Has President Obama had a miraculous Paul of Tarsus like conversion while traveling his own road to Damascus? A true Obama moment? According to Rasmussen, his favorable vs. unfavorable ratings have been in the positive range. The country is broke and getting broker by the minute, but so what? There were some leg tingles when he announced a forty-five billion dollar trade deal with China during President Hu’s visit. However, very little was actually new business: “It’s largely an amalgamation of agreements that had already been inked, including Boeing’s $19 billion airplane deal.” Oh well. He has also “appointed GE Chairman Jeffrey Immelt to head his newly created Council on Jobs and Competitiveness,” the successor to Paul Volcker’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board. Oh well again; Immelt may be a crony capitalist and the poster child for corporate welfare but it’s still awesome; the country desperately needs councils and czars and the more the merrier.
The world looks forward anxiously to President Obama’s State of the Union message when ambience will trump substance and there will be at least some attempts to show unity. It won’t be like this event at the opening of the Scottish Parliament in 2004 where the members all joined hands and sang Auld Lang Syne; they seemed to be enjoying it. The show of unity at the State of the Union address should be spectacular in any event. It will also provide a great comedy routine to amuse our enemies abroad, and a welcome respite from harsh partisan rhetoric for those in the United States. Can President Obama really speak out of both sides of his mouth unaided, or will his ventriloquist be required? How about a split-screen teleprompter?
President Obama recently announced in a Wall Street Journal op-ed piece that there are too many stupid old (as distinguished from stupid new) anti-business regulations and that he is going to fix them. Will there by any deregulatory impact on climate initiatives, ObamaCare, and Dodd-Frank? No, only the bad old regulations are up for consideration:

Besides, agencies must be held accountable! Of course; but for what and to whom? The people? The Congress? The president? It would be at least a minor miracle if he would or could somehow fix the current mess he worked so hard to make. He won’t:

He should know about the ways in which agency rules can damage the economy because he has been the catalyst for many such rules in the recent past. His signature legislation, ObamaCare, has numerous statements such as “the Secretary shall determine” with little or no statutory guidance as the bases upon which the Secretary is to make his determinations. Such nonsense continues; he claims that the goal of his “administration has been to strike the right balance.” If what has happened thus far reflects his administration’s notion of the “right balance,” then keeping that same balance means more of the same. Is he serious? Of course he is, about getting reelected next year, and the best way to do that is to make noises he hopes will please business while permitting him to continue to boldly go precisely where he has gone before. Drill, baby, drill? Let’s change the subject and talk about something less oily; ObamaCare? That’s off limits too.
Obama will probably get re-elected. The Republicans have nobody who can win. Romney? Are you kidding me? Palin? She is unelectable. Hucksterbee? He’s a fake phony fraud. Pawlenty? Unelectable. Pence? Unelectable. Daniels? No one ever heard of him. Gingrich? Are you serious? Giuliani? He doesn’t sell west of the Hudson River.
The Republicans want Obama to have a 2nd term. That’s the way the game works. 8 years Democrats. Then you have 8 years Republicans. Then you have another 8 years for the Democrats… and when all the Republicans and Democrats are finished fighting amongst themselves… you pick your head up, and there is no country left.
At the end of the day it doesn’t really matter who wins. They’re all the same. The Republicans and Democrats have “triangulated” the American people, and we have no viable alternatives. On all the important issues, they all agree with each other. (Wall Street, TARP Bailouts, open borders, “free trade”, illegal immigration, China, OPEC, Military-Industrial Complex, Iraq, Afghanistan etc…). They only disagree (or at least they pretend to disagree) on some social issues (abortion, gays etc.).
Why did the John the Crybaby Boehner, and Mitch the Gobbler McConnell make that deal with Obama to extend the “Bush tax cuts” right after the election, before the new Republicans were seated? Why not shut down the lame duck session, and wait until the new members were seated? Answer: Because establishment Republicans are scared of the Tea Party people (Rand Paul, Allen West, Marco Rubio, Pat Toomey, Mike Lee, and others…). They are a threat to the status quo. They are a threat to the establishment. They might put an end to all the business as usual(pork, earmarks, bridges to nowhere, bailouts, “stimulus”, corporate welfare).
If the phony check-pants country-club (Rockefeller) Republicans cave in, and raise the debt ceiling, then they are finished. There will be a 3rd party. And I may lead it. There is only so much #$%& the American people are going to take.

I love your attempt at creating satire at its best but what we have failed to realize is that, as much as we all want to think that Obama is unqualified for the job of the presidency, do we in our right minds think that Sarah Palin will fare better? Just ask Paul Krugman, he is really good at explaining how that works.
As for amerikkka’s prestige, what can I say? After George W. Bush Jr.’s cowboy antics, the respect for this country in the rest of the world was at an all-time low. I want to assure you that the Presidents of China, Saudi Arabia, Russia and France all assure me that they have much more respect for amerikkka now than they did when Bush was stirring up trouble all over the globe. You can’t do what you suggest if the United States itself does not respect property rights, including the right to gain for taking the significant risks involved with innovating new technologies. Dan – The problem here is that Congress has delegated its authority to the Administration to write regulations and then to enforce them without Congressional approval. I have no problem with Congress’ asking the Administration to write the regulations for a bill, but I do have a big problem with the regulations not going through the full Legislative process, allowing Congress and the President to sign off on them. I think it is flat out unconstitutional for Congress to delegate its legislative authority to the Administration, allowing it to write and then enforce regulations without legislative approval. Nowhere in the Constitution is such authority granted. Indeed, Article 1 opens with the words, “All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States,” meaning no legislative power is granted to the Administration. It is also unconstitutional for another reason. The Constitution says: “The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the … general Welfare of the United States.” Until rules and regulations of a bill are fleshed out, no one can know whether the bill will indeed provide for the general welfare. Hence, a bill passed where the effects on the general welfare cannot be known until after the rules and regs are written is prima facie unconstitutional.

President Obama recently announced in a Wall Street Journal op-ed piece that there are too many stupid old (as distinguished from stupid new) anti-business regulations and that he is going to fix them.
Reportedly, Obama’s idiotlogue in chief, Cass Sunstein (Czar of Information and Regulatory Affairs) has written new regulations stacking at least 6 inches tall. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has minions daily banging out bureaucratic regulatory controls, attempting to make “Obamacare” so convoluted and arcane that it cannot be repealed.
It is no accident, as you write…”ObamaCare, has numerous statements such as “the Secretary shall determine” with little or no statutory guidance as the bases upon which the Secretary is to make his determinations.”
“I stung you because I’m a SCORPION, that’s what I DO!” said the scorpion to the frog.

Obama Commie Carol Browner Bites the Dust
And recently Browner’s office had come under scrutiny for politicizing the response to the massive Gulf oil spill. The commission set up by Obama to investigate the disaster said Browner misconstrued on national television the findings of a federal scientific report by saying most of the oil was gone. The White House later said she misspoke.
Browner’s office also has been criticized by the Interior Department inspector general for editing a department document in a manner that implied scientists supported the administration’s decision to place a moratorium on deep water drilling. The commission found no evidence that the change made was intentional, and Interior Secretary Ken Salazar later apologized for the misunderstanding.

Don’t be fooled. Clinton won reelection because the GOP sent a boring and old man against him, not because he supposely moved to the center. The only way this socialist wins reelection is if he runs against Romney, Huckabee or any of these Bob Dolean, Dukkakis, McCain types.
Obama and his work on the premise that there’s a sucker born every minute. Taking examples from his predecedessors the Kennedys and the Clintons know that Americans are desperate to show what nice guys they are. His having been elected despite his promise to do exactly what he is doing at full tilt, dismantling the foundations of the USA brick by brick at a rush before people get wise proves to him what he can get away with given enough time.
Just schmooze Americans. with the right words and the “let’s all work together” ,they forget that for the past half centur they’ve let these “liberals” and their gangs bamboozle them to take right after right after right away from them. Without protest except in limited quarters easily dismissible.
When some finally saw the light and objected their reactions were typical: insults, lies, threats and gangster tactics to pass laws they knew were illegal /unconstitutional. Being lawyers however they KNOW that to pass laws is far easier than to repeal laws.
Obama and these “liberals” are organised and have the advantage over groups disparate and disorganised without clear operating structures and objectives. Obama’s people willing to use the tactics of lies, threats, playing group against group have the advantage. They know this and use this. Have done since their vaunted “revolution of the 1960s”.
The safest, the most prudent reaction to ANYTHING this man and his gang do is to distrust all words, all actions. We do not know, and won’t until it’s too late what they’re actually planning and doing in the back rooms. And how many of the “new” Congressmen they’re threatening and/or buying.
Obama and his allies / partners are the Elmer Gantrys of politics beginning with the glamour boys the Kennedys and Clintons. And just look what support of these psychopaths has done to the USA.
Don’t forget the elephant in the room, Obama’s birth status, which the Justice Department, Congress and Court shy away from as if there’e something there they do not want to know.
I vote Being Shifty.
The difference between Clinton and Obama is that Clinton actually changed and moved to the center reforming welfare, etc. along the way, albeit with much urging from the right. He also was perceived as being sincere in this shift and believable because his actions backed up his words. And as I have noted before he surfed into office on the Reagan Wave insuring that he couldn’t do too much wrong. Grid lock was great and I personally miss it a great deal.
Not so Obama. Obama will be “just words” and unlike Clinton will talk the teleprompter and walk the same walk he has always walked. His lack of sincerity will be demonstrated by his actions which will be glaring and left, NOT centrist. His total lack of any useful skill sets, amateur and embittered knowledge of business and of the real world and calling the republicans obstructionists and the enemy will continue as his MO and will grow more and more tired with each passing minute.
Let’s pray that the republicans find a candidate and actually pull their act together. I am mostly doubtful of this happening as there are still too many McCain’s, Murkowski’s, etc. walking the halls of the Ruling Class Dems and Rinos. Hopefully their colors become even more clear and we vote as many of them out as we can along with the dems. If not ‘welcome to the hotel California’.

It is now more important to concentrate on form that “content” in this State of the Union. This event has become a deeply flawed and rambunctious political event with little dignity, and therefore, with little national weight.

There won’t be any supply of “shifting” by the fraud unless there’s demand for “shifting” by morons (like those who voted for the fraud.)
The dem/rep establishment has figured this out sometime ago; and in case the demand isn’t high enough, well “they count the votes” don’t they?
Mr Obama is playing defence because he has been put on the defensive. I don’t agree with the theory that the result of the 2012 Presidential election is entirely up to Obama. Will he do this? Will the economy do that? Will the hard left stand for that? Will independents buy this? Total waste of breakfast in my opinion.
The election is a competition. Concentrate on what the GOP must do, not what Obama may, or may not do. GOP compete for goodness sake. Focus on all the ways you might lose and you surely will lose. Focus on all the ways to win and gosh, you might just win.
Losers whine and fret and fail. Healthy adults boldly strive to win.
If oil and food continue to go up in price, Obama is finished. So we really need to look at the fed policy any further easing would continue to drive prices higher. My weekly food bill has doubled in the last 2 years and I do not purchase as much food. Thankfully I have lost my mind which allows me to laugh when I see the price of bacon. Worse yet every company has been trying to keep prices low due to the slow economy. They cant keep this up much longer and we will start to see larger increases over the next couple months.
Oil is the big danger and the odds of it staying stable for 2 years are laughable. Not a great time for America to decide to stop drilling in the gulf.
And you haven’t even mentioned the foreclosure tsunami. Then there’s the bank and credit card interest and fees, unemployment, etc., etc., etc.
Being shifty, got the vote of the shiftless. Soon we’ll all be shirtless.

The man is 49 years old. He has spent his entire life learning how to deceive and tricking people into thinking he will do something other than what he says. This despite the fact that he has never in his life done what he said he would do. And to this moment in time, he has never failed to trick enough people to maintain the charade. He can’t even prove that he is a citizen, and here he is, president of the United States of America. No science fiction writer could have conceived of it. It’s proof possible that human beings have the ability to construct mental universes that are completely detached from reality. If Charles Manson and Josef Stalin weren’t enough, you will have living proof in front of your eyes tonight, again.
Why on earth would anybody think he is going to change now?

The disconnect between Obama’s words and actions is so vast, it’s incomprehensible how anyone can believe a single word he utters.
Obama has been singularly focused on jobs and the economy since pre-election. Revisit his many, many, MANY speeches and count how many times he makes that declaration. Yet, here we are: near 10% unemployment nationally, with many states and regions at significantly higher levels.
“The most effective way to get stupid old and also new regulations out of the way would be through selective and specific defunding: no money, no enforcement.” Ain’t gonna happen.
The ONLY thing any of us should be paying attention to is the ObiOne’s actions – which have had the very real effect of stalling recovery; instilling fear and uncertainty in business; growing government not business; diverting time, money and effort to non-existent industries and “shovel-ready” projects … And the countless other actions that demonstrate his inept? misguided? deliberately destructive? economic efforts.
Past performance is the best indicator of future performance. ObiOne has shown us who and what he is. One of the most important lessons: his words are meaningless.

Everyone said Carter was going to win re-election when President Reagan was nominated, he won in the biggest landslide in history.

FDR’s playbook as exposed in many books including “New Deal or Raw Deal?” appears to be the guide used by the president. It’s all about getting and keeping power, using vote-buying of unions, coercion of the media, marginalizing conservative states, and more welfare programs to low-wage earners and corporations. Once clued into the method, anyone can see Obama is totally predictable. He will say anything to get re-elected, after which he will do what he pleases with his dictatorship. In 1937, a Gallup poll showed half of Americans believed FDR’s policies were leading to a dictatorship. We are a lot further down that road now than America was back then.
One more thing; Anyone notice that Obama knows about “government of the people,” but does not know anything about “government by the people, and for the people”.
And he even misinterprets his choice part; He thinks it means the people have to be governed. This is consistent with his Party line, but nevertheless, his rote belief.

As I was reading this and the comments and honestly feeling sort of exasperated and hopeless about all the huge institutionalized changes this wretched Administration has brought about and the infantile seating arrangements that have overtaken any sense of reality or substance I had a thought very becoming to this circus. All of the Administrations Czars should sit together with BIG name tags indicating their BIG titles so we can see just who really did get jobs since the last SOTU.

The General stated to Obama that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171…During rendition of the national anthem, when the flag is displayed, all present (except those in uniform) are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Or, at the very least, “Stand and Face It”. ‘Senator’ Obama replied: “As I’ve said about the flag pin, I don’t want to be perceived as taking sides”. “There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression..” “The anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all that sort of thing.”
I do hope at least a few will watch the video of the 2004 opening of the Scottish Parliament linked in the second paragraph of the article. All joined hands and sang Old Lang Syne. For those who might be interested, Sean Connery, a Member of Parliament, was there.
The version sung was almost certainly that recorded and thereby preserved well over two hundred years ago by Robert Burns, one of my favorite poets. The title is said to mean “old long-since or old long-ago.” The second, third and last verses were omitted, but they would have been irrelevant to the spirit of unity attempted to be presented.
Burns was, of course, capable of being rather nasty — probably with good cause; he probably wouldn’t appreciate the civility police now infesting the political sphere.

Burns was also capable of great tenderness. He was intensely nationalistic and loved Scotland, particularly her past, greatly. There, I think, lies his greatness and his appeal.
Did anyone notice that Obama wants to lower corporate taxes and eliminate “those corporate loopholes” that allows corporations to avoid paying any taxes? I’m just wondering if he got permission from GE CEO Jeff Imelt to “go there.” Isn’t GE one of those evil corporations who not only received TARP money, never paid it back and who also never pays any taxes thanks to those special loopholes? I suppose Imelt said it ok to go ahead and say it since he’s now sitting on Obama’s Economic Advisory Council. I’m so confused.
Shifty, of course. But the real problems are the “journalists” who are comparing him to Ronald Reagan, and those in the “center”…who are actually buying it.
