Middle School Brainwashing: Would MLK Approve of Holocaust Denial and Anti-Semitism?
Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Berkeley, California, turns its back on its namesake's vision: it's hosting a Holocaust denier and a virulently anti-American and anti-Semitic rapper at a program tonight. Student tickets are free, of course. Update: "It’s come to this," Ed Driscoll writes: "CNN's Anderson Cooper defends segregated education."

Tonight at 7:30 p.m., Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Berkeley, California — a public school — will host a fundraiser for the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA). The evening’s festivities are titled: “Rendezvous with Victory: Benefiting the Children in Gaza.”
Headlining the event will be Hezbollah supporter Norman Finkelstein, who will be promoting his new book, This Time We Went Too Far: Truth & Consequences of the Gaza Invasion. He will be joined by pro-Palestinian activist Jody McIntyre and the viciously anti-American, anti-Israel rap artist Lowkey.
Perhaps all one needs to understand Norman Finkelstein is apparent in the respect afforded him by Iran:
In light of Finkelstein’s history of attacking Holocaust survivors — Elie Wiesel, he claims, lied about his background — it is not surprising that, when the Iranians convened a Holocaust-denial conference [in 2006], they invited two Americans: David Duke and Norman Finkelstein.
Finkelstein’s appearance is evidence of a school event coordinator with an agenda regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and an indifference in presenting a balanced perspective to the school’s children. However, as galling as Finkelstein’s invitation is, the presentation of anti-Israel animus in the form of a rap artist belies a complete and undeniable attempt to brainwash children with anti-American and anti-Zionist sentiment.
Lowkey performed this week at UC San Diego for the Muslim Student Association’s “Israel Apartheid Week.” He is also scheduled to perform at UC Santa Cruz and the University of Arizona.
Click here to watch Lowkey’s video for “Obama Nation.” You will see an incitement to violence against America: following brutal criticism of the U.S., the video shows a nuclear explosion superimposed with the words “Obama Nation.”
Following is a portion of the lyrics to “Obama Nation“:
Since 1945, the United States has attempted to overthrow
more than 50 foreign governments
In the process the United States has ended the life
of several million people
And condemned millions more to a life of agony and despair
The strength of the dream prevents you from reason
The American dream only makes sense if you are dreaming
Take everything from me and from Africans
and wonder why I call it the racist experiment
Afraid of your melanin, that ain’t gonna change
with the race of the president.
Racism under your skin tone,
you could call it Christopher Columbus Syndrome.
“Obama Nation” is mild compared with Lowkey’s “Long Live Palestine” (click here for the video):
While we listen to fools making ignorant tunes
Israel blocked the UN from delivering food
They bring in the troops and you won’t even glimpse at the news
They make money off the products that we are quick to consume
It’s not simply a question of different views
Forget emotion this is fact
What I spit is the truth
Makes no difference if you are a Christian or if you are Jew
They are just people living in different conditions than you.
They still die when you bomb their schools, mosques and hospitals,
it’s not because of rockets
Free people in Palestine
We will never let you go
Free, Free Palestine, Free, Free Palestine
Palestine remains in my heart forever
We stand for peace, in times of war we shant surrender
It didn’t start in this dark December
Every coin is a bullet if your [sic] Marks and Spencer
And when you are sipping Coca Cola,
That’s another pistol in the hearts of them soulless soldiers
You say you know about the Zionist lobby
But you put money in their pocket when you are buying their coffee
Talking about revolution, sitting in Starbucks
In fact, this is the kind of thinking that I can’t trust
Let alone even start to respect
Before you talk, learn the meaning of that scarf on your neck
Obama promised Israel 30 billion over the next decade
Their [sic] trigger happy and their [sic] crazy
Think about that when you are putting Huggies nappies on your baby
It’s not justa [sic] war over stolen land,
Why do you think little boys are throwing stones at tanks
How will never know how many people are dead
They drop bombs on innocent girls while they sleep in their beds.
Don’t get offended by facts, try and listen,
nothing is more anti-Semitic than Zionism
So please don’t bring bad vibes when you speak to me
There are plenty of rabbis who agree with me
How many more resolutions have to be violated?
How many more children have to annihilated
Israel is a terrorist state
They’re terrorists that terrorize
I testify that my television televised them telling me lies
This is not a war, it is systematic genocide
But whatever they try
Palestine will never die
