Latinos and Blacks Share Frustration Over Obama
President Obama is healing a racial divide by bringing together Latinos and African-Americans — America’s largest minority and the group formerly known as such.
It’s just not in the way that anyone would have imagined.
Obama is unifying the two minority groups, which together account for almost 90 million Americans and nearly 30 percent of the U.S. population, in a sense of shared disillusionment.
To be clear, majorities of both communities still approve of the job that Obama is doing as president. A Gallup poll released last month found that 85 percent of African-Americans and 54 percent of Latinos applaud Obama’s job performance.
But both those percentages are down from what they were in previous months. So much so that they either set or tied new lows. For various reasons, there are many disappointed people in these two communities that tend to give Obama high marks.
First, why do you suppose these two groups need to be brought together in the first place? And if there is tension between them, where does it come from?
The answer depends on whom you ask.
Many African-Americans resent that Latinos are growing in number and crowding them out of jobs and neighborhoods. They complain that the attention that goes to Latino buying power or Latino voting power isn’t going to African-Americans. And they claim that Latinos are “piggy-backing” on centuries worth of civil rights struggles and protests by African-Americans, and think themselves entitled to rights and benefits that came from battles fought and won by someone else.
Meanwhile, many Latinos complain that African-Americans accuse them of taking jobs that African-Americans — and other Americans — won’t do. They find it irritating that African-Americans blame Latinos for their troubles and shortcomings rather than take responsibility for their own lives. And they resent that African-Americans — in an attempt to preserve whatever influence they have — continue to perpetuate the idea that diversity is an issue of black and white.
The demographics aren’t in dispute. According to the 2010 Census, Latinos are the largest minority in more than half of the largest cities in the United States, outnumbering African-Americans in the country’s urban centers. This is the new color scheme in 191 of 366 metropolitan areas. In the nation as a whole, Latinos have outnumbered African-Americans since 2003 — seven years faster than demographers predicted.

No illegal is “taking” a job. We citizens are GIVING them jobs. And therein lies the bulk of the blame.

But it comes down to the willingness to work. My son never has a problem finding a job. Because he is “hispanic” it is assumed he will work hard, and since it is assumed he is “illegal”, he won’t sue them if he is fired for bad job performance. In contrast, a lot of employers hesitate to hire a black, who if they fire them for shoddy work will sue them for discrimination
This, of course, leads to covert discrimination against blacks, the exact opposite effect of what those passing these laws planned.
However, when my son once told an employer that legally overtime work should be paid with a higher wage, he was threatened with being reported to immigration.
The dirty little secret is that a lot of folks hire “illegals” because they are paid cash: NO benefits, no taxes, no accounting fees etc. They have no union to protect their right not to be exploited.
But no one wants to discuss these things out of political correctness.
Hispanics, legal and illegal, reproduce at a much faster rate than blacks, and murder their unborn children at a much lower rate. In the not too distant future hispanics will be the majority in the USA.They will then control the political process, if some vestige of the constitution still remains in effect.
More likely they will constitute the majority oppressed by the International Islamic Jihad, an entity about whose existence most of us are still in denial.
Our problem is not just the bus boy we hired to manage the Hilton chain,but the collocation of depraved, insane, retarded, criminal, dead and ficticious persons who voted it into office.(Yes, “it” is neuter). Is one alternative more attractive than the other?
The same people who were seduced by Obama then are still for the most part seduced by him now. Those are the people who do terrible when ‘Jeopardy’ comes on television. The 2012 election will be determined by the largest voting bloc, women. If the GOP nominates another white haired crank with jowls, the women’s vote goes to Obama. Newt Gingrich has no chance; nor do some of the other GOP hopeful hopeless’, because of their lack of sex appeal to the ‘American Idol’ and ‘Dancing With The Stars’ audiences, women. Why the commentariat devotes its analysis to the calculus of racial demographics and ignores the most salient and simple arithmetic of how women vote, is puzzling. Most blacks will vote fo Obama because he is black and Democrat. The Hispanic vote is pretty much like the white vote, it can be won, by winning the women.
Women need to look at all the unemployed men around them.

Barack Obama is the victim of his own success in that he has played the race card so often that even his failures are becoming apparent to the American African American community. Even the Latinos are coming to understand that Barack Obama will only come to them when he wants their vote, otherwise all they are good for is race baiting.
The African American community still suffers from atrocious schools, astronomically high unemployment, and community dysfunction and Barack Obama has done nothing concrete to ease these problems. It’s all very well for the Boy Wonder President to mouth meaningless self help platitudes and to send his wife out to chant slogans and dance with the kids, but American Blacks want solutions from Obama. Actually so does the rest of America, and I would hasten to add, most of the free world, and all Obama seems able to do is blame his predecssor, claim there is no magic solution, that everything will take time, and then Obama goes on vacation, tosses some hoops, hits the greens, flies up to see Oprah, and then complains he has no time to himself.

Obama is supporting the “Rebels”, better known as the Shiite-dominated Muslim Brotherhood. Loook at how he ushers in quick elections where only the Muslim Brotherhood can win using U. S. dollars. His escalation of our involvement in Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain, Syria, Tunisia and now Pakistan, which are all Sunni led governments, is in direct contrast to Obama pulling out of Iraq and ignoring Iran (both Shiite). Now the Israelis will be fully exposed to barbarian elements as never before, and Barack Hussein Obama will, with our help, destroy Israel. The execution-style killing of Osama Bin Laden (a radicalized Sunni) and family was begin the dismantling of Pakistan, not the U.S. murder of 3,000 civilians (very clever). Obama’s administration pays the Muslim Brotherhood as advisors and are on the payroll of the United States. Aren’t they the ones in the streets of Egypt who denounced the United States and Israel with statements such as, “Death to America. and death to Israel”? Obama is obviously a radicalized Shiite terrorist in the White House, as he meets and consults with Muslim Brotherhood radical Imam Shiites but will not meet with U.S. allies.
Obama further supports his Muslim brethren by keeping U.S. energy dependent on Muslim oil by shutting down our coal production, refusing to allow Gulf drilling by US companies, yet twice has financed Brazil’s Petrobras with our tax dollars (George Soros, Obama’s benefactor and owner of 14% of Petrobras, hates Israel ) for deeper water drilling than the Gulf and contracting Petrobras to drill in our own Gulf when disallowing the same of U.S companies. He is systematically destroying the U.S. through unnecessary spending while he lays the groundwork for a global Shiite caliphate . Obama makes the Shiites appear less hostile calling them “Rebels” as the United States is forced fight on their side. The truth is that the Sunnis have been Israel’s protectors. Obama hates Israel as do all Shiites. His goal is to annihilate Israel and use United States’ money and blood to bring a global Shiite caliphate into being. Are we using our best and bravest resources along with all of our money to rendered us destitute (powerless) to build Obama’s Shiite Caliphate throughout the United States and the world? The problems in the black community are social problems, not federal. It is not Obama’s jurisdiction to force black folks to stay in school, stop having kids out of wedlock, and avoid committing crimes against each other.
Everytime I hear a story about how Latinos are taking jobs from Blacks, I think of a punch line from the Latino comic Carlos Mencia. “Let me see when you went into the job interview against the illegal alien and you were the only one who spoke english, just what do you attribute the loss of the job to again?”
It wasn’t long after “black power” replaced the civil rights mantra of “non-violent resistance” that blacks lost their “most-favored minority” status with liberals. Wouldn’t accept the liberals’ largess, their pity, and the pittance that they were thrown. Ingrates.

In the year 1776 the percentage of the US population that was Black was 20%. In 1900 the percentage of the Black population that was Black was 20%. In 1965 the percentage of the US population that was Black was 20%. In 1973 the heavily pro choice Democratic caucus got Rowe vs Wade through the Supreme Court to allow all states to legalize abortion.
Since then Planned Parenthood has become a covertly subsidized but subsidized none the less operational arm of the Democratic establishment and the US Government.
In 2011 the Black population is 12% of the US population. With friends like the Democrats and the numerous race mongers among their own leaders, the Black community doesn’t need any other enemies.
Try to explain that covert self-service genocide to the average black person. I tried and the response was so obtuse that I am beginning to think that American blacks are going to go the way of the dodo bird.

Most of them don’t even know what a Dixiecrat was. They don’t even suspect that MLK and Lincoln were Republicans. Most will vote for anything with black skin BUT NOT for a Conservative because black conservatives are “Uncle Tom” blacks.

I never understand why African-Americans always vote Democratic. What really has the Democratic Party done for African-Americans? The public schools are still bad, unemployment in African-American communities is horrible, and the job prospects for a young African-American are even worse. Add to that a major drop-out rate among African-Americans from schools plus the growing poverty in African American communities, and tell me, why are they STILL married to the Democratic Party?
The Democrats pay lip service to African-Americans and only give them enough welfare and government handouts to keep them going until the next election. That is not real “change,” like Obama kept whining about in 2008. Real change is a job, a good job, not some useless union job that pays you for a few month’s work and then you’re unemployed again. Growing the economy and our manufacturing base is the only thing that will help African-Americans, not more Obama/Reid handouts and welfare that will only maintain the status quo in African-American communities. In 2012, they should vote for real change and vote Republican. At least under the Bush administration, African-Americans had more jobs and had more opportunities than they have now. Perhaps under a new Republican president, they will have those same opportunities they had four years ago. Anything would be better than what we have right now.
Why do Blacks vote for Democrats well for a start the left wing moonbats who infest Academia are always teaching them that its wicked conservatives who were the Slave Masters when really it was the Jim Crow KKK Democrats who were to blame. The problem is the culture in our own black communities, which simply does not value education. Black parents read to their kids less, attend PTA meetings less, etc … All these choices will be reflected in their child’s test scores.
I don’t disagree at all. Many of the immigrants from the Carribean and from Africa are here because they are extremely intelligent and or talented in other ways as well. It is quite natural that like many of the peoples of the world they would be attracked to becoming part of the meriotracy of the US. I in no way want to imply that Blacks are not smart, obviously they are, it is just that population groups have different ability levels and to try and get a kid with an 84 IQ to be prepared to become an engineer isn’t going to work. To claim that a group of children with an average IQ of 84 are going to go to college is cruel and counterproductive to the education of the child. I am not frustrated at Obama, I NEVER based any expectation on him in the first place. In second place, everything I was expecting from a socialist tyrant like Obama has been fullfilled, so, what’s the frustration?
My only frustration is when people starts discussing stupid things (like if I am latino, and therefore frustrated) instead of discussing the real thing: Rights and Freedom. Why on Earth a latin person is or should be entitle to different rights with special laws and quotes is beyond me. There is no need to brings groups together, there is no need to classify people by groups in the first place, not if we are talking about Rule of Law.

I would urge the Blacks and Latinos to heed the advice of JFK: “Ask not what your country can do for you; rather, ask what you can do for your country.”
I am growing weary and angry over these illegal aliens demanding rights to which they are not entitled nor deserve while this government keeps increasing the taxes necessary to pay for services provided to people who have no right to be in this country.
I am also growing weary of the hypocrisy of Americans who want cheap labor while balking at paying taxes for the extra services that labor needs. It’s time we started addressing our own part in the situation. We can’t have it both ways.

Moderate (establishment) Republicans love the cheap labor and do not care about the costs. Conservative Republicans do not love the cheap labor (drives down wages), do not love the cost to society, and do not love the Democrats-in-Republican-clothes Moderates. The animosity is reciprocated.

When I was a student, a professor gave our creative writing class an assignment to write in the manner of Mark Twain. The best creations learned not only to “speak in his voice”, but also to “think with his brain”. It was not merely the word choice and inflection, intonation, grammar…it was WHY he chose those words.
I think it would be fascinating as an exercise to write comments in the manner of Ruben Navarrette. Only a couple of rules. You have to change the “brand identity” of any reference to “Latinos” or “Hispanics”. And, you have to change the “brand identity” of conservatives/Republicans.
That is, whenever Ruben would mention one of the above groups, in YOUR essay…they must be changed to something else.

When you can’t compete on a level playing field, you have to make excuses and ask for handouts. Mr. Navarrette’s theses seems to be (a) that Blacks and Hispanics are to some unfortunate degree not uniform in their loyalty to President Obama because of their senses that he has been tardy in giving them the special treatments they have come to believe they uniquely deserve, (b) that Blacks are coming to resent what they consider to be the excessive attention paid to Hispanics rather than to themselves and (c) that Blacks and Hispanics are neither one nor even two homogeneous groups. These may indeed be problems for President Obama — but not for the country.
It is a problem for the country when some racial/ethnic groups are granted opportunities not afforded all others. Some opportunities are within the province of the government to bestow, some are not. The government cannot bestow athletic ability on those lacking it, nor can it give native intelligence or generally pleasing appearances to those without them. Nor can the government properly enforce its laws as to some but not as to others. The country has unfortunately been moving away from its sense of equality of society-provided opportunity toward a sense that equality of result is what’s important. The more we move in that direction, the more divided the country will become.

The cultures of these countries all have much in common, including looking for a great ‘leader’ to solve their problems, rather than seeking freedom to solve their own problems. They are all desperately poor, lacking in infrastructure, any semblance of a rule of law, and corrupt with thriving black markets. The gangs of drug lords rule much of these regions, often under the radar of public scrutiny until they have wars like currently along the border of Mexico, where 34,000 people have been murdered so far. It isn’t surprising these people have no respect for the legal system or the culture of self-reliance in the US. PBS is showing a series “Black in Latin America”. I haven’t watched all the chapters yet but there are plenty of errors and misconceptions in it. Two that I caught: Jose de San Martin is presented as white. He was half Spaniard and half Guarani and there is plenty of proof for that. The “Little Republics” like that of Zumbí, one of the first, if not the first, egalitarian, democratic African societies in the Americas (Brazil) is hardly mentioned (may be they looked too Conservative, militaristic, and private-property leaning for PBS’ taste?) DON’T go there for information on the black history and present reality of Latin America.
There are plenty of good books to read and many are written by black scholars who know what they are writing about. “Professor Gates” should finish his education in Latin American affairs before posting his pamphlet on TV.
I suppose the increasing percentage of the population that is hispanic will not tolerate accusations of racism for every ill that afflicts the black community. That should be interesting.

I’m an American of European ancestry, white collar-type employment and was living in Santa Barbara County in a location smack dab in the middle of wine, fruit and vegetable country.
I took 1 weeks vacation time from work and went to a location where you ‘show up’ for work. I was told to come back the next day, if I’d be interested in earning a few extra bucks if I wanted to use my vehicle as transport for other pickers etc.,
I came prepared with my lunch, 1 full nalgene bottle, a full Camelbak bladder of water as well and an Indiana Jones-like hat with sunblock at hand.
I’d driven in the city paid for (i.e. legal American tax dollars) van with A/C with other workers, all illegal and who’d spoken no English to the work site some 10 miles away (BTW, these very same vans pick up/srop off the regular pickers FROM THEIR RESIDENCE for $2 bucks a day. Better/cheaper than public transit, eh?).
I wasn’t spoken to all week. The usual lunch of ~ 9 out of 10 workers? The roach coach providing greasy, overpriced garbage. These same workers had little/no water. MANY reaked of booze, stale beer and other fatty/starchy/little-no protein type foods Mexican food is infamous for.
‘$4.75 an hour’? Whaaa? I made the LEAST of the other workers, for being new, and made $8.00 an hour. All of which was paid in cash which I’d given to the the local Sheriff’s Department (it would’ve gone to the city cops but they don’t do jack s hit against illegals, even though the very same city ‘boasts’ of having the most hit n’ runs IN THE COUNTRY! ‘Reassuring’ if you have teens or your spouse driving at night in Northern Santa Barbara County, right? )

I believe you. But you got my words wrong. I don’t believe in illegal immigration. I have seen 17 families living in a barn in Albemarle Co. Virginia. That was not a pretty sight. The flourishing American economy is all you need to keep illegals home. Why? Because for every dollar that the US makes, Mexico makes 30 or 40 cents automatically just for being our neighbor, i.e. more vacationers, more US companies buying Mexican exports, etc. I don’t know if employers in California prefer a drunk and stinky Mexican to a sober, clean white American. If you were a Mexican trapped in a country ruled by fools and crooks and someone offers you real money 200 miles to the north… you’d cross the river too. The Big 3 automakers has shown huge profits for the first time in over 5 years and are paying the money back, regardless of how pundits try to twist things.
2) Saved the mortgage industry from a total collapse with bailout stimulus loan from the Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009 to mortgage banks, raising a tax credit from $6,000 to just $8,000 for first time home buyers, and lowering the mortgage interest rates. We are not hearing massive foreclosures on weekly bases now as we did in 2007-2008, during Bush’s last 2 years of office.
3) Passing Health Care Reform, Credit Card Reform Act, Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, and the financial regulatory reform to avoid another economic collapse.
4) When Obama took office from Bush, the Dow Jones Industrial Average hit bottom at 6,547 at one point and the NASDAQ was at 1,036. Today, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is at 12,597 and the NASDAQ is at 2,834 due to the Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009, which the majority of the large mortgage banks are now paying back.
5) Got BP to commit to paying back $20 billion to all the devastated Gulf communities for the Gulf oil spill.
6) The last U.S. combat brigade had left Iraq as promised by Obama, after 7 years and over $700 billion spent on this war.
7) Campaigned in 2008 that he would use the “scalpel” rather than a “hammer” to defeat Al Qaida and capture or kill Osama Bin Laden. Rather than sending in hundreds of thousands of our troops to Afghanistan to risk their lives and capture or kill Osama Bin Laden like a “hammer”, he opted in surgical and tactical strikes with the use of predator drones and special ops to target Osama Bin Laden and his top officials like a “scalpel”. This strategy has proven effective since our predator drones have killed numerous of top Al Qaida officials in the past 2 years. Now President Obama, our intelligence officials, and special ops have finally pin-pointed and killed Osama Bin Laden after a decade of looking for him.
People must realize this clearly, Obama took over the Presidency at a worse time than Reagan or Clinton did. Reagan took over a bad economy from Carter but there were not 2 wars, Big 3 automakers collapse, and mortgage industry collapse. Clinton took over a bad economy from Bush Sr. without the same problems. Obama took over the Presidency with a total economic meltdown plus 2 simultaneous wars. So people, you be the judge.

1) Did not “save” the “Big 3 automakers”. Ford got no bailout money, so they had to compete against government subsidized others. GM and Chrysler are still messes. To take them over, he flouted the law and pushed out the senior creditors. He gave their money to his union buddies. This should have been handled in bankruptcy court. All he managed to do was push back the day of reckoning. They are still hemorrhaging money.
2) Mortgage foreclosures are still happening massively on a weekly basis. They just do not talk about it. Home values are still declining. 27% of homeowners are now underwater, with no bottom in sight. Nice job, Obama!
3) Health care reform? Oh. ObamaCare. “Are you serious? Are you serious?” What a disaster. Financial regulatory reform? Nothing has changed at all. They did not put back in the parts of Glass-Steagall which were gutted in the 90′s. Credit card reform was so that it became harder to declare bankruptcy. Don’t even talk to me about Lily Ledbetter. The Supreme Court ruled against her for a good reason.
4) When he took office, the DOW was already on the way back up. It bottomed out before he took office. It would have recovered far faster, if he had simply not interfered so much. A “majority” of major banks have repaid? They have not all repaid yet? Oops. I guess not. Some of them are still in major trouble. How about their competitors who did things right and did not need bailouts? They have to compete with subsidized banks. Helping them out is a bug, not a feature.
5) The BP money was a sweet deal. For BP. And for Obama. He got a slush fund with no paper trail. (Can anyone tell me where that money went?) BP got their losses limited. The Gulf got screwed. But hey, they are Red States, so who cares, right?
6) Iraq was a done deal before Obama took over. December ’08 had zero combat losses. The war for us was over at that point. Then it was phased withdrawal.
7) Obama added about 35k(?) troops to Afghanistan. He ramped up all the efforts the Bush administration was making. He could do so, because Iraq was basically done.
When Reagan took office, the economy was far worse. We had a war with Iran. They had occupied our embassy, legally US soil. It was not called a war, because Carter would not fight. It was resolved with Reagan’s taking of office. One hour after he was sworn in, the hostages were freed. Some Presidents do not have to fight to win.
Then there was the Cold War. It actually WAS a war. We mobilized for it. We ramped up spending for it. We sponsored proxy fights. So, yes, there were 2 wars on when Reagan took office. He just kept them from being hot wars, which means he did a far better job handling the situation.
Mortgages? Did you even live through the 70′s? What mortgages. A home loan was at 18%! Credit cards were 29%! What mortgages?
Automakers? EVERYTHING was struggling. It was horrible. We are heading back to it now. You’ll see just how bad it was. Our credit is downgraded. Inflation is starting to skyrocket. Interest rates rising. Gold is WAY up. The dollar is WAY down. McJobs are up. Government jobs are up. Real jobs are down. Men who do the hard work cannot get jobs. Teens cannot get started. College grads cannot get jobs. By next year, you will get a real taste of the 70′s.
So, my judgment is that government is up and the people are down. Obama is truly awful.

We have to look at this seriously and communicate to the good people of this country what the real situation is. If the GOP continues fumbling, if we select another Bob Dole because “he deserves his chance” the creep gets re-elected and he may even have some coattail seats in the House and Senate.
I am satisfied that the DP is nothing but perverts, crooks, and fools that lie all the time. We need a communicator that can get the message across because I can assure you that if the American public gets to understand how bad things are even FDR will come out of his grave and vote Republican.
But if we behave the way we are behaving, if lightweights like Hannity, Limbaugh, and Beck are setting the tone of the conversation in the media… if even Gingrich has developed a notion that he may have a chance… oh boy! I can see four more years of hopie-dopie coming down the line.

Today’s politican have NO allegiance nor scrupels to their constituents, their pie-in-the-sky promises and putting America on a better path. For they haven’t the intelligence, tenacity or grit to say, do the right things. Why else would the Reid’s, Snowe’s, Kerry’s, McCain’s etc., continue being reelected time and time again? And I’m only speaking of some Senators.. this goes all the way down to the dudley-do-nothings in each of our City Council’s, respectively.
Sadly, the reason I believe this occurs is because a majority of the voting citizenry have a combination of the following: Low expectation, lethargy, indifference/unable to research and understand the very issues effecting them (how many senior citizens did you see at the polling places & townhall meetings WNATING ObamaCare?!?) and disappointingly.. are not very intelligent (mask it with cynicism) when it comes to the political arena. I’m one of maybe 3 people I know who tunes into C-SPAN regularly.
Now I’m no elitist nor possess more gray matter, but believe I honestly care more for mine and family’s future 1, 5, 50 years from now. And use unrefutable facts and science available at the moment (don’t worry, Im no AGW believer) in my day-to-day decisions.
I’ve written former Congressman JC Watts to get back in the game. As well as being fortunate to have spoken with Senator Jim DeMint and tell him to kick the RINO’s and ‘I’m proud to cross the aisle..’ losers and stand firm. A ‘damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead’ kind of mantra. Though as I said initially, most Republican/Conservative Independents/Libertarians haven’t the stones to take one or more on the chin.
As for the FOXNEWS and other talking heads, I don’t have a television so their doublespeak is moot.

I live in a Texas city in which 95% of the population is hispanic.The prominent, educated hispanics of my acquaintance do not identify with RN. If his name comes up in conversation they hasten to say,”But he is not one of us- he is from Puerto Rico, and we are Mexicans.” They are ashamed of his racist postures and distance themselves from him. Me, too. After all, what sort of Caballero would threaten to spit on the beautiful, virtuous and brilliant Mrs. Michelle Malkin?
It is so VERY important that we QUIT looking at groups –individuals built this great country. So many of you need to go live in another country for awhile!
Also, what are individuals going to do when our national debt (nearly doubled since Obama took office!) causes us to lose our triple A rating AND our currency is no longer the world standard so no matter how much the FED prints we can’t buy groceries? That’s a good idea. I have lived in other countries and I can attest that Americans have so much that they don’t even know they have. Now, some people are so poor that the only thing they have is money. That is not the case with our great country. We have been given a brotherhood of ideas: liberty for all, equality before the law. We have been given the ingenuity, talent, character and guts that built the greatest system of commerce the world has ever known. We have been given the fortitude of fighting tyranny and oppression in distant lands, sacrificing our young for the advance of freedom. We still taste daily the ingratitude of those we liberated yesterday at great cost of blood and treasure. We have lived and survived through so many crises. If we could only rise above the pettiness and stupidity of those ancient tribal rivalries and conquer ourselves like we conquered so many other things! What a formidable race we shall be when we get to know ourselves and measure up to the ideals that inspired our Founding Fathers. The body is sick and going through the delirium of Liberalism. I believe this too shall pass and we and the world will be cured once and for all. That may be the best gift that America can give to mankind: the defeat of the Liberal Delusion that will open the gates of freedom and prosperity for the whole world.
Well, where I live, I know the hispanics are hard workers. The blacks are lazy and expect handouts….poor me. They destroy everything in their path.
I have worked with Mexicans and black Americans. In forty plus years of work I have accumulated some experience on the subject. One curious thing is that working black American ladies are quite superior to their male counterparts when it comes to keeping a job, being respectful, learning, striving for excellence at what they do. As for black men they seem to get better as they get older. I can’t believe that they are naturally lazy or stupid, I know too many black men that are very smart and have made it in life without receiving any perks or handouts. But isn’t it also true that the mentality of entitlement cultivated by Liberalism has killed the initiative and the very soul of many black communities? Could we produce a Duke Ellington today with what we have? I doubt it.
Think of this: of the many things produced by American culture there is one that is at the same time American and universal. That is all the music that we group together under the name “Jazz.” I believe that is perhaps the great American contribution to the culture of the world. Jazz is not 100% a black invention but it comes pretty close. Surprisingly enough the great figures of jazz through the decades seem to come from the despised minority of each time: blacks, Jews, Irish, Italians. It is so American and then it is so black American at the same time. May be there is something to be discovered there that can help us heal the wound of slavery and racism. I wish I had more of a clear idea to offer but I can’t quite disregard the same social group that gave us Ellington, Parker, Monk, Waller and then so many others like Thomas Sowell and his amazing insights. The experience of black America is for me one of the showcases of the awesome destructive power of the ideas of Liberalism. It is sad that nearly half the country has been convinced to adopt that ideology of self destruction.
The black problem can not be fixed by other then the blacks. Most that claim to be helping them are usually just using them.
Blacks have to recognize the problem and then deal with it, no one that has someone else fixing their problems gets anywhere.
Barak Obama is compromising? With whom? Not whites.
