Think about that. This is the same Justice Department, led by Attorney General Eric Holder, that keeps trying to give al-Qaeda terrorists full access to civilian courts for trial. This is the same Justice Department that is suing Arizona for enforcing an immigration law that mirrors a 70-year-old federal immigration statute. This is the same Justice Department that, as J. Christian Adams reports on PJM, has chosen not to enforce the ballot integrity provisions of the Motor Voter law. And this Justice Department represents an administration led by ACORN’s former trainer and lawyer, Barack Obama. This administration had planned to put ACORN into an important role in gathering U.S. census data this year, a plan that would certainly have gone into effect had ACORN not been exposed by Breitbart.tv in 2009.

The Obama administration has repeatedly shown its lawless ways, and it has repeatedly singled out Texas for economic attack via the EPA and its offshore drilling moratorium. For their part, the Texas Democrats have repeatedly fought against sensible ballot integrity efforts like voter photo ID — even going so far as to wreck the 2009 legislative session in order to stop a voter photo ID bill from passing.  So with all of this in mind, it’s time to worry about Houston. The vote there could determine the outcome of the race for governor between incumbent Rick Perry and his Democratic opponent, former Houston mayor Bill White. It could also impact the balance of power in the state House, which could in turn impact the state’s redistricting. That could impact the balance of power over the next decade in the U.S. House of Representatives, as Texas stands to gain as many as four seats after redistricting. So what happens in Houston will impact the entire nation. It’s a big deal.

Going back more than five years ago, Democratic activists in Washington led by Matt Angle targeted Texas, pledging to take a statewide office or a majority in the Texas House (it’s currently 77-73, a slight Republican majority). They set 2010 as their deadline to have Democrats in place so they could influence the state’s redistricting.  And here we are, with a president in popularity freefall and a Democratic Party on the verge of a massive national beating in November. Desperate times, desperate measures, you know the drill.

Is the Houston Votes fraud project part of the Angle Democrats’ overall 2010 effort? It’s certainly fair to say that nothing happens in Texas on the left without Angle’s input — he literally controls the Democratic Party in Texas and, via a massive slush fund left to him by the late Dallas trial lawyer Fred Baron, he orchestrates the activities of other “nonpartisan” groups that have ties to the likes of George Soros and John Kerry. It’s also fair to say that on issue after issue, Democrats simply are out of step with Texas voters and therefore stand little chance of winning much on their own. So the Angle Democrats resort to innuendo and attack, and perhaps in Harris County, outright voter fraud. And now with the fire of undetermined cause, they may have the Obama/Holder Justice Department descend on Texas to help out.

Update (9/9): Texas GOP Vote blog went to the scene of the warehouse fire and has posted pics.

Is there anything those of us outside Texas can do to help keep elections from being stolen there>

    • Abi

      Demand “Voter identification”,
      ..no matter who you are,
      …id with a social,
..every state is in danger of fraud, not only Texas.

I do not understand why people have a problem with showing i.d., i.e., AZ..what is the problem? Voting is a privilege that has been hard fought for…we need to respect it and pony up with some moxie.

      • If someone has to prove who they are to vote, it undermines the ability of the left to steal elections.

So naturally the left is opposed to it. They can’t actually sell their ideologies and policies to a majority of the country. On a good day on 1 person in 4 is a self-professed leftist, and even most of these guys aren’t REALLY leftists. Meanwhile 40% of the country defines itself as conservative. How many are really conservatives is debatable of course, but there are still more conservatives than there are leftists. So the leftists candidates and radicals (but I repeat myself) lie about who they are, what they stand for, what they want. Their operatives in the MFM run interference for them and the rest they make up for by voter fraud.

There are various schemes that they use to actually do this. The most famous is having dead people vote. Democratic operatives will show up at the polls and cast a vote for someone who is no longer with us. Then they’ll go to other polling locations and do the same thing over again. They work to undermine the integrity of the voter registration process so that convicted felons can vote. Here in AZ they were especially fond of getting illegal aliens signed up to vote in our elections. They also work to get absentee ballots excluded because most of these come from members of the military who tend to be very conservative. These are just the schemes that are well understood and documented. There are surely others as well.

So naturally they are totally opposed to any system that would actually ensure the integrity of our elections.

Here in AZ you have to show state issued ID and your voter registration card when you go to the polls. Democratic operatives can’t cast votes for dead people. Illegal aliens can’t vote for their feudal lords. When this law was passed, the usual suspects came out of the woodwork to challenge it in court. They lost. They drug out arguments that only a schizophrenic person would possibly believe. My favorite was that having to show your driver’s license somehow disenfranchised poor people and “minorities.” Somehow the same process used when cashing a check or using your debit card at 7/11 magically excluded people from voting based on their cashflow and/or skin color. Isn’t it funny how the left drags out the same absurd lies for every situation?

So don’t be surprised that what should be common sense is so alien to these people. Guaranteeing the integrity of the ballot box, which is the foundation of our republic and the only thing that gives the government its authority, is anathema to them. They don’t believe in democracy in the first place. To them it is an inconvenience they have to deal with and a check on their power.

Trying to reason with someone who is out to get you and who has no regard for the truth is generally a waste of time. The only thing you can do is demonstrate to others that they are dishonest and up to no good.

        • Whit

Very well put, Lee. Why does it seem so difficult to understand that all this voter manipulation is dishonest and that the perpetrators intend to profit from us at our expense and have no intention of helping us to prosper. It has been that way from the first days of the New Deal to the present as we have steadily lost economic ground while the Socialist loudly proclaim how much they love us. Sort of in the same category as,”I love Ice Cream,” rather than, “I love liberty and justice.” If the Democrats really were concerned about our welfare why the history of lying, cheating and stealing? Why the tax dodging and other improprieties that are definitely on record?

        “ID with a Social…”

NO! a picture ID is one thing. But compelling revelation of one’s dossier number in order to get a (numbered, traceable) ballot is just plain dangerous.

Maybe YOU don’t mind having your vote records turned over to SEIU thugs, but I sure as hell do.

        • J.T. Wenting

If there are union thugs running polling stations, requiring ID to vote is irrelevant as they’ll just turn a blind eye to their supporters and reject the ID produced by anyone else.
Fact that those same people are opposed to ID requirements for elections shows clearly they think it would not benefit them.

And demanding an SSN on the ID enables a check whether the person has an SSN, and whether that SSN has been used to vote before at that polling station or elsewhere.
Which prevents people voting more than once of course (though you’d still need a way to detect fake IDs with real SSNs).

          • Margaret

Be a poll watcher or election judge. Every Precinct is entitled to a judge from each major party. It’s the only way to make sure they’re not monkeying with the numbers at the end of the day. You may need to get some training, but it’s no big deal and is very important. If your precinct has ACORN or SEIU election judges and no poll watchers, don’t bother to vote.

Every poll, especially those run by SEIU needs at least one civilian poll watcher. It’s easy to do. Contact the elections division of your County/District clerk’s office and find out how.
People have been doing this for years, and now it is really needed everywhere.
            Spread the word.

          • Whit

Along with Margaret’s thought I have thought with the electronic voting machines, each interested party should be able to hook up a machine to record each vote as it is cast on the original machine without a filter so that both machines would show the same vote as cast. Afterwards there should be agreement among all machines involved in the vote if a recount is needed. Make it a bit more difficult to modify the voting machine. We should remember that those promoting a fraudulent vote are not honest and the law has little restraining power over them, none over their intent. The government should have no responsibility in furnishing the party machines, only that they record the actual vote cast by the voter. Since the vote is the responsibility of the voter there should be no identifiable link to his vote such as a time stamp. That could give the possible ability to link the voter to the time the vote was cast. If we really want an honest vote we must overrule all those gimmicks to subvert honesty. If your vote is honest why can’t your ID be open and honest?

    • KRoshto

What you can do is make sure this is not happening in your city, county, or state. Be diligent, and if necessary find someone to help sue for remedy of the truth.
I believe this is a small part of a coordinated effort to defraud all US citizens of their voting rights.

    • Constitutionalist

      Yes…S E C E D E.

Everyone carry ID’s with SSNs? Papieren bitte? Since when did we become Nazi Germany, 1933?

“Men, in a word, must necessarily be controlled either by a power within them or a power without them. Either by the Word of God or the strong arm of man, either by the Bible or the bayonet.” Robert Winthrop, Founding Father.

“Without morals a republic cannot subsist any length of time; they therefore who are decrying the Christian religion, whose morality is so sublime and pure, which insures to the good eternal happiness, are undermining the solid foundation of morals, the best security for the duration of free governments.” Charles Carroll, Founding Father.

Think about it. Our very Republic depends on our relationship with and TO God.

      • I hate to break it to you but the Republic does not depend on our relationship with God. Which has never been good in any case.

It does depend on our adherence to morals. You got that one right. And the most important moral to adhere to for the sake of the Republic: honesty.

      • Whit

If you go back and research Social Security it follows the “toe in the door” salesman. You will find that the SSN was sacrosanct and could be used for nothing but Social Security. That lasted till the end of WW 2 when it became a universal identifier. Also, the original SS only affected a very small group of workers but its expansion was planned from the very beginning. Next, where did it originate. To this day I have no clue. I only know that it is not an American concept and did not originate with us. Yet, once launched it was like Obama and his birth particulars. Just don’t ask. If this was honest, so be it, but how can it be honest? If it was not honest then what was its purpose?

    • Norman, France (Eurabia)

On some third world countries, they have a stamp on the hand… Voted ;-)

Winning Harris County, where Houston is, is a key part of the Democrats’ NATIONAL strategy.

Link below is to a 2008 article in the Texas Observer, the key “progressive” publication in the state.

      http://www.texasobserver.org/archives/item/15474-2869-turning-houston-blue

Key points: If Democrats can win New York, California and Texas they will be unbeatable in presidential years; to win Texas, they must carry Harris County; and, to win Harris County, the Democrats must take over the Harris County Tax Office, which handles voter registration.

The plan is to win that office, then spend lots of tax money recruiting voters in “disengaged” areas and get very slack about enforcing the law on completing voter registration applications and the integrity of the voting roll.

If Bill White’s coattails get the Democrat elected Tax Assessor-Collector and Voter Registrar, the Democrats win the state in 2012 and maybe the nation for the remainder of its life as a sort of free country.

    • Larksy

      Errr…Ahh..Secession???????

    • M. M. Lytle

I suggest contacting http://www.TrueTheVote.org who have put out an urgent call for poll watchers. The stats are that conservatives are greatly outnumbered by liberals when it comes to election workers. I also suggest contacting http://www.KingStreetPatriots.com. An amazing group of citizens organizing to not only educate themselves and others on what is happening but also who act to become part of the solution.

Reports are that the Left is busing in “workers” from other parts of the nation; and I personally spoke with a “Green Party” worker who was bused into the area to help conduct a massive effort to get the Green Party on the ballot.

I have wondered why the conservatives do not ask for help from outside their own state: the answer I received was typical of a conservative: “we will do this work ourselves”. Texans, remiss to ask for help, because it’s part of their culture. Extremely independent, responsible and responsible citizens, I admire their “we can do it here” attitude, but I am concerned about the massive voter fraud from the Left that has been so well documented in the film-in-the-making “We Will Not Be Silenced”.

So, yes, please come help us!!! “As Harris County goes, so goes Texas; and as Texas goes, so goes the nation” is what I’ve been told.

      • Whit

Conservatives tend to be honest and law abiding while the subversives are neither honest nor law abiding, therefore the subversives can launch their strategy, which is a vicious and prolonged attack on all our values. We have not indicted their activities as premeditated and deliberate strategy, thinking they would yield to reason. This is not going to happen because they are deeply dedicated to their cause.

If we are truly conservative we will also be united because conservatism is based on principle. The subversives have no principles. It is these principles that bring us together with just one mine. If we are united we can break the power of the subversives regardless of whether we are in Harris County or any where else. We just need to understand that this is war, not a difference of opinion. These subversives are not now nor have they ever been on our side. Divide and conquer is their main strategy.

why are the dem’s against voter ID for elections ? there is only one reason anyone would be against voter ID at elections. Because they know there is fraud going on.

and why are the Dem’s the only ones concerned about this ? BECAUSE it is and always has been the Dem’s who are doing the voter fraud.

  3. 3. jschau

Please publish this as widely as possible. The left will stop at nothing to steal elections. ACORN exposure so far is just the tip of the iceberg. If we had serious people at DOJ, these people would be now under threat of prosecution. Instead it seems Eric Holder’s DOJ encourages vote fraud and cheating.

    • Whit

I suppose like minds are going to think alike. These are not the enemy of our current administration, just us poor peons.

  4. 4. Adina Kutnicki, Israel

The Dems will do ANYTHING, including murder, to not lose power. They are in a fight for their lives, and most of all for their POWER.

Those who believe that the DOJ will not interfere in favor of the Dems are hallucinating.

I advise each and every conservative to closely monitor ALL their local polling places, whether in a conservative county or not. In fact, I would gather a stable of on call legal observers AND security types to watch everything to do with the polling.

I would not be surprised at anything they do to staunch the Dems from losing their iron grips. The Panther voter intimidation from 2008 is chicken scratch compared to what is coming.

    • Kathy L.

I agree wholeheartedly. I think most people understimate the depth of depravity and chaos to which the left will sink. They will stop at nothing. Nothing! Excellent post, Adina.

    • Moon

Seriously? Murder?? You know, you should look into what you Israelis did to Rachel Corrie and the Palestinians before you accuse DEMOCRATS of murder. Sheesh.

      • BLBeamer

You know, you should look into what you Israelis did to Rachel Corrie and the Palestinians before you accuse DEMOCRATS of murder.

I don’t believe all Democrats would resort to murder, but do you seriously think that all Israelis murdered Saint Pancake?

How is your response any improvement at all – intellectually or philosophically – over the comment you objected to?

What’s worse, your friends in the loony left are bound to disown you now, because the meme is that Caterpillar Corp. murdered Saint Pancake. If you can’t keep up with the talking points, how can you expect to be allowed into all the anti-Bush parties they will still be holding in 2024?

      • BW

I blame Rachel’s aging hippie parents–they never taught her to stay out of the blind spot of a Caterpillar. Pass the maple syrup!

      • Rachel Corrie, poor ditsy broad, played chicken with an Israeli bulldozer and lost. While I wouldn’t wish getting pancaked into roadkill on another human being, she brought it on herself by providing cover
to Pali gunners lobbing rockets and mortar rounds into Israel.

A mother and father lost their child, but their child brought it on herself. If she serves as nothing
else than an deterrent for other would-be and naive useful idiots, Rachel Corrie will have made the
        world a better place.

      • You do realize that Houston is in Texas and that this is an article about the integrity of US elections, not dead delusional bolsheviks who earned top marks at the Darwin awards in a foreign country?

But since you started pulling irrelevancies into this, I think this is a good time for me to complain about the murderous IRA and about the economic and moral support that Democrats in places like Boston gave to it for so many years.

There are a lot of Democrats in southie with blood on their hands.

      • J.T. Wenting

Corrie was suicide, plain and simple.
If you throw yourself in front of a moving piece of construction machinery in a warzone, that’s suicide.
Might even be considered an act of war.

Those “Palestinians” were enemy combattants in an armed conflict they themselves started and are still pursueing despite having signed all matter of “peace accords”, they’re legitimate targets, every last one of them.

People like you are the reason I fear civilisation is lost and we’re heading headlong into the dark ages, collapse of society and mass murder of several billion human beings by leftist and muhammedan fanatics.

        • Whit

Since these friends of the subversives have brought up the subject of Rachel Corrie they should know her blood is on their hands and not on Israel. Rachel was supporting murder and violence. She was not supporting peace and prosperity for the Palestinian. If the Israeli dedicated as much energy to violence as Palestine they would very soon be a basket case and cease to exist. Someone needs to tend the store, not shop lift at their heart’s content. Yes, the Bolshevik uses assassination as a tool and the Democrats are infiltrated by these murderers. Like Jesus said in Mathew 23 that the hypocrite would have the opportunity to persecute so that they would be indicted with all the murders that have been committed. These friends of the subversives are bringing all that blood on their own heads.

      • Filthy Screw

Trolling….Very nice but a fail. Miserable.
Rachel Corrie? Mr. Prosser:”Mister Dent, have you have any idea how much damage this bulldozer would suffer if I just let it just roll straight over you?”
        Arthur Dent:”How much?”
        Mr. Prosser:”None at all.”

  5. I second Adina Kutnicki: the effort, between now and November, must be at the local polling places. In fact, perhaps PJM should start a section reporting on these local places, interviewing the people in charge, etc. Also, interview relevant experts on voting laws and arcana. This is the battleground now.

  6. The Art of War says that when an army is surrounded and resources are depleting, the only way to escape with your life is to fight like your life lies in the balance. The Democrats are in an entrenched position, and understandably, are performing “drastic” measures to survive. They don’t have a leg to stand on, so they’ll continue to scratch and fight until their demise…going down with their ship.

We can either allow them to self destruct or we can drive the sword in and end this.

The question is…what would we use to deliver the final blow?

The answer to that question could change the course of history as you’ve stated…

In my opinion, if they were to lose the support of the Hispanic community…it would be over.

What needs to happen in order for Hispanics to lose faith in their Democratic leaders?

They need to realize they have been putting their faith in man…not God.

God is not showing favor to the Democrats…he’s punishing them, just as he always does. It’s not in our hands…

Hispanics do not want to experience the wrath of God…no one does…and those in the non-God fearing camp of the Democratic party are about to see what happens to people who degrade God and His commandments.

Let’s push this message and see what happens…just a thought.

    • Whit

It may be just a thought but it is a good thought. It also has all the power it needs to prevail.

  7. 7. robotech master

Votes stopped counting a long time ago… deal with it. Reality isn’t pretty and the reality is there is massive voter fraud across the board. You and Adams are doing nothing to fix this issue. Whining and crying about it and maybe dropping some names isn’t going to fix the problem. Theirs an old saying “Crush the head of the snake”. You guys are in a dark room flailing around trying to hit the rattle of the snake on the ground. Your not doing much and even if you manage to hit the rattle(such as ACORN) your not fixing the problem… your driving it underground even more making it even harder to find.

You need to go for the head of the snake and that head is obama and Democrat leadership… thats means you need to go to the basics as well… the first and most important is forcing states to obey all the laws of elections for candidates…. and that means making obama present his long form unedited birth cert… make all states enforce all the basics laws first every step of the way down the line…

Or you can chase the rattle in the dark room… sooner or later your going to get bit…

    • Larry in the Silicon

That is the heart of the problem – a Presidency that shows no evidence of legitimacy (while those who try to prove the opposite are ridiculed, including on Republican sites like this and FPM); a Democrat leader Pelosi who waived the requirement that Obama be vetted, and a lot of Secretaries of State of individual states who essentially violated the law to make sure his name would be on the ballot.

Point being, Obama and his inner circle are aware of all this and the ramifications. They’d rather beat back the opposition than to face the consequences. A Republican-dominated Congress is a major threat.

    • Rob Crawford

      Oh, God.

If elections don’t matter, then what good can come from chasing the birther fantasy? You’re not going to unseat a president by showing there’s something odd about his parentage.

If elections don’t matter, if preventing fraud and fighting against blatant corruption of the election process doesn’t matter, then the country’s lost.

      • The “birther fantasy” has shown us that if, say, Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted to run for POTUS, there is no mechanism by which a mere citizen can say “hey, he’s not a natural-born citizen, and therefore not eligible!” before the election, and once the election is over, Congress is the sole judge of electoral votes.

That a significant portion of the electorate thinks this is no big deal just boggles my mind.

      • robotech master

        To Rob Crawford

Ummm wtf are you talking about? You contradict yourself at least 4 times in such a short set of words and make zero sense…. you should also read what I wrote and maybe educate yourself on the topic since you clearly don’t have a clue what your talking about.

      • Nick Reynolds

If the cert showed he was naturalized, he wouldn’t meet the eligibility requirement set forth in the Constitution. You don’t spend millions hiding something from the public unless it’s damaging.

    • Whit

Obama is flesh and blood and also expendable. This serpent is the one encountered in the Garden of Eden. Obama is not responsible for our current political problem although he has very actively promoted it. We need to get rid of our Socialist baggage and our Socialists will disappear with the baggage. Vodka will get us just as drunk as Tequila because they both contain the same spirits. That spirit is way way older than Obama.

  8. 8. Alice Wigglebotton

“Voter fraud” is neocon code for “black”. You are a racist bigot.

    • Alice, “neocon” is leftist code for “Jew” so I guess you know your codes.

    • JR

And “neocon” is code of “Jooooooooooooo”. Call for you, Alice. It’s Pot. It says that you’re voter fraud.

    • Filthy Screw

Trolling and Godwinning yourself in one post. Well done!

  9. I really appreciated your time as Communications Director of the RPT. It is sad that you weren’t able to build their web presence to the same degree that you boosted Hot Air. Prickly bunch aren’t they? Anyway, all of this fraud in elections, welfare, SNAP, and all the other government programs hinges on the government NOT caring about valid ID. All of it! Then there’s the case of the failure to report government outlays to individutals. You work, you get W-2′s, 1099-MISC etc but the government takes that money, blesses it with a kiss transforming it to “income, redistributed” and refuses to report it. 1099-GOV. It IS time! You canNOT fix what you cannot track.

  10. 10. Lolz

Bryan Preston is so full of garbage. Everyone in Houston knows that the “King Street Patriots” burned that thing to the ground. Who loses if the vote is hard to get out in Houston? BILL WHITE — the three term mayor of houston who got like 90% of the vote.

This is a dumb attempt to make this a campaign issue. Logic apparently has been thrown out the door by Bryan since he left us high and dry.

    • MathMom

Show or link to your evidence that King Street Patriots burned the warehouse to the ground.

    • MathMom

I’m still waiting for your evidence that King Street Patriots burned down the warehouse. I’m sure you are just assembling all of it, right?

    • MathMom

Lolz – umm, I’m waiting. Cat got your tongue?

    • MathMom

I would expect that if everyone in Houston KNOWS King Street Patriots burned down the warehouse, Lolz would have evidence at hand. Guess being a lying hit-and-run blowhard is easier than saying the truth, or better yet, nothing at all.

  11. 11. Richard

“Racist” is liberal for “I lost the debate.”

  12. 12. David Thomson

The fire may have been set by those loyal to the Democratic Party—but this is 2010. The odds are that the GOP will reign supreme on Election Day. Things are looking better by the day.

    • Eric R.

      Mr. Thomson:

Do you really think that the Dems and their MSM propaganda machine will let the Republicans win?

How many MILLIONS of fraudulent votes will be cast for Dems by dead voters, voters with multiple residences, and illegal aliens?

Do you reallly think that GOP poll watchers trying to monitor this stuff will be allowed to do it without being stonewalled, excluded, beaten or even killed?

Do you think that media outlets investigating this massive voter fraud will be allowed to do it? They will be shut down for reasons of “hate speech” and “security”.

And if there is even the slightest resistance, the Obama junta will simply declare a state of martial law and use public sector union goons and the Nation of Islam as his enforcers.

This people care about keeping power at all costs, even if it means risking a civil war.

      • David Thomson

Vote fraud is something to concern all Americans. The United States, however, thankfully is not a third world nation. It happens often in minority districts where a number of leftist radicals believe they have a right to “stick it to the man.” But these vote stealing schemes are rarely successful if the Republican candidate wins by two percentage points or more. It is highly unlikely that we will see many tight elections in the purple and red state areas of Texas. The Republicans should win handedly.

I’m sorry, but I cannot share your optimism. This is the same leftist mindset that butchered 150 million people in the 20th century. (And those who didn’t commit the crimes still justified and defended them.) What are a few million phony votes to them compared to that?

So the Obamunists in Houston, who openly flew Cuban flags and praise Castro and Chavez have their Reichstag Fire. So what?

Even if the rolls were purged of non-existant voters, even if the election were honest by Chicago standards, and the Republicans won, so what?

    Let’s review shall we?
Promise in 1980 to abolish the Dept. of Education. All talk, no action
Promise in 1994 to defund the Left. All talk, no action.
Fool me once, shame on me.
Fool me twice, shame on you.
Try to fool me for 30+ years with blather about limited government: ROFL. KMA.

I live in Houston. If the Republicans want me to care that they have a fair chance at the election, the party must become more than Democratic Socialist Lite ‘n’ Later. Otherwise complaining that Democrats lie and cheat better than Republicans gets no notice from me.

Here’s what you must do: some state which the Republicans control must abolish the state income tax. Now. Before the election. That’s action that I can support– it’s not another year of empty promises. In Texas, abolish minority set-asides, hate crime laws, and order the universities to disband “studies” departments and fire all associated with them. Action, not talk, will get my vote, money, and, yes, attention in your claims that the other side is cheating. Otherwise, KMA.

    • ione

Just for the record it was Republicans in Texas that kept Texas income tax free. It was Republicans in Texas that kept the Texas constitution from being messed with. It was Republicans in Texas that finally got our text books to tell the truth about history. I could go on but you sound like the Huffington Post people about Obama. They’re mad because he’s had 18 months and hasn’t turned this into their socialist utopia, yet. You’re mad because the Republicans haven’t turned this into a Conservative utopia.yet. What have you been doing, besides rolling off the couch to go vote every two years. Have you gotten involved in your community to change things? I don’t mean involved in a political campaign I mean your religious institution, school board. If you have, then good; do more. If your waiting for all this to be fixed with legislation you are no better than a democrat.

Thanks for the so what and KMA attitude, tehag. Because of those attitudes, we got Pelosi as Speaker of the House and Reid as the Senate Majority leader in 2006. Those self defeating so what and KMA attitude gave as Barack Obama as President of the US in 2008. So tell me, tehag, did it really helped you? The Democrats love people like you because they can depend on people like you to stay in power and keep that way with their cronies influencing and controlling the local elections. Instead of whining about it over the internet and telling the Republicans to KMA, why don’t you run for office? Why don’t you get involved yourself? Oh, I forgot, you are busy, you have no time for that , you have no money, no connections and it’s not for you. Tehag, follow your own advice, stop talking and make something happen. Whining over here does not help you.

      To 16. Will

The lets vote for hitler vs stalin and like it attitude is really played out…

the reason we got ” Pelosi as Speaker of the House and Reid as the Senate Majority leader in 2006, Barack Obama as President of the US in 2008.” is because the democrats are leftwing and far leftwing and the republicans are leftwing and center leftwing…. Ppl choose to vote for them and ppl in the case of obama choose and still choose to ignore the huge US Constitutional issues around them… ppl like you. Ppl like you voted for the leftwing and center left republicans pushing them farther left and thus making it no choice but between a far leftwinger and a leftwinger.

      • Over50

I lean in tehag’s direction. There comes a point at which the Republican establishment does not deserve my support – even at the cost of letting in someone like Obama. I did not vote for Bush Sr. after he broke his no new taxes pledge. Likewise, I refused to vote for McCain after all his compromises that hamstrung Republican efforts over the years. I think in both cases the resulting pain of Democratic successes ultimately lead and will lead to the success of Republicans I can support. I’d prefer we sort this out at the primary level, and this year we’ve done some of that. But Republican lite just continues big government growth and the erosion of personal freedom, so I refuse to support it. I like to think that McCain’s defeat has significantly reduced his influence and that of the stupid Republican establishment that engineered his nomination.

      • Whit

Principles are not inherited. The older generation must teach the younger what these principles are. For some reason this seems to be quite difficult. The Republican party was launched on principles and not on promise. The older generation failed to pass those principles on to the younger generation while leaving the company name intact so that many who are now called Republican know nothing of the Republican principles. This seems to be the way of man from Genesis to now. The correction of discipline brings us back to the principles and we prosper, then we neglect their teaching, then we come under discipline again. Will we be corrected this time or remain willful?

  17. 17. Michael

Bill White, the Democratic candidate, was first a lawyer with a contract law firm in Houston; more recently he has made money in the natural gas business; see a recent front page article in the Dallas Morning News. He is the kind of entrepeneur that can add something to our economic decisions. And I think a fresh person is also called for in the state house. I’m inclined to support him. If Ca is gerrymandered to provide a disproportionate Democrat U.S. representation that needs to be fixed there.

    • Whether Bill White should win the election is completely irrelevant to the subject of this article. Unless you think the only way for him to win is vote fraud.

    • Ione

I am not fooled by the good ol’ boy charm or the actors in cowboy hats in his commercials. It is not just Bill White it is who he will have in his administration and I know the Democrats in Texas. Under Bill White Houston was/is a sanctuary city. Under Bill White in Houston there was all the voter fraud. I also remember what happened during Katrina. It may have looked nice on the national news, but it wasn’t nice when the cameras went away, especially for the people of Houston in their neighborhoods and schools. Bill White is not the simple “business man, good ol’ boy” that he puts forward anymore than Obama was what he put forward in the election. Is administration will have tons of Austin liberals pushing every EPA and education thing they can. Then the boarder will be opened so we never have a Republican again.

A long time ago, I figured out that people are more likely to be stupid than evil. Very few bad people wake up in the morning thinking, “Hmmm, how can I make the world a little bit more worse today….” It’s much more likely they instead wake up and think (in so many words), “Hmmm, let me go spread some half-ass rumors I heard from utterly unreliable sources in order to disparage people I don’t like and further my own misbegotten beliefs.”

That’s basically what you guys are doing and have been doing.

So if you are not smart enought to get an education and work yourself to the top of any given field, in order to give a credit worthy report of your stability, and honest to goodness American with the spirit worth fighting and dying for this country what good are you on the voters registration card? answer-none.
Me, I had to do it the hard way, I was taught as a youngster, if you can’t pay for it in cash, guess what, you can’t afford it. Semper Fi. brother.

  20. 20. Marty

I generally just throw away GOP party $$$ solicitations because I don’t know what the GOP stands for–I give to candidates and PACs.

But if the GOP put together a serious, highly visible and targeted and massive effort at combatting vote fraud, THAT I would give to.

  21. Speaking as a Harris County GOP precinct chair and the election judge for my precinct, I’d love to have the Justice Department come in and monitor things. I’m sure i could even come up with a list of precincts where intense monitoring would be beneficial. You know, the ones where there are more votes cast than signatures in the book every election because the election judge put access codes on the table where anyone could grab a couple and cast them without being noticed. The ones where Democrat election judges marginalize their GOP alternate judges, not allowing any meaningful participation in the running of the polling place and threatening to expel them from the building if they disagree with how the election judge is running the place. The ones where whole busloads of minority voters appear in government-owned buses, or in buses owned by churches.

Unfortunately, those would not be the things they look at, even though these are what I hear my fellow GOP precinct chairs from Democrat-controlled precincts tell me about after every election. Instead, they will want to look for irregularities anywhere they can squeeze out a few more votes for Bill White and other Democrat candidates, rather than stopping actual fraud.

    • So Houston-area bloggers and Tea Partiers (as suggested below) should volunteer to expose these doings, and you can guide them where to bring their video cameras and cellphones to tweet constant updates before and on election day. I’m in NYC, but I hope you guys all find each other. And I hope the GOP candidates in the area are sufficiently lawyered-up and well-funded to contest every very close election, vote by vote. Don’t concede the race, don’t be embarrassed to cry foul, don’t assume the other side will play fair. Be ready to call vote fraud the moment you suspect it and don’t let up.

  22. 22. newton

It’s time for Houston-area bloggers and Tea Parties to act. NOW!

Here in San Antonio, I’m asked for ID when I vote. I have not thought to refuse. Is it right that no ID is required?

    • Sorta.

If you have your voter registration card (even an expired one from a previous election cycle), that is all you need, even though it has no picture on it. There are a number of other forms of identification you can use if you do not have the voter registration card — these include the following:
      1) a driver’s license or personal identification card issued to the person by the Department of Public Safety or a similar document issued to the person by an agency of another state, regardless of whether the license or card has expired;
      2) a form of identification containing the person’s photograph that establishes the person’s identity;
      3) a birth certificate or other document confirming birth that is admissible in a court of law and establishes the person’s identity;
      4) United States citizenship papers issued to the person;
      5) a United States passport issued to the person;
      6) official mail addressed to the person by name from a governmental entity;
      7) a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows the name and address of the voter; or
      8) any other form of identification prescribed by the Secretary of State.

Notice that many of these do not include a photo.

I fear a day will come when a Democrat Secretary of State will allow a Matricula Consular from the Mexican Consulate to be used as identification.

  24. I don’t understand these states with no ID requirement at the polling place. Here in Kentucky if you don’t have ID when you show up at the poll then you don’t vote. They will let you do a provisional but those are then closely checked by the local Board of Elections before being counted.

  25. 25. amy

I think I know what you were trying to point out here, but I think you missed a rather important point – Houston is pretty damn liberal and leans pretty far Left. They were the ones that voted in Bill White in the first place. I agree voter integrity needs to be maintained, but I fail to see how Houston staying blue will matter much.

    • Eric R.

Because those illegal voters would affect STATEWIDE races too. As it happens, the Houston mayor is the Democratic candidate for Governor, and is in a close race with the Republican incumbent (and friend of Roger’s) Rick Perry. 10,000 illegal voters in Houston (plus more I’m sure in Dallas, San Antonio and El Paso) could throw this race to Bill White.

      • Whit

Too many fraudulent votes could throw an election into a contest so the fraudsters need to shoot for just enough to secure the vote but not enough to generate undue suspicion. A heavy turnout of opposition voters makes this more difficult for them. Once your through the fence there is nothing left to restrain you. These fraudsters have already broken through the fence of legal restraint and anything you can get by with is then legal. When principle is involved it is always wrong to disregard that principle. Therefore these fraudsters must discredit principle.

        • Bob Smith

I disagree. Suspicion doesn’t matter to them. Look at the obvious and very public vote fraud that took place in the elections of Christine Gregoire and Al Franken.

  26. 26. davelnaf

It’s no surprise that the Democratic Party in Texas, or anywhere for that matter, has devolved into a semi-criminal organization. Except in the state’s dense urban areas it is pretty much a rejected party.

The news that Houston’s politics is particularly corrupt is no surprise. The local media did not have much to say while a former mayor (not White) pretty much looted the city treasury while gallivanting around the world on taxpayer funded ‘trading missions.’ Democrats may be comically incompetent once in office but they are pretty smart when it comes to stealing elections.

Bill White was a trial lawyer, in the Clinton Energy Department, and made big money in the industry he had regulated. BILL WHITE IS NO MODERATE, HE JUST PLAYS ONE ON TELEVISION. White left Houston with major budget shortfalls. White was instrumental in helping SEIU get a foothold in Houston through the Janitorial workers even though Texas is a right to work state.

MOVEON.org has sent paid teams to Texas to work for Bill White’s campaign. Why, if Bill White is moderate, would GreenPeace “true believers” be sent to Houston to work for him? White has the support of business interests in Houston because they profited from his tenure as mayor, no more, no less.

Bill White is as much of a moderate as Barack Obama was when he ran for office.

We fully expect Eric Holder and his henchmen to parachute in at the last minute, writs in hand, to take control of Harris County’s elections. The Texas dems have filed another suit claiming illegal handling of thousands of error filled or outright fraudulent registrations, and local legal operators even make the claim that inclusion of a ‘red light camera’ initiative on the CoH ballot will ‘diminish, dilute or discourage minority participation’ in the election. This is un-freaking-believable and we just sit here and take it.

  35. 35. Yetwave

From headline to nothing, hardly even back page mention in the local rag, The Houston Chronicle, the voting machine warehouse fire has glanced off the attention span of the football distracted denizens of Houston.
The city of Houston is solidly democrat while the large suburbs and independent cities surrounded by Houston are conservative strongholds. The fire torched the machines for the entire county, not just the city. If the blaze was democrat subterfuge, the party of the feebled minded shot itself in the foot as most of the votes in the area that would go uncontested would be republican.
Demographic projections have greater Houston eclipsing Chicago in population within 15 years. From this example, we’re on the way in matching the windy city in the arena of political chicanery.

    • Whit

What I have to wonder about is what was in or about those voting machines that could not be trusted to the light of day. That was my first thought when I read about the torching. Take no chance that the machines be examined by honest people. Better to inconvenience the vote.

  36. 36. tired dog

    Yetwave,

CoH demographics are heavily D, but Harris County outside CoH is not the R stronghold you may remember. The entire state is trending less R. We now expect polls to run with both electronic and paper ballots, at voters’ choice. We are almost assured confusion at best and disruptions at worst. Confusion creates the opportunity for mischief, and with lawsuits already underway we may have more changes and more chance for confusion even before the early voting season starts in mid-October. Harris County has a problem and not much time to get things in order.

  37. 37. Felicia

I just learned today that the County Clerk will NOT be extending early voting hours for the election. How many kinds of stupid do they have to be?

I’m so worried about things here in Houston.

  38. 38. Fink

  39. 39. Silent Archer

re: “to win Harris County, the Democrats must take over the Harris County Tax Office, which handles voter registration”

If Bill White wins the governorship, he also gets to appoint the Secretary of State, who is the chief election officer of the state. Recall that it was the Minnesota Secretary of State that certified Al Franken’s election, while reporting that his office “received no reports whatsoever of fraudulent voting occurring” — never mind that 17,000 more votes were tallied in the Senate race than there were registered voters (see http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/01/29/states-secretaries-state-tipping-balance-power/)!

Google [secretary of state projet] and you’ll see that this is part of a conerted national strategy.

    • Whit

Yes, this is strategy more than ideology at work. Ideology is involved but what we are dealing with is strategy. The major cover up is the strategy portion.

More strategy and cover up. These are not Hitler Nazis but Bolshevik Communist. Not much difference in intent but quite a bit of difference in strategy. We are hearing a lot about the Nazis lately but that is a diversion to keep us from seeing the Soviet Communists behind the strategy.

  42. 42. S Rubicon

I made the mistake of clicking on some of the sites mentioned to see what ‘the left’ had to say about this in Houston. I regret doing that! There are some who say voter fraud does not actually take place until someone actually tries to fraudulently vote. Otherwise, its just someone made a mistake on their voter registration card. Those folks seem to think its OK to flood a registrar’s office w/ what could be thousands of false registrations in an effort to cloud the outcome since no registrar could possibly vet that many new registrations if they arrive, as they typically do, just before an election. As it stands now, there are only 54 days left until the vote, so huge numbers of new registrations to vet means most will not be verified & many will get to vote who should not be able to vote. Seems to me the public would back a new, verifiable, lock-tight voter registration & identification (with photo ID) documentation process, so the public could be reasonably sure their vote was legitimate. Who objects to real registration? Why? Especially if the state goes to the effort & expense of making the process easy for all legitimate voters to get the ID & be registered???

    • Whit

More strategy initiated long ago and nurtured into its present form. None of these proponents are interested in our voting franchise but in getting elected by any means they can get by with. Prima Facie evidence of their inherent dishonesty. If you want to put your trust in lies you will listen to and accept those lies. When we demand strict identification we are not excluding legitimate voters. Lets not buy into the malarkey that this disenfranchises dead people, multiple voters and their ilk.

  43. 43. grampster

Ummm…didn’t a lot of people from New Orleans come to Houston after Katrina?

    Americhoice Health Laughs at DOJ

2009 and 2010 $120,000 from your tax dollars at work
Philadelphia PA Mayor Nutter received two years in a row $60,000 checks to help keep open and operate the city swimming pools. These checks came from AmeriChoice Health and on the surface seems like fine gifts. Yet, they are Bribes non the less, these checks come from a company who receives all its money from the Federal State Governments as a vendor for Medicare Medicaid services is not allowed to offer bribes kickbacks and money gifts of any kind in order to promote its share of the market place. This is also not allowed as a use of your taxpayers dollars yet it happens. What does it really cost the City of Philadelphia to receive this money? Americhoice Health has a long history of corruption over the years yet seems to be protected by those who are responsible to over see their actions why is that? Sorry must apologize just received a notice that AmeriChoice Health was under the impression they thought they were suppose to have started their very own stimulus and economic program package and the one they implemented, they had no idea it violated all the Stark ,Health and Kickbacks laws. Some one will have to notify the following departments it was all a mistake or error in judgement, the Department of Justice, CMS, Dept of health and Human resourses, the FBI,and IRS, and any other agency effected by this tragedy or unfortunate misunderstanding. No harm, no fowl, forgive and forget, OK, then how about some coupons for a free whole fried chicken…..

Among its provisions, the anti-kickback statute penalizes anyone who knowingly and willfully solicits, receives, offers or pays remuneration in cash or in kind to induce, or in return for: A. Referring an individual to a person for the furnishing, or arranging for the furnishing, of any item or service payable under the Medicare or Medicaid program; or B. Purchasing, leasing or ordering , or arranging for or recommending purchasing, leasing or ordering, any goods, facility, service or item payable under the Medicare or Medicaid program. Violators are subject to criminal penalties, or exclusion from participation in the Medicare and Medicaid rograms, or both. A violation of the anti-kickback law is a felony offense that carries criminal fines of up to $25,000 per violation, imprisonment for up to five years and exclusion from government health care programs. The federal anti-kickback statute, 42 U.S.C.§ 1320a-7b(b), prohibits individuals or entities from knowingly and willfully offering, paying, soliciting or receiving remuneration to induce referrals of items or services covered by Medicare, Medicaid or any other federally funded program.

If this were any one person not a corporation they would be in jail now, if the FBI were called in on this matter they would be in jail now, if the IRS were notified they would be in jail now. Since all Ameri-Choice checks come from the United Health’s home office they should be held equally responsible for any bribes, kickbacks, Stark, Fraud and inducements violations that have occured. Federal and State Governments have developed such a depended position with this company that laws and rules no longer apply for them. This role is nothing new for the AmeriChoice people and its been going on for years, look at some of the prior news articles that date back for years only now they can afford to hire the best of Law firms and give the most for Political contributations all on the back of the taxpayer. Sure the Laws have become tighter but you can still dance away their problems.

Three years ago they were reported to these Federal agency’s and as of todays date not only were they allowed to continue doing business but were never charged once. Protected vendor status sure, politics sure, limited government budgets sure, Federal and State officals looking the other way sure, and rather then stop these activities a strong desire not to rock the boat existed. Even with the vast changes in the laws and budgets,a hands off policy remains, you tell me what’s wrong with this picture? The Government created this monster and now they don’t know what to do about it, like shooting yourself in your own foot etc. Tons of money to advance their national growth, its market positions, tons of money for political donations, tons of money to send 75 millon back to its home office from New York state alone, tons of money to suppot National TV shows, tons of money to pay hugh State fines, tons of money to hire the very best law firms, tons of money to pay for bribes and kickbacks, tons of money for hugh salarys and bonuses, all done on the back of the American taxpayor, you see this company receives all its money from the Federal government. Should your tax dollars be held to a higher standard? Should the government agencys responsible for there review be held to that same standard?Should the IRS audit their corruption? Why has this company not been charged? How long can the buck be passed here in more ways then one? Hey, it’s your tax dollars don’t complain now then don’t complain later.tax dollars for bribes //
