Let’s Not Turn Immigration Into ‘Us vs. Them,’ Says President Suing a U.S. State Over Immigration Law
This is audacity on steroids. It is not the so-called, and now obviously dead as a Monty Python sketch parrot, “audacity of hope.”
“Let’s provide a pathway to citizenship for those who are already here, understanding that they broke the law, so they’re going to have to pay a fine and pay back taxes and, I think, learn English, make sure that they don’t have a criminal record,” said Obama. “There are some hoops that they’re going to have to jump through, but giving them a pathway is the right thing to do.
“Now, unfortunately, right now this is getting demagogued,” Obama said. “A lot of folks think it’s an easy way to score political points is by trying to act as if there’s a ‘them’ and an ‘us,’ instead of just an ‘us.’ And I’m always suspicious of politics that is dividing people instead of bringing them together. I think now is the time for us to come together.”
I’ll confess here to being a bad Baptist. My initial reaction to this was unprintable.
This is coming from the same president whose own attorney general is at this moment suing Arizona for crafting an immigration law that mirrors a federal law that’s been on the books for 70 years. And all while Mexico is playing more than a sideline role in keeping the border as porous as possible. “Us vs Them” or “Us vs Us”?
Suffice it to say that a president who has done precisely nothing about border security, whose own secretary of Homeland Security actually chuckles when Republican border state governors ask for help, and who himself refuses to meet with at least one of those border state governors to discuss the issue at all, has really run out of his rope on this. As if to add a little more salt to the wounds, let’s not leave out that Obama’s own aunt is an illegal alien happily living on the U.S. taxpayers’ dime, demanding U.S. citizenship.
This issue is an “Us vs Them” issue alright, but it’s Us citizen taxpayers versus Them in Washington who consistently and continually talk down to Us while letting the nation’s basic rule of law collapse.
So buck up, border states! Your president hears you. He hears you and he thinks you’re a bucktoothed bigot for wanting the nation’s laws enforced. And therefore, he’s happy to slap you in the face.
This is what we did in 1986. Give them a path to citizenship, install penalties for hiring illegals (I-9 form requiring valid ID before hiring), and a promise to seal the borders.
Well, we got the citizenship path working OK, and we made rules and instituted procedures & penalties for hiring illegals, but we failed to enforce those rules and impose those penalties and we STILL haven’t sealed the borders.
What makes The Won think we’ll trust the government to seal the border this time?
Hey Mr President, seal the border FIRST. Then we can figure out what to do with the 12 million we’ve let in since the last time we “fixed” the problem.
Would you mean first seal the border by finishing the “fence” and also by deporting existing criminals and or those caught here illegally first before you talk about amnesty or a “path” to becoming a citizen with the added caveat that they may not vote until they actually become a citizen that can at least speak the English language, and have been screened by a physician for diseases like tuberculosis or MRSA, yeah then I am for it, anything else is well…horseshit!

There was an old country song that said, ‘which part of “no” don’t you understand?’ The song continues into the age of audacity as ‘which part of “illegal” don’t you understand? Perhaps in the Messiah-Narcissistic mindset, the granting of ‘above the law’ status in return for bread, water, free medical care, and votes is an act of Christian duty, and the rest of us can donate to His favorite charity at bayonet/tax point. President Malware is doing a great job at dividing the country, insulting voters, spending future money, starting class warfare, growing government, and selectively enforcing the laws. His true believers are told to wait in awe for the great changes in the future.
Distrusting Obama is easy, avoiding the civil wars of his calling will be hard.
This is also a man who has repeatedly called anyone opposing his open borders policy “anti-immigrant.” It is a man whose surrogates have complained to such bastions of righteousness as Ecuador, China, and the UN Human Rights Council about the wicked Arizona law —a law neither he nor his attorney general even read before pronouncing it bigoted.
The Arizona law is, in fact, milder than the laws in California (not enforced) or in Rhode Island (vigorously enforced.) But CA and RI are solidly blue states that just don’t fit the profile for a propaganda cartoon. Besides, the timing of the Arizona law is perfect for trying to whip up the paranoid sector of the Hispanic vote for the midterms, in other words, to demagogue the issue with an us-vs.-them mantra.
Obama is shameless.
Well the good thing here is that most people have figured him out as to what he is if not just a liar! His words are now only preaching to the small choir that is left and I suspect they are dropping out of the choir in droves!
This isn’t about citizenship; most of the illegals aren’t interested in being a citizen of the US; their loyalty is to their Spanish heritage and their family, not to the history and Constitution of the USA. Think about ‘Little Havana’ in Florida.
These illegals want what Mexico has deliberately refused to provide for them, for its lowest class, those who are unskilled, uneducated. Mexico does not provide an infrastructure for this class; no education, no health care, hospitals, roads, jobs – nothing. Instead, it fobs off this class to the US citizens…who provide the jobs, the schools, the hospitals. All of which these illegals pay – zilch.
Instead, the illegals, who pay no taxes, send billions, yes, that’s right, billions back to support their impoverished relatives back in Mexico.
Who wins? Mexico. Its economic and societal infrastructure gets off the entire cost of this class – and, heh, gets income from the US as well, to support the relatives left in Mexico. No need for welfare from Mexico to support them!
It has nothing to do with immigration; if these people wanted to immigrate they could do what legal applicants do – apply. They won’t, because, first, they have no skills. And second, it is actually financially better for them NOT to come in as a legal worker – because that same legal worker would have to pay taxes; would have to pay school taxes, hospital taxes.
But this way, as an illegal, they get ALL the services of the US. Free. And send billions back home to support their relatives.
They win. Mexico wins. The USA taxpayer loses big time.
Now, isn’t it interesting that Obama totally ignores this reality and instead, moves into the ‘guilt trip’ tactic. Remember that tactic? It’s one of Obama’s most common manipulative tactics. He tells you that if you dissent and criticize, then, you are doing so because you are biased. There’s something wrong with you – if you criticize illegals.
Like his constant references to his ‘race’, to his ‘not looking like the guys on the American dollar bill’. That’s to shut you up and prevent you from criticizing or examining him and his policies. It’s pure manipulation, to make you feel emotionally frozen, hapless in your ignorant bias….such that you cannot confront Obama with reality, the truth about what these illegals are really, economically, doing here in the US.
Right on, about the ‘refugees’ in Miami. They have helped support the Castro Regime with all the money they’ve sent to Cuba over the years. The greenback is the preferred currency in Cuba.

obama is undermining the rule of law in America by encouraging selective enforcement of laws. He’s punishing certain groups, like the American citizens of Arizona, while rewarding illegal immigrants who are breaking the law every minute they’re in this country, simply because they’ve entered the US illegally.
By undermining the laws in this country, obama is encouraging anarchy and chaos, which is probably what he had in mind all along. This man must be impeached for high crimes, misdemeanors, and treason. Hopefully this will happen after the Republicans take control of Congress this fall. However, I don’t have high hopes for the Republicans to do anything that requires balls.

I am not a linguist, but if you are in America illegally, and hence an illegal alien haven’t you already committed a crime?
Does that mean that some crimes will stand in the way of citizenship and some will not?
Do we need to define what ‘crime’ means? Or is it a matter of degrees? Misdemeanors are okay but felonies are not?

Have you heard of the new textbooks that have scrubbed the word “American” as it applies to people? They instead use the word “people who live in the United States”. I believe we are literally at that crossroads. The American people are flat fed up with government screwing us over every chance they get and they are ready to do something about it one way or another. If that means watering the tree of liberty with the blood of tyrants and patriots, sobeit. IT MUST happen. Like a dam about to burst (or perhaps an aneurysm?) the country can no longer hold back the anger. Among the primary duties of a President is to safegurad the nation’s borders and maintain the sovereignty of government on our own soil. (Arguably it is the first duty.) This is why he is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces and the executive presiding over federal law enforcement agencies such as ICE, the DEA, the FBI, and Homeland security.
However Mr. Obama has proven inadequate to this task. It isn’t due to lack of resources or the lack of workable plans. Rather, one must suspect, it is because Mr. Obama rejects the entire idea of an American “sovereignty” and therefore those actions that are necessary to maintain it. He has been raised from birth within an ideological framework that states the U.S. to be an historically rapacious and exploitive nation. It is quite clear that he loathes the prospect of having to project even the most modest appearance of force in defense of traditional concepts of national security. He is particularly opposed to doing this against any group that has has been annointed by the media with accredited “victimhood” status and which is making “historical claims” against the U.S.A.
