can’t distort things forever if you’re trying to your keep readership, whom are intelligent people and can detect trends, truths and fallacies.

Hmm, suddenly the Left is all about “let the people vote.” Yet when the people voted in favor of Proposition 8 banning Gay Marriage in California, the Left went to war in the courts to try to reverse the “people’s vote.”

The Left loves to protest against right-wing leaders who govern above the law, like Pinochet, yet can hardly find words against law-flaunting left-wing leaders, like Castro, Chavez, or Zelaya.

The Left loves to question authority, unless they’re the authority being questioned.
