Yup, time and news week come to mind, opinion magazines passing themselves off as fact reporters. It’s good to know when it comes to the tale of two cultures inhabiting one island, Haiti and the Dominican Republic, Haiti’s poverty is all about geography and those dastardly American’s for allowing global warming induced earth quakes to happen. Yankee go home!!! If only a 120 card carrying ACLU lawyers had shown up in the future Mexico City five hundred years ago instead of Cortez, life would be beautiful today. The Aztecs would still be ripping hearts out of human sacrifices and we never would have heard Janis Joplin singing, “eat another little bit of my heart, baby.” Maybe some day we’ll have a time machine, and we can actually test the ACLU out. And we’ll never have to hear the Noam Chomsky snivel again.
