Many more put downs of the author of this article, than of Dobbs. That Lou, the "only cry of reason of any kind from the arid wasteland that is CNN."

Obviously, Navarette has been and remains complicit in fostering slavery. One of those kapo wannabes.

Simply said, <b>the only reason to leave the borders open is to enslave more illegal immigrants</b>. But, it is a color-blind, non-gender discrimminating, racially-neutral and religiously tolerant capture process.

Providing any type of pro bono protections/ sanctuary/succor to illegal aliens (from anywhere) is tantamount to acting as a middleman in the slave trade. ALL compromises, from both sides of the political aisle are criminal. RICO-worthy. The two parties are mutually-corrupting, symbiotic in a scam...seemingly like forever.

One side is said to be influenced by the funding from "cheap labor" rent-seekers (aka slavemasters/paymasters) that is purportedly fundamentally at odds with the other side, funded by rent-seeking special interests, who'se major objective is "gaining votes" using as much taxpayer money as they can get (public funded slavemasters with slavetrading infrastructure). Online exchanges should serve both private and public auctions. Charity is not the motivation for either proponent.

Who's winning this political contest between Republicans opting for private, less-regulated slavetrade and the Democrats promoting State-sponsored totalitarian slavetrade on a grand scale? Both sides are telling US that State-controlled slave trading is mutually-exclusive with private control of the slave trade. Seem more like a fight about the splits.

So, a Hispanic or anyone from further south, wants to escape their conditions and get to US. Many pay the coyotes $15,000 to get them across; if they get across whole, they're delivered into to a life of fear and bondage. While their prospects may have improved enormously the moment they got over, by US standards they're automatically bleak.

So, we need an underclass? And, both parties are colluding in its creation? And, the only difference is the color of the coveralls? Tell me why again?

Why wouldn't we instead collect these bribes (<i>gonnabe illicit payments anyway</i>) at any Embassy walkup window, and grant temporary citizenship? Asylum? Ca-chinggggg.

It occurs to me that "market forces" ought price the cost and velocity of gaining entrance to Club US. Given the on-rushing worldwide trainwreck, aggregation of the best and brightest, risk-taking, productive types is a good thing. "All-in" legally.

Why actively support the <i>coyotes and their trade</i>, instead of disintermediating them? INS would be overwhelmed with cash-in-hand applicants, willing to pay market rates for the chance at a <i>new legal life</i> HERE.

Today tens, maybe hundreds of thousands pay criminal enterprises to enter the wrong-way <i>underground railroad</i> to US; betting everything in hopes they can beat the odds at surviving the trip intact, be bound into an environment of constant fear of detection/deportation and automatic underclass status and prosper. Vulnerable and underpaid certainly; but obviously way better off than back home. So they testify.

In US society, how much better the prospects of that immigrant who buys in, say even $5,000 to enter legally on a temporary permit, than one who paid that same $5K, got across alive, and is living here as an illegal alien?

What deficit? The lines would be miles long everywhere US has a consulate, embassy, field office, airport gate. Talk about a mass migration of talent.

The "moral" high ground on illegal immigration is <b>US won't tolerate slavery anywhere, ever</b>. Naturally, taking this absolute, rightious, but entirely un-PC stance would alter our international relations; eg, commissars, dictators, generals, juntas, mullahs, royals, warlords, pirates, terrorism-sponsors, druglords, gangs, et al.

What's lost by every compromise?

The first signal that Lou Dobbs is getting ready for a political career.
He should fit in with the rest of the liberals. It's to bad that not enough people in this country understands what the word illegal means. The PC of this is as inane as the thought of government control of health care.

Please, please, please, PJM. Read this latest bunch of nonsense from this Navarrette bozo. He should be on a victim group advocacy site, not PJM. He is just another colectivist with lots of jibber jabber about group identity politics. You are enabling this. Get rid of him!

As most of what I would say has already been stated, I'll briefly reiterate. I have never heard Lou Dobbs say anything critical of Hispanics or their culture on his show. Of course, I cannot look into the man's soul, so I don't know if he is the racist he is claimed to be. I have heard him complain loudly about illegal immigration to this country. To the best of my knowledge, while others in the media were complicit by referring to illegals simply as immigrants (omitting the descriptive adjective "illegal"), Mr. Dobbs called them what they were. It is a privilege to emigrate to this country and to become a legal citizen, not a right. As it happens, most of the illegal immigrants in this country (with the exception of President Obama's aunt...whatever happened to her anyway?) are Hispanic. Perhaps Mr. Navarette should look to that truth instead of having his sensibilities shocked. Americans have the right to secure borders. With both parties courting the Hispanic vote, that's unlikely to happen, though. It is also verifiably true that Mexico's immigration laws are ruthlessly enforced and it's southern border ruthlessly defended. Again, perhaps Mr. Navarette should hold his Hispanic brethren in equal measure of disdain.

Unsurprisingly, Navarrette provides nothing to prove his claim that Dobb's is racist or hostile to Hispanics.

Presenting no evidence whatsoever, he cites leftist tripe that Dobbs is responsible for hate crimes committed against Hispanics - as though he expects us to believe it just because he typed it.

Navarrette expects us to believe that Dobbs is a racist on the basis of a phone call that may or may not have happened. Further Dobbs' questioning of the Obama and Wright matter and Navarrette's sycophantic refusal to question that relationship speak volumes about Navarrette's orientation.

Obama attended a church for over 20 years that was founded upon Dr. James Cone's "Black Liberation Theology" of whom Wright was a close follower. Cone himself was quoted as saying that Wright's church most embodied his ideas. And what are those ideas? Here is but one easily found example:

"Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community ... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal."

Navarrette and his ilk certainly know of Wright's documented racism, yet he refuses to question Obama's relationship with his long-time mentor and condemns Dobbs for doing so. What does Navarrette have to fear?

A safe conclusion is that Navarrette has no problem with Cone's racist preachings and Obama's long-term voluntary exposure and absorption of same. Does Navarrette support Cone's hate of white people? I don't know, but it would be difficult to prove he does not.

There are racists in America still of course - and they come in all colors and races. However, America turned the corner in our internal battle with racists long ago and Navarrette and the other neo-racialists can't stand it.

Navarrette is but one of a large cadre of neo-racialist's in media and academia who make a living by continually tearing open the wounds of a racist past in America that otherwise were well on their way to healing.

Navarrette makes a living sadistically pouring salt in America's racial wounds. Truth or integrity are of no concern to him. Navarrette and host of politically-correct others are doing everything they can to prevent racial healing in order to continue to profit from the faux pain and irritation they themselves create in front of their keyboards and cameras.

Ruben Navarrette Jr. is a racist that happens to be Latino. Racists always use the race card to distort an argument to their own advantage.
If a massive group of U.S. citizens illegally immigrated into Mexico and were found out, they would be placed in Jail. This would happen not because of their race, but because they entered illegally. This is how a sovereign nation functions.
Now it seems that Lou Dobbs is willing to betray U.S. sovereignty to pander to a segment of possible voters for the sake of his new political career. This is bad news for the U.S.A.

Also don't assume every Latino is a liberal and/or buys into this stuff. These clowns who "speak for" Latinos are more interested in telling them how to think then finding out what they really think. A conservative message expressed directly will appeal to Hispanics, at least the ones that are here legally and have made America their home and want to see it governed well.
