Mexico is effectively defunct. The solution to or problem is to cease to recognize it. Sanctions need to be emplaced, until they rectify their chaotic situation and restore order.

vivo - First good post from you I have ever seen. Interview them in Spanish. You'll know from their accents and communication styles whether or not they are legit.

Mexico should be treated as the threat that they are, a far larger threat to the US than Iran, Pakistan, or Iraq are. Mexico has 20 million invaders already here, how many from those "terrorist" nations? Illegal Mexican and central Americans kill American citizens here EVERYDAY! They murder, rape, molest and kill via drunk driving. The news supresses these crimes as not to "alarm" the masses. If a "comprehensive" accounting of illegal alien crimes were assembled and published, it would shock the nation. Because it would, these crimes will be unreported. The Chamber of Commerce, ethnic supremicy groups like La Raza, Republican and Democratic parties want nothing to do with facts. They get in the way of the lies.

Americans are so utterly clueless. Mexican foreign nationals, from a nation,(Mexico) that has never really had much love for the U.S., open embassy after embassy, in State after State, in the United States of America, and Americans have a kind of duhhh, attitude about it all. God, are we setting ourselves up for disaster. How many Mexican embassies are there in this nation now, and WHY EXACTLY??

23. thepass:

"My first post here so let me begin by supporting your comments, with one exception. The anarchy going on in Mexico is not what I’d call a civil war but the sheer destruction of law and order by narco-terrorists, aided by the culture of corruption already firmly entrenched in Mexico.

Others, who advocate here legalizing various drugs in the assumption that our drug violence problems will go away, are delusional. The cartels are PUSHING meth on Indian reservations to replace alcohol as the dependent drug of choice. Its about power and control and legalizing pot is not going to reduce the narco-terrorism one bit."

(((WELCOME))) and EXCELLENT first post. How very right and astute you are. Legalizing Mary Jane is perhaps akin to handing out condoms to horny teens...it still doesn't WORK.

Meth is the dirty little secret nobody speaks of. Some of our worst criminal element are meth addicts...when it happens in your own, middle class backyard...it gets PERSONAL. Get ready for the meth lab near you... ugh.
~

21. Oscar the Grump:

"60 minutes just had a report on Mexico on tonight and it was pretty scary. 6300 people died in their drug wars last year. The government troops are outgunned and losing the war."
~

Maybe that's why law enforcement are buying up so many guns and ammo?

My prayers go out to the people living near the borders. I still can't believe those Illegal Mexicans are suing that Arizona farmer for protecting his own land. Disgusting.

One suggestion:

Talks at the highest level between Mexico (and other countries, of course) and the USA to crack down on corrupt officials.

Other suggestion/question:

Can US officials require a background check before accepting visas?

They can streamline methods among countries and agencies.

Talking to foreigners in their "own" language can filter the crooks.

Hi Yvonne,

Sure, we could grow pot at home. Its like this: today, we brew our own beer, bottle wine under our own label and even distill the harder stuff. Adding some pot to the mix shouldn't be an issue, should it? The government currently gives up taxing food made at home even though, when we purchase something at a store or restaurant, the government gets more revenue.

Ceding control, similarly, shouldn't be an issue. Its not like they're controlling it now ...

Some of our police are wonderful, too. A few bad apples doesn't destroy the barrel.
