Unfortunately the Slavs are too peaceful and many are not good at proper war strategy, "total war" etc. they do not have the right disposition for it, the Balkans has become a set of fragmented states it is like a shattered limb of the Slav Body of Christ (Church Militant).

To all the above. Sadly all I have been reading is one side against the other. This is extremely upsetting because I am ethnically Kosovar, yes I said it Kosovar. Through out the years of my life I have dedicated it to understanding each aspect of the Balkans and not just my own country and people's views. This is because it is all bias and all propaganda. The thing is there is no clear enemy within the Balkan,s because we are all our own enemy by not learning to cooperate with one another. The Balkans is a treasure in Europe, but everyone is helping to destroy it by not considering the wealth within it. Today the Balkans is full of corruption and here we are still fighting over Kosovo. Well I have read history, and in the end it is much better that Kosovo will be independant because otherwise Serbia and Kosovo will continue to have disputes on every aspect within the country. Also any of you who are Serbs here, have you visited Kosovo? I have been there 14 times in my life, including 4 times this year alone. I travelall over the Balkans to do research on my work. Hopefully after college and law school i can go back to help not just improve my country, but relations within the Balkans. I still have some hope for my land and can speak both Albanian as well as Serbo-Croatian fluently. Personally our future lays within you all moving on and learning to respect one another. We have seen the bloodshed for too long on every side, and in the end WE ARE NEIGHBORS if we like it or not. If I can have a good friend who is Serbian and peacefully talk about politics with Ogi and Ana, you can all do the same. We need to realize the culture of our region is beautiful and lets not continue to destroy it. I mean we dont need to love each other tomorrow, but work towards relations. We are our own enemy but wecan prevent ourselves from being the puppet of the West and East. If the Balkans stayed separate countries they should learn to work together. Why not create a wealthy Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia, Kosovo, etc. rather than continue to destroy and hate one another. Respect your history, but do not let it hinder future excellence

I read a few of the comments, they are funny lol..just face it everyone...it was a War, no one has the right to take a live of someone that is innocent, nor an albanian, serb, bosnian or whatever they are. But what Milsovic did was completly wrong. If you listend to peoples story, they are completly wrong, they used to rape girls in front of theri families, they killed people but also took their ears, noses, eyes. and etc... off.Even if they killed those people they still continued to do really bad things to their body..SO PLEASE CAN WE GET REAL AND THINK HOW WE WOULD LIKE IT IF THAT HAPPEND TO OUR LOVED ONES..ITS VERY EASY TO SIT AROUND AND MAKE JUDGMENT FOR EVERYONE AND SAYING NOW THEY GOING TO DO THIS AND THAT AND SO ON..BUT NOW ONE CAN KNOW WHAT DIFFICULT SITUATIONS THEY HAE BEEN IN.

I think that the ordinary Serbian is in fact barely interested in Kosovo, unless you specifically stimulate him. The problem of Kosovo is that the reality was long ago replaced by a mythical story that seeks no confirmation in reality. Serbians rarely travel to Kosovo. They barely know it, and when they talk about it they take their conclusions from a fund of myths that compensates for the lack of information on what is actually happening there. This irrationality had greatly invaded everyday speech in the months before the proclamation of independence, when the whole political scene was insisting that this would never happen, because Kosovo was part of Serbia. These stories never referred to the fact that over ninety per cent of the population living there are Albanians who refuse to accept the future that Serbia has planned for them. I would say that the average citizen remains to be acquainted with Kosovo.

As for the Albanian origin - only one country and her language has the consonant clusters such as SCHQ, TSHQ, etc - Azerbaijan, and only two nations use them in their language - Albanians and a tribe in Azerbaijan... Look at their own name, the name they call themselves - Shqiptar ! They have no connection to the pre-Serbian population on the Balkans... They came from Azerbaijan, summoned by the Byzantine Emperor, as mercenaries. First they settled on Sardinia and afterwards they came to the Balkans, in 10th century. Their leader was called Maniak - the word maniac originates from his name - and when you see or hear about the Albanian atrocities, it is easy to get the real picture... Americans ran some DNA tests on the Albanian population and came to an interesting conclusion - they are a mixture of Asian and African predecessors... Some Illirians...
