What the Master of the house was saying to the servant was that he had made a grievous error in his thinking and that he did not deserve the talent that he had given him. Therefore he was made to give it unto the faithful servant as punishment. Misquoting scripture is not the best way to try to win over people who do read it and understand it. The possibility that you have led someone astray in their faith is a shameful act on your part. I truly hope that you didn't mean to misquote scripture, which in this case you have. In Him, Dale D. I have come back to it over a half year later to share the error of the writer's ways. The parable of the laborers has to do with an employer who is generous rather than stingy. It is a joke. The joke's on you apparently. It is a call to those that have struggled hard and been faithful to accept that the One whose is 'the earth and all that is in it' will be giving His abundant mercy, eternal life, to all. It is, after all, One who hires laborers that He does not need. It seems like a cruel prank to the laborers that worked all day when an hour's work gave the same pay. It felt like an insult, as if their work had no real value. Such an employer would as soon find himself lynched as another group to work all or even half the day. But consider that the pay is eternal life (and existence)-- and those who held off were foolish, and those who worked immediately were wisest. The payment is the point. I didn't think I would have any comments for this story on MM, but I do have one thing to add about Jesus. Jesus was not politically correct and it's OK if we are not politically correct. Matthew, Mark and Luke point out the lack of political correctness on behalf of Jesus. He tells a woman chasing after him that her daughter is sick, she wants him to heal her, she is a gentile a woman who worshiped other Gods, she was not a Hebrew. He clearly tells her "Go away, I am not sent here to save you and your kind" He says this because it was true and truth is rarely politically correct. Her faith saved her, she referred to herself as a dog after the crumbs of the children of Israel and he healed her daughter, her faith was seen to him as a truth and he healed her daughter. For anyone who has a bible, on of the references is made here Matthew 15:20-30. So Jesus was a bad guy because he let this woman know the truth? Maybe if everyone told the truth at least 95% of the time, we could understand each other better and come to be a better solution, rather than pretending that all IS OK with the US. Calling out people for who they really are, we should be doing that on a daily bases. Starting with the Media, bunch of socialistic lying wimps cowering on the side of socialism. We have become a bunch of people who think truth sounds like hate because people hate the truth. We are so far gone from any moral compass, that we stand for nothing and fall for everything.
