Middle School Brainwashing: Would MLK Approve of Holocaust Denial and Anti-Semitism?
Tonight at 7:30 p.m., Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Berkeley, California — a public school — will host a fundraiser for the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA). The evening’s festivities are titled: “Rendezvous with Victory: Benefiting the Children in Gaza.”
Headlining the event will be Hezbollah supporter Norman Finkelstein, who will be promoting his new book, This Time We Went Too Far: Truth & Consequences of the Gaza Invasion. He will be joined by pro-Palestinian activist Jody McIntyre and the viciously anti-American, anti-Israel rap artist Lowkey.
Perhaps all one needs to understand Norman Finkelstein is apparent in the respect afforded him by Iran:
In light of Finkelstein’s history of attacking Holocaust survivors — Elie Wiesel, he claims, lied about his background — it is not surprising that, when the Iranians convened a Holocaust-denial conference [in 2006], they invited two Americans: David Duke and Norman Finkelstein.
Finkelstein’s appearance is evidence of a school event coordinator with an agenda regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and an indifference in presenting a balanced perspective to the school’s children. However, as galling as Finkelstein’s invitation is, the presentation of anti-Israel animus in the form of a rap artist belies a complete and undeniable attempt to brainwash children with anti-American and anti-Zionist sentiment.
Lowkey performed this week at UC San Diego for the Muslim Student Association’s “Israel Apartheid Week.” He is also scheduled to perform at UC Santa Cruz and the University of Arizona.

As an Israeli I find myself living an ever-more Orwellian reality, where “peace” activists insist that no attack on an Israeli is ever a crime. Ignoring Palestinian agression, these same peace activitists put forth the libelous claim that the evil of war — all of it — is attributed to Jewish blood lust. There probably aren’t ANY white skinheads in Berkeley — in fact, my nephew, a poor little white boy, sadly attended this revolting Berkeley school system, was outnumbered by black students about 25:1. Based on what I know, the student body is overwhelmingly BLACK — the remainder is predominantly HISPANIC, with a tiny tiny TINY minority of white students in attendance.

Finkelstein doesn’t deny the holocaust, though I suppose its convenient to smear him that way since there really is no defense against his real thesis. That the holocaust is used by unscrupulous people to derail criticism of Israel. There’s no defense to that, because almost any right of center defense of Israel is steeped in accusations of holocaust denial and anti-semitism. Finkelstein notes this, he makes no historical investigation into the details of the holocaust. Its not surprising that this article, too, is just one of many slanderous and dishonest digs at anyone who would even mildly criticize Israel–or even worse, take the side of Palestinians, who suffer in a three to one body count in the conflict. Its unfortunate that the readership of PJM is too stupid to know any better. The only consolation is that as time goes on, this kind of thinking becomes more and more marginalized, and its presence an easy indicator of brainless people lacking insight who can safely be ignored in any discourse.

You’re right, a body count is not an indicator of morality, it’s a Leftist conceit and delusional to ascribe morality to success itself. While hundreds of inaccurate rockets flew into Israel from Gaza in the mid-2000′s, they were downplayed and often not even mentioned because of their inaccuracy. Israel’s ability to accurately counter this with 105mm artillery, for example, is not immoral because it is more successful. So, what we have is indeed a case where it is success itself that has attained immorality, the success of the United States in historical competitions, with Mexico for example in 1848, the success of Europe versus the innocent middle east who assailed Europe with great fervor when able to, the success of white Americans vs. black Americans. Intent has been stripped out of the equation of morality entirely and so endemic failure championed as is evident in Berkeley.

In order to maintain a leadership position he could not afford to be outflanked on his left by types even more “activist” than he (the odious Sharpton and Farrakhan for example)and he would have sought accomodation. It would have taken the form of some sort of Carteresque “A plague on both your houses” position but there would have been a good deal of semi-reluctant Israel-bashing and sotto voce anti-semitism. Why does everyone equate anti-Israel to anti-semitisim? One is a religion the other is a nation state. Last time I looked in my dictionary those were separate things. Also, the author uses the words Holocaust denial, but no one at the school while talking to the kids denied the holocaust. So, the premise of the article is BS to begin with. Second, MLK would totally be about the plight of the Palestinians. Anyone who thinks otherwise is uneducated on the subject.
