Recounting an anecdote, Panahian said:

Imam Sadegh once declared that those “who think that our Mahdi will just emerge in some miraculous form, and that everything has been set up and organized for him to appear and take over, are wrong.” First, it is natural that the Mahdi will go to war, but this war needs to be primed. The prelude cannot be that an Islamic Republic is already established, but that the Islamic Republic must create an international infrastructure.

This means that the groundwork must be laid for the people of the world to be enlightened. It is true that we are the source of all revolutions, but now the source needs to create a ripple effect. This is the path that has been taken and there is no turning back; no one can recoil now as every single person is responsible for the emergence [of the Mahdi].

Ever since the Iranian Revolution, the radicals ruling Iran have been actively promoting their agenda throughout the Middle East. Now, with the latest uprisings in the region, they are encouraged by the possibility that U.S.-backed governments will be overthrown and the unification of all Muslims will be brought about. This in turn will create the atmosphere for the destruction of Israel and the necessary circumstances for the Islamic rule of the world — a caliphate.

They believe the current crises in Egypt, Bahrain, Libya, Yemen, Syria, Tunisia, and other countries are but a harbinger to the promised coming of Imam Mahdi, the Shiites’ Twelfth Imam. The revelations in the newly released Iranian documentary — The Coming is Upon Us — clearly outline the agenda of the Iranian leaders and their plan for the region and the world.
